“Part of my job is to visit workplaces to talk to our delegates, members and management. For 10 years I have been coming to this site but have never been to the second floor. I nearly got there when our delegates tried to carry my 150 kg chair up the stairs, but it was not worth potentially causing serious strain injury. Anyway, first time i could get upstairs and into the boardroom. Thanks to our local FOC @ray_wynne for the filming 🖖” - @fest_ability

A note for brides with disability and health issues. It’s difficult to write this as an able bodied person, I’m not pretending understand your history of having to explain things, but please know that everything you share with me will be honoured. In the design of your dress, your fittings and meetings and the making of your dress. If you need to park close I will arrange it (I don’t own parking but I’m sure I can pull some strings at special request), if you need me to help you through the door, if you need me to help you stand for fittings, if you need to take lots of rests during meetings, if you need me to work around you while you sit for fittings. If you intend to stand and walk down the aisle, if you will sit for you ceremony, if you need easy access to administer medicine, if you want to hide medical equipment, if your health means your weight fluctuates, ... everything your dress requires in style and practicality, there’s nothing I can’t do to make it possible for you to wear your dream dress on your wedding day. But please also know, that you’re no different to able bodied brides, every bride has her needs and requests, you’re never asking too much! So, she started a blog and a youtube channel in order to spread awareness on disability related issues and rights. She has given motivational speeches on stage as well.🥰 .
