So I was going through your blog (again) and found some of your stuff mentions fsau Raz having ADHD, as somebody with adhd I’m intrigued, may I have some of those headcanons (canons??) related to that? Also, I would give “a penny for your thoughts” but I’m out of pennies, so here’s various images of a drawing of ur blorbo I put next to my animals, note that a rock had to be added in one picture to keep him from flying away (BONUS: his now permanent place with the wifi guardian frog)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTHING brings me more joy than seeing physical drawings of these guys, like, out and about. in situations. thank you for this gift, and ALSO for the great ask because it's a perfect chance to ramble
so first of all, canon Raz having ADHD is very real to me. he's constantly fidgeting and moving around, getting distracted by sidequests and scavenger hunt objectives, always talking to himself out loud, gotta write everything down so he remembers it because there's so much to DO!, running away from home because his dad yelled at him one time and now Raz assumes he must hate him forever... i could go on, but i think there's a lot of room for interpretation there!
in my headcanon, he never got diagnosed as a kid. maybe there were some notes about it in his reports each year, sure - but a little hyperactivity and distractability never seemed to slow him down. he excelled in lessons and on missions, and when he was with his family their performances gave him something to focus that energy into. it was only really when he turned 18 and graduated to a full agent that the cracks started to show.
Tumblr media
because there's a big difference between the responsibilities you have as a minor, and the responsibilities you have as an 18-year-old living away from home! one who's expected to cook and clean for themselves, and take care of adult life stuff, and also work the 9-to-5 office job he's just graduated into that involves sitting in front of a computer and write reports all day.
short-term, he found he could get himself to power through a deadline with energy drinks and psi-pops (a lot of psi-pops...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
long-term, something had to give. he was working himself to exhaustion, constantly stressed, swinging between days spent staring at his computer screen doing nothing and all-nighters desperately trying to finish his paperwork before the deadline. it just didn't make any sense to him. he'd finally started his job as a Psychonaut, he was living independently like he'd always dreamed, he'd gotten top surgery after planning it for so long. he should have everything he ever wanted. why wasn't he happy?
following a deep post-surgical depression, about a month before his 19th birthday Raz was living out of his car, couch-surfing or sleeping in his office. he got kicked out of his apartment after falling behind on bills and rent. it wasn't that he didn't have the money, it was all just too much for him to stay on top of.
he'd probably have stayed in that misery hole for a lot longer if Frazie hadn't marched into his life and demanded he let her help him move into a new place, or she was telling mom that he was homeless. together, they sorted through all of his possessions from the last place - everything that had been hastily shoved in his car, or tossed in a box in his office, piled in a heap that was giving him anxiety even looking at it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
things do get better for him from there.
when he eventually explains things to Hollis, she gently suggests that he should get a roommate. he ends up moving in with Phoebe, and they become pretty good friends after a couple months! something about having another person around to help do the chores and wash the dishes and share the space helps, even if it takes him a while to admit it.
he gets his ADHD diagnosis, and finding the exact right medication and dose is a journey he's still on years later - but they're a huge help in getting him to actually knuckle down and finish his work on time. and the whole thing ends up being a chance for him to take a step back and really think about what he wants to do with his life. he'd always assumed that being a Psychonaut was his dream, but he'd never really reckoned with what that dream would look like before.
in the end, he sticks with it, but also decides to follow Lili's example in branching out. he applies to study a part-time Bachelor's in Psychology on a remote course, and gets accepted. juggling missions and paperwork and study and relationships (because the whole thing made him realise he also wasn't setting aside any time for himself, and wow, dating is a thing) is a lot - but he manages to figure it out, day by day.
(Lili comes back to the Psychonauts after graduating. she and Raz have both changed a lot over those four years, but on their first mission together they hit it off like a house on fire - and the rest is history!)

Astrology observations 🤍🤍🤍

It’s astrology tea time again! 😁
Tumblr media
🤍🤍 Aquarius Moon women can end up being labelled as “too weird to date” by their partner. Their partner can view them as following odd, weird practices that they don’t resonate with.
🤍🤍 If you have Venus in the 10th house synastry overlay with a romantic partner, your or their parents highly encouraged this relationship, because you seem like you have similar values and believe in similar things. They might even help you two come together in a romantic union, like set you up, even try to arrange marriage.
🤍🤍 Aries Moon women can often end up being a part of a love triangle unknowingly or put through that by their favourite person. Like Selena Gomez (Aries Moon) with Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Bieber. Or if you are familiar with Youtube/TikTok stars Eva Gutowski (Aries Moon) with Brent Riviera and Pierson. Or even Angelina Jolie (Aries Moon) with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
🤍🤍 You can get bullied for things connected with your Sun sign and house. If you are a Gemini Sun, people who try to tear you down, might try to say you have fat fingers or hands that are too long, that you voice is annoying etc. If you have Sun in the 10th house (bones and teeth) people can see you have weird teeth when they are trying to insult you.
🤍🤍 Pluto in the 3rd house people often try to justify their opinion, view by stating where or what they studied/where they went to school. 😂 It’s like “no trust me bro, I studied law” with everything they say and try to justify.
🤍🤍 In Ascendant in the 8th house synastry overlay, you as the Ascendant person you will notice every little change in this person’s appearance, like a new haircut, but even little details, like they changed the colour of their leather watch belt etc. You will be perceiving all the little details about their appearance A LOT.
🤍🤍 Gemini Chiron and Gemini/Virgo Lilith are people who are most likely to falsify a family member’s signature at any point in life (not just as children), even as adults.
🤍🤍 Speaking of Gemini Chiron, these people get often “shamed” if they don’t own a car and use public transportation. If they do own a car, they are fans of car sharing as well.
🤍🤍 Sagittarius Part of Fortune people understand themselves better while teach a sibling/a friend/a parent/ a child something. Finally, they understand better how their mind works.
🤍🤍 8th house synastry leads to a lot of self-censoring. Like “I’m not gonna say this about myself or reveal this, because this person might think I’m weird”.
🤍🤍 6th house shows transition to adulthood. So how you were as a young adult. For example if you have Venus in the 6th house: you were patient and kind young adult.
🤍🤍 Taurus Venus wants a romantic partner that has similar personality, values and also lifestyle, so habits. And someone who works actively and hard to maintain a loving relationship. Because they are so stubborn to change, so they will not change for anyone’s sake.
🤍🤍 Gemini Moon or Moon in the 3rd house either doesn’t text with emojis at all or tries to tell a story with emojis only like: 🚴‍♂️🏔☀️😁
🤍🤍 Sagittarius Chiron and Chiron in the 9th house are all over the place. 😅 They lack direction, because of constantly doing a lot of things at once. Chiron in the 11th house also needs to learn to be alone. You guys learn independence and not relying on groups of people to fuel your confidence.
🤍🤍 Scorpio Vertex or Vertex in the 8th house people can be accused as being “too sexual” or “hypersexual” by their committed partner.
🤍🤍 I wouldn’t really say that your marriage partner will match your Juno sign with their Sun sign. Juno sign will represent their qualities and traits. I noticed often you can respond better to Vertex sign. So the sign of your Vertex can be the Sun sign of your person that you end up marrying.
🤍🤍 Juno sign though points to best trait of your partner. If you have a Gemini Juno, it’s best you pick the most talkative, communicative or intelligent person out of those you are considering. If you have Libra Juno: the one that is the prettiest out of the friend group. Capricorn Juno: the one that’s the most successful, has the best reputation or others admire them or look up to them the most. Cancer Juno: the one your mother would like the best or the one that resembles your mother the most or the one you see is the best family person.
🤍🤍 Aries Part of Fortune or Part of Fortune in the 1st house people have very unique personality, one of a kind type. That’s why they get new opportunities by just being themselves, because of a very distinctive personality. They also look to other people as though they have a solid sense of self and people make them a leader, because of that.
🤍🤍 Sun at 14 degrees (Taurus degree) people “transmute” or “transfer” a lot of their own self-loving, self-care energy onto their partner. So their partner becomes more confident and has better self-worth, because of trust and bond they have with the Sun person.
🤍🤍 Pisces Juno or Juno in the 12th house can dream of their future partner just before meeting them.
🤍🤍 Libra Juno or Juno in the 7th house on the other hand, will each time they might a significant partner, feel like their meeting is straight out of a movie scene.
🤍🤍 Capricorn Juno or Juno in the 10th house on the other hands will meet their partner in a group setting, usually when surrounded with friends too.
🤍🤍 Taurus Venus people often feel entitled to their partner, even when ending the relationship. There is this sense of “I made you”. They usually give status, attention, money, better style or confidence to pursue things to their partner, so they end up being “entitled” to them.
🤍🤍 17 degrees of any personal planet means profitable fame. You will be able to monetise being well-known in the community.
🤍🤍 Where you have Aquarius in your chart, there is where you too easily feel excluded from group gatherings. Aquarius in the 3rd house: might have not been invited to many group gatherings in high school etc.

Scandalous (Blitzø x Fem!Succubus!Reader x Stolas) [Helluva Boss] pt. 3 - The Imp
How the mighty do fall. (Getting into a weird three-way situation with an imp and a succubus isn't exactly considered classy, Stolas)
He's not just a bitch! He's a bitch with a backstory.
pt. 1 pt. 2 pt. 4
Word Count: 3,140
Warnings: a lot of trauma related stuff, a lot of self-deprecating thoughts, some things are canon-compliant and some are my own, i think that's it, also hey look it's the reason blitzø wanted to sneak into ozzie's so bad!
Tumblr media
Blitzø has been called many different things throughout his life.
Most of those things have been insults but, hey, who’s keeping track?
From an entitled prick to a selfish asshole to shit-for-brains to imp scum to… well, you get the gist of it. You name it, he’s been called it. And he was perfectly fine with being all of those things.
He’d decided very early on that he would own any titles he was given if it meant he had any sort of control over how they affected him.
And it worked. If he was going to be called useless, or selfish, or a low-level regardless of what he did, he was just going to let himself become all of those things. If no one expects anything good to come from him anyway, why should he even care to try? This wouldn’t help stop them saying all those awful things he hated to hear about himself, but at the very least he’d be at peace knowing he wasn’t spending his entire life humiliating himself for the off-chance that someone would see him the way he wanted them to.
That way, he’d always have the upper hand.
Growing up in the circus, Blitzø learned at a very young age that he was no more than a collateral to his father. ‘Useless’ at being sufficiently entertaining, as he always heard he was, Blitzø understood entirely too well that he was only kept around for the simplest of all things he was: unpaid labor and an obligation.
At times, in his teenage years, he’d start to wonder if he would ever have been kept around at all if it weren’t for his mother.
And sometimes, well into adulthood already, Blitzø would find himself hurting people. Really hurting people. Sometimes even on purpose, without ever fully understanding why he did what he did. Most of the time he would try and ignore it, or pretend not to care, try to convince himself it was for the best that he kept his distance from people.
But, at certain times, thoughts of his mother would consume him. Would she be proud of who he had become?
He hardly thought so.
There were times when he would even find himself wondering who he could have grown up to be had she stayed around for longer. Would he be nice? Kind? Caring?
Would he be loved?
But she wasn’t around, and that was his fault, he kept reminding himself. And that wasn’t fucking fair.
His mother was always kinder than his father ever was. She was sweet and caring and always made sure to check on him. The moments they spent together were always his favorite as a kid.
When she was with him, it almost felt like nothing else mattered, as if her presence could shield him from anything- he always blindly believed her when she told him time and time again that everything would be okay. It was a nice feeling.
She was always full of life, always the soul of every room she entered, always cheering Blitzø back up when he was down. She was always pure light.
Except when his father was around.
Blitzø loathed the way her demeanor changed around him, how she minimized herself to be next to him. When he was young, he’d always toyed in his mind with the idea of her being two different people who shared the same body: there was his mother, and there was his father’s wife.
His mother was kind, compassionate, caring, free. His father’s wife was cold, quiet, dull.
Fizzarolli entered his life really early on.
At merely seven years old, he was taken into the circus after losing his parents in a freak accident, and Blitzø remembers the day they met clear as day.
Fizz was small. At the young age of eight years old, Blitzø vividly remembers his mind conjuring the term ‘fragile’ to describe him.
Scared and vulnerable, Fizzarolli was an emotional creature, only a kid, after all. And that demanded care. At first, Blitzø really didn’t enjoy having to share his mother as a caregiver in the slightest. He was also only a kid, after all.
As time passed, though, he grew to quite like Fizz’s presence. He’d never really been much too surrounded by other kids, as it’d always been only him and his parents, and now he had a best friend! Someone to talk to and play with all the time, and who was as eager for a friend as he was himself.
A couple years later, at ten years old, Blitzø received news from his parents: he was going to be a big brother. His father didn’t seem to express too many feelings about that- he never really expressed much other than disdain when it came to him, for the matter, but his mom seemed excited.
Blitzø wasn’t exactly sure how to feel about it. Sure, he got used to sharing his life with Fizz, but that was enough, wasn’t it? Things were good as they were, why mess it up with another kid?
When Barbie was born, Blitzø made it his personal goal to express just how much he disliked the idea of having a sibling- but that only lasted a few weeks. A few weeks of being rude and purposefully stubborn were enough for him to notice how hurt his mother was that he was acting that way, especially when she was already clearly overwhelmed with taking care of the baby along with himself and Fizzarolli.
Being the reason for his mother’s tears was the thing he hated the most in the whole wide world.
And so he stopped. It took him many months for his feelings about his sister to really change, but he decided he wouldn’t be so mean about it anymore, for his mom’s sake. And, with time, he grew used to his sister too. Sure, she was annoying and extremely clingy, as all babies and younger siblings are, and yes, he’d still act annoyed at her, but he started to not mind it as much.
He started to care.
At ten years old, too, on a random day, something rather unusual happened: his father came looking for him after a show, prompting him to stand up from the floor where he’d been playing with Fizz and their balloon horses, because he’d been… sold?
Yeah, that’s right. His dad told him, normal as ever, that apparently one of the Goetia princes had seen their part of the show earlier, and his father wanted to, quite literally, purchase Blitzø for the rest of the day.
“Ew. Why?”
“Because money!” That always seemed to answer plenty when it came to Good Old Cash.
He was dragged to the Goetia palace with a purpose: to steal everything he could. That didn’t feel right nor did it feel safe. After all, who knew what sort of bad things could happen to him if he got caught stealing from royalty? He was young, but he knew they weren’t demons you wanted to mess with.
He was scared.
But they needed the money, and his dad had pulled the card that could get him to do basically anything he was asked to: ‘don’t you want to help your mother?’
Of course he’d do anything to help mama.
Getting back home, he felt bad. Because the prince had been kind to him the entire time. Because the prince was naive, clearly not even having considered the possibility of Blitzø having been there to do what he did. Because everything his dad had told him about the big bad royals seemed to fall flat with Stolas.
Getting back home, he still struggled to understand why he had been the one chosen to go, and not Fizz, when Fizz was clearly a better… well, everything… than he was.
It was all too confusing, growing up with Fizz. As much as he loved him, there would always be a part of him that felt jealous, insecure around him. Because, to him, it seemed his best friend was everything he wanted to be and everything he wanted to be seen as. A better entertainer, a better friend, a better kid to his parents. Everything Blitzø could never live up to.
But, as he grew older, he came more and more to the realization that it wasn’t Fizz’s fault. It was all his parents. Or, rather, it was mostly his father. He was the one who put the two against each other, when, time and time again, they showed they only wished to work together, to be kids, to be friends… or more, maybe?
On the day of Fizarolli’s 17th birthday, Blitzø had been set on confessing the feelings he’d come to nurture towards the boy. Never used to this sort of thing, the only person he’d told about it was his mom, who had smiled oh-so-sweetly at him and hugged him as he let out tears, assuring him that it was okay for him to feel that way, even if it was scary. He’d prepared a badly rehearsed but well-meaning speech, written something for him in a birthday card, and even gone as far as stealing a rose from someone’s backyard to give him too.
Fizzarolli would have never even dreamed he’d have ever done all that for him, because he didn’t give him the card, and he didn’t give him the rose, and he didn’t tell him how he felt. Because there Fizz stood, laughing with his friends- friends! Friends who looked better and acted cooler and who were so, so much more interesting than Blitzø could ever be. He wasn’t a kid anymore, but he was still young. He still let his jealousy get the best of him, still let the frustration of feeling pathetic for even considering the chance that his best friend could feel the same way he did consume him.
But, as angry, as frustrated, as sad as he was, he never meant for it all to happen.
The fire changed everything.
His mother was gone because of him. His best friend almost died because of him. Barbie only went unharmed in sheer, dumb luck. Everyone’s lives were ruined, and it was all his fault.
And so he decided he’d be better off far away. Not forever. Not for long. But, for now, everyone was sure to be better off without him near. He’d caused enough destruction already and hed forever have the scars to remind him.
So he left. Simple as day, he told a crying, barely eight-year-old Barbie he’d be back soon and left a note for his father to find and give Fizz when he recovered.
Not forever. Not for long.
The next time he saw his sister again was nine years later. And he tried. He so desperately tried to be present again. But Barbie didn’t seem to think it was fair of him to go no-contact for so many years. Yes, their father sucked- but leaving meant he left her to grow up alone with him. She lost a mother too. He wished things were different, but couldn’t blame her.
Two years later, at nineteen years old, was the first time Barbie had to be checked into rehab. Blitzø went there to visit every week, of course, but she never let him in.
Just like Fizz, no matter how many times he tried, she simply didn’t want to see him.
After the fire happened, Blitzø decided he wouldn’t work as a clown ever again, cutting short his own big, flashy dreams.
But that was the only thing he ever learned to do, and that made things difficult. For years on end, he had to jump from one job to another, trying to find anything he could to make a living for himself.
He was never all that eager to admit to this part of his past, but there were times during which he’d slept on the streets or forced himself onto one one-night stand after the other just to have a place to crash. At some point, he found himself gambling the little money he got from working here and there.
That’s how he met Verosika Mayday, anyway. At a cheap, dark, dirty club in Lust, as he tried to drink his sorrows away and let his luck decide whether he’d be able to pay for his stay at some gross little inn room down in Greed for the night or not, and she tried to kickstart her singing career, standing on the poor-lit makeshift stage with her electric-pink electric guitar and singing something barely anyone was paying any attention to.
A few years later came Loona. And Loona was love at first sight. At first, he wasn’t looking for a hellhound like her to adopt. He wanted a pet.
But she looked so scared and angry, and so, so much like himself. She was about to be thrown out of the system into the streets to fend for herself at only eighteen. He knew what that was like entirely all too well, and he knew it wasn’t pretty. He wasn’t exactly the most sensitive person ever, but if only he could be something like a family to her, if only he could help her in any way so she didn't have to be all alone…
He adopted her immediately.
It was a crazy idea, for many, very obvious reasons. First off, he’d just started making enough to make rent for a one-bedroom apartment in a shitty side of imp city. Second off, even though he was doing slightly better, he still barely made enough to feed himself alone. Third off, he had no fucking clue how to be a parent. Much less how to parent a teenager.
But he made it work. He promised himself he’d make it work. He worked everywhere he could find, doing anything he possibly could (and, in hell, that meant anything), at any crazy hour, to make enough to support Loona. He bought books about parenting that he couldn't really read much of because most of them were targeted to soon-to-be parents of… well, babies, and included nonsense, fancy-pants words he didn’t have the patience to try and understand, but he tried his best to be a good parent to her.
He never forced her to call him dad or anything of the sort, because he could understand how that was probably hard. He still couldn’t stop himself from shedding a few emotional tears when she did, even if most times were slip-ups.
About a year or so later, he was set on a goal: he wanted to make a living for himself. Really make a living. Blitzø was tired of putting himself through every single job he could find just to barely make enough for him and Loona.
Well, it’s not exactly like he’d be the winner in a competition for the best morals in hell.
He started stealing. What? This was hell!
The lifestyle went surprisingly well for him. He wasn’t making bank, but it beat working like 24 hours a day to barely survive. As time went on, though, he started getting more and more confident. Stealing more, from wealthier, more influential people, pushing himself to do better each time things went well for him, having fun with letting things get more violent and subsequently bringing attention to himself.
He was bound to steal too close to the sun someday. After a particularly… well, greedy robbery down by the Greed ring, things went south quickly, resulting in his arrest.
Jail sucked, but honestly, he’d had worse. And, hey, his cellmate was sufficiently cool.
Moxxie wouldn’t tell him much about his past or how he ended up there, but that wasn’t to worry when he didn’t particularly want to do the same either. What mattered was he had a plan to escape and a plan for after that and Moxxie could be of assistance.
Escaping wasn’t easy, and the two of them didn’t leave exactly unharmed, but it was successful.
The grand plan for after that was to start a company that specified in hired assassinations. Moxxie wasn’t perfectly happy with the idea, but damn was he good with a gun.
But two not-even-that-much-experienced assassins didn’t really make a company, did they?
After a lot of convincing, even though they didn’t even keep in contact quite as much as they used to anymore, he somehow got y/n, a succubus he’d become friends with about a year before, to agree to work with them.
Okay, three’s a crowd.
Millie joined in not long after.
Four’s a party. Or, well, a hired assassination company.
They worked phenomenally well all together as a team- even Loona was brought into the business, though Blitzø never really let her participate in the killing. Business went okay… until it didn’t. Things didn’t work as well in reality as they did in their minds- not for very long, at least.
And so Blitzø had to bring back into light the same dumb, far-fetched idea he’d had a year earlier.
“What if we could kill humans?” He blurted out during a meeting in which the point of discussion was how to increase business.
You made a face at him. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
“I mean it. Like, imagine how many of these sinners are walking around here just double-dying to have someone that they hate up there dead too. We’d have clients like forever!”
“If that were possible, Blitzø.,” Millie chimed in.
“It is possible.”
“Boss, no offense, but did you hit your head again?” Moxxie questioned, understandably confused.
“Y/n knows what I'm talking about!”
“What? No I don't.”
“Yeah you do. Your best friend Ozzie-boy has something that could let us do that.”
“Are you- wait.” There’s no fucking way. “When we met- were you- were you trying to steal an asmodean crystal?”
“I was not not trying to steal an asmodean crystal.”
“Uh, what is an asmodean crystal?” Loona asked, and you were surprised she’d even been paying attention.
You sighed. “Asmodeus has these enchanted crystals that can be used to create portals to the living world. We- uh- we get to use them at times. When necessary.”
“See? It’s perfect! He’d totally give you one.”
“Not for this. I think you forgot Fizzarolli hates your guts. Ozzie’s not gonna give me a crystal so I can help you with something. Really what the fuck did you even do to this guy?”
Blitzø ignored your last question completely. “He let you work with me,” he commented, matter-of-factly.
“He’s not my owner, asshole. But no. It’s not happening.”
Well, he'd really hoped it wouldn't have to come to this, but… he did know someone else who had a little something that could grant access to the living world.

When you redo the redesign you planned to drop today simply because you decided you didn't like it. :'] Anyways, here's Kizuna! Her's was interesting to tackle as it tells you exactly what her Ultimate talent is while also being...fan servicey. Look, there's nothing wrong with a character showing a ton of skin if it fits their personality and character, but there are times when it shouldn't be considered or at the very least toned down. The DRA cast are teenagers, or at the very least on the verge of adulthood, but it's implied that not a lot of time had passed since they got wrapped up in the Tragedy before their killing game started. So they're still fairly young, minors even. However, Kizuna is also a very flirtatious character that uses her charm and looks to get what she wants from guys in an attempt to be in control. So her having a fan servicey design makes sense for her character but I still wanted to tone it down a bit as certain parts of it...bothered me. Just look at where the placement of the stars on her shirt are and you'll see what I mean. So I decided to try and strike a balance instead: I still have her showing a lot of skin and even changed the collar of her shirt into a turtleneck and kept her skirt about the same length. However, I added a bit of modesty by giving her shorts underneath her skirt. And I remembered that the high school I went to had cheerleader uniforms that had long sleeves that almost looked like gloves, so I decided to implement that into her design by giving her long gloves but keeping her shoulders bare. I simplified her socks and shoes, added more blue to them, and changed the amount of stars on her outfit. Particularly her shirt as there was no need for there to be three stars on her and the placement of those stars...are really damn weird. That's the kindest way to put it, honestly. So I just changed it to one big star instead. I also gave her a bit of makeup if you look closely, her hair kinda hides the eyeshadow though. Aside from that, everything else mostly stayed the same: her hairstyle (minus the side bangs), and the star tattoo(??) on her cheek, and I kept her color palette the same cause the contrast of blue and pink is REALLY good. I'll give LINUJ that much with how he chose his colors for her design and using white to break them up.
Anyways, Kizuna is here and she is so getting herself cancelled on social media. I can see it now.

Um… Hi, Ray! Hopefully this isn’t weird, I’ve just been thinking lately, and, uh. I guess I wanted another opinion? Someone to tell me if I’m being dumb? Hopefully this isn’t a bother, I’m just stressing a bit and worried I’m making a big deal out of nothing-
So, to get down to it, I used to be really into theatre when I was younger- Think elementary to middle school, I guess, it’s been a while. I dunno how good I was, because, you know. I was a kid. But I liked it, even if I never got big roles! It was fun, though looking back, our theatre teacher and the one who directed all the plays was kind of a dick, lol. Lots of favoritism there. Same for his wife.
Except something that’s made me more uncomfortable the more I think about it is one… Incident? Basically, uh, I was something of an early bloomer in regards to my. Chest, I guess, and puberty in general. And they’d often film rehearsals to watch them back and go over things with us, like what we needed to work on. And one day his wife pulled me aside and pointed out that my breasts were visibly moving in the recording and kinda. Scolded me? Guilted me? For it. I dunno. I was an anxious kid though, left me hyper aware of how my body moved, and it stressed me out enough that I dragged my mom with me to the store in hopes of finding a more restrictive bra. The one I settled on was super uncomfortable and tight and made it hard to breathe, and it ultimately didn’t fix the problem, or at least I felt like it didn’t. Because again, I was now hyper aware of my body and could still feel them moving. Because. That’s how movement works. But it stressed me out to the point that I started wearing jackets all the time, and would zip them up during rehearsal to hide myself and try and make sure no one saw anything. I definitely overheated a lot because of it.
It’s been years and I’ve since gotten better about wearing jackets All The Time- I can take them off at home or in the car or at work- But I still need one relatively close or I start getting uncomfortable. I’m still hyper aware of the way my body moves and get nervous moving too much around others.
I dunno, I feel. Kinda dumb for freaking out so much about this. I’m worried I’m being over dramatic and I just. Wanted other thoughts, I guess. Thanks for listening Ray, hope you’re doing well.
You are absolutely not being dumb, darling.
You were approached by someone in a position of authority over you at a young age and inappropriately scolded for something that was both natural and already hard to deal with at a time in your life when you were young, vulnerable, and likely already stressed because your body was changing.
It's understandable that something like that could stick with you even into adulthood.
Just try to remind yourself that it was wrong of her to do that, your body and the way it moves is nothing to be ashamed of or to hide, and just be gentle with yourself.

Serennedy X The Great Gatsby (work in progress)
Leon S. Kennedy = Nick Carraway
Luis N. = Jay Gatsby / Luis Serra Navarro = James Gats
^ For those confused Jay Gatsby isn’t his real name ! So Luis goes by Luis N. to work with that
Daisy Buchanan = Ada Wong (married Wesker for his money and nothing else basically)
Tom Buchanan (Tom’s a piece of shit btw) = Albert Wesker (Married Ada solely because people kept annoying him about being single)
Jordan Baker = Alice Abernathy
Myrtle Wilson = Jill Valentine
George Wilson = Chris Redfield
^ Married for convenience, besties+ cover ups (Jill has a girlfriend and Chris has a boyfriend, you can imagine from there)
Okay I kinda got the characters sorted, made Wesker not as much of a piece of shit (removed the racist aspects of Tom’s character) so he’s slightly more likable
(A lot of story elements will be the same/extremely similar to the actual books with some major changes)
Major changes:
Luis and Ada are not lovers or exs, instead REALLY close friends and Luis simply wants to get Ada out of her shit marriage
Wesker and Jill are NOT having an affair, Wesker’s having affairs with others. People rumor that the two are having an affair though which pisses both of them off
Ada and Leon aren’t cousins—obviously—rather young adulthood exes who worked out their differences (hence why they’re on good terms)
Leon and Luis are very comfortable in their bisexuality (aka they explored each other’s bodies at least once throughout this) (cause apparently Nick and Gatsby were too coward to do that in the actual story/j)
Ada and Wesker divorce by the end instead of staying together
Ada and Wesker don’t have a kid, but Ada is expecting at some point (she doesn’t have the kid with Wesker, she has the kid after running off with a certain somebody)
Chris isn’t the one who shoots Luis
(Story)
Leon moves to Long Island, New York to get away from home and live by himself. He rents a house in West Egg which happens to neighbor a major estate, whose home owner is none other than Luis N.
Leon finds himself dining with Ada Wong and eventually meets Alice, a “friend” of Ada’s. They’re both at first skeptical of each other, Leon not all that interested in her. After a while Ada confesses that Wesker has a mistress and Ada’s knows about it but doesn’t seem to do anything about it or care all that much.
The same evening, Leon takes a step outside, drink in hand. There he spots Luis standing on his lawn staring at something across the way.
One morning Leon receives an invitation from Luis to attend one of his parties. When he gets there he gets anxious at the fact that he doesn’t know anybody and—not wanting to just go up to somebody and weird them out—he begins drinking.
While drinking, Leon steps outside to get some air. He’s later approached by none other than Luis. Leon can feel his breath catch as this stunning brown haired individual comes up to him, asking him if he liked the party. Leon’s not focused on that though, he’s focused on the warm smile on Luis’ face and gentle eyes looking him up and down. Studying him.
The two chat casually for a bit to Leon’s surprise, and when Leon leaves, he looks back to see Luis watching him the entire time—once again causing him to get hot under the collar.
Sometime July, Leon and Luis have lunch together. Tossing longing glances at each other as Luis tries to desperately impress Leon with old tales of his past, making Leon laugh a couple times. They end off lunch with Luis asking Leon if he’d like to come back home with home, to which Leon disagrees because he’s meeting with Alice about something she wanted to talk about with him away from everybody. Luis nods, understanding albeit disheartened, but Leon makes sure to give Luis a passing kiss on the cheek—thanking him for lunch—before leaving. (And desperately praying nobody saw that)
When Leon meets up with Alice, they sit down for tea. Leon explains how he knows Ada and Alice explains how she does. Alice seems skeptical of Ada’s ex hanging around her, which Leon catches onto and quickly mentions Luis. Alice almost instantly sees right through him, messing with him for going after the rich neighbor as Leon groans in embarrassment. Alice then goes on to explain that Luis and Ada are best friends, which catches Leon’s attention. She explains that Luis has always been very terrified of Ada’s marriage with Wesker, and that he’s been trying to convince her leave him and Alice has been doing the same.
When Leon asks why she won’t when two of her friends are asking too, Alice just flat out says “she’s hoping he dies soon because the dude’s a dick and she can get all his money then run off with m-..somebody.”
Leon’s eyebrows furrow in concern and Alice nods, saying she feels the say skepticism about it. Ada’s a strong woman though, Wesker knows that too so nothing physical ever happens—just a lot of arguments but nothing ever escalates past somebody leaving the house for the night.
That relaxes Leon but granted knowing that Ada’s in a shit marriage regardless has him worried about her.
Throughout the next couple months, Ada is spending less and less time with Wesker and more time at Luis’ house with Alice, Luis, and Leon. All four of which are relaxed enough to show intimacy between their actual lovers (Leon and Alice are using each other as cover ups because they could still be hatecrimed)
Luis laying down on Leon’s chest as Leon runs his fingers through his hair, Alice kissing Ada at random points even in front of the guys (not that they give two shits, theyre just happy to see Ada actually have someone who cares for her)
Ada learns late August, early September that she’s pregnant which terrifies her and is the deciding factor she needs to go through with divorcing Wesker and running off with Alice. So she, Leon, Luis, and Alice all go out to a hotel with Wesker to talk about it sometime mid-September.
It’s late in the evening and hot as hell, making everyone extremely on edge. When Ada finally gets the nerve to tell Wesker she wants a divorce everything goes to shit—yelling, swearing, even breaking stuff ensues. Wesker, not realizing Ada’s been cheating on him with a girl, turns his aggression towards Luis—which causes Leon to step in and put himself between Wesker and Luis who are yelling at each other back and forth; with Wesker accusing Luis of sleeping with Ada (false). Alice put herself between Ada and the others, making sure Ada’s okay who’s more worried about Luis and Leon by this point than herself.
When the heat dies down, Wesker finally agrees to the divorce making everyone relax. He doesn’t look anybody in the eyes as he tells Ada it’s late, and it’s probably a good idea to get home. Ada agrees and turns to Luis, nodding for him to leave with her (after everything she’d rather not expose her relationship with Alice until she’s good as gone.)
Leon and Alice help Wesker clean up, Leon feeling horrible for the staff at the hotel but not feeling as bad when Wesker’s the one paying for the damage. They all go home Wesker’s car with tense and uncomfortable silence.
On the way home they spot Chris talking to a bunch of police officers, Wesker pulls over without a second thought and walks over to Chris after the policeman walk away. Alice stays in the car as Leon gets out to see what the deal was.
He gets close enough to hear Wesker ask what’s happening and Chris replies that Jill was struck by a car, thankfully she’s alive but her leg was crushed in the process. Leon winces at the look on Chris’ face and he swore he saw Wesker’s own expression falter.
Wesker sits down next to Chris, patting him on the shoulder as he asks more questions. Leon’s heart rate spikes as Chris talks about the details of the car—it perfectly matched the description of Luis’ car, the one he and Ada drove home in.
Wesker and Leon exchange looks, both swallowing awkwardly as Wesker pushes himself to his feet. He nods to Leon and Leon, not wanting to argue again, obliges and heads back to the car. Chris and Wesker talked for a while longer before Wesker joins Alice and Leon in the car again.
They drive back to the house, with Wesker heading inside first, offering for Leon and Alice to come in and they politely decline. Wesker seems understanding, nodding and disappearing inside the house.
Leon and Alice take a walk around the house, discussing what could have happened or why they didn’t stop, only to run into Luis hiding in the garden.
He explained the truth, Ada had been the one driving and she tried to swerve at the same time Jill tried to run out of the way to avoid hitting her but it had been too late and they hit her. Ada seemed stone cold; unable to slow the vehicle down as Luis begs her to pull over.
Luis’ shoulders visibly relax when Leon explains Jill is okay just a broken leg. Alice pats Luis on the shoulder, telling him to go home with Leon and she’ll wait around to make sure Ada’s okay.
Leon and Luis walk home, talking. Leon trying to lift Luis’ guilt slightly by the time they’re at Luis’ house. It’s quiet and all the maids and butlers must have gone home already. Leon locks the door behind him and Luis, before grabbing Luis by the hips and pushing him against the wall—lips pressed together. A groan is pulled from Luis’ lips as Leon’s hands drift up his shirt, Leon promising to make him forget the pain of tonight.
The next morning, while still naked on the couch, they wake up to a knock at the door. They quickly throw on their clothes before Luis answers the door. His face lights up as he sees Ada and Alice with Ada’s bags, asking if it’s alright if they stay in one of his spare bedrooms for a few nights which Luis is more than welcome too.
Leon gets started on breakfast while the others help Ada settle into one of the spares.

Israel's Propaganda (From a Jewish perspective)
I grew up in a Jewish area on a whole other continent from Israel, and the IDF used to visit us. I remember them visiting my day camp when I was a very young child. They'd set up a cardboard Western Wall and we'd write wishes to stick in it. Afterwards, they would straight up have us do army training drills altered to be 'fun' for kids. They did this every year.
(Putting a read more because this is long)
I don't remember all the things they had us do, but I remember having to crawl through mud and rocks and being told not to touch the string above us. They played it off like a fun game, even though a lot of kids got hurt doing it.
They did this because they wanted us to one day join their army. They came to us year after year to get to our children and make them think the IDF is cool and hey they should totally join up when they're older.
Sometimes they brought us candy. Sometimes they gave out IDF t-shirts. When I was a child, having that shirt was seen as cool.
They don't just try to reach you as a kid, though. They have something else they do when we are entering adulthood.
It's called a Birthright trip, and when you're a Jewish kid, this trip is hyped up so much. You look forward to it for years.
A Birthright trip means that as a Jew, even if you're not Israeli by blood, you have the right to go to Israel for free one time (fucked how I got to go there for free, meanwhile some Palestinians can't even visit or live in their homeland).
This trip is pure propaganda. It's played off as a fun rite of passage, something meant to make us feel closer to our 'homeland' (even if you have 0 family members from there and have no connection to it beyond being Jewish).
We're escorted by IDF soldiers around our own age. We're given lots of group activities meant to make us all feel closer. As the trip went on, I noticed something weird. There were so many people in charge making jokes about how the real Birthright experience is hooking up with a soldier. It felt like it was being encouraged. And it worked really well. A lot of people (myself included) ended up in relationships with the soldiers.
By the end of the trip it got very obvious that they were hoping we would fall in love, move there, and have babies that would eventually join their army. They tried so hard to make us want to stay.
Most of us barely knew anything about Palestine. I think this is why they want teens/young adults. They hope we're naive (I definitely was) and that we'll fall for the narrative they painted.
I was lucky on my trip, because our tour guide did something he probably wasn't supposed to do. He told us a little about the conflicts of Israel, but not just from Israel's perspective. He told us some of the horrible things that went on. He even told us how some people pull up chairs to watch strikes against the Palestinian people. He said he wanted to give us information from both sides, so that we can form our own opinions, and he did so in a hushed tone away from the other trip supervisors. His words were what made me start to really open my eyes and examine what was going on.
By that point, pretty much everyone on our trip was agreeing this was all just propaganda. This trip meant to make us fall in love with Israel was making us realize how fucked up things were.
Near the end of the trip, we were brought to a military cemetery. A lot of us didn't want to go in, because it felt wrong to take a tour through a graveyard. We were told we can't leave until we did it.
And that's around the point where one of the soldiers broke down. He was crying and shaking and when we asked why, he said he was scared of ending up there. He didn't want to be in the IDF. He didn't want to be a soldier. He didn't believe in what they were fighting for, and the job he was given in the army was a very dangerous one. He didn't get a choice. We tried to comfort him, and some of the other soldiers did too. It was how I found out most of them didn't want to be soldiers at all.
Eventually we went in the cemetery, hoping if we just got it over with we could leave quicker. None of the soldiers were happy to be here. Making them go through there was straight up cruel, and the guy I mentioned was not the only one to have a breakdown.
Our tour guide (different person from our main one), had an attitude like he was giving a tour of something we should be proud of, or in awe of. All these graves, most of which were filled with people barely into their 20s. And he was treating it like a tour of a museum. He kept loudly talking about how it was an honour to die protecting Israel, how it's a harsh reality. A necessity. I felt so bad for the mourners nearby who had to hear someone speak like that about their dead loved ones. How many of the dead had been forced into the roles that got them killed?
After that the propaganda was very blatant. They had us watch videos meant to convince us to move there. Again, we weren't allowed to leave.
So yeah. That's what Birthright is about.
On top of everything I mentioned, we're told from a young age that as Jews, we're supposed to see Israel as our safe haven. Our holy land. We're taught to revere it.
Fortunately, we're also taught something else. Something that goes above all of that: Never again means never again. It doesn't matter who it happens to, we MUST stand up against genocide. We cannot stay quiet and watch it happen.
Anyway, this post is long enough. I wanted to share the kind of lengths Israel has gone to for the sake of propaganda. They bathe us in it from the very beginning of our lives. I'm hoping that by sharing these experiences, people who have been through the same might see what's really going on.

Hey, Michelle! I'm a night owl, which is why I'm still up at 1 a.m. 🦉
I have a question for you, and it may be a tough one considering how many awesome stories you've written, but...
Which story are you most proud of? If it's easier, one series, one one-shot. 😆💕
I'm a night owl too! Which is why it's so unfortunate I have to start my workday at 7am 😂
Stories I'm most proud of, hm? Well that is definitely not the easiest question, especially considering the volume of them! So I'm going to cheat juuuuust a little bit and keep the list to under 10 (you may want coffee, wine and/or snacks cause this turned into a novel):
The Daughter!Reader Fic With More Timestamps Than Parts (😂)
Probably the one series I'm most proud of because of the impact it's had on my readers is A Place to Call Home (or APTCH as it's been affectionately dubbed around here). And it's a funny little story to me to have that special designation because it really shouldn't be so popular. It's a Jensen x foster daughter!reader story which is so niche in the first place. I don't really read daughter!reader stories myself so I really have no idea why I wanted to write this one. I held onto it for almost a year after it was written because I thought I'd get such a negative reaction to it for being weird, disrespectful, you name it. Yet, it's turned into this never-ending saga that I get told over and over is one thing: comforting. It's such a simple story, a girl who needs a family but has been so hurt she's given up on the idea of one and a man who will do whatever it takes to show her she's worthy of love. And it's that story over time from a scared 17 year old high school kid to a young woman falling in love, figuring out her own career, navigating her own family, her own adulthood and how overtime that relationship with Jensen grows and changes as it does for all of us with parents as we grow up. Having people who were actually in foster care/were adopted/are foster/adoptive parents themselves reach out and say it captures a lot of those real life feelings and desires is still probably the best compliment I've ever gotten. For every situation there is, good or bad, I've been told it's a pick me up by so many and for that I will always be proud of this one.
The Canon-esque, "Hey this is like a post-show movie"
Staying in canon is fun. Staying in canon at a point beyond the show? That's even more fun for me. Beautiful Loser was really my first crack at, "hey what could a post series finale pickup look like?" Bring in some kids, bring in good ole fashioned hunter paranoia, bring in a creepy little kid...this one felt like writing an episode of SPN and I'm SOOO happy with how it turned out! The lore, the ups and downs, damn it still gets me.
The Arranged Marriage Political Thriller
I mean, Unconventional originally was supposed to be a fun little ABO quirky arranged marriage story and then...then it became "this idea of being lesser is the shit women have to deal with even in the real world". I didn't intend to write that story but it ended up going there and I'm incredibly proud of the message it puts out there that change is hard, change requires sacrifice sometimes, but not everyone is bad and if you fight for it, sometimes you can make a real difference.
The Fast Paced Detective Story
39 Hours was the first story I ever wrote based on the aesthetic and one of the first cop!Dean stories I did. I wrote it like a good thriller mystery. The clock is ticking down faster and faster. The protector is a grump with maybe a soft side? The victim isn't weak and some threat is looming in the air. This was such a departure for me to write a long condensed story like this too but it broke open that avenue for me and I still consider this one of my favorite stories I've done.
The Body Issues One
It's such a trope of women having body issues but what about if the guy had them too? Because we know they do they do, they just talk about it so much. And we all always call Jensen that male model SOB so a model Dean was faaar too tempting. Now give the reader some physical scars from an accident Dean's own dad caused, a father who's disowned Dean for his career choice...we've got two people who very much seem themselves as broken yet can't see it in one another. This was a heavy topic on a lot of fronts to work in Broken Like Me but I'm really happy with the messaging that comes through.
The Jensen Shower Pics Inspired One
Thank god for Jensen Ackles cause this one wouldn't have existed without those shirtless late night pics. ABO has always been an interesting world I like to push the boundaries of but this was my first real attempt at going big, adding my own rules and boundaries. Coming up with the new science, adding the mystery elements, adding that growing sexual tension...yeah Feral is my favorite ABO story I've ever done hands down.
The Best RPF I'll Ever Write
RPF isn't for everyone but if you only ever read one by me, it's got to be If I Fell For You by a landslide. A Jensen x nanny!reader fic can be, let's just say, really easy to screw up. They can go down routes I don't like to go. But this story deals with so many themes that are worthwhile. Grief. Loss. Learning to love again. Parental love and when it's lacking. Forgiveness and pain. It hurts so good is the best way to put this one. And the safety net analogy I came up with in Part 4 is something I'm particularly proud of.
Making You Forgive The Asshole
I know you in particular will understand this Zep but writing a redemption story for Soldier Boy is fucking hard. It's really easy to watch the show and go he's awful but he's so cute, he can do whatever he wants. Throw in an actual reader and suddenly him being walking sin ain't gonna cut it. Writing character growth realistically can be hard. It can be ever harder when we got like a grand total of 15 mins of screen time with that character. I was nervous as hell to write Thunder In Our Hearts quite honestly. So when I got the reaction that I didn't screw it up felt so, so good. Now I can't wait to do it again with The Villain's Protector! 😉
I'm quite proud of myself for narrowing this down to 8 fics lol. There are many more I could list but these are the big hitters! And thank you for the trip down memory lane! 🥰

Excuse me what Magnifico and Florian's childhood to adulthood looks like when they grow up together?
Funny thing is, they didn't exactly have a "childhood" together, they have a 10 year age gap, so imagine 18 year old Magnifico beefing with this literal 8 years old.
Here's their dynamic at that age in a nutshell:
Florian: Hey big brother, guess what!
Magnifico: ... I despise guessing games
Flo: I'm gonna be king of Rosas!
Mag: Oh goodie -_-
Flo: Father showed me the whole kingdom! One day I'm gonna rule it all! Haha
Mag: Yes, well forgive me for not leaping with joy, bad back, you know? *lays down on his bed*
Flo: Hey Magnus, when I'm king, what will that make you?
Mag: A monkey's brother
Flo: Hehehee you're so weird
Mag: You have no idea- SO has dad really shown you the whole kingdom? Including the (Insert dangerous place in Rosas that a 8 year old should never go all alone and Magnus manipulates his brother into going there here)
That's it, that's the dynamic.
But if you want the long answer:
I imagine they were mostly like Anna and Elsa, but what if Elsa actually hated Anna fr and wasn't hiding in her room all her life to hide her powers, but rather to hide her LACK of powers, that's basically Magnifico.
Magnifico was expected to become a powerful sorcerer like his father, but he could never unlock his magic abilities when he was little because his heart wasn't in it, he just wanted to become king without having to work or study for it. So he pretty much grew up hiding away in the castle, away from the public eye, even the servants of the castle were asked by his father to not interact much with him, so they wouldn't find out that he had no magic. It was his father own way of not being remembered as the only king of Rosas that couldn't mentor his heir. Magnifico grew bitter and alone all because he wanted to follow his own path. His only company was his mother, but she passed away when he was 16 and his brother was 6.
Meanwhile, Florian ALSO had a lot of expectations placed upon him, as the "Second try" of sorts, his father although kinder with him than with Magnus, was also very strict and pressured him since a very young age to study magic. Florian was greatly rewarded when he did a good job, which made him happy, but he could sense growing up how his brother was hurting, he tried to reach out to him many times but Magnus would just treat him as a nuisance and ignore him.
Though sometimes, Magnus did find some ways to entertain himself by making his brother get in trouble. He'd manipulate Florian to make a mess of their father's things
"Hey Flo, you know father's favorite tapestry on the wall?"
"Yea, what about it?"
"I think he'd looooove if drew something for him on it, here, have some paint"
"*gasp* Great idea! Thank you big brother!"
"Don't mention it~"
And that was basically their dynamic. That and Florian asking him if he "Wanna build a snowman" or something, even though I'm not sure if it would snow in Rosas.
As they got older, Magnus kinda realized if he kept being a jerk to his brother constantly, there was the possibility he'd just get kicked out the palace once his brother became king, so when he was in his 20s and Florian was a pre-teen he'd start acting more "Brotherly", and that's how he developed his charismatic persona we know in the present, even though he'd still lose his temper with his brother often.

Layers of symbolism in Barbie (2023)
I’ve seen Barbie twice now, and I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the symbolism in the story. It’s a lot!
So, I wrote a breakdown.
Barbie (the character)’s story
In Barbie’s story…
👠 Barbieland symbolizes girlhood, childhood, innocence, immaturity, and naivety.
👟 The Real World symbolizes womanhood, adulthood, growing older and more mature, and becoming a fully realized human. It also symbolizes accepting the inevitability of change, aging, and death.
🏢 Mattel symbolizes society in general, and men in particular, telling women how to live their lives.
✂ Weird Barbie is an example of a woman who does not look and do as she is told. For that, other Barbies have punished her by calling her names and pushing her aside – so at first, Barbie is terrified of becoming like her. At the same time, Weird Barbie is a wise female mentor who helps Barbie along on her journey.
→ For Barbie, moving to The Real World means she is free of the expectations Mattel, and people in general, put on Barbie dolls: she doesn’t have to be perfect or only dress in pink and pastels anymore. No one can put her into a box anymore.
→ At the same time, Barbie leaving her hyper-feminine aesthetic behind when she leaves Barbieland for good symbolically connects that aesthetic with childhood and immaturity. In turn, her more subdued costume in the last scene of the movie symbolically connects that aesthetic to adulthood and maturity.
→ Moving to The Real World is a positive change for Barbie: she becomes more mature and learns to appreciate the beauty in aging. However, I think it’s noteworthy how the movie mostly shows The Real World in a negative light: while in The Real World, Barbie gets disappointed, harassed, and chased down, and all of this makes her experience anxiety for the first time.
→ In the end, Barbie can’t stay in Barbieland because she’s grown too mature for it, showing that it’s impossible to escape growing up – even when the world of grown-ups seems very chaotic and unfair. Becoming a woman means you have to encounter, and learn to deal with, toxic masculinity and the patriarchy.
Ken (the character)’s story
In Ken’s story…
🕺 Ken himself symbolizes a young, immature man who hasn’t found his place within society and who has a very low self-confidence. Instead of placing value on himself and his inherent qualities, he has tied his whole sense of self-worth to Barbie’s approval. As a group, Kens are oppressed within Barbieland.
💃 Barbie symbolizes an idealized image of a perfect girlfriend. At the same time, she is someone who inadvertently hurts Ken because she doesn’t understand her own privileged position within their society. As a group, Barbies are the oppressors within Barbieland.
👠 Barbieland symbolizes oppression, marginalization, and social exclusion. For Ken, it’s a society that has no place for him or people like him.
👟 The Real World symbolizes patriarchy, which Ken interprets to mean a society where things are better for Kens than they are in Barbieland. (In truth, as Ken grows to learn, it’s a system that harms all genders with its strict and oppressive gender roles.)
🐎 Horses symbolize all the positive, joyous, healthy, harmless, non-toxic parts of masculinity.
→ In short, Ken’s story is about a young man falling into the manosphere, and how good self-confidence and supportive connections with other men can help battle toxic masculinity.
→ Just like Barbie, Ken too matures during the course of his character arc: he acknowledges that he’s been wrong about the patriarchy, he starts to feel a sense of self-worth that’s not tied to Barbie, and he learns to lean on other Kens for support.
→ Unlike Barbie, though, Ken remains in Barbieland at the end of the movie, and presumably starts working together with other Kens and Barbies to shape it into a more equal society. This is because to Ken, Barbieland does not symbolize childhood like it does to Barbie, so he doesn’t have to leave it behind when he grows up.
→ When you think about Barbie as a part of Ken’s story, it feels disappointing that when they arrive in The Real World and Barbie experiences the way real women are mistreated, she doesn’t seem to make much of a connection to the way Barbies mistreat Kens in Barbieland. This is, again, because The Real World symbolizes different things to Barbie and Ken.
→ Unfortunately, all too often, the joyous parts of masculinity become tied together with sexism and toxic ideas. The way horses are often seen as a girly thing in our modern-day culture underlines how ridiculous this is: Ken assumes horses and the patriarchy go together and gets into both, though actually, they have nothing to do with each other. In reality, Ken just wants to enjoy the majesty of horses – that is, the positive parts of his own masculinity.
Barbie <3 Ken
👫 The relationship between Barbie and Ken symbolizes heteronormativity and amatonormativity, and the way those concepts are forced down all our throats practically from toddlerhood.
→ Barbie and Ken are not in a real relationship with each other. At the start of the movie, they’re both too immature to understand what being in a relationship means – let alone if they really want that for themselves and each other.
→ Ken is in love with an idealized image of Barbie he has created in his mind. He tries to play the part of a perfect boyfriend, though he doesn’t really know or understand what being a boyfriend entails.
→ Barbie, in turn, is not romantically interested in Ken at all.
→ Despite all this, people (and even Barbie and Ken themselves) expect Barbie and Ken to be together. Notably, the Mattel CEO thinks that Barbie’s ending is that she is in love with Ken, even though there has been literally no evidence in the entire movie that this is the case.
From a female point of view
To the human characters Gloria and Sasha, and also to many real women watching the movie…
👭 Barbies symbolize idealized, stereotypical, perfect femininity.
👠 Barbieland symbolizes girlhood, childhood, imagination, and fun. It’s a thought experiment; a safe haven reminiscent of the innocence of childhood; a place where women can be whatever they want while looking and acting unashamedly feminine.
👟 The Real World is a place where the idealized femininity of Barbies and Barbieland is unobtainable. For many women, instead of being a source of inspiration, idealized depictions of womanhood turn into a burden, something that restricts and disheartens women instead of uplifting them.
Barbieland
👠 Apart from its role in the arcs of individual characters, Barbieland is an exaggerated mirror image of the real world we live in. It’s a joke that criticizes the gender inequality of our world – and as such, it acknowledges that one gender holding power over others is not a good thing.
→ Somewhat confusingly, it’s treated as a victory when Barbies take Barbieland back from Kens – even though that means returning to the unequal matriarchy, not becoming a truly equal society.
→ This is because in Barbie (the character)’s story and to Gloria and Sasha, instead of being a symbol of an unequal society, Barbieland symbolizes girlhood innocence and unabashed femininity. The Barbies, Gloria and Sasha take the joy they feel in their girlhood and femininity back from the patriarchy, which is certainly a feat worth celebrating!
Mattel (the fictional version of the company)
Finally, from the fictional Mattel board of directors’ point of view…
👠 Barbieland is a reflection of their Barbie brand and products, though it’s also shaped by the people who buy Barbies and play with them.
👭 Barbies are a way of making money. Because of that, the executives think they have to be perfectly beautiful and, thus, marketable. Notably, the Mattel CEO doesn’t like Gloria’s idea of a Normal Barbie – until he’s shown evidence that it will make Mattel loads of money, which causes him to immediately change his mind.
✂ Weird Barbie shows the way many children really play with Barbies. Rough play is not in line with Mattel’s pristine brand for Barbie, so Weird Barbie is pushed aside in Barbieland.
→ Barbieland is the way that it is partially because that’s how Mattel has designed it, partially because that’s how the girls who play with Barbies want it. For example, Kens are oppressed because no one likes to play with Kens as much as they like playing with Barbies, and thus, Mattel also puts less resources in designing and marketing them.
→ Somewhat confusingly, this connection goes both ways: the things that happen in Barbieland also affect the things that Mattel does. For example, when Ken redecorates Barbie’s Dreamhouse so it becomes Ken’s Mojo Dojo Casa House, Mattel’s factory starts producing Mojo Dojo Casa Houses in The Real World. What is that all about??
~
This is all I can think of right now. Let me know if you’ve interpreted something differently, or if you think I’ve missed something!

When Stef Met 'Lena
PART 1 | <next>
Tumblr media
Elena was laid off from her last job due to her boss unable to pay her any longer. Elena had been searching for a job ever since, and then she discovered The Salvatore Industries. They were hiring or looking for a receptionist. Just the job for her. They had been her savior, she desperately needed this job. Rent money doesn’t come from out of thin air.
Elena Gilbert is described by many as stubborn, hard working, kind, and gentle. From a young age she strived to at least try when attempting at something which she carried with her into adulthood. And according to Caroline Forbes that was exactly what Salvatore Industries needed. Heart, kindness, and the strive to work hard. And that was exactly the receptionist they needed. Not what most people expect right? A receptionist needed those qualities? Yes, at The Salvatore industries they wanted and needed good people, people who carried about what they were doing. And Elena Gilbert was the perfect candidate.
There was this musical ringing, the phone rang several times before Elena reached it. She picked the phone up and answered with “Hello?”
“Elena hi! I have wonderful news you got the job! Your first day is tomorrow please meet me at The Salvatore Industries near the front lobby. The address once again is 523 Mystic City Avenue. Can’t wait to see you then!” Caroline beamed and hung up the phone.
Elena felt relief wash over her and then dread. Elena rubbed her temples in exasperation “She didn’t tell me who my boss is? Oh well this is gonna be fun,” Elena tried calling Caroline back again to get some answers to her questions but to no avail she did not answer. She tried again and all she heard was that loud and weird beeping sound when you call someone and they’re on the phone with someone else. Elena was irritated but instead of focusing on the negative she goes and calls Bonnie.
Elena dialed Bonnie’s phone number 876-435-778. All you could hear was the ringing and how it paused and started to ring and pause once again until Bonnie picked up.
“Bonnie guess what!” Elena exclaims enthusiastically.
“You got the job!”
“Yes I did! I got the job!”
“That’s amazing Elena! I’m so proud of you!”
“Aw, thank you Bonbon.”
“You're welcome! Tell you what, how about I drop you off and it’ll save you the trouble of using more gas.”
“That sounds like a plan Bon, also apparently I start tomorrow.”
“That’s quick, but I can still drop you off, don't worry.”
“I should have known it wouldn’t be able to get rid of you that easily.” Elena teased.
“Hey!”
“Kidding.” Elena giggled and Bonnie laughed alongside her.
-
Bonnie and Elena finally arrived at The Salvatore Industries. Bonnie parked in the parking lot, “Here we are.” Elena looked at the building nervously. “Don’t worry, You’ll do fine!” Bonnie gushed. Elena grinned at Bonnie feeling confidence wash over her.
“Take a deep breath and keep your chin up.” Elena smiles softly and replies with “I will, don’t worry.” Bonnie smiles and says her goodbyes as she rides off leaving Elena by herself. Elena takes a few deep breaths, even though she already had been in the building it didn’t ease her nerves. But she tried to do what Bonnie wanted her to do. Keep her chin held high. She walked towards the building. Was it larger than the first time she saw it? No, but it felt larger.
‘It’s just my first day, what could possibly go wrong?’ “Ugh who am I kidding?” Elena lets out a sigh and walks in the building. The moment she steps in the building a man greets her. He’s tall, he has black hair, pale blue eyes alongside a pale complexion as well. He gives her a cold and hard look. She wonders ‘Is this my boss?’ ‘If he is, this is gonna be interesting to say the least…’
“l know what you're thinking, I’m not your boss.” Elena nods slowly but then looks even more confused,“Then who are? If you don’t mind me asking of course.” “I do mind actually!” Elena looks down in embarrassment. “I’m sorry sir, the women who interviewed me didn’t tell me who he was or anything like that. She said she would meet me here.” “Leave the poor girl alone, she didn’t know there’s no shame in that.” The woman she interviewed me a few days ago says, I believe her name was Caroline if I’m remembering correctly. She leans her head to look at Elena and replies with “Come with me, it’s time to meet Mr.Salvatore. And don’t worry it’s not your fault for not knowing it’s mine entirely for not telling you.”
Once they had moved to the elevator away from the man. Elena whispers “Thank You.” “For what?” Caroline asks, confused. “For saving me from him, he does not like me very much.” Caroline leans closer and says “He doesn’t like anyone.” Elena giggles and replies with “That makes sense.” Caroline smiles back at her. Just as Caroline pressed the button for floor 102 a man stopped the elevator before it closed. The man walked in and walked towards Caroline smiling gently at her. ‘He seems sweet and cute. Wait what if this is my boss? I can't think like that!’ Elena mentally scolded herself for thinking in that way’ ‘He had dark blonde hair, forest green eyes that had a romantic glint that shined brightly, and he had a soft smile that lit up the room. Oh my god, Elena! Stop thinking that he could be your boss once again!’ Elena thought to herself.  He stood by Caroline and conversed in small talk with her “Good morning Caroline! I never did get the chance to ask you but how has the interviewing been going?”
“Well, Mr.Salvatore it's especially great since she’s standing right behind you.” Stefan whipped his head around to get a better look at Elena. His gaze softened when his eyes met her. He smiled at her, charmly. He reached his hand out, motioning for her to shake his hand. She gladly took his hand and shook it with just the right amount of firmness. When Stefan touched Elena’s hand he must have felt how gentle it was while when Elena touched him she must have felt how soft it was. They’re eyes never left one another, they were like in this haze of admiration. They both thought to themselves ‘You can’t think like that she’s/he your co-worker!’
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss…?”
“Miss. Gilbert, Elena Gilbert. And it’s a pleasure to meet you too Mr.Salvatore.” She smiled kindly at him and he smiled back with just as much warmth.
Caroline intervened and asked “So are you ready for the tour, Elena?”
Before Elena could respond Stefan answered “Why don’t I show her around, you already have done so much,” He grinned at her, “Well, Thank You Mr.Salvatore you're very considerate.” She smiled back at him.
The elevator dinged and Elena and Stefan moved out of the elevator. “Elena?” Caroline called, “Yes?”
“If you need anything, don't be afraid to let me know.” Caroline gushed sincerely, grinning brightly at Elena.
“I will Caroline Thank You,” She smiled back at Caroline with just as much sincerity. You could see it now, the start of a new and wonderfully blossomed friendship.
“Anytime.” Caroline pressed the first floor button and the elevator, leaving the pair alone.
Elena turned to Stefan “Where do we start?”
Stefan turned to look at her as he said “My office, your area, and a few other places as well.”
“Where’s my area?” Elena asked.
“In the lobby area, where you came in there’s the front desk and that’s where you’ll be working.” Elena nodded in understanding.
Stefan led her to his office area, “This is my area or my office area.” In the background of his office you could see his book shelves full of so many different types of books.  And his desk was in the middle, it had this glossy look and it was a shade of dark brown. “Wow, it's beautiful.”
“Why Thank You. That’s very kind of you.” Elena smiled at the complement.
“Now, let me show you to the lobby area,” He smiled softly at her as he led her back to the elevator. They both stepped in and he pressed floor one.
“You know Elena-” Stefan started, turning to look over at Elena. “You don’t strike me as someone who would be a receptionist.”
Elena smiled softly to herself, she must have felt her cheeks blushing as she looked down, “Life got in the way and it was expensive, and I felt like I could do good becoming a receptionist even if it’s in a different way than I wanted to originally,”
“What did you want to be when you grew up, Mr.Salvatore?”
“Ironically enough at first I wanted to be a Doctor as well.”
Elena lifted her eyes from the elevator door back to his eyes,“Why didn’t you?” She inquired.
“This company needed me especially after my father died and I couldn’t look away. I had to help.” Elena smiled with genuine compassion as she praised “Mr. Salvatore you are truly a kind man and a compassionate one too. That was quite noble of you most wouldn’t do that.” Elena voiced gently, Stefan looked at her with his vibrant smile and gleaming green eyes and thoughtfully replied with “Thank You, Ms.Gilbert you truly have a kind soul and I am lucky to have someone like you here.”
“No, it's quite the opposite. I'm honored to be working here because I was laid off from my last job and I was worried I wouldn’t find one this time for rent, but luckily I did. In the way you all were my savior I couldn’t Thank You all enough.”
“I’m glad you will be working here especially since we need someone like you, someone who cares.” Stefan praised, passionately.
Elena smiles at the compliment,“Well, Thank You Mr.Salvatore you’ve been so welcoming and caring I can’t help but feel excited to start.”
“I’m pleased to hear that.” He said with humility. Stefan was quite grateful she was going to be working here, ‘I wish we could find more people like her kind and caring, I’m just thankful she is here,’ ‘I’m very grateful I got this job, I have a good feeling about this job,’ They both simultaneously smile to themselves wrapped up in their own thoughts that was until the elevator dinged and they were back at the first floor. Elena jerked a little, Stefan looked over at her worry spread across his face. “Are you alright?" He asked, with panic in his voice. He placed his hand on her shoulder.
“Sorry, I was too wrapped up in my thoughts.” Elena placed her hand on her chest, trying to regain her composure. He smiled at her researingly and she smiled back feeling a sense of warmth fill her chest.
He turned to look back at her as he led her to her desk. “Here we are Ms.Gilbert.”
“Thank You Mr.Salvatore for your help,” She replied politely.
“Anytime Ms.Gilbert let me know if you need anything at all.”
“I will, Thank You Mr.Salvatore.” Elena said, and Stefan walked away heading toward the elevator, planning to go back to his office. Elena watched as Stefan a sigh escaped her lips, she must have felt a tinge of blush come across her face as she turned away and started to focus on settling in her new desk area.
Just as she sat down someone came up to her, It was a woman. Elena asked, “How can I help you?”
The woman was timid but still spoke up “I-I was wondering if I could schedule a meeting with M-mr.Salvatore I’m one of his clients.” She said, shakily.
“Of course,” Elena looked at the calendar behind her and noticed July 7th was open for meetings. She grabbed a pen and wrote ‘Meeting with-’
“What’s your name ma’am?”
“My n-name is Alexia Branson.” Elena wrote her name on the calendar, “You're all set Ms.Branson, give us a call if you need anything.” She smiled warmly at the women and she thought to herself ‘I have a great feeling about this.’ She smiled to herself as she watched the lady leave and she went back to work.

Decapolice Ocs
Elle Yale
“Hey ya, guys! Welcome to my crime lab! Find clues, solve the mystery, but don’t mess up anything or you’ll be banned!”
Age: 23
A very pink-focused forensic scientist who is very popular among the police station. When she is a child and as she grew into a young woman, she was obsessed with science. While her parents didn’t agree with her career (more information later), they tried to give her the best education to pursue her dreams.
“Why is Harvard is so insufferable? His loud voice! His stupid personality! Don’t tell him this, but he better choose a different forensics scientist or else!”
While she gets along with most of the team, he despises Harvard with a passion, due to his smug attitude and Harvard….. thinks she is just a cute scientist who might have a crush on him and very good at hiding it. On the other hand, she has a crush on Carl, due to his sweet personality and his sense of justice. Carl, when he discover this, tries to not rush it and worries that it isn’t the right time, but still tries to flirt with her.
Appearance: She is a young woman with a two ponytails that are medium length and are stuck together with a scrunchies. She has some hair clips on her to kept her bangs.
Main tactic: Special attacks
Ultimate move: Perfect Cell Attack
Retsu Tohuko
Age: 25
“This corpse………. It must have really suffered a lot of hell. Like me. I can tell from its expression.
A weird mortician who the team mets throughout the game. He is a mortuarist who checks on the dead bodies. He is hated around the station due to his disturbing vibes and creepy appearance with only having one friend (Yale) but despite this he tries to be a nice person around with a very creepy hobby.
As a child and throughout adulthood, he has been through near death experiences, leaving him feeling isolated and making an outcast even with his family (but that’s for another day). As he grew up, he became obsessed with the cycle of life of death and studied death and how people died through ways. When he got into college, he went into forensics
“Everybody dies somebody, maybe even you, Marks. Whenever it is, we all have to be prepared because death always comes no matter what
He doesn’t join the team until much later in the game when the team are investigating the Clown and has him check out the bodies of the other victims which includes Harvard’s mom. When Harvard finds out about this and freaks out, he is able to calm him down and deduces that they are related. He then tells Harvard that whenever that goes down, he mustn’t kill the Clown or he’ll be kicked off his job.
Appearance: He is a scrawny and thin man who is quite tall, but not to pass as a giant. His hair is short black that looks like it has cut off recently and has blue eyes. He is always shown to wear a mask on his face, making people believed there was a horrific scar on his face. They’re…….. half-right with having a scar cover the left side of his face which he covers up with his mask and makeup.
Ultimate Move: Grim Checkup
George Cornwell
Age: 32
“With your brain and my knowledge, we are going to make a great team, I am sure of it!”
A criminologist who doesn’t work at the police station but runs into the gang many times throughout the story before getting wrapped up into the search for the Clown. He wants to talk to the Clown (not to a obsessive degree) and wants to understand why does he kill. He isn’t a part of the police but Granger and Maise let him in to talk to the team over the criminals they captured.
He is pretty wholesome and quite understanding to many people (sometimes criminals). When he discovers Harvard’s past after the game ends, he decides to take up the mantle of Harvard’s moral compass and gives him a therapist to help with hi: trauma. He shown to be protective to his loved ones, but not to point of overbearing.
“Hey, there’s been something in your chest for a little long time. You think that you keeping in it’s chest and refusing to let it out, but you’re wrong. If you don’t want to talk to me, that’s fine. But if you are not going talk about this to me and your team, you need to talk to somebody else.”
However his past is mysterious and he refuses to tell anyone not even his close friends about it. And it turns out he has a pretty good reason, but we’ll see later. He’ll explain it to Harvard near the end of the game
Ultimate move: Let me take a look in your mind.
Stanford Williams
Age: 24
“There’s a line between the ideal detective and the insane detective, and Harvard Marks you have crossed the line to insanity.”
He is a high ranking serious officer who is a deep rivalry against Harvard. He isn’t well liked due to his serious attitude towards most of the staff but he isn’t outright hated due to his contempence in the field. He has a hidden side to him, caring for his family and friends off the job and taking them to nice places to relax and have fun.
His father was a officer who WAS excellence in his job and WAS actually chosen to be the police chief instead of Granger. But, notice the emphasis on WAS. A few years (possibly in Stanford high school days), he was found dead in a murder similar to the Clown style. While it is now unknown if the Clown or a copycat of the Clown and the killer was never found, it still effected him and made wanted to hunt down other serial killers like them and bring them to justice so nobody would have to suffer what him and family did.
“The reason why we are looking for the Clown isn’t for revenge you fool, it’s for justice for those who were suffered in their hands!”
So you think with their history, him and Harvard would at least connect or be friends? WRONG. While Stanford views Harvard with great potential as a detective, he despises him for his willingness to break the rules in missions and cases and his wild insanity. While Harvard would have chosen a different career if his mother hadn’t died (unless the game discredits this), Stanford has wanted to be to become a detective ever since he was a child. With Harvard, he only met with him at police college for the 2 years he was in along with Carl and Stanford was at his last 2 years. Harvard found him annoying due to his overshadowing anybody in their class and overly aggressive attitude towards. (Funny thing is that one of the reasons why Stanford hates Harvard.) So when they both of them (and Carl) end up stuck in the same police station in the same city, none of them are pleased.
Ultimate Move: Sharps Slashes of Justice
So, here’s them all! What do you think of them? Which one is your favorite?

was reminded of jasmine and camellia...so i'm gonna talk about them (plus a bit about barley), because i never really have!
some tidbits of my hcs for chai's backstory are included in this, because, well, the ocs i'm talking about are literally his family so not including any of it would be kind of weird.
jasmine (she/they) chai's little sister. she's a 21-year-old nursing student.
she looks pretty similar to chai; brown hair, brown eyes, y'know. her hair's longer, though, and her fashion sense makes her sort of look like a librarian.
she, much like chai, was bullied when she was younger, though for different reasons. some of it was because of them being related. he stood up for and protected her, which resulted in him getting in trouble a lot. she's always been grateful for this, but does feel bad about how much shit he got in return.
the two of them were the best of friends well into adulthood. they lived together prior to chai leaving for vandelay island. not long before he left, they had a big fight, which resulted in him, well, leaving without a goodbye, and jasmine being on her own.
she has no clue what happened to him until a little while after the events of the game, as she sees some of her classmates watching a video of mimosa and chai's fight. from there, she makes her way to vandelay in the hopes of reconciling.
camellia (she/her) chai and jasmine's grandma. the former calls her gram; the latter calls her nana. she's retired and lives on her own.
she has short grey hair with only a little bit of brown left and brown eyes. she mostly wears flannels and jeans.
not long after jasmine was born, their parents left the two of them with camellia and her husband, barley. they raised chai and jasmine, of course. after barley passed away (around the time chai was 11), things got difficult. camellia did the best she could despite the grief and circumstances.
they moved around a lot, and camellia worked many different jobs. eventually, though, they settled down in a small town where she worked as a cleaner.
she's the reason chai loves music, especially rock. she plays guitar, and would often put on her old records when relaxing after work.
she's always supported chai and jasmine and their dreams. when things got hard, and boy, did they get hard, she was always there to comfort them. she helped chai save up for and generally pay for his college tuition. when the two moved out, she helped them get settled in to their new place.
they used to visit her whenever they could, but slowly, they stopped coming by as much. she never minded, though. she knew they were busy. besides, they always called at least once a week. well, for a while. now, only jasmine calls her.
barley (he/him) chai and jasmine's grandpa. the former called him pop; the latter called him papa. he died from cancer when they were young.
a jovial man, he always loved to tell jokes and make people smile. despite his happy nature, he had great disdain for his grandkids parents, which he did his best to keep from them.
he ran a bowling alley with his brother, and was extremely good at bowling itself. after he passed, his brother continued to run the alley and would send money to camellia every so often.
he had a lot of joke books and silly knickknacks, which he passed down to chai and jasmine.

is that OSCAR ISAAC ? oh, no, that’s OLIVER AYALA, a FORTY-THREE year old OWNER OF INHERITED ESCAPES who uses HE/HIM pronouns. they currently live in CASABLANCA and the character they identify with most is OBI-WAN KENOBI FROM STAR WARS. hopefully they find their own little paradise here in el país de los poetas!
BASICS:
full name: oliver ricardo ayala  nickname(s): oli, ricky (by his mother)  age: forty-three gender: cis man  pronouns: he/him sexuality: very fluid, doesn't particularly enjoy labels  date & place of birth: june 30 in guatemala city, guatemala occupation: owner of inherited escapes faceclaim: oscar isaac piercings: one lobe piercing on each ear he got just to feel something at age 20 traits: kind, welcoming, wise, snarky, closed-off, pessimistic similar to: obi-wan kenobi (star wars), george bailey (it's a wonderful life), tony stark (iron man), dean winchester (supernatural), han solo if he had swag and calmed down a little, jim halpert (the office)  aesthetics: late night coffee, tea with milk, books with worn edges, round reading glasses, gold jewelry, merlot, baseball caps, & vintage cars
* warning for alcoholism, parentification, & parent death
BULLET POINTS:
– born in guatemala city, guatemala; had a lot of siblings and had to grow up pretty quickly to help take care of them, especially since they weren't the wealthiest and his parents had to work. – his main model of a relationship growing up was his mom & dad, which ... not great. his father was a mean, mean man, and drowned himself in a bottle most days. he left when oliver was twelve years old, and from then on oliver was considered the man of the house (this action will have consequences)  – had to sacrifice a lot of his own personal growth and happiness for his family. while his siblings, especially his younger brother, got to go to school dances, out with their friends, and even to college, oliver was stuck, stagnant – eventually (sometime around oliver's 25th birthday) his father contacted him and asked him to come visit him in chile, where he resided and had opened up a small bookstore (what would become inherited escapes as it is today) – oliver denies him immediately, but after mulling it over, he decides to go. it strains him and his mother's relationship, but it's fixable – his dad is dying, and the new family he created in chile is of no help. having fallen into the same patterns, he's created children who resent him, and a wife who no longer speaks to him unless necessary. he asks oliver to come live there, to take over the bookstore when he dies – again, oliver denies him, but it eats at him. the more he thinks the more he wants to go, to finally do something for himself. by the time his dad dies, the last of his siblings is nearing eighteen and he could, feasibly, make the move. – a blowout fight with his mom is what triggers him to leave; she says he doesn't do anything for them, that he'll leave them when they need him most. he realizes that with his siblings now adults or nearing adulthood, he doesn't need to play parent anymore (and realizes he never should have had to play parent in the first place). – up and moves to chile at 26, becomes the owner of his father's bookstore; his other family puts up no contest. – renames it to inherited escapes and fashions it into a booming business that people actually come to see when they hear about it. – now runs the business full time and lives in the pretty spacious apartment above. it's weird for him, to continue the legacy of a man he hated so much, but that's why he changed the name, right?
HEADCANONS:
— does not believe in love. how can he when his parents' relationship sucked so bad ? – as a child and young adult drowned himself in books and escaped to new worlds to forget his situation at home. could often be found under a sheet with a flashlight reading at 2 am – as a result thinks no love will ever be able to compare to what's written in stories – hosts the bookclub at inherited escapes ! – accidentally adopts little nerds all the time ... sorry about it – secret hopeless romantic – loves trash tv. could tell you everything about the selling sunset universe and why alex hall needs to be jailed – kind of sassy like ... calm down old man??? – dry sense of humor
WANTED CONNECTIONS:
— i'm plotting. i'm scheming. i'm masterminding (i don't fucking know i'll be back here soon) – actually i lied. here the fuck i am. who is going to verify his belief love SUCKS. could be sad and also a bit unserious – who is he adopting like a stray kitten outside of his store. who is the child he is giving free drinks and going "you'd like this book here take it" – WHO IS IN HIS BOOK CLUB.  – who is going to make him believe maybe love does exist .... ooooh drama .... – whose face is he playing in lmao. "i don't want anything serious" is his favorite sentence like ...

Baby Smurf theory:
So, everyone knows that Baby Smurf was a mistake, right? That he wasn't supposed to be delivered? Ok, good, cuz my theory is about that.
I theorize that the reason why Baby Smurf's stork delivery was a mistake is that the grand majority of the Smurfs aren't old enough, or considered old enough, to raise a kid, and Papa is too old/too strung out to raise another (after 98 at the same time, I don't blame him).
Yeah, sure, they're at least 150 or so years old, but they've shown maturity levels closer to that of human teenagers/young adults than they do adults (which goes along with my headcanon that every 10 human years is equivalent to 1 Smurf year). And, sure, during the time period the Smurfs is supposed to take place in (I think it's the 1500s?), the age of adulthood was much different than it is now, but that doesn't change the fact that teens really should not be raising a child.
Now, I'm not saying that the relationships each Smurf has with Baby isn't adorable (especially Grouchy, who doesn't love a gruff guy with a soft spot?), but it can be a reasonable explanation for why he wasn't supposed to be there, besides some weird Smurf population limit.
Speaking of Grouchy, another reason that makes me believe the reason behind there being an age limit to raising a baby is because Baby was given back after Grouchy proved himself to be a loving, protective, and caring caretaker. If it was some sort of population limit that would've prevented Baby from being raised by the Smurfs, I'm not so sure he would've been given back, but if it was a problem of age/perceived maturity, then I can see why whoever sends the baby Smurfs would change their mind about taking Baby back.
As for why Papa is too strung out to raise another kid, besides him having already raised 98 is- He's still technically raising them. He's still guiding them down the right path and helping them as much as he can. Sure, he may not be as active of a role in their lives as he used to be, but that's mainly due to the fact that they're in their Smurf-teens. A lot of teens, especially at ages 15 and up, tend to stop going to their parents for things as often because they can handle themselves better than they used to. To give Papa another child while he's still struggling to raise his village is very reminiscent of Christian/Mormon families that keep having kids, despite being almost unable to take care of the ones they already have. He even acted kind of the same way, pushing the care of Baby onto the other Smurfs (especially Smurfette). Maybe he had good intentions, like he wanted his Smurfs to have the experience or for Baby to have a 'motherly' figure (which I don't see why it would be a problem if he didn't, after all the Smurfs don't have a motherly figure, and they turned out pretty decently), but it reads like a parent that's too stressed and exhausted from taking care of their older kids that they find themselves ill-prepared to take care of the younger ones. And turning their older ones into secondary parents in the process.
Wow, this went from a silly little theory to a rant really fast. Sorry about that 😅

I literally have no clue how to content warn Tushima’s lore cause there’s a LOT 😭 so I’m only going to go until he joins the government and i’ll work on another post going further in depth of his adulthood if I feel like it
The main content warnings (i think i’ve been working on this for like three days); death, death via suicide, abuse, kidnapping, experimentation, fires, murder, etc
• Tushima is the youngest of the Vivain brothers, his older brothers being Xander and Obake Vivain. He was raised as a girl (he’s trans) but other than that life started out okay
• When he was really young he lost his mother to suicide due to unseen mental health problems. Tushima is a spitting imagine of her (will be important) however he was too young at the time to really remember unlike his brothers so her death didn’t affect him the way it did the rest of his family (as he hadn’t had a grasp on death yet but oh boy will he soon)
• His father starts gathering resentment for his kids and neglecting them in all sorts of ways out of his grief for losing the wife he loved with all his heart; however he always treated Tushima with love and care due to be a spitting image of his late wife and would never hurt him cause if it
• As Tushima grew older he started transitioning, and he became a lot more aware of his father’s abusive behavior towards his older brothers. He always puts himself between him and his father if he was about to hit Xander or Obake; using the fact that their father would never hurt him to protect his brothers
• Their father soon remarried a woman who had fallen on hard times and they were basically just using each other; Obake and Xander never liked her, Tushima does cause she’s nice and never really knew his mother.
• His stepmom soon became pregnant with Jean-Eve, Tushima’s little half sister, and divorced his father not wanting her child to grow up around him
• Tushima falls into a gang at some point during high school due to meeting Inadv, one of his love interests. Tushima also becomes incredibly close friends with the rest of the gang; Ivy and Sage (twins), Fiora, Silas, Naomi, and Pearl
• Here’s where things start going downhill—fast
• Tushima was fwb with Inadv for a good while before meeting Elyta and getting together with her, cutting off the fwb deal with Inadv; however Inadv caught feelings (though he knows his boundaries and is happy for him)
• Tushima, age 18, gets accepted into a prestigious college that he never wanted to go too but he qualified and his brothers made fill out an application. Obake’s best friend, Molotov, also got accepted so he and Tushima arrived at college together
• Night one he and Molotov are kidnapped in the night and wake up in cages. Tushima recognizes a ton of other students from when he and Molotov first walked into the building to get their room keys
• Tushima’s attention is brought to the “scientist” unlocking his cage, before he knows it he’s getting grabbed and forced somewhere, he can hear Molotov’s faint yells getting further and further away
• The “scientists” strap Tushima down onto a bed as Tushima frantically tries to free himself; only to get muzzled and have his entire body forced still as the headmaster he always saw on the news comes out of the shadows with a syringe full of a weird green liquid, Tushima screams in agony as he gets injected with it (he has lifelong trauma with needles after this)
• They toss him back in the cage and he’s already feeling violently ill; that’s when he notices his body changing. His skin turns to black scales that rip his clothing, his teeth turn into fangs, nails into claws, and tentacles growing out of his back. He coughs up a green liquid before hearing a pleased voice behind him, without having any control over his body he’s slashing at the person through the bars; just slightly out of reach.
• Apparently he’s “perfect” and “just what they’re looking for”
• Since then his “college studies” were normal during the day but at night he was always forced into fighting and killing other students; “failed text subjects” as they called them, made Tushima feel sick. They all had one thing in common, they were horrifically disfigured to the point you’d think they were something out of those zombie movies
• He hated killing them, he always felt so fucking guilty and sick afterwards, but every time he refused he was given a liquid that stopped him from going into his “other form” or whatever you wish to call it to protect himself as the scales are impenetrable. Whenever this happened he’d get abused and beaten so badly it looks like a fucking murder scene, which it probably would have been if it were anyone other than him.
• After “graduating” Tushima and Molotov came home so much different than before. Tushima had always been closed off and quiet; but now he simply looked and sounded dead. Like he was a robot or ghost
• A couple months later he and the gang + Elyta run into Kiara and her colleagues; a rival “gang” if you will. Tushima knew from the glint in her eyes that there was something she was interested in; and Inadv had it. She and Inadv come to a deal that if he and the gang leave she won’t touch them, but as soon as his back is turned, a sharp spike goes straight through his stomach. Kiara kneels down next to him and takes a vial of that green liquid Tushima had been injected with before turning and leaving.
• Breaking out of his shock he rushes over to Inadv and collapses, frantically trying to stop the bleeding, screaming and begging for Inadv to keep his eyes open.
• Nothing works and Tushima and the rest of the gang are in tears, Tushima realizing he’d fallen for Inadv like Inadv fell for him, but it was far too late and Inadv died there in his arms (he fell too fast and he fell too late)
• a while after Inadv’s death, Tushima is contacted by a man named “Disappear” who had apparently formulated a plan to get back at the college that ruined both their lives. Intrigued, Tushima and his friends show up at the meeting spot. There Disappear, a man in his mid-late 30s, explains he was a victim of the college’s experiments and when he’d heard of Tushima and his ability and blood’s unique reaction to the injection he needed to get in contact with him. (Oh and Disappear also has a husband named Flawless who just looked like he was happy to be there)
• A week before the mission was set to take place (all sorts of people were involved including Tushima’s brothers), Tushima is smoking on a rooftop when someone comes up behind him. That someone is Kiara fucking Hayes. The girl who murdered Inadv
• He’s instantly on guard but she raises her hands to show she doesn’t mean any harm and sits down next to him, pulling out her own cigarettes. That’s when she and him start to have a one-on-one, both of them getting progressively more relaxed with each other.
• “Sorry about Inadv.” “Sorry for judging a book by it’s cover.” “Pff.. you’re a dork.” “Hey!”
• Kiara explains that she wants to help Tushima, to make up for what happened awhile back is what she explained but Tushima was sure there was more to it
• During the mission, after having evacuated everyone and rescuing the ones being experimented on, Kiara and Tushima are left 2 vs 1 with the headmaster who, for an old dude, is a lot more challenging to take on than he looks. And the fact the building’s on fire and burning down doesn’t help in the slightest
• He manages to knock Tushima so hard into a wall he cracks his head open and falls to the ground. The headmaster goes to kill him but as soon as he strikes at Tushima, Kiara jumps in the way and takes a sword straight through her arm (leaving her with permanent nerve damage afterwards)
• Tushima manages to force himself back into consciousness but the second he sees Kiara on the ground, holding her bleeding arm with the headmaster standing above her, he snaps and instantly “shifts” (literally have no clue how to describe him going into his corrupted form) into his corrupted form, losing all sense of control and tackling the headmaster to the ground before he could react and sinking his teeth into his neck until the body stopped moving
• Changing back he hurries over to Kiara and helps her up and over to the window Disappear was at
• “You okay?” “Yeah, just a flesh wound” “You’re bleeding way too much. we need to get you medical attention” “Vivain, I am fine”
• The sounds footsteps are hurrying toward where Tushima, Kiara, and Disappear are. Kiara urges Tushima to come with them but he tells Disappear to get Kiara and the others out of there and he’ll stall time for them, and Kiara is very much not happy about it
• “You guys go on ahead, I’ll give you time while they arrest me.” “Vivain what the fuck are you thinking?! Come on lets go, the building’s coming down!” “Hayes—Kiara. I’ll be fine, get out of here.”
• Disappear, quite literally dragging Kiara away, makes their escape with the others while Tushima is left behind when a flurry of government agents storm the building and aim guns at him. Putting his hands up, and behind his head, he gets on his knees as the agents all check the scene around them. Then—to Tushima’s surprise—the leader grabs him by the arm and hauls him up. Informing him that the government could use his ability to their advantage, and it would pay handsomely, and Tushima is initially very reluctant at the idea until the government brings his family into it—giving him no choice but to accept the “deal” of working for them.
