What I wish I’d known before losing weight... ——————————————————————
1)Your motivation shouldn’t be shaped by the opinions people hold of your body. The words “you’d be pretty if you were _____” shouldn’t be heard.
2) Don’t get lost in the numbers. It’s easy to get trapped in by what you’re seeing on a scale and to push for lower but losing weight shouldn’t be about numbers, it’s about being healthy.
3) You’ll be able to fit into new clothes but those old jeans won’t sit right anymore. Relearning your body type after weight loss is something I haven’t mastered quite yet, walking into a shop and looking at clothes has become pretty daunting and requires a lot of try ons.
4) Balance is key. Exercise and nutrition are key for weight loss but everything should be done in moderation. It’s good to take rest days and to have foods that aren’t considered healthy, it will keep your mind healthy.
5) Most importantly, if you need help, just ask. If you don’t feel comfortable with the way things are going or if you want to be able to shout for help, talk to someone. Yank on that line because there’s someone on the end of it.
I don’t believe in god, life has ruined any justification I had of it being possible.
I do believe in life’s events though.
When a door closes, a window opens and so with every time I want to cry, scream, blame the world for the injustices. I accept that new opportunities are for the better.
