Chapter 4
Xavier Thorpe x O/C
Tumblr media
The nights in Jericho were getting colder and darker, the air itself felt miserable. The grounds of Nevermore were eerily silent as staff and students stayed in their dorms in fear of becoming the Hyde's next victim.
Hands stuffed in his hoodie pockets and his head pointed down, Xavier was briskly walking back from his studio. The cold air was thrashing at his skin; he could hear his own teeth occasionally chattering. The deafening silence was only interrupted by the sound of his boots crunching the last of the autumnal leaves until a horrifying scream followed by the sound of a terrorising high pitched shrill followed after. Xavier heard his name being shouted. 'XAVIER! Help me!" The desperate pleas for help got louder and quicker before they turned into cries of desperation and pain. Xavier's brisk walk picked up to a sprint as he tried to locate the screams. His breathing was heavy and sluggish, panic ran through the blood that pumped in his veins because he knew the voice, he knew it was Alana's.
He stopped in his tracks once he saw her on the floor he knew his speed wasn't quick enough. It was too late.
He fell to his knees, kneeling beside her lifeless body. Alana's beauty had been demolished and ripped apart by the imprinting of thick, bloody claw marks and bites. He searched her wondering which wound to cover but the distribution of wounds was too many to try and figure out which one was causing the most damage. Blood trickled from her mouth, followed by a cough as she tried to splutter out Xavier' name. Tears filled his eyes as he watched her suffer, he sat down and gently slid her onto him to cradle her.
"Xavi-"
Xavier hushed her, and began a slow paced rocking motion as he closed his eyes refusing to watch her slip away in his arms. He bowed his head so his lips delicately pressed against her forehead, he let them linger there in a kiss.
"I love you" He whimpered through his kiss and the tears that rippled like the waves of a rough ocean. Alana conjured the tiniest smile before closing her eyes.
Xavier leapt forward to a sitting position in his bed gasping for breath and the sweat that dripped reminded him of the tears from his nightmare. It seemed so real, wide awake right now, he truly believed Alana was dead. Xavier threw the duvet off himself, he downed the water from his bedside table and gathered his belongings. He needed to see her…
In the morning before classes Enid and Alana were granted permission to visit the dress shop in Jericho. Alana swiftly pulled the curtain rail across to reveal her dress to Enid.
"Woah" Enid's mouth was agape as she admired Alana. Alana twirled to look in the mirror trying to catch a glance of herself at all angles. The dress was a tight fitted midi dress, white in colour with silver sparkle embellishments from the waistline down. The bodice was a strapless sweetheart with the same sparkles running across the neckline, the dress was a perfect fit for her.
"You look stunning Alana, it totally fits the theme as well."
"Yeah… the Yeti is kinda a weird theme don't you think?" Alana chuckled, still looking in the mirror to double check for any flaws she could find.
"Weird but totally rad" Enid nodded wearing that same happy grin she always wore.
"You don't think it's too tight and makes me look fat?" Alana pinched at her waist.
"Are you kidding! Your figure is lush" Enid sprung up from her seat, grabbed Alana's hands and spun her around causing the pair to burst into a fit of giggles.
"Sparkles are definitely your thing. Just like fur is mine."
Enid snapped a couple of silly selfies of the two of them before finishing up in the shop and leaving. They stopped by the Weathervane to grab a to go coffee, Wednesday was sat in her usual spot conversing with the batista and sheriffs son Tyler.
"Alana! Just the person who I was looking for" Clarissa came bouncing over to Alana. Greeting her sister's boyfriend with a hug and gleeful smile, Enid suggested she buy the drinks whilst Clarissa and Alana spoke.
"Did my brother fuck up?" Alana threw her hands on her hips, causing Clarrisa to chuckle at the question. A debate took place in Clarrisa's head… Alana was really the sweetest thing so it was going to be horrible lying to her and though Freddie didn't fuck up with Clarissa, if she did tell the lie he wanted her to he was definitely about to have fucked up with his sister.
Her amulet had been removed from her neck.
"I thought you should know… seeing as I know how close you and Xavier have become" her siren song began.
"Xavier?" Alana furrowed her eyebrows in a look of confusion.
"He was seen kissing Bianca earlier. Telling her how needy and annoying you are. I'm sorry Alana" Clarissa regretfully told her and pulled her in for a hug.
Alana's heart twinged. She was numb and unresponsive to the hug. She felt sick. Xavier wasn't exclusively hers, right? But she thought there was something between them for ages, and that had only gotten stronger since she joined Nevermore, and now this whole time she felt stupid for misreading the signs. Pulling away from Clarissa, Alana thanked her for telling her and walked over to Enid… a smile on her face pretending like the conversation she'd just had never happened.
"Are you okay? You're looking paler than usual" Enid handed a cup to Alana.
"Just feeling a bit queasy. Can we go?"

Warnings : Bullying, Crying, Angst with a fluffy ending, making fun of someone, stuttering.
Tumblr media
“Fuck off!” Enid yelled at the boys walking past, who were making fun off me, why? I don’t even know, i bet they don’t know either. I was always so kind to everyone, but it seemed like no one appreciated it. Except my Best friends, Enid, Wednesday and Yoko.
“Are you okay angel?” Yoko asked, pulling me into a tight hug, while Enid gave me a concerned face, and Wednesday was probably thinking about a way she could kill the guys.
“Cant we just- wait no thats to noticeable..” Wednesday looked down again, thinking of another idea, “Well anyway, Again, are you okay?” Yoko asked again, while tears ran down my face.
“I don’t even know why they’re doing this to me, i-i haven’t said anything mean did i?..” i widened my eyes by the thought of doing anything or saying anything mean, that wasn’t like me and i knew it.
“What? No of course not!, Xavier and his ‘friends’ are just a bunch of little assholes. They don’t deserve your attention.” Enid almost screamed telling me that, while Yoko wiped my tears away with her thumbs
“I know it!” Wednesday yelled behind us “what?” We all said in Unison “we can maybe lead them in the woods and then the monster will do its job!!” Wednesday said with a slight smirk. “Yeah lets bring you inside..” Enid widened her eyes and pulled Wednesday inside.
TIMESKIP NEXT DAY
I was in the quad, sitting at a table with Enid, Yoko and Wednesday. Just the usual, when Xavier came up to us again, i sighed and turned my head to him “what, Thorpe.” I gave him a annoyed look and he looked ‘shocked’ as i gave him that look. “calm down L/N, i just wanted to ask if you wanted to meet me in the woods? Tonight..” He asked looking down at me “uhm yea sure i guess, text me okay?..” he nodded and walked away.
“Why’d you say yes?” All the girls asked me, giving me confused faces “i-i dont know i just wanted to know what he has planned.”
TIME SKIP TO THAT NIGHT
you stood in the woods with your phone in your hand, sending Xavier your Location.
from , Xavier Thorpe
Okay im omw
To , Xavier Thorpe

Half an hour later you were still waiting, you’re called him 5 times, but no reaction. You’ve texted him a lot, no reaction.
to , Xavier Thorpe
Voice message 1 : Xavier hurry up. Im freezing
Voice message 2 : where are you Xavier.
Voice message 3 : you know what, fuck you im leaving.
You slid down the tree and buried your head onto your knees, tears from your face, dripping to your legs. You pulled out your phone again and FaceTimed the girls
*Cute Vamp Joined the Call*
*Bimbo Joined the call*
*Hot Goth Girl Joined the call*
Y : Love where are you, wait no. Where is Xavier?
E : He definitely didn’t show, asshole.
W : I’ll slit his throat.
YOU : c-can you guys p-please come pick me up, I’m so f-fucking scared and tired.
All : where on our way.
They all waved goodbye quickly hung up.
Not even 5 minutes later they stood in front off you, Wednesday pulled my up and opened her arms “w-what are you doing?” I asked her “you don’t want a hug?” she asked , my mouth formed into a ‘o’ shape and pulled her into a hug.
TIME SKIP NEXT DAY IN CLASS
“Hey how was your date with Xavier last night? Oh thats right he didn’t show!” Rowan teased me while Xavier walked up behind him “oh sorry love I totally forgot about our little date.. maybe next time!” He chuckled.
“Xavier leave the poor girl alone..” he heard behind him, it was his Ex, Bianca Barclay. She was sitting next to Enid’s boyfriend, Ajax, who gave Xavier a disgusted face. “And why should i do that?” He asked looking down at me “because its fucking sad what you are doing! You left her alone in the woods last night!” Ajax yelled at him.
Xavier suddenly yanked me out of class, but he went with me “let me go!” I yelled at him “no i want you to listen to me!” He raised his voice at me so i turned completely silent.
“I like you, okay?!, thats why I’ve been such an asshole to you.” He raised his voice again but it also went softer. “w-what?.. i don’t get it why should that be a reason for you to be such an asshole?..”
“Because i wanted to forget about you, but this totally didn’t help..” he walked closer to me, as he suddenly pulled me in a gentle, soft kiss. My face showed off 5 different colors of blush. “Your cute.”
“We should ditch class!” I shouted quietly, as he widened his eyes “didn’t expect that from you, but sure”

Tomita Kazuhiko
Tomita Kazuhiko.
El Marchette Award Gold, RCA, (Londres, 1993); Distinción G-mark / Good Design Award (1998), Departamento de pequeñas y medianas empresas, JIDPO (Tokio), y The International Design Yearbook (1998 y 2002), Londres.

Chapter 6
Xavier Thorpe x O/C
Tumblr media
I always looked forward to my weekly facetime with Freddie, I really lucked out to have a brother like him. He was protective… maybe a little too protective but at least I knew he cared. Most importantly he always found time for me, even if I was ranting on about how much I hated school and telling him all about my boy problems. My phone was vibrating and his name popped up on my screen. I was so jealous of the life he was living. It was my mission in life to get to Nevermore. Swiping to answer him I was greeted by his face with a massive grin appearing on my screen followed by a wave which I copied.
“How are you?” Freddie asked, I could tell he was in his dorm as I recognised the walls and the bed in the background. He must have been sat at his desk.
“I’m doing okay.. Are you?”
“No trouble this week? I’m good, just got back from lesson and have free time for the rest of the day” his attention turned away from me as if somebody had entered the room. The sound of laughter vibrated. I could only assume it was Ajax and Xavier.
“You alright boys?” Freddie greeted his mates. I heard the voices reply and it confirmed my beliefs of it being his two best mates. I knew Freddie was well-liked at the school, he didn’t tell me too much but I knew Ajax and Xavier were two guys he appreciated by his side.
“Hey, er Alana, I need to pee real quick.”
“Oh okay… don’t take me with you” I chuckled as I watched him stand from his desk.
“Kay, I’ll put you on the phone to Xavier” I gulped feeling nervous that I was about to see Xavier, he was so beautiful.
“Put a jumper on Alana!” Freddie said as he handed the phone over to Xavier. I was wearing a low cut crop top only because it was scorching weather and comfortable.
“It’s roasting here Freddie!” I yelled back hoping he’d hear. I saw his face on my screen and Ajax sat in the background. Ajax waved and I did too.
“Hey Alana!”
Freddie would usually say Xavier was quiet and moody, sometimes reclusive but whenever I saw him, even for a few quick seconds he was smiling.
“Hey Xavier…” I didn’t know what to say… it was as if my mouth dried up like the Sahara Desert. It was awkward for a few seconds as we continued to stare at each other.
“So.. how’s you and Bianca?” Xavier was way too good looking to stay single and it was true Bianca was his girlfriend, she’s one of the most stunning sirens I’d ever seen.
“ Bianca? Actually, Bianca and I broke up a couple months ago… didn’t Freddie tell you”
What?! For some reason my heart was beating so fast, then I watched the way he licked his bottom lip as he finished speaking.
“I’m sorry to hear that” I replied… I wasn’t sorry at all, it also explained why she hadn’t posted pictures of them recently on her Instagram.
“Yeah, I broke it off so it’s all good”
Xavier was beginning to see Alana in a different light, she was always just Freddie’s sister but in this moment she was Alana. She radiated sweetness and warmth. To Xavier she was bewitching from her shimmering eyes, to her lips which he couldn’t stop stealing glances at, he even found himself having to remain polite and try not look at her cleavage which was a struggle but he was utterly consumed by her.
……………………………………..⭐……………………………………..
“Alana?” Alana was alone at her bench in the quad and her head was buried deep into a book about telekinesis as she was hoping to continue learning more about her own powers, she was also jealous of Freddie’s healing powers, she desperately wanted to have her own unique power.
“Kent?” Her voice was surprised to see him looking down at her, they did speak everyday but mainly in class, they hardly ever conversed in their own time. Setting her book down she waited for him to reply.
“I was just wondering if I could ask you something?”
“Er.. yeah sure, what's up?” Kent sat opposite Alana, she was sensing he was nervous due to the constant coughs in his throat and wiping his hands on his trousers as if he had sweaty palms.
“ I just wondered if you were going to the Rave’n’?”
“Yeah, I’m going…” Alana nodded.
“With anyone?”
“Yeah, Enid and Wednesday” Alana was a little gutted she didn’t have a date, she was even more gutted it wasn't with Xavier but she kept reminding herself she was better off without him.
“Isn’t Enid going with Ajax.”
“Yeah… I’m like crashing it. Not sure what Wednesday is doing though.”
“Well… do you want to maybe… go…go with me?”
“With you?” Alana’s head lowered and her lips hung open slightly stunned by Kent’s proposal.
“I mean if you dont…”
“Yeah okay.” Alana interrupted him.
“Yeah okay?” Kent repeated Alana’s words with a smile clearly chuffed she had agreed.
“Yeah. I’m just surprised because I only spoke to you for the first time last week.”
“I mean if you don’t ask you don’t get. Right?” Kent pursed his lips and shrugged his shoulders. Alana stood up from her bench waiting for Kent to join her so she could hug him. Kent’s arms snaked around Alana’s waist as he enjoyed the embrace.
“I’ll meet you at the bottom of the stairs near the entrance tomorrow then?” Kent asked.
“Sure” Alana battered eyelashes, a lip bite interfering with her smile.
The other side of the quad sat Xavier, he’d stopped sketching a drawing of Alana reading when Kent had stood in the way of his vision. He couldn’t quite make out what was happening and why Alana was so pleased, as Kent walked away Xavier and Alana made eye contact. To both of them it was always electrifying when their eyes met, they were drawn to each other like two loving soulmates. She was the first to look away, ignoring any urge to talk to him and acknowledge any of those flapping butterflies in her heart. His ears pricked up when he saw Kent and his twin Divina about to walk past him…
“She said yes?” Divinia spoke clearly enough for Xavier to hear.
“She did. You’re on your own now sis”
“It’s okay I’ve got Yoko for the Rave’N’’ anyway”
Alana had agreed to go with Kent to the Rave’N’? Xavier felt a mixture of feelings he went from rage to misery in under zero point one second.
Xavier found himself in Ajax and Freddie’s room, he needed to vent about Alana and Kent… with obvious intentions to tell Freddie about Kent and Alana.
“Fucking Kent?” Freddie spat, his eyes wide open. Xavier rolled his lips inwards nodding his head.
“That’s a joke right?” Ajax laughed looking between both boys trying to lighten the mood realising that neither boys were laughing or looking impressed in the slightest. Freddie put a pillow onto his face and screamed into it.
“Same.” Xavier responded to Freddie’s own outburst by leaning his forehead on the wall and letting out a small groan in frustration.
“What are you vexed at.. She ain't your sister” Freddie questioned, peering over his pillow but still clutching it to his chest.
“You know why Freddie” Xavier’s turned away from the wall his voice was low as he let his head drop down to look at the floor and put his hands in his pockets
“This can all get solved if you just tell him Freddie!” Ajax spoke up, grabbing the pillow from him. The expression on Freddie’s face towards Ajax was cold and unimpressed with Ajax.
“Tell who what?” Xavier’s interest had peaked.
“It's nothing! I know you like her and I do trust you and I’m just not ready for you and her… you’re my mate… she’s my sister.” Freddie was still staring out Ajax as he snatched back his pillow, throwing it over his head to rest on it. Xavier, now even more intrigued, strided over to the boys, he stood shoulder to shoulder with Ajax and peered down at Freddie who’s eyes darted to the ceiling to avoid all eye contact with Xavier.
“One of you will tell me what’s going on”
“Xavier…Freddie…”
“Ajax!”
Ajax closed his eyes, he couldn’t keep the secret from Xavier any longer.
“Freddie told Clarissa to use her siren song on Alana and tell her you kissed Bianca and said those things about her!” Ajax blurted out without any pauses, he was winded by a pillow being thrusted into his midsection.
Xavier raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
“You did what?”

Chapter 5
Xavier Thorpe x O/C
Tumblr media
When Alana arrived at Miss Thornhill's class, her usual seat next to Xavier was empty. Even just looking at the back of his head was annoying her. She felt betrayed by the words he'd used to describe her, he could kiss whoever he pleased but the backstabbing comments is where Alana drew the line. She observed the classroom quickly scanning for any empty seats, there was one next to Kent, another siren, one of Bianca’s best friends. Kent was kind, known to be loyal and one of the funniest people at Nevermore. He had smooth wavy brown hair and during class it was always slicked back in a ponytail, he had piercing sea green eyes to match his sire aesthetic. With a confident stride, she wanted to be careful not to show any weakness, Alana walked past her normal seat and stood next to Kent. Kent's eyes landed on her books as she set them down with a purposeful thud. Kent’s eyes looked up to see who the books belonged to.
"May I?" Alana asked sweetly, pointing at the stool.
"Yeah, sure" Kent, surprised by Alana's presence, pulled the stool out from underneath the table for her and gestured to sit down.
"Fancy a change in seat?" He asked, giving her a genuine smile.
"Needed a breath of fresh air." Alana replied, it took all her might to keep her eyes focused on Kent and to not look past his shoulder at Xavier
"Glad to be of service"
Stupidly Alana quickly looked over at Xavier, she hoped he'd be looking over but his focus was looking down at his sketchbook, he clearly hadn't noticed Alana's change in seats. Alana’s irritation grew as she saw Bianca approach Xavier, her fists curled into a ball and she tightened her eyes to control any anger and her power.
"Guess this is my seat today?" Bianca's voice caught Xavier's attention. He looked up to find Bianca hovering over the spare chair next to him. Class was about to begin and he knew Alana hated being late. He scanned around the room, he found Freddie who was glaring at a different direction than the front of the class. He watched as Ajax leaned into him to say something and Freddie shot him an unamused look. His disapproving stare made Xavier follow his look to find it settled on Alana and… Kent. Kent of all people Xavier thought scrunching up his face in confusion. The confusion quickly changed to discomfort as his face winced still imagining her with all the wounds from his nightmares the night before. Looking over at her again she was already making notes and not acknowledging him at all. He was unsure as to why she had taken a seat next to Kent but he desperately needed to talk to her.
"Uh, yeah" Xavier replied, becoming aloof towards Bianca but moved his books to make space on the desk for her.
"Lovers tiff?" Bianca asked Xavier her eyesight upon Alana.
"What?"
"You and Alana.. she's obviously sat next to Kent for a reason." Xavier took another glance but there was still no sign of Alana looking in his direction.
"I don't know" Xavier was blunt in his responses trying to not engage with his ex-girlfriend.
"You must have done something terrible… she's usually glued to you like a puppy dog and it's owner"
"Stop talking. Your petty comments are boring me." Xavier created a false yawn to further insult her.
"Mr Thorpe and Miss Barclay. Please refrain speaking whilst class is in session" Miss Thornhill interjected into their conversation, a conversation Xavier didn't want to entertain in the first place.
At that moment Alana looked over to see Xavier already staring in her direction. He looked dejected, almost like he was sulking by the way his lips pouted and his eyebrows drooped. Alana rolled her eyes with a subtle head shake and returned her attention back to her teacher. Xavier was even more confused by Alana's reaction, there was no genuine reason he believed for her to be acting pissed off.
As class ended and people began to file out the classroom Xavier made sure he was right behind Alana so he could catch her. He watched as she walked past him smiling at something Kent had said to her. Xavier would never identify himself as a jealous person because he tried to keep himself out of other business and just be there for his friends, but Alana made him feel differently, that whole lesson whenever Kent and Alana spoke he would dig his pencil deeper into the paper and watch on through gritted teeth.
As they reached outside it was a torrential downpour, anybody who was standing in its way was getting soaked. Xavier reached his hand out to catch her hand to stop her. As she turned around to see who had held her hand she sighed heavily, instantly feeling emotionally and physically heavier. Strands of Xavier’s drenched hair had loosened from his bun as he tried to catch up to her, with his free hand he tugged his hair back away from his face, a habit he did which always turned Alana on, catching her breath getting heavy she closed her eyes to calm down.
“What was that in there?” Xavier exhaled. Alana tugged her hand away from his and quickly turned her back to Xavier and walked away. Xavier was hot on her heels, rushing to catch her up, he scooted past her and stopped her in her tracks placing his hands on her shoulders in desperation to understand what had happened. The heavy rain caused their faces to become covered in droplets, the way they slid down their cheeks alomst acted as teadrops.
“Alana, talk to me!” Xavier begged.
“There’s no point”
“Why?”
“Just forget about it Xavier. I’m not wasting my time and feelings” Alana huffed wiping away the cold rain from her face.
“Why would you be wasting your feelings? I’m so lost right now”
“I’d just be ‘needy’ and ‘annoying’” Alana raised her eyebrows referring to what Clarissa told her. She wanted to be angry but her voice just carried disappointment instead. A heavy crash of thunder made the two jump and look intensely at each other, it was as if the thunder portrayed exactly how both parties were feeling.
“Y… You wouldn’t be” Xavier cocked his head, he’d never said those words about her ever.
“Look, let’s just go back to how it was. Me, Freddie’s sister and you, Freddie's friend.”
“I’m not going to do that. I’m not just going to pretend like I don’t know you and let you discount my feelings.” Xavier shook his head assertivley.
“Discount your feelings? Maybe you should have thought about that before you were seen kissing Bianca and proceeding to call me ‘needy’ and ‘annoying.’ I need to focus on me not getting caught up in whatever this was” Alana’s black hair was soaked, she twisted it onto one shoulder and began wringing it to withdraw the excess water.
“Bianca? I haven’t been with Bianca for months, you know that. I wouldn’t have not since… you Alana. Where is this coming from?” Xavier’s voice broke as he pleaded with her.
“It doesn’t matter… I’m sorry Xavier I don’t want to do something I’ll regret. Leave me alone please” Alana took one last glance at Xavier before turning away from him again, she swore there were tears in his eyes and that made her feel awful. She’d never seen Xavier so vulnerable, mainly because Xavier never wanted to be not even with Bianca, he felt he had to be the power couple with her. Xavier opened his mouth as if to speak but nothing left his lips. The only thing he could do was retaliate by punching one of the walls. Alana heard a loud smack, turning around she saw Xavier shouting unpleasant terms, clutching his hand and grimacing in pain before grabbing his bag slinging it over his shoulder and storming off.
“Sounds like an L bro” Ajax patted Xavier’s back who was sitting down, slumped forward, applying an ice pack to his hand.
“Thanks for your undying support Ajax… it’s not even true” Xavier mumbled.
The sound of the door creaking open and Freddie entering the room made Xavier roll his eyes and groan.
“What’s his problem?” Freddie questioned Ajax but walked over to Xavier to take a closer look at his hand.
“He punched a wall because of your sister” Ajax being a little too upfront about the situation.
“What did Alana do?” Freddie crouched down to assess the injury. Freddie’s powers had begun to develop, he was displaying very early signs of healing, at the moment he could only nurse minor injuries.
“Let me help” Freddie may have hated the idea of Xavier and his sister but Xavier will always be one of his best mates and he would do anything for him… as long as it did not include his sister. Freddie hovered his hands over Xavier’s injured one and channelled his energy into repairing any damage. The three boys watched in amazement as Xavier’s skin healed and the bruises disappeared.
“Thanks bro” Xavier finally looked up from the ground and managed to give Freddie the tiniest glimpse of a smile.
“What happened?” Freddie continued to ask, Xavier was unresponsive, and began to gather his things.
”Basically someone…maybe Bianca… out of spite … we don’t know, told Alana that Xavier and Bianca had been seen kissing and that Xavier said Alana was ‘needy’ and ‘annoying’” Ajax again spoke for Xavier, Xavier looked over at Ajax speechless giving him dagger eyes. Freddie rolled his lips and slowly nodded his head avoiding eye contact knowing he was the reason for this whole situation.
“Sometimes Ajax you can keep your mouth closed. You’re like one of those snakes of yours on your head” Ajax scowled back knowing Xavier didn’t really mean it.
“Well maybe you just move on” Freddie bluntly told Xavier and flopped onto his bed. Xavier didn’t respond out of respect for his friendship with Freddie. Xavier waved his hand and them both as a signal of his departure.
“Really? Couldn’t you show an ounce of pity?” Ajax asked.
“What? She’s my sister” Freddie’s eyes widened as he sat up.
“And… he really likes her, I’ve never seen him like this. He wasn’t like this with Bianca bro. C’mon”
Freddie huffed heavily knowing that Ajax was right, after seeing Xavier so torn up about her he had a deep aching sense of guilt for going behind a friend's back. He just didn’t want to admit it and now he was far too deep into this lie he’d created.
“I might have fucked up” Freddie declared.
“What?”
“It was me”
“What were you?” Ajax was confused as to where the conversation was going.
“The comments about Alana? Xavier and Bianca kissing… it was me” Ajax’s mouth turned into a ‘o’ shape as he clocked onto what Freddie was talking about.
“I asked Clarissa to tell Alana with her siren song that someone had seen it.” Freddie dropped his head into his hands.
“That’s sneaky bro”
“I know Ajax. Thanks for the support” Freddie snapped
“People keep saying that to me” Ajax furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes darting all around the room as he thought about Xavier mentioning it just previously.
“Yeah because you’re not making anybody feel any better about what’s happened”
Alana, Wednesday and Enid were sitting at a bench located in the quad. There were lots of people roaming the quad, the wolves were playing roughhouse and howling and the sirens were practising their singing for the next tournament. Alana saw Xavier appear, her instinct was to always talk to him… call him over or follow him, she began to think she had been too harsh earlier. She studied Xavier, his hair was down covering his face, his head looking down to the floor with his hood up and his walk was fast paced across the outskirts of the quad..
“Love is pointless” Wednesday’s monotonous voice tried to cheer up Alana.
“Don’t listen to her. Look at me and Ajax, it isn't pointless”
“Look, do I look that bothered?” Alana snapped then smiled trying to convince her friends she was fine.
“Yes” Wednesday spoke as Enid replied with a ‘No’ over the top of Wednesday.
“Can we just move on…”
“Yes lets… so I’m trying to convince Wednesday to invite Tyler to the Rave’N’.” Enid flapped her arms in excitement much to Wednesday’s dismay.

Chapter 3
Xavier Thorpe x O/C
Tumblr media
"Alana!" Muffled screams from Wednesday were the last thing she heard before passing out. Too much use of her energy would cause her to lose consciousness. That's how powerful her energy was. In the moment of falling in and out of consciousness she felt useless… she might as well be the sword brought to a gunfight at that point. Battling to keep her eyes open her last view was the Hyde being taken down by a wolf… a wolf with pink tips in its hair. Enid.
As she opened her eyes Alana recognised she was in Nevermore's infirmary. Her blurred vision became clearer…she recognised Wednesday who was sitting on the edge of the hospital bed facing her direction. Turning her head she saw Freddie asleep in a chair and directly looking down on Alana was Xavier who had perched on the edge of her bed.
"Welcome back" a coy smile from Xavier warmed Alana.
"Is it dead?" Alana groaned weakly as she sat up. Alana clutched onto the first hand she saw and it was Xavier's. She was instantly comforted by this but blushed as she felt Xavier squeeze her hand. His face was brooding as he looked concerned for Alana.
A blunt 'No' left Wednesday's lips as she approached the bed.
"You were strong, too much of your own energy can be hurtful to yourself Alana" Wednesday added.
"I know… I just wanted to make sure you and Enid were-"
The voices had woken Freddie and when he saw Alana was awake he leapt from his position giving her a gigantic hug.
"Be careful… I'm a little bruised in areas" Alana whimpered.
"A little? What were you thinking taking on a Hyde?"
"She's more powerful than you think Freddie" Wednesday replied. Freddie snapped his head to Wednesday's direction giving her a disapproving look.
"If you hadn't of gotten yourself involved with Wednesday Addams maybe you wouldn't be battered and bruised sis"
"Don't blame Wednesday. What about Enid?"
"She's fine. Ajax is with her" Xavier answered in a mellow tone, soothing as always.
"Thank god Xavier was there" Freddie patted him on the back, Xavier giving a weak smile in response.
"Xavier was there?' Wednesday questioned her eyes thinning in suspicion.
"Yeah, he brought Alana here"
"And why did you so conveniently happen to be at the Gates family home?" Wednesday began to interrogate Xavier.
"Wednesday please" Alana tried to defuse the tension.
"I was walking down to the library but you three were already there talking about your plan… but as always Wednesday, thank you for making me suspect number one again" Xavier grunted before turning his attention back to Alana. Alana looked down at the hands she and Xavier were holding, she felt the warmth and comfort but she hated to admit that she did wonder sometimes whether Xavier was the Hyde. He'd always mysteriously showed up after any interaction with the Hyde. Alana failed to mention her suspicions to Xavier out of fear he'd react in the same manner he often does towards Wednesday, seeing as Alana's feelings were much more sensitive. Alana poised herself to stand up, she grabbed onto Xavier who gently eased her up. Freddie as per usual looked moody whenever Xavier was around his sister and now his sister had gotten involved with the kooky Addams he was even less impressed.
"Stop looking like a spoiled brat Freddie. I'm fine. I need to help Wednesday finish this case"
"You'll do no such thing" Freddie interjected.
"He's right Alana. Unfortunately, you and Enid took most of the damage to my dismay. You should recover."
"I'll take her back to her dorm" Alana linked arms with Xavier and slowly they began to walk away leaving Wednesday and Freddie staring blankly at each other as if they were having a stare-down.
As the night clouded over Xavier was in his studio. He often painted dark, mysterious and menacing material… but this one was different. This was the first time in a long time he used colour in one of his paintings. A painting of Alana. Her facial features were perfect from the colour of her eyes down to the shape of her red-tinted lips.
"Poor girl" Wednesday's voice distracted Xavier. He turned to see Wednesday looking ghastly at his painting.
"What could you possibly want?" Xavier huffed, folding his arms over his chest.
"To follow my leads on the Hyde"
"Well guess what? No Hyde here" His arms flapped his arms in the air in despair.
Silence roamed the air.
"I will find the Hyde"
"I hope you do. Now leave" Xavier pointed to the door, and they exchanged one last look as she exited.
As night fell, Freddie lay on his bed, arms folded behind his head looking up at the ceiling. Clarissa's head rested on his chest looking towards him.
"You have troubles" she declared.
"Alana"
"Of course."
"She's too good for Xavier. I know he's my friend and he has good qualities but…"
"But what… you wouldn't be friends with him if he wasn't a good person Freddie" Clarissa was stroking his arm lightly to be reassuring.
"I know"
"I just don't think you're ready for your sister to be noticed by people. I think Xavier would protect her at all costs"
"I need a way to help her see sense"
"What sense is that?"
Freddie finally looked down at his girlfriend…his eyes immediately landing on Clarissa's amulet, she followed his eyesight and caught on to his idea.
"Please don't ask me to do that" Clarissa closed her eyes in despair.
"Take it off. Tell her with your siren song that Xavier was seen kissing another girl and telling her how needy and annoying Alana is"
"You can't be serious" Clarissa's head bolted up in shock at just how devious his plan was.
Freddie's face was deadly serious and Clarissa didn't want to disappoint him.
"When your plan backfires…don't blame me." She rolled her eyes and Freddie grabbed her, playfully pulling her on top of him, smothering her forehead with kisses.
"What are you wearing to the Rave'N'?" Freddie asked, releasing some of his grip on Clarissa.
"It's a surprise" She answered, rubbing her nose against his.
"The Rave'N' is only the biggest night of the school calendar year!" Enid gushed at Alana and Wednesday as they entered Ophelia Hall.
"I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than attend this meaningless dance" Wednesday spoke as she sat at her typewriter. Enid stuck her tongue out behind Wednesday's back and turned to Alana.
"I can assume you'll be going? Yes?" Enid told Alana not allowing her to turn down the invite.
"Of course. It will be great to see everyone having a nice time"
"See Wednesday…" Enid elongated her 'see' to try and encourage Wednesday to have a positive outlook on the dance.
A blunt "No" came from Wednesday's lips causing Enid to huff and flop onto her bed.

Chapter 2
Xavier Thorpe x O/C
Tumblr media
Having telekinesis was a blessing and a curse. Right now… flinging Xavier across the hall and onto the floor was a curse. I panicked when Xavier made me jump so I instantly reacted with force…it's a bad habit. I dashed over to Xavier who was looking confused and rubbing the back of his neck. I crouched down beside him, my hands shaking as they hovered above him trying to figure out where to place them to help him.
"Ouch" Xavier mumbled.
"Is that how you greet everyone?' Xavier laughed and looked up at me through the strands of his hair.
"Only the ones that startle me…" I replied with a smile forming my lips. Xavier took my hand and hoisted himself up, flipping his hair out of his face. I observed Xavier, closely taking in his facial features, a long chiselled jawline that accentuated when he smiled made him utterly beautiful.
"Knowing your brother I probably should have known better"
"I'm sorry" I was genuinely apologetic.
"You've got a force to you as well" Xavier added referring to mine and my brother's powers. I looked down as he was still holding my hand that he used to help himself up, his thumb tracing soothing circular movements. Xavier caught on to what I was looking at and gently removed his hand from mine.
"It's great to meet you in person you know instead of behind a phone for like three seconds before your brother yells at us for saying hi"
"You know Freddie won't like you talking to me…after dark in the corridors." My voice was soft and quiet.
"Freddie is one of my best mates but that doesn't mean I can’t like and talk to his sister…does it?"
I shrugged my shoulders…did he mean like as in 'oh yeah..you're a likeable girl' or 'I fancy you?'
"Why are you mooching around after dark anyway?" I walked away to sit on a stone ledge that looked out amongst the well-kept garden, I brought my legs to my chest and cuddled myself trying to keep all my body heat seeing as the chill from the wind was blowing into my direction. As Xavier walked over to meet me and sit closely next to me, he unzipped his blue hoodie and wrapped it over my shoulders. Our eyes met for a glance before his eyes trailed down my face slowly and landed on my lips. My own eyes had done the same and when I looked back into his eyes he was there ready to meet mine.
"Thank you" I warmly replied to which Xavier grinned.
"Don't mention it little Stark" Stark being my surname and little because I was the youngest… It was cute.
"My art studio is around the corner on the grounds… Mrs Weems allows me to use it when I need to. Especially when I need to release my frustrations"
"You paint?"
"Paint, draw…make a mess. There's a lot you don't know about me"
He was right, I hardly knew anything about Xavier. I'd only ever said hello in passing on the phone.
"I'd love to stop by your studio at some point and see your work" the moon was bright but barely enough light to see the faint smile on his lips.
"I bet you would" I couldn't tell if he was flirting with me or just making a joke but I unfolded my legs from my chest letting my feet dangle down each side of the small wall, scooted closer to Xavier and zipped up his hoodie trying to deter him from looking at my cheeks that were blushing. Xavier was charming not because he was flirty which I'm sure he could be but charming because he was tranquil and warm, quiet with that stereotypical bad boy look that could lure any girl into his snare.
"What do you paint?"
"Mainly portraits…"
"I could paint you..."
The sound of faint voices and giggling in the distant hallways alerted both myself and Xavier and interrupted our conversation.
"I should leave…" I quickly moved away from Xavier and leapt up from the wall jogging away.
Xavier watched as Alana disappeared… he sighed heavily at her departure something about her was intoxicating to him almost like she was his muse. As the voices reached closer Xavier could make out the figures of Freddie and Clarissa who were holding hands. Xavier jumped up from his seat and approached the two.
"Breaking the rules?" Xavier asked with a sarcastic tone. Freddie draped his arm over Xavier's shoulder and encouraged him to join their slow-paced walk.
"Just about to say goodbye that's all…" Freddie kissed Clarissa and watched her walk up the big wooden staircase.
"What are you doing out… and where is your hoodie?" Freddie noticed Xavier looking unusual without it.
"Just wandering and pondering…I left it in the studio" Xavier lied, not wanting to tell Freddie what was going on.
The boys continued their walk up to their dorm.
"I'm already hearing people talk about Alana… I knew her presence would enrage me. I'm trying to keep my telekinesis under control." Freddie was clearly explaining how protective he was feeling about his sister.
"I'm sure she can handle herself bro, focus on you" Xavier replied feeling slightly uncomfortable knowing he'd just spent time with Alana.
"I know but the boys that like her, will take advantage of her" Freddie said through gritted teeth.
It was true boys did always find themselves drawn to Alana for her looks however what Xavier felt was completely different.
A week passed and Alana was making waves for two reasons, firstly for being the prettiest girl at Nevermore and secondly for being the nerdiest girl at Nevermore. She was due to attend her first extracurricular school activity. As she was making her way along the corridors she was hearing the Nevermore gossip. Another normie had been brutally murdered by a feral and ferocious beast. She walked past Wednesday and Enid who were having their own in-depth conversation about the incident. Walking across the quad Alana stopped as she found her brother and his friends. Freddie's friends instantly stopped chattering. Some of the girls looked her up and down judging her for being far more beautiful than they were and a handful of boys were roaming her body with their eyes.
"Are you not meant to be at an extra curricular?" Alana asked, tapping her brother on the shoulder. Freddie turned around towering over his sister, his friends sniggered at her question. Freddie turned to look back at his friends, his face a scowl for laughing at his sister.
"I don't do everything you're supposed to do" Freddie took his sister away from the group and towards a bench where he sat her down.
"I see… you're in the popular social circle"
"Too cool to follow the rules Freddie?"
"Something like that. Look, stay focused on you Alana, don't worry about me. I'm worrying about you"
"Am I an inconvenience here Freddie?" Alana asked, a little twang of pain in her voice.
"No…kind of… people are talking about you Alana" Freddie observed you a little closer and furrowed his eyebrows expressing confusion.
"Is that… Xavier's hoodie?"
"What do you mean people are talking?"
"Don't change the topic"
"You're the one changing it Freddie! What have I done for people to talk"
"You're the opposite of me sis. You're a goody two shoes and stick to the rules. I have a reputation here. Also, you're too pretty… my friends will want to use you to satisfy themselves. "
"A goody two shoes? I wasn't a goody two shoes when I was breaking curfew the other night with Xavier…" Alana blurted out in a moment of frustration, her hands cupping her mouth to stop her blabbering.
"So it is Xavier's hoodie! I'm going to kil-"
"No!" Alana used her telekinesis to move Freddie back a step.
"Did you just use your power on me?!" Freddie opened his mouth in shock.
"Yes! You need to calm down!"
"I'm going to pretend like you didn't just do that" He pointed at her disapprovingly.
"Whatever Freddie. Come find me when you're ready to stop being a jerk towards your own sister" Alana barged past her brother and stormed towards the target range where Xavier stood shooting a bow and arrow. His hair was scraped back in a low bun. Xavier had already been observing Alana in her heated conversation with her brother when he noticed her walking across in an annoyed manner, he looked away before it looked too obvious. However he did notice how she had chosen to wear his hoodie. Alana stood next to Xavier, picked up a bow and arrow and aimed for the target… her arrow hitting the blue outer circles of the board.
"You okay Alana?"
"He's a jerk…"
"Who? Freddie?" Xavier asked, taking a quick look over his shoulder to see Freddie who had gone back to his circle of friends looking in their direction, intently staring. Although they were friends Xavier didn't always like the other people Freddie chose to hang out with, he was closer to Ajax than he was Freddie.
"Yes Xavier, Freddie!" Alana snapped, getting another arrow. Xavier stood behind Alana, her back was pressed against him as he brought her into him. He guided her arm up that was holding her bow… his face buried into her neck as he looked through her vision to help her aim. Alana was startled at first but instantly relaxed as his hands were placed on top of hers helping to keep the bow steady.
"Pull back" Xavier whispered in Alana's ear and so she did.
"Release"
The arrow was deadly as it smacked into the centre of the target, Xavier was still in close proximity with Alana who was smiling at her success.
"Perfect shot" Xavier softly mumbled, his hands unknowingly to him had settled on her hips. It must have felt natural for them to have not noticed as if it was comfortable. Looking out of her peripheral vision she managed to catch a glance of Xavier who was already staring back at her. Alana slowly turned around and created a gap between the two of them.
"You'll get used to him. He does choose to hang out with some jerks. It's better to steer clear at those times. But he cares about you"
"He only cares that I'm tarnishing his popularity by actually caring about being here"
"Don't worry about it Alana" Xavier's corners of his lips curled up into a smile.
"Thank you for… well everything since I got here" Alana removed Xavier's hoodie and handed it back to him. Xavier looked past Alana and towards Freddie who was sulking. The two were interrupted by Wednesday and Enid asking Alana if she would like to visit Jericho with them to which Alana accepted.
When Alana was out of sight Freddie walked over to Xavier who was concentrating on shooting. He grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around once his bow was free.
"Please don't Xavier"
"Don't what?"
"Ruin my sister. She doesn't need trouble."
"Gosh bro, you need to stop being so confusing towards her. You don't want her to ruin your rep but you won't let her make her own choices."
"I saw the way you were holding her, you like her"
"Whatever man. I've gotta get back to practice."
"I mean it Xavier."
Xavier kicked over a bucket of arrows in vexation and headed for his studio.

Chapter 1
Xavier Thorpe x O/C
Tumblr media
Joining Nevermore was never part of Alana's parent's plan… but here they were dropping her off at the Academy. Alana's mum Kate, a blubbering mess, was clinging to her daughter utterly distraught at the thought of her only daughter being away from home. Alana's father Gilly was constantly trying to make space between Kate and Alana so they could leave. The two parents had hoped the powers their family possessed would skip a generation but both of their children inherited their father's telekinesis.
Thankfully Principal Weems offered a tissue and guided Kate back to her car not before she was able to look up at her son Freddie who stood on his balcony peering down at his family. Kate blew him a kiss to which he smiled in response. Alana stood with her dad embracing him for the final time. She too made eye contact with her brother, they shared a devilish smile, a smile that spoke a thousand words… how happy they were to be reunited. Though Alana did quickly avert her gaze to two boys who stood on either side of Frankie who she recognised from conversations over facetime with her brother. One boy, Ajax, stood with his hands in his blazer pockets and a blue beanie covering all his snakes for hair. The other boy, Xavier was slouched leaning on the balcony, arms folded intently watching her with a smirk. She observed his sandy brown hair as he ran his fingers through it pushing it back, never once breaking eye contact. He stood up placing his hands in the pockets of his blue hoodie that he wore underneath his blazer. Alana had always seemed to be drawn to Xavier, she was attracted to him and she felt that in the times they had seen each other and communicated there were some unspoken words… he made her stomach flutter rapidly.
The colour blue seemed to be the schools favourite to her dismay…it represents sadness to her. Pastel colours were a palate Alana enjoyed or a simple black and grey combo worked well. Her staring was interrupted as Gilly pulled away from her and his comforting fatherly hands lay on her shoulders.
"Darling. If there is anything you need. We are a phone call away" one hand moved to her cheeks as he reassured her. Alana smiled, she was feeling confident and ready to begin her journey.
"I know dad, I have Freddie too… just take care of mum yeah?" Alana replied with her own hand resting on her fathers, she guided it away and closed their hands together into a fist before giving it a quick kiss and letting it go.
"Always darling" Gilly looked up the building of Nevermore finding his son grinning down at him, Gilly subtly nodded his head towards his son gesturing in acknowledgement. Freddie gave a three fingered quick salut and exchanged a smile with his father. Gilly turned his back on his children and returned to his car to give principal Weems one last handshake and leave the grounds of Nevermore Academy.
The clicks of principal Weems' heels averted Alana's attention to her as the principal towered of the seventeen year old.
"Wonderful people your parents" She gleamed, the red lipstick she wore popping against her stunningly white teeth.
"Indeed Principal Weems. However, I do feel lucky as I may have the potential freedom here to explore." Alana was excited to test her powers, train her strength and most importantly meet new people. Alana was average in height for a girl her age, with healthy and shiny black waist-length hair with side bangs. Her cherry clear lip gloss dazzled her full lips and her long eyelashes accentuated her already mesmerising clear blue ocean eyes. Her beauty was incredible, her pale skin was like that of a porcelain doll, and Alana looked delicate to the touch. Her opulence never fazed her as what mattered most to her was what was inside a person.
Alana was immediately approached by two girls and although they chatted as they made their way over their style made it seem as though they were complete opposites in life.
"You must be Alana? I'm Enid" The girl who was smiling from ear to ear as they approached spoke first. Enid wore a pink fluffy coat, which looked so soft Alana definitely wanted to borrow it.
"I've heard so many great things about you from Freddie, Enid. It's so great to finally meet everyone in person!" Alana replied, pulling Enid into a friendly squeeze. Alana looked over to the girl next to Enid still wearing a smile. The girl did not smile, blink or look away. She wore the school uniform but in a black version and long black braids draped over her shoulders.
"I'm Wednesday. I'm sure you'll find Nevermore just as enchanting as I do when finding dead rats in the library bookshelves. Also not a hugger."
Alana raised her eyebrows in surprise and giggly snorted amused by Wednesday's introduction.
"Noted. It's a pleasure to meet you, Wednesday."
Her room was spacious, without a roommate. Alana's attention was distracted from her colorful stained glass circular window that looked out onto the school quad to her door as the gold-plated handle was slowly turning, revealing Freddie behind the door. Like a gust of wind, Alana bolted over to her brother, engulfing him in a hug, and wrapping her arms around his chest. Freddie gripped back enjoying a quick hug before peeling her off him.
"They kicked you out too huh?" Freddie questioned Alana, her smile for the first time today dropped and let her eyes roll.
"Yes. But…" Alana was interrupted by her brother's stifled laugh.
"Hey! It's not funny…I had one moment of anger and I may… or may not have lost control and hurled the entire classroom's tables and chairs at another student. The first chair I did throw…the rest kinda followed along with my mind."
"Never change sis" Freddie patted her on the back as he walked past and began to look at his sister's belongings. A light wooden framed picture of their grandma and grandpops caught his attention.
"Gosh! They were amazing people weren't they?" Freddie gushed.
"Indeed. I miss them"
"Me too" Freddie set the photo on Alana's bedside table and perched himself on the edge of her bed. Freddie's expression changed from excitement to looking solemn.
"What's wrong?" Alana spoke softly, noticing her brother's shift in mood. Freddie looked up from the ground, Alana watched as her clothes exited her suitcase and hung and folded themselves neatly in the wardrobes and drawers. She wasn't doing it with her telekinesis so it must have been Freddie.
"Freddie?'
"There is some real trouble happening in Jericho…please don't get involved." Freddie stood up from the bed and began walking towards the door.
"What kind of trouble?"
"And no boys either! Especially my lot" Freddie avoided her previous question.
"Not fair!" Alana yelled out as her brother vanished.
After settling into her room at Nevermore Alana took the rest of the evening to try and familiarise herself with the building by wandering the halls and rooms. The rules of Nevermore were constricting. Boys and Girls couldn't mix after dark on site… trips to Jericho the town where Nevermore resides must be approved and considered a privilege. Alana found herself standing in front of a statue made of stone, holding a book, her fingertips traced the cold stone when a voice from beyond scared her, jolting her to turn around and come face to face with Xavier.
