Tumblr media
They say that time will heal all wounds but it feels as if centuries has gone by and she is still bleeding out. Ever since she became more aware to what was around her, she has been haunted by what her father has introduced into her life. It is not that she blamed him, per se, but she is aware that if it weren’t for him, that mask and cloak wouldn’t disease her brain. That lifeless person dressed as the next Ghostface with the stupid, long, white mask accompanied with hollow eyes. That stupid idiot who decided that the franchise just can’t end and must be avenged.
Her dad told her all about it once she started getting involved. He never let her watch the Stab movies, saying “that’s not how you should find out about what has happened, what happened to your aunt. God you would have loved her, as she would have you”. She met Sidney, she met Gale, and she had Dewey as her father. It was inevitable that she would eventually find out about everything that has happened. What was too hopeful was that she would never end up being a part of the franchise and experience the trauma her father once has had to endure.
It truly started 12 years ago when Amelie first experienced Ghostface for herself. Luckily, somewhat, Ghostface notoriously is not known for killing children which landed her at least a couple of more guaranteed years of her life. It began again 11 years later, just last year, when some low life and his girlfriend decided to continue the franchise because he was just so obsessed with it. It was just last year when she finally met a good group of friends: Tara, Mindy, Chad, Wes, Amber, Liv, and eventually, Sam and Richie. It was just last year when she lost some of the people she cared about the most and was betrayed by some she grew to grow find of. It was just last year where her scars formed, mentally and physically. And it was just last year she lost the one person she never thought would leave, never thought she would have to part from, the one she truly cared about the most: her dad, Dewey Riley. Now it would be her turn to eventually tell her children, God you would have loved him so much. He would have cherished you until the end of time, as he did me.
To say she was taking this new life in New York difficult would be an understatement. She lost her dad, her friends, and was betrayed by people she trusted, of course her life wouldn’t be smooth sailing for a long time. She will give it to Sam though for pushing her to move to New York with them and go to school. Along with Gale who helped push the education agenda. Though it really was because Gale told her to “think of your dad, this is what he would have wanted. He would be so proud of you if you did this”. She remembers rolling her eyes when she was told that but also felt like sobbing on the inside. She hates being talked to about people who could have been involved in her current life but are dead, but she also knows that it is in efforts to remind her of the ones who love (or would have loved) her dearly. Anyways, moving has helped her get a new breath of air and start at life, even if it’s not with the person she loved the most. However, having her group of friends and their attachment of doing literally everything together has distracted her just the right amount. Specifically, the Woodsboro gang who survived last year’s attack with her- Tara, Sam, Mindy, and Chad- who are closer than they ever have been before. Trauma bonded; she may even call it.
Besides having her friends nearby, she has attempted to go to counselling after she broke down with a bottle of cheap vodka in front of Sam only a couple of months after the attacks. Sam stayed with her the entire night after seeing the state Amelie was in and soon enough it became a night to just cry and hold one another for both. So, as Sam was adamant on seeking a therapist as soon as they moved to New York, she encouraged both Amelie and Tara to do the same. Amelie did go for a mere three days, slowly expressing how she feels about all the emotions bottled up in her small body before she gave up on talking to a stranger. She felt so humiliated and overwhelmed by her inability stop crying that she eventually became so angry at everything. And while expressing these emotions are exactly what therapists are meant to deal with, she vowed to never step foot into their office again feeling like they didn’t really care about what she was saying and that she was merely another lump of sum in their bank account. She doesn’t mind too much, though, she has her friends beside her now and they all know exactly what she has gone through. She also has Gale who, even though she reminds Gale so much of Dewey it physically hurts, is still very involved with her life and is always checking up on her.
Besides the obvious, to say that last year’s events fucked her up, they royally fucked her up. Amber was one of her best friends who she would even have considered her greatest friend, before she found out who Amber really was. Then there was Wes who Amelie liked, like really liked. Finding out he was brutally murdered was when she saw her world start falling apart, slowly, and then all at once. It makes her sick to her stomach now as she recalls what happened and how someone who she cherished so dearly to her, was capable of being so heartless and kill someone who she also cherished so dearly. As every other one of her friends, her trust issues are exceptionally high, and she is more than reluctant to involve new people into her life. The only acceptable people seemed to be Anika, Mindy’s girlfriend, who she does love and seemingly trust since Mindy does as well. And she makes Mindy incredibly happy. Then there is Quinn who is her, Sam’s, and Tara’s roommate. They do live with her which makes them kind of have to trust her and her dad is a cop, as was hers once. And then there is Ethan, Chad’s roommate. His shy and dorky demeanour makes him scream INNOCENT! But alas, that could also make him the perfect backstabber of them all. Everyone else seems to trust him and he does seem like an alright person, so she also is giving him a chance. Plus, he’s cute. However, whatever her desire she may have for the cute new boy would have to stay just that. As she relents letting new people close to her to prevent the risk of losing them, she also fears that he just may never look at her the same way. As she tries to subdue the fluttering feeling in her tummy when Ethan talks to her, she is also missing the loud thump of his heart when she replies. It appears to be obvious to everyone around them, but them. Th soft eye contact and rosy cheeks so innocent that Amelie often feels like she is seeing the world in white when around him. But she hides the idea that she may like him to prevent the red splatters that will coat the white lens and he will make it painfully obvious that he would literally kill for her but is just too shy to make a move.
As she moves on with her life in a new state and with good people, she finds herself wallowing in what has happened and what could be if everything was different. But she also finds herself looking forward to see what can and will happen. With steady people, a new location, and an education ahead of her, she takes small steps at a time in life and pushing the obstacles in her way with one last thing on her mind: for her dad, for Dewey.

Right In Front Of Me
Tumblr media
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Summary: Wanda’s your best friend. The only person who knows you completely. So if she’s your friend, why does her going on a date bother you so much?
Warnings: None
A/N: 1. men ain't shit so here's a wlw fic. 2. I am 100% up to write a second part to this if you guys are interested?
Tumblr media
Parents call their kids special every day. It’s nothing new. Moms and Dads all over the world think their kid is unique and that they’re different from every other child out there. Your parents though? They were spot on. You were special, and not in the way they led you to believe.
You first learned about your powers when you were 13 years old. One minute you’re eating dinner with your parents. Discussing math tests over spaghetti. Then you felt a rush of warmth and suddenly they were eating with famous singer Stevie Nicks. (Who you had just been listening to prior to the meal). It didn’t take long for the lot of you to realize that by special, it meant mutant. Somehow, someway you were born with the ability to shapeshift. If you can picture the person, you can become that person. DNA and all.
For the next four years, you felt alone. You learned to control your ability, and not just shapeshift all the time. But you still couldn’t let anyone get close to you. They could find out and put you in harm’s way. So no friends, or boyfriends. Just you and your parents. And you got used to being lonely. It was what was best.
Until one day when you were 17, and Tony Stark appeared at your door with an offer to become an Avenger. You had no idea how he knew, but if he could find out so could someone else. So after a quick conversation with your parents, you packed up and moved to New York to live with actual superheroes.
It was then you met Wanda. A gorgeous girl your age, who dressed witchily and was a mutant. Just like you. She was the first person to understand what it was like. To fear what you were capable of, and to know what it’s like to hide yourself to save face. It was almost instantly the pair of you became friends. You even moved into the room beside hers and spent every possible moment you could with the girl.
Shopping trips were common (avenger’s got a nice stipend, and you had no bills), movie nights were mandatory, and just grabbing lunch dates was common between the two of you. You were attached at the hip and finally felt like you had someone in your life you could trust.
Until today.
Wanda came into your room bubbly as always and announced, “I have a date.” Suddenly it wasn’t such a good day and you didn’t know why. All your energy immediately drained and your stomach felt tight.
“With who?” you asked walking towards your connected bathroom to avoid facing her.
“Vision! He asked me to dinner,” she yelled laying back on your bed. You could hear her sigh happily.
“That’s exciting,” you say with forced enthusiasm. Why was this bothering you so much? You should be happy your friend has a date.
“You’ll help me get ready, won’t you?” she asks as you leave the bathroom.
“That’s what best friends are for,” you reply sincerely.
“Thank you!” she says and kisses your cheek before running out of the room. You move your hand to where her lips met your skin. Huh.
A few days later you were over Peter’s house to help with homework. You met him through Tony and became friends. He was the person you felt closest to after Wanda. And he was close to your age.
You’d spent the last few days confused, angry, and in a funk and everyone let you. The adults of the tower just thought it was teenage angst. But Peter called you out on it.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” he asks between calculus questions.
“Yup totally fine!” you say half paying attention to him.
“Hey,” he says closing the textbook and looking at you. “You know you can talk to me.”
“I don’t know what’s wrong!” you sigh dramatically, “Wanda said she had a date and now I’m completely off. That’s weird right?” you ask ashamed. You should be happy for your friend.
“Can I ask a question?” he says and you smile back at him.
“Always”
“Do you think you have feelings for Wanda?” he says quietly.
“No,” you say unconvincingly, “No!” you repeat. “She’s my best friend. We hang out a lot, but it’s because we’re close. And I mean it’s normal to think she’s cute right? Anyone can see she’s attractive. Her soft skin, and pretty lips. Visions lucky really. She’s a great girl.”
Then after a moment, your eyes go wide and you turn to Peter.
In a really soft whisper, you say, “I think I’m in love with Wanda. And gay.”
“Woah,” is Peter’s response.
“Woah,” you confirm. You’re crying now and Peter pulls you in tight.
“It’s gonna be okay. You’re going to be okay,” he says and kisses the top of your head while holding you as you cry.
After crying, you were pretty tired and sent Tony a text letting him know you were spending the night at Peter’s. He was fine with it and after Peter explained to Aunt May that you were having a bit of a gay awakening. She brought in a plate of Oreos and told you she loved you before letting the two of you watch a movie in peace.
The next day after school you headed back to the tower to find Wanda getting ready for her date with Vision. She asked you to help do her hair, and you did while the two of you chatted about things. But as you braided her long hair you realized you really and truly were in love with her. You wanted to kiss her and hold her and date her. But she was going out with Vision, so you put that part down deep inside you and tried your best to be happy for her.
“I’ll see you later!” she says as she grabs her purse and heads to the door.
“Have fun!” you tell her and head back to your room.
You grab the book your reading and decide to just immerse yourself into it rather than let your brain wander. Until two hours later a visually distressed Wanda opens your door.
“I thought you were on a date?” you ask and she tugs her hair out of the braid you did. She walks over to your mirror and groans at her mascara tears. “Wanda?” you ask getting up to go see what happened.
“So,” she says drawing out the oh sound. “It turns out I am in love with you.”
“Wait WHAT?” you ask and she laughs at your shocked face.
“It took me on a date with a non-human man to realize that I’ve been in love with my best friend for a while,” she says laughing hysterically.
“I love you too,” you rush out then put your hand over your mouth.
“You do?” she says and giggles. “What a mess we are.”
“You,” you say laughing, “Need to start your story from the top.”
“I do don’t I?” she says smiling. She grabs your arm and the two of you sit on the bed sitting with your legs crisscrossed and knees touching.
“Well,” she starts, “I was on the date with Vis. And he took me to the zoo, and it was nice. But apparently I kept talking about you. A lot. So much so in fact, he pointed it out. Said ‘You seem to talk about Y/N an abundant amount. It would seem you have feelings for her.’ Then it felt like a light bulb and I started crying and he brought me home, and I told him he’s sweet. But I can’t be with him.”
You can’t help but have a smile across your face. On the one hand, it all feels fast. Realizing your feelings, realizing your identity, and learning she feels the same way. But on the other hand? This feels right. It feels like you always should’ve been together.
“I can’t believe this whole time you were right in front of me, and I didn’t see it,” she says and leans in closer to you.
“You’re telling me. So, you’ll be my girlfriend now?” you ask.
“Of course dragoste,” she says and finally leans in close enough to meet her lips to yours.
Her lips are soft and taste faintly of strawberries. Her eyes flutter close as soon as you reach a hand to brush her hair from her face, and you let yours close too. You need to savor the moment, although you’re sure there’s many more to come. Your other hand grips her waist as if telling her to stay. And she uses her hands to cup your face. The kiss lights fireworks inside you, and all you want to do is kiss her forever now. She moves softly against you and the two of you part ways and stares into each other’s eyes.
“I love you,” she says again.
“I love you too,” you repeat once more. And you know you’ll be repeating these words to her millions more times.

Getting Off The Wrong Foot
[Christian Yu | Chapter XI]
Tumblr media
Previous Chapters:
Chapter I | Chapter II | Chapter III | Chapter IV | Chapter V | Chapter VI | Chapter VII | Chapter VIII | Chapter IX | Chapter X
“Are you falling for me too?“ He asked, his eyes locked with yours. Your widened eyes rested on him, not blinking. You spent a few seconds staring at him, your brain unable to formulate a thought. It was a question you didn’t expect at all, especially not coming for him.
“You’re worried? Wanna make a run for it?“ You then broke out into a deep rumbling laughter. Joking - that’s how you dealt with situations you weren’t comfortable with. He couldn’t have been serious anyway, could he? But unlike yours, his face showed no sign of amusement. Usually he would join you and laugh at your jokes, even if they weren’t funny to begin with. But this time, not a muscle on his face twitched. He looked at you deadpan. Was he afraid that you might cling onto him like other girls did? Was he afraid to lose his freedom?
“You’ve been a good friend to me, plus the sex is good. But that’s it. You’re safe. Nothing to be worried about. I’m not falling for you, Christian,” you assured him and you meant it. How could you fall in love with him, when your heart still belonged to someone else? He sighed shortly. Was it a sigh of relief or disappointment? You couldn’t read the expression on his face nor could you guess what was going through his mind right now. You had agreed early on that this would only be physical thing. Why was he suddenly worried about it turning into something more? Admittedly you were a hopeless romantic, but you weren’t over Kiseok yet and he knew, it was the reason you slept with him in the first place. If you had met him under different circumstances, maybe then things would have been different. But there was no room, to think about what ifs.
“Good, ‘cause I’m really not looking for a relationship,” he then said with a confidence that didn’t sound very convincing, but you shook it off with a shrug. You didn’t want to start questioning him now.
“Good, me neither,” you agreed with him.
~*~
Keeping up the act was quite exhausting and you were slowly beginning to regret having agreed to it in the first place. It didn’t cross your mind that fooling his family wouldn’t be as easy as you had imagined. They knew him inside out while you barely had gotten to know him. You spent most of your time with physical activities and afterwards you were both so exhausted you would go straight to sleep. There was no room for pillow talks. So when his relatives told you stories about him, it felt as though they were describing a completely different person, a stranger. You learned a lot more about him in the span of a few hours than you did over the past few weeks. Ever since you stepped inside this house your entire body felt tensed, you were in constant fear that someone might see through it. Despite your worries, the afternoon went by without any mishaps on your part. You just had to endure a couple more hours, before you could go home, you thought to yourself. But before you could face his relatives again, you needed a moment to yourself. A moment where you could be yourself, not Christian’s fake girlfriend. When nobody was paying attention to you, you quickly escaped to the balcony that was attached to the living room. You took a slow controlled breath and attempted to loosen your body movements. You felt the fresh spring breeze fill your lungs. Winter hadn’t fully passed yet, it was still rather cold outside. Crossing your arms, you leaned them against the railing. Your eyes watched the sun slowly setting behind the buildings at the horizon. The sun casted it golden rays down upon the rooftops, painting the sky shades of orange and pink. Taking this beautiful sight in, your body could finally relax a little.
You heard the balcony door open and close behind you. You didn’t turn around, because you knew the sound of those footsteps. Christian stepped next to you and also leaned against the railing, his eyes following yours, taking in the picture-perfect sight in front of you.
“Are you cold?” He asked when he saw how lightly you were dressed. Without waiting for your answer, he slid the suit jacked down his shoulders, but you stopped him midway. You pulled it back over his shoulders, adjusting it neatly.
“Keep it on. You just recovered from your cold,” you reminded him. He had been lying sick in bed the past few days. Since his fever was quite high you dropped by almost every day after work to check on him. He didn’t really have anyone else to take care of him so you took it upon yourself. It was in your nature as the elder sister to worry too much. You were used to taking care of your sick brother, it wasn’t any different with Christian. It were the same symptoms and you knew exactly what he needed to heal quickly.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized out of the blue.
You turned your head to the side, looking at him through narrowed eyes. You didn’t understand what he was apologzing for. “My family can be a pain in the arse.”
You shook your head at him with a little smile planted on your lips. “They’re lovely people.” “You think?”
“My family is not that big. I only have an uncle. He never had kids so I’ve never experienced something like this. It’s quite fun, except for the interrogation part,” you chuckled lightly. It was the first time you experienced a family reunion like this. Your own family wasn’t that close, you never met up for holidays or birthdays. Your uncle only ever called when he needed something.
“You’re lucky my aunt hasn’t found the time to talk to you yet,” he told you playfully as he lightly nudged your elbow with his. “I don’t think she can be worse than your cousins.”
“Why? What did they do?” A wide grin played on his lips.
“They asked way too many questions! It felt like my brain was exploding coming up with lies to tell,” you whined. “What kind of questions did they ask?” “How we met, who confessed first, if you’re romantic, how our sex life is, if you treat me good,—“
“Our sex life?” Christian repeated with arched brows. You could see the smug smirk on his lips even though he was trying to hide it. Of course, out of everything you had said, it was that part that caught his attention. “What did you say?” “I said it was good,” you shrugged your shoulders nonchalantly, deciding to completely omitting the part where you fantasized about him.
“Just good? That’s an understatement, you make me look bad!” He grabbed his chest, pretending to feel offended. “You should have said that I am the best you ever had.”
“That would’ve been a lie though,” you immediately retorted without thinking.
“I’m not your best?” He asked you in a high-pitched voice, looking at you in disbelief. “Who is then?”
Christian was, but you didn’t want to admit it to someone whose ego was as big as his. No, you would never admit it to him, because then you wouldn’t hear the end of it. “Kiseok?” He took a guess as you didn’t answer his question. Even now you remained silent. “The way you described him I thought he was a rather selfish lover. Guess he was doing something right,” he then said trying to provoke a reaction from you. Suddenly Christian shifted in his position. He stood in front of you, his hands grabbing the railing, his arms either side of you trapping you in between.
“Let me redeem myself, then.” He leaned his muscular body against yours, pressing your back against the cold railing. You felt a shiver run down your spine. “I’ll be the best you ever had.” One of his hand slid under your dress, pushing the soft fabric up your thighs. Then it worked its way to your butt, giving it a tight squeeze. His head moved closer and  he covered your mouth with his in a hungry kiss.
“Your family, Christian,” you reminded him sharply as you were struggling to push him away. Truth be told, you actually didn’t want him to stop there, but you weren’t going to embarrass yourself today. Not in front of so many strangers that he called his family. It was only a glass door that separated you from his entire family. Even though they couldn’t see you because of the thick curtain hanging over the door, it was too risky. Somebody could have come barging  in at any given moment.
“I don’t think I can wait ‘till we get home,” he groaned at the loss of contact. He tried to kiss you again, but you quickly turned your head to the side. Then you felt something hard pressing against your lower abdomen. You lowered your gaze and your jar dropped open at the sight of the bulge in his pants. “You’re unbelievable, Christian,” you shook your head at him as you threw him a glare.
“I can’t help it,” he whined. He bit down on his bottom lip as his eyes caressed your body.
“You look so sexy today,” he whispered in your ear, before kissing your ear lobe. You felt his hot, uncontrolled breath brushing against your skin. “C’mon, Min.” “Nope,” you shook your head. “Your whole family is right on the other side of the door!”
“Don’t make me beg for it,” he whispered in a pleading tone. He almost had you there, the expression on his face, his deep voice and the way he was looking at you. It was too much for you to handle, you needed to get out of there, before you would give in to him.
“Take care of it yourself,” you told him, trying to sound as cold and sharp as possible. You smoothly wriggled out of his arms and walked towards the door. “Fuck,” a deep groan left his mouth. “Can you at least stay with me until…my dick has calmed down.”
“Fine,” you turned back again and walked towards him as your eyes mustered him.
“Shit, Minhee, don’t look at me like that. It’s not helping,” he complained out of the blue. “That’s my face!” “Turn around,” he ordered. Not waiting for you to follow his instructions, he grabbed your shoulders and turned you the other way. He closed his eyes, trying to distract himself, trying not to think about the things he wanted to do with you. But the image of your naked body kept reappearing inside of his head and he was getting more and more turned on by the second. “I just took a huge dump today,” you said out of the blue. His eyes shot open. “What?” “It was really nasty and it smelt horribly.” You thought the more disgusting the story you invented was, the quicker his erection would disappear.
“That’s information I didn’t need to know.”
“Did it help though?” “Not at all,” he shook his head with a laugh.“I’m gonna go to the restroom. You need to cover for me though.” He walked behind you so nobody could see his little friend down there. When you reached the restroom, you parted with him. You went back to the living room where the party was at. As you were standing in the room like a lost puppy, his mother walked over to you and kept you company. Although she did ask you a couple questions, she didn’t make you feel like you were being interrogated. The way she was speaking to you, you were the one that wanted to tell her more about yourself. That’s the power she had. You ended up revealing a bit more about yourself than you had originally planned.
“To be honest, I was a bit scared he wouldn’t be able to love again after Nayeon.”
It was the first time someone mentioned the name of his ex and judging by the how softly she spoke about her, she must have liked her quite a bit. His ex must have gotten along well with his mother. She probably fooled her just like she had Christian wrapped around her fingers. But how was what you were doing right now any different to how his ex played everybody? You weren’t being truthful either, so how could you condemn someone else for doing exactly what you were doing right now.
“He’s someone with a big heart. He just needs to find the right person to give it to. I’m really glad he’s found you. When he told me about you he was grinning from ear to ear. I missed that boyish, carefree look on him. He seems to be really fond of you.” “I don’t think so,” you blurted out without thinking. His mother had such high hopes for you, it didn’t feel right to be lying to her.
“Don’t say something like that, dear. Rome wouldn’t introduce a girl he wasn’t serious about to the family. And I can see why he likes you so much.” “No…he…I-I mean…” you stuttered when you couldn’t find the right words to explain the situation. “We’re not really dating. I’m sorry for lying to you,“ you blurted out without thinking.
“If you’re not his girlfriend, then…” His mother looked at you confused. “I’m just a friend. He asked me to come, because his aunts were pressuring him so much. I’m really sorry.” “It’s ok, dear. My sisters can be kind of…obtrusive sometimes,” she agreed with a laugh. She didn’t seem to be caught off guard by the new information. You expected her to be angry with you, but she seemed to be taking it rather relaxed.
“But your son is a really great guy. I’m sure he’ll find the right person,” you meant what you said. Those were probably the first true words that you had said today.
“Sometimes you miss the forest for the trees.”
“What do you mean?” “Never mind. There he is, I’ll leave you two alone,” she nodded to Christian who had just  appeared in the crowd.
~*~
“What were you talking about with my mum?” “I kinda fucked up. I’m sorry,” you admitted straight away as you swallowed down. “What happened?”
“I couldn’t lie to your mom. She knows we’re just pretending.” You expected him to be angry. He had been a great emotional support to you without asking for anything in return. It was only one simple favor, yet you couldn’t even manage to get through the day without messing up. “Well, it’s my mum,” he sighed and shrugged his shoulders. “She probably knew anyway.”
“You’re not angry?”
“Why would I be?” He looked at you dumbfounded as he let out a laugh. “I got my aunts off my back. That’s what I wanted in the first place.”
“I’ll go get some drinks.” “No,” you hurriedly grabbed his hand, pulling him back. “Please don’t leave me alone with your family,” you said with panic in your eyes. You weren’t sure you would survive another interrogation by his cousins.
“Okay,” he chuckled softly. “I won’t leave your side.” “You can let me go, you know?” He looked down and your eyes followed his. You didn’t realize you were still holding his hand until he pointed it out.
“Sorry,” you quickly pulled your hand back as if touching fire while an awkward chuckle left your lips.
~*~
[Time leap]
“Mum, we’re heading home first. Minhee has a meeting early in the morning.“
“Where is she?“ His mother looked left and right, searching for you.”She’s waiting in the car.“ Christian wanted to bid goodbye to his mother, but after the incident between you and his mother, it didn’t feel right to appear in front of her again. You felt too guilty for lying.
“Confess to her before it’s too late.“ “What?“ He looked at his mother with big eyes, completely startled by her words. “Mum, it’s not like that. I just asked her to pretend to be my girflfriend, so I won’t have to go on those stupid blind dates.“ “Rome, when do you ever learn that you cannot deceive your own mother? I know my son. And I know when he is in love.”
“I’m not in love with her. Really. She’s a just good friend,“ he denied again as he shook his head. He knew once his mother was set on something, there was no changing her mind whether she was actually right or wrong. But why was he so adamant in proving her wrong right now? Whom was he trying to convince?
“Don’t wait too long or you might miss your chance.“
“I don’t even like her that way. Neither does she,” he tried to explain to his mother.
“I see the way you look at her. That’s not the look of someone who’s looking at his friend…” “Mum, it’s really not like that. She’s a good friend…and she’s in love with someone else anyway. She was just trying to help me out because I asked her.”
“If you wait too long to acknowledge your feelings, you might lose her.”
~*~
Ever since Christian returned to the car he had been rather quiet. He didn’t talk a lot throughout the ride and it made you wonder if you had said something to irritate him. You tried to backtrack your conversations with him. He didn’t seem angry when you had told him that his mother knew the truth. He was still goofing around with you afterwards. It was only after he went in again to say goodbye to his mother that his mood suddenly changed. It must have had something to do with his mother, you concluded. “Did your mom scold you? I’m sorry. It just didn’t feel right to lie to her.“ “Nah everything’s good,“ Christian quickly shook it off and gave you a reassuring smile. It was a half-hearted smile. You could tell his mind was somewhere else and he didn’t put in much effort to hide it.
“Why are you so quiet then?“ You probed further. “I’m just a bit tired.“ He closed his eyelids and crossed his arms in front of his chest, sinking into the seat. You reached out one of your hands while the other held the wheel, your eyes still focused on the roads. You touched his forehead to check his temperature which made him flinch. “What are you doing?“ He pushed himself into an upright position, his full attention now on you. “Checking your temperature.“ “I’m good.“ “You sure?“ His forehead was warm, it wasn’t quite a fever yet, but it wasn’t the normal  body temperature either. “I’m fine, Minhee,“ he chuckled.
“Then what’s going through your mind?“
Christian looked away from you, then down at his shoes. Still not meeting your eyes, he touched the watch on his wrist and played with it for a moment. The car remained utterly silent. You heard the sound of his breaths, irregular and shaky.
“What you said earlier…”
“What exactly?“ You had spent the entire day with him and his family, you had said a lot of things to him. It was impossible to remember everything or guess what he was referring to. “You said you’re not falling in love with me.“ “You’re still worried about that?“ You chuckled, your shoulders falling in relief. You thought it was something serious, but if it was only that bothering him, he had nothing to worry about. “How can you be so sure? I mean it’s possible that you do, isn’t it?“
You spent a moment thinking about it, but you couldn’t imagine dating him, or dating anyone in general right now. “I don’t think that’s gonna happen.“ “Why not?“ “You’re not my type,“ you answered shortly and simply. “What is your type?“ “Well, for starters someone who’s not afraid of commitment.“
“I’ve been in relationships,“ he pointed out matter-of-factly.
“I know, but…you don’t want to be in one right now, do you?“
“Where did you get that idea?”
“You said that! And you’re not really making an effort in meeting someone or going on dates.”
He didn’t say anything, he couldn’t say anything. After all you were right and he couldn’t dispute that. He was way too busy to meet someone new and go on dates. Getting to know someone was a time-consuming activity and he didn’t have time left to spare. The time he had, he wanted to spend with you.
“Ian, you don’t have to worry,” you assured him again. “I don’t even wanna be in a  romantic relationship right now, neither do you. I want some time for myself, you know. Just focusing on work and myself, I’ve been neglecting that for too long. It’s just sex, no feelings involved.” You words were supposed to give him assurance. You thought that was what he wanted to hear, but they had a different effect him. Christian remained silent again. He glanced out of the window, then at his feet. His gaze danced around, avoiding yours.
”If you’re that worried that I might catch feelings, we could just stop-”
“I don’t wanna stop,” he replied almost immediately as though it was a reflex. “What is it that you want then?”
He didn’t answer that question, because he knew he couldn’t have what he wanted. He’d be asking for too much. “You’re right,” he let out a shaky breath. For a moment, there was no sound.
“Let’s stop.”
~*~
You parked his car in the underground garage of his apartment. You turned off the engine and pulled out the keys, before returning them to their owner.
“I can’t drive you home, because I drank,” he said with an apologetic look on his face.
“I know, I’ll just take a cab.” “You can stay, you know,” he offered as he awkwardly scratched the back his head. “And do what?” Whenever one of you stayed for the night, there was only one purpose. But sex was out of question now that you both came to the mutual agreement to stop. Staying for the night and not sleeping with each other seemed weird to you. It felt wrong.
“Right…” he let out an awkward chuckle. “Text me, when you’re home.”
~*~
[Time leap]
You were brushing you hair when you heard the sound of the door bell. You hurriedly walked to the intercom while your hands were busy tying your hair into a bun which was rather difficult without a mirror. At times like these, you wondered why you let your hair grow that long in the first place. It would be a lot easier if you just chopped everything off. You turned on the speaker function and told Christian that you would be down in a minute.
“I’ll come upstairs.”
“Why?” You wondered, but still pressed the button to open the door. I felt a bit weird, he hadn’t taken a step inside your apartment since you both agreed to stop the physical activities. All you ever did at home was related to sex, that’s why you never bothered to invite him in again. You left your apartment door ajar so he could enter himself and stepped in front of the mirror to fix your bun. You heard the door closing, before Christian appeared in front of you. He was carrying a small wooden box in his hands.
“What’s that?” Your eyes followed him.
“Peaches,” he answered shortly before he led himself into your kitchen with you following behind. He placed it down on the kitchen counter. Clapping his hands together, to wipe off the dust. You stepped next to him and took a peak inside.
“My aunt grows them in her garden. She sent me two boxes of it and told me to share them with my girlfriend,“ he said with emphasis on the last word. “The perks of being Rome’s fake girlfriend,” you said playfully as you took a quick look at the peaches. They looked delicious. Smiling to yourself, you felt a warm and fuzzy feeling, a feeling you weren’t unfamiliar with. Kiseok’s parents had a little farm where they grew their own crops and they would always sent you some. They made you feel welcomed and loved, just like Christian’s family did. The only difference was that their friendliness was based on a lie. You weren’t really deserving of it.
“Let’s go.” Christian saw the subtle change in your facial expression, so he tried to divert your attention to something else. You quickly grabbed a jacket and followed him to the elevator which really took its time.
“You sure you wanna watch that movie?” He asked you out of the blue. “Why? What’s wrong with it? I heard it was good.” “I read some reviews…” His face turned dark.
“Don’t tell me you’re scared?“ You broke out into rumbling laughter. You didn’t think he would be scared of horror movies. He always gave a reliable and gutsy impression, someone who wasn’t scared of anything.
“A little bit?“ He chuckled shyly. “I mean…you should have read the reviews!“ “You said you liked horror movies!” “I don’t.” Since none of your friends wanted to watch that movie with you, you had bothered Christian for over a week until he finally gave in.
“Why did you agree then?” “‘Cause I missed you.”
Your body froze for a brief moment as you blinked at him, a sudden warmth shooting through your body.
“Now you’re just sweet-talking me,“ you chuckled lightly as you rolled your eyes.
“Did it work though?“ He grinned at you playfully.
“A little bit,“ you winked at him with a smile.
“So we’re not watching that stupid horror movie?“
“Well, I don’t want you to wet your pants at night,“ you took this perfect opportunity to tease, a smirk spreading across your face.
In this moment a high-pitched tone indicated that the elevator had just arrived. The door slid open, revealing a silhouette standing on the other side. You didn’t pay much attention as you were immersed in the conversation with Christian. Without looking, you walked straight into the elevator. Christian quickly pulled you back, stopping you from bumping into the person in front of you. Confused you looked up, your entire body froze and a string of nerves tightened in your ribs upon seeing that familiar face.
“Kiseok…,” you whispered to yourself, still not believing your eyes.
“Can we talk?” He asked you with caution, his voice sounded soft.
“I-I…actually have plans right now.” You wanted the words to be firm, strong, but instead your voice was shaking. You glanced at Christian, with your eyes you pleaded him to help you to get out of this sticky situation, but he didn’t seem to get it, or maybe he did, but he just chose to ignore it.
“I’ll give you two some privacy. I’ll wait in the car,” he told you as he walked into the elevator, leaving your side. No, no, no, Christian, don’t leave me, you shook your head slightly, giving him all the signs you could think of to make him stay. But he didn’t. He waited for Kiseok to leave the elevator, before he pushed the button that brought him to the ground floor.
Fuck, you cursed inside of your head. You didn’t know what to feel right now, overwhelmed with contradictory emotions. You were angry with Christian, as he left you alone with Kiseok without a second thought. You didn’t want to talk to Kiseok. Christian out of everyone should have known how much you dreaded seeing him again. Yet he left. You felt betrayed by someone you thought would have your back when you needed him. At the same time you felt hurt and scared of the conversation that was about to come.
“What do you want, Kiseok? Did Jay send you?“ You quickly regained your composure, not wanting him to see you in a vulnerable state. “No, I decided to come myself.“
“Why? You have more insults you want to rid yourself of?“ You asked him in a mocking tone. “I’m sorry for how I behaved at the party. It was inappropriate,” he said out of the sudden. An apology coming from him was the thing you least expected. “I got jealous when I saw you with him.“ It had been a while since you heard honest words coming out of his mouth. “And you thought picking a fight with me in public would it make it better?“ You snarled back at him with sarcasm.
“No…I-I didn’t think at all to be honest. I had one too many and I leashed out at you.“ You knew it was a sincere apology, yet you weren’t satisfied. You weren’t sure what you wanted to hear from him, but nothing he said could subdue the anger you felt towards him. It wasn’t only anger either, more than anything you felt hurt and betrayed. “You’re excuses are getting worse.“ “Look, Minhee, it’s not easy for me. We’ve been together for so long.“ “And you think it’s easy for me?“ You looked at him in disbelief as you let out a scoff.
“Well, you’ve found yourself someone else pretty quickly.“ “It was just sex.“ You didn’t even know why you felt the need to set it straight. It was none of his business anyway. It was your life which he wasn’t a part of anymore due to his own doing. “I saw the way you looked at him.“ “And how am I looking at him?“ “The same way you used to look at me.“ You shook your head at him and let out a chuckle in disbelief. “God, you’re so paranoid. I’m not in love with him. I think I’d be the first one to know if I like someone or not.”
“What is he doing here then? I know you, Min. You don’t invite just anyone to your home.” You had no idea how the apology turned into an interrogation and you didn’t feel comfortable with the direction the conversation took.
“I don’t owe you an explanation, Kiseok.” “It’s just unfair that you get to move on with your life while I’m still miserable.“ “You have no right to say that. You walked out on us the moment you fucked her and lied to me.“ “I only lied to you because I didn’t want to hurt you and I didn’t want to lose you.“
“Well, you hurt me and you lost me, so that plan of yours didn’t work out very well, did it?“
“I’ve made a mistake, Minhee. I know that and I know it’s not something I can’t fix with a simple apology. But I’m trying. I’m really trying to fix it, because I can’t throw away the past four years just like that. You mean too much to me. I can’t just let you go like that. I can’t give up like this.”
In the silence that followed, you broke your gaze preferring instead to rest your eyes on the elevator behind him. “Is there nothing I can do to win back your trust?“ “I don’t know,” you answered truthfully. Would you ever be able to trust him again after all the lies he had told? Would you ever be able to believe his words without having any doubts? Was his word even worth anything anymore?
“Will you ever be able to forgive me?“ “I don’t know, Kiseok.“ “Do you still have feelings for me?“
Wow, this was a pretty long chapter! The longest yet I think? Hope it wasn’t too boring to read haha. What do you guys think? Is his mother right? Why did Christian leave so suddenly? What will Minhee's answer be? Are you Team Kiseok or Team Christian? Looking forward to reading your comments! :) And I hope you all are staying healthy!

@schese
Chapter 3: “Far From Angelic”
The royal wedding is happening in Scotland while Millie is home in Texas for the holidays, this is the longest they’ve been apart since they’d started dating and Millie finds that she is missing her girlfriend more than she anticipated.
Millie’s alarm tore through her peaceful sleep at the ungodly hour of 2:30 am. Groans came from around the room as she flailed blindly to turn it off. Every ounce of will power she had was used to drag herself from bed and into the sticky Texas air. Even during December it was still hot.
Without thinking she shoved Lee awake and loudly told Jude and Darcy -who were on the other side of the room still asleep- to get up and come downstairs. Things were strange with Jude still but they were getting better. Going away to Scotland had done her a world of good, well that, and the gorgeous princess she’d fallen for. She’d been emailing back and forth with Flora every day since she’d come back home and Flora had gone back to Edinburgh for the wedding.
The wedding. That was the reason for her being up before the sun. This morning over a thousand miles away Prince Alexander was getting married and it was being broadcasted live all over the world and she and her friends were going to watch it.
They crawled down the stairs and crammed onto the couch, Darcy was asleep again as soon as she sat down. Lee started flipping through the channels searching for the program they needed. In the kitchen, Millie could hear her aunt Vi moving around making them breakfast and hopefully coffee. After clicking down the brightness Millie checked her phone to see a yellow notification.
A Snapchat from Nicola. They had exchanged social medias after their brief meeting but they had never reached out and on a day as hectic as this one she was confused as to why she would.
The video was from hours ago, that would be early even for the people in Scotland. She clicked it and the video that played brought a grin to her face.
Familiar golden hair and eyes appeared along with a dazzling grin. Her girlfriend’s makeup was done elegantly but her hair was still down and she seemed to be wearing some kind of silk robe. Behind her a cluster of makeup and hair people moved throughout the room. “Hello love!” She sang, giving a small wave. Ears perked up around the room and her friends leaned in closer to watch the video. “ I know you’re still asleep but I just wanted to say I miss you and I wish you were here.”
Millie’s heart skipped a beat and she is filled with an overwhelming longing for her girlfriend. They’d only been dating for a few months but she missed her like a missing limb now that they were apart. Long distance was not going to be easy.
A distant voice comes through now from somewhere beyond the phone,” Who are you talking to?” then Daisy’s face appears over Flora’s shoulder, with a champagne glass in hand. Next to her Lee leaned his head on her shoulder, letting his eyes start to drupe shut again.
“I’m sending a message to Quint,” Flora started, then backtracked,” Millie,” so that the others know who she is talking about.
“Hi Millie,” Daisy smiled, “I’m jealous that you’re still asleep right now” Millie chuckled as a voice that she couldn’t make out and was definitely in a different language got Flora’s attention.
“Got to go darling, time for hair,” she blew a kiss at the camera before it turned black.
She halfheartedly raked her fingers through her hair as she started to send a reply. “I am awake,” she announced as a form of greeting. “And so are all of my friends, well most of my friends,” she glanced around and to say they were awake would be a definite white lie,” and we are ready to watch this wedding.” Somewhere along the way someone’s legs ended up in her lap, they were all piled on top of each other so she didn’t know who they belonged to.
“You look beautiful by the way,” Millie stifled a yawn and offered a sleepy smile. “And you need to remember to thank Nicola for letting you use her phone to talk to me,” it wasn’t a secret that Nicola didn’t not want to be in Scotland for the wedding and she was sure that Flora wasn’t making it any easier.
The sounds from the kitchen were getting louder and were followed by an amazing smell. Jude perked up beside her at the aroma and the tell tale beeps of the coffee pot. Despite this Millie kept talking,” I hope everything goes well today and tell everyone hi from me,” in the middle of her talking Vi’s voice sounds from the kitchen.
“Pancakes!” She calls and the formerly dead tired kids around her launched themselves from the couch effectively knocking Millie over and kicking the phone out of her hand.
They were beating her to breakfast. If she didn’t get there soon all the coffee would be gone, but she had to finish off this video before going. Slightly breathlessly and disheveled, she pulled the camera back to her face and breathed,” pancakes gotta go,” then threw the phone and bee lined for the kitchen.
After devouring their breakfast and downing their coffees they all made their way back to the living room and settled in front of the tv. Crowds of thousands lined the streets and cheered, waving flags and throwing flowers, as a line of cars drove through. Millie knew that somewhere coming up behind them was a carriage carrying the bride but all she could think about was that in one of those cars was Flora.
Beside her, her phone dinged with another message from Nicola.
The video started with Flora smiling at her while Seb took a swig from a small silver flask. “I want pancakes so bad right now,” she whined, but Millie almost didn’t hear a word she was saying.
Millie’s breath hitched in her throat. With her hair up in a dramatic updo and a tiara gracing her head, her girlfriend glowed like an angel and it was enough to stop Millie in her tracks and make her mind go blank.
Anyone who knew Flora knew she was far from angelic, but today she looked the part and no doubt she had been instructed to play it without fault. In the eyes of the media Flora was a rebellious party girl who lived for attention and drama, and they honestly were not wrong. That was what she had thought of the young princess when they first met, and she might have thrown in a few more explicit terms, but now after getting to know her there was a different side to Flora. It was hard to pinpoint the change. Her jabs became friendly instead of pointed and her smiles became genuine. She had chipped away at Millie’s defenses until she fell hopelessly head over heels for her.
She knew that Flora had wanted Millie to be at the wedding with her and had even gotten permission from the queen for her to come, but Millie had to decline.
She had been looking forward to going home for Christmas to see her friends and family since she left for school and it wasn’t fair to any of them if she decided to stay in Scotland over the holidays. Besides what would she do at a royal wedding besides stick out like a sore thumb.
“Roomy Quinte!” Seb exclaimed, obviously already quite tipsy despite how early it was and how important a day it was. “Welcome to the party.”
Millie grimaced and Flora shoved him away, but she seemed unconcerned. “I”m glad you’re up. We’re about to reach the church now so I will not be able to talk for a while, but I’m glad to be able to see you before we go.” Millie wasn’t sure how or why Flora still had Nicola’s phone but she really hoped that she remembered to thank the young girl, who had given up so much of her time to making sure everything went off without a hitch.
“That is enough Flora,” came the stern voice of her mother from behind the camera and for a split second Flora’s face hardened with rebellion before she skillfully pacified, determined not to cause any issues.
It wasn’t for her parent’s benefit but for her brother’s. Flora adores her older brother and this was one of the biggest days of his life -second only to his inevitable coronation day- and the pressure of it all was overwhelming. She was going to do everything she could to make it easier for them.
With a tense obviously fake smile, Flora said to her,” talk later my love and wish us luck.”
The screen clicked to black and Millie turned her attention back to the tv.  The cars had finally reached their destination and she caught half a glimpse of Flora and her finally exiting the vehicle before the video switched to the golden carriage adorned with flowers carrying Ellie and her father. Her face was covered in a large veil and Millie couldn’t get a clear look at her, but she could see the delicate lace that lined her arms.
She’d only met Ellie briefly, but she knew that she was kind and deeply in love and Millie’s heart warmed for her. Across the room aunt Vi shot her a look as Flora came back on screen and Millie blushed before rolling her eyes.
She knew that look and knew that when they were alone they would have to talk about it. Aunt Vi liked to pry and she had been suspiciously quiet on the topic of her dating a Scottish princess.
She had always had her future planned out, get a scholarship for college, then get into an amazing doctoral program for studying geology and a princess with an attitude problem didn’t fit into that plan. A future with Flora was a future that she had never imagined for herself but now as she imagined it, no matter how strange it might be it was what she wanted.

“pine and lavender”
Lisa and Julius go to visit her hometown in the woods. Julius has a grand ol time. idk what the title is supposed to be ajfdskfljds. Anyway, here’s another self-indulgent one shot. stan julisa etc.
Pairing: Julius x Lisa (my oc ajfsdkl)
Warnings: alcohol use (Julius gets a lil drunk) also some heavy flirting, a little of it suggestive but not like... that suggestive.
Two years. That’s how long it had been since Lisa last visited her hometown. She was still a magic knight back then, young and full of dreams, ready to take on what she believed to be a long career. But now, of course, that changed. Her career, and her whole life was unrecognizable. And even she was.
But even so…
“Are you sure about this?”
“Hmm?”
Lisa looked up from where she waited, to see Julius walking over. They were both dressed to travel, packing light for the mere two day getaway they had planned. Yet, Julius was asking as if they were about to leave for some treacherous journey. Perhaps that was true.
“You know… I don’t want you to think I expect to hang out with your family all the time,” Julius continued, finally reaching her side to stand on the balcony. “I know it’s tough for you, with your mother and all-”
“Julius,” Lisa interrupted him, taking his hand in hers to cut him off. “It was my idea, not yours! You made me hang out with your parents last week so it’s only fair that you have to visit my family!”
Julius blinked owlishly, then narrowed his eyes. “I see… wait, so you didn’t enjoy yourself last week?”
Lisa gulped nervously. Meeting Julius’s parents for the first time was an… interesting experience. Both of them were quite old, living alone in a nice place out in the countryside. The Novachrono family, being nobility, owned a couple of residences which they cycled between. Lisa, who grew up a commoner, found the whole arrangement quite extravagant, but it provided some neat weekend hideouts for her and Julius to enjoy. However, they weren’t alone last week.
(tragic flashback time)
“Julius! Oh, this must be your girlfriend!”
Lisa peeked out from behind Julius, her heart thumping in her chest as the elderly couple finally spotted her after greeting their son. The spark of excitement in their eyes, nearly identical to how Julius’s would be, gave way to some other emotion. It was brief, but they almost looked taken aback. Lisa physically resisted wincing.
Don’t say it, don’t say it, don’t say it-
“OOh, you’ve got some mysterious mark on your head as well! No wonder our Julius likes you so much, ahah!”
Oh good. Lisa let herself exhale a nervous laugh, stepping forward to greet them properly. It wasn’t her fault she looked so young; she stopped aging when she was 20, after all. But it was nice to not be bombarded with questions all the time, from people assuming things about her relationship.
“It’s nice to meet you, too!”
(end non-so-tragic flashback)
“Oh, your parents were wonderful. A little… excited, but wonderful.” Lisa grinned and elbowed Julius playfully, earning an exaggerated reaction. “Anyway, I think they told enough embarrassing stories about you to last me a lifetime!”
“Ah, is that so?” Julius grinned back sheepishly, his prior worries fading quickly. “I thought you already knew everything about me?”
“There’s always more to learn~” Lisa shot a cheeky wink up at him before picking up her bag. “Come on, we’ll be late for dinner if we keep chatting all evening.”
“Right, right.” Julius could barely contain himself as he took her hand again. “I’m so excited to see your cousins again- do you think they’ll remember me?”
“Remember? You?! Meeting you was the highlight of their lives!”
Without any more delays, Lisa held on tight as Julius finally took off, leaving nothing but faint traces of his mana behind.
Approximately two minutes later, the pair landed with a resounding whoosh, causing birds and leaves alike to take flight from the trees around them. Branches creaked, and bushes rippled, but only a moment later the forest was as still as it was before. “Well, here we are!” Julius let go of her hand only momentarily to stretch a long arm over his chest. “Too bad we have to walk into town from all the way out here-”
“We talked about this, remember? What do you think’s gonna happen if you just crash down in the middle of town?” Lisa reminded him, turning away once he was ready to start the walk. “And also- once we get there, you’ll have to transform into someone else. I don’t want to become the talk of the town or anything…”
“I know, I know!” Julius looked more disgruntled at that factor than anything else. He let out a deep sigh, sadness shifting through his gaze momentarily. “If I could have my way… I would want everyone to know.”
“... I know. Me too.”
Julius was unapologetic in every facet of his life, and love was no different. He loved the Kingdom, he loved his friends, but most of all, he loved Lisa. If he had it his way, Julius wouldn’t hesitate to herald the news from every corner of the country.
“This woman? She’s mine! And I’m hers!”
Sadly, the two of them already felt the harsh reality of the world, when Augustus and the Magic Parliament found out and used Lisa’s involvement with Julius against her. And because of that, Julius had to keep this treasured relationship close to his chest, where the general public wouldn’t find out.
“Hey-”
He looked down as Lisa snaked her arm around his, smiling up at him comfortingly. “Marry me one day, and then everyone can know.”
Julius’s eyes lit up at the mere thought. “Seriously? Let's get married today, then!”
“What?! No way! Not yet, at least…”
“Ah, alright. I’m patient~”
Before they knew it, they reached the outskirts of town, and Julius was forced to transform. Lisa watched curiously as his body glowed gold, and he morphed into an unfamiliar man. He kept his blonde hair, but he had blue eyes instead of his usual purple. Also, his nose, chin, ears, brow- it was all different. “There! How do I look? Handsome?”
“Not as handsome as usual,” Lisa answered, eyeing him up. It was true, nothing could beat the usual Julius. Julius, of course, knew this, giving her a teasing wink as he grabbed her hand again to continue their journey.
Lisa’s hometown was small, but stable. They mainly subsisted on local crops and game, but they had to buy food from neighboring areas as well. Situated at the base of the mountains dividing the Clover Kingdom from Diamond, the town was once a battlefield, as both kingdoms vied for control over the precious gems underground. However, all those gems have been stripped away, and things calmed down for years and years.
At least, it used to be calm… up until that day.
One fateful attack by the Diamond Kingdom, nearly four years ago. That day changed everything. Lisa’s father was killed, leaving her alone with a mother who hated her and powers that she didn’t understand. She lost so much…
But I wasn’t alone, remember?
Lisa glanced up at the man walking next to her, humming to himself as they moved. She couldn’t help but smile as the memories washed over her.
Because, that day… I met you.
“LISAAAA!!!!!”
The door to Lisa’s old home slammed open, revealing her aunt Portia and her cousins. Before the two of them could react, they were bombarded with hugs from adults and screeching children alike. Lisa could do nothing but stand there and take it, but the wide grin on her face betrayed the fact that she was enjoying it.
“Lyra! You’re going to suffocate me!”
“And I would be right to do so!”
Cousin Lyra- One year older than Lisa, a total airhead, but also the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. The girl stepped back from her cousin with a little pout on her face. “You never come to visit, even though I told you your mom moved out! We only get to see you once a year, you know!”
“I know, I know, I’m sorry! I am kinda busy, you know!” Lisa defended herself, still smiling brightly. “Well, we’re here now, both of us.”
“Hey, who’s this weird guy?!”
Uh oh.
Lisa turned just in time to see Julius being circled menacingly by her two younger cousins, Pat and Rocco, the twins. Both of them had met Julius before, but now they were eyeing him suspiciously. “You’re right, who is this guy, Lisa?” Portia asked, her eyes widening. “Don’t tell me you and Julius broke up!”
“What?! No! I am Julius!” Julius looked a bit confused before the reason dawned on him. “Oh wait- right!” He stepped inside the house, out of sight of the street, and let himself change back to normal. Rocco and Pat immediately gasped. “OH! WIZARD KING!”
Lisa covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. Their excitement never failed to crack her up.
“Aha, you know- you can call me cousin Julius-” Julius told them, but it was no use. They continued to chant his title and before grabbing onto his legs like they were two tree trunks. Julius just sighed and let out a tired laugh, looking over at the others. “Not yet, I see-”
“Well, now that we’re here-” Lisa winced a little as she sat down at the kitchen table. “I’m ready for a relaxing night here at home.”
“What?! Relaxing?” Aunt Portia let out a giggle. “Nonsense! Lisa, you know what day it is, right?”
Her family giggled as she stared at them blankly. “It’s friday!”
Her eyes widened. “Oh no…”
Julius looked between them, confused. “Wait, what does that mean? Friday? What’s so special about friday.”
“It’s the busiest night at the tavern! All hands on deck!”
The rest of the family cackled. Lisa’s father owned the sole tavern in town, so it passed down to Portia and Lyra once he died. It was popular, and Lisa worked there for many years before leaving to join the Magic Knights. Lyra giggled and nudged Lisa with her elbow. “It’ll be just like old times! You and me waitressing, I even kept your old ‘uniform!’”
Lisa’s already-pale face was white as a sheet now. “U-Uniform!? Oh god, you can’t mean-”
(thirty horrible minutes later)
“TA-DA! Look at this, ‘James’!”
Julius turned around at the sound of the fake name he was using today. He had been sitting alone in the tavern, watching the other groups as they sat and drank, laughing and chatting among themselves. It was a strangely serene experience, being able to be alone. Well, at least it was nice to not have Marx breathing down his neck. Julius did miss Lisa though… he wasn’t sure why, but being away from her, even just for a little while, made him deeply uncomfortable. But luckily, she was back… sort of.
Lyra strained as she attempted to drag someone out from the back room. “Lisa! Behave!”
“No! Jul- I mean, James, don’t look at me! This is embarrassing-”
Lisa finally gave in, her face burning bright red as she was dragged out into the open.
“Isn’t she cute!? She had to wear this every day when she worked here!”
Her “uniform” was that of a tavern maid; a dress a little shorter than knee-length, a cute apron, and her usual tights. It wasn’t anything too shocking, but-
Lisa covered her face with her hands, mortified to be wearing something so out of her usual wardrobe. “D-Don’t look at me-”
It was too late- Julius was L O O K I N G.
“I said stop it!”
Julius finally snapped out of his “trance,” the dumbfounded look fading into a devilish grin. “Wowie… Lisa, maybe you should change your usual uniform to this-”
Portia and Lyra cackled along with the rest of her family as Lisa shouted back, too embarrassed to make any sense. Julius chuckled to himself, letting up on the teasing but allowing his eyes to still wander all over her body.”There’s nothing to worry about, my sweet… you look good in anything.”
Lisa sighed, letting her shoulders slumped, still not looking forward to the night ahead, but maybe it would be bearable. Maybe. “Thanks… You’re usually right.”
“Of course I am-”
“Lisa! Stop making eyes at him and get to work!”
With another loud objection, Lisa was dragged away once again, while Julius watched her work with shining eyes. As someone raised in nobility, Julius had to admit that he was a little out of his element. The tavern became increasingly louder as people started drinking, shouts and laughter filling the small building. Julius felt himself shrink around his drink, only accompanied by the younger twins and Lisa’s uncle. But among all the chaos, Lisa navigated it all perfectly. Once she forgot about the outfit, she weaved between the tables and jostling chairs, carrying a teetering tray of beers, her voice managing to pierce the noise filling the air. “Hey! Keep it civil, guys, I don’t want to mop up any of your blood.” “Talk to me like that again, and I’ll tell the Wizard King to come get you! Yeah? Scared now?” “NO GAMBLING IN HERE!” “Do you want me to burn you to a crisp? Because you’re asking for it!”
Julius laughed to himself as he listened, not able to tame the big smile on his face.
She’s so cute-
“Hey, Lisa, you got cute~”
Julius’s eyes popped back open.
Did… someone just-
“Hmm? So what if I did?” Lisa glared down at her new admirer, well, admirers. They were a group of three men sitting at a round table, red-faced and drunk, and apparently smitten with their waitress. “It doesn’t mean you can look at me!”
“Oh, but we are~” One of them giggled. “Why don’t you come back with us tonight? It can’t be fun JUST hanging out with your family.”
There was nothing Julius wanted to do in that moment other than spring to his feet, release his disguise, and teach those guys a lesson directly from the hands of the Wizard King. And he almost did, too! With his fists clenched so tight he knew his nails would leave a mark, Julius barely scooted his chair back before freezing as Lisa stepped in to defend herself much better than he could have.
“Listen! You three used to bully me all the time for having no mana. I wouldn’t want to be seen with you, even if my life depended on it! And besides-” Lisa resisted shooting a cheeky glance over at Julius. “I already belong to someone, so you’re too late.”
The trio blinked dumbly up at her, unable to comprehend what she was saying. Julius smiled to himself and slowly slid back down into his seat.
“I already belong to someone.”
He always liked hearing that.
“What are you looking at?”
And suddenly, she was right next to him, leaning up against the table with a little grin on her face. Julius blinked, his reaction sluggish. Ah, I guess I got stuck in a little daydream there- He shook off the feeling, amplified by the beers he drank, and smiled up at her. “Oh, just the cutest waitress in this place.”
Despite being mortified earlier, Lisa only blushed lightly at the comment, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Oh? I’m honored~ And what a coincidence, you’re the cutest guy in this place…”
Oh boy. The alcohol was starting to kick in for Julius, and Lisa knew it. His gaze started to fog up with some weird emotion that she knew well. She rarely saw him even get buzzed, so this was entirely unfamiliar. “Aha- ah, shucks, hehe-” He giggled boyishly to himself, closing his eyes for a moment as he collected his “thoughts.” Ahh… he would look so cute right now if he wasn’t in disguise, Lisa thought to herself, but it was enough to know that the unfamiliar man sitting here wasn’t unfamiliar at all… he was her man. “Hmm, you seem like you’ve had a little too much to drink” she teased.
Julius shrugged, lifting up his glass. “This is the best goddamn beer in the whole goddamn kingdom- HIC.”
Lisa bit her lip, thinking the little hiccup was just too cute. “Take it easy! I wouldn’t want you to pass out on me, hmm?”
Julius just laughed to himself again, his poor addled-brain hardly able to keep up. Damn! This beer is way more potent than I’m used to… these country folk know how to brew, that’s for sure. If I’m not careful, I’ll actually get drunk.
“Well, then tell me, waitress~” Julius finally spoke, wiggling his eyebrows. “When do you get off your shift?”
Lisa giggled, reaching out and running a friendly hand over his shoulder. Julius eagerly leaned into the gesture, like iron drawn to a magnet. That was what she was: a magnet. He would always be drawn to the gravity she possessed, something he couldn’t understand yet didn’t need to. All he really needed was her.
“Be patient~ We can go home soon.”
Without another word, Lisa leaned down and kissed his forehead, before pulling away to continue her work. Julius could do nothing but sigh and watch her go, his smile still traced on his lips and his mind hazy with desire.
(the next morning)
At exactly 6:30 am, Lisa’s eyes popped open. She was like a machine, her consciousness restoring itself almost instantly after her usual 6 hours of sleep. That was all she really needed, so she never gave herself much more. With a little yawn, the girl slowly rolled over in bed, her arm reaching out to find the warmth of a body beside her. However...
Julius wasn’t there, for some reason. Lisa frowned a bit, blinking as she got her bearings. Hmm, I wonder where he is? She was sure that they were together when they fell asleep late last night. In fact, she was 100% certain that was the case. Julius got all needy when he was drunk, and wouldn’t let go of her even as he fell asleep. It takes a lot to get him drunk in the first place. He should be terribly hungover right now.
“Portia? Lyra?”
Lisa peeked into the kitchen, the stillness in the air betraying that no one else was awake yet. That’s weird… well, Julius likes his morning walks, this could be his way of dealing with his hangover
She knew that Julius was the last person on earth she usually had to worry about, but he was unfamiliar with the area and could get lost. Keeping that in mind, Lisa quickly got dressed and headed out to search for him. It was still early, and also a Saturday, so the town was very quiet and empty. Lisa strolled down the streets, becoming increasingly disheartened as she failed to locate her wandering boyfriend. Well… maybe he went out into the woods? Ooh, I hope he’s alright-
Lisa decided to check the outskirts before heading back home, just in case. Luckily, her intuition ended up being right… just not in the way she expected at all.
“Lisa!!!! Hello!!! Good morning!!! Look at me!!!”
Just as Lisa reached the edge of the woods, who should come running out but a grinning Julius. Usually, Julius only moved fast when he was fighting, and moved so fast that he left afterimages everywhere he went. Other than that, he glided from place to place, as graceful and stately as could be. But now, Lisa watched in shock as a seemingly-normal albeit awkward looking man, with arms and legs a little too long for his body, came sprinting at her. But the strangest thing was-
“Julius!!! Why are you dressed like a lumberjack!?”
Lisa backed away slightly as he skidded to a stop in front of her, still almost giddy with boyish excitement, and she eyed his strange outfit: a red flannel shirt, JEANS, and a strange looking hat. She also noticed that he wasn’t in disguise anymore. But before she could say anything, Julius launched into a harried explanation, as if he already knew what she was thinking. “Oh, don’t worry! No one recognized me with this hat on, haha! See, I woke up early to make you some coffee for when you woke up, but your uncle was awake and invited me to come help him and some others gather wood and stuff in the forest! He gave me the outfit and everything! It’s a little tight though-” Julius shifted uncomfortably in his jeans. “Anyway, a lot of people in this town don’t have much magic, at least not for gathering wood, so I got to use an axe and everything! It was so much fun, we’re taking a short break now but we’ll be at it again soon, haha!”
Julius let out a jovial laugh while Lisa stood there, still absorbing the words he just spat out. “Oh… I see. Well, I’m glad you’re having fun-” She eyed his hat again, noticing that it covered most of his blonde hair as well as his swallowtail mark. “So… you’re not hungover or anything? You were pretty drunk last night…”
“Drunk? NO, no!” Julius wiggled his eyebrows. “That stuff only buzzed me… I was just using it as an excuse to act a bit more boldly, you know? I’m perfectly fine this morning.”
… of course he would do that- Lisa thought to herself, not sure if she should be charmed or exasperated…. She was leaning towards the former, since by now she was used to Julius’s antics. “You seem to be enjoying the commoner life, maybe we should quit our jobs and move out to a cabin in the woods,” she teased, letting herself smile brightly up at him. Now that the shock was wearing off… he did look really good in his new “uniform.” “You should wear stuff like this more often~”
Julius raised an eyebrow, but couldn’t wipe his goofy grin off his face. “Oh? Maybe I will~ And-” He reached down and took her hand in his, clasping it tenderly. “I’ll take you out to cabins in the woods whenever you feel like it! Just say the word, and it’s done!”
Lisa giggled, squeezing her eyes shut as Julius’s hand cupped her cheek, holding her face gently as his lips found the side of her head. “It’s good to know I have you wrapped around my finger~”
“Oh, more than my finger, my dear.” Julius winked as he straightened back up. However, that brief, sultry moment ended as soon as a new idea crossed his mind. “So! I was thinking- we should have a picnic for lunch!”
Lisa’s eyes it up at the same time as his own. “Ooh, I like that idea! Out in the woods?” She immediately started brainstorming what she could make.
“Not just any spot, though-” Julius fidgeted with excitement. “That spot by the river… with the flowers, where we first met?”
“Oh… oh! Yeah!” The memories flooded back, memories from a time much more complicated than now. “Meet me there at noon?”
“Yeah! Thank you, darling.” Julius leaned down, his intention clear. Lisa closed her eyes in time to feel his sweet kiss on her lips, brief yet just as intoxicating as ever. “See you soon!” Without another word, Julius waved goodbye before running off, disappearing into the trees. Lisa sighed to herself, the warmth of his presence still lingering on her skin. Wow… well, I have a picnic to prepare. She turned around and started to walk back home, her mind still caught up in the dream she somehow managed to turn into reality.
Back then, years ago, they met in that spot by the river. Lisa was lost, alone, hopeless, and confused, but all it took was a kind smile and that strange, warm feeling to get her moving again. Moving towards her goals, with nothing left to lose and everything to gain.
I gained and lost so much, over and over, but now… it’s just like you promised, Julius. You said, one day, our life will be simple. And now it is.
Despite the trials they experienced, the satisfaction of knowing filled Lisa’s heart: she was his, and he was hers. Completely.
(shortly before noon)
Finally alone, Julius took off his hat, letting his head breathe for the first time all morning. He had arrived at the spot a little early, so he had a few minutes to himself. “Hmm… this is the place, alright,” he muttered to himself, looking around. The stream still flowed lazily like it always did, and the blanket of white cornflowers still rippled gently in the breeze. The whole atmosphere was calming, yet so deeply potent with memories, both good and bad… but one in particular.
I still remember it so well… During that Diamond attack, Lisa dropped her Grimoire. I had to chase her all over town to give it back! I ended up catching up to her here… we had our first conversation. And her first smile-
Julius would have been content to die in that moment. For that brief second, he forgot that he was Wizard King, he forgot about all the responsibilities he carried on his back. He was weightless, unburdened… blessed. A girl he barely knew, someone he could tell was deeply troubled and complicated, defeated him with just a smile. At that time, he couldn’t have imagined that he would grow so close to her, watching as she clawed her way up, a girl with nothing to lose but everything to gain. It was what he admired most about her, but she was more than just another remarkable person in the magic knights.
She was his.
Julius found himself standing at the edge of the stream, the water calm enough for him to make out his reflection.
Despite how perfectly everything felt now… he couldn’t shake an unwelcome feeling.
Dread?
Julius shook his head slightly, watching his own eyes narrow with determination.
If I can protect an entire kingdom… I can protect one person dear to me.
“Julius!”
The voice calling out from behind him immediately dispelled the dread from his gut. Perking up, Julius quickly turned around to see Lisa walking over, picnic basket in hand and a big smile on her face. “Hey! I’m right on time~ Hungry?” She held up the basket, opening it up to look at the contents. “I made some sandwiches, but Portia had some leftover wine from last night so I packed a little of that as well, and-”
Lisa was suddenly cut off when a pair of arms closed around her. She stood there silently as she was held tightly, her face buried into the rough flannel of Julius’s shoulder. Slowly, she inhaled, taking in his scent, a scent indistinguishable from her own save for the new notes of pine he managed to pick up while working. Then, she exhaled, her arms drifting around his torso in time with her breath.
It was moments like these that she knew she was cherished. More than any treasure or prize the Kingdom could offer. Even if she didn’t understand why, she knew that fact.
After a few long, tender moments, Julius’s grip finally loosened, and he stepped back just enough to peer down at her face, his smile tinged with faint notes of sadness. “Thank you, Lisa.”
“My pleasure.”
The two of them turned and walked towards the stream, their hands still entwined as tight as fate itself.

“Prince N’Jadaka, would you like to add anything”, King T’Challa asked his younger cousin. It had been a month since he had seen Y/N and wanted his week to go by as fast as he can. The wait was becoming agonizing as ever and he couldn’t take it anymore. Since he was the Prince, he had to put on the facade and use his mentality to please the council members. He stood in his black short-sleeve button-down with slacks and loafers. “Fellow council members, as the royal advisor and Prince of Wakanda, I feel as if what we are doing is the best for not only the world but also for our people as well. I am very thankful that you all agreed to help my old neighborhood with the youth center and also for the Princess who came up with the Wakanda Scholarship plan.” Shuri stood on T’Challa’s left and gave him a nod saying “yes, with this plan more students will be able to go to any college of their choice. This way people will be debt and stress-free.”
As everyone took turns, N’Jadaka sat there thinking about his girlfriend back home. He thought of how she smiled and her nose will scrunch up. He thought of how her laugh was so cute and contagious. How when they fall asleep, she massages his scalp. How with her she didn’t have to be a tough guy all the time but instead be a teddy bear. Before you know it, the meeting had ended and Aunt Ramonda noticed him. “Looks like you are distracted, son? Is everything okay?” Shuri giggled and said, “it’s because he is in loveeeeeeee.” He gave her a side-eye and half-smirk as he said “hush, princess.” The Queen then asked him “well, I would like to see what she looks like. She might be my daughter in law one day.”
“I have seen her, mother and she is beautiful”, T’Challa chimed in as his cousin stood with phone in hand. The lock screen was taken at the fair and Y/N was on his back as the setting sun kissed their skin; they both had huge smiles on their faces. “She is amazing. I wish we can meet her in person.” Just like that, his phone vibrated and it was a facetime call from the woman herself. “Hey, baby girl.” Y/N was sitting on her front porch with Leslie between her legs putting box braids in her hair. “Hi, baby boy. Are you still busy”; Leslie held the phone up for her. “Nah, we just ended the meeting and we just chillin’ now.” Shuri peeked over her cousin’s shoulder and waved. “Hello, Y/N. I am Shuri. I have heard lots about you.” Her cousin looked back at her then to the screen; he knelt down and began pointing to everyone. “This is M’Baku, We been cool since high school. He look like he was a jock but he was a big ol’ nerd. This is my cousin/brother T’Challa. He a cornball. You seen Shuri. She obsessed with science and this woman is my aunt Ramonda. When my mom passed and we moved back here, she was like my moms.”
“It’s nice to meet you all”, Y/N said with a big smile. They all talked as if it was hours and before they knew it he was climbing into bed and she was in the bathroom brushing her teeth and washing her face, still on Facetime. She was using charcoal paste and mouthwash before putting her paper sheet face mask on. “Baby girl, what the fuck is that,” he asked pointing to her face. She giggled and said, “I’m making sure I look good for my baby.”
“Baby girl, yo ass always look good,” he said with a smirk and she smiled feeling her chunky cheeks heat up. “I do not”, she said in a cute timid voice. He sat up in bed as he told her “what I tell you about saying shit like that? Yo ol cute ass better hush.” She flicked her bathroom light off before she sat in the bed across from her phone and brought out her smokers kit that he gave her; baggy of weed, grinder, and honey blunt paper. He also sat up and started rolling too and they both took a huge puff. “So, what you wanna do when you come back out?”
“Well, we can do our weekly movie night like always, order some uber eats and chill.” Y/N let another cloud above her head and said “how about I sleepover? I can pack an overnight bag and in the morning we can go to iHop or something.” He nodded and said “bet”; they smiled and the next morning, they were still sleeping on Facetime.
Tumblr media
It was finally Friday morning and N’Jadaka stood in front of the ship in an all-black sweatsuit. His aunt stood with her hands on his shoulders and looked into his face. “Your parents and your uncle would be very proud of you. I am very proud of you my son.” He wiped her single tear and kissed his cheek. “I will be back in three months and that time, Y/N will be here along with me. I love you, auntie.” He kissed her cheek and she said: “I love you too, my son.” N’Jadaka stood in front of Shuri and she looked to the side. “C’mon, sis. I will be back, aight. Don’t make me hug you.” Shuri looked at her cousin rolled her eyes. She kissed his cheek and wrapped her arms around his waist. “I want one anyways”; he hugged his cousin back and gave T’Challa and M’baku dap. “Take care of them”. He stood at his ship and looked over at his family, royal officials and the Dora Milaje. He stood before them, did the Wakanda salute and they yelled “WAKANDA FOREVER”; they yelled back with cheers and he boarded his flight. He sat there as he enjoyed the view above when he started to think about Y/N. He checked his phone to see a message that made him smile.
“Can’t wait to shower you with kisses”.
When he arrived home, he stepped out of his clothes and into the warm shower bathing. He began thinking about his girlfriend as he lied his back against the cold wall. He thought about how he was attracted to her, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. He thought about how their first kiss went. How he sucked in her tongue and the way she bit his lip with a smirk. How they were chest to chest, pelvis to pelvis.
He felt his manhood harden as he wrapped his hand around it but something else took its place; something wet and warm. When he looked down, he saw his baby girl’s brown eyes looking up at him and her soft lips wrapped around his thick, eight inches. Her hands slid up and down his body slowly as he ran his hands ran through her locs. She sat on her knees as the water ran down her body and hair. Her eyes were in his the entire time as she slowly twirled her neck and head. Her throat felt so good, he wondered what else did too. “Fuck, that feel good as fuck, baby girl. That’s how you feel?” She hummed with a wink when he shuttered with a hiss. His eyes closed with his head back but heard pop followed by.
“Daddy, why aren’t you watching me?”
He looked down at her as she still looked at his eyes, stroking him slowly. He smirked and said “I’m sorry, baby. Go ahead”. She smiled and slowly kissed all over his thighs before sliding her throat down as her tongue enveloped the bottom. He said plenty of things like a string of curses in different languages as he thrust into her mouth. She grabbed his hands, placed them on the sides of her head and said “go ahead, daddy. I’m all yours.”
He nodded and gently held on to her locks as she placed her hands on top. They kept their eyes on each other as he pleased himself with her pretty mouth. He noticed her eyes watering but she was surely a fighter. “Fuck, I-I’m about to- to. Where you want it baby girl?” She went faster taking him out then back in her throat. Out then in. Out then in when he finally released his manly nectar down her throat as his eyes closed with a groan escaping his lips. She giggled and said, “Daddy, open your eyes.”
When he did, he noticed he was in the shower alone, hand covered with himself and the huge load on the shower door. “Ah Shit.” He cleaned up and stepped out to see he got a text; “around the corner.” He walked around to the front door in nothing but a white v-neck, gray sweats and dreads tossed to the side. He saw Y/N’s car pull up through the window and saw her outfit. A white crop top sweater with booty shorts and the “icee” Nike’s he bought her. Her locs were down and tossed to the side as she grabbed her backpack; running to the front door like a little kid getting picked up by their mommy with McDonald's.
N’Jadaka opened the door just in time and caught her when she jumped in his arms. Her legs wrapped around her waist as she showered him with all the sweet kisses he missed so much. “Mmm, I see someone missed me, huh”, he mentioned as her lips went to his. “Did someone miss me”, she asked with a slight pout and he said “ of course, I missed my favorite girl. Little cute ass.” She got down and had her arms around his neck as he had his around her waist.
“Damn, you look good”, he spun her in a circle and smacked her behind watching it jiggle, making her snort and giggle. “Stawp, you made me snort, jack ass,” she said as he laughed with his hand to his mouth. He took her backpack and set it down before wrapping his arms around her fluffy waist. “So, baby. What you got a taste for”, he asked her and she said “a shower. I have been running around and all so I need it. I feel like I need to. I will be right back.” She grabbed her bag and began walking to his bedroom’s bathroom.
He heard the shower start and realized she went on without a towel so he went through the linen closet and grabbed two; for bathing. When he stepped, he saw the steam dance around the bathroom and he saw the faint silhouette as she bathed, suds falling. He imagined how her thighs wrapped around his skull as his dick hardened again. He noticed the arch in her back as she bent down and imagined how it would feel with her fluffiness bouncing off on him. He wanted to step in that shower and put his mouth on her lower lips but he stopped the urge.
N’Jadaka knocked on the red-painted door and said “aye, baby. I brought you a towel.” She peeked her head through the door and smiled. “Awe, thank you, baby. Can you put it on the sink for me?” He placed it down and said, “if you need anything, let me know.” She looked at him and down and said: “come eat this pussy real quick.” He blinked slowly and said “huh?”
“I asked can you pass me my body oil real quick. I can’t reach it.” He chuckled and had to think of something quick as he passed her the oil. “Say please, next time. I’ll be on the couch.”, she giggled as he left. He sat on the couch waiting for her as she got dressed. He was watching Tom and Jerry when he felt arms wrapping around his neck and kisses on his temple. N’Jadaka rubbed her arm as she made her way around. She wore an oversized, long Lost Tribe tee he bought her and boy shorts. “Look at my baby. Come here”, he sat her on his thigh and began kissing into her neck.
She wrapped around his neck and moaned slightly. “Damn, I missed you girl. You just don’t know.” Y/N giggled and as she kissed his cheek. “I missed you too baby. I was, of course, stuck with Shay the entire time”. His lips covered Y/N’s. “Baby, please no Kesha talk in here. Talk about something else.” She looked into his face and rubbed his back. “Ok, baby? How was your flight?
“Man, long. But I’m glad I’m back though. I can be all over you like I want to”. N’Jadaka started to kiss all over her neck and she giggled. “Baby, I want you to try something. I was looking on Amazon and saw this cute machine. Hold on. Lemme go get it.” She hopped off his lap and ran for the bedroom. When she came back, she had a steam machine in her hands. “I was thinking about doing facials for a little extra money. It would be great when I start the shop up.” N’Jadaka nodded as he sat back while Y/N got everything ready. She sat between his legs, back facing him and on her knees. She reached over the table to lay out everything and he noticed how her shirt kept rising up. Her behind looked so good that he wanted to bite into. Her thick thighs, he wanted to smother himself with them as he held his tongue against her clit.
“Ok, baby. Lay on the couch for me. Here”, she placed a pillow and helped him get comfortable. She placed the steamer on his end table where his face would be and grab some gloves. “Okay, so the steam is going to open all of your pores so that we can get all the bad stuff out.” She kissed his lips as she turned on the machine and sat beside his face on her knees. She pulled out a case of extraction tools and began. “Baby, why are you handsome”, she asked and she saw his chest move. “I guess I’m one of the lucky ones, baby girl.”
“I guess so”, she smiled but realized she forgot a tool; it was on the other side of the table and when she reached for it, it rolled to the other side of the floor. “Fuck. Hold on, baby”, she said, getting up. When he looked to his left, she was bent all the over. Her behind was in full display with her legs parted. He slowly sat up and got closer. He can see her beautiful print on full display and all. “Damn”, he mouthed to himself as he crouched down. “Almost go it”, she said and he smirked. “You gonna get it all right”, he said as he pulled her panties to the side. “Daka, what are you doing?”
“Shhh, baby. Lemme take care of you, aight”, he said before he kissed  her right butt cheek while rubbing her pearl in small, slow circles. “Oh my God”, she hummed and held on to the table. He smacked her butt and she yelped out loud, making him deviously smirk. He used his strong hands to spread her cheeks apart to expose her special holes a lotus flower. He bit on her right cheek then the left, let a string of saliva on to her backdoor hole, rubbing it and began sucking on her sweet, moist vagina.
“Ugh, fuck. That feels so good. Please don’t stop,” Y/N moaned it was like music to his ears. He used his wide tongue to lap her up and inserted it inside. He flicked his tongue inside of her tight hole as she mewled over and over again. Covering her whole lips into his mouth before, made her quiver right in front of him. His chuckling sent a shock up her body that made her cum all over his mouth. He smacked her backside roughly before standing up letting his hard inches smack up against her. He used the cum in his mouth to lube up her starfish and slowly eased his thumb on his right hand while he gently pushed himself inside her aching core.
“Please fuck me, daddy. I need it”, she moaned loudly and he did what she asked. “I’m about to get all in this pussy tanight. Ima have yo cute ass gushing all over this dick. Gonna be makin’ love all night and you gonna take all my love, right”, he asked as he pounded into her. She only could moan so he yanked her head up to bring her back to his chest and whispered into her ear. “C’mon, baby. Tell me you want it. Lemme hear that sexy ass voice.”
“I want it, daddy. Please, can I have it? I need it pleaseeee”, she moaned and he placed her knees on the couch. He reached under her shirt to kneed her breasts and felt her nipples harden to his touch. “Fuck, ol’ sexy ass. Been wanting you like this since we met. Shiiiiiiit got a nigga feein’ like a muthafucka in here. Big, juicy, thick ass. These big ass titties. Wide ass hips and that pretty ass face. Got me feeling like a king in this pussy, huh, Princess?”
“Yes, daddy. You’re the king of this pussy. Fuck take this pussy”, she said and he pulled her arms back and kissed her neck as she came all over his dick. “Damn, you takin’ me so well, huh? Ol’ pretty ass. Look at all that fucking, cream on this dick.” She held his neck and said “daddy, fuck my ass, please. Please fuck my ass.” He turned her on the back and eased into her second hole make her grab onto his shirt. he placed her legs in the air as he pounded into her. “Play with that pussy for me”, he commanded her and she did as she was told. She vigorously rubbed on her clit as he watched. “Mmmmm, daddy. That shit feels good.” He looked into her face as her eyes were low and on his.
He can feel himself become undone when she said “Daka, Daka, Daka!”
“Baby, you okay”, Y/N said and N’Jadaka opened his eyes. He was still on the couch, steam machine on and all. “I must of did well because you were knocked out cold. They gonna love this”, she said cleaning up and passed him a mirror. She cleaned off her tools and packed everything instead of her face mask kit. They both sat in Aztec face masks on the couch, cuddling and watching Bob’s Burgers. She lied on his chest as he massaged her scalp. “Daka, I’m hungry”, she said and he looked at her. “How long we gotta be in these masks for?”
“Twenty more minutes,” she said and he got an idea. “Put some clothes on.” She threw on some leggings and her sneakers while he slid on his slides; they also put on the matching hoodies before leaving. She rolled up a blunt for them and took a puff before holding to his lips. She sat back with her hoodie on and watched the light past by, holding his hand. They arrived at Ramona’s and walked inside. Customers looked at them in confusion but said nothing when the couple gave them the death stare. They order red chile burritos and dined in the car on the way back, laughing at the stares they got.
They arrived home, washed their faces and lied in bed, looking at the ceiling fan as they held each other. “Baby, I’ve been to ask you. My client gave me an invite her wedding and gave me a plus one. Do you wanna come?” He leaned over and kissed her forehead. “Of course, princess. When is it?”
“September 18th, the colors are burgundy, navy blue and cream.”
“Aight, bet. We can get up tomorrow and got get some shit. I gotta make sure my baby look good like she always does.” She kissed his lips and lied against him with her thigh on him. He wrapped his arm around her neck as she drifted off to sleep and rubbed the skin on her leg. N’Jadaka, rubbing her thigh and lied there thinking about Y/N. How it would be when they finally take the next level but for now he just enjoyed holding and kissing all over her. That level would have to wait... for now.

Mrs. Stark?
Pairings: Tony x reader, MJ x Peter?
Warnings: none
Time: post ca:cw, iw doesn’t exist
Summary: the rogue avengers come, after being gone for a year, to the avengers facility.
“Hi guys welcome back” you greet the avengers. After the whole civil war, half the avengers became fugitives. They’ve been on the run for almost 2 years when Tony foubnd a way to clear their names.
“Y/n, god it’s so good to see you again” Natasha hugs you. “I missed you so much Nat” you hug her back. “Hey Steve” you walk up to him to give him a hug. “Y/n, how’ve you been?” he asks. “Y’know good. I had some amnesia after the fight, and ended in the hospital but all is well now” you smile at him. “Wait did you say amnesia?” Sam asks you. “Yeah” you scratch the back of your head, “it was noting really” you give a timid smile before giving him a hug as well.
“Where is the rest?” Steve aks. “Oh,, Tony is probably in his lab. Rhodey is with his family, Clint is a the farm and Wanda and Vision should get here any moment” you say. “Wait did you just say Rhodey has a family?” Natasha questions. “Oh yes he met this cute doctor at the hospital, 2 years later they’re expecting a baby girl. Do you guys want anything to drink?” you ask. “Yes coffee please” they all say at the same time. “So I take it that you haven’t had a decent cup since you left” you snicker. “You could ay that yes” Sam responses.
You start making the hot beverages. “Misses Stark, mister Stark required your assistance in the lab” FRIDAY announces. “Oh better get going. I’ll see you in a bit” you quirp.
“Did FRIDAY just say misses Stark?” Sam looks bewilderd to his teammates. “Yeah, she did” Steve confirms. They all stare at where you just left the door. A lot must’ve happend while they were gone.”
“hey baby what’s wrong?” you chirp as you set foot in the well known lab. “Nothin” he humms. “Then why did you call me?” you raise your eyebrows. “What can’t I just wanna spend time with you” he gives you a smirk. “No you cannot and are you coming?” you rub his back. “Where to?” he looks at you confused. “You remember? the others are back” you smile. “Was that today?” he asks at which you nod your head. “Oh god, I forgot about it” he sighs. “Okay first of you can call me Y/n, and second of all it doesn’t matter honey” you kiss his forehead. “Misses Starks it seems as Wanda and Vison are back as well” Friday states. “I gotta go, I’ll see you there” you wave goodbye ath him and walk back towards the common room.
“Wanda, Vision it’s so good to have you back” you hug them, “How was Scottland?” “Scottland was fantastic, we had so much fun” Wanda smiles at Vision. “That’s great to hear why don’t you sit down with the rest while I grab you something to drink” you point at the rest. They walk towards the rest to see them widely discussing something.
“Guys what are you whispering about?” Wanda asks. “FRIDAY called Y/n Misses Stark” Natasha says. “She did what?!” Wanda screams. “Wanda, dear, I think Y/n will hear you if you scream that loud” Vision says to his girlfriend. “oh right, thanks Vis” Wanda pecks him on the cheek.
“Here you go” you walk in with two drinks in you hand, “What’s wrong?” you furrow your eyebrows. “Nothin’” Wanda quipps. “Alright” you squint your eyes not believing a word she says. “How is you memory Y/n? last tinme we saw you didn’t remember anything?” Vision asks polite. “WAIT! You didn’t remember anything? I thought you said it was nothing” Natasha stands up. “Okay so it was somethin but I just didn’t want you guys to worry or feel guilty” you confess.
“God, you’re sweeter than honey” Tony says from the doorway. “Oh god, Tony” you giggle. “tsk tsk, it’s weird to talk in third person” he ‘scolds’ you, making you shake your head. “God you’re so weird” you chuckle. He pouts his lip and places his hand on his heart “god I take back what I just said you’re more bitter than black coffee”
Everyone just kinda stares at the interaction. “What?” you ask. “It’s just, since when are you a couple?” Wanda asks. “one year, 3 months, 9 hours and 6 seconds exactly” Tony checks his watch. “Og course you know the exact time we kissed first” you shake your head. “say what you want but, you like me” he points at you. “No, it’s not like we’ve been together for a year and three months” you say sarcatically. “I love you, angel” “I love you to Tony”
At this moment the lift door opens and a certain brown haired boy steps out, “Mom dad you’re not going to believe what happend today” he says not noticing that all the avengers are on the couch except for Bruce, Thor and Clint.
“waht happend honey?” you ask him. “well, I asked MJ to homecoming and she said yes” he fist pumps the air. “God I remember MJ she is a nice girl” Tony chirpes in. “yeah,, she is” peter bites the apple, only for it to fall on the ground when he sees the avengers. “Peter these are our friends” you point at them. “Holy shit!” Peter exclaims earning a language from cap. “Mom why didn’t you say they were coming.” he whines.
“Okay this is enough!” Sam suddenly yells. “What’s wrong Sam” you tilt your head. “I know it’s been two years, but we come back and you two are married and adopted a 14 year old?” he points at Tony, Peter and you. Tony and you exchange a look before bursting out in laughter.
“We’re not married,,, yet” Tony says. “Yeah,, wait yet?” you say to be ignored. “And we didn’t adopt Peter he still lives with his aunt May, he’s just our spider-child and 17 years old” Tony continues.
“Wait but then why did FRIDAY call you misses Stark?” Steve asks. “It’s an old joke between us” you explain, “because someone doesn’t have the balls to aks me” you glare at Tony. Everybody chuckles. “Oh realy?”Tony raises his eyebrows. “Really” you smirk at him.
Tony lowers himslef to his knees “Y/n Y/l/n, I love you so much. When you got the amnesia I was heartbroken that you didn’t remeber me. It killed me, and I hated that that was what it took to get us together. I felt like you only loved my because I was there, and thatv when your memories would get back you would leave me. You proved me wrong. The day you said you had your memories back. You laughed your ass of that you’ve been in love with me since we first met and I have to admit it was quite funny. And that waiting so long for us to finally know how much we loved each other was worth it. So Y/n Y/l/n will you marry me?”

The Aftermath VI
“What is it?” Piper asked, arching a brow as Siyanda returned to the lab with a look of annoyance.
“My father.”
“What’d he do?” Piper winced, setting down her wrench and perching on the edge of the work bench.
“He wants me to go home,” Siyanda shrugged, angrily jerking open the top of a tool box.
“You don’t want to,” Piper noted.
“Of course not. It’s not that I don’t love my home-I do-but I have priorities here. One of those is making sure Thalia heals properly and isn’t...you know.” Siyanda waved her hand as if the word she was looking for would magically appear.
“Being hard on herself?” Piper guessed.
“Something like that,” Siyanda nodded. “Not to mention the issues with Drew. Scout may need my help getting his plan to work and I can’t abandon him. It’s horrible timing, that’s all.”
“Do you know what your dad wants you for?” Piper asked, swinging her legs slightly.
“No. He says it’s important and urgent. That I should make arrangements to return home as soon as possible,” Siyanda sighed, not finding the tool she was looking for. With an agitated flick of the hand she closed the tool box lid with a ‘thud’.
“I can cover for you. I don’t mind putting some of my projects on hold to help Scout out,” Piper suggested.
“I would appreciate that,” Siyanda nodded, “but it doesn’t ease my frustrations.”
“I know,” Piper smiled faintly.
— — —
Siyanda packed her bag hurriedly not caring enough to settle her belongings neatly inside. Instead, she shoved and crammed whatever was needed into the bag and hoped for the best.
“I won’t be long,” Si assured, turning to see Thalia watching her with faint amusement. “What is it?”
“You’re cute when you’re angry...and one of your bras is half hanging out of the bag,” Thalia noted.
Huffing, Siyanda shoved the garment fully into the bag before checking it over: no other clothing was spilling out. With a final tug she zipped the bag shut and slung it over her shoulders. “That would have been embarrassing.”
“Eh,” Thalia shrugged, “worse things could happen.”
“You’re right,” Siyanda sighed, “I’m too worked up.”
“It’s okay,” Thalia promised, “change is difficult especially when it’s sudden.”
“When did you become so wise?” Siyanda smiled, arching a brow.
“I don’t know,” Thalia shrugged looking very much like a kid.
“Well, you’re very intelligent and I think people forget that at times.”
“Thank you,” Thalia blushed faintly.
“Of course,” Siyanda smiled, “now, uh, I have to go. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone but I will try to get in touch as soon as I find out what’s going on.”
“Alright,” Thalia nodded, clambering from her bed where she’d been trying to beat a dueling game Enzo had lended her.
“Love you,” Si breathed, giving Thalia a quick kiss and a hesitant hug.
“Love you too. Oh, make sure you say hi to the animals for me,” Thalia noted.
“I will,” Siyanda snorted.
— — —
The jet ride to Wakanda was a long and silent one. Of course, Siyanda tried to distract herself from the nagging anxiety in her chest, but it was nearly impossible. Her only relief was sleep but even the nap was filled with a faint sense of dread.
Her brain refused to shut down. She laid there for nearly two hours thinking of nothing and everything all at once before finally drifting off to sleep. When she woke, the pilot announced their slow descent.
Collecting her bag which-remained untouched on the flight- the princess waited impatiently for her jet to land. Wheels gracing the small landing strip and a bit of rough rocking later Siyanda was standing once more on Wakandan soul.
The place was unchanged from what she could tell, and the atmosphere brought a sense of nostalgia. Almost immediately her worries disappeared. The golden grass blowed gently in the breeze, the sun was warm upon her shoulders, and the natural world replaced the sounds of New York.
“Siyanda!” A voice called out from across a tiny field.
Turning, Siyanda spotted her aunt waving enthusiastically. “Aunt Shuri!”
Running excitedly through the knee high grass, Siyanda embraced her aunt fiercely. It seemed like forever since they’d seen each other.
“Hey, have you gotten taller?” Shuri asked, pulling back from the hug to study her niece.
“No!” Siyanda laughed, “I stopped growing ages ago. I’m only taller because the ground is slanted.”
“Right,” Shuri winked, “well, I hope your trip was comfortable.”
“More or less,” Siyanda admitted as Shuri set a slow pace towards the looming city ahead. “Do you...well, would you happen to know why my father wanted me here so suddenly?”
“I do,” Shuri nodded, “but he has sworn me to give no information to you and it isn’t my place to do so.”
“Oh.” Siyanda’s shoulders drooped.
“Anyways, how is that girlfriend of yours?” Shuri arched an expectant brow.
“Great,” Siyanda stammered, “she’s uh...well...great.”
“Did you freeze?” Shuri teased, seeming to sense something different about her niece.
“Freeze for what?” Siyanda snorted, giving her aunt the side eye.
“You know what I mean. I can tell when relationships hit third base,” Shuri laughed maniacally as Siyanda punched her arm.
“And no...I didn’t freeze,” the princess glowered.
“Good girl,” Shuri smiled, slinging an arm about Siyanda’s shoulders. “Now, I know there were issues with New York and a group of anti-heroes. One of them being one of our own. He was buried properly as you asked, but did the rest turn out okay?”
“Yes, mostly.” Siyanda spent a good portion of their walk back home relaying the details of their battles and the end result of the conflict. How Nathaniel and Harper went to Killian’s funeral, that Drew had the potential for a recovery along with Bianca, that there was tension in the Laufeyson family, and much more.
“I’m sorry to hear of Thalia’s injuries ,” Shuri frowned, “Are the others alright? Aside from the new comers and Bianca?”
“Yeah,” Si nodded, “things are going good. Piper has a girlfriend now. That’s pretty neat. Her name’s Gen. Very intelligent and thankfully keeps Piper in line when Alex can’t.”
“Ah,” Shuri laughed, “no different than her parents.”
The two chatted for a few more minutes before they arrived at the palace. Siyanda acknowledged the guards with a small smile and nod. It felt odd but refreshing to be at home.
The entire place was as spacious as she remembered with the well manicured gardens, pristine palace walk way, arching walls, glittering ornaments from statues to painting frames, and much more.
“There she is!” T’Challa beamed, standing in the middle of the entry-room.
“Daddy!” Siyanda ran excitedly to her father no different than when she was little. The king picked her up with ease.
“How I’ve missed you,” he grinned, taking a moment to study her appearance. “You’re...you’re so much older. Wise and beautiful too.”
“Where’s mom?” Siyanda asked, looking about expectantly.
“She will be here shortly,” T’Challa promised. “Your mother was only making sure your room was prepared.”
“And it is,” Nakia noted, striding rather proudly into the room.
“Mom!” Siyanda broke away from her father to embrace her mother.
“Hi honey,” Nakia laughed, kissing the top of Siyanda’s head. “Come, take the back pack off it will be put in your room. You’ll be more comfortable without all of this weight. What did you do? Pack a small country in here?”
“I didn’t know what I needed so I took as much as possible,” Siyanda explained bashfully. Shuri rolled her eyes and took the bag from her niece before heading off to put it away.
“You must tell us everything you’ve been up to-“
“After the business we need to discuss,” T’Challa reminded his wife.
“Yeah,” Siyanda frowned glancing between her parents, “what am I here for?”
“Come.” T’Challa waved for Siyanda to follow. The princess jogged to keep pace with her father’s quick stride until she could match it. Nakia trailed slightly behind as the trio headed for the gardens. “As you may know, the kingdom faced unrest.”
“Kubu,” Siyanda nodded.
“Indeed,” T’Challa sighed, “and it was handled with care. Care by you. It was wise to bring him home and offer a proper burial. It was the right thing to do. Such actions only reaffirm what I see in you. Strength, wisdom, kindness, and a strong moral compass.”
“It wasn’t anything you wouldn’t have done,” Siyanda shrugged.
“Perhaps, but I was not faced with the decisions you were,” T’Challa remarked, “but we digress. It is my decision and firm belief that you are old enough to take my place.”
“I’ve known this,” Si laughed, “one day I will take the mantle of ruler and guide Wakanda.”
“Darling,” T’Challa stopped beneath a small veranda leaning against the railing, “that time is now.”
“What?”
“I have served my time. It has been a long and a valiant reign. The people crave a new face, a new perspective, and I think they have grown tired of me,” T’Challa explained.
“Father,” Siyanda frowned, “this isn’t how-“
“I know. My father died and I took the throne. His father died and he took it and so forth. However, I would like to see the day that you take my place. I want to be there and be proud. That time is now. Trust me, I know it’s sudden, but I feel it. It’s right. It is your time here and now to do all things you see just and fit for our people.” A faint smile graced the King’s lips. “You are of age and the coronation is in a week’s time. There is plenty of time for you to finish your studies and begin stepping into the water. Slowly at first then all at once.”
“Dad,” Siyanda interjected before he could continued, “I-I don’t want this.”
“You can’t ignore your responsibilities anymore,” T’Challa glanced at his daughter, “your place is here. Your mother and I have let you stay with your friends in New York. We’ve been flexible and we’ve wanted you to have a good and free childhood, but you must remember your roots. This is your home. You have always been intended to return and flourish amongst your kingdom.”
“I-I know,” Siyanda stammered feeling her throat grow tight, “but you don’t understand. The people don’t want me. They don’t.”
“How can you know that when you have yet to see?”
“Daddy,” the princess’ voice sounded incredibly small, “I can’t rule them because I am me. They do not love me. They never have.”
“But they do.”
“They don’t. They don’t! They hate me. I will divide this kingdom in a heartbeat without ever lifting a finger...Dad! Listen to me!” Siyanda watched her father shake his head in despair. “They will eat me alive. I have driven a rift through our nation because of ancient principles. It’s why Kubu-it’s why he’s dead. Our people value tradition and order and stability. I don’t. I can’t offer them an heir to the throne like our ancestors. They know that and they hate it. If I were to ever bring Thalia here they would destroy her like a pack of hyenas.”
“You cannot give up on your responsibilities because of the Norse girl.” T’Challa insisted.
“It’s not just that. Dad, people will side with me and my views but others won’t. Your advisors won’t. They already made that clear with Acacia’s burial. They practically disgraced her because I loved her. I won’t be the reason Wakanda has a civil war. I won’t!” Siyanda slammed her palm down on the railing drawing her father’s attention.
“You cannot be such a coward as to fear the public. Whether it be now or later you cannot succumb to them. You must have thick skin. You know this. The nation has not always been happy with me but I decide what I see fit. If you cannot do that now or ever you are not meant to rule,” T’Challa’s brow furrowed in worry.
“Then maybe I’m not,” Siyanda shrugged, feeling the familiar sting of tears in her eyes, “and maybe you should have had a son instead!”
“I want what’s best for you.”
“No! You want what’s best for Wakanda,” Siyanda’s voice was loud enough to frighten a few wandering birds from their perches. “When has Wakanda ever wanted what’s best for us?”
Setting her jaw Siyanda left the veranda behind. She didn’t want the crown. She didn’t want the crown if she couldn’t have Thalia. She didn’t want the crown if it destroyed all her father had built. She didn’t want the crown if she couldn’t be happy. She didn’t want the crown if it meant she couldn’t do what she believed was right. She didn’t want a crown if it made her a puppet.
— — —
“I don’t understand. I-I don’t know what to do. What I’m expected to do,” Siyanda sat cross legged in front of the tomb stone wiping furiously at her eyes. “You would know. You always made better sense of all this. Hell, you would’ve been a better heir than me.”
The princess sniffled and looked through bleary eyes at the carefully carved name of her best friend. She didn’t know why she came to Acacia’s tomb but she felt that calling Thalia would only worry the girl. Siyanda knew that in an instant Thalia would encourage her to take he crown and forget about their relationship. Because Thalia was selfless and Siyanda was selfish.
“Hey.” The Princess looked at the unexpected arrival with burning hostility before realizing it was only her aunt. “Your mother told me...”
“Yeah?” Siyanda sniffed. “She tell you I’m a coward too? Cause they’re not wrong you know.”
“Si,” Shuri sat down beside her niece, “it’s okay to be scared. I know you are. I know you’re frightened by the responsibility, the power, the reputation, and I know you’re scared you won’t get to keep your second family in New York. I also know that more than anything you’re terrified you’ll have to give Thalia up.”
“I don’t want to lose them,” Siyanda whimpered, “I love them. I didn’t think having two homes would be hard but it hurts. I feel like I’m being pulled in two different directions.”
“Hey,” Shuri gently tilted Siyanda’s face to wipe away the tears with her thumbs, “there are ways to work things out. You’re smart. Just give it a try. Everything has a learning curve just like everything has gravity pushing down on it. It’s unavoidable but we learn to adapt and deal with it.”
“I just...I want to be me, but I’m worried that Wakanda wants me to be someone else. I don’t know if I can do that.”
“Wakanda can learn. We’ll have to. Heirs are always changing things. For all those old geezers set in their ways spewing hate-they’re all replaced by a younger more tolerant generation. Things have already become so different from when I was a kid. Things will be different again and I trust it’ll be for a good reason. You just have to trust yourself.” Shuri winked, drawing Siyanda into a tight hug. “Now, sleep on it. If you really don’t want this that’s okay. I’ll stick by you. But, if even the smallest part of you wants the crown-to do something beautiful in Wakanda-do it. Do it no matter what people say.”
“Okay,” Siyanda nodded, taking a moment to steady her breathing. “Thank you.”
“Anytime,” Shuri smiled. “Come on. It’s late.”
And just as Siyanda had arrived back in Wakanda she headed home once more with her aunt.

NICK  ROBINSON —— Well,  if  it  isn’t  ADIE  FINNIGAN,  the  RAVENCLAW  superstar.  For  those  of  you  who  don’t  know  HIM,  you  can  spot  them  sitting  with  the  other  SEVENTH  years.  Most  people  think  that  they’re  INTROSPECTIVE  and  INDEPENDENT,  but  they  can  also  seem  pretty  RECKLESS  and  ARROGANT.  Sometimes  people  call  them  the  INSURGENT.  Sure,  they’re  a  HALF-BLOOD,  but  that  doesn’t  define  them.
distressed  denim  jacket  covered  in  specks  of  paint,  flickering  neon  lights,  cigarette  cases  covered  in  graffiti,  lime  green  smoke,  ironic  cross  necklaces,  mismatched  patterns     &     army  print,  aviator  shaped  reading  glasses,  a  coffee  cup  filled  with  orange  juice     &     vodka     !
F A M I L Y.
                 i.  insanity     &     alcoholism  runs  in  the  finnigan  family,  each  parent  leaving  him  with  less  than  attractive  attributes  to  look  forward  to.  his  mother  found  happiness  at  the  bottom  of  a  bottle,  ultimately  finding  her  family  to  be  a  stopping  point  to  something  greater.  the  summer  before  last  year  was  when  she  left,  gathering  her  things     &     stealing  anything  of  value  from  her  husband     &     son.
ii.  his  father,  one  of  the  nicest  people  adie  has  ever  known,  was  left  utterly  heartbroken.  as  an  inventor  obsessed  with  mixing  magic     &     technology,  he  would  lock  himself  in  his  basement  for  days  while  working  on  different  projects.  he  would  appear  erratic,  forgetting  to  eat  or  drink  or  shower.  adie  became  increasingly  worried     &     almost  decided  to  stay  home  until  his  aunt  demanded  he  leave,  promising  to  take  care  of  his  father  while  he  was  gone.
iii.  he  didn’t  tell  his  father  about  the  attack     &     he  wasn’t  worried  about  him  or  his  aunt  finding  out.  they  were  both  muggles     &     were  therefore  not  attached  to  the  world  of  magic.  he  didn’t  want  to  worry  his  father  or  add  on  to  the  bullshit  he  was  already  struggling  with.
H O G W A R T S.
                i.  this  fool  used  to  be  incredibly  popular.  he  would  get  invited  to  all  the  parties     &     hogsmeade  trips.  he  had  countless  friends     &     people  would  nervously  approach  him  just  to  enjoy  a  conversation  with  the  guy.  to  the  naked  eye,  he  had  the  perfect  life     &     the  perfect  girlfriend.  then  once  his  sixth  year  started,  he  suddenly  quit  them  all.  he  broke  up  with  his  girlfriend     &     started  ignoring  his  old  friends,  choosing  to  remain  by  himself  instead.  this  was  a  result  of  his  mother  leaving      &     him  suddenly  realizing  that  he  didn’t  trust  anyone  enough  to  actually  tell  them  about  it.  he  felt  fake,  like  he  had  been  smiling     &     laughing  with  people  who  actually  didn’t  give  a  shit.
ii.  he’s  not  the  most  likable  of  people.  he  isn’t  necessarily  an  asshole,  but  he  isn’t  a  welcoming  cupcake  of  benevolence  either.  he  can  be  a  bit  of  a  deadpan  snarker  with  a  wit  that  often  leaves  people  confused     &     offended.  so  watch  out  for  his  sharp  tongue     &     lack  of  good  publicity.
iii.  he  is  essentially  a  knight  in  sour  armor.  while  he  may  seem  rude     &     catty  to  people  who  aren’t  his  friends,  he  still  tries  his  best  to  do  the  right  thing.  overall,  he  is  a  good  person  who  sometimes  makes  the  wrong  choices.  to  further  prove  his  point,  adie  is  a  muggle  sympathizer     &     he  often  shows  this  in  his  graffiti.  many  pureblood  students  have  taken  to  calling  his  work  an  INSULT  TO  ART.
iv.  speaking  of  graffiti  .  .  .  the  kid  is  a  graffiti  artist     (     of  the  magical  variety     )     .  he  creates  beautiful  works  of  art  that  move,  dance,     &     eventually  disappear  so  that  no  trace  is  left  behind.  he  temporarily  tags  the  walls  which  upsets  a  lot  of  faculty  despite  the  fact  that  his  art  never  remains  for  long.  people  around  school  know  of  his  work,  but  they  have  no  idea  that  it’s  adie.  as  far  as  they’re  concerned,  the  guy  is  a  myth.  he’s  like  shaolin  fantastic  from  the  get  down.  fellow  students      &     countless  teachers  talk  about  him  constantly     &     look  forward  to  seeing  his  paintings,  speaking  of  him  as  if  he  wasn’t  a  real  person.
                v.  he  has  many  weaknesses,  the  most  prominent  being  drugs,  alcohol     &     marlene  mckinnon.  following  the  attack  on  hogsmeade,  adie  was  injured  with  dark  magic     &     was  therefore  unable  to  heal  as  quickly  as  he  would’ve  liked.  a  fellow  student     (     also  death  eater     )     broke  every  bone  in  his  hand  while  also  nailing  it  down  to  the  table  with  a  nail  through  the  middle  finger.  as  a  result,  he  thought  he  would  never  be  able  to  paint  or  draw  again     &     that  mixed  in  with  a  broken  heart     &     a  shortage  of  friends  left  him  feeling  depressed.  he  found  solace  in  his  medication     &     whatever  booze  he  could  find,  eventually  finding  himself  dependent  on  the  stuff.
vi.  as  previously  mentioned,  marlene  mckinnon  has  always  been  one  of  his  biggest  weaknesses.  she  was  his  first  everything     ?     including  his  first  heart  break,  a  pain  that  took  him  a  while  to  fully  move  on  from.  she  was  one  of  the  most  important  people  in  his  life     &     the  transition  from  lovers  to  friends  was  certainly  difficult;  however,  he  finally  feels  confident  that  they  can  move  past  it,  especially  given  everything  they’ve  been  through  together.
              vii.  pretty  fucked  up
viii.  rita skeeter  is  tHE  OG     &     NO  ONE  CAN  TELL  HIM  ANY  DIFFERENT     ?     she  is  the  closest  thing  he  has  to  .  .  .  well  anything  really.  fuck  with  her     &     he’s  finna  get  pissed.  he’s  overly  protective     &     possessive  which  is  no  bueno,  but  adie  has  never  been  the  most  sane  of  people.   remember     ?     crazy  runs  in  his  family.
P O S S I B L E   P L O T S.
THE  SUSPICIOUS/THE  FAN:  maybe  someone  gets  it  in  their  head  that  adie  is  the  one  doing  the  graffiti     &     as  a  result  they  follow  him  around,  trying  to  catch  him  in  the  act.  maybe  they  even  try  to  become  friends  with  him,  attempting  to  deal  with  his  shit  personality  in  order  to  learn  the  truth
BLACKMAILER:  opposite  of  the  fan  where  they  find  out     &     want  shit  in  return  for  them  to  keep  quiet  about  it.
THE  OLD  BEST  FRIENDS:  back  during  his  popular  party  days,  like  bring  me  some  old  best  friends  who  still  don’t  understand  why  adie  just  disappeared.  they  can  either  hate  him  or  want  to  be  friends  again,  we  CAN  PLOT  THAT  ISH.
ENEMIES  BE  ENEMIES:  ‘nuff said     ?
THERAPY  BUDDY:  during  a  manic  depressive  scare,  adie’s  aunt  begged  him  to  see  a  therapist  over  the  summer  holiday.  maybe  this  person  was  also  seeing  that  same  therapist  following  the  hogsmeade  attack     &     maybe  they  still  are     ?     or  not     ?     all  i  know  is  that  adie  should  still  be  seeing  someone     &     he  isn’t  because  he’s  a  mess.

Hope Idiotic | Part 37
By David Himmel
Hope Idiotic is a serialized novel. Catch each new part every week on Monday and Thursday.
OUTSIDE OF THE CONDO, he called Mark.
“You around?”
“Yeah, just eating a pizza and watching some documentary about some guy eating nothing but McDonald’s for a year. What’s up?”
“I’m coming over. Just walked out of Michelle’s place for good.”
“Great.”
Lou drove straight down Ashland Avenue to Mark’s Bucktown apartment running only one red light.
“You okay?” Mark asked.
“Nope. But it has nothing to do with her. Come on, we’re going to a bar. ”
“What bar?”
“Any bar. Closest one.”
Mark’s choice was only a block from his place. It used to be the usual spot for tired drunks, union guys and neighborhood folk in need of a shot and a beer. Recently, however, it was bought by two spoiled twenty-somethings using mom and dad’s money. Following the trend of irony being cool, the new owners turned the old dive bar into a new dive bar.
They rebranded Zigler’s Tavern as Zigler’s Dive Bar. There was a bit of media frenzy around it, thanks to the culture-shallow editors at The ChiEye and style-obsessed producers of local news. The things that make a bar a dive are not supposed to be the things that are celebrated as a way to attract new clientele. But because of the rotting wood bar, torn bar stools, slanted pool table with a missing 2-ball and a CD-spinning jukebox, Zigler’s was the latest and greatest dump in town. The new owners brought in a chef who not ironically referred to himself as a “tastemaker” to rebirth the long-unused kitchen turning it into a destination for what one reporter called, “must-have bar-and-grill chic.” It was gentrification for alcoholics. Zigler’s was no longer a familiar and charming neighborhood dump, having become a place for other trendy twenty- and thirty-something go-hards to flock south to and pat themselves on the back for slumming it at a bar that charged six bucks for a can of ordinary beer. All this style over substance and jacked-up prices, when what so many people really needed at that time was a quiet place to hide from the crumbling economy and drink their fears away, if only for a few hours. The new Zigler’s was an insult to the hard worker down on his or her luck.
Lou and Mark shuffled their way around a line of people, and Lou pulled open the door. A large bouncer pushed it shut in their faces.
“Line forms out there,” the bouncer said.
They turned and looked. “There’s a line? For what?” Mark asked.
“To get in,” the bouncer said.
Mark looked through the window next to the door. “But there’s plenty of space in there. There are even empty seats at the bar. What gives?”
“Line forms back there,” the bouncer said again with even more authority.
“What the fuck…” Mark said.
“You ever been to this place?”  Lou asked him.
“Yeah, maybe a year ago or so. Came here with some girl. Place was a total shithole. I don’t get it.”
“Fuck it. Let’s go somewhere else.”
“No. I want to see what all this is about.”
They waited in line another twenty minutes before finally reaching the door and the bouncer again.
“IDs,” the bouncer demanded.
“You’re new here, huh?” Mark said. “When did you start?”
The bouncer looked over the IDs then at the guys before handing the cards back and giving them the okay to enter by grunting, “Have a nice night.” They secured seats at the bar and ordered Miller Lites and shots of Jameson.
“Well, I have to say, although I’m not happy with this bouncer or these new prices, the girls in this place are far better-looking than before.”
“I’m not taking that shot,” Lou said.
“Shut up. You just broke up with your girlfriend. You deserve a shot.”
“I can’t do shots. You know that. My body won’t allow it. I’ll puke it up instantly.”
“You drink scotch and bourbon neat all the time. It’s the same thing.”
“I sip those.”
“I’ve seen you drink, Lou, you don’t sip. Come on. Sláinte!”
Mark gulped the whiskey down. Lou drank his slower and a moment later, spit up a mouthful of puke onto the floor.
“Jesus!” Mark said.
“I told you.”
Mark looked around. “You done? You’re lucky no one saw that.”
“I’m a professional puker. I can puke in public without ever getting noticed. Phantom puker.”
“We’re going to change that.” Mark ordered another round of shots.
After a couple hours of drinking beer and whiskey shots—with only the occasional vomit from Lou—and striking out with several of the pretty and prissy girls finding the broken pool table ever so charming, Lou and Mark decided to call it a night. Plus, Lou was barely keeping his faculties in check. If the adrenaline from the break-up hadn’t been at full throttle, he’d have passed out long ago.
“How much cash do you have on you?” he asked Mark as they walked back to the apartment.
“I dunno. Twenty, thirty bucks, why?”
“We’re going to an ATM. We’re buying whores.
“Shut up.”
“There, that 7-11. Let’s go there and get cash.”
“Dude, we’re not getting whores. There are no hookers in Chicago.”
“Gimme your iPhone.” Lou searched Chicago Escort Service, which resulted in a list of agencies and phone numbers. He pointed his find to Mark, then dialed the first hit. “Hello, I’d like to purchase an escort—no, two escorts for this evening. Yes, right away. An apartment in Bucktown. How about brunette and athletic. Yes, both of them, thank you. We can pay cash. How much? No problem. The address is—Hey, what’s your address?”
Mark relayed the address, adding,
“Okay, we’re looking forward to meeting the lovely ladies. Bye-bye.”
Lou gave the phone back to Mark with a disturbing amount of pride.
“Have you done that before?”
“Nope. First time.”
“How did you know?”
“There’s always a hooker at the ready, my friend. Now, let’s go get that money.”
“How much?”
“Cheap. Three hundred bucks.”
“Do you even have that much?”
“I need to borrow three hundred bucks.”
AT THE APARTMENT, THEY EACH DRANK ANOTHER BEER and straightened the place up so that the hookers wouldn’t feel like they were dealing with scumbags. They turned the spare bedroom, which Mark had been using as the TV room, into Lou’s love palace by opening the couch that really was a sofa bed and throwing a few blankets and pillows on it. Lou found a large glass candle of Saint Casimir that Mark’s religious aunt had sent to him and used it as mood lighting.
When the escorts arrived, the guys were disappointed that they were not what had been promised. Both girls were brunette, but neither was athletic, and both had the dentistry of a 19th-century English servant. One was tall and thin with a flat chest and no ass; the other was short and squishy with enormous tits and a gigantic ass. Mark and Lou looked at each other.
“You take the tall one, since you’re taller than me,” Lou said.
“I can’t believe you’re making me do this.”
“And you paid for it.”
They paired off and went to their respective rooms.
“It’s very nice,” the girl said to Lou as she looked around the room. “What do you want to do tonight, sweetie?”
“What do you think?”
She laughed. “You’re cute. How do you want it. What do you want me to do for you?”
“Just pretend to care.”
All of the drinking made his dick numb, so they screwed for over an hour. Lou wept the entire time.
Across the apartment, Mark acted impressed with his girl’s trick of applying the condom with her mouth. She screamed like a bad actress in an even worse porno while faking an orgasm. Mark laughed a little. Because he wasn’t as drunk as Lou, his whiskey dick was more in tune with sensations, and he was done sooner. Plus, he just wanted to get it over with. He and his girl sat on the couch watching the rest of the documentary while the other two finished up.
Immediately after coming, Lou passed out. The girl emerged from his room and the other quickly stood up ready to leave. “Your friend is very said,” Lou’s girl said.
“Yeah. I know,” said Mark. “We’re working on that. You don’t happen to know whether your company is hiring any copywriters, do you?”
The girls giggled politely and left. Hearing the giggles, Mark wondered what they might have thought a copywriter was.
