I’m closeted

So I’ve never said I’m gay to my family because I don’t want to bring it up if I don’t have to, especially because it’s still confusing to me and I wouldn’t explain it well nor am I good with feelings. Now my mom keeps saying how she is liberal and open and will always love me(which she always does but tonight it was super confusing like she wanted me to say something) but I still don’t want to bring it up unless I think the time is right(which isn’t right now). Any way. Thought I would put this somewhere because does/did anybody's mom do this or is it just mine? It’s awkward.
