You tried to stand up but Yelan quickly put you back to your bed, "Shh stay in bed my love, also apologies if i come home late... Just some unexpected events happened lately" You shook your head and weakly drag her to you bed and cling into her "I'm so cold here yknow that.." you whispered while she pulled you into a right hug "How about i make it up to you tomorrow?" Like Yelan, Ayato is a busy man but also prioritize your health more than his work

"Ayato are you sure im not a bother?" You asked while holding a tea and took a small sips. Ayato only smiles at you and answered "Of course not, I dont mind leaving my work to take care of you, your health is more important sweetheart" you start to think you didn't deserve such a gentleman like Ayato but no matter what you knew his words are true; and he's proving it to you right now

Genshin Girls When They’re Late to a Date! Modern AU

Genre: Angst, Eventual fluff

Reader: Gender Neutral

Characters: Beidou, Yelan, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Ei

Beidou-

It’s raining. Your girlfriend is late. You wonder if she even forgot your anniversary. You’re sitting at the, now wet, picnic spot that you picked hoping to watch the sunset while eating the delicious home-made sandwiches you made for her. You hoped you guys would reminisce about past time while watching the warm sky finally turn blue. This was supposed to be a romantic outing, but instead you’re by your lonesome with no Beidou in sight.

You guys have been together for a while now, and Beidou has been so attentive of your every need, making sure you’re always comfortable, safe, and warm with her around. And what’s worse? The fact that she’s sent all your calls to voicemail and hasn’t answered your texts, or that she’s smiling… climbing the hill you’re sat on and bringing a hugeee umbrella to cover you, her, and the food.

“Hey love,” she calls out quietly. You remain silent as she places the umbrella down to protect you and the already soggy food from the rain. She doesn’t sit down yet, waiting for your permission.

“Won’t even look at me, huh?” She sighs, kneeling and looking in your direction. The soft rain outlining her figure.

You sigh, “Please make yourself at home, don’t want you to get a cold.” You say with an eye roll as you’re basically an ice cube away from turning into a snowman.

She chuckles a bit as you scoot over to make space for her. She grabs your hand and gives it a rub, trying to warm you up. You let her. This is her apologizing for her being late. You can tell she feels too bad to even mention an excuse as to why she’s late right now, but you ask anyway. “Why did you come so late? The suns already gone and the sandwiches are pretty much ruined…” You speak barley even audible, but Beidou catches it. She catches everything you say.

“Well… did you eat all the sandwiches or are they all actually soggy?” She reaches for the picnic basket, imagining the wooden protective cover would keep the sandwich’s dry, plus you put them in a zip log.

You slap her hand quickly before she can uncover the basket. “Well maybe I wouldn’t have eaten all of them if you came on time!” You huff angrily, finally looking her in the eyes to see her already looking at you, with her signature hearty smile. She watches your face soften at the sight of her.

“Oh there’s those sweet eyes,” she rubs a hand over your cheek. Practically holding you captive. You can’t refuse. “Why don’t we just make this a stargazing night instead, hmm? Would you like that?” Once you nod, she pushes you down the wet blanket you laid out, cupping your face as she starts to kiss you softly.

If only you weren’t so weak in the knees for her…

P.S. You eventually found out she was late cause she saw the weather forecast ahead of time (unlike you) and left half way in the drive to the picnic spot so she could grab a huge umbrella to keep you warm. She was actually really angry at herself she couldn’t beat the rain.

Yelan-

You’re scared. It’s dark out. The restaurant is closing and your ride, your girlfriend may I add, is no where to be seen. The dangers of waiting in the street in this city is just a fiasco already in motion.

And your girlfriend knows this, hence why she’s practically never late to anything. Yelan is always looking out for any possible danger like a hawk (she can be a little over protective sometimes). But it’s been maybe about two hours since your original meeting time? You wouldn’t know because your phone is dead… You have no idea where she is, and the restaurant staff is waiting on you so they can leave.

You sheepishly apologize to the waitress closing up as you exit the fancy restaurant that Yelan reserved. ‘Where the hell is she??’ You ponder. But just as you exit out the restaurant, you see the familiar expensive black car pull up.

Yelan doesn’t roll down the window, no, she jumps out the car and runs toward you. She frantically grabs your shoulders and starts shaking you. “Are you okay?? Why weren’t you home? Did something happen? I had to track you through your phone, gosh I was worried sick.” She starts to speak really fast while she gives you a quick look around to confirm to herself that you are alive.

Once she reassured herself that you’re okay, she noticed how fancy you’re dressed and looks up to the name of the restaurant, finally remembering this was the day she invited you out to eat. “Oh… oh baby I’m so sorry.” A look a guilt fills her face as she frowns.

“Did you forget?” You chime. The disappointment still lingers, but whatever anger you felt, dissipated from the look of panic on her face. She nods, resting her head on your shoulder as you rub her back. “It’s okay, it happens to the best of us.” She stiffens at your words. She looks back to make eye contact with you and your soft sympathizing smile melts her heart. How could she ever keep someone as sweet as you waiting?

Yelan takes another look at you. Letting the sight in front of her really sink in. “You dressed this nice for me?” She smirks and you heat up.

You always shy away when she gives you that look. “I just wanted today to be special and then to look special… for you.” Yelan’s heart probably skipped a beat at that.

“Then let me make it up to you.” She opens the passenger seat and holds a hand out for you. Nothing but determination set on her face as you accept the familiar warmth of her hand and climb in.

P.S. I bet she ended up taking you to Mcdonalds cause basically nothing is open late anymore (Thanks a lot COVID)

Kokomi-

You’re worried. The crowd of the movie theatre starts to disperse and there’s still no sign of Kokomi anywhere. It’s maybe about an hour after your meeting time and the movie is already halfway done probably. You decide to venture out the cinema to the busy street, sun hitting your eyes as it’s still bright out.

But this sunny atmosphere doesn’t help the fact that you’re worried sick, not for yourself but Kokomi. She actually planned this date and she isn’t picking up her phone. ‘God what if something happened to her.’ You’d never forgive yourself if something did. You made a promise to yourself to always protect her.

You knew Kokomi had a habit of over exhausting herself; that she tends to sorta just crash afterwards and needs time to recharge. This weekend was supposed to be a celebration for completing finals week, but maybe the cramming got to her.

After wandering around the city for a bit, occasionally calling out your lover’s name, you decide to head to her dorm. Luckily it’s not far away. It’s a 10 minute walk, but you make it five as you’re in a hurry to make sure she’s okay.

While rushing a flash of pink strides past you as it takes you a second to look back at the familiar backside of your girlfriend.

“Kokomi! Wait up!” You immediately dash as she turns around at the sound of her name. She pauses. The look of panic of her face turns into a scrunched up one as she starts to cry at the sight of you. There’s eye bags under her eyes, her hairs a mess, and she’s still in pajamas. She still looks like the princess she is though, but you can tell she was rushing to meet you.

She runs over to you and frantically exclaims, “I’m so sorry, I slept through my alarm and set so many to make it on time cause I really wanted to watch this with you but I didn’t hear the ring. You’ve been looking forward to movie weekend for so long cause of finals and so have I cause I needed to see you. But I’ve been so tired from all these all nighters and-“

“Kokomi calm down, it’s okay. You’re okay and that’s all that matters.” You grab her and give her a hug, trying to sooth her down as she bawls in your arms. “It’s okay, everything is okay now.” You rub her back as she eventually pulls herself together.

“Ugh sorry you had to see me like that. I look like a mess right now.” She looks at her feet and tugs at the shirt she’s wearing that has different toothpaste stains.

“Oh my god, don’t be ridiculous Koko.” She flushes at the sound of her nickname as you comfort her. “Even if you were covered in mud or fell into a trash can, you’d still be the prettiest girl in the world.” She blushes even more at your words and gives you another hug.

“I really missed you this week.” She says, hugging you even tighter.

“I know, so did I. Why don’t we just do movie night at your place?” You pat her head as she nods. You guys hold hands on the way back as Kokomi eventually returns to her passionate self in your presence.

P.S. She forgot her phone as she rushed out to get you.

Ei-

Your girlfriend doesn’t leave the house often. She’s really busy and tends to be a homebody anyway, so this weekend you wanted to take a road trip to the nearby beach and finally enjoy some sunlight with her. Don’t get me wrong, staying home with Ei makes for a passionate and cozy atmosphere, but you wanted more of a romantic environment sometimes.

Hence why you’re here, voice mailing Ei wondering if she’s still at the beach hotel. You guys would’ve walked to the beach together if it weren’t for the fact that Ei still has some work to finish up and told you that’d she’d meet you there soon.

At first you were having fun, playing in the water and sand, but it’s been a good hour since Ei said she’d be coming. Now, an hour might not seem too long on the beach given there’s a lot to do, but Ei said she’d be coming out soon. And while Ei isn’t very good with time management (she’s a perfectionist who takes the lasting seconds to perfect her work) she promised you that this weekend was just going to be you, her, and the big blue sea.

You sit on the sand, wet from the sea but not cold with the sun’s glare. You watch the waves go back and forth. The wishy-washy sea oddly reminds you of your relationship. There’s those times where it feels like the perfect relationship in the world, but then its goes back to times like these. You don’t like being mad at Ei, she has her reasons of course, but you just want to be the priority sometimes.

You get lulled out of your thoughts at the sound of your name. “Y/N! There you are, I’ve been looking for you. Are you ready for the beach?” You turn around to see her huffing and puffing from running. But once she sees a gloomy look on your face she asks, “What’s wrong?” She sits down next to you and looks to you for an answer.

“I…,” you sigh. You can’t say it. Ei works hard; not to play hard, but she works hard to provide. She’s paying for this trip and you just can’t bring yourself to complain. “No, sorry it’s nothing-“

“Y/N tell me. I know when something is troubling you.” She cuts you off and gives your hand a squeeze. She looks so attentively at you, searching your eyes for an answer.

“I just wish you’d spend more time with me… you promised it’d be just you and me, but you’ve spent more time with your laptop than me and I just… I just don’t get how I can miss my girlfriend when she’s right next to me.” You poor everything out in the open as a silence lingers in the air. You don’t meet Ei’s eyes, slightly worried she might be angry.

But you’re met with a hug instead. “I’m sorry. I know it doesn’t feel nice to be put second. Work has been hectic lately, but I promise- no enough promises. I am going to be the best for you. You deserve nothing but the best. I’m sorry I kept you waiting, I didn’t realize the time passed by.” She doesn’t let go of the hug. “Please say something.” She burrows her head in your neck.

You wrap your arms around her back and feel her soften up in your arms. “I know you’re trying. You try every day to be your best not just for me, but for yourself too and that’s what I love about you. So it’s okay, I understand. Just can we put work aside this once and focus on each other?” She looks back at you with sparkles in her eyes and holds your hands.

“Really? You don’t want to scrap the whole thing?” She asks, cautious she fucked things up this time.

“No, of course not!” You get up as the look of shock still lingers on her face. “Common the waves are going to get cold soon!” You pull her hand as you get up and run to the waters. Laughter trailing behind you as you meet the waves again with your feet. The waves make you now realize that every relationship has its highs and lows, but the beauty of a relationship is working through those lows.

a/n: i wasn't gonna make one of these again but i thought it would make for nice writing practice. I'll be including the Liyue ladies :D inbox is still open as usual! Ningguang: 7/10, only because if she didn't have to keep up appearances she could totally catch you

given that you both are somewhere decently public, you are falling to the ground

Of course she'd crouch down to check on you to see if your alright

but she'll lean down closer to you, covering her mouth and say

"that was a very dumb thing of you to do. Don't you feel even the slightest bit of shame my love?"

in private she might entertain you with catching you

if it's in her bedroom, then she'd catch you then teasingly toss you on to her bed

Beidou: 10/10, best one honestly and the muscle😩

Captain Beidou is definitely catching you and not putting you down

If she's docked and out walking in the Liyue Harbor, she excepts you to run at her and jump into her arms

it's a tradition at this point

it's also a way for her to show off how strong she is

It would take her a few moments before she starts get a bit red and then she drops you

and then leaves

leaving you confused

She'd catch but in a like teasing way

makes comments about how desperate for her attention you must be and how lucky you are that she caught

squeezes you against her and gives you a closed eyed smile

"Oh how interesting, I must've rolled something good to get you to fall into my arms. If you wanted to get close to me all you had to do was ask."

Now Yelan doesn't put you down, instead she carries you someplace and sits down with you in her lap

You're not leaving her lap

Better yet she has plans to go play poker later and she needs a lucky charm

Genshin impact hcs for every nation pt.2

Liyue edition!

Info: OOC? Mentions of other characters, writing sucks, sorry if I get some lore wrong with some characters! Fyi, none of this is cannon besides the occasional lore mentions

Baizhu: Whenever the cold winters of Liyue roll around, Baizhu has to make sure that both him and Changsheng are cozy because if they don't. They both can fall ill very quickly. Baizhu normally wraps a scarf around his neck so both him and Changsheng are warm due to the fact that Changsheng normally wraps around Baizhu's neck

Beidou: Since Beidou wears an eyepatch, a lot of people have made theories on what's behind it. Is it just a regular eye? Does she have a terrible scar underneath? Is it due to a battle? Who did she fight? Spoiler alert: It's the first one, but she always gets a laugh out of the really crazy ones

Chongyun: Chongyun is secretly really good at checkers. He takes pride in it along with embarrassment since he has no clue how to play chess

Ganyu: Ganyu absolutely loves the quiet and hates loud noises, but there's this one sound that she will forever despise, and that is windchimes. Every time she hears them, she just wants to rip it off of the ceiling and break all the metal bars in half. Of course, she never does, but she'll immediately leave if she hears it. Heaven forbid someone gets her a windchime as a present

Hu tao: Being a director of a funeral parlor and talking with ghosts for a long time somewhat impacts your vision on mortals, so Hu tao has grown a sixth sense of reading people. She can tell whether they're lying, worried, or pretending to be fine whenever they are fuming with anger. Sometimes, it gets a bit bad that she misses out on social cues

Keqing: With the large amount of paperwork Keqing puts on herself, she offen gets hands cramps. Sometimes, they get so bad that she has to take a break for a few minutes so the bones of her hands don't feel like they're about to break apart

Ningguang: Since Ningguang is the richest person in Tevyat, she occasionally spends her mora on random items just for the fun of it. Her favorite items she's bought over the recent years are candles. She's grown so attached to it that she's started up a collection

Qiqi: Since Qiqi needs a notebook to remember everyone she's met, Yaoyao decided one day that she would help Qiqi with the notebook, decorating it in cute stickers, highlighters, doodles, and occasional photographs

Shenhe: Shenhe has dissociative amnesia, specifically generalized. This means that she offen forgets where she went, what she did, who she spoke to, what she experienced, or even who she is

Xiangling: Xiangling, being the spicy cook herself, she doesn't actually check how much spices she puts in her food for the customers. Does she still use measuring cups? Yes, but sometimes they can be a bit overfilled

Xiao: When all of the yakshas were still around. Normally, the girls would help Xiao with his red eye makeup, only after they died tragically. The last yaksha had to learn how to do his own makeup, to say it was hard... was an understatement. Xiao eventually went to Zhongli for help, the geo archon being met with a sad Xiao, looking at the floor with messy red eye makeup. Don't worry, Zhongli taught Xiao, and he got the hang of it

Xingqiu: Xingqiu secretly has a condition called vasovagal syncope, which means that his body makes him pass out whenever he gets injected with a needle. Before, he thought he had a fear of needles, but when he saw Baizhu about it, he told the young writer that he actually had vasovagal syncope. Which made much more sense to Xingqiu afterward

Xinyan: Xinyan secretly loves having fun on playgrounds, but especially the swings. Whenever she comes across a playground with swings, she'll immediately stop what she's doing, run up, and try to get as high as she could

Yanfei: When in the chasm with the rest of the group, Yanfei actually got slight burn scars when fighting off those enemies due to how hard she was hitting her fireball

Yaoyao: You would expect Yaoyao to be another one of those kids whose toys are all dirty from dragging them around in the mud or one of those kids who forgets their stuffed animal, but Yaoyao is the complete opposite! She always double checks that Yuegui is in her basket, and she doesn't have to worry about Yuegui getting dirty since it's easily washable

Yelan: Whenever Yelan gets bored from time to time, getting stuck dealing with paperwork instead of going out on fun adventures. She'll train her hand to do neat tricks with her pen. She's gotten so good at it to the point where she'll zone out while her fingers mechanically rapidly spin around her pen

Yunjin: The reason why Yunjin's stage is normally warm colors with lantern lights in the background is because she can't stand flashing lights. It makes her feel dizzy, and she can never concentrate

Zhongli: Being an archon, over the years, Zhongli has come to be an expert in fashion. Just take a look in the history books and see some of the outfits he's worn! People have sometimes begged him to let him help them with fashion, but that's Zhongli's secret talent and only his. No if's or but's

Characters: Yelan x adopted daughter!reader

A/n: this was requested by @kujousarah007 ^ㅇ^ Uhh i think i got a bit carried away writing this 😭 it kinda became short towards the end bc i wrote it at like 1am yesterday lol. reader is a bit shy btw, but i tried not to make it too much

warnings: reader has depression according to the request, but their may be potential misinformation about depression. I made it not so depressing but more fluffy so i could avoid mistakes. Proofread, but in a rush so there might be some things grammatically incorrect

word count: aprox 1.1k words

•Yelan found you on a mission sleeping on the grass under a tree, with a little basket beside you. There she found freshly picked berries

"This must be her food.." She thought

•You sensed her presence, waking you up from your nap

You woke up facing a person you didnt recognize. The unknown woman turned her eyes to you "Ah- Hello there, kid."

"Mhmmm.. Hi there" you rubbed your eyes to see her clearly "W-what are you gonna do to me?"

"Dont worry, I wont do anything bad. I just happen to see you while- going for a walk!" It was a half-lie. Yes she did just happen to see you, But she wondered if you knew where her target; a group of treasure hoarders were.

You listened in amazement on how she explains the plan "So complicated... but fun!" Your mind wandered, thinking about different outcomes and turning them into scenarios

After that, you soon became fond of yelan. She treated you the way noone treated you before, Making you feel a.. different feeling.

"Im sorry y/n.. I have to get back now."

"B-but mama... I want you to stay with me!" You stared at her with puppy eyes "Let me come with you!!! Pretty pleaseeee with a cherry on top?"

She was surprised once you said "mama" she sighed, realizing you got that attached to her

"We can meet up here next time, Its getting late." She attemptee to politely answer

You shook your head and grabbed a part of her clothing. "Nuh-uh. Im not gonna sleep alone somewhere far away. If you're not gonna let me come then i'll just have to follow you! If you somehow manage to get away then ill f-find you tomorrow."

She could sense the sadness in your words. Well, Theres nothing she can do.. you seemed to be really clingy. She's dealt with children like you before, Many times. But how come torwards you, it was unalike? who could resist a poor child like you? Why did it feel... familiar? "How am i going to explain this to the agents.." She pondered

Once you both arrived in liyue harbor, She and her men set up a little room for you to settle in. You cleaned yourself up and sat on the comfortable matress.

•Your eyes roamed across the small room, you dont know why but.. it made you feel a bit emotional. Noone has ever done this for you, It made you feel a bit special.

"How is it, little one?"

You jump as you didnt notice your so called "saviour" standing behind the half-opened door.

"O-oh mothe- yelan! Its very pretty. Not like where i usually settle."

She chuckled "Mother, huh? You got comfortable really quick." Well, its not like she got comfortable too. She wont loosen up that quick though. You never know, a child could be involved with something unfortunate.

You went up to her and stared at her face. Yelan knew you wanted something, so she bent down to your level

"Its time to sleep now, y/n. We can chat tomorrow." Yelan said.

"I have one request, w-will you stay with me? just for a bit?"

Now, this moment prooves her speculations that you're having a rough time with your mental health. Seeing you having trouble falling asleep, moving a lot, all that. The sad part is, You dont notice it. You got used to living this poor life given by fate.

•The day after, she started to take care of you, Although she was always away due to her duties, you didnt mind.

•Sometimes you'd accidently call her "mother" and she'd frequently tease you about it and imitates by calling you "dearest daughter" with a hint of sarcasm

"Yelan, mother, a friend or a mere stranger. I can be any of those. I can play whoever you want me to be."

•Yelan taught you lots of stuff growing up! Most of it was on how to communicate with people, the rest, she wanted you to learn on your own so you could be independant.

•When she was away, She'd always send you letters to remind you that she hasnt forgot.

•But getting older, you soon start realizing things.

•Its the way she kept lying. You knew your mother's job was to lie, no doubt she lied to you multiple times. But as you lay down in the middle of your bed, dozens of thoughts going thru your mind, what made you believe her?

•You get up to look at your calendar.

"Mother said she'd be back yesterday. What happened to that? hrm, another lie yet again." You spoke to yourself.

"Listen to me. yes i lie, you know me. You know what i do. But i promise you one thing.."

The familiar voice made sure to speak clearly, though how it spoke so suddenly startled you.

"Ye-yelan..?"

"Missed me, my favorite y/n?" She slightly teased

You jumped to embrace her, feeling warm again. "Im listening! Tell me the promise."

"...That i'll always come back." She cleared her throat and continued. "That is the one thing that will never be untrue. I have a reason for keeping you as far as possible from my work and not telling you everything, you know? Well, one of those reasons are to keep you safe. Its for that very promise. I understand your feelings and- i apologize if i couldnt fulfill several of your wishes due to work. I'll make it up to you, next time theres another minor problem im tasked to do, i'll bring you along with me just like how i did the first time i met you. Are we clear?"

Your eyes widened, then you smiled. The genuine one you only showed to her.

"There we go, now you're smiling. Keep it up." Yelan said.

"Watch me, i'll use the technique you taught me when that time comes!"

Yelan looked thru your window, and back to you. "Exicted again, hm? Lets get you to bed now, the days will go by faster."

How I think all the Mondstadt and Liyue playable Genshin characters text + extra stuff about their phones (slight modern au)

A/N: So before I start, heyyy 😍 I know I’ve been gone for like ages but I’ve been trying to come up with ideas. Also wanted to say that I am INDEED alive so enjoy ❤️

Rosaria:

Okay let’s be fr she probably has great grammar without even trying

Definitely uses the little ‘ (I forgot what it’s called) she gets slightly annoyed when people don’t use it 😀

Only uses dots when she’s serious

Mostly a dry texter but when she’s drunk it gets a bit better

Kaeya:

We all know he’d never be a dry Texter

Uses „Lmao“ a LOT and I mean A LOT

Allergic to dots at the end of messages (will probably use them while texting Jean or other knights tho)

He‘d be a fun person to text

Uses „~“ at the end of flirty texts from time to time but you never know if he just uses it as a joke 💀

A very fast texter btw

Rarely misspells anything but if he does it’s BAD.

Never leaves you on read (if he likes you), he either sees the message or he doesn’t

Mona:

She definitely uses a lot of commas (how you’re supposed to)

If she texts you something it’s probably gonna be a whole paragraph

She will use dots at the end of sentences depending on her mood

Never misspells anything for some reason (it’s autocorrect)

Prefers just calling you because her hands are wet most of the time

I just wanna add her that phone is definitely waterproof because her outfit doesn’t have any pockets so she drops it a lot while doing her sprint

Oh boy here we go

So I think he’d be more of a dry texter if you two aren’t that close but it definitely gets a slight bit better if you know him for long enough

He isn’t that slow when texting

Has left you on read accidentally because he is a very busy person and just forgot about your message (forgive him)

Very good grammar and doesn’t need autocorrect to save him

I‘d like to add his phone is on silent mode most of the times so he doesn’t get interrupted while working or being in a meeting

Jean:

Okay first off I feel like she forgets where she puts her phone a lot bc of work and stuff

Her brightness is all the way up. Literally. Like all of the moms have it

She doesn’t have multiple tabs open (surprisingly)

Okay but when she texts you she definitely says „Ok“. She isn’t mad she’s just a dry texter dw

Will add random emojis. You’ll see „😃“ or „😊“ a lot

The exact opposite of a dry texter

Allergic to not only cats but dots AND commas

Will send you random song texts, also texts of his songs

Phone calls are very chaotic. You could be facetiming him and he’s just on some random tree

Does not leave you on read. Man’s has a lot of free time 💪

Barbara:

She’s somewhere in between dry texter and not dry texter

Uses „!!“ at the end of sentences a lot

Tried helping Jean with the way she texts and failed

If you have WhatsApp you know you can post stuff in your story. She posts videos of her and the other sisters singing in the Kathedrale

Her brightness is all the way up too. I just know it.

Literally never misspells ANYTHING. You will never catch this man misspelling shit

Puts his drawings in his story a lot

He isn’t online that much so sometimes it takes him days to answer to your texts 😔

But if you do ask him something he will give you a detailed answer. Detailed enough to make you have to ask him to dumb it down for you

Uses „Mhm“ a lot

Medium texter. Not fast but also not slow

If he’s confused he will just use „???“

Sucrose:

I honestly don’t have much to say about her

She doesn’t text you that much

Daily good morning texts tho

I think she does voice mails most of the time

Keeps her brightness down bc eyesight 😍 (Same)

Her phone „dings“ anytime she gets a message

Keeps her tone on Incase there is an emergency

Amber:

Her phone is turned off most of the time bc she’s on duty outside a lot (the monsters could hear her)

Texts a lot like Barbara

Good morning and night texts EVERY DAY. The day she doesn’t text it is the day she died

Records cute animals she sees on outside duty and puts it in her story

Its „Yup“ or „Yep“ instead of yes

Has a mini baron bunny attached to her phone case (dw it doesn’t explode)

Her storage is fighting for its life with all those videos

Eula:

She doesn’t text a lot of people. Only the knights and amber have her number sooo 😀

Dry texter. I can smell it

Will leave you on read a lot

Basically her whole phone is blue themed. Case, background, pfp, the phone itself

Might put some Dragonspine swimming tips in her story bc amber said it’s about time she posts something in there

It’s kinda sad but she spells better than razor does…

Her spelling might be pretty good but her grammar is…a little off.

Long paragraphs and the meaning would be „wanna meet up??“

Tries texting in a cool and fischl way but if she ends up misspelling anything she’ll be embarrassed and blame oz for not correcting her (she can’t stay mad at him)

You will see a bunch of commas in her texts bc they are so dang long 😭

She has discord too. You can’t tell me otherwise

Her phone is on dark mode 🙏 one of the only phones that WON‘T burn your eyeballs

One of the main reasons she misspells stuff is because she has an eyepatch (does this even make sense 💀)

Starting off with his phone- it’s cracked. Like really cracked.

since i promised @unboundtravels i'd make a hc post for goth & yelan so HERE I KEPT MY PROMISE. many things had changed from the time i had started writing it so i'm rewriting the whole thing according to the latest timeline. we retconned them like two times already, there were lots of changes from their initial plots / development but ultimately their overall dynamic remains the same. some changes are minor but some are quite major to their development and relationship. ofc they'd end up together one way or the other, but i'm going to keep the hc very much in-tune with their most recent plot and what we both consider as their CANON timeline. ( i'm putting this under read more bc it's LONG AF )

do you know that feeling of like — when you meet someone and you're hit with that tugging inside of you that if you don't do something you're going to regret it ? that's the very start of goth and yelan. i don't want to say what they have is love at first sight bc it wasn't. not something that easy, but what they share with one another was the feeling that i don't think i'd meet someone like him / her again so if i don't do something i'm going to regret it. it started like that, for both of them. their first meet, them being roped into solving a mystery together, yelan working with someone after a while and learning to trust someone. it's the first time yelan was shown things she had never seen before, too. by the end of it, he asked her to travel with him. she accepted, under the condition that every trip, he's going to send her back to liyue so she could handle her business before embarking on another journey.

for yelan, trusting someone is a huge, huge deal. her profession requires her to be wary of everyone and to never trust anyone, to never let someone close enough to form attachment. goth actually breaks lots of rules in that regards. he wasn't wrong when he said he's not like someone she has ever met, and he's going to show her things she had never seen before. well, he's a time traveler so traveling with him really makes yelan an OUTLANDER. for the first time, yelan felt like she's the one who knows very little compares to how knowledgeable and informative she is as a spy in liyue. it changes her perspective by a lot, and it affects how she sees the world as a whole. that, in turn, also affects how she feels about the man she travels with, as well. i mean he literally went one-on-one against a god who's a literal sun. that's literally their first date. it gives yelan a lot of insights of what kind of person he is tho. he's a HANDFUL from the very start.

if learning to trust someone wasn't already a challenge, yelan is coming to terms about how little she knows about the universe in general. so being with him makes her feel like she's relying on him as opposed to her being independent. it's something she had to get used to, a lot. to follow someone instead of leading, bc you really aren't experienced about the places or the logic of the worlds outside your own. it's a lot of adjustments for her as a whole. that, and traveling with someone. yelan is used to doing things alone. even in teyvat, other than having her men gather some information for her, most of the time she's traveling and doing things by herself. being with goth, traveling with him, forces her to try to understand him, to a degree. and that was something that tugged at her even during their first meet. she had a feeling that he's much more than the eye could see. he has his secrets, and she has hers. other than the fact that he's showing her things she had never seen before, that's all they are to each other. traveling partners, or so she thought.

they say it's impossible to not fall in love with someone who makes you feel like you don't have to lie. that's the very definition of how yelan falls for goth. he's someone whose presence makes her feel time and time again that she doesn't have to lie or pretend to be okay. that it's okay for her to be human. and yelan needs that. the thing is, she doesn't even knows she needs that. a person who she doesn't have to pretend in front of. she's so used to having so many disguises and identity that the idea of being herself is so far-fetched, even more so showing someone her real self. her vulnerability, her past and regrets. she hates feeling feel and exposed. goth had, however, proved to her time and time again that he wouldn't care. if anything, he has his own wounds that he doesn't want to talk about, either. and that resonates with her. before she knows it, goth becomes someone yelan does not lie to. the fact that he sees through her lies is one thing, but bc she doesn't want to lie to him. he's the one person she doesn't want to pretend with.

yelan never needs anyone, but she had come to need his presence without knowing, and she refused to accept it for the longest time. she never allows herself to get attached bc getting attached means you're making them your weakness. your enemy can target them to get to you, and believe it or not, yelan has an issue with allowing herself to grow close to someone bc she secretly harbors a fear of losing a loved one. she had faced the loss of her whole team before and that scarred her so deeply. she vowed to never get attached again so she would be invincible, she would have no weakness, and if she doesn't get attached, she cannot get hurt if she loses them. it's all win-win-win on every angle. it's not worth it, be the pain, the risk of betrayal, the risk of them becoming a liability, becoming her weakness, becoming a target, and the risk of losing them. she had already failed to save her team, getting herself exposed like that would only end badly. there's no good thing about it. it's not worth it. at all. that is, until goth comes along. i don't think yelan knows how or when he becomes such an irreplaceable presence to her. but when he looks at her, she feels like he sees her for her, and not the spy or informant she had always been. he sees her for her, and he reaches out for her. for the first time, yelan wants to reach back. for the first time, she's faltering on her own rules because — he's the first to make her feel that it might be worth it all. all those risks. he's worth every risks she's going to take for falling for him.

she told him that she can't save him. not because he's beyond saving, but bc she doesn't think she's that capable to save someone as special and as broken as him. he's probably much more than a human could take. and she told him that. " i wouldn't mind letting you try. " was his answer. really — she just opened her heart how she didn't think she's capable of saving anyone after telling him the whole story about her first team, or the guilt she carries with her. and he still said it like he wouldn't care whether she could or not, that he wanted her to do it anyway. that he wanted her there with him. over the years, yelan had been told that her skills were needed, her power and strength were needed, her information and talent were needed. that was the first time someone said they needed her. not her skills or power, her.

and she needs him for the exact same reason. she needs him to remind her that it's okay to be vulnerable. she needs him to remind her that she is still human, that she isn't invincible, that loving someone isn't a weakness bc he had never be anything close to a weakness for her. falling for him had made her human, but it had made her stronger than ever. it made her who she is, it made her learn and fall, and it made her feel okay to not lie. when you are with someone like that, after you've lied your whole life, it's impossible to not fall in love with them. it's impossible for her to not fall in love with him. she did. she does. she still is. falling for him, that is.

he makes her smile, he makes her laugh, he makes her live her life the way she had never done before. he brings out a side of her that even yelan doesn't know she has, or make her do things she doesn't know she's capable of. some things that are normal for people aren't normal for yelan, but he makes it easy for her to embrace that, too. everything comes and falls naturally when she's with him. their conversation, their banters, their exchange, their battles and fights, their arguments and talk. they contrast each other but compliment one another all at the same time. it's a perfect fit. yelan isn't the type to be impulsive, she's calculative and cautious, while goth is extremely impulsive. she had lost count of how many times he pulled her into things without any plans ( which is opposite of her ) and makes decisions on the spot and hope for the best. he taught her about hope, and how there's always a way out.

the choices they make aren't always right, but they decide to stick together. i think that's one of the many things that keep them together. goth and yelan aren't the type to believe in fate or destiny. they're the type to write their own story and make their own path. they wouldn't let fate decide things for them. so the decision made by each other plays a vital part in their relationship. it's not fate that keep them together. they choose to stay together. they decide that this person is who i want to be with against all odds, and for people like them, that kind of decision has to be mutual, and it was mutual. they choose to make it work, that's why it works. they want it to work, they want it to last, so they're doing everything they could to make it last. they reach out, they talk it out, they compromise, they adjust and learn. and it does last. it does. to the very end of it all.

they do not say i love you like normal people, either. for goth, he always says duty of care. this is something he had said even during their early adventure and it had evolved into how this means him saying i love you without actually saying the words themselves. for yelan, it's the way she would gently brush his hair away from his eyes so she could look at him proper. she does this often, too. her eyes soften whenever she does it, and she looks at him like he's everything good in this world. when she does this, this is her way of saying i love you. the thing is, neither of them know this is their ways of saying i love you. they know what they're feeling for the other, they know what the other is feeling for them, but the three words themselves were never uttered out. they do kiss, tho, and act like a married couple. they're obviously in love without saying they are.

let's not mention how many times those around them either think they're married, or ask if they're married. they always keep the answers vague. but they are married, no doubt about it.

xiao fanfic idea (based on the 2.7 chasm quest)

REQUESTING FOR ANY BORED GENSHIN WRITERS TO WRITE THIS!!!

hello i dont have any energy to rewrite all my fanfiction ideas for this quest bc i made this long ass post abt it in detail but it didnt save and now i feel so hollow and numb. im going through every stage of grief right now, currently at stage 4, depressed.

all i ask is for xiao chasm content. please. i beg. SOMEONE, LITERALLY ANYONE PLEASE MAKE XIAO FOUND FAMILY CONTENT

and then put him through an indescribable amount of pain and turmoil as he fails to accept his yaksha friends are dead and faces the slow realization he has no family, other than zhongli, left.

please help me relieve some of this pain by reblogging or tagging your favorite writers in the comments and writing down your xiao x reader chasm ideas (also in the comments) for their inspiration ...ill join too once im done crying over all of my work disappearing

for now i'll just share a few of my daydreams at its most basic level and hope to god somewhere in the world a genshin writer will take this idea and bring it to life

yaksha found family + reader witnessing all of it, being an outsider as another weaker yaksha.

where you, unaware of the suffering and pain that comes with the responsibility of being one of the five yakshas, hope to get an ounce of understanding for them like they do with one another, hoping to be part of what seems like a "family."

yearning to gain even a bit of that familial warmth, you glance over to observe them on the sidelines and smile at the sounds of their contagious laughter directed at xiao's now fully-painted face.

as years pass by, you watch in horror as each yaksha slowly succumbs to the darkness of their karma one by one, never returning to that bright family dynamic they forgot about.

finally, when xiao, the youngest of all of them, the only one remaining, tries to recover from the loss of valiant warriors he considered his siblings, you console him, experiencing a pain similar to his. both of you support one another awaiting the day you can reunite with the rest of the yakshas again.

this can really extend as much as it wants to starting off w wholesome shenanigans and then angst to possible hurt comfort or just you and xiao wailing in pain together. i love a good slow burn so thats my personal request, like each paragraph written above can be extended to a whole post and split up into a whole series, but really its up to whoever wants to take up my challenge to make it however they want.

xiao and reader dynamic:

in this case i feel like xiao bonds with reader where they feel this mutual emptiness but in different kinds of ways.

you feel alone in the world, you feel excluded from the rest of the yakshas, you long for something you don't have and haven't had in a long time, for that bond that effortlessly ties the five yakshas together. despite being surrounded by so many people you constantly feel like not one of them understands.

you want to be with anyone as long as it's someone. but you have no one. there are so many thoughts, feelings and emotions but there's no one to share them with no one who cares enough to listen. you wish for what the yaksha's have, the family they built on their mutual suffering and joys, where they all understand each others pain because they all share the same experiences.

you feel like no matter how kind or nice or strong and heroic you are or can train to be nobody thinks to call or ask anything of you, its this numbing feeling that prods in your chest at the loneliest and quietest of days, it's not like they're outwardly avoiding you, quite the opposite. they tell you to join, but however close you are to them you still feel distant, and when you part for your more meagre duties compared to their wider scale dangerous tasks, the rift between you and the family increases.

you don't feel upset, nor do you feel hurt, if anything you feel acceptance. it's normal. at times you feel gratitude; a warm feeling bubbling inside whenever they come to talk to you. happiness; whenever you see their doting towards one another, their dumb pranks and stupid jokes.

as an outsider, a weaker yaksha, you watch the adepti you've looked up to for so long from a distance and internally relish in the joy of their shared happiness.

whereas xiao is longing for something he's had before but can't do anything to get back, its this feeling of hopelessness and this agonizing need to go back to how things were, how he was before. he's distraught with the frustration and regret of not being able to get back what was lost and never being able to experience anything similar to it again. its sporadic. sudden. when the yaksha's slowly disappear, after years of investing in them from afar you end up feeling this way too, this same hole in your chest, this unshakable itch at the back of your mind that won't go away. the bond that you hoped to join, the joy you've observed for so long and the happiness you secretly chewed off of no longer exists.

now that you and xiao are the last yaksha left, perhaps you can form a new bond over your losses together.

THIS IS JUST FOR INSPO ON HOW TO WRITE THEM BTW!! do it literally however u want i just thought this would be really cool and emotional to write cuz like theres readers loneliness built up over the years and then theres xiaos mourning and that sudden period of grief and then the awkward sort of mutual sadness they feel in the end

family dynamic inspo:

xiao being the temperamental, more self centered youngest and bosacius acting as the more protective self-sacrificing eldest brother. followed by indarius (pyro yaksha) the second oldest almost mom-like, bubbly and loud friend, the walmart zhongli as the mediator, calm middle child and bonanus (hydro yaksha) as the second youngest, possessing a more timid, polite and shy aura.

and when xiao is left alone, he tries to remember all his happiest memories with each of his friends. he longs for them, he longs for the past so much that it hurts. he wants to be his old self, to get rid of this aching loneliness but as each happy memory flashes by, he spirals into a deeper pit of sadness and activates this haunting feeling in his heart that feels like something is missing. recounting the memories of his loved ones, he swears that this will never happen to anyone close to him again. even at the cost of his own life. in the midst of his vulnerability, he unknowingly engrains that very same savior complex his leader, no, his brother bosacius once had.
