One day left.

You didn’t want to leave, but there are some things that are out of your control.

The Devildom had become home, the residents becoming like your family.

But Lucifer….

Oh, Lucifer.

You had said your goodbyes to the demon brothers, and they had even thrown a going away party for you.

And yet you find yourself standing outside of the door to Lucifer’s study.

He had stowed himself away in there, no doubt trying to occupy his mind with paperwork and other things of the sort. He had been quiet the whole party, watching you from the side with an unreadable expression.

“Lucifer?” You knocked gently on the door, and heard shuffling from inside, and the faint crackles of a record. “Come in.” Lucifer’s deep voice sounded from inside, and you entered the room, closing the door behind you. Lucifer was at his desk, listening to a record you had gifted him for his birthday. His expression seemed to soften when he saw you, and he sighed. “What brings you to my study so late? I would have assumed my brothers would be trying to spend as much time as possible with you.” He mused, watching you with intent eyes as you came closer.

“I wanted to see you.” You said, standing in front of him. He stood, and you took him into your arms, inhaling the faint scent of smoke and clean linen. He wordlessly returned the embrace, resting his head in the crook of your neck. He sighed again, holding you tightly against him. “I…” Lucifer pauses, “To be honest, I wish you could stay here forever. I have to admit, I’ve grown quite fond of you.” He says finally, pulling away slightly to look at you. “So do I.” You can see he’s trying to remain neutral, to not let his emotions get the best of him. You gently take his face in your hands, rubbing your thumb across the alabaster skin. He leans into the touch, turning his head to kiss your palm.

“Lucifer, it’s just us now.”

Your gentle voice, and the look of love you give him is what finally breaks him. He meets your gaze, his ruby eyes full of something you can’t discern. “It’s always been you.” He says, his voice quiet. “What do you mean?” You ask, as he takes your hands in his. He looks like he wants to say something, but doesn’t. “Nothing, it’s not important.” He shakes his head. You stare at him for a few moments longer, and then bring his face to yours in a soft kiss. He returns the gesture, and you notice the sudden warmth of his hands. He isn’t wearing his gloves. He wants his body to remember the feeling of your skin, and yours to remember his touch. His heart aches for you, to hide you away and keep you for himself.

But he can’t, and he knows that. “I love you.” He says after you break the kiss, and the softness in his voice just hurts even more. He’s so vulnerable in this moment, but for you? He’ll let you break his heart over and over again.

As someone who struggles with chronic muscle tension and fatigue, I’ve always wondered how it would affect my life in the Devildom~

I tried to make this as ambiguous as possible regarding specific conditions, also covering the bases of mental health! I only did the brothers this time, so let me know if you want a part two with the side characters!

Lucifer

Understands why you would keep it a secret

He would ask you to elaborate on your condition, so that he can better help you deal with it

If you need physical assistance, or mobility aids, Lucifer will gladly be of service. If it’s something mental health related, he’ll make sure you have the tools/and or prescriptions to manage it.

Mammon

Would be kinda upset you kept it a secret at first, he’s your first man, so he should know everything about you!

But he also gets that it might be embarrassing or hassling to explain. (I actually headcanon Mammon as bipolar)

Asks you questions about your condition, he’s rlly curious about it especially because you’re a human

Levi

W-whaaa?? You’re sharing this information with a yucky otaku like him?!?

Well, you’re his Henry! He wants to have your back at all times! So tell him what you need, and the Lord of Shadows will provide!

If there’s an anime where a character has the same condition as you, he’ll ask if you want to watch it with him! And maybe snuggle up in his bathtub…

Satan

He’s a little sad you kept it from him at first. He loves you, and wants to know everything about you!

That being said, he respects your privacy and only presses further if you offer. He tries to find books on human world conditions, and, like Lucifer, will offer you different kinds of support depending on what you need.

Asmo

Aw, you poor thing! Why didn’t you tell him? He should know everything about you, mind and body~

He loves you, flaws and all! Not that you have any flaws, of course. He’ll take care of you, listen to your troubles, and try and do his best to make you feel better.

Do you need a spa day? Someone to cuddle with? Or some kind of medication? Asmo will use his connections to get you anything you want!

Beel

It’s not a big deal to him. He respects your privacy, and waits until you’re ready to share with him. He’s a good listener, and though it may seem like he’s focused on his food, he’s taking in every word you say.

Tries to find foods with healing properties or at least something that might make you better. But if you tell him that’s not what you want, he’ll listen and back off. You’re special to him, and he wants to do his best to comfort you.

Belphie

Belphegor, like Beel, also doesn’t consider it a big deal. But if you choose to confide in him specifically, he’s honored. If you’re having a bad day due to your condition, he’ll invite you to nap with him, or watch the stars in the planetarium.

He’s had his fair share of tough experiences, and will offer any advice he can. Belphie will invite you to activities with him and Beel, keeping in mind any limitations you have.

He watches as you put your life on the line for others, constantly doing your best to protect them. He’s so proud of you. Proud that a fellow human, his adorable apprentice, can survive without him.

And it breaks his heart.

You don’t need him, like he needs you. You can take care of yourself, co-exist with demons and angels with ease. His invitations for you to spend time with him, “in case you need a human to remind you of home” are mere facades for his ache to be loved by you.
