Stay safe, guys.
Tumblr media
Hey be sure to go to your blog settings, head down to visibility and turn on this little button that prevents Tumblr from stealing your posts and using it to train AI learning models. Good job, fuckheads, great update.

So I've noticed that a lot of (supposed) bots have started following me so I feel I gotta say something
To all my human followers, what the hell is happening? Why am I attracting them? Why am I a bot magnet?
To all my (supposed) bot followers,
uhhh, hi? Welcome?

The worst thing in the entire world is when you’re sweeping a big pile of dirt into a dustpan and it leaves that little coke line of grit behind. No matter how you position your pan or your broom and no matter how many times you sweep over it your outcome cannot change. As immovable as fate. I hate it so

here's some advice for people new to tumblr i haven't seen around our parts yet... a very, very common current scam on this site to get some money out of folks is as follows:
You receive a message like the below, asking for a signal boost for a donation post pinned on their page; this is almost always for a pet.
Tumblr media
You check their page and it all looks legit. They have an icon/pfp, a bunch of reblogs rather than an empty blog, the pinned post has candid cat/dog/etc photos that look convincing, and there's a link to a normal looking gofundme in a lot of cases, with similarly realistic photos. They didn't even ask you to publish the ask specifically, they just want you to consider reblogging.
…but if you scroll down far enough, it turns out there's only like a week worth of random reblogs, no real other posts and no interaction with anyone else on the site. Which isn't in and of itself an issue- everyone joins Tumblr at SOME point- but maybe a red flag?
Inevitably, when you reverse image search the pet photos, they were nabbed off instagram or facebook or twitter or something. It's a scam.
I was getting 2-3 of these a week at one point, and all of them were convincing, probably because I doubt any of them were bots. this is a really common scam but not nearly as easily spotted as obviously automated phishing attempts; don't publish or donate to these. they're hoping your sense of sympathy, generosity and even guilt will override your suspicion at a rando asking you for money. delete 'em.
i just bring this up because i'm seeing a couple people in tf fandom getting these asks and going 'hey, signal boost!!!'' and while it's a very kind impulse... yeah, it's overwhelmingly scams, folks. sorry.

So we've gotten 10+ sessions into the game and we've done the following stupid things (that may or may not have been caused by me):
-attacking an animated suit of armor, getting killed by said suit of armor, only for our DM to be like "haha it was just an illusion lol" because it was the player's first session; he had us meet the same character in a bathroom inside the house we were in
-lit an (empty!) baby carriage/crib on fire (same player as the first one, our cleric)
-got trapped inside a flesh reflavoring of a shambling mound for the entirety of combat, killing it from the inside (this one's me)
-discovered that one of the party members is haunted by the ghost of a woman he killed who spends her time roasting him constantly
-made an old woman sniff child bone powder after a party member compared it to coke in game and in character
-got attacked by an ungodly amount of wolves multiple times
-threatened town guards with framing them for tax fraud (me again lol)
-nearly bullied a man to insanity because a card reading told us to
-a grown man sneaks into a tea party held by noble ladies (cleric again)
-got invited to a cult meeting disguised as a book club that required disguises, used an ornate eyepatch (me again)
-local cleric can excuse cultists making useless sacrifices, but not potentially inflating the economy
-local cleric gets punched by the Devil himself
-cutting off a man's arm and then putting him to sleep while shouting "die!" to prevent him from getting killed which might happen regardless (me and cleric)
-met potential gf and romantically threw axes at each other to test each other's hostility (also me)
-a guy dares to question my blood-filled water skin (my character's a human)
-used a dictionary during battle with another animated suit of armor that requires a pass code in hopes of finding the pass code (cleric)
-having to impersonate previously mentioned in-game in-character crush
-chucking a sentient dismembered, suicidal head, a chair, and a small chest at werewolves
-a player falling through two floors of a building only for the rest of us to come to the floor he landed on via elevator
And that's only the first part of this campaign!!!
So my DND group’s gonna start playing Curse of Strahd soon, and my DM made the mistake of allowing me to play a Barovian due to my knowledge of the module.  My friends think I’m gonna be like a guide, but little do they know that helping and playing a character a certain way are two different things >:>

Sorry for the veeeerrry long hiatus but I, one of the palest people on the planet, skin-matched with the Twilight vampires, have found the only foundation/concealer that matches my skin without turning orange. The only item on my bucket list has been completed I feel so accomplished oml

When it comes to DnD ~romance~ I always end up falling for either the Super Important NPC that's Vital to The Plot Which May or May Not Be Evil or Generic Guard #7 so I hope I don't drive my DM bonkers when this inevitably happens

Well, everyone has their preferences but I was just talking about how us as a community have just completely ignored the whole “skin tones are either normal tones or reds” thing that’s in the 5e player’s handbook and just thought that even the BG3 side of things thinks like that as well :]
One of my favorite things about the Baldur’s Gate 3 fandom currently is that once people saw the early access character creator we all simultaneously went PINK TIEFLING, and I think that’s beautiful.

My Favorite Pieces of Vampire Lore
-The garlic thing could refer to garlic flowers, as mentioned in Dracula, which look like cute little pink/magenta pom-poms as opposed to the garlic cloves we think of when we think of garlic
-Animals are used very often as imagery when it comes to vampires, such as mannerisms and animals themselves, my favorites being their transformations and how they vary. Dracula can transform into a swarm of bats, which is fitting for him, while Carmilla can transform into a cat which is also very fitting for her
-Speaking of abilities and how they vary, I really like how older vamps in literature have such different and varying abilities, with Dracula having too many to count and Carmilla herself having the cat ability and the ability to phase through walls. Have I said ability enough yet?
-Contrary to popular belief, silver hurts Vampire’s just as much as it hurts werewolves in a traditional sense since it’s a holy metal to Christians and Catholics, which is why their lack of a reflection is a recognizable vampiric trait. But nowadays Vampire’s WOULD be able to see their reflection and show up in film because silver isn’t used in those products anymore (we usually use aluminum now). I know this is beat like a dead horse but I think it’s just interesting how folklore changes due to technological advancements
-Dhampirs, half-vamp half-humans, originally had a place in Balkan folklore where women whose husbands and/or children acted and looked strange could mean that her husband was a vampire, leading to their very interesting ways of killing and burying said accused vampire. They also, in some cases, didn’t have fingernails. I don’t ask questions when it comes to Balkan folklore
That’s all I have for now fellas have a wonderful day :]
