The 1st Thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their harvest in New England on 1621. It lasted 3 days and was celebrated with the Native Americans, who helped them grow crops to survive the horrendous winter.
Almost 400 years later, we celebrate the anniversary of that special day, and the significance it had on the development of the settlers. However, the turkeys are once again sad.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
