I know the trope has been done to death, but I still really enjoy funny music undercutting dramatic chase/fight scenes.

I was playing episode 1 of season 2 today, And it's one long terrifying horror sequence of being chased by fast zombs and being walled in.

I've just got into the bit where I've sprinted up the skyscraper stairs, I have to jump across to a second building, and I hear the alert:

*zombies detected*

And I have to sprint just as Jimmy Buffett's "Cheeseburger in Paradise" comes on my playlist.

So in real time, it's midnight (I'm a night runner) and I'm sprinting alongside of freeway. City buses are zipping past me while in the app, zombies are growling in my ear. And slightly muffled, I hear Jimmy crooning "tried to amend my carnivorous habits, made it nearly 70 days".

Made my whole run. 💖 I'll never hear that song the same way again.

funny story after today's run (well first off, VERONICA MY LOVE STOP MAKING ME SAD)

so I've been letting a friend use my account to see if they like the app, they're on s1m10 right now. as i got home from my run, i got one of those emails from sam that started off pretty relevant to the mission i'd just been on, but then mentioned runner eight. and i was like hang on. what. whomst. how.

anyhow it took me too long to realize the email was triggered by my friend's run and not mine, so i got an eight jumpscare and was very worried that five now has two women in their head making trouble.

Why is everyone walking in unison?

I hope Van Ark is truly dead but maybe he isn’t. I can’t guess anymore with this game.

I can't stop thinking about a Eurovision-esq competition between settlements in the Zombies Run universe.

I think Sam would be absolutely dedicated to making an incredibly chaotic, amazing entry for Abel. Janine would want to enter something refined and subtle, to Sam's horror and dismay. Depending on the season, Abel and New Canton would either be intense rivals or always give 12 points to each other regardless of how bad the songs are.

***Spoilers for Zombies, Run! Season Five***

Hey fam, Long time no see! I am alive!! I cut off all my hair! If you missed it, I'm using they/them pronouns pretty much all the time now, and have come out as nonbinary to my core group of humans. She/her is still cool if we've talked about it, but otherwise I prefer they/them! I also highkey want to punch Ian motherfucking Golightly in the face. He BETTER go fucking lightly from now on I sWEAR. I literally did not think he could do something to make me hate him more than I already did and here I stand at the end of today's episode proven very wrong because god have mercy on him if Sara is waiting for him in the afterlife after all he has fucking done to us.

But yeah. Last time I posted was way back in episode seven. And obvs now I'm in episode 18 so a LOT has happened. Mainly I'm now back in Abel and pseudo working for the Minister. But also everything that happened prior to that with Amelia betraying us betraying her betraying the Minister was hilarious as hell. At the time I remember texting Catty absolutely FURIOUS with Amelia for betraying us to the minister, but as always Janine was thinking five steps ahead of me and everything worked out exactly like she planned.

As for me getting mildly kidnapped and then put in jail with Steve being like "Just play along and be Sigrid's little loyal pet so we can break into the labs under Abel and stop her from doing exactly that so we can take Abel back", I was suspicious as hell and very lenient about this plan. Mostly because I didn't want anyone in Abel to think I actually had betrayed them, but knew I was going to have to play the hell out of that part to make Sigrid believe I had turned. I of course trust Steve very very much (which like damn this app making me have so many feelings about the same character. If you had asked me a couple months ago my thoughts on Steve they would have been the exact opposite).

When we went out after Owen, I was half convinced Tom had actually slipped into one of his episodes, so when he actually leaned close and whispered in Five's ear as gentle as could be, I did a double take as he slipped the stuff in my pocket. Him and Janine bring me such joy as characters, when they work together I really admire them both. I'm really glad we got him out.

I'm really upset with Ian. I knew it was a bad idea to leave him in charge when Sigrid left. I knew it was a bad idea letting Steve take the blame for being the traitor. I just. I didn't expect him to do this, as much as I hate the guy, this was farther than he's ever gone before and. It's just really sad because like. Five was there when we met Owen, saving him from the tracks when Sara left him. They were there when Amelia was on her bullshit and set him on fire. They were there when he got shot in the leg and they helped get him back to Abel safe. They've always been there, and we were *right* there this time too. And it all happened so fast there was nothing we could do. It just breaks my heart. Can Five get a little break from the trauma, as a treat? Can they please stop watching everyone they are remotely close to be murdered or killed by practically anything and everything BUT zombies?! I swear to Sara. Actually, God better have mercy on Ian Golightly when he reaches the afterlife, because lord knows Sara won't after all the bullshit he has put us through. But I guess we'll see where this goes next episode...

I literally yelled out "NO!" and covered my mouth in shock when Ian hit Steve. I thought he had killed him too. I think the couple that was walking nearby as I was sprinting thought something was very wrong lmao. This damn app.

Anyways hi hello, I'm alive, happy to be back to posting after the craziness that's been the last handful of weeks. I am finally off a lot of the medicine that was impacting my ability to run/my stamina, so I'm hoping to get back to running more again soon! I also got procreate and am doing digital art for the first time, which is very different from watercolor and ink on paper like I'm used too, but I'm having a blast and hoping to learn how to draw characters soon because I really want to draw my Five, as well as other characters! Hope yall are well :)

hello fellow runners five/runner fives/idk, some of you seemed amused by my m36 post and i’m having fun and your :)s and shit are making me nervous so i thought i’d post some predictions/thoughts about the rest of s2 ranging from totally serious to not serious at all. i’m just gonna jot them down as they come to me and post this before i play m37. pls don’t say if they’re right or not tho

-8′s “dog bite” is actually a zombie bite and van ark gave her some experimental long term treatment for it. this one’s pretty serious but it’d also balance nicely with paula if she’s on his side purely because she believes in his cause so idk.

-alternately she volunteered for one of his experiments and her version turned out to be more stable and van arc’s and paula’s

-i think she might die? whether van ark lets her turn, she’s killed by the prisoners, 5 or another runner kill her in a fight, or something else, idk. i just kinda Have A Feeling. i hope not though, i am mad but i also think she’ll be a fun antagonist so i want her to hang around for a while.

-i don’t think anything’s gonna happen with paula anytime soon, but i’m starting to lose faith in her. i mean, she didn’t have to go through with the sabotage, even if she wanted to rescue 5. she also could’ve escaped with them, if 5 had time to get away so did she. van ark wouldn’t have found out she didn’t do it until they were both long gone.

-whatever was on that ship 8 was on comes back to bite abel and new canton in the ass. i’ve been Anticipating this since that mission but idk. it looks like the prison is gonna be the whole final arc of the season so unless it’s near the ocean i’m not sure how it would. then again “a disaster happens at abel while you’re gone and can’t get back” seems very in line for this game. anyway, i’ll be surprised if nothing ever comes of that

-the informant is someone from that ship. i still don’t know what happened to them and this is another thing i’d be surprised if nothing ever came of. maybe the captain, he seemed extra shady.

-8 kills the informant to keep them quiet and pins it on 5. i’m almost sure she’s gonna kill them, i mean, why wouldn’t she? she has everything to gain and nothing to lose. i’m sure most of abel (except maybe sam) will believe her over 5, she’s been there longer so i’m sure they trust her more. and she’s the major’s favorite 🙄

-i don’t really trust the major either but i don’t have much to say about that i just don’t like powerful people who hide things and are willing to sacrifice kids

-8 tries to kill 5? whether directly or just abandoning them in the prison, again, why wouldn’t she? 5′s the only one who knows for sure she’s the traitor. it does seem like van ark wants 5 alive though but like, i could be wrong or she might do it anyway, she seems to be building up to loose cannon territory.

-i don’t think abel will fall two seasons in a row but i wasn’t expecting the first one either sooooo... i dunno, 7 comes back, loses control of his plane/gets shot out of the sky, and crashes into the township ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

-i do think 7 might come back at some point, but probably not this season

-“new canton gets rocket launchered by zombies” is too repetitive to happen but again, wasn’t expecting it the first time (i mean, i was expecting the rocket launchers to come back, but it was one of those super fun slow horrific realizations as it was happening). i wouldn’t be super surprised if it fell at some point though. it’d be pretty disastrous, there’s no way abel can take in every new canton resident.

-most likely though, i think 5 will end season 2 trapped in the prison or in van ark’s custody, with no way to contact abel. so no way to know if something happens to either town.

-also not a lot to say about this but i’m very excited to see what’s up with zombie len. obviously something’s different about him and i can’t wait to find out what it is
