wolfwren au idea im cooking up

wolfwren x hunger games au where shin is a career tribute and sabine is from district 8 (textiles) and they are both reaped into the same games (shin volunteers). they fall in love during the training week but sabine doesnt join the careers after shin offers, rather choosing to stay with ezra, her district partner. sabine, ezra and shin and a few other are all thats left when shin and sabine run into each other, they fight, shin annoyed that sabine chose ezra over her, but she doesnt kill sabine. one of the other careers left goes to kill sabine but shin stops them, killing them herself and the other career. her and sabine run off together back to ezra and the three join together and wait for the other tributes to kill each other. eventually its just them and another left, they find them and fight but ezra gets seriously wounded, sabine kills the tribute in her fury. ezra dies shortly after, shin and sabine are the only ones alive. they admit they dont want to live without one another and they pull a peeta and katniss but are stopped before either of them die. they are both crowned victor. the gays win

Wolfwren Week 2023: Day 5 Band/Musician AU

I was thinking about the cover for Dua's new single, "Houdini," but that tongue thing was gonna be hard! In its place are parts Beck Hyperspace, and one Steely Dan album, cuz the title was irresistible. Colored and marbled 180gm LPs and EPs only, pls.

So Sabine got into a little substance abuse in high school, and musicianship and voice lessons helped with her recovery. Shin, the love of Sabine's life (obv), tinkered with guitars, her dad's Roland, and marinated in a vat of co-dependency until one of them had to leave for college.

They both grew up, glowed up and signed a 2-album deal with Universal after Shin graduated. They now live happily in Provincetown when they aren't on tour, and have a saluki, a husky and a tabby named Murley. Shin is still obsessed with DJ Spooky and developed an Hermès habit when the royalties kicked in. (She is the very proud owner of two Kellys, a Birkin in ostrich, and a vintage, oversized canvas one she got in Antwerp for 650 EUR after a gig. That's the story she gave Sabine anyway—and the price goes down with every telling.)

The also share a shrink, a Dr Huyang, who was born in British Hong Kong. He drives out from Boston once a month.

I have it on good authority that this chapter killed several people 😭

Excerpt:

Shin tastes like copper. Like blood from a cut. And Sabine is reminded of long-forgotten days from her childhood, of chewing her lip, gnawing and gnawing until she pierces flesh, unable to tear herself away from the compulsion. . .

She is equally unable to tear herself away from Shin.

Shin, who has abandoned her hold on her arms. Whose hands are trembling slightly as they search for a place to settle on Sabine's waist, tugging at her shirt. She doesn't know if it's a good tremble or a bad one. If Shin is quaking with desire, just like her, or if there's something else that has her pulse racing.

And it is this realization that finally sees Sabine regain some control, that slows her kisses. She doesn't pull away, not yet - isn't sure she could bring herself to if she tried - but she catches Shin's hands in hers, holding them steady. Secure in the warmth of her own as she allows a sliver of space to grow between them. . .

Shin exhales against her mouth, a faint gust of disappointment or relief - she's not sure which.

Sabine traces her lips, planting light kisses, gentle dustings around the outside of her mouth. Slowly, the tremor in Shin's hands eases.

And finally Sabine tears herself away.

(but only a fraction. Only enough to speak)

"You okay?"

Shin is silent, her eyes unreadable as they gaze upon her lips - but after a moment she gives a nod, slight and jerky against her face.

Sabine thinks she can trust it.
