i’m new-ish to tumblr (i’ve had a blog since 2017 but barely used it) & brand new to writeblr!

most of my wips are contemporary young/new adult romance with coming-of-age & found family themes, but i’m honestly open to writing anything that piques my interest!

WIP Intro; [Lesbian Lost Boys WIP]

Title: [untitled] but referring to it as the Lost Boys WIP!

Genre: horror, coming of age, light romance, vampires, queer speculative fiction (The Lost Boys meets Aquamarine meets My Best Friend’s Exorcism)

Setting: the fictional city of Santa Vida, California in the year of our lord, 1986

Tropes: vampire lesbian polycule, annoyances to lovers, aggressive flirting, coming of age, leaving for college, family troubles, found family but vampires, newfound freedom, a spooky boardwalk carnival, there's some crime in this one!

Summary: the year is 1986, and Carrie Thompson is working at Cape Carnival in Santa Vida, California. She's about to leave for college, so she has to save up money any way she can, and she's a hard worker! Until, of course, she meets the mysterious stranger Delilah and her gang of hot biker girls. Delilah and the group have always caused trouble at the boardwalk, but is she hiding a mysterious secret that Carrie is destined to figure out? And because of it, will Carrie find somewhere she finally feels like she belongs? And what will her mom have to say about all of this? (this is a terrible summary lol)

Characters:

Carrie Thompson: our protagonist, she's just around 19 and she's ready to leave for college. A hard worker who has no life, is she desperate to get out just because she has no friends? what's going on with this poor girl? expert balloon-blower-upper

Delilah: listen, she LOOKS like she's 19, that's for damn sure. but also she smokes, and she drinks, and she's the coolest girl you've ever seen in your life. Is that blood on her lips or is she just happy to see you?

Esther: Delilah's right hand man. terrifying, the most punk of them all. you don't need to know much about her, because fuck if she'll tell you anything.

Rebekah: is this one even human? oh no. maybe don't piss her off, she does think your insides are intriguing and would want to see what they look on the outside.

Maggie: the sweetest vampire there ever was, feels bad for everyone, including herself. so much love to go around.

Judith: the baby, but not literally. loved by all, irritating to all. attention whore, in the best possible way.

Trials of Avaidia; WIP Intro

Genre: Dark Fantasy

Plot:

Lyssa Leren fought all her life to hide the power she was born with, for being the sin of wrath has more dangers than one knows. After she turns 19 she was supposed to go to the Hellfire temple to meet the other sins, when they were ambushed by Fear, who shattered their visions of a peaceful rule. She and the others must go to Avaidia, save their kingdoms and end a war before all of Avaidia is destroyed.

Main Character

Lyssa Norell Leren (she/her - Leo - Sin of Wrath): With a traumatic past, and being a master assassin, she must learn to accept who she is, take the crown, and save the ones she loves. - Fire manipulation, ??? - Straight/demisexual

Kian Heart (he/him - Aries - Sin of Pride): The badass boy, and a master swordsman who doesn't want you to know his true self, or let others get too close. - Enhanced abilities, ??? - Straight/demisexual

Invidia Moss (she/her - Virgo - Sin of Envy): With the need to be perfect. She must learn to accept herself for who she is and help the people of her kingdom. - Shapeshifting - Bisexual

Marge Woods (they/them - Taurus - Sin of Gluttony): The bubbly sin of gluttony must learn not to let people's words get to them. And they want to grow stronger and show the world that who you are, who you love and what you do doesn't define you. - Illusions - Non-Binary - Lesbian

Elijah Woods (they/them - Pisces - Sin of Sloth): The smart sin of Sloth must overcome obstacles and help the people they love, and show the world that they can do anything. - Induce apathy, teleportation - Non-Binary - Gay

Fraya Smith (she/her - Scorpio - Sin of Lust): As the sin of lust she is a literal goddess. With a hard past life, she must grow past it and learn to put her trust in friends and lovers. - Hypnosis, sense feelings - Pansexual

Avarus Stan (he/him - Sagittarius - Sin of Greed): His life hasn't been completely clean, with a broken family, and other issues. This proper badass kid must learn to heal. - Power drain, alchemy - Straight

Antagonists

Fear: ??? Insiders: People being controlled by fear through the fearlings. Fearlings: Fears minions. They are made of people's fears. They are a grayish-black colour and can float, walk and shapeshift into someone's worst fear.

Finally making this picture into a print so I'm finishing the painting and details. I really enjoy finishing the fabric and the wood. I may have fallen down a rabbit hole doing the illumination on the book, but at least the posters will look fly as hell.

My most recent chapter is in the POV of a new character in Darkling that I've been trying very hard to keep concealed. But for the sake of flow, since this piece is in their POV I'm going to switch out [Redacted] for an intial instead...

E stopped breathing. He turned his head slowly, unwilling to draw attention, as he waited for Andric's control to crack.

"I don't have a good defence, Andric. I can't even say you're entirely wrong," Booker admitted bitterly, shaking his head, and when Andric's fist connected with the stone mantle, E couldn't supress his violent flinch, knee knocking the underside of the dining table as his breath began to speed up and he pressed back into the corner, praying neither of them noticed his barely concealed panic. "I'm waiting for an explanation, not a bloody excuse!" Andric was yelling, and E forced his fingers to curl around the edge of the table. Adding pressure to one finger at a time. 'One, two, three, four. Breathe In. One, two, three, four. Out.'

Hello 🎉! My name is Olivia (feel free to call me Liv)! I am a Black fantasy & romance author who focuses on themes of queer love & longing, sapphic intimacy, generational wounds & complicated familial relationships.

🌹 about my work 🌹

My writing tends to skew towards adult/emerging adult. I LOVE various flavors of fantasy (high, low, urban, action-adventure, Gothic). I like to spend time crafting intricate worlds (lore bibles are some of my favorite things to write) and magic systems.

My favorite works (to write and to read) all include some form of romance. I write romantic love and attraction between all genders, but ladies craving each other carnally is like music to me. LOL. So, some of my work features sexuality/intimacy, but this certainly varies widely from project to project (and I certainly will not be sharing this sort of content on tumblr, for reasons that should be obvious.lol).

I love to include elements of complex relationships in my writing–romantic, platonic, or familial. Human relationships are complicated and messy and awesome and frequently painful–and it’s important to me that my work reflects that.

I try particularly to explore in my work the lives and relationships of queer women of color (particularly Black & biracial women). I am always open to fantasy, romance, and sci-fi recs written by Black authors :)

my main project that explores themes of growing up, loss, grief, forgiveness, and friendship. it follows Alex Ramírez, a seventeen-year-old senior in high school trying to navigate life after the death of his ex-boyfriend and best friend, Wally Fletcher. in the midst of it all, he reconnects with a former fling, Bea Mumford — a now pregnant sixteen-year-old whose boyfriend wants nothing to do with her and the baby — and attempts to earn forgiveness from Wally's little sister, Julia. if you like coming-of-age stories where the teenagers don't pretend to have everything figured out, this wip may be for you!

WIP INTRO; The Unkind Current [the "bog witch wip"]

Title: The Unkind Current

Genre: swamp spooky, magical realism, sort-of-horror, weird fiction, fairytale

Setting: think if the Everglades met the deepest pits of Louisiana but they're definitely out to get you

Tropes: shitty spooky religion, rivals to lovers(??), an unwilling hero, fairytale retelling (kinda), sentient swamp, are-they-actually-in-love?, denying destiny, colonization bad, pls leave nature alone for the love of god

Summary: One hundred years ago, Angharad realized the destruction that her home was causing to her beloved swamp, and chose to ignore it. denying her destiny, she fell into an eternal slumber and let the bog take over. In the present time, Edythe gets called home because her village is being overtaken by the swamp that she has devoted her life to worshipping. Her mission? To go and wake the mythical forest witch and get her help in stopping the swamp from ruining her home. But does Edythe even WANT her home to be saved? And will this forest witch even want to help her?

Characters:

Angharad: a self-proclaimed woman of the bog who chose to devote not just her life, but her body itself, to what lies beneath the currents. She didn't go to sleep because she was trying to avoid responsibility, no, but because she decided that humanity deserved what it was getting. A tall, sinewy woman with tangled brown curls and a large, crooked nose. Appreciates the fungus growing out of her left eye socket and considers it an accessory.

Edythe: your down-home everyday swamp priestess, recently returned from her trip to The City, which she hated. She's not entirely certain why she's the one who was asked to save the village, I mean, after all, hasn't she been devoting her life to a swamp that is supposed to destroy her in the end? Why's it such a bad thing if it does? Edythe is decently short, at least shorter than Angharad, and maybe once had blonde hair, and it would probably be blonde again if she ever deigned to wash it. She seems small, and quaint, but absolutely will ruin you if necessary.

Back décor Barbie house, cause i'm thinking of changing the plan. since I can't load into Tartosa lots wedding lot and community lot. It's weird, cause currently my sim have their vacation there and the hotel lot work fine but the other lot keep crashing and it took too long to load. so yeah..it is what it is..not going to bother much.
