When he took the helm of CNN, in May 2022, Licht had promised a reset with Republican voters—and with their leader. He had swaggered into the job, telling his employees that the network had lost its way under former President Jeff Zucker, that their hostile approach to Trump had alienated a broader viewership that craved sober, fact-driven coverage. These assertions thrust Licht into a two-front war: fighting to win back Republicans who had written off the network while also fighting to win over his own journalists, many of whom believed that their new boss was scapegoating them to appease his new boss, David Zaslav, who’d hired Licht with a decree to move CNN toward the ideological center.
One year into the job, Licht was losing both battles. Ratings, in decline since Trump left office, had dropped to new lows. Employee morale was even worse. A feeling of dread saturated the company. Licht had accepted the position with ambitions to rehabilitate the entire news industry, telling his peers that Trump had broken the mainstream media and that his goal was to do nothing less than “save journalism.” But Licht had lost the confidence of his own newsroom. Because of this, he had come to view the prime-time event with Trump as the moment that would vindicate his pursuit of Republican viewers while proving to his employees that he possessed a revolutionary vision for their network and the broader news media.

Often Forgotten
“When you were made a leader,  you weren’t given a crown; you were given the responsibility to bring out the best in others” -Jack Welch Unfortunately for some, the title becomes a tool to bully co-workers while exempting themselves from basic rules of the organization. “Yes men/women” rarely make good leaders, as self-preservation takes precedence over mentoring and encouraging success in…

i just think there are so many valid critiques of public figures, especially when it comes to politics/use of platform for important issues, and ALSO that these critiques can live alongside your admiration of their art or their brand or their personality. the internet really wants to act like if a famous person is not 100% ideologically pure leftist and practicing that constantly then you throw the whole celebrity out, but to me i think if you are looking to pop stars and actors for leadership in geopolitics or economic policy then you seriously need a reality check.

One thing that really got me about this update is that while they’re back on the road now and Twi is alright…it’s not a victorious departure. It’s sorrowful, it’s fearful, and it’s ridden with guilt and regrets about what just happened

Their body language says it even more than their words do. They’re slumped, they’re tense, they’re frowning rather than smiling. Hardly anyone cracks a joke this time around.
Their journey is beginning to take a toll on them. And although the Shadow just suffered a crushing defeat he doesn’t have the same emotional aspect that our heroes have had — and continue to have — to deal with.
I definitely foresee some arguments — maybe even physical altercations — in the future. That alone makes them vulnerable to the Shadow’s revenge (which previous updates have shown he doesn’t hesitate to exact. He’s angry. He’s coming for the heroes. Especially Twilight.)
I look forward to seeing how this will all play out

thinking about that one hj focus thank u fancam where you can see joongie getting more and more emotional. how after he does his part he's pacing back and forth in the back and fidgeting with his hoodie and mouthing the lyrics, watching his members perform like he can't quite believe it's really happening. how you can see him admit to san, laughing sheepishly, that he's kinda tearing up. how he keeps gravitating back towards seonghwa just to put a hand on his shoulder or ruffle his hair. how when the emotional climax of the bridge approaches, his eyes get wide and a little desperate like he's afraid he might really cry, and he runs downstage to get an arm around seonghwa before the high note. how he instinctively pulls his hand away from seonghwa's before giving in and letting him take it, just in time for seonghwa to stare right into his eyes, sing that final thank you to him and him alone, and bow. how he basically keeps his back to the audience for the rest of the song.

What if Jake had been in town when the Garaton Inspector came by?
Honestly, Rachel's plan in #37 is not bad. It's a good idea to attack Visser Three while he's feeding, and a good idea to convince the Council of Thirteen to get rid of him — he's the yeerk pushing hardest to wipe out 95% of humans to make the remaining 5% easier to enslave. Rachel perceives herself as reaching the highest highs of hubris before dropping to the lowest lows of incompetence... but as Jake points out, she fixes her own mistakes the best she can and comes out on par with his usual performance. She's not good at listening to her team, but she's not actually the terrible leader she sees herself as being.
So. I think Jake, if there, would suggest attacking Visser Three while feeding. And then he'd agree with Rachel's idea of a hit-and-run blitz to make the visser look bad to the inspector. That said, Jake wouldn't make Rachel's mistake of telling everyone to use the same battle morph. There are times when Jake is guilty of thinking big cats are superior to all other morphs (#2, #11), just like Rachel mistakenly assumes bears are superior in #37, but Jake also excels at recognizing others' strengths.
I also think Jake would attack the one place Rachel doesn't: his own house. Rachel knows Tom's there alone in #37, but the other Animorphs tend not to touch Tom with a 10-foot pole because they know he's Jake's berserk button. Jake wouldn't want to trash his own house, but I could also see him getting defensive about not targeting Tom and declaring that it's time to go break his parents' shit and lightly injure his brother.
There might not be a final confrontation in the yeerk pool, without Rachel's mistake with the all-bear team. In which case, the inspector might survive, but garatrons might get used as hosts, but Visser Three might get removed, but someone worse might replace him. As Jake and Rachel conclude at the end: it's a wash, but at least they all lived to tell the tale.

Headcanon that Future Leo was really good with Casey Jr. while the kid was growing up, and this is largely because Leo had previously gotten a lot of experience looking after Hueso Jr. as well.

i love that ed clearly thinks the consortium agents are sent for the express purpose of being trained by fransisco, rather than the battle royale deathmatch and systematic breaking of wills they actually go through before becoming students

JUST started a good Durge playthrough and I'm dying over my absolute little guy bard Tinfoil.
#bg3#bg3 tav#baldurs gate 3#(Im a tag rambler so theres a lot here-) he's got voice six and because of that I'm opting he's incredibly INCREDIBLY young#like- probably 9? Dragonborn reach 10 year old human size at 3 for them so. yeah-#human-body wise he's about 17? but he's still got so little thoughts in his head. Which is canon as well at least#not gonna romance ANYONE as Tinfoil but we're gonna all be besties.#still deciding if he'll slurp tadpoles. he gives into peer preassure very easily and is very easily bossed around.#so it depends at the moment in the cutscene i guess.#he's the group kid. i think shadowheart would mother him a lot and he looks up to Karlach A SHITTON. 'She's so cool...'#'why is the group kid the leader?'#everyone shrugs but they see Tinfoil curl up around a small pile of gold and gems as he sleeps and they can't say no to what he wants to do#Lae'zel thinks he's 'extremely weak skinned. and needs all the help a pathetic youngling like him can get'#she says; helping said pathetic kid up off the nautaloid ship floor after he ran ahead to try and get to the controls; listening to her#like a good lil guy#'Tinfoil; darling; you know we can always get *more* gold if you give up some of these precious little rubies and opals. Your hoard#will look *much* more impressive that way.'#-Astarion; trying to convince a now-teary-eyed tinfoil to give up his hoard so the party can buy health potions#'its not...its not impressive?' he starts crying and Shadowheart has to comfort him#I KNOW he's gonna go murder mode and stuff. but everyone at camp thinks it's just dragonborn instincts kicking in#so they just like chain him to a tree for the night.#its funny i think#'NO! BAD TINFOIL! STOP TRYING TO EAT THE BIRDS!'#'Raughguguhguguh. Tinfoil *NEEDS* sauce...'#he is on a leash constantly because he is enamoured with the beauty of the world and runs off- but also to not kill and maim constantly.

Turn off the Super Bowl - it’s not important. Go open the news now.
I hope you all understand that Israel has begun attacking Rafah at night while people were asleep.
They are now attacking what few buildings still remain in the south, near the TENTS that contain nearly 2 MILLION starving Palestinians who were forced out of their homes because their city was LEVELLED. By the SAME people now bombing them.
Rafah is where the Zionazis ‘claimed’ is the ✌️ ‘safe zone’✌️ /wink wink for Palestinians (it never was. I warned people about believing this stupid lie for months). And although we were all telling you for months that it’s all a lie, and that Israel’s purpose of Oct 7 has ALWAYS been to erase every Palestinian, the West STILL SUPPORTS ISRAEL. They are STILL GIVING THEM WEAPONS AND MONEY.
Giving them all the resources they need to steal another people’s land. To level their city like the fucking Rumbling, then slowly and methodically kill of its population by locking them in a freezing, waterless desert with no food, water or basic amenities. Then speed it up by blowing up the people in tents. Starving, weakened, dehydrated people, many of which are just 10-year old orphans trying to keep their 5 and 3 and 2-year old siblings alive because every adult in their life is already dead.
This is a catastrophe beyond my comprehension. This is savagery and barbarity beyond nothing I’ve ever imagined. I pray every Zionazi dies a miserable, horrible death. I wish the same to their supporters.

kind of a dumb headcanon BUT i think whenever lance actually has some spare time (arceus knows he rarely has any of that) whenever he's not out and about with one of his Various Kids (kanto trio and johto quartet), i think he likes to knit. Specifically so that he can make stuff for the baby dratini in the dragon's den for the winter + stuff like hats and scarves for his own pokemon team. clair does the nearly the Exact Same Thing (crotcheting instead though), however, unlike lance, who would likely be calm about it being discovered (especially since silver would be the most likely to discover it since dad lance is real in my heart), clair would just Drop Kick the discoverer into oblivion (also likely silver. this time because it's funny)
