Ellie Headcanons!

I love she. I've been thinking about her a lot lately so I've decided to share some HCs. Both recent ones and ones I've been kicking around in the past.

Her full name is Elinor Madison Hayden.

She grew up on a farm, as I stated before. Her father is the farm's owner, while her mother is an animal carer. Ellie grew up among nature and animals and thus has a strong admiration for them, just like Gabby. Her family in general is utterly chaotic, but they love her and she loves them just as much.

Her mother named her for the titular character of Elinor Wonders Why - a show Ellie grew a strong love for growing up. Bluey is also a family favorite.

Her favorite food is pumpkin pie, especially when baked by her uncle.

She owns a lot of stuffed animals. Not quite as many as her girlfriend but still a respectable amount. Especially bunnies!

She's a very big pop-punk fan. Some of her favorite artists include Boys Like Girls, The Maine, Dashboard Confessional, Yellowcard and All-American Rejects. Her all-time favorite song is, as I mentioned before, "Only One" by Yellowcard. She's also someone who regularly listens to different pop-punk albums every day and thus she's had a lot of wonderful experiences hearing new songs and bands. In particular, "A Twist in My Story" by Secondhand Serenade is one album that had her in tears.

She happens to be an amazing singer, too. (wishing so bad we could have a DC musical season)

Though, she's not particularly a great dancer...she often needs Gabby to help her out lol. But with Gabby's guidance, the girlfriends have shared some amazing slow dances in nature.

Autumn and spring are her favorite seasons. Autumn for the general coziness, warm lattes, orange leaves and happy vibes. Spring because she loves when it starts to warm up again after winter, and also she loves the smell of spring flowers so much. Getting to know Gabby has her loving spring even more - seeing Gabby's energy whenever spring starts is always adorable to her!

I've already mentioned that Ellie's favorite flowers are peonies and lavender (if you count that as a flower lol) but she also loves roses, gardenias, lilies of the valley, hyacinths just like Gabby, jasmine and lilacs. ...Okay she loves most flowers lol. In general, flowers have always been something Ellie has loved. Whenever her jobs were stressing her out, Ellie finds some time to spend admiring flowers, and it calms her down. Gabby has taken notice of her girlfriend's love of flowers and thus uses floral-scented products to wash both herself and the girls' belongings, and Ellie finds it so utterly heavenly.

Ellie's interest in fashion sprouted when she caught some My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on television as a young girl and really admired Rarity's eye for fashion. Her father also has an old friend who is in fashion school.

At school, Ellie made a couple friends, but was also picked on a lot for her looks and being too much of a "girly girl" for her fashion interest and love of flowers.

Ellie realized she was bisexual not long after joining high school, where she started crushing on two different people - a quarterback boy, and a girl on the soccer team. Her family accepted her the very nanosecond she confessed.

She ended up asking both suitors out, but neither went all that well. While the quarterback let her down gently, the soccer player rejected her pretty brutally, pushing her onto the crowd and calling her nasty names. Ellie didn't ask anyone out again for a while after that. Falling deeply for Gabby truly changed her life.

In spite of her enjoyment of fashion and beauty stuff, Ellie generally doesn't use make-up. It's not her style...and she's pretty allergic to lots of make-up products anyway.

She gives AMAZING hugs. (Might as well be canon)

Her dad has an old Gamecube which Ellie plays a ton, often with Gabby and a couple of their other friends outside DC. Her favorite game for the system is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. You can bet she turned into a squealing little ball of joy when the remake is announced, and now she has a Switch on pre-order!

As a kid she made friends with one of the pigs on her family farm, a girl named Amelia, and spent time every day going to see her and play with her. She loved that pig dearly. Sadly, Amelia ended up passing away not long after she returned from season 1, devastating Ellie. Luckily she did have Gabby as her shoulder to cry on in those tough times.

In general, being with Gabby has helped brighten Ellie up considerably in her daily life. Sure she's pretty cutthroat when it comes to high-stakes reality TV shows like Disventure Camp, but when she's not in a competition, she's a sweet and tender soul. Her family in general is grateful to Gabby for bringing so much happiness out of their little girl. 💖

I've probably forgotten some but whatever, these are just a few of the ones I have.

Senses-Focused Ellabby HCs!

Your ambassador of Ellabby has returned. Headcanons of the gals based on the five senses! Three for each sense

💖Sight💗

Whenever the girls are cuddling, they sometimes start complmenting every little thing about their partners, from their face to their earlobes to their fingers. So on and so forth. “All of me loves all of you!”

Ellie is a total sucker for bunnies. Even seeing a picture of a cartoonish bunny rabbit is liable to send her into a gushing frenzy. Gabby is well aware of this and regularly gives her bunny-themed gifts.

Being a skilled artist with an excellent eye for fashion, Ellie often finds herself drawing pictures of her girlfriend wearing her fashion designs.

🎵Hearing🔊

Ellie loves when Gabby goes into one of her silly rambles about what she loves, finding it adorable how excited she gets over everything, and loving the sound of her voice.

Gabby is a little self-conscious about her singing voice, but Ellie loves hearing her sing, no matter how loud she gets.

The girls have gotten into each other’s favorite music genres a lot, with Gabby generally liking more low-key and emotional female vocal music like your Billie Eilish and your Girl in Red (as well as Enej, which Word of God has confirmed her to love), while Ellie is very into pop punk. They’ve sung one another’s favorite songs together a lot. (Ellie’s favorite song is Only One by Yellowcard while Gabby’s favorite song is Everything I Wanted by Billie Eilish.)

💐Smell🌹

Ellie’s pretty vulnerable to smells in general. Having worked at an awful bartending job, she can’t handle the smell of alcoholic beverages without feeling sick due to the painful memories. Nonetheless, this makes Ellie love the scent of flowers even more. Flowers make her feel safe. Meanwhile, Gabby just loves flowers because she’s a nature-loving sweetheart and admires all its charms, smell very much included.

Gabby is something of a rose enthusiast. She knows which ones are the easiest or hardest to grow, and which ones have the smells she and Ellie like best. She can sometimes be seen online talking with fellow rose enthusiasts. She’s also surprised Ellie with many bouquets of her favorite roses!

The girls like stopping at perfume stores and sampling the perfumes they have on offer, and buying their favorites.

🍧Taste🧁

I’ve probably mentioned this before (apologies if I haven’t) but the girls dislike fast food outlets (especially given Gabby’s veganism and dislike of big fat corporations) and much prefer smaller businesses. Most of their dates are at tiny vegan cafes in towns and parks.

Gabby absolutely adores dark chocolate (girl same). The girls often grab any dark chocolate they find in corner stores!

The girls also love fruit sorbet, and regularly have dates in cozy ice cream and sorbet shops and sharing them.

🤝Touch👏

Ellie understands how touch-starved Gabby is and thus won’t hesitate to give her cuddles and kisses when she needs them. Regardless of whether they’re in public or in private, they cuddle and kiss a lot, and they feel safe in each other’s arms.

The girls adore warm fuzzy blankets. (you could’ve guessed by yesterday’s fic lol) They love cuddling beneath them, and whenever one of them is sick (usually Gabby because Ellie has a strong immune system), the other one will wrap them up in a freshly-washed fuzzy blanket to warm them up.

Gabby’s most tickle-sensitive spots are her tummy and neck while Ellie’s most tickle-sensitive spots are her sides and underarms. Both girls get jumpy if you even poke them there, but they’re always willing to let each other go crazy on those spots. Getting tickled by their lover brings them a lot of serotonin.

So y'all know about my HC of Ellie adoring flowers (the same being true for Gabby) so here's a fic where Gabby treats Ellie to some nice therapeutic floral warmth after a long day at work for her. You can bet that this is a reoccurring event in their cozy lifestyle.

It was late one night, and Ellie was being forced to work overtime for that evening, and it left Gabby home alone awaiting her freckled sweetheart.

It’d been a few months since they started dating and living in the same house – and Ellie was still doing her best to find the money she needed to achieve her fashion designer dreams. It wasn’t easy, it never was. But Gabby knew just how to support her beloved. She knew what Ellie loved. And she knew how to bring her girlfriend into a peaceful, happy state, even after the worst days.

That evening, Gabby was busy setting up some candles besides the girls’ bed, fluffing their pillows, and settling some of Ellie’s beloved stuffed rabbits in their bed. She’d even taken it upon herself to wash their cozy, fuzzy blanket using Ellie’s favorite peony detergent.

Admittedly, Gabby made a bit of a mess while trying to do so. Laundry detergent can get everywhere if you’re not careful. But she didn’t mind cleaning up for her girlfriend. She loved her enough that she’d do anything to make her life easier.

It was as Gabby was making the final touches on the girls’ bed that the Tree Hugger heard a few knocks on the bedroom door. The brunette hurried to the door and opened it wide. There, Ellie stood waiting for her. She looked beyond exhausted, hair wildly messed up and dark rings forming underneath her eyes. It wasn’t anything new for the Polish girl seeing her girlfriend so tired, but it was a sobering sight nonetheless. Nonetheless, the redhead gazed at her beautiful girlfriend and managed a weak smile. “Hey, my beautiful Nature Princess.” Gabby gave her beloved a peck on her cheek, “Welcome home, my Sunset Angel!”

The redhead returned the favor with a gentle kiss on the tip of Gabby’s nose, making her giggle. “Thanks, sweetheart…” She stretched with a tired moan. “I wish I could say it was a good day, but…you know what my overtime shifts can be like.” She rubbed her own back gently, “It feels like my bones are threatening to snap in two if I work another minute.” “You don’t have to worry anymore, sweetie,” Gabby comforted her beloved, rubbing her sides gently. “Let’s get you in bed.”

With that, the Minimum Wage Worker stumbled towards the girls’ bed that Gabby had prepared for her. “Wow…you made it look really nice tonight, Gabbs,” she spoke in pleasant surprise. “No trouble at all!” squeaked the brunette in glee, glad her girlfriend liked her handiwork.

Ellie laid backwards upon the girls’ double bed, and already felt some of her stress and pains start to fade as she registered its soft warmth. “Ohhh yeah…this feels so good,” purred the redhead in joy, heart lighting up with warmth as she let her head sink gently into her light pink pillow and pulled the girls’ soft pastel blue blanket around herself. That’s when she noticed its scent – as if it had freshly left a field full of soft pink peonies. The American girl didn’t hesitate and took a deep, long breath, savoring the blanket’s sweet smell, pulling it up to her nose to fill her mind with its delicate aroma. “Mmmm…it smells so nice! Did you wash our blanket for me, too?” She gave the brunette a smile full of gratitude and joy. It was totally adorable. “You got it, sweetheart,” chirped the nature-lover, “Whenever you have a hard day like today, I wanna make sure to pamper you to the best of my abilities until you feel all better.”

Ellie could feel her heart melting as she registered each gentle, loving word of her girlfriend. Her heart fluttered as she gazed up at her Nature Princess. How lucky was she to have this perfect ray of sunshine in her life?

Gabby now brought out a tiny lighter and picked up one of the candles she had set up next to the girls’ bed, on Ellie’s side. It had bright red wax and was labelled “Angelic Aroma of Reddest Roses”. Gabby gave a little giggle as she lit up the wick at the top of the candle and set it next to where Ellie was lying. “What’s this?” Ellie asked out of curiosity, the tiny flicker of the flaming candle reflected in her azure eyes. “Just close your eyes and take a deep breath,” the brunette instruced her, softly stroking her hair for a moment.

Ellie did as she was told. She shut her eyes and took a breath through her nose – and sure enough…a warm floral scent entered her mind, reminiscent of the freshest, deepest red roses blooming in the summertime. It gently intertwined with the scent of peonies radiating from her blanket, surrounding her with pure aromatic bliss.

For a few minutes, Ellie had forgotten she was in her bed. For that moment in time, Ellie felt like she was in the midst of a field of the most beautiful red and pink flowers, air filled with their wonderful scents. Wherever she turned, she could smell the sweet, light aroma of peony on one side and the deep, rich, intoxicating fragrance of red roses on the other. Every painful memory of that long, awful working day had disappeared from her mind. Now, all she felt was pure bliss. She kept her eyes shut, continuing to breathe deeply, enveloped in the purifying scent of the flowers she was picturing around her.

Ellie might not have realized it at the time, but Gabby was watching her with pure joy. The Tree Hugger knew that she’d succeeded in bringing pure joy to the redhead. Every breath Ellie took in was long and deep, savoring wave after wave of the pure aromatic euphoria she was in. Every breath she let out was a long, happy “aaahhhhhhhh,” face lighting up with the brightest and most beautiful smile. Gabby couldn’t help but tear up a little from joy and adoration of the angel she had in her life. She was so, so very glad to have made her so happy.

Eventually the brunette, gently as she could, climbed into bed alongside the freckled one, wrapping herself up under the warm, comforting blue blanket she’d washed. Taking a moment to breathe the aroma permeating the air herself, Gabby shut her eyes and prepared to let sleep take its hold on her, expecting Ellie to follow soon after.

When… “Hey, Gabby-bear,” purred the redhead, reaching her hand behind her and grasping her loved one’s hand. Opening one eye, Gabby responded, “Yes, my darling Ellie-kins?” “Could we go on a date to the local garden tomorrow?” she squeaked, “Because…I’d love to spend an entire day admiring flowers with you. It just makes me feel…” She took in one more deep breath of the peony-rose scent filling the room, “…so at home. Wherever we are. And it feels even better…knowing I have you by my side.” “Aww, of course we can, my sweet darling Ellie,” Gabby chirped, nuzzling into the crook of her girlfriend’s neck. “I’d go anywhere with you, my beloved.” “Thank you…thank you so much, Gabby.” Ellie turned around and let her nose brush up against Gabby’s, pushing their foreheads together. “I love you so much…my one and only Nature Princess.” Gabby felt herself tearing up one more time, and she wrapped her arms around her freckled soulmate in a tender embrace. “And I love you too, my precious and beautiful Sunset Angel.”

Tipiskaw Mall AU HCs I have

Decided to return to my mall/florist AU for DC and make some extra content for those who've been missing it. Reminder to go check out Meet Someone New, Gain Some Hope by CrawdadChester on AO3, it's amazing

In general Gabby's flower shop has an emphasis on fragrant flowers - Gabby can never get enough of the smell of flowers and wants to share that joy with the world.

Ever since she and Gabby started dating, Ellie comes to visit Gabby's shop every day - that shop is her favorite place in the world. She'll spend plenty of time smelling the loveliest flowers there, and it truly brings her into a calm, happy state. And when she's not doing that, she's giving Gabby lots of affection.

Gabby gives bouquets of flowers to Ellie every chance she gets. And as a bonus, Ellie is allowed to take any flowers she wants from her shop for free.

At one point, Ellie admitted to Gabby that she wished she could give Gabby some flowers of her own. Gabby's response was simply that Ellie was all the flowers she'd ever need. Ever since then, Gabby has affectionately nicknamed Ellie "my flower".

Gabby loves giving Ellie flower crowns, as well. Peonies are especially common, being Ellie's favorite

As a couple, Ellie and Gabby have the reputation of being the mall's local sweetheart lovebirds. They're incredibly affectionate, and when they're not at their jobs, they're often seen cuddling on a bench or going on dates at vegan establishments. They're the type to share a strand of vegan pasta leading to a kiss, or drink a strawberry lemonade using straws in the same glass. And they say "I love you" a LOT.

As for everyone else in the mall...as we know Fiore can be a troublemaker in Alec's store and in Lill's store. However she also likes bothering James and Aiden - whenever she sees them taking a selfie, she'll photobomb the crap out of the poor boys, making goofy faces or rude gestures in them.

As we know Jake runs the local Hot Topic - however, he thinks The Nightmare Before Christmas is a very overrated movie. This is to Tess' horror - she thinks it is the finest animated movie ever created.

Tom HATES Paul Blart: Mall Cop jokes.

Sometimes, a certain puppet ends up in Lill's store somehow. No-one knows why or how, but every time, a bearded man named Marcus comes to buy the puppet...

All I've Ever Needed

(Warning, some mild spoilers for episode 3 lie ahead in this preamble)

Soooooo episode 3 happened, and honestly, I don't know how to feel. I LOVE where Riya's arc is going and Jake also calmed down, which is good to see. But god Miriam did Tom dirty this ep, and I am kinda starting to worry about Ellie's arc. I mean, if she's doing a villain arc, fair enough, but I'm worried for what this will mean for her friendship with Gabby - reminder that Ellie was the first person who ever made Gabby feel valid? I really don't want things to go awry between them but I'm worried it's an inevitability...

So to cheer myself up I wrote an adorable fluff ficlet featuring them being romantic, cuz I've been starved for that content lol. It's probably not very in character for Ellie knowing what she's been through, but I need some touching cuteness.

Oh yeah, Tess is here too.

Outside the Cyan Team's tent, Tess was drawing a night sky. She gazed towards the heavens, and painted drops of white to represent the twinkling stars above her.

Watching her from within the tent, Ellie and Gabby decided to go out to watch their friend.

"Wow, Tess," Gabby chirped as she stepped outside the waterproof tent, getting Tess' attention, "That's such a pretty drawing! You're so good at this!" "Thanks," the dark-haired girl responded with a smile.

All of a sudden an idea appeared in Tess' mind. She took a pale white paint and streaked it gently across the dark blue background, before dabbling a tiny dot ahead of that white streak.

The girls didn't take long to register what Tess had just painted. "Wow," Ellie spoke lightly, "Is that a shooting star?" "What else would it be?" the artist chuckled quietly, before looking to the skies once more, admiring the twinkling stars above her. "Even after a life like mine, I've still wished on a shooting star every time I've seen one. Maybe it's futile, but it's a source of comfort. It always has been." "Aw, I do the very same thing!" giggles the Polish girl, "Every time I see a shooting star, I wish that I could make friends with every animal in the world and make them all happy forever!" She clapped her hands giddily, and Ellie couldn't help but blush at how adorable her girlfriend was being. It felt like, even after the life she'd been through, Gabby's infectious joy was always capable of making her rough life worth dealing with.

Calming down, Gabby sat on the grass and asked Tess, "If you could make a wish right now…what would you wish for?" "Well," the quiet girl considers for a moment, before giving her answer, "I'd wish that Ally and Hunter could find a way to work through their issues and be happy. That's what I want most." Gabby gasped, "But what about your jo-" Ellie cut her off, giving her girlfriend a warm, loving smile. "That'd be nice, trust me…but I already have everything I could've ever needed in my life…" And with that, Ellie gently put one of her hands on Gabby's cheek, stroking it gently with her fingers. She gazed deeply into the eyes of her beloved Tree Hugger - her one and only Nature Princess.

"And she's right here in front of me."

Quick Ellabby affection HCs cuz I'm bored out of my skull

I have nothing better to do today, and I wanted to get some Ellabby headcanons out there. This one's focused on the ways they show affection to each other, cuz you can't tell me they aren't one of the most openly affectionate couples around. I've probably stated some of these before but oh well.

In general, the girls are super-affectionate. Gabby, as I've mentioned before, is touch-starved and thus finds herself craving a lot of affection, and Ellie is always happy to give her some cuz she just wants her sweetheart to be happy...plus Ellie just loves getting to cuddle with her beloved Gabby-bear

Every morning, one girl awakens the other with a kiss on the lips, forehead or cheek, or just by tickling them awake. Then they spend upwards of an hour still cuddling in bed.

Along with lots of kisses on the lips, cheek and forehead, Ellie enjoys giving Gabby gentle kisses on her hand. In turn, Gabby likes to give Ellie the softest kisses on the tip of her nose.

As a bonus, between kissing sessions they'll often share quiet little "I love you" exchanges.

The girls love to carry each other. Whenever Ellie is carrying her, Gabby gets incredibly cuddly, and whenever Gabby is carrying her, Ellie takes the opportunity to give Gabby plenty of kisses on her forehead.

One of Gabby's most ticklish spots is on her neck. Ellie loves to give her soft kisses on her neck while they're cuddling in bed to get her giggling.

They. LOVE. giving each other pets. Ellie loves when Gabby gives her nice, long strokes and back-rubs, while Gabby loves when Ellie gives her lots of scritches and tickles on her hair and around her ears, and ESPECIALLY on the tip of her chin.

Whenever they're in the middle of something, the girls love just pausing to give each other a soft, warm kiss. Doing chores in the house? Kiss. Riding a rollercoaster? Kiss. TP-ing Jake's house and running away from Miriam as she chases them with a big stick? Kiss. They also hug a LOT as well.

Ellie often finds herself stressed out due to job shenanigans, so Gabby's often giving her nice, soothing massages.

They LOVE to rub noses. Especially before or after Gabby gives Ellie one of her nose kisses.

Whenever the girls reunite after one of them has been away for the day, Gabby tends to give Ellie a joyful tackle-hug to welcome her home. However, Ellie has turned this around on Gabby more than once. (Ellie being a total romantic dork around Gabby >>>>>>>>)

The girls love to play with one another's hair. Ellie especially loves stroking Gabby's hair when it's in a ponytail

Gabby loves to lie in Ellie's lap as well and let her rub her shoulders

Sometimes, they cuddle for so long and so deeply, that Gabby ends up falling asleep in Ellie's arms. Ellie doesn't mind this, and often carries her to bed to let her sleep before reading a book next to her, occasionally turning to her to kiss her forehead and telling her a quiet "I love you".

Those are all I'm coming up with for now, but now you know just a few ideas I have for how these girls show their love...and how often they do so (it's a lot)

Quick Episode 3 trailer thoughts (Spoilers)

The trailer was pretty short, so here's a pretty short post on it.

They didn't show much of Aiden this trailer, if anything at all. Hope he's doing okay.

After Miriam didn't do the swimming in the season 1 finale, now she has to. Hope this doesn't mean anything bad for her condition...she also confronts Alec at one point, likely over him getting in Jake's head

Still digging the Jake-Ashley friendship

Fiore is still on a roasting spree

They put sharks in the water...and Ellie is SCARED of sharks...WHY IS SHE GETTING SO MUCH TRAUMA-

Same for Riya. I dunno how she feels about diving challenges after the season 2 finale but it probably isn't good.

On the bright side, look how adorable Gabby is!!!

Disventure Camp All-Stars Episode 2 Thoughts (SPOILERS)

First of all, it was my birthday yesterday! And I got the greatest belated gift of all:

I'm just very happy with how Jaiden was done here. No longer is there drama, they're just wholesome and happy. Also I'm glad we got just one kiss before...well yeah

This scene was a rollercoaster and a half. I really hope Alec reconciles with Fiore soon. Fiore's anguish at her situation actually sounded kinda genuine...

Very happy with where they're taking Ashley. They're following up on her rivalry with Fiore, giving her some killer lines, and I really like the bond she's got going with Jake.

As for the elimination...

I had heard several theories that James would be the first to go, so I can't say I'm too surprised. I feel sorry for Aiden tho, he'll be really sad when he finds out...though the fact that James didn't read the patreons does have me thinking that his story isn't quite over.

Anyway, here's to more episodes of Disventuring, Camping and Gabby being the best!
