This will be comprehensive to only a select few people but the reason why Dragon Age: Origins objectively rules and stands out from its sequels is because it somehow manages to perfectly capture the vibe of Jim Henson’s The Storyteller (1988).
The fantasy politics of Inquisition were okay but what about when there was just a random tree spirit who only spoke in rhymes for no discernible reason? Peak storytelling. Bring the poet-tree back.

so aside from Bill and Charlie, I don’t actually like any of the Weasleys (talking book canon, not fanon or movies). most share a naive binary « you’re with me or against me » mentality in which they are always in the right/have the moral high ground and can be prejudiced or outright cruel to those who oppose it. from major ideological disputes to differing opinions and interests, if you don’t agree, then you’re not worth their time or affection. or they’re just not wonderful people.
Arthur: this is a man who is so grossly incompetent that after years working in an office specializing in muggle artifacts, he still has no idea how muggle life works or even how to pronounce basic words. treats muggles like fascinating creatures to be studied, not humans, despite having vague ideologies about supporting their existence. operates as a supporting act to his wife, not as a united front. had more children than he can afford to support on his salary. raised those children to believe all Slytherin are evil.
Molly: majorly judgmental and passive aggressive woman who wields her love and approval like a bait and switch for her children. so smothering that every single one of her adult children got out ASAP. claimed a literal 14/15 year girl was a harlot based off rumors and completely discarding years of friendly relations. despised her first son’s fiancée for having the audacity to be beautiful, French, and disagree with her opinions. cut all contact with Percy when he joined the ranks of the ministry/not wanting to die for Dumbledore’s cause that seemed under manned and outmatched, despite him giving no indication that he was involved with DE. had too many children to give appropriate attention, care, and support to, leaving them to feel neglected and not worthy.
Percy: stuck up snob yes, but I don’t think his ambition is necessarily a bad thing considering he grew up without a lot and wants différent for himself. What he is is sort of tunnel minded in thinking that just because he doesn’t outright support DE, that his work in the clearly corrupt ministry was doing any good. Following the law is right in theory but not all laws are fair. He swung too far in the other direction when he could have used his position to warn people about policies set up to hurt them.
Fred & George: for those who like them, they’re wonderful and brilliant pranksters down for a good time any time. But they turned their brother’s teddy bear into a spider in his arms giving him lifelong trauma. Relentlessly terrorized Percy in the name of a joke (that he was the butt of and never enjoyed). stuck that Slytherin kid Montague in such a life threatening situation that he had to risk untested apparition to get out and survive and laughed about it. Boo-d literal children who got sorted into Slytherin and set the tone that a sorting out of their control was enough reason to be mocked and degraded.
Ron: wants everything but doesn’t work to get it. He complains when he’s not the best but you don’t see his efforts to improve. Loves being Harry’s friend but hates being « Harry Potter’s » friend and takes that frustration out on him. Always willing to assign everyone the worst motivations from outsiders like Viktor to any Slytherin to his best friends Harry and Hermione. He’s just really petty.
Ginny: has a celebrity crush on a kid at age 10 and holds onto that for years despite very limited interaction with the person in question, which is super creepy. like her mother, she hates on Fleur for having the audacity to be beautiful, French, and receive Bill’s love (apparently it is also her fault that guys in general are smitten with her). we’re told she received support and advice from Hermione about Harry and then when Hermione expressed concern that Harry didn’t agree with, Ginny immediately cut her down and invalidated that. not too much to go off with Ginny but with the little I read it’s not good.

“I made a mistake, Kemp, a huge mistake, in carrying this thing through alone. I have wasted strength, time, opportunities. Alone—it is wonderful how little a man can do alone! To rob a little, to hurt a little, and there is the end. “What I want, Kemp, is a goal-keeper, a helper, and a hiding-place, an arrangement whereby I can sleep and eat and rest in peace, and unsuspected. I must have a confederate. With a confederate, with food and rest—a thousand things are possible. “Hitherto I have gone on vague lines. We have to consider all that invisibility means, all that it does not mean. It means little advantage for eavesdropping and so forth—one makes sounds. It’s of little help—a little help perhaps—in housebreaking and so forth. Once you’ve caught me you could easily imprison me. But on the other hand I am hard to catch. This invisibility, in fact, is only good in two cases: It’s useful in getting away, it’s useful in approaching. It’s particularly useful, therefore, in killing. I can walk round a man, whatever weapon he has, choose my point, strike as I like. Dodge as I like. Escape as I like.” Kemp’s hand went to his moustache. Was that a movement downstairs? “And it is killing we must do, Kemp.” “It is killing we must do,” repeated Kemp. “I’m listening to your plan, Griffin, but I’m not agreeing, mind. Why killing?” “Not wanton killing, but a judicious slaying. The point is, they know there is an Invisible Man—as well as we know there is an Invisible Man. And that Invisible Man, Kemp, must now establish a Reign of Terror. Yes; no doubt it’s startling. But I mean it. A Reign of Terror. He must take some town like your Burdock and terrify and dominate it. He must issue his orders. He can do that in a thousand ways—scraps of paper thrust under doors would suffice. And all who disobey his orders he must kill, and kill all who would defend them.”
There's so much going on in this conversation. First, the obvious irony of Griffin telling Kemp how he understands now that he needs a helper he can trust, while Kemp is trying to ensure he gets caught in the next few minutes. Griffin saying that he will be easily imprisoned once caught but that he's hard to catch, as Kemp frets over whether they will be able to catch him now. That's pretty obvious, and both funny and also sad. It's perfectly understandable for Kemp to want Griffin to be caught even before he talks about this plan, but it sucks that Griffin's sincerity is just completely bouncing off him. Griffin is for the first time trying to make a connection with someone (something that could potentially turn this situation around) but he's been rejected from the start.
But there's also... what is Griffin talking about? This goes from 'yeah, Griffin, you shouldn't be going it alone' to 'no Griffin not like that holy shit' real damn fast. And it's really interesting in the context of the rest of his behavior, because... this really doesn't seem to match it throughout most of the book so far.
Griffin has used plenty of violence before now. He defaults to threats or physical harm when he feels too vulnerable or powerless. But while he's been reckless and careless with it, there has never really been premeditated malice to anything he does. He's not scheming evil upon others. He's mostly reacting, again, often in what seems a kind of panic. When he gets most violent, at least. He has done harmful things with forethought, but those are mostly limited to theft, and are informed by selfishness and a lack of consideration/awareness of potential consequences.
He also has been consistently motivated by curing his invisibility. He wants his resources back, and privacy/freedom to work in order to do just that. He very quickly decided making himself invisible was a shortsighted mistake, as he encountered drawback after drawback in the immediate aftermath. He also wasn't motivated by any particular single goal of seizing power when he made himself invisible. He was deeply depressed and clinging to 'seeing it through', and then panicked when he came into conflict with his landlord. His paranoia about his invention was intense, but that too is linked to him seeking control over his own life, not others' as such.
So then, why this turnaround? Well, last chapter he said this:
"I had one hope. It was a half idea! I have it still. It is a full blown idea now. A way of getting back! Of restoring what I have done. When I choose. When I have done all I mean to do invisibly."
So, now it seems Griffin's motivation has shifted. He no longer wants immediate relief from invisibility. Instead, he wants to do things while invisible first. He wants to establish a Reign of Terror, to take over a town by utilizing his invisibility in the only way he can see it being of practical use: murder and the spreading of fear. But he says that as a 'must' as 'judicious'. So it's still not for the pleasure of it. Then, why?
First, I frankly don't believe Griffin is actually capable of enforcing the kind of siege he describes here. Physically maybe (depending on how unprepared others are), but emotionally I don't think he could keep it up. He'd collapse, he'd succumb to the guilt he clearly does feel at times. When he's not in a constant state of high emotion (largely fear, which with Griffin transitions seamlessly into rage) he wouldn't be able to keep murdering people so coldly and logically. He can of course work himself up over time, and can hold a grudge, which might be enough to get him started enacting this plan, but I don't believe he could see it through all the way. Still enough to do monstrous things, of course, just not enough to be effective at establishing his goal. (And even that shows his typical lack of forethought. Does he think that no one else would help them? That this town would just succumb to him in total isolation?)
But why does he even want it? I think it actually reflects all his same motivations until now. He feels cornered and he reacts badly, lashing out at others. As the rejection builds all around him, as his options dwindle, as his fear and helplessness grow - he consistently reacts by escalating and proving everyone's worst assumptions about him correct. And right now, even though he has found Kemp and thinks he can mostly trust him, it's not enough to make him feel safe. There are lots of people actively hunting him, now. And he can't just stay in Kemp's rooms forever. He would hate the idea, would feel imprisoned. He doesn't think much of stealing from others, but absolutely hates being stolen from (and he has so little, that the loss feels correspondingly huger), especially something like his books which contain the key to freeing him. So being here is a brief reprieve but he's still deeply afraid. And that makes him deeply angry. And so he wants revenge, he wants to punish them (in general, who make him feel afraid - and Marvel in particular, who has 'betrayed' him).
He also quite likely knows even with his idea it will take an unknown but likely significant amount more time to perfect his cure. So even if all he wanted was to be cured, he would need a safe place to work until then. And the tension is so high right now, his fear of being betrayed is so strong, that I don't think he believes it would be possible to do the necessary work unless he has the town cowed under his invisible heel.
“I don’t agree to this, Griffin,” he said. “Understand me, I don’t agree to this. Why dream of playing a game against the race? How can you hope to gain happiness? Don’t be a lone wolf. Publish your results; take the world—take the nation at least—into your confidence. Think what you might do with a million helpers—”
This line is also key. Kemp urges Griffin to confide in others. All his considerations of the usefulness of invisibility were from the perspective of a lone man against a cruel world. Very selfish and very assuming of a hostile environment. This too is reflected in Griffin's treatment of the few people he has reached out to - Marvel and Kemp. In both cases, he seeks understanding and sympathy. But he also seeks it at metaphorical gunpoint, by threatening them with what he could invisibly do to harm them. It's because as much as he may pour out his heart to Kemp here, he doesn't fully trust him. He doesn't fully trust anyone. By collaborating with them, all he is doing is giving them power over him, and that means they have power to hurt him. So instead he clings to his own power to hurt them first.
In Griffin's eyes, there is no such thing as an equal relationship. There is such thing as trust rewarded, or even given freely. And so in order to ensure his own safety he has to be the one in charge. He has to convince Kemp that they will both reap great rewards, he has to be able to hurt him and get away should anything fall through.
It all ties in perfectly with his backstory of being an outsider (albino, not socially adept at all), and being poor (in many ways powerless). And of course, it is such a self-fulfilling prophecy of terrible outcomes. If you only give violence, you're only getting violence in return. Someone has to let their guard down first, someone has to be willing to trust and be vulnerable for things to ever change. But Griffin is convinced that would be a mistake to ever fully do. And as much as I want to tell him he's wrong, his experiences corroborate that view. Everywhere he goes, he's experienced rejection and hate, or nosiness and distrust at best, no matter how much he tries to be on his best behavior. Every time he even partially lets down his guard or reaches out to others, they turn on him. And of course so much of that is because of the way he never fully relaxes, the way he always keeps a threat hanging over their heads, but he's not gonna see that. All he's gonna see is that he's been right all along. That he truly is in this alone. That he has to be selfish and he has to hit first and hit harder because he is outnumbered and if they catch him he won't be able to get away.

Lestat at the start of The Tale of the Body Thief:
Hi! I’m The Vampire Lestat! I’m 6ft tall & VERY attractive! Miami’s pretty great! Apart from all vampires can’t stand each other so we’re all solitary now! I love that though! (Even though I am in love with all vampires. I wonder where my beautiful mother, who is also my child is?)
I love killing the evildoer!!!… Can I be good if I save just one human who would have been murdered from death….? I don’t think so (but I’d appreciate it if you thought so!)
Wait… this murderer I’ve been following is utterly insane & unaware he’s even a murderer… I won’t even get to drink all his delicious murdery thoughts… how very disappointing… AND he’s not even beautiful! He’s ugly & dirty & mad…. but that old lady he was going to kill… she is so wonderful: her incredible life & self & the skeleton leaf of her younger self that she remains as now. Why, we even have the same taste in novels! I guess I’ll kill the murderer. SIGH. That was unsatisfying….
…Whoops I killed the lady too. In a very sexy way though! I’m so awful! (It was so Romantic!) I’m hungry for MORE!
Why is this weird person who’s followed me round the world giving me a story? Probably just some mad mortal & it means nothing.
Oh look, there’s David Talbot! I think I might have ruined his life, but I’ll just follow him everywhere anyway. I do worry about him.
I’d write a book about Rembrandt & The Devil if I was mortal. Here’s my plot summary… maybe that writer - Anne Rice could write it for me….? Obviously, since I’m a vampire, *I* can only write about MYSELF!!!
Gosh! I wish Claudia would stop haunting me. I can’t talk about it really, but I wish Akasha hadn’t turned me into a cipher to the terror of masculinity & made me a massacring evil Angel from which I can never absolve myself. And worse… I enjoyed it. It was sexy too. Why did I (sexily) kill that old lady? I THINK IT IS TIME TO SHUFFLE OFF THIS (IM)MORTAL COIL!!!
Well, I know I said I’d ruined David’s life, but I think I’ll just nip in for a visit & tell him he’s got less than a year to live & that I’m suicidal & am off to kill myself immediately…. But I’ll check a few hundred times if he’d like to be a vampire too! Just to torture him some more. David’s so funny! Why on Earth is he reading Faust & the bible!!!?! Bonkers!! Mmmmm… David is so beautiful & sexy too. But yes. I am ready to DIE.
I don’t know if I can kill myself, but I AM THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, so OF COURSE I’ll make like Icarus himself & fly directly into the sun! I’ll eat the sun if I can! I MUST MAKE SURE I AM TOTALLY NAKED BEFORE I FLY TO MY DEATH! Did you hear me? I’m taking my clothes OFF!!! I’m flying to the sun NAKED! I’ve done it! I have no clothes on at all! Are you sure you’re not thinking about how sad it is that I want to die & you’re definitely thinking about how naked I am instead?
I’m not in any way thinking about how I might only get a sun tan from this & I don’t want it to be uneven. I am SUICIDAL! I’m suicidal AND naked! I do sometimes lie to myself. But I wouldn’t lie to you. So let’s just say it’s one & the same to me - if I am blotted from existence or if I just get a marvellous tan. OK THEN! You’re absolutely certain you’re thinking about how naked I am?! Let’s go!
Oh no! I’m not dead, but this hurts a lot. I wish I was dead… I don’t think the sun can kill me…. But let’s give it one more go….
Omg… I gave it two whole days & this hurts a lot & it might take a year to kill me. I think I’ll just stay alive after all. I’ll just go lie naked on David’s tiger rug for 3 days as I contemplate my existence some more (he killed that tiger, you know!) I’m sure this won’t traumatise him any further & that it has zero psychological implications.
3 days later! I *suppose* I’d better put some clothes on now.
Woohoo! I’m glad I’m not dead actually. OMG I have such a FABULOUS sun tan! I have never looked more exquisitely beautiful! Thank GOODNESS I had the prescience to attempt suicide NAKED in order that I’ve made total use of this effect! Look at my iridescent eyes! Yippee! I’m so excited I could do a tap dance! I can’t believe I wanted to die so very deeply & now I’m filled with delight about how pretty I am! I think I’ll try to kill myself more often! Next time I’ll make sure that as I feel the sun like the fire of Hell upon my skin, I do a little twirl, just to make sure the tan is that much more even!

Twitter (or “X”, I guess) is currently losing its mind over a media analysis video that implies King Kong might have some racially charged (or even racist) themes. Thoughts?
I actually talked about this recently here: https://tyrantisterror.tumblr.com/post/730214779314176000/kaiju-twitter-is-currently-in-a-tizzy-because
But I also think King Kong (1933) has a somewhat undeserved sterling reputation in general. Even critics who have otherwise been quick to be hypercritical and dismissive of monster movies talk about King Kong as if it's a "perfect" movie, because historically King Kong has always been considered a classic. And, like, historically speaking, yes, King Kong will always be an important and groundbreaking film. It's a landmark moment in special effects.
But if you take the special effects out of it... you're not really left with much to rave about. The acting in King Kong ranges from passable to outright bad (and racist when you consider the islanders and Charlie the inexplicable Chinese Stereotype cook who exists for... comic relief? I guess?), the characters themselves are thin, the dialogue can be very good but also outright atrocious, and the camerawork (again, outside of special effects) is nothing to rave about. King Kong has a reputation for perfection that's solely hinged on cool special effects and a shitload of nostalgia. It does not have the depth to its storytelling of, say, Godzilla (1954), which had to claw and fight over decades to be reappraised by critics for its many virtues. All King Kong has is groundbreaking special effects.
And those special effects are really good, don't get me wrong. You feel for that monkey before the movie ends, and the wonder and terror of Skull Island's ecosystem of monsters is rightfully iconic. But if you dig past that - and you have to if you want to analyze the movie, because most of it is surface level stuff - you're not left with much to analyze, and what there is to analyze are a bunch of racist tropes that were old and timeworn by the time King Kong was made, and much more so now. Evil black savages who want to sacrifice a white woman because of her enchanting Aryan beauty, a giant ape who's horny for said white woman because of said enchanting Aryan beauty, heroic white men risking everything as they plunder an evil, backwards island of degenerate relics from the past that were best left forgotten, Charlie the Chinese Cook who is exactly as grating a racial stereotype of Chinese people as you'd expect from the 1930's - yeah, all of these tropes have racist roots, and whether or not the racism was intended by the creators doesn't really matter, because they certainly did nothing to try and mitigate it or divorce the tropes from those racist roots. It's a racist movie, an undeniably racist movie, which isn't something that should surprise people because it's from the 19fucking30's.
And that doesn't mean we have to condemn King Kong, and that watching it makes you a problematic Nazi MAGA chud, or that we're not allowed to praise what's good about it (i.e. the special effects). It just means that, maybe, after 90 years of completely untempered praise from all corners of the film world, maybe it's time to admit that King Kong, while still a classic, is not a perfect movie. That it has some flaws. And maybe we can start by admitting the really obvious flaw of it being a movie from the 1930's that reflects the 1930's attitudes about race which were, you know, not great, and then from there we could maybe talk about how it reflects 1930's attitudes about gender (also not great), and then to how the acting in it is mostly bad, and then to how the scriptwriting is... let's say uneven, and then maybe admit that really we just like the monster bits and the rest is kind of forgettable at best, and that Godzilla is a far superior movie in all respects.
But I think what's likely to happen is people will viciously defend the movie without thinking about it critically for a moment, because nuance and honest self reflection is for chumps.

I have further spare Aglaya thoughts. Cannot stop thinking about how whenever Aglaya mentions her hatred towards Nina it's predicated on Nina's cruelty/disregard for others contrasted against Aglaya's lines like “To this day, I've been paying for my kind-heartedness,” “It's a pity that everyone sees an enemy in me. Such is the bias against inquisitors. I only wish to do good; not specific, targeted good, like that Clara, but overarching good,” “I am a humanitarian. My duty is to save people, not kill them. I only condemn a few to death for the sake of the many.” That “I've been paying for my kind-heartedness” and “It's a pity that everyone sees an enemy in me” just make my heart hurt for her because I do sincerely believe her. Yes she is cruel towards Clara and deceives Daniil but I've said it before I will say it again: 1) I love Daniil so very much but *everyone* warned him not to trust her and 2) nearly every Patho character is an opportunist and/or trying to act after being dealt and incredibly shitty hand, which often results in deception and cruelty towards others. Aglaya is no different in my mind.
Also a particular detail in her dialogue which caught my eye is when she remarks that, “For a moment, I thought [Block] was driven by the same feeling that I am: a great man, when unexpectedly betrayed by the people he loves, will often seek to fill the whole universe with his blind spite. Yes, the feeling is indeed familiar...” I wonder what this refers to. My first thought is presumably Nina, but I can't quite imagine Aglaya feeling betrayed by her? It seems like they were too opposed? Like. I have no idea if I can articulate this well, but: Nina and Aglaya seem so alike yet fundamentally different that I just imagine tension would be endemic in their relationship. Also the way Aglaya characterizes her in the quote “Nina was the embodiment of absolute evil. The charming, intoxicating, beautiful evil, the evil that can drive you mad. The graceful and elegant evil that is fast to capture anyone in its web—even those who stand up to evil till the very last.” She calls Nina evil constantly. It is the lifeblood of her motivation—to destroy what her sister created. But that betrayal lines makes me think about what sort of uncomfortable love one can only have towards a family member that they fucking hate, like Aglaya does indeed think Nina is evil but also she is her (little?) sister and presumably grew up with her and I doubt Aglaya could see her as just wholly evil. That entire mess. Just compels me, particularly in how it adds another aspect to Nina.
I often think about how Nina is this object of terror and adoration more than a character in Patho Classic. Even sometimes, in my opinion, more an embodiment of utopia as Simon is for creation. Everyone close to her or who merely knew her as Mistress absolutely reveres her, perhaps even more after her death (which I think is the point, but, I digress). So to me, Aglaya and Maria have the most interesting dynamics with Nina because only through them does Nina feel more "real" to me, insofar as a character can. The dichotomy between Aglaya and Nina nicely contrasts this to me. Yes other characters allude to Nina being terrifying and so forth, but Aglaya's declarations that Nina is evil aren't accompanied by any reverence or respect or adoration that often does other characters' discussions of her. And it's yes Maria idolizes her, but as a child idealizes their parent. That is entirely separate from other characters who appear closest to Nina in Patho Classic: Victor, Andrey, and Peter, all of whom presumably had some sort of romantic attachment to her (if to various degrees and requitedness). Maria looks up to her, and in her words, “shall become her, [...] shall overcome her...” Maria interests me in that vein, that she aims to surpass her mother, and thus her idealization is necessarily different than others' who solely worship her.
I did not intend to write that much but this is what thinking about the Kaina-Lilich women does to a motherfucker. Apparently.

PERMANENT PLOTTER FOR OLIVER~.
Tumblr media
I think it's time I start to branch off on what I wanna do for Oliver. He's got a lot to learn, of course, being that he's still a kid. he's tasted freedom and what the world is like with all of its Normalcy like a world with a sun, clear blue skies, and all of that stuff. There are a lot of things I wanna explore with Oliver so here we go!
Both who have interacted with Oliver and have yet to interact with Oliver are welcome to engage in this plotter call! As long as our muses can vibe with mine and they can click in any way, as long as we can see our muses going somewhere, then yes!!! Please, consider meeting my baby boy.
By liking this, I'll safely assume that you're okay with me hopping into your IMS or DMS (if we have each other's Discord) for plotting reasons, Memes on memeday, and sponty starters. I usually already do these (not all the time), but if you'd prefer I ask first before I throw one at you, please let me know ahead of time. I love, love, LOVE sponty starters, but I understand that some may not be down for that. I will always ask and communicate. Anyway, this isn't just for Oliver, this is probably for your character as well!
Let's develop our babies together!!!!!
Under this read more are lists of relationships that I'm looking for.
Friends: Oliver has met a lot of people here since his arrival. He's met ALL kinds of people, really. A lot of them are acquaintances. Maybe he's met just a small handful of people he can call a friend, but I don't know. Anyway, Oliver is pretty easy to get along with, if anything a little different and there's nothing wrong with that. Oliver is the biggest hype boy, so you'll always have him in your corner hyping you up and supporting you.
Enemies: It's hard to make an enemy out of Oliver. Even if you're a monster out there terrorizing people and such, he only does what he does because it is part of his job. It's expected of him. He doesn't really hold any ill feelings toward monsters as he ALSO understands that it is what they do. Anyway, to make an enemy out of Oliver may be a challenging one, actually. Still, it's not impossible. Oliver considers the people he's gotten close to as his family and Oliver is a family boy. So, the quickest way to get on his shitlist is to mess with them.
Sparring Partner: Oliver LOVES sparring. he loves anything that gets his blood pumping like exercises and stuff. Whatever chance he gets, he's always looking for a sparring partner, so if you feel this is right up your character's ally, hit him up! He's always going to say yes to sparring.
Hunt: Oliver is good at tracking things down with his nose. He may be capped right now, but yeah! If you're having a pest problem whether it's monsters or just evil-doers or what have you, Oliver is your guy for hire. In his world, he was a monster hunter anyway, so hunting in general is his thing!
Mentor: There are maybe a small select few he'd call a mentor back home, but here in Spirale he hasn't come across any yet. Maybe Garry. Anyway, he's still a child. He is going to need help being guided and nurtured into a wonderful person. There's always something to learn and there's a shit ton that Oliver does not know about the world and overall just anything in general!
Found family: Garry is so far his found family. He found her all on his own and he's so happy to have them! As I've mentioned in I believe the beginning of (enemies section), Oliver is a family kid. He loves the idea of being surrounded by family whether blood or not. He'll do anything for those he deems super close to him.
Crush/Romance: This goes hand in hand with romance. THIS does not give an open invitation to be a creep. I will block on sight. Anyway, Oliver is a kid. he's 16 and he's going to have crushes here and there and he's going to one day meet someone where he wants to spend his entire life with and that's okay! When it comes to crushes or falling in love with someone, it can be a one-sided thing. Anyway, this isn't really something I'm focusing on. I just thought I'd throw this in there.
IF THERE IS OTHER IDEAS YOU HAVE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
If you wanna know where Oliver frequents in Spirale, please let me know! I haven't gotten around to writing what locations he likes going to on his stats just yet, but there are so many places he'd explore and check out. There are a handful of places he really likes going though.

To Denounce the Evil’s of Truth and Love
Part 5!
Masterlist
First chapter/ Previous Chapter/  Next Chapter
Content under the cut!
Twilight was trying hard to come to grips with this.
He hadn’t intended for his secret to fall apart as fast as it did. And he certainly didn’t think it would drive the poor girl into a devastated panic. She was on the verge of tears as she apologized over and over and over again.
Hyrule looked as concerned and confused as Twilight felt.
“Um..” He tried to step closer. “...Are you ok?”
To add to his confusion and slowing mounting terror, she started laughing. “How am I possibly ok? We only needed the one person so that we could finally track down the cause of this problem and seal away the crumbling and searing tears of our reality and instead we have two other captives who felt like joining along for the ride, endangering themselves for no good reason just because what? You felt like it? Do you know the guy?”
“Yes.” Twilight and Hyrule say in unison.
It does not help the girl as she falls to her knees. She might be having a breakdown, Twilight notes and shifts a look to Hyrule. The other boy has a little bit of decency to look nervous and ashamed. The girl whines and it;s a pitiful sound to Twilight’s ears. “Yes to whhaatt?”
“Both.” They repeat together at the same time.
She hangs her head over her knees and stays like that for a moment, shoulders moving slightly. She might be crying.
Twilight feels awkward. Of all the possible reactions he was anticipating when they eventually realized that Sky wasn’t the only one they had around, (captive or stowaway) this wasn’t one of them. She sounded horrified and heartbroken and maybe Twilight had misjudged her character compared to the other two.
She looks up at him- him, not Hyrule- and with tears streaking down her face, her eyes contain an unreadable emotion. “So you’re risking your life… because you felt like it?”
Twilight scratches the back of his neck. “Not necessarily. It’s the hero’s duty, ma’am.”
“We all feel it.” Hyrule helps. “We’re all heroes… If you wanted our help, you could have just talked to the group instead of just kidnapping our friend.”
She shakes her head. “Admittedly, it wasn’t my idea. And yet here I am having to both clean up the mess and organize and execute the plans.”
She sighs and rubs her eyes. “What do you mean by heroes though? Last I checked, there was only the Champion That Survived but he’s gone missing months ago.”
“Actually-” Twilight winces. “I know the guy. He’s in our group too.”
She groans and roughly runs her hands over her scalp, ruffling her hair aggressively as she goes. “This is horrific. I hate this. Why am I the one-”
She stops herself and gets to her feet. “Forget this. A job has to be done. But we can’t let the other one go. Is that why you’ve stayed as long as you have?”
Twilight freezes in his spot at the sudden change of atmosphere. She went from near unconsolable to determined and steady in the blink of an eye- evidence of her breakdown ignored. It gives his whiplash and he feels his mind reeling with the effects of this. She still stares him down expectantly.
Hyrule rubs his arm and raises a hand. “In my defense, I was in a bottle.”
She sighs, and pinches the top of her nose. “Valid. Anything else? Do you plan on leaving then? Get the rest of your group and perform a so-called ‘rescue mission’ and put a stop to us from fixing the problem?”
Twilight also looks at Hyrule. He’s seen how they treat Sky and how he’s been treated. They’re really not bad people. Just… weird and they go about things not in the way he would personally do it. But they’re not touched by destiny or divinity like they all have been to an extent. So maybe it’s just personal opinion at any rate.
Hyrule however, has not received the same treatment and should he go back and give a bad report, Twilight doesn’t doubt that the others would come in with as many bomb and flames as they can. Part of him wonders if they’re already planning on doing that with the amount they’ve already spent away from the group but he’s been ignoring it for as long as he can allow himself to do so. Twilight wonders that if the longer they take to find them and the longer they stay with the trio, the bigger fire power the other Links plan to bring, from the skies if they must. Granted, the girl in front of him is more than capable of extinguishing all their literal fire power, but he doesn’t wish any harm on the trio.
But maybe it’s just the girl in front of him that he’s gotten attached to.
Hyrule coughs. “I’m actually…. Intrigued by your operation here. I wouldn’t mind staying. And someone has to make sure you don’t hurt Sky and Twilight.”
“Sky?” She furrows her brow.
“We’re all named Link.” Twilight flushes a bit by the absurdity of it. “So we all have nicknames. We call him Hyrule.”
She deadpans. “Real creative.”
The boy in question blushes a bit and ruffles his own hair. “They also call me The Traveler. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
She winces. “Again. I’m so sorry you got pulled into this. The fairy…I’m shocked she didn’t say anything. I would have thought she would have been able to sense the spell… and the double for sure would have been able to… I need to talk to them. Both of them.”
Twilight shivers at the deadly intention in her voice.
Hyrule coughs a bit. “Am I free to explore?”
She turns and stares him down as well, not too dissimilar to how she looked at Twilight earlier. She holds her breath enough to make them both nervous before she sighs like a tired parent. “Sure. Why not?”

A Case of Ladybug Luck: Chapter 3
Hello there everyone, and welcome back to Hell! Listen, I've used up most of the good intro analogies in the actual fic, so that's all I got. But hey, I'm back with chapter 3 of ACOLL! Mind you we have 26 of these as of right now, so my blog has catching up to do! Anyway, I figured I'll give you guys the link for each one of these and a snippet, as before! Again, if anybody wants to ask questions/chat, comments and anon asks are always open!
As always, snippet is below the cutoff!
It was well past midnight, and Shadowmoth stood in his lair, waiting. Barely any moonlight lit up his lair, but he did not mind. The mood was quite perfect for the emotions he could feel. Yes! He’d known the opportunity would arise again! He was sure!
“Ahh…a soul broken beyond repair by betrayal and deception! A shattered friendship and a heart in torment! Fly away my little Akuma, and evilize Marinette Dupain Cheng! Let us give Princess Justice the justice she so craves!”
His insane laugher echoed through the lair, but not a sound escape into the outside world. Here, he was alone. Here, he was powerful. Here, he was a king! And soon, so very soon, his dear Emilie would be joining him! At long last!
He could sense Nooroo in the back of his head. Always preaching caution, warning, advising him to stop, just for a day. Duusu was faintly present also, but she was barely a whisper. He ignored them. The Kwami had never wanted him to use their powers, but even if it had been an evil cause he was working towards, what consequence could that possible have on him?
He’d taken the legal precautions, he almost never left his lair, his home. Ladybug and Chat Noir would never find him. The Grimoire, the two Miraculous were his. What was the consequence? Nothing more than Nooroo’s feeble attempt to protect himself, as if it would ever make a difference! As if! Nothing would stop him! Nothing could stop him! He was Hawkmoth, he was the scourge of Paris! He was… he was…
Who was he?
What was he?
What was happening to him?
Shadowmoth shook his head, sharply turning to the skyline. No matter. The Akuma edged ever closer; he could see it! Through the butterfly’s senses, he felt the world around him. Rain pouring down from the sky, slamming against his wings. Desperation, worry and despair from two souls who ran amok in the dead of night, searching. Pain. Heartbreaking, endless pain from his target.
There she is…
A vivid image entered his mind. Princess Justice, wet to the bone, standing on the railing of a bridge, the waters below bashing against the stone and nearly escaping to the streets. The turned suddenly, and looking directly at the Akuma. At him.
He heard her scream in fear, or maybe he felt her panic spike. The others were drawing closer. It was not or never. Thoughts were running through her head endlessly, creating a myriad of wonderful negativity that he would use to destroy Ladybug and Chat Noir!
Lila, she’s laughing at me. She- she’s won.
A-Adrien, I’m sorry!
Mama…
Papa…
Goodbye.
He saw her form begin to lean over, he heard the sound of shattered glass, he sensed her despair. His connection with the Akuma snapped. He couldn’t feel Princess Justice anymore. Ladybug wasn’t there. She couldn’t have reached the butterfly. Impossible. Then-
Then Princess Justice was dead.
Princess Justice was dead.
Dead.
Shadowmoth’s transformation fell, his mind too exhausted to keep up. Gabriel tried to lean on a cane that wasn’t there, and fell to his knees. The last thing he had felt…was fear. Absolute existential terror, at the mere idea that he would get to her. That he would make her fight her loved ones. That he would make her hurt them. He’d seen her jump.
He just killed someone.

Watched Skinamarink last night; still obsessed with it. From the first moment, I thought: yes, this. Yes, this. The darkness; the inchoate; the film grain; the cartoons; the unending terror.
I often find the sound of old cartoons and old movies eerie if I’m alone or in a dark house. That’s because filmmakers have been leaning on public domain recording to create atmosphere for a long time, although they rarely use it as consciously as in this movie. The public domain cartoons included “Balloonyland,” which had a cameo in Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders, where it was part of a Stephen King knockoff story about an evil toy monkey. That was what they called a “movie loaf.” To be fair, the evil toy monkey segment could be genuinely upsetting, although that’s not quite the same as good horror. But it was house horror, or whatever people are deciding to call this new genre that Skinamarink is part of.
I think you could also put “Talky Tina” from The Twilight Zone in that box. Maybe even “It’s a Good Life,” although I don’t know. It’s a horror that’s got extremely tight boundaries, maybe in one building but definitely in one community. It also has influences from creepypasta and analog horror, two new genres, that put it outside the traditional realm of the haunted-house movie, the Gothic, and domestic noir.
I don’t think there was any secret solution, any twist or backstory that we were supposed to divine. Now that I’ve read more about it, I think it is a longform nightmare, just as the director has been making in shorts. But there is one sliver of explanation that occurred to me as I was watching it. Not that it’s my singular idea; others seem to have had it also.
The entity seemed as if it was itself a child: the house was its dollhouse. It wanted to play. When you were little, what did you do when your play area wasn’t what you wanted it to be? You fixed it up. You moved things around. You created a new space to be the room and the house. No ritual—you just took things away or put them in, as it occurred to you. If a toy didn’t do what you wanted it to do, you might yank it around, fool with it some—its eyes, its mouth—then throw it aside. You were sadistic, maybe, but also possessive: these were your things. You protected them. You kept them. And they stayed where they were for years and years—maybe even after you grew up and forgot about them.

Okay everything about a Wingfeather Saga/Phineas and Ferb crossover would be hilarious. And by Wingfeather Saga I mean Wingfeather Falls because it’s even funnier.
Idk even where to start. The Wingfeather kiddos walk through a portal into Phineas and Ferb’s backyard and end up helping with whatever they’re building. Kalmar is in his element with the chaos. Janner is trying desperately to keep track of Perry so he can sketch whatever this new creature is. Leeli’s just chilling, probably hanging out with the Fireside girls and staring at Candace in concern.
Across town Artham and Fiddleford end up at Doofenshmirtz’s evil inc. where Artham discovers that Fidds and Doof know each other because Fiddleford accidentally hacked into an evil villain meeting skype call once and they just... let him keep doing it because I mean he does build giant robots that terrorize a town, has a tragic backstory and an evil laugh so I mean he’s basically one of them, he’s causing chaos it counts. Artham’s just pleased to know that Fiddleford talked to people back in the day.
Perry shows up and Artham and Fidds just fly up into the rafters to watch whatever’s going on. Artham mentions that Janner would love to see a platypus and then when the fight starts he’s like “ah. so this is how Ollister Pembrick did it”
99.9% sure Kalmar has convinced Phineas and Ferb to help him build Shacktron 2.0 which he has always wanted to do ever since Dipper showed him the picture but he never had a house he could do it with. Phineas and Ferb are more than happy to turn their house into a giant robot to help this kid fulfill his dreams. Janner’s questioning Candace over why she keeps trying to bust her brothers and when it basically just comes down to it being a compulsion for her he’s like “wow okay I mean if it was safety I’d get it but, jeeze, Kalmar thinks I’m against fun but you my friend are on another level.” Leeli is composing the episode’s musical number and then promptly directing/performing in it.
Artham flies down in the middle of Perry and Doof’s daily smackdown to give hand-to-hand combat tips. They stop and listen to him and Perry starts taking notes. Artham tells Perry to attack him to demonstrate something and Perry doesn’t land a hit once. No one’s sure why Artham’s good at defending himself from animals except Fiddleford who’s cackling up in the rafters with the knowledge that Artham lived in his world’s most deadly forests for 7ish years.
Cue giant robot walking through town with a gang of kids in it including one overexcited young king. Artham and Fiddleford get to see it right before Doof’s invention inevitably destroys/cancels it out somehow. Kal is very disappointed that he didn’t get to show his uncles this wacky invention but is thrilled when they find out they saw it anyway.
rest is under the cut because this got long
PART TWO is somehow so much more unhinged. It’s literally just Artham deciding to bring his niece and nephews along with him and Fiddleford to visit Doofenshmirtz and absolute chaos descending. Kalmar won’t stop running around pushing buttons and inadvertently setting off lasers and traps which never hit him or any of the kids. Janner is wondering how concerned he should be about safety. Doof is running around trying to stop Kalmar and probably the only one getting hit by lasers and traps. Vanessa is there and so Leeli goes over to chat with her and sees her listening to music and explains her whistleharp, “I once held back an army with this!” “an army?” “yeah! during the siege of Ban Rona. also I can summon dogs with it.” “.... what.” “I can summon dogs!” “what kind of dogs?” “all dogs! do you wanna see?” “...yes”
Leeli and Vanessa go out on the balcony and Leeli starts alternating between playing her whistleharp and dogspeak and soon every dog in the tri-state area is there. This sets off Phineas and Ferb’s adventure of the day when Isabella comes and tells them her dog is missing. At first they try and build a dog summoning device but Leeli keeps also summoning the dogs so I’m just imagining a Bohemian Rhapsody song sequence going “galileo GALILEO galileo GALILEO FIGARO MAGNIFICOOOOOOOOOO” “oh let me gooooooo NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!” that part where the dogs are turning back and forth in a street obviously torn between directions. Phineas and Ferb give up because it’s obviously not working and go to plan B which is follow the sounds the dogs are hearing and see where it leads.
Meanwhile Perry has shown up because there are lasers going off everywhere and all the dogs have been pied-pipered there. He just lands on the balcony next to the girls and stares wide eyed at the chaos. Leeli looks at him like, “ooooh look, I summoned a platypus too!” “oh that’s just Perry, he’s my dad’s nemesis.” “hi Perry! you should go find my brother Janner he’ll love that.”
I think Artham and Fiddleford are just sitting off to the side observing the chaos. Artham is cheerfully petting dogs. Fiddleford is fixing all the inators as they break just for funsies. At least sixteen things are on fire. Janner has discovered Perry’s here and is happily sketching him again, with a hat this time and the clarification “platypus (secret agent)”. Doofenshmirtz is still in the background trying and failing to catch Kalmar who is having the time of his life.
There is a knock on the door and it is the boys and Isabella. Leeli answered and when they ask about Isabella’s dog she happily summons it with dogspeak. This is also when they go “oh there you are Perry” and he’s just chilling in a sea of dogs for no reason.
PART THREE is just Perry’s secret agency freaking out about how Leeli can straight up summon dogs and talking about how great that would be for them if they could get her to work for them so Perry has to find her. Luckily Leeli and her brothers are visiting again so he gets her and brings her down to his secret hideout. What follows is Major Monogram trying to convince this 10-11 year old to join a secret agency to train dogs and Leeli just like “you had me at ‘train dogs’” but then being the granddaughter of a pirate kicks in and she’s like “what’s in it for me?” and while Monogram and Carl try (and fail) to figure out what preteen girls like, Leeli mentally puts together a list of demands.
“Okay, first, I want a hat like Perry’s.” “Done.” “Second I want to go with Perry on one of his missions so I can ask Dr. Doofenshmirtz for one of his inventions and take it home for Kalmar.” “... W H Y.” “because he didn’t get to ask last time! he was too excited and hyped up on sugar!” “.... alright, fine.” *Leeli squees*
What follows is just a montage of Leeli training dogs while wearing a little secret agent hat. Then Perry has to chaperone her on one of his missions (he tries to open the door for her but Leeli’s like “I got it” and bangs it down with her crutch “they don’t call me lizardkicker and batwhacker for nothing!” Perry has no idea what that means but he’s a little afraid of her now).
Leeli walks in somehow avoiding any traps but Perry doesn’t even though he directly follows her, and she just trots up to Doof like, “Hi Dr. Doofenshmirtz Perry brought me here so I could ask if I could get one of your inventions for Kalmar.” and Doof’s just staring at her like “why are you using a little girl to confuse me Perry the platypus” Leeli looks back and forth between them a couple times and then is like, “oh right you have to do your fighting thing, okay, go ahead I’ll wait.” and sits politely off to the side waiting for them to have their daily confrontation. And they’re both just like “.....”
They stare at her for long enough that she’s just like, “well okay Perry if you won’t stop him I guess I will” and just. whacks Doofenshmirtz with her crutch. he starts yelling at her like “oh that’s no fair, what am I supposed to do, beat up a little girl?!”
And Leeli, who has recently read The Hobbit, continues whacking him while yelling, “I’m not a little girl! I am the lizardkicker of Glipwood, batwhacker of Ban Rona! I am the Song Maiden of the Shining Isle of Anniera and granddaughter of Podo Helmer! And now I’m a secret agent!”
She then manages to whack his inator in just the right spot so that it collapses into a pile of rubble and then looks up at him all wide-eyed innocence like, “okay can I have something for Kalmar now? :)” and he’s like “.... okay sure, why not.”
Perry’s just projecting this back to HQ with his watch and they’re like “:O”
It ends with Leeli loading up whatever contraption she’s acquired for her brother onto a wagon pulled by dogs while she declines the agency’s offer of a full time job with a winning smile “sorry, I’m already the Song Maiden, defender of the Shining Isle, and a little kid. My schedule’s full.” and she heads cheerfully through a portal with her brothers, dogs and wagon in tow.

Back Cover Blurb:
ASSISTANT WANTED: Notorious, high-ranking villain seeks loyal, levelheaded assistant for unspecific office duties, supporting staff for random mayhem and terror, and other Dark Things In General. Discretion a must. Excellent benefits
With ailing family to support, Evie Sage's employment status isn't just important, it's vital. So when a mishap with Rennedawn's most infamous Villain results in a job offer -- naturally, she says yes. No job is perfect, of course, but even less so when you develop a teeny crush on your terrifying, temperamental, and undeniably hot boss. Don't find evil so attractive, Evie.
But just when she's getting used to severed heads suspended from the ceiling and the odd squish of an errant eyeball beneath her heel, Evie suspects this dungeon has a huge rat.. and not just the literal kind. Because something rotten is growing in the kingdom of Rennedawn, and someone wants to take the Villain -- and his entire nefarious empire -- out.
Now Evie must not only resist drooling over her boss but also figure out exactly who is sabotaging his work.. and ensure he makes them pay.
After all, a good job is hard to find.
Review and Rate:
Honestly, I had a hard time putting this down. Evie's unwavering optimism in the face of multiple horrible encounters made me, (and the Villain) fall in love with her. The book follows Evie as she quiet literally stumbles upon the villain and worms her way into his employment, (and heart). She is always armed with a smile and her wit, which seems to endear her to all others around, even if they say they hate her. Cough cough Becky.
Evie has her fair share of challenges in this book, some easier to overcome than others, but she never allows anything to disarm her smile. It would be easy to say that I loved this book and leave it at that but truly, I loved it. Multiple times I caught myself laughing out loud at some of Evie's inner most thoughts, and outer ones too. It's easy to understand where she is coming from, her boss is hot, so what if he's evil to boot? (Unless you're like me and him being evil is way more of a plus than a negative.)
Personally I tend to predict the ending of a book before I get there, which always leaves me wanting more from the book. Something shocking or at the very least interesting. The ending of this book had me angry. I was, and still am as I type this, so angry for the characters because they deserve better. Which is how I know you will be too. While most the tone of the book is very light and funny, some of the topics that it broached are not. (I mean come on he literally murders people, duh.) That being said, there is an implication of attempted (but not successful) sexual assault, which might be upsetting to some readers. While it is not a main point of the book it is mentioned a few times, and I wish for everyone to be safe in their readings. While I would hate to dissuade anyone from reading this book, because it is truly a funny and wonderful book, please stay safe.
Now back to the fun stuff. Did I mention this is a slow burn? Because the burn is deliciously slow. Every interaction between the two main characters had me giggling and kicking my feet because they are both so stupid and in love and I wanted to scream. And the side characters? I love them. Well I love to hate some of them, Becky, and love to love others. Each of the side characters have depth to them, some back stories we still don’t know, and I cannot wait for the second installment of this book. All in all I think if you’re a fan of Romatasy, read this book. And while this might be a plus for some and a negative for others, it does not include smut. While there are cussing parts in the dialogue I’m not really sure what qualifies as a “clean” book nowadays I think this one is.
I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars because it’s funny, the characters are lovable, and it gives amazing “touch her and die” vibes.
Favorite Quote: (ps it’s kinda a spoiler so ignore it if you want????)
He was a good kisser, but of course he was. Attractive murderers were always good kissers; she was pretty sure she heard that expression before. Or maybe she made it up in one of the many daydreams in which she’d imagined that happening.
Don’t daydream about kissing your boss, Evie!

Keith Howell. Chapter 4 + Normal Story.
The question about the brother brought a wistful look to Keith's eyes. The prince says he is a bad brother.
Keith: I have a sister.
MC notices that she then understands why the prince knows how to get along with children.
She timidly wonders if he has a good relationship with his sister.
The relationship isn't bad, though the last time they saw each other his little sister said his eyes were still moist.
(Prince Keith's younger sister seems to have a resilient personality, as does the prince himself at times.)
Tumblr media
Keith: My mother died just after my sister was born.
He and his sister didn't see each other for a long time. It would be awful if people thought they were getting along.
Keith: She's a very sweet girl because she can still talk to her "failure" brother. Really.
MC would like to meet his sister.
Keith: Thank you. I'm glad.
Keith: She has an incredible weakness for spontaneity/honesty, the kind Ms. MC has, so if she met you, she'd probably be with you any time of day.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
They walked out of the bookstore.
Toward the end of the tour, Keith praises MC.
She thinks about how she will thank Rio for telling her where to go with Keith so she won't be recognized.
Several men carrying bags rushed her somewhere and pushed the woman. She almost fell, but Keith caught her.
The prince, making sure she was all right, ran after the men.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Hereafter, Mean/Alter Keith acts.
Alleyway.
Keith stands with his back to the girl, and the battered men lie beside him.
She timidly called out to the prince. He turned around.
(Who was this man with eyes as sharp as a beast's and cold enough to freeze my heart?)
It was a completely different man.
Keith: Don't be so afraid.
Her skin hardened with terror. The girl let out a shriek as Keith's hand gripped her.
Tumblr media
Keith: That's a reaction that makes me want to torment you, doesn't it?
But another man showed up behind the girl. Keith yanked her toward him, hiding her. The earlier men raised their daggers. The prince didn't falter, kicking his opponent in the stomach and throwing him into a pile of wooden crates.
MC is frightened, but thanks Keith.
His eyes, which stare at her, are still cold. And his thoughts are hard to read.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Keith: Are you hurt?
MC: No... I'm fine.
Keith: Yeah...Okay.
She's all right.
The prince lost interest in her. He opened the sack the men were carrying.
In them lay the plants that had been stolen from the apothecaries.
Keith: Plants look the same to me, obviously, your "interest" was just as real.
1. I thought we were together, right?
2. Did you believe me?
3. Of course! ✔
MC: Of course! You will teach me, won't you?
Keith: Yes, of course.
Tumblr media
Keith: .....But "this guy."
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
The heroine doesn't understand, but Keith is already talking about something else.
The theft of a valuable plant could happen again.
Keith: This plant is often used as a remedy for headaches and neuralgia, but in large doses it can also be a dangerous medicine.
Poison...
The girl wondered, and the prince tickled her earlobe.
Keith: It is a drug that is popular among the evil nobility.
It can be addictive and make you want to buy the drug over and over again.
And how did Keith know there was weed in the bags?
By the smell.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Keith walked over to her and the tip of his nose touched her neck. He likes the way she smells.
Tumblr media
Keith: That sweet smell is more addictive than dangerous medicine.
MC: P-Please don't tease me.
Keith: I'm not teasing.
MC is embarrassed and blushing again.
Footsteps are heard in the distance... Keith moves away from her.
A large hand blocks her view.
He says something to her, but the wind prevents her from hearing it.
_______See you.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Hereafter, Gentle Keith acts.
Keith removed his hand.
He's back to his old self. He's afraid he's done something to hurt MC.
Keith: I must have surprised and frightened you.
Keith: That's why I wanted to apologize properly... I'm sorry.
MC reflects on the fact that he has nothing to apologize for. He saved her and beat the thieves. But why such a discrepancy between his actions and his words?
MC: You're all right, Lord Keith.
Keith: Me?
MC: You look like you're going to cry at any moment.
MC: Your hands are so cold I can feel them through my gloves, and I'm worried.
A new batch of apologies from Keith. For everything and for holding her hand.
But no, the heroine herself apologizes for holding Keith's hand. It was impertinent.
Keith: No way!
He's happy to meet a rare plant species.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
The girl is happy to hear the prince's words...
Suddenly Leon interrupted them. He brought his knights with him.
Keith: Prince L-Leon. Perhaps you are pursuing a thief here?
Leon confirmed this. And thanked Keith for his help in catching the thief.
Keith: I just happened to stumble across this.
Tumblr media
Keith: Besides... "I" didn't do anything.
Leon didn't understand anything.
While the princes talked about stealing and how to prevent it, MC wondered what Keith's "face" really was. With a cold stare or a gentle look?
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Castle.
Rio treats the girl to tea. She tells him the news. During the excursion, MC lost her hairpin.
Rio is in charge of Silvio's entertainment.
Why wasn't this scene shown? 🤣👆🏽
But Rio is alive, which means it went well.
MC is worried about her friend, and if he needs help, she will provide it.
Rio: MC... How hard are you trying to make me fall in love with you? I love you so much it makes me want to cry.
Also, Rio reports that Keith has gone somewhere and isn't coming back.

Normal Story
MC wanted to find Keith. She remembered her hairpin and the prince's distressed face.
She hesitated, but who knows?
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Night City.
Bending his large body, Keith searches in the semi-darkness for an hairspin.
MC runs to it. She tells him that she felt he would be here.
It turns out that he has already passed a large area, and it was hardly quick.
He started, probably, in the afternoon, and it's already getting dark outside.
So why was Keith taking so long to find this jewelry? The girl again questioned his motives. However...
Tumblr media
Keith: Ms. MC, because it suited you.
Because of him, she lost her jewel.
Keith: It would be reckless to search alone, but I can't leave it to someone else, and I don't want to ....because it brings some satisfaction, too.
Keith: Ahaha, but that's not good. You found me before I found the hairpin.
Keith: ....Really, I'm hopeless.
MC ponders that Keith is a prince, and could have sent servants. But he won't do it because he doesn't want to bother people.
(Lord Keith's kindness has no bottom.)
Keith sends her home to keep her warm.
MC refuses to go home. Keith insists, looking for jewelry is his whim.
Well, the prince offers to ride home together.
MC: After returning to the castle, are you thinking of going to town alone again?
Keith:..... I'm not thinking about it.
After that, they look at each other. Keith gives up first.
Tumblr media
Keith: You are surprisingly mean. I have no choice but to fold.
He offers to look for the ornament together.
As the lights go out in the houses one by one, they strain their eyes and look for her hairpin.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Keith finds the hairpin after all. MC happily thanks him.
Tumblr media
Keith: Come here, thanks for looking with me.
But Keith hurriedly takes off his gloves and starts warming MC's frozen hands.
Keith: It's cold. Let's get in the carriage faster.
He also wanted to borrow his cloak. But MC refuses. Keith rejects her refusal and throws the cloak over her shoulders.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
In the Carriage.
MC: Why are you running away from me, Lord Keith?
MC: Don't you want to warm up with me?
Keith: I don't mind, but I need to get ready.
MC: Prince Keith's mental preparation is like buying time.
Keith was distracted. And the girl threw her cloak over him.
Tumblr media
Keith: You... surprisingly not backing down.
The carriage is tossed around on a rock. MC is in Keith's arms, but he immediately lets her go.
An apology from the prince for bringing her home so late.
MC asks Keith not to apologize, it used to be a regular hairpin for her, but now this piece of jewelry will be a reminder of Keith.
Keith is stunned by her kindness.
He stiffened. Then looked at her strangely.
He says she is more honest and pure than he thought.

Okay, but hear me out. Crowley denies himself enjoyment because he doesn’t feel like he deserves it. More than that, it doesn’t even occur to him to seek it out because he fell and being fallen means life is shit and you don’t get good things. For almost forever, any good thing came with a big caveat: job satisfaction was nice but he was going evil, drinking copious amounts of alcohol was nice but he was drinking copious amounts of alcohol, he liked his plants but he was terrorizing them and I don’t think he actually liked that bit. Any tiny sliver of contentment comes with inordinate risk and cost, not to himself because I don’t think he gives two shits about himself, but to Aziraphale which is a non-negotiable.
For all his bluster, he doesn’t think he deserves anything other than the very least and littlest things and he only deserves those because he needs them. And I think he’s a bit shocked that he needs Aziraphale to such an extent that he actually does have him. Not in the correct, full, right, meaningly way. But in the ‘oh, there he is, still in the bookshop, willing to put up with me hanging around’ type way. And this has been the status quo for the years since the world didn’t end. Of course, Crowley didn’t ask for more than what he needed – like hey, let’s move in and have proper conversations, perhaps laugh together more than once every few months, and also snuggle and hold hands and also, maybe, much, much more. If he stops and thinks about it he would probably be able to comprehend that he does want those things, but he doesn’t need them or deserve them so he won’t get them.
(Aziraphale, on the other hand, I think is actually just clueless. He has this very stuck way of seeing things as they are and it has not occurred to him that he could change them and be happier. Actually, untangling Aziraphale might be harder for me and less rewarding… but yes, I think until Crowley spells a potential out to him, he doesn’t see potentials just the static state of the universe around him and it’s within his nature to be very happy with that and take his enjoyment where he can find it. Actually, that makes perfect sense now that I’m typing it because of the potential to enjoy some delicious meat was always there and it took Crowley spelling it out to get him to try and then the state of his universe changed (yum I like delicious thing) and he existed with the potential realized. (Yes, yes, I see you all with the parallels with the need for a good snog and other pleasures of the flesh theorizing and I like it.))
Anyway, Crowley’s existence isn’t good or nice, but it’s enough because it has to be, and actually, he’s amazed he’s getting this much. I bet he feels guilty when he wonders ‘what’s the point’ because he’s got this constant war of his life being doom and gloom and unlucky (he fell) and also, actually, very lucky (he got this angel, someone and something he doesn’t deserve, popping in and out of his life for the last six thousand years). All I’m saying is getting Crowley into a space to experience pleasure and contentment in things isn’t that tricky because we see glimpses of it, but getting him into a space to take pleasure, to seek out an improved existence, is very much at odds with who he is. I haven’t decided if I think he got there in episode 6, he clearly got very close before it all went up in flames (he won’t be doing that again anytime soon). Same as whether Aziraphale actually saw the potential and was ready to shift his reality to accommodate it (before Metadick painted him a more convincing? important? realistic? potential and diverted him. Either way it doesn’t matter because both their deficiencies are consequences of underlying trauma and their utter inability to talk to each other properly, but both of which need to be dealt with before they can start fully taking pleasure in each other. And that will take a lot.

“There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror...” —1 John 4:18 (AMPC)
“Fear Not!” By Joyce Meyer:
“Wouldn’t everything in life be better if we didn’t have to deal with fear? Of course, there are healthy fears that alert us to danger—and these are good because they protect us. There is also the fear of God, which means to have a holy, reverential awe and respect for Him. But there is a debilitating fear that Satan tries to put on us every day that is intended to keep us from having the power, love, and sound mind that God wants us to have.
If you have ever struggled as I once did with anxiety, you are familiar with the worry, stress, and feeling of heaviness that comes with it. Many people struggle with fear that has no obvious cause or source. They wonder why they are always afraid and can’t change, no matter how hard they try. Others spend every minute worrying about what might happen. “What if…” is their favorite phrase. “What if I can’t pay the bills?” “What if my child gets hurt?” “What if my husband loses his job?” The endless list of possible tragedies keeps these unfortunate people bound up and miserable every day of their lives.
There are many serious things going on in the world, and we need to be aware of them and prepare for them. But we also need to learn to resist fear when it rises up against us. The Word tells us, God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 AMPC).
Sometimes we think of fear as an emotion, but we need to realize that fear is actually a spirit. In fact, I believe fear is one of Satan’s favorite tools, and he particularly loves to torment Christians with it. At every possible opportunity, he will whisper in your ear, telling you that God has forgotten you and there is no hope. It makes sense that Satan would try to intimidate us with fear.
But Jesus said, All things can be (are possible) to him who believes! (Mark 9:23 AMPC). We have to believe that there is nothing worse for the enemy than an on-fire, Bible-believing Christian who is fearless! God didn’t promise us that life would be easy. We all will face problems and challenges. But the outcome depends on whether we trust God—or give in to fear.
Psalm 23:4 (AMPC) says, Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me. The psalmist David said he walked through the valley.
When we fear or become afraid, we can be sure that’s not God at work, but one of the sly tricks of our spiritual enemy. If he can make us think that God hates us or wants to punish us, we’ll allow those thoughts to fill our minds, and we’ll start losing the battle.
God is love. We can never say those words enough. The only thing we can add is: and God loves me. Fear is a spirit that must be confronted head on—it will not leave on its own. We must proclaim the Word of God and command fear to leave. So the next time fear knocks on your door, send faith to answer!
Prayer of the Day: Lord Jesus, when I read Your Word, I find assurances of Your love for me. There are times, however, when I feel unworthy of Your love, but You never loved me because I’m worthy; You loved me because You are love. In Your name I pray, Lord Jesus, thanking You for Your reassurance that I am truly loved by You, and that therefore I have no reason to fear, amen.”
