Disabled joy looks like me zooming down the streets in my powerchair at full speed, fall leaves crunching under my wheels.
18 year old me, sobbing as I was forced to crawl up the ice-coated steps of the local youth homeless shelter, could have never dreamed of this.

Absolutely! I’m so glad that you guys are enjoying these, and I hope that you like this one as well! I’m planning on making some continuations using the various uses that you guys have suggested in your notes, so if there is anything that you want to see, please let me know!

Power Chair version (you are here!)
Wheelchair version
Crutch version
Cane version
White can version
Rollator version
[ID: An image featuring an edited version of the “Why Do We Have Hands” meme. The header says “Why Do We Have Power Chairs?” and is followed by a black and white cartoon image of a power chair. Underneath that reads “There Are Many Reasons”, and just below that is a series of four images with captions. They are all black and white and in a simplified style. The first image is of a person in a power chair. There are musical notes by their head to show that they are singing. The words being sung are “they see me rollin’, they hatin’”. The caption is “always ridin’ dirty”. The image to the right of it depicts a person running over another person with their power chair. The caption is “RUN OVER the ableist.” The third image to the bottom left is a close-up of the joystick of a power chair. The caption is “viddy game stick”. The fourth image to the bottom right is of a person in a power chair at a counter with another person standing behind it. The person standing is depicted as saying “It’s amazing that you can live like this”, while the person in the power chair is depicted as saying “I just want my fucking groceries”. The person in the power chair has a popping vein on their forehead to denote anger. The caption is “be an Inspiration™” /End ID]

Wheelchair =/= small manual chair
If a space doesn't accommodate larger neuro wheelchairs, it's not wheelchair accessible.
If a wheelchair lift has a safe working load that can't handle a heavy electric chair (and person!), it's not accessible.
If doors/ shop aisles are too narrow to fit a larger electric chair, it's not accessible.
If a bus doesn't have room to manoeuvre a large wheelchair, it's not accessible.
If there is any step (even if just a couple of inches) - it doesn't matter that some manual wheelchair users might be able to navigate it - it's not accessible
Not every wheelchair user can use a small manual chair

Can anyone who uses a wheelchair (especially a motorized chair) please explain to me what the process was like to find the right chair?
I live in America and it seems that the doctors just want me to order one online without trying it at all, which seems insane for such a very very specific and very expensive medical device.
In order to find an office chair that didn't hurt my back, I went to every single furniture store in Chicago. So it seems wild that the selection process for something way more expensive and important would be so vague and confusing. I'm really scared that I'll get the wrong one.
How do you get the right wheelchair??????

I really struggle with typing subtitles for my youtube videos as a result of my disabilities, but that isnt an excuse to be inaccessible. I still type subtitles for them, it just takes a bit longer for them to be published, but I go as quick as I can. Typing long things like video transcripts make my hands begin to cramp really badly, and also I just have executive dysfunction. Both of these things make it difficult, but I STILL DO IT.
The reason I'm making this post is to say that if I, as a disabled teenager, can still try my absolute hardest to meet peoples accessibility needs despite it being difficult for me, you as a multimillion dollar corporation most definitely can. You dont want to spend money for us, we are an afterthought. And it's just, honestly, unacceptable.
We need a more accessible world. And no, I'm not talking about JUST RAMPS. Just ramps do not make something fully accessible.
Yeah, ramps do make something more accessible and we absolutely need them, but in order for something to be absolutely fully accessible it needs:
Ramps
Elevators
Braille
Closed captioning
Sign interpreters
Frequently placed electronic charging stations
Wide pathways/doorways
Quiet rooms (preferably sensory rooms)
WiFi
First aid
Staff who are trained in disability PROPERLY
Available wheelchairs
Available ear defenders
Warnings for things that contain strobe lights, loud noises, etc.
And SO MUCH MORE. I get that that's a lot, but you are a massive corporation. You can afford to be accessible, and we deserve to be able to acsess the world. We should not be an afterthought.

nothing more frustrating and embarrassing than almost soiling yourself in public because you’re have a restroom emergency and someone (seemingly able-bodied) is taking their sweet time in the “big stall” talking on the phone
PSA AS IF IT WASN’T OBVIOUS:
THE “BIG STALL” IS THE ONLY PLACE I CAN RELIEVE MYSELF IN PUBLIC
IF YOU USE THE ACCESSIBLE STALL WHEN YOU DON’T ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO, YOU ARE TAKING AWAY ACCESS FROM SOMEONE ELSE
I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR COMFORT, YOU CAN USE ANY OTHER STALL, THERE IS ONLY ONE I CAN USE
i’m feeling so dehumanized right now

As I'm a wheelchair user, and going to meet Ruth Madeley (Shirley Anne Bingham) from Doctor Who at a comic con this weekend, I drew this as a gift for her - I've also printed another to ask her to sign for me to keep. Because I know I'm not the only wheelchair user who is thrilled to see more great representation in the media, I've added it to my redbubble so you can browse to have it printed on a wide variety of merch, including clothing, homewares, mugs, phone cases etc. I'll also be adding some smaller, cheaper stickers to my etsy shop when they arrive, and if you'd like one free with any etsy order you place, just add a note when you place your order! I usually add my Good Omens art stickers to any Good Omens themed order, and my OFMD art stickers to any Our Flag Means Death themed order as a bonus gift, but if you'd like to choose something different just ask! I don't get much from redbubble orders - typically only a couple of pennies for each item, but it's better than nothing. Etsy orders are more helpful to me. ( https://manicuresbykirsty.etsy.com where I do nail polish jewellery including pride flag and pronoun cabochons, fandom themed cabochons in keyrings, badges/pins, bracelets, and pendants for necklaces, mainly Good Omens & OFMD themes but I can do many more and take custom requests so just ask!)
