Wren looks like a little green bean 🫛

Couldn't resist making Delta hot, with her shirt slightly unbuttoned just how Jade likes it and a loose tie. I noticed that I forgot her gloves which actually pretty important but uhhhhh sorry 🙈

My girl tile..... 💛💛💛 Honestly I should've put a bit more effort into her dagger but I'm not super good with inanimate objects yet sorry 💔 I know the canon names her in a plain jeans and a black T-shirt for the quest but I couldn't resist the iconic bungaree dress.

Mittelgroßer Elvin looks so weird but I had to do it. There's truly nothing between those ears, either.

I don't know what it is about this uniform but it makes Kyra, specifically, look like a chef. It was even worse before I colored her in.

What can I say about Laure? I started drawing her in a ponytail before I remembered that these are for Inner Shadow specifically. I'm very happy that (in my opinion) I conveyed her goth vibes even while she's wearing this preppy ass outfit.

Anyone remember the era where Agnes walking around in her fancy Queen dress and her little crown? Honestly it's so adorable, and I remember when I used to always draw her with it. This dagger is a bit more intricate than Tillys because I already designed it before for the Agnes sketches for Wills birthday^^

Turis' outfit was also free real estate - and Fir's dad is also more laid back which does fit him as well. I knew for sure that I wanted to give him some sort of floral pattern, and I just love this pink on him. I think it really fits him!

The track suit colors weren't all stated, so I gave Acorn blue because he's calm and intelligent. You know, color theory^^

The fucking burglar outfit looks so silly on Blake and I don't know why, because it looks completely fine on Soleya. Sad life, I guess.

Mikesh is so small... honestly I'm still debating making his hair a little darker? Thoughts?

Hello! I'm Lace. Also Wally and Wallace. I love nicknames. It's a trans thing. Remaking this because the old one was long and outdated.

I'm just about thirty, queer as fuck, and use they/them and he/him pronouns. I'm also multiply disabled and chronically ill, and I talk about being autistic and anxious a lot!

In a very long-term relationship with @thetiniestnerd, who I make breakfast for most days.

My Writing

Typically adult or new adult.

Genres: science fiction, fantasy, science fantasy, urban fantasy, romance, mystery, thriller, that sorta thing. V much a genre blender.

Currently have two main wips and a third universe sandbox I like to play in a lot: TMI, Starkyda, and Beurkratti in that order. See below.

Focused a lot on queer and disabled characters and narratives

My WIPs

The Metahuman Initiative

An urban fantasy/science fiction series focused on people with superpowers, known as metahumans, within a massive, high-tech city specifically designed to study them.

Main characters are Nat Carter, Rini Callaghan, and Marlowe Hierro.

After being released from prison, six months after the murder of their family, Nat is given a new home in the Callaghan Institute, where they race aggressive and suspicious police officers to find the true killer of their family and get the closure they need, whatever it might be, before the cops decide Nat is their real target.

At the Institute, Rini, Professor Callaghan's adoptive daughter, takes poorly to Nat's arrival, and to try and alleviate the problem, the professor assigns Rini to find a mysterious and terrified metahuman that just arrived in the city - Marlowe, who currently has no idea who they are or what to do.

But Veda has a lot more going on than can be seen on the surface, and as the three of them delve deeper, the horrors and truth of Veda City, and how it connects to each of them, begin to show themselves.

Starkyda

A steampunk/science fantasy series focused on multiple groups of people vying for control of a floating island on the edge of the apocalypse. Some groups include dragon riders at a fascist military academy, criminals in the literal underbelly of the city, council members and politicians with their own agendas, and a farmer and midwife who just wants to go home.

Main characters are: many.

For three hundred years, the Blight has pushed out from the massive breach at the bottom of the ocean and infected not just the waters, but the entire world. Now, as the inhabited islands become the next target for the Blight to swallow up, a beacon of hope is appearing on the island closest to destruction: Tairkyda.

Saoirse Cuirc is thirteen years old when she declares to the statues of the gods that she is a girl, not the son so many believe, and becomes the first person in three hundred years to see the Goddess.

And the first person in history to be Chosen to wield the mortal portion of her power.

Now, six years later, at nineteen, Saoirse is entering Tairkyda's mandatory military academy alongside her best friend, Lucian, and their freshly hatched dragons. But Saoirse isn't the only outsider, this year, and it's clear that most of those in power don't want any of them here.

Jules, who found a dragon egg one morning while doing chores, is a midwife and a farmer who just wants to go home, but the rare power of their dragon, and the strength of their bond, means Jules isn't going anywhere. Not if they want to have somewhere to return to, at least.

And Wren Hashimoto, who has spent years fighting against the belief that they are weak and frail, and who takes the opportunity of a dragon and a chance to bear their teeth to show just how ferocious they can be, without help.

Both of them will soon find themselves with far more power than they've ever known, and far more responsibility than they've ever wanted.

The three of them form the triad of Chosen who will lead the rest to save the world. But how do you stop a vicious, alien fungus from the ocean? How do you unite a people who are determined to hate you? How do you save a world that wants to hurt you so they can take your power and save it their way, instead?

And how do you create a home you actually want to return to, rather than the patriarchal, fascist regime that has led Tairkyda for centuries?

Beurkratti

A sprawling, epic fantasy with urban fantasy and science fantasy elements - a genre blend of a world inspired by the 80s - taking place in a world of many, fantastic creatures, oodles of queerness, and at least one apocalyptic level threat a month.

Following many characters, Beurkratti is a series about friendship and connection, about mystery and intrigue, and about how the search for information in the past can lead to great things in the future.

We drop into Beurkratti right as the apocalyptic level threats are starting to get worse than usual, and the Wardens, keepers of peace and safety around the world, start trying to bring things down to normal and see what changed.

From this, we follow dozens of characters across many different stories, including Katya, a half-orc Warden with chronic pain and a service shoulder dragon who travels Beurkratti looking for answers to the inevitable decay of the mind all Wardens suffer, as well as helping out wherever she can.

And if she comes across a brothel or two along the way - hey, bonus!

Well I can't stop thinking about if Apple's Spirited was actually done on Broadway with Broadway actors so have a fancast

Disclaimer: This is literally just actors I like and know are currently active. There is very little thought put into this beside "ooo I love this voice and think it would fit the role p well." Feel free to dispute and brainstorm further in the reblogs/tags, but like there is genuinely 4% thought put into this, lmao.

Present (Will Farrell) - Jonathan Groff

The heart and soul of the show. Requires strong acting, strong vocals, and a stunning sense of humor. Honestly maybe this is just me being a simp but like I fully think he would have a gotdamn blast dressed up in Scrooge makeup for the 1800s scene and no one can convince me otherwise.

Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) - Jeremy Jordan

This is it, the entire reason I made this fan cast. Just. Imagine Jeremy Jordan singing Bringin' Back Christmas. The same energy as Ready As I'll Ever Be, and also as The World Will Know from Newsies??? Like, that's barely anything, and he's perfect.

Kimberly (Octavia Spencer) - Khaila Anyé Wilcoxon

Yeah okay I did sadly feel like I needed to slightly de-age Kimberly to match the younger form of Present; my original casting was NaTasha Yvette Williams and she would still slay this so hard, but like. Consistency, ya know? And besides, Khaila is STUNNING, fr; her performance as Catherine of Aragon is a testament to her skills alone, but if you want proof of her ability to sing gently as well as to Belt Like All Hell as she does in Six, then I will just direct you kindly to her role as one of the Fates in Hadestown; girl SLAYS! (Alternate pick: Renée Elise Goldsberry, because I can just HEAR her sing these songs.)

Jacob Marley (Patrick Page) - Patrick Page

I mean. Come on. Even if he hadn't played this role already, he originated Hades in Hadestown. No one can top this guy.

Past (Sunita Mani) - Solea Pfeiffer

Hadestown haunts the cast again, but like, come on. She's so good, no one can tell me no.

Yet-to-Come (Tracy Morgan) - Michael James Scott

IDK something about his energy as Genie just translates really well to this role to me. (Alternatively, the Beetlejuice energy of Alex Brightman would give a REALLY fun twist to it, especially if the director decided to lean into YTC as a comic relief character, but the energy is just off enough I wanna stick to the source material for now.)

Wren (Marlow Barkley) - Isabella Esler

Okay to be completely honest am I pretty much just pulling a random Lydia Deets out of a hat since they're like the only consistent kid actresses I can find? Maybe, lmao. That said, having heard her sing, she's GOOD fam! I think she could pull Wren really well!

Owen (Joe Tippett) - Justin Collette

Okay, so once again, he happens to be a Beetlejuice star, but the vibe check here really comes from his role in School of Rock! It's the same sort of offbeat-person-with-a-heart-of-gold vibe as Owen has in the movie, and like with him also playing the Beetlejuice to Isabella's Lydia, I think they'd do great as dad and daughter on stage. Alternatively, Will Burton (who played Adam in the same cast) would also be a great pick, but gives off some more panicky vibes that I don't feel are as great of a match to Owen.

Carrie (Andrea Anders) - Michaela Diamond

If you've seen her video on her favorite song from NYT, you Know the vibes.

ASHER

Asher is Sylvie's older brother, the oldest of Gen 6. Asher has an interesting backstory. His biological mother (Cleo) was the older sister of Marlowe, my Gen 5 heir, and Asher's adoptive mother. Cleo woohooed with Marlowe's boyfriend Judd in high school and thus, Asher was born. Cleo was a not-so-great person, but she started to come around when she found out she was having Asher. Unfortunately for both Cleo and Asher, Cleo died shortly after Asher aged up into an infant. Asher's father was not present, so Marlowe adopted him, and later her husband Kai did as well. Asher dated Wren Grove for most of his teenagedom but found him too boring. Asher is now married to Wolfgang (Munch) and has a daughter with him named Demi. Asher works in the Athlete career and chooses to ignore Wolfgang's less traditional criminal occupation.

A Prologue Nobody Asked For - Chapter 1

Another scrap of fanfiction for the wonderful If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio; how I think James and Oliver may have met. I suppose my fascination with the Dellecher Seven has earned them an indelible place in my heart.

Perhaps it didn’t matter how you introduced yourself to a soulmate, so long as you did.

“You’re so bony.” Oliver turned, instinctively curling in on himself to escape a beating. He didn’t expect the dimpled, lopsided grin on the other boy’s face. If possible, James was handsome even then, somehow bypassing the awkward pimple-cheeked teenage phase that everyone else around him suffered.

Oliver thought he ought to act offended to avoid being thought a pushover, though he wasn’t bothered, not really. He absently touched his left shoulder, fingering the pointy protruding bone. James was only telling the truth, was he not?

As he vacillated, taking too long to decide, James pushed on, “What’s your pace?”

They were eighteen, two in a sea of Dellecher first years with starry-eyed optimism. Optimism, Oliver would look back in retrospect, was precisely their problem. Most had come in expecting lessons on how to strut down red carpets, sign six-figure checks, and hide from overzealous paparazzi. Instead, they were hit in the face with tome-sized scripts and Gwendolen’s chilling stare. Sure, they were all theatre kids, the best or at least the most Shakespeare-obsessed of their respective high schools, but most of them had acted in one or two Shakespeare productions at best, dumbed-down and modernized for the audience’s convenience. In short, they had no idea what they were getting into.

First-year fitness training consisted of lapping around the periphery of the grounds every morning, and a dreaded timed mile — two and three-quarters of a lap — every Thursday.

"Each successive time must be within 30 seconds of the last, or a redo is obligatory." Camilo had announced a few minutes into their first class. By Oliver’s conjecture, the only reason Camilo had them running laps instead of accidentally punching in each other’s noses in mock combat or prancing through a musical theatre number (both more practical for a would-be actor and dare he say it, more exciting), was that there were simply too many of them to supervise. Prestigious as the school was, it was not rich.

“I-I got a sub-6 last time.” He stuttered. “But that was probably a fluke.” He felt the need to tack on.

“Want to run together?” He looked over James’ shoulder to his friends, a lanky prep from upstate New York, a wiry, loudmouthed Asian with a buzzcut, and a pale girl, slightly pudgy, with a heart-shaped face white-blond hair. The boys side-eyed him with raised eyebrows, clearly wondering why James Farrow, who’d within the first weeks established himself as top dog of the freshman class, was talking to a nobody. The girl, for her part, just looked curious.

They had their merits. Dennis knew the classics (not only Shakespeare, but Marlowe, Homer, and Tennyson too) better than anyone; he crammed an allusion into every sentence he uttered just to make sure others did too. Joel had a comedic streak about him and managed to sidestep any potential mockery for his slowness with clownery flamboyant enough to force Frederick to hide smiles behind his teacup. Wren, with her wide doe eyes and pale porcelain skin, made a perfectly dainty damsel in distress. None of them, however, couldn't run a sub-6 mile.

If James topped the first-year class after years of rigorous training on the high school track team, Oliver kept up a close second due to spending the majority of his school career running from bullies with a half-swallowed wad of lunch money in his throat. It didn't matter how you got there, so long as you crossed the finish line.

He shrugged, which James took as a yes.

“I’m James by the way.” I know.

“Oliver.”
