Hey! I know that the post you did about Riley Poole Whump fics is older, but I was wondering about a certain one of the fanfiction links you posted. I have read National Treasure Redux v-1 and I really liked it, but it seems that the story was either deleted or taken down. I was wondering if you knew anyone who had downloaded or if you had, because I would really like to read it again. Thanks!

Well, after that writer's game post yesterday where I said I was stuck trying to figure out my scene organization, I finally figured out what I wanted to do.

And so here's the next chapter in my current WIP, also known as the blind!Charlie fic.

And yes, there's a fight scene, but it's me so are you really surprised? However, much as I love him and he had high hopes for it, gotta say that it doesn't quite go like how our hero probably hoped... 😈 (Do I hear complaining? I certainly hope not. There's none from me.)

(I also apologize for the delay in between chapters, but there was this whole thing where I fought a kidney stone and a few infections during literally the entire month of December (and missed holidays with my family, so that was fun) and then spent most of January recovering, so you're kind of lucky you're even getting another chapter so soon, really, if you look at it that way.)

I've been telling friends about one of my favorite shows, Magnificent Seven, from late 90's, which was also probably my first foray into fandom. I don't even know why I or even how I found fanfic back in 1998 - but I did, and I have loved them ever since. But it's not just the show that I love, it is the fandom. Maybe because it was almost all older women, or maybe people were just nicer back then - there were no ship wars. None. Not even a thing. 99% of the fandom is genfic A++++ Found Family, but the ones who did ship characters together Shipped and Let Ship. Nobody bothered anybody. And there were like 7 or 8 widespread AU's that everyone agreed on - there was the OG Old West where the show was set, but then there was the WILDLY popular (to the point I thought THAT was the actual premise for the show, and 10 year old me was very shocked to find it was a western) ATF AU where the characters were federal agents. There was Lil Britches, which had several of the characters are children and the rest are adults, there's Star Trek and Star Wars, and them as private detectives, WWII soldiers, etc. The lists are endless. And none of them are bad.

And almost every single one of them is whumpy as fuck.

When Five’s glass was ready again, Diego raised his own, still half-full. “To being home,” he said.

That earned him a smile, a real one that managed to soothe the crease in Five’s brow and make him look so incredibly young in its sincerity, and so incredibly old in its deep gratitude. He raised his glass and clinked it against Diego’s. “To finally being home.”

Because, of course, things had to go sideways— No, scratch that. Things didn't just go sideways, things went upside down, backward, and inside out. And then got blown up. Literally.

In the aftermath of the whole fiasco, Five is left reeling, floundering, drowning in guilt.

Because how could he have done that?

How could he have attacked his family?

spoiled by morimaru Number Five is a survivor. He fought his whole life: he fought their father, the apocalypse, the commission, then – the apocalypse, again. Having made that fateful jump back to 2019, he unwillingly left his old body with all of its scars behind. Physical ones, at least. It’s funny, in a way, that the hardest thing for him to fight ends up being food.

Where is your banner photo from?

From one of my favorite "gone before its time" shows - Forever, starring Ioan Gruffudd and Judd Hirsch. Ioan Gruffudd plays an immortal named Henry who "died" back in the 1700's (I think), but ever since that first incident, he no longer ages and whenever he dies he ends up in water, stark naked - but he's in New York City, so he's never the weirdest thing someone has seen coming out of the river.

That specific scene, he's trying to solve a murder by testing out different poisons on himself to see how the victim died. Judd Hirsch plays his adopted son from the 40's all grown up and acting more like a dad than a son most of the time to Henry.

Very good - and it doesn't leave on a horrific cliffhanger when it was cancelled, so highly recommend.
