i don't know why but i've found that a lot of autistic people, myself and my wee brother included, seem to love the film spirit: stallion of the cimarron. why is that? is it because the film showcases non-verbal communication, were we all just hyperfixated on horses as kids, or is it because the soundtrack fucking slaps???

You've done transmac cars, what about transfem?
I've indeed done transmasc cars, so sure, what's the point in pretending I'm better than that.
As explained in the post above, I feel like for a car to be trans it has to have undergone an aesthetic transformation of some sort - so this post will be about cars that changed face (before to the left, after to the right).
While some voted it most transmasc car of the post and it literally started off with a female name, I actually think the Onevia looks a bit more transfem to me (that's one sentence for the "how did my life end up here" folder).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But there's one more front end alteration with its own name these cars have under their belt.
Enter Mitsuoka, a small Japanese car manufacturer that mostly specializes in taking cars that just aren't weird enough and solving that problem. Indeed, they worked on that Silvia too, turning it into the Mitsuoka Le-Seyde - but I'd rather show you the newer version, based on the last Silvia generation, because I feel like the contrast it offers is genuinely unmatched.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep.
And I know what you're thinking - where in the absolute pants did they get this idea? Oh, you're gonna love this one: from Zimmer, an American company founded in the 80s to do exactly that to the Mustang!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zimmer went bankrupt in '88.
And then was bought up by Art Zimmer (no prior relation) and did the exact same thing to the newer Mustang!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and to the Town car!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zimmer ceased production again in 2020. "Why?", I cannot fathom anyone wondering. Well, simple: they made the silly mistake of not being in Japan, where Mitsuoka is still thriving doing stuff like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, speaking of Mitsuoka, you really need to see what they ended up with when they put their hands on the Honda NSX platform (creating a concept that however would reach production as a fully unique car).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And if you thought this couldn't get any better, the two cars above are called, respectively, Galue and Orochi. Wow.
To finish, I would like to submit one I'm not sure can compete but I like too much not to mention: the Pit Crew nose kit for the first generation Mazda Miata!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't include the inspiration for the Dias Classic (which annoyingly seems to have a sweep going on for itself in the poll), the Subaru Vivio Bistro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as a treat for y'all, I found one modified in bosozoku style.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't believe this poll deserves a larger sample size, but you can reblog this post if like me you think it would at least be really funny.
Links in blue are posts of mine explaining the words in question - if you liked this post, you might like those!

Why It Worked: Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron
Tumblr media
Introduction: Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is an animated western film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by DreamWorks Pictures. Directed by the late-great Kelly Asbury with Lorna Cook serving as co-director, the film stars the voice talents of Matt Damon, Daniel Studi, James Cromwell, Chopper Bernet, Jeff LeBeau and Frank Welker; with musice provided by Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams. The film was released on May 24, 2002 and while it didn’t do great at the box office (only making $122.6 million worldwide on a budget of $80 million), it recieved fairly positive reviews with 69% out of 127 reviews aggregated by Rotten Tomatoes giving an average rating of 6.4/10. In the 20 years since its release, it has gain a cult following as well as a spin-off show on Netflix called Spirit Riding Free. The show became so popular that is spawning a standalone sequel to the film called Spirit Untamed, released on June 4, 2021. I’ve always really liked this film and it stands as one of my favorite films by DreamWorks Animation. I’m so glad to talk about why I adore this film and what makes it stand out from animated films before or since its release.
Tumblr media
The Plot: Set in the American old West, this film follows the journey of a yellow mustang who’s taken from his herd and must find his way back home. Along the way he meets a young Lakota man called Little Creek, an American Paint Horse called Rain, and a calm yet authoritaritve Colonel. Right away the film hooks the audience with an amazing 3 minute shot of an eagle flying threw a canyon with Hans Zimmer’s score beautifully caputring the majesty of the West. This is just the tip of the iceberge as this film as it maintains that majestic tone throughout the film. Even though the film is 84 minutes long, it makes every second count by having scenes devoid of any dialogue and just let the moment speak for itself. Scenes like Spirit and Rain getting to know each other and Spirit and Little Creek making a mighty jump across a canyon are all the more powerful due to the lack of dialogue. In addition to that there are a good number of funny moments, which feel natural and also really funny. Spirit messing with Murph, the blacksmith, and Little Creek getting doused in face paint are amoung the funniest moments in the film due to how well timed and executed they are. The animation plays a crucial role in making the story so grand. The horses are designed wonderfully with strong builds, accurate anatomy (without drawing any of the undercarriages due to this being for kids) and very expressive faces. The humans all have natural yet appealing and distinctive designs, with the military having strong blue uniforms that makes them distinct from the native Lakota tribe. The characters have natural movements to them with excellent running and trotting animation on the horses and more subtle movements from the humans. I also really like the backgrounds as they make the film look like a painting. The colors are bright and vibrant, the textures are well detailed and the 2D and 3D elements complent each other beautifully. The story of this film can best be described as awe inspiring because of how well they made this world feel timeless.
Tumblr media
Cast and Characters: There’s really only 4 characters that play key roles in the film, but their lack in numbers does not negate their importance. Starting with our titular hero, Spirit is a curious, brave and determined horse who want to get back to his herd after he’s captured. While on his journey, he shows that he’s unselfish and caring by freeing military horse whenever he gets the chance. Little Creek is a young, clever and determined Lakota man who Spirit meets at the military camp. They don’t get along at first, but Little Creek’s determination impresses Spirit and they eventually grow to respect each other. Rain is a smart, stubborn and well mannered mare who has a good relationship with Little Creek. Her and Spirit start off at odds, but the more time he spends with her, the more they fine that they were mean to be. Then there’s the Colonel, the main antagonist of the film and the antithosis to Spirit’s ideals. While Spirit values the beauty of freedom, the Colonel is all about order and control. The Colonel is calm and collected, yet he’s full of authority and his men obey his whim without question. The supporting cast is even fewer than the main cast, but they still have their importance in the story such as Spirit’s Mom, Esperana, taking care of the herd while Spirit is away, the eagle that Spirit races with, and Murph who Spirit messes with much to the audience’s amusement. The characters are brought to life by the stellar acting and sound design on display. While Spirit himself doesn’t speak, his narration is provide by Matt Damon, who give his voice a brash yet wise and honest tone. Daniel Studi did a great job voicing Little Creek, making him sound so confident and clever. James Cromwell did an excellent job voicing the Colonel, making him sound calm yet fully of authority. They did a great job implimenting real horse noises into the film as they give Spirit and they other horses such a wide range of emotions. Jeff LeBeau, Chopper Bernet and Frank Welker also did really good jobs as Murph, the Sargent and the eagle respectively. I’d be remissing myself if I didn’t give credit to young Meredith Wells (daughter of Prince of Egypt co-director Simon Wells) for her adorable delivery of “Bye Bye horsey!” as the little Lakota baby. That was so adorable that it was used in trailers to promote the film. The cast may be small, but what they lack in numbers they make up for in great importance.
Tumblr media
Songs and Music: Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams made an absolutely killer soundtrack with this film. Hans’ score incorperates some great piano cues and heavy uses of brass instruments and a string orcastra, Bryan Adams sings 6 songs in the film that act as a secondary voice for Spirit. Here I Am perfectly introduces Spirit as a curious young colt who’s so amazed by the world around him. You Can’t Take Me captures his worry as he’s captured and his longing to go home. Get Off of My Back is a banging rock song that capture’s Spirit’s cocky attitude towards the soliders trying (and hilariously failing) to break him. Sound The Bugle is a somber track that describes Spirit’s defeated state when he’s captured again. Then there’s I Will Always Return, which serves as a celebratory ballad of Spirit returning home with a newfound appreciation for his freedom. The final song that plays during the credits is a beautiful duet with the late Sarah MacCallan called Don’t Let Go, which is a love ballad describing hanging on to this tender moment between lovers. The soundtrack really makes this film standout and it would feel empty without it.
Tumblr media
Where It Falters: 👆 Yeah this one comment is this only critque I have with the film. Casual sexism is not okay and we shouldn't excuse comments like this. This is yet another example of what NOT to say to/about a woman. Scoffing at a woman for being protective and impling all women are like this is definitely sexist and should not be tolerated. I'm glad we're smarter now and are putting in more effort to respect women.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is an absolutely fantastic film that holds up really well after 20 years. With an epic story, fantastic soundtrack, wonderful animation and a really strong cast of characters, this film remains one of the highlights of DreamWorks Animation's history. If you haven't seen it yet, definitely check it out. And if you're a fan of Spirit Riding Free or Spirit Untamed, then you should definitely check this out. Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you soon ;)

Re-engineered, Custom Made Mustangs Cars Enjoying High Demand in Market
There is a saying that legends never die. That seems true about erstwhile-era muscle car Mustangs too, as they are resurrected with all their glamour in a new look and feel as demand is swelling from the rich and glamorous for classic cars.
The genius of a reliable fabrication shop and custom vehicle facility like the Dark Custom Horse, based in Bozeman, Montana, must be saluted for this feat. Not only Mustangs, they also offer the customized transformation of many other cars as well.
Tumblr media
This refurbished car reworking is a thriving sub-segment of the auto industry. There are committed admirers of Mustangs who love their romantic nostalgia and keep the industry vibrant.
The muscular Mustang tops the list of convertible supercars in the US. Custom cars are a high-value market where specialized work involves turning muscle cars or supercars into new cars full of personality.
The demand for reengineered Mustangs by Ford comes from the rich and famous, who love fast and stylish cars with a due transformation of the interiors and exteriors. The refurbishing work, in the industry lexicon, is called “pimping the ride,” implying selective transformation of the automobile with more aesthetic value.
Mustangs are loved for a variety of reasons. It combines stylish looks, great performance, and a unique muscle car sound. The Ford Mustang, around since 1964, will work with classic V8 engines to the latest turbo engines.
With great styling Mustangs can wear classic muscle car looks to sleekest modern designs. The greatest attraction about Mustangs is their flexibility to customize to fit any personal style, with options for exterior and interior upgrades. The easy availability of performance parts and aftermarket parts makes Mustangs the most customizable automobile.
Tumblr media
In a way, the transformation work on classic cars by Dark Horse Customs and others is similar to the Zimmer Mustang trend, where the reworked Mustang by Zimmer Company commanded premium demand. Zimmer became famous for its specialized work in creating pre-depression-era, neoclassic-inspired cars. They are strong in Mustang fabrications in addition to Lincoln Town Cars.
For the rich and famous, cars are more than a structure to travel around; they are a statement of their emotions and persona. That drives their desire to make cars an extension of themselves and a fashion statement. The affluent minority looks for more value in addition to the basic design and decals of their car and are ready to splurge money to “tweak their car.”

Back on July 5th i uploaded a SHORT reaction video about Spirit Untamed along with my review of the movie, The TV series and Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron in the description box. It got a little too long (over 5000) and had to shorten it down just for a little bit. So here’s the re-edited version of my review of Spirit Untamed
Spirit Untamed.... people are having mixed reactions about the movie. As for me...i'm not going to see it and the reason is because they decided to reboot the first episode of the TV series Riding Free and not a sequel to the 2002 Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron. I was 12 years old when Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron came out into theatres. I didn't see it in theatres but have watched it on VHS and still have the copy to this day. When the first time I saw anything about Spirit I was amazed by the animation, music, characters, etc and loved it even more when i watched the film. I also have a love for horses, since they are my favorite animals and my Chinese zodiac sign and Spirit gave me a love of horses even more. Spirit was made over the course of four years of a blend of traditional hand-drawn animation and computer. James Baxter who famously animated Who Framed Roger, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Prince of Egypt, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Wolf Walkers and many more also animated Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron.
He animated different expressions for the horses and mentioned that Spirit was the most difficult piece of animation that he has done. They also brought in a real Kiger Mustang horse named "Donner" renamed "Spirit" as a model for the movie. The other animators studied the horse(s) anatomy, movements featuring hoof beats and vocals that were used to express their vocals in the film. That's right...the horses don't talk in this movie...but you can imagine what the horses are saying in your mind. The music of course was composed by none other than Hans Zimmer himself with songs by Bryan Adams who became the horse(s) voice in song during the film. Matt Damon did the voice of Spirit even though Spirit didn't actually talk. Now I've wanted to see a Spirit 2 movie for a LONG TIME...then years later and was quite surprised that DreamWorks did a TV series of Spirit: Riding Free.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the show. I didn't like how the animation looked, including the horses and didn't know that this "Spirit" character was actually the son of Spirit and Rain from 2002. This version of Spirit was a clone of Spirit with just a stripe which doesn't resemble his mother Rain. If there was a reanimation of Spirit and Rain's son or daughter, they would have done the version from the Breyer Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron figurines that also had the baby figurine that has markings of BOTH Spirit and Rain. Also Spirit Riding Free ruined the tagline from Spirit "Some spirits can't be broken" and decided to give Spirit a rider throughout the series while in S:SOTC Spirit gets captured by the Army and tries to break him including the Colonel and thinks that he successfully tamed Spirit and tells the others of speaking his idea of how any wild horse can be tamed but becomes unsuccessful as Spirit finally throws him off.  During the film Spirit and Little Creek had a TRUE bond, even though Spirit is a wild mustang. Even in the end when Little Creek names the stallion the "Spirit-Who-Could-Not-Be-Broken" and sets both Spirit and Rain, Spirit will never forget him and how both Spirit and Little Creek won their freedom together.
One other thing i would like to point out for Spirit Riding Free, they don’t show or even mention the names of Spirit and Rain during the entire show run except for the one flashback episode "Fast Friends: Lucky & Spirit Meet for the FIRST Time!" (didn’t like how Spirit and Rain looked). It was earlier this year that I saw on Wiki that it was announced that in Oct 2019 a “new” Spirit movie will be released on May 14,2021 then got changed to June 4, 2021 and finally after many years, (not sure of what my reaction was) but was excited to see a Spirit 2 movie. When the trailer was released, it was revealed as a reboot of the first episode of the TV series Riding Free. When I saw the trailer, I was not happy that the movie was going to be a reboot of the tv series, not an original story from the 2002 movie. It would have been nice to see a movie without modern day politics and agenda. Maybe that’s why the colonists/Native Americans were no longer in Riding Free and Untamed. The production along with animation was done during the pandemic.
They decided to dedicate it to the memory of Kelly Asbury, the co-director of the original Spirit film, who died on June 26, 2020. So that’s one positive thing. I wasn’t thrilled about the animation of how the horses looked (including their faces) and could have worked a little better on the human characters. When they created Lucky they followed the modern day standards not the period of time which Spirit universe and also don’t quite match up between original movie and show if Spirit is the father of Spirit Jr. Which also makes the period of time even more confusing. I have been told that on average horses live long enough (For Example: The real Spirit who lives in the Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in Cali is 26 years old!) but the complete disappearance of colonialists and them being replaced with settlers is never explained. also it’s weird to make the colonel and his goons disappear into thin air.
They would have made better villains than the random horse wranglers-thugs Lucky and her friends had to deal with. But they did change the ending...which i’m not spoiling it. But I did like the different color schemes for the different horses. My advice is to just watch the original. You can love Untamed/Riding Free or not love it and I won't judge, just don’t make nasty comments. This is my honest review about Spirit Untamed and a little bit of Riding Free and I hope you enjoyed it and if you did, comment, like, subscribe and hit the bell for future videos. Until next time, safe traveling everyone. Bye!

Hi :) I saw one of your older posts asking for Darrow/RR related song recommendations, and your Good 👌 Darrow/Mustang posts have put me in a mood. My favourite song for them has always been “Earth” by Hans Zimmer. Although it doesn’t have lyrics (it’s from the Gladiator soundtrack) it captures the sense of fascination they feel for the other. Hope you enjoy :)
You just made my day very beautiful! Thank you for the song rec. I really appreciate it!https://youtu.be/6AMnOFmwMSsHere is the link for this exquisite song. It is very...profound and sweet. It matches Reaper x Mustang and their love for each other. Powerful and suave.

2022 BMW i4 performance, range and other specs revealed with new pictures
While BMW sales are now dominated by crossovers, there’s no denying that the brand’s history and fanfare are dominated by sedans. That makes the 2022 BMW i4 revealed today with full specs and photos the most important electrified Bimmer yet.
In a way, you could think of it as an all-electric 4 Series Gran Coupe. Its name and interior design would back that up, as would its coupe-like body that stretches just a bit longer than the 3 Series sedan’s at 188.3 inches versus 182.7. It’s also an inch wider (72.9) and 0.6 inch shorter (57.0). Despite a loftier ride height, its skateboard-style battery pack results in a center of gravity that’s either 1.3 or 2.1 inches lower depending on the flavor of i4 you choose.
Speaking of which, there will be two models: the i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50. They share a common 81.5-kilowatt (usable) battery pack, but their motors differ. The base eDrive40 has a single rear motor with integrated single speed transmission that produces 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The M50 has motors front and rear for effective all-wheel drive. The front motor, again with an integrated one-speed transmission, has 255 hp, while the rear motor has 308. Together, they produce a total system output of 536 hp and 586 lb-ft. The M50’s Sport Boost function can then provide a 10-second jolt of 67 extra horses and 48 more pound-feet – and in a feature slightly comparable to Mario Kart, you can keep on pressing the Sport Boost button as long as the battery allows.
Launch control is standard on both, resulting in 0-100 km/h (62 mph) times of 3.9 seconds for the M50 and 5.7 seconds for the eDrive40. Shave off a tenth or two for a good-old American 0-60 time.
BMW estimates the eDrive40 will travel 300 miles on a charge, while the i4 M50 will go 245 miles. These are comparable to the Ford Mustang Mach-E as one example, but are less than a Tesla Model 3. Both models have a DC fast charging capacity of up to 200 kW that can gain 90 miles in 10 minutes. You can also recharge using a Level 2 charger from totally empty to full in 8 hours.
Drivers will have a choice of three levels of regenerative braking, including a high setting comparable to what electrified BMWs have provided going back to the original electric Mini Cooper. If you’re a fan of one-pedal driving (we are), the i4 should make you happy. However, it also offers a coasting function for those so inclined and ups the ante with an adaptive brake energy recuperation function that takes into account myriad inputs to vary recuperation and braking according. Frankly, BMW’s description of this feature is confusing and is probably something better described once we get a chance to try it out in person. The same goes for the i4’s Level 2 driver assistance system, which integrates speed limits and navigation route guidance inputs into the optional adaptive cruise control system.
To make up for the lack of zesty internal combustion noises, the i4 features “an unmistakable, model-specific acoustic experience” from startup to full throttle, developed in collaboration between BMW and Academy Award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer. We’ll see if “BMW i4” shows up after “No Time to Die” in his IMDb profile.
Tumblr media
In terms of old-fashioned BMW concerns like “handling” and “steering,” every i4 includes a double-joint spring strut front axle, a five-link rear, load-leveling rear air suspension and an adaptive “lift-related” shock system. The latter is a speed-dependent system that reduces body motions and vibrations. The adaptive M suspension standard on M50 and optional on eDrive40 is a driver-selectable system with different modes, much as you’d find in most other BMWs. Steering is speed-sensitive with two settings of Comfort and Sport, while the variable sport steering upgrade (standard M50, optional eDrive40) is a speed-sensitive variable ratio system.
As the first fully electric car tuned by BMW M GmbH, the M50 features additional upgrades over the eDrive40, including an additional brace fitted between the two strut towers, special anti-roll bars, M Sport brakes and lighter-weight wheels measuring 19 or 20 inches. It’s also tuned to be rear-biased in its power delivery despite having the front motor, and its weight distribution is closer to the 50/50 BMW ideal at 48.1/51.9 (versus 45.1/54.9). Visually, the M50 differs with a unique front bumper and Cerium Grey trim applied to the grille, mirror caps and rear bumper. Other bits and pieces are painted gloss black, while the trunk lid gets an M-specific spoiler.
As for the overall design, the i4 obviously descends from the beaver branch of the evolutionary tree. Without a trace of irony, the press release proudly declares that the “BMW kidney grille … is largely blocked off due to the small amount of cooling air required by the electric drive components.” For that small amount of cooling, an active air flap adjusts in 10 stages to provide air precisely to the areas that need it.

The interior is basically the same as a regular 3/4 Series but with the hatchback trunk lid of a Gran Coupe and the iX’s enormous, curved infotainment display applied to the dash. Consisting of a 14.9-inch central display and 12.3-inch information display behind the wheel, the two are connected behind a single frameless glass surface. A head-up display is also included and is apparently better integrated with the main displays below. All are controlled via the next-generation iDrive 8 interface (the 3/4 Series has iDrive 7), which includes new displays, controls and data processing. It also has new natural speed recognition voice commands and over-the-air updates.
Other features include a new climate control system that can automatically integrate the heated and ventilated seats into your temperature selection, and that also considers the number of passengers aboard and where they’re sitting. The glass roof comes standard and features a slide/tilt sunroof portion up front, while optional ambient lighting helps spruce the cabin up beyond what is otherwise a rather disappointing recycle of the 3/4 Series.
The 2022 BMW i4 will go on sale in early 2022 with a starting price of $56,395 for the eDrive40 and $66,895 for the M50 (both include the $995 destination charge). BMW still has EV tax credits available to it, so you can basically slash $7,500 from those figures plus other state-level incentives.
It’s also worth noting that BMW went out of its way to make the i4 eco friendly in more ways than just its lack of burning gasoline. To ensure high environmental, sustainability and human rights standards, BMW directly obtains the cobalt used in its battery packs before turning it over to suppliers, while also monitoring where the lithium is sourced. The company also says the electric motors do not use rare earth metals and that recycled plastics are used for many components. Finally, BMW is partnering with EVgo fast charging network that relies on 100% renewable energy. Buyers and leasees of the i4 will receive $100 in EVgo charging credits.
