After Herr Silber met an untimely end recently, thanks to an extremely unwise attempt at nomming on a stray rubber glove? (Would have done much better to stick to that cat food. 😩)

Our new floor cleaning buddy finally arrived today!

Herr Silber preferred to lurk against the wall under the kitchen table, but the new guy quite specifically wanted to stay out in the open. So, at least for the moment, they've set up camp out in the hallway. Right next to some floor crud, of course.

This one is completely app controlled (via WiFi), and of course was a bit of a PITA to get set up at the start. Still getting used to it, but they had a bit of a test run after a charging nap.

So far it looks like this one should do a better job, if anything, even without trying the damp cleaning function yet. (Which is an extra good thing, considering the price difference!)

Bigger dust cup, and they can keep going much longer between naps. With the optical sensors and way better sense of direction, our new friend has also had a much easier time finding their way back home to sleep it off. Hasn't been needing anywhere near the level of drunksitting and ditect intervention so far, even though they're still getting used to the layout around here. Hopefully they'll remember it pretty well before long.

A relief to get some robo-help with the floors again around here, that's for sure! 😄 Still need to get to know this one better before deciding on a name.

The thing about being someone like me who's basically pattern recognition software...

...you have quite a few options for hobbies you can be good at.

Because, when trying a new thing... even if you've never been trained on any datasets specifically ABOUT this thing... you've likely been trained on something close enough to analogize.

And youve got a low threshold for "close enough to analogize." If there's ONE thing you're truly skilled at, in the highest percentile, it's analogizing-- finding similarities-- that's the heart of pattern recognition.

...which is to say, I have never actually learned how to mount a secondhand TV monitor that didn't come with any mounting hardware

but I have learned a crapton of yarncrafts, and I have a roll of strong-ass paracord

Can it be revived?

Bibliogram is open source, and it is still excellent code to build on top of, since it has the interface design, the post models, and the structures set up to perform several workarounds.

All that is needed to make it work is a function in collectors.js or body.js to access the data in the new format.

More Instagram workarounds are definitely possible due to its code still being dogshit, but I don't have the energy to look for more workarounds myself.

Yes, Bibliogram can be revived. But I won't be the one to make it happen.

Why is Bibliogram discontinued?

I'll try to document here the phases that I went through, but I might have forgotten some of those phases.

Don't panic: I am not documenting any of the currently working workarounds, only the past ones which are useless except for historical interest.

It baffles me that I've seen people say "Alastor is canonically sex and touch repulsed" as a reason people "shouldn't" be shipping Alastor sexually/romantically.

Why assume that the sex repulsion applies to every relationship in his life, permanently? Some aces are sex favorable, or may develop more favorable feelings for specific people, even if otherwise repulsed.

And the same applies to touch repulsion. That's such a weak argument. Alastor canonically, and very clearly, is okay with or possibly even enjoys touch in specific situations. He does seem to be touch repulsed in general, but again, there are specific people it doesn't apply to. (Rosie is the best example, since with anyone else it is more brief, but Rosie touches him, and is the one initiating that, frequently.)

All types of attraction, or comfort levels with different manners of affection, are fluid. This isn't ever an excuse to invalidate real people who are telling you their identities, but it does mean that assumptions really can't be made about what a person would or wouldn't do.

And this type of thinking is what really leads to invalidating real people, because even if you think "being asexual means never having sexual attraction," and then an ace person shares that they think they might have experienced sexual attraction at some point but still identify as ace... then you have to be open to that. You cannot put sexualities in boxes. This applies to all sexualities.

I'm a fictive of Alastor myself, and I am sex repulsed, so I understand the discomfort, but I also understand that people are not harming any real, living person by making fanworks where Alastor is having sex. It also doesn't mean they're inherently rejecting his asexuality.

If people want to ignore Alastor being aroace completely, that's different. Alastor is canonically aroace (or asexual at minimum), and he always will be. But jumping to conclusions about what people think because you're too naive and stubborn to understand that sexuality and attraction doesn't fit into tidy little boxes is harmful and is a way of thinking that must be changed.

This became longer than intended because I was mostly thinking about the "Alastor is touch repulsed to everyone!" claims some people make, which are frankly incompatible with canon. But the rest of this post is also true.

(audio starts 10s in) i've been casually collecting some cd singles mostly for the artwork and the novelty of it all tbh, but i got this and never knew there was a "guitars down" version of sugar :0 upon listening it seems the biggest differences with this vs the album version are:

the instrumentals/sustained controlled feedback that usually plays behind the prechoruses is also used between the chorus and the 2nd verse, over the normal chuggy riff

the backing vocal harmonies in the chorus seem to be significantly brought forward which sounds STUNNING, easily the highlight of this version

anyone else find raurus arm .. another thing, funny how the enigma stones are supposedly enhancing whatever powers someone already had, bc other than ganondorf none really gain anything, they act like they achieved some new power level (and suddendly know how to do it as soon as they have the stone) but then its just a silent ghost copy of themselves and they gain ... nothing but some jewelry, i find that a little .. underwhelming? and strange bc why does gan get a nuclear power upgrade and they print a bad copy of themselves and its treated like the same thing (i know its gan and he kinda deserves to get more out of it but do you know what i mean?)

cant help but also feel like its not even .. related to their own ability, like at all, istn it supped to enhance THEIR power, what does a ghost copy have to do with water magic? (wouldnt that more be sth of the shiekah/yiga .. creating copies of yourself?) if anything its something for link to gain .. i guess? or raurus arm i suppose? wouldnt it have been great if they all had a weaker version of the ability at the start and AFTER they gain the stone it gets upgraded, or its like it now is and after the they get their stone its stronger, like maybe rijus is as normal but then when she has the stone it charges faster and doesnt get canceled if she gets knocked over (assuming the way to control the ability stays the same ... which i wouldnt want bc that is so bad to control even if you change it like this) and giving link access to it is just PART of the stones power and not literally all it is

backing up all my files with onedrive broke all my vba scripts that used ThisWorkbook.path AND my powershell scripts that used -path and Out-file, so now i'm in hell

i tried using this for my vba scripts but once i import it i can't seem to call it at all so it does me no good, i might be too stupid for that workaround
