I just found 4 newsie doodles that I did pre the show closing that I, for whatever reason, never posted before…

These were from when I was attempting to do a boysies version of the Brooklyn girlsies lineup doodle - however, as is usually the case, I got to four and then gave up to work on the next idea… who knows, maybe I’ll go back to it someday and get the others drawn - I did always like how these turned out and I am still yet to make an actual full boysies collection to match the girlsies one I’ve got (there’s just so many of them!) Maybe that can be a goal for 2024…

Hello fellow followers, and anyone else who might see this, I hope you’re well… I know I’ve been pretty absent on this blog recently but I wanted to ask a favour… I’ve been doing a lot of doodling lately - both original and for a particular fandom I’m currently focused on (my insta: @/burtonsdoodles - if you’re curious) - and I’m working on getting my Etsy store - longlivcuriosity - back up and running with these doodle based products - which I am much more enthusiastic about creating than what I was previously putting on there… I’ve decided to start a brand new tumblr blog to accompany it and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in giving it a follow? Or spreading the word…

As of right now it’s not got much on it but I intend to post products, artworks, process vids, polls if I’m too indecisive to pick the best direction to go with a piece… honestly, it’s gonna be a see what happens kind of deal since I haven’t really figured everything out yet and I’m terrible at planning ahead… so who knows what this blog will become but if anyone does decide to give it a follow I would be SO appreciative… and since I’m posting this on my yj blog, I’ll add that there might be some yj doodles that will be going on the Etsy at some point further down the line — after I’ve dealt with the current stuff…

Wait and see… anything is possible when it comes to CURIOSOTY…

CURIOSITY can be a fickle fiend, when she wants to be, always finding a new rabbit hole to dive deep beyond necessity, alone, forever the last to let go, to leave... deep deep down where nothing is left being seen, among darkness she can spot sights worth seeing, worth valuing, every grain of mundane is a starburst, a wonderment of somethings forgotten to be seen, lost to the light of regular sight, labelled insignificansies... CURIOSITY sees in sights the something worth seeing, something worth living in, worth appreciating... with time she admires, her time is her respect, her currency, with time creation is made, intricacies noticed, anything is possible with time, and possibilities breed creation... exactly what creation that is is something that can only be known upon seeing... but are you not just a little bit CURIOUS to know what, to be witness, to see an unseen sight as it sprouts out of the deep dark nothingness and into the luminousity of something worth seeing... well, are you? CHAOSisHERE...

2023, A year of Newsies Doodling…

My goal at the start of 2023 was to try do something creative every week so I didn’t lose touch with that part of me… I honestly think I wouldn’t have managed to achieve that goal if it wasn’t for the inspiration Newsies has given me this year - it kept me creating and it’s helped me grow in ways I never imagined… I am so very grateful for this show and can’t wait for news of its return to come this year! 🗞️

And to those who have been kind enough to support my little doodle shop this year, I want to say a massive THANK YOU! Your support has meant the absolute world to me and made 2023 into a pretty incredible year. I’d never have imagined it turning out the way it has and that’s thanks to all of you - whether that’s through buying something, or liking or sharing on socials - it is all so so appreciated and I’m immensely grateful! 🥰 So… thank you thank you thank you thank you!! You’re the best! 🫶🫶🫶
