We started watching Station 19 and me being me, I couldn’t deal with not having context for all the Greys Anatomy stuff that’s brought into it, so I caved and started watching the correlating seasons of that and Schmitt is now officially my fave character within this world of shows! A little 4x8 Control Freaks Tarlos doodle I’ve been working on because again I love this shot*… though, I am still getting the hang of drawing these two so I honestly don’t think it truly captures the intensity of the emotions they’re portraying in the original shot… but, for a totally free hand two shot of characters I haven’t drawn much before - it didn’t actually turn out too badly… so that’s good 👍

*Their expressions here make me laugh, but also, I find it so amusing that their faces react in the opposite ways to each other - as in, Rafa scrunches his brow up and pulls his chin inwards while Ronen pushes his chin forward and lifts his brow to open his face up more… I don’t really have anything more to say on the matter - I just find it funny and wanted to point it out… they compliment each other in so many ways and I love them for it!

I pressed pause whilst watching 3x4 of Lone Star and this was the shot it stopped on… let’s just say, I’m now a little bit obsessed with this shot… it just speaks volumes, all he’s doing is staring ahead and yet you can totally see all the unshed emotion Carlos is feeling in this moment, all the unspoken words he’s holding back from saying - the way his hand is positioned over his mouth, he’s subconsciously silencing himself because he doesn’t want to/believe he should speak his truth… he’s powerless, filled with so much raging conflict pent-up inside for this person he’s holding vigil for - the same man who still has a hold on his heart even after seemingly throwing it aside months ago - all he can do is sit in silence waiting for something to happen… but as long as he stays silent, he remains powerless (cue the arrival of mama Reyes to help sort that out)… I love this shot! and so I thought I might try giving it a quick doodle - see if I could capture any of that myself… also because I’m terrible at drawing profiles and just wanted to see what happened…

I just found 4 newsie doodles that I did pre the show closing that I, for whatever reason, never posted before…

These were from when I was attempting to do a boysies version of the Brooklyn girlsies lineup doodle - however, as is usually the case, I got to four and then gave up to work on the next idea… who knows, maybe I’ll go back to it someday and get the others drawn - I did always like how these turned out and I am still yet to make an actual full boysies collection to match the girlsies one I’ve got (there’s just so many of them!) Maybe that can be a goal for 2024…
