I don’t exactly remember when I started noticing. I think it was around 6 months. 6 months until I noticed my face looking a little smaller, my skin changing, my body shrinking a little. Try not to check so often. Your body’s like the pot of boiling water that JUST WON’T FKING BOIL until you walk away. So walk away for a little bit and do the right things that you KNOW will work - track your nutrition. Move. Walk. Start lifting weights every now and then. Do the things that you know are right. The more you check, the more you obsess, the more impatient you become. And I have always looked for reasons to give up. The less I checked, the less opportunities I gave myself to give up. Don’t give up. I’ll be honest... there’s days I get down on myself. - I should be able to lift more weight at this point in my journey - I should be more lean - my arms should be more defined - I shouldn’t struggle with food - other people make it look easy - etc. etc. etc. But what about how far I’ve come? That I’ve kept the weight off, that I have made healthy habits and have been pretty damn consistent. This is a life long journey. There will be ups and downs. There will be weeks that everything I eat is healthy and days when all I want is Reese‘s peanut butter cups for every meal 🤷🏼‍♀️😝 That’s life! Even for people who compete... they don’t look stage ready the whole year. Their body changes all the time. The point of this journey is to be healthy, develop healthy habits and learn to have a normal relationship with food and yes... that includes eating dessert! Restrictive as the before, Non- restrictive now, having lost weight. It sounds like it doesn’t make sense right? But the Elise on the left, whenever trying to lose weight, would be restrictive of foods, only leading me to stay in that position and gaining more way. Leading me to binge and be in a vicious cycle of cutting out certain foods, binge eating, gaining more weight, and so on. The me now, knows that in order to get to my goals, it’s about a balanced diet, not being restrictive and still having the foods I love, within certain quantities allowing me to get to my goals! 💪🏼 I remember I asked my sister to take my week 1 photos and was so embarrassed I asked her to close her eyes lolll.
