KL-Aeolus supports ATX, M-ATX and ITX motherboards. When assembled with an M-ATX motherboard, the space inside the case is still quite ample. Users don’t have to worry about the room for other hardware even if they get an ATX motherboard.

But KL-Aeolus successfully solves these problems with a detachable PSU bracket in its rear panel.

After removing the right panel, we can find the ample routing space for cables even this case is not so wide. Slots in the plates will certainly facilitate the routing of fan cables.

A better picture of the critter closeups from my photo dump, as requested by @mathysphere!

These are all from the same pattern, “Ecology Wildlife Band”, torn many years ago from a Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine of unknown date. The original design had the four critters in a band across a reusable bag, with green text above and below saying "recycle, conserve, save / reuse, preserve, renew”. I stitched them on some mystery 16ct aida scraps which feel just a bit more plasticky than usual, and I have no idea if that’s fitting or ironic. The final size for each is 3.5in square from fabric edge to edge, and they’ll almost certainly go onto greeting cards at some point as is my wont.

All four critters were stitched mostly as given, though I did combine with other colors any single-stitch colors I happened to notice while prepping each piece just for my own convenience. That said, this was something of a study in how not to design a pattern! I’ll explain that a bit below the cut.

For starters, it’s a very photorealistic, full-coverage pattern packed with a frankly unnecessary density of colors (the tiger, for example, has 28 different floss colors as shown, plus the three single-stitch colors I merged out in prep). This technique results in primarily dither-style shading, which looks very smooth in the end but is an unfortunately confetti-full stitching experience. A thoughtful designer will minimize this where it’s reasonable, to make things easier for their stitchers! This pattern, however, felt like it probably came straight out of a computer program with no edits.

The pattern was also very difficult to read. It had both colors and symbols, which when done well is actually the option I like best! Unfortunately, four factors combined to make it terrible in this case:

The symbols were actually just letters (lower- and upper-case both), numbers, and punctuation -- in one of those skinny sans fonts that makes everything look like vertical lines when you’re not looking closely.

The colors were intended to be indicative of the floss color they represented, but they weren’t particularly close and especially they did not tend to match lightness/darkness (dark flosses had in many cases lighter colorfills than medium flosses).

Many colorfills were very close to each other by sheer virtue of the fact that the pattern had well over 50 floss colors and probably 30 of those were shades of brown. Printer ink, even fancy magazine printer ink, can really only manage so many shades of brown.

It was small. The pattern was printed across two pages, but only the top half of those two pages, and with margins and the border text and so forth -- which meant that each critter's pattern was only about the size of my finished fabric pieces, 3.5in square. That is not a lot of room for a pattern this visually dense.

This combination made it quite difficult to keep track of what was done and where to go next, even for -- if I do say so myself -- an experienced stitcher! I made at least one mistake in every piece that I only found far too late to be worth fixing, and in most of them I made multiple such mistakes. Mistakes can and do happen in projects of all sizes and types and levels of experience, and there is no shame in making them! But both the way a pattern is made and the way it is presented can affect the likelihood of mistakes, and this is a prime example of that.

There was also no particular regard for easy placement in the detailing, with the backstitch/straight stitch portions tossed haphazardly over the crosses so that they started 1/3 of the way into a square and ended 3/5 into another, and other such odd fractions. This doesn’t jive well with cross-stitch fabrics, which all function by factors of two; evenweaves (and hardanger) are stitched over two unless you’re doing tinywork, and aida is woven in blocks of four threads. To do detailing at odd fractions, you are forced to split a fabric thread -- a task that blunt tapestry needles are not good at. That’s more of a general embroidery thing, which is done with sharp needles for a reason!

All in all, this pattern felt like it was designed by someone who doesn’t do much actual cross-stitching themself. It is stitchable, as you’ve seen, but boy could it have used some cleanup editing before it hit the presses!

Bilbo’s world gets flipped upside down by the suave man, and he may not be a dirty cop, but he does have a personal investment in making sure Smaug is put behind bars.

Bilbo Baggins was not exactly the first person you pictured when you heard the acronym “FBI”. He was a little too short, a little too pudgy, and enjoyed his sweater vests immensely. Yet, he’s been his department’s top analyst for the last fourteen years. He may not be one of the showy field officers (messy, nasty work that), but what Bilbo did was not any less important. In fact, if it wasn’t for analysts like Bilbo, a lot of times the “gunslinging action” wouldn’t take place at all. A rather unpopular opinion but true.

It was shaping into a relatively normal Thursday for Bilbo. They had just finished up a debrief over their latest embezzlement case. He was starting to suspect they were dealing with a serial embezzler. It was different locations, different methods, and different amounts, but there was something about the case that clicked in Bilbo’s mind. He was almost to his desk when he noticed a large manila envelope was draped over his keyboard. He raised an eyebrow as he carefully lifted the sticky note attached to it.

And unfortunately, anything with Gandalf’s name on it was usually trouble for Bilbo. He tapped his fingers on the desk and spun back and forth in his chair for a bit when his eyes landed on his mother’s picture on his desk. She was in uniform hugging him at his college graduation. He knew exactly what she would want him to do. Heaving a groan, he pulled the damn envelope towards him and started looking over the files.

Arsons? Those didn’t usually fall under Gandalf’s jurisdiction. His eyes skimmed the reports, not sure exactly what Gandalf was expecting him to do. The evidence was fairly cut and dry. What’s more is the local police caught a suspect that seemed substantially to blame. Case closed. However, if Gandalf thought there was more, he should probably check it twice. It was actually the third time that he caught it. The papers hit his desk as his mind reeled. No...surely it wasn’t? Now he really needed to make sure.

He laid the photos out side by side circling the origin of the fires in each picture. His hand was shaking when he was done. This was big. This was FBI’s most wanted big. He didn’t even bother writing up a report. He immediately got on the server and sent a one-word email to Gandalf.

Smaug.

It was thirty after six when Bilbo finally packed up his work to head back home. His mind had been racing all afternoon, and all he wanted was to be put on the arson case. However, Gandalf never replied to his email, never called, nothing. First thing he was going to do when he got home after feeding Myrtle was grab a beer from the fridge and call the older man. Even if Gandalf wouldn’t let him be part of the team, he deserved to know what happened with that bastard.

Bilbo’s townhouse wasn’t exactly what you would call grand, but he enjoyed it greatly. It had the cosy atmosphere of his childhood cottage while still being rent efficient in a quiet neighborhood. It was a slight commute to work, but well worth it. He unlocked the door and flipped on the lights to the front room as he toed off his shoes and set his messenger bag down. He was just getting ready to move into the kitchen to get some cat food down for Myrtle when he froze. There was a man in his house.

“So you’re Mr. Baggins.” His low voice purred in amusement as he looked him up and down. “You look more like a grocer than an agent.”

Bilbo opened his mouth to scream when the man whipped out a Sig Sauer.

“Don’t.” He ordered calmly. “I only want to talk.”

Bilbo’s eyes hardened as he quickly took in details for a sketch artist. Tall, likely over six foot. Lean, except for he’s slightly broader in the shoulders. Tailored suit. Slicked back dark hair but graying at the sides, hooded blue eyes, well-trimmed beard and mustache. Almost as if he knew exactly what Bilbo was doing, the man smirked before nodding towards the sitting room. Bilbo moved slowly and deliberately as he sank down onto his armchair. The man unbuttoned his jacket before taking the spot on the couch. He set the gun down in front of him on the coffee table. A peace offering, but also a signal that it was within reach if he needed it. Bilbo’s blood was pounding as he forced his dry throat to work.

“What do you want?”

“Gandalf told me you have the information I need.”

Bilbo cocked his head in confusion as his mind raced to process the loaded answer. This man knew Gandalf. He talked to him recently. He knew Smaug.

“What kind of information?” Bilbo played dumb.

“A file came across your desk, and you gave Gandalf a name. I want to know why? What did you see that made you so sure it was him?”

There was almost a maniac gleam in those bright blue eyes. It was something Bilbo related to well.

“I can show you. I just need to get to my bag.” Bilbo stated, slowly standing up.

The man’s hand twitched towards his gun, but he didn’t pick it up as he nodded his consent. He didn’t take Bilbo as a threat. His mistake. Bilbo grabbed his bag and slid the pistol and cell phone out of the front pocket whirling around on the man. He sighed but put his hands up as he leaned back into the couch. Bilbo’s left hand was shaking as he searched for Gandalf’s number, but his gun hand remained steady and in control. He put the call on speaker so he could watch the man’s face for any slip. However, his expression never changed from slightly bored and exasperated.

“My dear Bilbo, I do hope you haven’t shot our guest yet.”

Bilbo could just kill the AD. He really could. As it was, his posture relaxed just slightly.

“Who is he?” He demanded of Gandalf.

“Someone who has hunted Smaug longer than you.”

Bilbo rolled his eyes at the dramatics and lack of a real answer which seemed to amuse the other man somewhat. This didn’t feel right. Every instinct in Bilbo’s body said to arrest the man across from him if nothing else than because he was dangerous.

“Do you trust him?” Bilbo finally asked, his voice wavering just slightly.

There was a long pause before Gandalf answered.

“I do.”

Being of no real use, Bilbo hung up the phone after that. He had two choices before him. He could trust Gandalf’s judgement, or he could go with his instincts. He kept the gun trained on the man for a moment longer before lowering it with a sigh. He flipped the safety back on as he stuck it in his waistband, because he wasn’t a total naive idiot, before picking up his bag like he said he was going to initially. When he looked back over, the man’s gun was gone. Bilbo sat stiffly next to him and pulled out the file Gandalf had sent over earlier.

“It was where these fires originated that tipped me off. Here, what do you notice?” Bilbo questioned.

The man furrowed his eyebrows studying the images before he shrugged with a grunt of irritation.

“Placement.” Bilbo pointed out. “There were no traces of accelerant so how do you start a natural fire? Well, very easily. Gas range stove, covered radiator, electrical outlets, but look. Where the spot is most charred we can assume is the start of the fire. It’s nowhere near anything like that. It couldn’t possibly have started naturally. So what set off the fire? Smaug has a very specific MO. He kills using highly concentrated nitroglycerin tablets, smuggable due to their heart relieving counterparts, that when combined with human stomach acid will cause an explosion. And judging by the shape of the darker burn, it’s not a huge leap to assume that there was a human body there.”

“But all of the owners were alive to file insurance claims.” The man pointed out, looking more curious than anything else.

Forgetting that he was a stranger that had a gun trained on him not even ten minutes ago, Bilbo found himself getting more animated at the chance to finally explain his theories.

“So I looked into that after I sent the email to Gandalf. Somehow, every owner was conveniently out of town before the fire happened, and afterwards were able to afford a building or home way above their pay scale. Which even if you take insurance money into account still shouldn’t be possible. I think Smaug was paying them off for access to conduct his dirty work somewhere he couldn’t be tracked. What’s more, all the buildings being used by the same money laundering cleaning service made an easy target for the police.”

The man raised an eyebrow as he seemed to be appraising Bilbo. He smirked before standing.

“Very well, I’ll talk to Gandalf about getting you transferred.”

Bilbo jumped to his feet.

“Transferred? Where? For what purpose?”

“I want you working for me.”

“Now wait just a minute here!” Bilbo demanded as he stomped back into the entry hall. “I don’t know who the hell you are, but I won’t be a dirty cop! And don’t try to convince me anything about what we did was legal. Nobody breaks into an FBI agent’s home and holds a gun on him unless they work outside the law.”

The man shook his head with a snort. “Well aren’t you just perceptive.”

“Hang on!”

Bilbo reached out for the man’s arm at the same time he reached for the doorknob. In less than a second, the man had Bilbo’s arm pinned above his head in the wall out of view of the window with Bilbo’s own gun placed under his chin. Bilbo glared into the ice blue eyes inches away from his own as he tried to keep a cool head in an uncomfortable situation.

“Let’s get a couple of things straight.” The man whispered, his breath hot on Bilbo’s face. “One, I don’t answer to anyone, especially not you. Two, you’ll be whatever I want you to be or you don’t get the revenge you so clearly desire. Yeah, I can see in your eyes how badly you want Smaug. Work for me or get the hell out of my way. I don’t really care one way or the other, but Smaug is mine.”

He gave Bilbo one last smirk before shoving the gun in Bilbo’s pocket and stepping away. Without so much as a ‘good evening’, he was gone in the night. Adrenaline shot, Bilbo slid down the wall until his butt met the floor painfully. He let his head lightly bang into the wall behind him a few times as he just focused on breathing. A ‘meow’ alerted him to his company before Myrtle stepped over his legs to rub her head against his arms and stomach.

“And where have you been?” He croaked.

He didn’t get an answer back aside from another ‘meow’ as she seemed rather insistent on getting her dinner. Bilbo closed his eyes and counted to twenty before getting up to finally go to the kitchen. That beer sounded more prevalent than ever.

First thing he did the next day was go straight to Gandalf’s office, slamming the door behind him. The older man looked up and gave the analyst a wide smile.

“Bilbo! To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“Who the hell was that last night?!”

“Well…” Gandalf huffed.

“Tell me.” Bilbo seethed. “Or I’ll go straight to the top and tell Saruman everything.”

Gandalf pouted. “No need to get testy. Please have a seat. Do you want some tea? Coffee?”

Bilbo let his face fall into his hands. “What I want…” His muffled voice stressed. “Is some answers. What have I just been exposed to?”

Gandalf sighed. “Very well. I believe you are familiar with Oakenshield?”

Bilbo slowly lifted his head to pierce Gandalf with a baffled glare.

“Oakenshield...the crime family? Oakenshield...who got into it with the Orcs several years back and cut off the hand of their boss? That Oakenshield?”

“The very one.” Gandalf snapped, pleased. “Well that was Thorin.”

“Thorin? As in the head of Oakenshield, Thorin Durin?!” Bilbo’s voice had risen in pitch at this point.

“Of course.” Gandalf nodded as if Bilbo having a conversation in his living room with a dangerous mob boss was akin to making a friend at preschool.

Bilbo collapsed in the chair across from Gandalf as spots danced in his eyes. He white-knuckle gripped the arms as if physically trying to tether himself to the conscious world. I’m not going to pass out. I’m not going to pass out. Bilbo was an analyst! There was a reason he didn’t go out and meet people...well like that. And Gandalf knew Durin. Even worse, Gandalf leaked FBI intel to him. Slowly he lifted his head.

“Did my mother know?” He demanded hoarsely.

“Did she know what?” Gandalf asked, genuinely baffled.

“Did she know you worked for the mafia?”

“Bilbo…”

“ANSWER THE QUESTION, GANDALF!”

The wizened face hardened, reminding Bilbo of the reason why he had yet to retire.

“She suspected...but I never told her, no.”

Bilbo rubbed his jaw as he chuckled on the verge of hysterics.

“She always told me I had to get in your command. Said it was her best days on the force. That you were a good AD. Tell me. What’s your ratio? How many do you let slip off the hook for every one you put behind bars?”

“Now see here, Bilbo Baggins! I will not let you undermine me or my division! Contrary to your belief system, there is more at work here than what you can comprehend.”

“My belief system?” Bilbo scoffed. “You mean THE LAW?”

“Yes.” Gandalf grumped. “The law. The law which can dictate that a pickpocket is guilty but a corporation stealing hours from their underpaid workers is innocent.”

“I’m not going to sit here and debate...politics with you!” Bilbo laughed. “My job is to arrest people like Thorin Durin and there’s nothing you can say that’s ever going to make me think working with the lunatic is a good idea!”

“Not even if he’s your only chance to take down Smaug?”

Bilbo’s face fell into an emotionless mask, except for his eyes burning holes into Gandalf. Without another word, he stood and left the office. If he slammed the door closed with more force than necessary, well that was no one’s business but his own. Luckily, his black mood seemed to engulf him like a siren warning everyone off. He made it to his desk with no distractions ready to pick up where he left off with the embezzlement cases. Only, he couldn’t move as he stared blankly at the wall of his cubicle.

Understandably, his focus was a little off. He figured he should turn Gandalf in, but for the love of his mother’s memory and nothing more, he deemed it best to leave that stone unturned. His decision was immediately questioned when he got a text twenty minutes later from an unknown number with a time and a location and a charming little warning at the end.

Come alone.

Bilbo snorted as he tossed his phone on his desk. Absolutely not. An hour later, he found himself procrastinating the embezzlement case again to pull up the bureau's database on Smaug, Dracon. It was all information Bilbo had practically memorized at this point. His eyes drifted towards his phone with the text he had already committed to memory before shaking his head and exiting out of his search. Bilbo was an analyst for the FBI. He had his integrity and moral responsibility to ignore psychopathic crime bosses who wanted to use him for a turf war. He wasn’t so single-mindedly driven by revenge regardless of what Gandalf or Oakenshield said. His phone buzzed again.

Belladonna Took’s son was meant for more than sitting behind a desk for the rest of his life. Thorin was impressed. At least hear him out tonight, and if you absolutely feel like you can’t join the team, we won’t bother you ever again.

Bilbo threw his phone with a string of curses that had everyone around him staring with wide eyes. Bilbo dragged his hands down his face. This was such an easy decision. He just had to say no! No, no, no, no. Why couldn’t he say no?

Because you’ve never felt more excited about any case before? Because you trained for months to be a field agent before making an abstaining promise to your father at your mother’s grave? Because you’ve never felt closer to getting your mother’s killer, and that’s a sweet taste that just won’t go away?

Bilbo cursed himself with every swear in the book when the cab pulled up outside the restaurant that was texted to him. His nerves were singing. Everything about this felt wrong and dirty. And yet...he opened the door to let himself in.

YES. Oh my God you explained perfectly the logic behind Neil getting tattoos. I get that people think tattoos fix Andrew's "aesthetic" more cause he wears all black and all but tattoos nowadays are popular and not really a thing that only alternative people get. Anyway -> if Neil got tattoos, do u have an hcs for what he might?

yea the more i think about it the more i really like the idea of neil getting tattoos. and who knows, maybe if his boyfriend starts to get covered andrew will take an interest too. i mean you're right, it does fit his aes. maybe he gets some matching tattoos with the love of his life

WHAT neil would get tho? oh there’s so many factors to consider

i see him having a similar ideology about it as i do, that his tattoos are to memorialize significant people and events in his life. most importantly though, they’re just,, to make him feel good about himself, so they’re all of happy memories, even if some might be bittersweet

it’s also not about full-coverage. he’s fine if his scars are still visible under the tattoo and probably isn’t going to try to religiously cover every single one. it’s about having something good on his body that he chose to put there to combat but not necessarily blot out the bad things done to him against his will

he tends to collect smaller individual pieces rather than large scale work and he’s not committed to a specific style, so his collection is a bit random and eclectic. but in terms of the style generally drawn to very kinesthetic art with a lot of movement and fluid lines, but also angular and hard-edged. i don’t think he’s color-averse and definitely not a strict black-and-gray guy, but at the same time i can’t see him doing like super super bright color work. he goes for darker, more saturated colors, like jewel and natural tones. also of course i see him as brown skinned so you need to approach color work differently anyway

in terms of what he actually GETS, i don’t really have a lot of opinions on placement or like,, what tattoos should cover which scar, but have some random ideas i think he might get

he has a large piece (like maybe a sleeve or thigh) that’s dedicated to his time on the run, but the good parts. it’s a mix of a lot of images and very chaotic, drawing from like,, the french cafe where his most first bought him a cup of coffee and cottage safehouses in the alps in summer and where they had room to stretch their legs and run and chase each other and hustling three card monty in dubai with his mom and diners in the pacific northwest that sold the best fruit pies

he of course gets a lot of tattoos for the foxes, definitely at least one straight-up fox. tiny pawprints are his go-to filler pattern

he has everyone’s signatures somewhere on him, maybe with a tattoo of the Championship trophy being hoisted up by a group of hands. he also has small individual pieces that memorialize each of them individually

definitely got several exy sticks and various other pieces of gear scattered in various places. dark stadium chairs leading down to a brightly lit exy court

andrew is probably his biggest inspiration. he has the photograph of them together in the airport turned into a silhouette like a victorian cameo. a ring of keys; this one might go on the back of his neck. a tire track skid mark. a skeleton sitting on a roof against a sunrise. andrew’s hand sparking a lighter. the only reason he doesn’t have a full portrait is bc andrew says he’ll leave him if he does it

a rabbit skull overgrown by moss and vines and flowers.

he gets a rook and knight chess pieces tat because kevin says that’s what he and andrew would be

he gets some small cheeky ones too. things like a line of script that says “you should see the other guy” with a gun running under a nasty scar or a skeletal arm broken in half

once he starts to really establish who he is and flesh himself out as a person he gets some that don’t necessarily have a lot of meaning but that he just likes the look of because he has the luxury of having opinions on art now

i don’t necessarily know if i want him to cover his facial scars, but i think that’s mostly because i don’t like facial tattoos very much, especially ones located where neil’s scars are. that’s just a personal preference though. however, i think the idea of a minimalist, abstract take of just like,, adding color to the scars might be nice. something like well-saturated brushstroke work

(addendum: an au or something where all neil’s scars are just covered in abstract brushwork would be so fucking beautiful. like this but full-body holy shit)

(i just don’t think it really fits him in canon to have a full-body tattoo scheme. also those would require so much long-term maintenance you’d have to get them redone like every 5 to 10 years)

he also doesn’t get them all at once, this is something he builds up over years. he also doesn’t want to rush it because he wants to stay open to memorialize things that will come in the future, because he has a future to wait for now

also i assume you probably want some reference photos too bc this can be a little hard to understand just as words, so here's some of my reference images under the cut

they’re more of a stylistic reference than a content reference. also - as in all things - this will of course also tell you a lot about my own personal taste in tattooing even though i try not to make it based ENTIRELY on what i like and try to factor in what i think neil would like

these were the tattoos that most inspired me about the tattoo idea for neil’s happiest memories with his mother. for some reason my gut really drew me towards architectural tattoos for it. i like the way the perspective on the left image is curved and confusing and it takes you a second to make sense of what you’re looking at. it reminds me a lot of an MC Escher drawing and that’s sort of the exact seeling of chaos and confusion that i think the tattoo needs. but then i was also really drawn to the soft colors of the right image (although they’d have to be adjusted somewhat for neil’s darker skin), because they’re so comforting, and i think that’s the sort of balance i’m looking for out of a tattoo for mary. so like,, compositionally like the left image but colored more like the right

literally every person who’s ever considered aftg and tattoos together HAS to offer up a fox tattoo it’s law. anyway these are mine. or well, the types i can see neil with. also, not aside from the foxes, these tattoos are really the best examples i can find of the angular, kinesthetic art style that i feel very strongly matches neil

inspo behind the tattoo of andrew’s hand with the lighter. also just a good simple style for smaller tattoos or filler tattoos

victorian cameos. inspiration behind both the silhouette tattoos of andrew and neil in the airport and the skeleton & the sunrise. both would be more than just the bust and the poses would be more fluid and they don’t need the brooch design outline. it’s really more of a starter reference or a jumping off point

neo-traditional tattoos. phenomenal style. strong lines and highly saturated color, super important both for a long-lasting tattoo and for tattooing on darker skin. they also just tend to have a certain composition i really like

Following on after War for Cybertron: Siege, most toys released as part of War for Cybertron: Earthrise feature an individualised military insignia, denoting each character’s position in their respective army’s command structure. The three part insignia, delineated by Hasbro here, reveals the character’s Division (Land, Air, Sea, Space), Unit (Infantry, Intelligence, Medic, Engineering, Special Ops, Artillery, Transport), and Rank (General, Major, Captain, Sergeant, Private). Above is a diagram listing the command structure of all Earthrise toys, constructed from original research and using my own photos where possible.

Some things to note:

Notable exclusions: a lot of Generations product released alongside Earthrise, but not all of it was branded as part of Earthrise. For starters, the War for Cybertron Trilogy subline, tying into the Netflix show, is not included here, and will be looked at at a later date. The Quintesson Pit of Judgement set also falls under this umbrella. Unlike during Siege, the year’s corresponding Generations Selects products were not branded with the Earthrise logo, and also unlike Siege, none of the characters in the line received an insignia, even by accident. This means the following characters are Unlisted by default: Black Roritchi, Bug Bite, Cordon, Deep Cover, Exhaust, Frenzy, Greasepit, Hot House, Hubcap, Knok, Megatron (G2), Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, Shattered Glass Ratchet, Rotorstorm, Sandstorm, Skar, Spin-Out, Tigertrack, and Wingthing.

Notable inclusions: despite using a similar packaging style to Generations Selects, both Centurion Drone and Alternate Universe Optimus Prime are classified as Earthrise product. However, both toys follow the Generations Selects pattern of not including an insignia.

Factions: Earthrise introduced two new factions in the form of Quintessons and Mercenaries. Quintessons do not make use of the insignia system. Three of the Decepticon toys in Earthrise have also been affiliated with the Mercenaries at some point: they are Doubledealer (Toy Fair slideshow and Mercenary insignia inside packaging), Snapdragon (Toy Fair slideshow), and Thrust (insignia inside packaging).

Errata: some characters’ ranks are ambiguous owing to printing or design errors. Ironworks is either a Space Engineering Captain or Ground Engineering Captain depending on which part of their packaging one looks at; them being a Space Engineering Captain is corroborated by Hasbro’s website and thus probably correct. Sunstreaker’s instructions list him as a Ground Infantry Private, with his box calling him a Ground Special Ops Private; again, the website confirms the latter rank. Wheeljack’s inner tray features a Ground Engineering Captain insignia, while all other sources, including his box, the instructions, the website, and his War for Cybertron Trilogy subline toy agree that he is a Ground Engineering Sergeant. EDIT: characters with misprinted or incorrect ranks have been altered in opacity so as remove ambiguity.

The characters that hold the same rank as they did during Siege are: Astrotrain, Bluestreak, Direct-Hit, Ironhide, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Power Punch, Prowl, Rung, Skywarp, Starscream, and Thundercracker.

One character definitively holds a different rank: Smashdown, who has moved from Ground Artillery Private to Air Artillery Private. Subjectively, one could say Bluestreak has been demoted from Ground Infantry Captain to Artillery Private, if one accepts the rank from his Siege instructions – a copy/paste error of Prowl’s rank – as canon. Similarly, Smokescreen has been promoted from Ground Special Ops Private to Sergeant, but this only holds true if one believes his Siege rank, which did not come from his Generations Selects toy, but from the Siege Trading Card Game.

Pounce and Wingspan being in two completely different Divisions and Units would really limit their misdirection capabilities in a combat scenario.

Ground Hog and Roller Force’s placement as medics is an educated guess based on a previously-unseen symbol, as well as the fact that Ground Hog’s characterisation features him fixing up his Race Track Patrol teammates.

BASE ONLINE: ONGOING CONTENT OPPORTUNITIES

Limitations: Open to all

Deadline: None, these tasks are indefinitely open to all muses at any time, though points can only be collected for each opportunity once per muse.

While base Online has been in existence since base’s advent, mainly uploaded behind the scenes content of base TV and base Music projects, base’s management decided to start focusing on getting more eyes on their online branch in 2021. A call has gone out to managers to get their idols more involved in the project by asking them to participate in creating a steady stream of content, both pre-filmed and live, for base Online.

IN ‘VERSE INFO

Idols under the three companies may at any time be directed by management to participate in creating one of the following video content types:

Pre-filmed Series

INTERVIEW (#fmdbaseonline1.1)

A vlog involving one idol interviewing another on their career, life, etc. in a professional tone. See here for an example of tone, though not in a podcast setting.

Must be completed as a thread of at least eight posts. The interviewer is the only muse that collects points, so the interviewee must do a separate thread interviewing someone to collect points.

PRACTICAL JOKE (#fmdbaseonline1.2)

A vlog involving one idol doing a hidden camera prank or playing a practical joke on another idol. This can be a short, minor prank or a more elaborate one as long as it doesn’t provoke a reaction that is damaging to either idol’s image.

Must be completed as a thread of at least eight posts. Both the muse pranking and the muse being pranked may collect points.

COVER (#fmdbaseonline1.3)

A video covering a solo or duet song of the muse’s choice filmed on a stage set (all muses will film on the same set) with some minor lighting design, basic set options, and the option of live accompaniment (example). This can be singing, rapping, dancing, and/or instrumental but should reflect a muse’s group positions/soloist focuses (if applicable). If you use a reference, please avoid covers released on streaming sites or to channels claimable on the points blog (ex. Studio Choom, Dingo, Muply) and be aware that reference will not be officially claimed (i.e. someone else can use the same reference).

Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words or a thread of at least eight posts.

“TEN THINGS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT” (#fmdbaseonline1.4)

This is a video where the muse discusses ten items they can’t live without. Examples here and here.

Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words.

“"EVERYTHING I DO IN A DAY” (#fmdbaseonline1.5)

This is a video where the muse recounts the schedule of their “typical day”. Examples here and here.

Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words.

“CURATED PLAYLIST” (#fmdbaseonline1.6)

For this video, the muse will create a playlist of their choice of approximately one hour in length. They will then work with the production team to choose a location fitting the mood of the playlist that they will be filmed in as the playlist plays. The location should be fairly simple to access and film at without a large budget, and allow for the placement of stationary cameras. What the muse does during the filming should be simple, background types of activities that won’t distract the listener/watcher, such as taking photos, doing art, writing, eating, driving, reading, working out, cooking, etc. Examples here, here, and here (more examples on the same channel, but note that something like smoking for the video would not be allowed as idol image should be maintained).

Must be completed as a playlist of around one hour in length and a solo of 400+ words. The complete playlist can be included separate from the solo or the songs can be specified throughout the solo. Note: For purposes of this opportunity, the playlist is allowed to count repeat songs used in other playlists for the muse unlike normal playlists for points. A separate explanation of the playlist is not required.

Live Series

ADVICE LIVE (#fmdbaseonline2.1)

A livestream giving advice to fans who send in situations and questions they need advice on.

Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words or a thread of at least eight posts with a groupmate or with a muse with a face claim of the same presented/publicly assumed gender.

HOW-TO LIVE (#fmdbaseonline2.2)

A livestream where one muse teaches another muse how to do something they know how to do well, but the other muse doesn’t. This can have either a comedic or serious tone.

Must be completed as a thread of at least eight posts.

CHOICE LIVE (#fmdbaseonline2.3)

A livestream with a format of the idol’s choice, as long as it’s kept appropriate (ex. playing a game, baking, on the spot cover requests, dancing, etc.)

Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words or a thread of at least eight posts with a groupmate or with a muse with a face claim of the same presented/publicly assumed gender.

OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO

You may choose to complete or not complete these tasks whenever you’d you like! Each task/prompt/opportunity can only be completed once per muse for points. Writing for prompts should only be done if at least one muse in a thread has not collected points for the task previously to avoid an endless number of videos starring the same muse. This is meant to be specific prompts for a limited number of videos on for the base Online website over time not a substitute for a personal Youtube channel claim, where a muse has more freedom with type of content and quantity of content.

Lives can be assumed to happen whenever you date them from February 2021 onward. Pre-filmed content can be assumed to go up on base Online sometime from February 2021 onward, from two weeks to six months after it was filmed depending on the amount of tasks completed on one muse dated around the same time.

Keep in mind that all pre-filmed videos would be edited and all live videos would be supervised by management to avoid causing scandals.

Each thread completed for points should be with a different muse and these tasks cannot be completed through an open thread starter.

Please tag all threads and solos with the tag next to the matching prompt. They do not have to be completed in a specific order.

Rockefeller PR firm. Though not connected to the famed family by any means, legend had it the J.D. Rockefeller himself had hired the founding members to handle his public relations in the very early success of the family. As a show of gratitude, in addition to a substantial cash and client flow, Mr. Rockefeller had allowed the firm to use the family’s prosperous name.

Anyone who was anyone in New York City knew of and often employed Rockefeller PR. The firm put on benefit events like they were going out of style, constantly hosting galas and banquets for one charity or another. Of course, with the guest lists for the events most often restricted to Manhattan’s elite, the donations poured in left and right. The firm had reached their renowned status as the most profitable and most charitable over the years.

In more recent years, Sophia Hawkins and Lucy Cleveland had made names for themselves as the firm’s most successful representatives. That success had given the clout they needed to swing an event entirely different from anything the firm had done in a long time -- possibly ever.

For starters, this event wasn’t being held to raise funds for an art gallery or secure investors for a corporation. This event was being held to raise funds to donate to several different organizations that supported the US troops and veterans. Not to mention, the event was made open to the public -- another component which had never been a part of a Rockefeller PR event. The thing was 1940s USO; everyone who showed up to attend the event was required to dress accordingly and make a donation at the door, in addition to their purchased ticket, of course

Both Sophia’s and Lucy’s grandfathers had fought in World War II, which had been Sophia’s inspiration for the idea. The firm’s executives hadn’t been keen on the idea when the two women first presented it, but between the excellent publicity that would come from supporting the troops and veterans, and the girls’ track record of successful events, convincing them to endorse the event hadn’t taken but a few minutes.

The night of the benefit arrived, with a line forming out the door a couple of hours before the designated start time. Sophia and Lucy were dressed to the nines, double checking that everything -- from the menu to the music -- was in order. The servers were dressing in period-appropriate waiter and waitress uniforms, and the trio of women singing were emulating a 1940s singing group to a T. While the musical act ran through their era-specific setlist, Sophia and Lucy shined up the finishing touches on the decor.

“Soph!” Lucy called out across the banquet hall, “do we need to alter the table settings? Caitlyn still has place cards for high-profile clients set out.”

“We can just toss the cards, since there’s no guest list and we’re closing the doors as max capacity,” Sophia replied, already plucking name cards from a nearby table.

“Do we have enough food?” Lucy continued.

“We’ve got the chefs cooking for one-hundred-fifty and there’s one-hundred seats. I think we’re okay,” Sophia smiled. “Calm down, Luce. Everything is going according to plan. Nobody can plan like we can.”

Finally, Lucy was able to calm down. “You’re right. You’re absolutely right.”

The women smiled at each other; everything was going to be perfect. Despite Lucy’s worries, they were well aware that this had been one of the smoothest events they had ever planned. Not having to please a bunch of snobby clients made the process a breeze.

With only a few minutes to go, Sophia and Lucy decided they were happy with the state of things. After a short breather, they told the doorman to begin letting guests in the hall.

Manhattan’s elite mingled with some lesser known citizens, filling the room and milling about the dance floor with freshly served drinks. The two event planners flitted about, adjusting table placements as necessary, making sure the food and drinks stayed well-stocked. The turnout was set to be huge, and within ten minutes of the doors opening, the hall was filled to capacity.

Once everyone had found their seat, Sophia made a brief yet spectacular speech welcoming everyone and thanking them for their donations -- with the total amount to be named later in the evening -- the musical act took to the stage. Drinks continued to flow, the appetizers were served, and the nostalgia of the songs pulled a few couples to the dance floor. Sophia and Lucy stood at the back of the room, admiring their handiwork.

“Ya know, Soph, I think we did a good job with this one,” Lucy mused, accepting a martini from the bartender.

“I think you’re right,” Sophia agreed. She sipped wine from the glass in her hand and took another cursory glance over the room, ever vigilant for any little thing that might go wrong.

“Everyone seems to be having a good time,” Lucy added. “And, speaking of a good time, I do believe that gentleman in the corner is eyeing you. He has been all night.”

Sophia choked her drink. “You’re kidding, right? Lucy, tonight is not the night for your games, friend.”

“I’m not playing games,” Lucy laughed. “See, over by the band? Tall, blond. Might have to call the doctor, since he’s been nursing that beer for over an hour. But, yes, friend, he keeps glancing over at you.”

“I think you’re full of shit,” Sophia mumbled, though she looked somewhat hopeful as she threw a casual glance in the direction Lucy had indicated. She locked eyes with the man Lucy had nodded toward.

“Still think I’m full of shit?”

Sophia scoffed, shaking her head before she downed the rest of her wine and set the glass on the bar. Yes, she had been hopeful seconds ago, but this man was beyond handsome -- and she was on the clock, to boot.

“Go, talk to him!” Lucy urged.

“Not a chance, Luce. We’re working, remember?”

Before Lucy could come up with a suitable response to change her friend’s mind, the man in question started towards the two women. When he was close enough for them to see he was, for certain, headed in their direction, Lucy whispered a quick ‘good luck’ in Sophia’s ear, then made herself busy checking on the status of supper.

“I’m sorry to interrupt,” the man began, “but are you Sophia Hawkins?”

Sophia nodded. “I am. Can I help you with something?

“I’m Steve Rogers,” he introduced, extending a hand. When Sophia slipped her hand into his for a confident but cautious handshake, he continued. “I wanted to thank you for coordinating this event. It’s a great cause, and I’m very impressed with the level of authenticity.”

Sophia faltered for a moment, running through her mental files so could explain the familiarity of his name. She recovered quickly, pasting a polite, professional smile on her face.

“We did our best to make it as authentic as possible. My grandfather and great uncle were in World War II, and my co-planner, Lucy’s grandfather was in the war, as well. We were able to find a lot of photographic evidence to go off of.”

Steve hesitated, casting an uneasy glance at the ground before meeting her eyes again. “Yeah, my grandfather was in the war, too. I think he would appreciate how well you pulled it all off.”

“Why, thank you,” she smiled. They stood in silence for a moment, and Sophia noticed the authentic detail of the Army uniform Steve was wearing -- even with the best costume designers, nothing they had provided for the waitstaff or singers was this authentic. The longer she looked, the more familiar the uniform seemed.

Steve met her eyes. “Everything all right?”

Sophia nodded and quickly dismissed the strange familiarity as something she had seen in her own family’s photos. “Is the uniform your grandfather’s?”

Again, Steve hesitated, almost as though he was looking for the right words to answer an otherwise easy question. “It was. Found it in my mother’s attic before the event. Since time-period attire was required, seemed like the uniform was the way to go.”

“It suits you,” Sophia smiled. She turned away for a moment to ask the bartender for another glass of wine.

Steve quickly took a sip of his beer while he waited for her to return to their conversation. He looked around the room, catching sight of the dance floor; a warm blush creeped over his cheeks and down his neck. The tempo had changed from upbeat and quick to slow and steady. A surge of confidence swelled in his chest, pushing him to act on impulse. Steve finished off his beer and set the bottle on the counter, then extended his hand to Sophia again.

“Forgive me if I’m out of line, but would you like to dance, Ms. Hawkins?” Steve asked.

Sophia’s blush matched his as she turned to set the wine glass on the bar. She accepted Steve’s hand. “Call me Sophia, and I’d love to dance.”

The couple eased into a simple waltz as the music began to build from the first verse into the bridge of the song. They danced in silence through the chorus, concentrating on the steps before changing focus to each other.

“You told me about your family, but what made you decide to do an event open to the public? I’ve been told your firm generally caters Manhattan’s high-status citizens.”

“We do, you’re right,” Sophia confirmed. “Lucy and I have done so many of those, we wanted to do something different. We were looking through old family photos together one night, just for fun, and the idea to do a benefit for the military came to us. The USO theme followed.”

“I don’t want to sound like a broken record,” Steve smiled, “but you did a really fantastic job.”

Sophia showed her appreciation for his compliment with a modest smile. When the song ended, though she was reluctant to do so, she thanked Steve for the dance and turned to return to the bar.

“Sophia?” he called, gently grabbing her wrist to keep her from getting too far..

She turned to face him, brows raised in question. “Mm?”

“Would you want to get dinner some time? Maybe get to know each other better. Sometime when you’re not working.”

Sophia didn’t bother to stop the ear-to-ear grin that spread over her face. “I would love that.”

A pen was handy in the pocket of her dress, since she was, in fact, working. She took Steve’s hand again and jotted her number across his palm. She clicked the pen before putting it back in her pocket.

“I’ll call you in a few days,” Steve promised. “We’ll work out the details.”

“Sounds good.” Sophia nodded and winked at him. She turned to walk away, this time looking over her shoulder to add, “Thanks for the dance, Captain.”

He froze for a moment, fearing that Sophia was aware of his full identity. Her eyes glanced to the patches on his jacket before she turned away from him; that had been what tipped her off to the rank. When she was back at the bar and conversing with her friend, Steve looked down at the phone number written across his palm. With a suppressed but victorious smile, he worked his way back into the crowd.

AP Mystery Room Package ~ Pina Colada

IMVU has brought to us another Mystery Package called Pina Colada. However, this is for AP members only. If your avatar is not AP, then you are unable to take part in this Mystery Room Package. As a lot of you have seen, the last Mystery Room Package was a little disappointing for me, the first one I bought. So, I ended up buying more than one. This time around, I was not disappointed and only had to get one. Very similar to the advertising of the other Mystery Room Package earlier this month you’ll find banners that look like this;

Mystery Room Package

Costs $15, and you receive a mystery room and 15,000 credits in virtual currency to use in world. I always like these deals because, in the end, you are only paying $1 USD per credit you obtain plus a bonus of a room. I think these are great if you do not mind having a preference and getting a themed room and a bunch of furniture if you are an interior designer such as myself. The marketing of the room wasn't marketed as long or as strong as the first Mystery Room Package. Honestly, I feel like it has something to do with the package being AP related, and IMVU's main consumer base is teens to late '20s. Instead, after the ads only being around for about an hour until disappearing, they started a sale on upgrades and credits. It took me forever to find this room package again to buy it because the advertising just disappeared. There are a specific number of these packages that can be given out when I bought mine there were 814 left. Below is a link so you can participate in this AP Mystery Package if you wish too.

Pina Colada Mystery Room Package Teleport

This time around the room I obtained is called AP Cavern of Passion created by 1DLovin. Here is my review of this mystery room. Ahead of time, Mystery Room Packages are randomly picked rooms that are made by users for users. These rooms are made specifically for these packages, and they get creators to contribute to the making of rooms for the bundles during certain times of the year. As we have seen, this is the second Mystery Room Package for June. Right off the bat of entering this room, it is a very fantasy and mystical feeling. You are in a cavern surrounded by jewels and a ray of sunlight coming in shining on a small cabin on an island in the water. There is a ship on the other side of the environment that adds to the mystery of what this room has to offer.

When rooms are AP, this typically means that there are either sexual poses, furniture, or photos in the scene. On the ship, there are two animated poses, and the rest are places to stand on the ship. As beautiful of touch as the vessel was, I feel like there were a lot of potentials that were lost. They could have made it more realistic and added a bedroom/captain's quarters to interact with, seeing as this room is considered AP. But instead, we got steering the ship animation with the wheel and animation in turning the direction of the ship. A ship that does not move, but nonetheless, the animations are there if you want to use this room in a role-playing scenario. Fantasy pirates?

Taking ourselves away from the ship for a moment, there is a little cuddle raft in the water that turns side to side. There are a few cuddling/cuddle poses (two to be exact but better than none). Along with that, there are some sitting poses which one is shown as an example. One of my favorite parts of this cavern is the gazebo. It is a beautiful conversation starter, and I've already used the room with three friends so far. I have gotten so many compliments on it, which I was not expecting. The poses are limited and mainly sitting, and there is nothing quite AP about it. But the environment sparks creativity, which is helping me write so no complaints there. If you're looking for somewhere to swim and spend your time in the Summer months, then you will love that this cavern has a lot of swimming areas in the water. This was unexpected, but a nice touch.

While we are on the topic of water, let's discuss the grotto with one cuddle/kissing pose and many standing and seated poses. As beautiful as this grotto is, I am disappointed again that there was so much potential for it. Yet, it lacks in animations and poses. That is okay, though if you are like me and have a ton of extra AP and standard poses, you can spice up these areas that seem to be lacking. The grotto itself is delightful to the eye, and I do enjoy it more than I thought I would. The placement of everything in the room was very thought out.

This cavern is not as AP as it seems for an AP Mystery Room Package. Still, for a room in general, it is incredibly versatile and pleasant. I can see myself doing a lot with this specific room. I think what makes this more AP is the fact that the boating dock can be found past the cabin with no cuddle poses and two seating places with a fireplace. Has drinking pose where the avatar drinks an alcoholic beverage and then lays down in a cuddle state. I love it, but if this is the only thing making it AP, why not just make the Mystery Package for everyone? Oh well.

All in all, the room I obtained from this package is impressive. Its far from being AP themed, but there is so much potential. It leaves a lot of room for the imagination, and the possibilities are endless. This gives me so many ideas to decorate and make the cavern the way I want with my extra pose and animation sets, furniture for the cabin, etc. With a little tender love and care, this could be the perfect AP cavern. As an entire room, the atmosphere is fantastic and fits my style. I am not disappointed in the overall aspect of this room. I try to take part in as much of these as possible so you know if you’re getting the best “bang for your buck.”
