Kirishima wins in sparring. Or, when Bakugou realised he might be a little bit in love.

They’d been sparring for hours now, exchanging blow after blow, both refusing to give up. Bakugou was drenched in sweat, barely managing to contain his quirk, and Kiri was littered with bruises, clearly regretting having agreed to a no quirk fight.

Kiri was panting now, each breath coming heavier than the last, he faltered for a second and, there, Bakugou saw his opportunity and swung bodily at the redhead, fist aimed to strike. What he didn’t expect was to be knocked on his ass before he could even land the hit. Kiri dodged him seemingly effortlessly and pinned him to the ground before Bakugou could so much as blink.

“Haha let your guard down bro” he grinned from above the blonde.

And Holy Shit he was beautiful.

His hair had come loose, stray red locks falling delicately across his forehead, which was damp with sweat. And God, that shouldn’t be pretty but it was. His eyes were bright and lively, a spark of mischief in them as he grinned down at Bakugou, his teeth gleaming under the bright fluorescents of the training room. Bakugou let out a quick breath of air and tried to look anywhere but that smile. Fuck it never mind, he wanted to look at that smile, it was the prettiest thing he’d seen in his entire goddamn life.

Suddenly Kirishima’s eyes widened.

“Dude! That’s 5 seconds! I won! Holy shit I won! I thought I was a gonner in those last minutes, I was seriously beat!” His grin widened again as he stared back at Bakugou.

Damn, had it really only been 5 seconds? It had felt like an eternity, pinned by those big hands, feeling Kirishima’s weight on top of him and his abs- okay Bakugou enough gay panic.

He scowled, knowing the impact was probably lost thanks to the bright red blush that stained hi cheeks.

“Tch- whatever Shitty-hair, you got lucky.”

But, as Kirishima laughed above him, he thought maybe he didn’t mind loosing, just this once.

I like to think Todoroki and Sero lowkey exchange memes and create inside jokes with one another. Because when Sero mentioned “Earlyroki” in one of the manga panels, Shouto knew exactly what he was talking about.

I just imagine Sero getting mysterious, extremely meta, deep fried memes randomly at 3am with four or five week intervals between each one. He dedicates all his brain cells to trying to figure out who it is and only discovers the truth, when Todoroki (sleep deprived and caffeinated™) bursts into his dorm, tears in his eyes, face otherwise emotionless and demands; “Why do you never reply to my memes, Sero?”

Bakusquad Headcanons

Kaminari sheds like crazy; his hair gets everywhere. No one in the squad is safe. In fact Sero now owns 3 different types of lint roller.

Kami is a serial sweater thief, too big, too small, it doesn't matter; if it isn't locked away, Kami'll have it.

Once, Kami stole Sero's biggest, comfiest sweater and immediately went into bisexual disaster panic mode. Then Sero saw him bundled up in it and went into "Oh god, he's hot," mode.

Everyone is convinced that Sero is a stoner and they have spent months trying to prove it true.

One time, Sero tried to convince Kami that a bag of Oregano was weed, sold it to him at a "Reduced price, because we're pals!" and watched as Kami went around acting stoned the entire day.

Kami is really into conspiracy theories, he'll talk for hours without stopping for breath (this is what started his redbull addiction).

Mina used to shoplift small things like magazines and bottles of nail polish.

Bakugou once tried to build a piece of IKEA furniture, failed miserably, threw a temper tantrum and refused to talk to anyone for hours.

Mina and Kami get their legs waxed together. Kami cries like a baby every time.

Kiri has disgusting texting skills. He texts like a Mum trying to be cool and 'youthful' and just ends up with entirely illegible, arguably made up, clusters of acronyms, all used incorrectly.

Mina and Kami are obsessed with taking selfies and have entire albums dedicated to 'candids' of one another.

Kiri can't do basic maths, he genuinely cannot add or subtract numbers. He can barely count past 10. (it's because he's gay)

Mina is like an advice guru, she somehow always has the solution. That is, if you can decipher it through all the hand gestures and "OH MY GOD"s.

All the squad members rely on one another, both in everyday matters like saving each other seats at lunch, but also in the bigger picture.

They all support each other emotionally, letting one another know that it's okay to feel sad or angry or overwhelmed. That it's normal for teenagers to be hormonal messes, and that no, life isn't fair, but at least it's a little better with friends that love you.

They taught Bakugou to talk through his anger and his emotions, and to tackle the real problems instead of taking it out on everyone else. They taught him how to love, not just because you're family.

They taught Kiri that it's okay to not be 'manly' all the time. And that sometimes, the manliest thing you can do, is to admit your feelings and your fears.

They taught Kami to appreciate himself. Just because he isn't book smart, doesn't mean he's stupid, he's actually incredibly insightful and perceptive.

They taught Sero that he isn't 'plain' and 'boring', that he's unique and appreciated and incredibly important.

And they taught Mina, that she doesn't always have to put up a front of constantly being happy and bubbly, she's allowed to feel sad or not up to it sometimes.

They teach each other that it's okay to not know what you're doing, to be wandering blindly through life, because you'll always have your friends to help find the way.

Kiri is lawful good I think, but when the sleep deprivation and hero training exhaustion hits he goes full chaotic good. Once, he tried to kidnap a puppy to cheer Bakugou up and he was about to snatch it when his brain suddenly caught up with him and he immediately felt awful, almost cried, and apologised profusely to the owner, who hadn’t even noticed him by this point.

Kami acts as if he’s chaotic evil, but he’s too much of a dumb bitch for it to work. He’s more of a chaotic neutral; think a cat randomly pushing glasses off tables for no reason. And pranks that are neither mean nor beneficial, simply chaotic for the sake of being chaotic.

I think Bakugou is either lawful or chaotic neutral, but for different reasons from Kami. He’s a very lawful character; going to bed early, taking over cooking so his classmates don’t fuck it up etc. And even though he acts like an evil little bitch, at his core he's just a sweaty teenage boy who doesn’t understand emotions, hence neutral. But he is a chaotic mess. So may I be so bold as to propose chaotic lawful.

Mina is definitely on the chaotic spectrum, probably chaotic good. She is loud and over the top and an utter mess, but everything she does comes from a place of loving. She just goes full out on everything she does, but she’s always looking out for her friends and would do anything for them.

Sero is true neutral, and people who don’t know him well think of him as some kind of enigma. The Bakusquad find this hilarious because they know Sero is just a gangly teenage boy with a dopey smile, a deadpan sense of humor and a penchant for puns.

Kiribaku, learning how to love.

Out of the two of them, Bakugou is the one who gets flustered more easily. He's constantly a blushing mess whenever Kiri does anything remotely romantic.

Bakugou was really nervous to hold Kirishima's hand at first, because of how sweaty his hands get. Then Kiri just grabbed him by both hands and whispered a soft "Shut up Blasty."

Bakugou is also nervous to kiss Kiri, he's never dated anyone before, or even had romantic feelings towards anyone before and he's afraid he'll fuck up and look like some kind of weakling (or that Kiri won't want him anymore).

Their first kiss isn't gentle and beautiful and everything the movies promised. It's harsh, and wet, and has way too much teeth. Because when Bakugou finally does work up the nerve, he goes for it. (Kiri teaches him how to be gentle over time).

Even though Kiri seems more experienced in comparison to Bakugou, they're both new to romance and relationships; too busy with hero studies to focus on dating before.

Communication is a big issue at first, Bakugou too stubborn to say how he's feeling, or even be able to articulate it if he could. And Kiri sometimes struggles to fill in the blanks, even though he can usually read Bakugou, because he's second guessing himself, confidence dwindling in the unknown waters of teenage love.

They're constantly fumbling, messing things up and getting confused, but they're trying, because they both realise that what they have is good, it's loving and trusting, and they are equals in every way.
