Okay I have like ten minutes I'm gonna try to write all my thoughts about THE LAST SHADOWHUNTER (please be aware the maker of this post is extremely sleep deprived and in finals)
So, last year I made this post that was like "imagine the shadowhunter duty ends and now you have this whole ass civilization that's lived apart from the world since the beginnings of time and now their only duty is over and have to somehow carry on with that, like there's this fundamental part of their identity that just doesn't matter anymore, but they can finally have normal and peaceful lives". Now that's bittersweet if you ask me.
HOWEVER that's not what I'm gonna talk about right now, just a possibility that I'd like to put in everyone's minds (cuz crazy theories are my thing and I'm still haunted by this thought)
Now, I think about the last prince of hell. My best shot right now is that that's Lucifer (just think about it: the last king of faerie is gonna be an intro that's way too heavy, [the CC style] and somehow the gang is gonna find a way to exile eight out of nine and be like Yeah that's all everybody see you at Christmas, then Bad Thing Is Revealed and we're sobbing again. Or maybe they happen at the same time. Cassie likes to have fun with that). If Lucifer is the threat now, we are done. (Like, not done done, just holy mother of god take us out of this done, ya know?)
My first thought (as usual 😔) was Kit (IM A BASIC BITCH OKAY?) but I don't know. That'd be too easy (but I'm not taking him off the list completely). I saw some saying it might be Tessa (which would be cool as fuck) but Tessa already had her story and Cassie is known for letting each generation shine at their own time.
So, I decided to empower my most unlikely theories, and put my money on Ash. I am not an Ash expert, so I apologize in advance if I've got things wrong. But I'm of the idea Ash is in such an interesting position cuz he's had the opportunity to learn from three of the characters that despite shadowhunters the most. However, he is a shadowhunter himself, but doesn't feel any alienation to them (and either to the faeries as far as I'm aware? I think he sees himself as a completely different creature than those around him cuz He Has Gone Thru It™ but that's a conversation for another post). For what I know, at the end of the day Ash is just a kid that has never been seen as a person. He's always being the weapon, the trophy or the treasure. And out of all the cast, I think Ash has the potential to go thru the most devastating heart wrenching and infamous story line to get to that point.
And there's also the possibility it's a character that has not been introduced and we're just putting on our clown make up 🫠

This one is weird, idk, just wanted to give some love to Lucienne, the only one patient enough to put up with Dream's emo BS.
Also, Lucienne is every tired retail worker having to deal with stupid customers, I see a lot of myself in her.
The tall, lithe figure looked down on Lucienne.
'Where is he?' He all But snarled.
It was a different messenger from the faerie kingdom, an impatient one. Lucienne stood tall, looking back into golden eyes.
'My lord had a previous engagement, he will be here momentarily,'
The faerie man scoffed,
'I come here with a message from queen Tatiana herself, only for the dream King's ears.
Lucienne bit back a sigh, 'If it is that important, perhaps I could pass it on,'
'No! You are merely a servant.'
Lucienne blinked, fixing her gold rimmed glasses. A retort was ready on her lips, it was only her professionalism that kept her quiet.
'Yes, I understand, but my lord is a busy entity.'
The faerie man glared, and then, without warning, he raised his hand as if to strike. Lucienne stood firm, never breaking eye contact, even when she heard the familiar flap of wings, scratching the faerie man with sharp claws. He cried out, glaring at the raven like it was an irksome fly. Then, his eyes widened as a shadow fell upon his face. In fact, all the shadows in the room lengthened and twisted.
'You dare,' came a voice crafted from nightmares, all eyes turned, expecting to see the dream king, regal in his cloak of shadows.
Instead, Dream stood at the foot of his throne, dressed in mismatched pyjamas, too big for his slender frame. His bare feet padded on the floor as he closed the distance, billowing behind him was a tartan dressing robe, obviously taken from a one Hob Gadling.
The faerie man's expression shifted from fear to confusion.
'You interrupted the boss's sleepover,' cawed Matthew, still perched on Lucienne's shoulder.
His wing brushed out against her ear, the same way a human would pat someone's shoulder.
Dream glared down at the faerie man, his eyes two dark abysses,
'You force your way into my palace, demanding my presence, refusing to wait, and when my staff try to help...,' His voice deepened, turning into a growl,
'You would physically harm her.'
A chill settled over the throne, even though it wasn't directed at them. Lucienne and Matthew shivered. The faerie man looked as though he wanted to die, his knees actually shook.
'I-I meant no disrespect-'
'Didn't you?' His form lengthened even more, a stark contrast from his colourful attire,
'I understood you are new at this job, but you should know that any slight taken at one of my staff, is a slight against me.'
Without waiting for an answer, Dream raised a clawed hand and snapped his fingers. With a whoosh of air, idiot went flying back, hitting the palace doors, hard enough to crack whatever it was made of.
Lucienne couldn't keep her eyes from widening, Matthew cawed, impressed.
Dream came to stop in front of Lucienne, shifting his eyes back to his watery blue.
'Lucienne, are you alright?' The concern in his voice was apparent, so much so, that Lucienne had to fight back a sudden feeling of emotion.
'Yes, my lord,' she cleared her throat, 'I was not frightened.'
Dream smiled a small smile, 'I know you weren't.'
The faerie man groaned, slowly, he peeled himself from his imprint, and fell to the ground, heavily.
'As for you,' Dream approached him again, still cutting an imposing figure, despite the cartoon cat on his shirt,
'Tell your queen that I am willing to speak with her, once she employs a messenger not as ignorant as you.'
With another snap of his finger, the faerie was gone, as was the damage done to the wall.
Matthew let out a cawing laugh,
'Did you see his face?'
Lucienne just blinked, 'Not that I am not grateful, my lord, but will this not strain the the Dreaming's alliance with the faerie kingdom?'
Dream looked at her, eyebrow raised,
'I do not care, if that is how they treat staff,' he reached out, as if to take her hand, then just flexed his fingers awkwardly,
'Especially, one as loyal as you, then they are not worth my time.'
Lucienne couldn't keep her small smile from appearing, she focused instead on Matthew, scratching under his beak.
'It is...appreciated, my lord,'
Dream gave a small nod, his show of respect.
'Now, if you'll excuse me, I am certain my hot chocolate has gone cold,' and with that, he vanished, in a flurry of sand and billow of his robe.
Lucienne smiled down at Matthew,
'Shall we have some tea?'
Matthew flapped his wings,
'Yeah, can we have biscuits?'

Elijah is far more reserved when it comes to talking about certain things but there’s always a special interest he leaves for people who enjoy books and reading the same way he does and Tara has something about her that sparks that interest.
For most, if they came in a mess he might just offer a free piece off coffee cake and let them move on but as he was brewing her tea he couldn’t help but ask if she was okay and one thing about Elijah was he never asked just because, he cares and wants to know.
She calls him sweet though and a soft breath of a laugh leaves him because he’s not, his customer service is top notch but Elijah isn’t friendly or sweet, he lacks a lot of empathy at times and lacks it completely for strangers. “Nah, I just like you.” Not meaning it so much as a romantic way but, yeah he’s not blind either but he does like her, he likes the conversation she can bring and he likes that things feel genuine when she speaks and it’s never to make herself seem anymore more or less, she’s simply Tara and Elijah wouldn’t have it any other way, “Really though, this place has been a safe place for a number of people when they need it, consider it yours too if you want. My apartment is…” pointing above him and nodding to the hatch ladder in the back of the store, “There’s an incredibly mediocre couch to crash on if you need.” A soft smile given with the offer.
