4 more minutes on the run and you would have made it. But now your face in the mud, and a knee in your back the officer reads your rights. “Chosen by lottery, informed within the time limit. You are hearby duly sworn as the President of the United States.”

Are you trapped on tumblr right now?
Is there something you planned to do before you got trapped in the endless tumblr scroll?
Are you yelling at yourself to get up and do the thing, but you can’t, because you’re trapped in the endless tumblr scroll?
Consider this your save point.
Put tumblr down, stand up, stretch, and go do the thing you planned to do. Future you will be incredibly grateful.

The ponderful turtle meme I just made up made me more ponderful myself...
Ponderful should be a legit word, because I am full of ponderings. It would be spelled so close to wonderful, full of wonder... if I spelled and pronounced it how wonderful sounds, it would be pun-derful, which is perfect, because puns! If I spelled wonderful how ponderful is pronounced, however, you get wander-ful! Which should be a word too, full of a wandering spirit. XD
I am ponderful and wanderful, and wonderfully punderful! Lol!
Not to mention, when you put those words in a row, none of them even look like real words anymore. XD

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Psalms 8:3‭-‬4 NLT

“don’t meet your heroes” has turned into “don’t have any heroes at all” at this point because now it’s inevitable that someone you look up to either
is called out for something
does something awful openly
and if that hasn’t happened to your hero, you get anxious every time you think about the possibility that they might be problematic
(keep in mind i’m using the term “hero” very lightly, like someone you just aspire to be like humor or style or popularity wise)

I've seen this before, but it's been years and it just came across my Twitter in its dying days. The words are from a favorite author of mine, Maggie Stiefvater, and they are the words I most need to hear when it comes to dealing with chronic pain and illness. I didn't need this the first time I saw it, six years ago. I need it now. Maybe you do, too.

I am frustrated
I recently learned of the Disney Show 'Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, and I do not like it. I watched part of an episode and became extremely frustrated with it.
I do not like how the kids have lightsabers. I would equate a lightsaber similar to a knife or sword. Would you give a child a long knife? Of course not! They could hurt themselves.
I probably need to do more research on this show before a make a final conclusion, but my opinion is that we shouldn't be giving children dangerous weapons, even if it is a fictional weapon in a fictional show.
Don't get me wrong. I think it is perfectly fine to give your child a "lightsaber" irl. Those are toys. They aren't that dangerous.
But in the Star Wars universe, they are very dangerous. This is simply just a miss use of Star Wars in general (which, if you ask me, has happened quite a bit).
Well, this was just a rant. You don't have to agree with me. Okay bye

It’s truuuue!
I remember seeing a lot of people say “but the viola is always being broken”
I’m gonna assume that it’s just the viola itself that’s breaking, but not the palisman.

My dad and I once had a disagreement over him using the adage "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
I said, "That's just not true. Sometimes what doesn't kill you leaves you brittle and injured or traumatized."
He stopped and thought about that for a while. He came back later, and said, "It's like wood glue."
He pointed to my bookshelf, which he helped me salvage a while ago. He said, "Do you remember how I explained that, once we used the wood glue on them, the shelves would actually be stronger than they were before they broke?"
I did.
"But before we used the wood glue, those shelves were broken. They couldn't hold up shit. If you had put books on them, they would have collapsed. And that wood glue had to set awhile. If we put anything on them too early, they would have collapsed just the same as if we'd never fixed them at all. You've got to give these things time to set."
It sounded like a pretty good metaphor to me, but one thing I did pick up on was that whatever broke those shelves, that's not the thing that made them stronger. That just broke them. It was being fixed that made them stronger. It was the glue.
So my dad and I agreed, what doesn't kill you doesn't actually make you stronger, but healing does. And if you feel like healing hasn't made you stronger than you were before, you're probably not done healing. You've got to give these things time to set.
