Elriel Month // Hold Tight and Don’t Make a Sound
Tumblr media
Over the years, we have enjoyed many Elriel fics where either Azriel or Elain play the piano, so we thought we would take that idea in a sexier direction for today’s prompt. Of course we know Az is a music fan, but we’re pretty sure (and we think SJM would agree!) that his very favorite song will be Elain’s moans of pleasure 🥵

Me: minding my own business, getting ready for work
Brain: Feyre x bat boys foursome
Me: sighs, not right now ffs
Brain: Rhys sitting calmly in a chair with a drink in his hand while he slowly loses his mind with lust watching Az and Cass worship Feyre
Me: .... I'm listening

These people don't seem to understand you can be racist (even by accident) and not know it, that there will always be something to unlearn but if they cannot accept this very basic, "oh shit, I accidentally used an offensive term I didn't know was offensive, I will not use that phrase anymore and learn how to properly refer to poc" then they will never unlearn the racism they carry
That was like a huge part of my journey as a white person to learn that, especially being raised in a very racist household. I unlearned as much as I thought I "needed" in order to "be better" in my late teens/early twenties (I am 30 now) and back then when I realized I still carried around microaggressions, etc, I accepted that I will forever be unlearning the racism I was taught growing up from my family and institutionally.
Maybe this person will grow out of it, but there is a lot of growth that needs to happen there and it isn't the duty of poc to repeatedly educate them especially when they are being so resistant to accepting their fuck up.
Yeah, it's embarrassing or whatever ig to be caught being accidentally racist but maybe think about how poc feel being on the receiving end of that racism (which they deal with their whole entire lives). Maybe like get over yourself or something idk

Me: Don’t use black oppression to push your hate for fictional characters. As a black person I’m telling you that’s uncomfortable.
Lorcandidlucienwill: I don’t care there’s nothing wrong with using antiblackness and applying it to fiction.
Me: don’t use derogatory terms when talking about black people. The term “blacks” is a historical derogatory term that was popular during segregation and the Jim Crow days.
Lorcandidlucienwill: well it’s not like I’m saying the n word so it’s not a big deal. You people make everything racist.
Me: mocking the way black people feel towards derogatory terms being used to address them is ignorant and dismissing their feelings with “you people make everything racist” is racism. Using black oppression for your own benefit but in the next breath refusing to listen to black voices when they try to educate you about their oppression is disgusting.
Lorcandidlucienwill: w-w-well you’re just calling me racist because I don’t agree with you.
Ps. They also did say that shit about it not being that serious because they didn’t say the n word.

That person needs to take the L and understand that just because they didn’t know what they said was racist doesn’t mean it wasn’t racist
Learn the lesson and move on, don’t fight poc who are telling you what you said was wrong cos obviously you don’t know any better

Why are people blaming the IC (mainly Mor) for Nesta choosing to seduce Eris.
“Mor was also put in that situation so she should have protested for Nesta” well no. You do realize they came up with the idea, made it clear that this was something they were asking her to do and not demanding her to do, and it was Nesta who said “yeah I’ll do it” simply because she wanted to piss Cassian off?
Nesta is the one who put herself in the same position she was in growing up. She was the one who made the final choice to seduce Eris because Cassian was against it. Feyre was also against it. The two people who y’all criticize the most was against Nesta seducing Eris and it was Nesta’s decision to do it anyway because she wanted to be petty against Cassian for being “territorial”.
So I don’t understand why everyone else and Mor are being blamed for Nesta’s decision simply because you didn’t agree with that decision. It is not Mor’s job to take Nesta’s hand and essentially coddle her against every questionable thing she does. Nesta stepped back into the person that her mother and grandmother groomed her to be. It is not a stranger’s job to pull her out.
“She helped exploit Nesta” Nesta exploited herself actually to get a one up on Cassian.
If the IC had actually forbidden Nesta from dancing with Eris the conversations would have been “how the NC infantilizes and controls the Archeron sisters”.

🌸 Choice 🦇
“Elain shall wed for love and beauty” -ACOSF Chapter 4
“. . . that love would trump even a mating bond.” - ACOWAR Chapter 55
🌸🌸🌸🌸
For this @elriel-month prompt, I wanted to showcase one of my, and most Elriels, favorite theories/hopes for the Elriel book: a secret wedding between Azriel and Elain. Seeing them choose one another over fate and the powers that be would be such an epic, incredible, and powerful love story.

“If n.esta was a man, yall would love her.” Sweetie, n.esta being a woman is what’s allowing her grace and forgiveness with so many people. If feyre had an older brother slut shaming her and threatening to slit her throat and sitting on his useless ass while she was out hunting and then he degraded her while taking her food and money, he would be the most hated person in the fandom. Trust me, n.etsa being a woman and an “older sister” is what’s saving her and making her supposedly relatable to a majority female audience

I genuinely believe that Nesta has never loved anyone and is entirely incapable of living anyone, including herself. I do not believe that she loves Cassian; I think she feels the pull of the bond and the sexual attraction and just thinks it is love because she has no basis of what love is. And she will never know what love is because, again, I believe she is incapable of truly loving anyone.

I am insane and bought two copies of the OG covers (except ACOFAS had a diff cover in the Ukrainian version) and they are BEAUTIFUL. The titles on the Ukrainian books are shiny and beautiful! I am so excited to display these.

How are people out here denying Elain's friendship with Nuala & Cerridwen just because "they haven't seen it on the page"?
First of all, it is on the page:
Nesta refers to the wraiths as Elain's friends.
Elain cooks & bakes with them.
Elain buys solstice presents for them.
Nesta notes that Elain moves so quietly, it's like she's taking lessons from the wraiths.
It's clear they are friends. But obviously, why would we as readers get to experience the details and dynamics of their friendship when Feyre & Nesta's stories were the focus this far? It's not like Feyre/Nesta spent 10 pages of their books observing Elain's interaction with N&C 🙄
People are denying canon text and yet, somehow, based on ZERO canon evidence, apparently Elain is going to become besties with the BOE? Jurian & Vassa will become her "found family friendship trio"?
She hasn't even MET them. Vassa, I could maybe believe just based on pure theory because she's a human queen or whatever.
But to say Elain will become besties with JURIAN? The man who made gang r*pe joke about her?
Yeah. Ooookay.
Sometimes I wonder why people keep forcing her into some theory that she'll become besties with the BOE. And then I remember - right - it's the same people forcing her into a relationship with a male she doesn't want, Lucien.
Once again - proving the point that Eluciens don't really care about Elain nor do they think any book with her will truly feature her story, her friends, her family. She is but a vehicle to get Lucien's story told. All plots about an Elucien book are always about Lucien's story, his trauma, his healing, his family, his parentage, his friends, etc.
It's kind of sad.

Gwynriel Azriel and Elriel Azriel are not the same character.
That's why we can't agree.
Each side of this ship war has walked away with different interpretations of the shadowsinger and what he needs/wants.
Gwynriel shippers say he wants a mate more than anything.
Elriel shippers say he wants to be chosen more than anything.
Gwynriel shippers say his shadows disappearing is a bad thing.
Elriel shippers say his shadows disappearing means he's happy/relaxed.
And it makes sense that we walked away with such vastly different conclusions. We don't know that much about him. We are all working with limited information.
I'm sure there are many like me who, when they entered the online fandom and were exploring the different ships, found that the Azriel from the ship they weren't as into didn't match their interpretation of his character.
Like, for me, the one of the reasons I don't ship Gwynriel has nothing to do with Gwyn herself. It's because I just don't like Gwynriel Azriel. I don't care to read about a character like that and he doesn't match the Azriel I had in my head as I read the books. (although for the record, I'd still read the book. I just wouldn't be as excited about it)
However, I get that the opposite is true for a lot of people in this fandom. That's cool.
But that's all this is, guys. Like, do we really need to be assholes to each other about it?

Antis always try to use Azriel not wanting Elain to scary for the troves as proof that "he infantilizes her" or he's her Tamlin 🙄
Except they conveniently always cut out the very next sentence, which shows that Cassian also protests to Nesta having to scry for the troves.
Tumblr media
Does Cassian infantalize Nesta now too? Or is he simply showing concern for someone he has feelings for?
Not sure when it became a bad thing to have a MMC want to protect his love interest?
Not to mention, these are all different characters. Elain is not Nesta, she's not Feyre. She's untrained and was taken by the cauldron already - of course Azriel wouldn't want her near the troves? Mans the only one with sense in that court ffs 😭
Also, Azriel just doesn't want her near the cauldron. If he were truly Elain's Tamlin - why did he give her truthteller? You don't hand someone your most precious weapon if you see them as incapable of wielding it. He could've just winnowed her back to the NC if he truly didn't think she was capable of defending herself. He didn't.
Acting like Azriel is suddenly a villain or Tamlin-esque is so crazy because he's literally showing the same protective instincts of a mate, and people are just mad he's protective of Elain, not Nesta's friend from gym class.
