I'm not just cooking, i'm baking a whole ass CAKE

not 100% happy with the design but I wanted to get it out of my system, I went for darker and more muted colors for Zoro while still utilizing the usual elemnts of his outfit like the sash and the haramaki. also the color palette for the full outfit turned out very tasty, like it makes me think of chocolate and sweets. not sure about the use of haramaki though, I feel like it makes the proportions a bit awkward when everything else is dark, but it does make the shirt fold nicely so I may keep it in the end

now that I'm further into WCI I think I should add a suit version as well for the wedding bit hmmm

My idea for this is after coming to Big Mom's territory and fighting her commanders they get to the Germa carriage just like in canon. Zoro watches Sanji fight Luffy, restraining himself from interfering. He respects Luffy's decision to not fight Sanji back, but the moment Luffy gets knocked down it's Zoro's turn to try and bring the cook around and he's not gonna hold back

Sanji reunites with the crew again, feeling all guilty and sorry and begin for forgiveness, and zoro just says "come here, curly" and hugs him like he wants to take all the pain from him, like he never wants to let him go again

Sanji confesses to him later that one of the things that kept him grounded, that kept him from completely giving up, was still feeling the love and concern and worry zoro felt for him during the days they were apart

do you have any ideas for an au where sanji was raised a vinsmoke but like by a good family? whether judge is good or not is up to you, but sanji grew up with a supportive mom and a caring sister and brothers he isnt afraid of, but he never fit in with germas plans so he left to learn how to cook (maybe the whole rock starvation thing happens still?) and then later becomes a pirate and just. forgets to tell his crew that hes a real life superhero prince until one random day one of his brothers shows up to take him home to celebrate mothers day. law has so many questions.

Sora kills Judge because she deserves it😊. Maybe Sanji gets kidnapped and that's how the rock happens and Zeff and the kid are saved by Sanji's suited up siblings berating them. Zeff teaches Sanji and lets him work and stuff and Baratie is frequented by royalty often. They look like superheros but those are the princes and the princess of Germa visiting their brother.

Like Zou instead of WCI The Hats, the Heart crew and Cesar are met on Zou by Ichiji whose looking at his normal, "normal", brother and this tattooed guy and his crew who are freaking out for a different reason from Cesar and Sanji is like "why are you here"

"so like are they coming or am I kidnapping you?" Ichiji asks as he looks at everyone Law immediately says they're going, Kaido can wait. They have Caesar nothing is going to happen so they sail to meet up with the Germa fleet and Law is freaking out as the fucking Germa 66 is in front of him and they're Sanji's family? Sanji is royalty? Everyone is losing it. They're all greeted and treated well. Sanji explains he technically isn't royalty because he gave up his title and everything because he didn't jive with the whole thing. That and there's a lot less kidnapping attempts on him now.

Niji is getting ready to show them to where the picnic is going to be held (in a gazebo above Judge's grave because the bastard has to see them be happy and thrive and live this way[and Sora is too much a lady to build an outhouse on it] so ha fucker) when Law just grabs Sanji and demands answers. Niji on instinct grabs Law, yanks him off Sanji and shocks him. Sora walking in with Reiju and Yonji at the tail end of it and Brook is diable jambe'd so hard it cracks the wall before he can even ask.

Zoro and Yonji are staring at each other as Ichiji is groaning. Sora simply nods at all of this. This is Sanji after all. He's been kidnapped and held ransom so many times that it's probably second nature to go after anyone who lays a hand on him. He's probably kidnapped a whole bunch from Baratie.

"I got a call from Zeff, he said incidents at Baratie have gone down since you left. You would do better to call though." Sora would chide.

"sorry, we just declared war on Big Mom and Kaido. Also feeding this thing is really time consuming." Sanji says with a hand on Luffy's shoulder.

"I'm Luffy! I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!" The usual introduction as Sora laughs and meets them all and shakes their hand. They go eat and all their tastes are catered to as Yonji.

When Robin asks where the former king's grave is Sora laughs and says they're on it. He wasn't worth anything and he's lucky there was any of him left to bury. Everyone but her kids are staring at her.

"Blackleg what the fuck." Law groans as he eats his onigiri.

Love the designs and descriptions you did for the straw hats!! I do want to ask, since they all have different roles and skills do they meet the crew at different points in the story? Like, since Robin is the shipwright would she have met the crew at Water 7 or would it still be Alabasta but under different circumstances? Since she’s not an archeologist she wouldn’t have been raised on O’Hara, right?

here is the original post for role swap! this post has explanations for backstories! i really did try to have drawings to go with everything but i burned out as this month went on so not every character has doodles :(

i kept everything mostly the same in terms of when the strawhats meet each person. i didn’t want to change too much to avoid changing important character moments that happen in canon

this isn’t a super heavy rewrite, there’s a lot of backstory to juggle and i’m not equipped to write such an in-depth au rn 😭 but i might make separate posts for arcs like water 7 or wci!! though i kept a lot of backstory the same theres a lot of rewrite potential for those sagas

i hope these are fun to read about nonetheless ^_^ i included some stuff from @flute-of-pan pan and @onethousandsunnies because they left tags on the original post that were cool ideas

nami, vice capt.

not much changes!! instead of forcing her to chart maps, arlong might just have her around as a servant girl. regardless, the deal to buy back cocoyashi village still stands and nami works hard for it

generally i think her selflessness and loyalty to her village makes her fit to be a vice captain. she looks out for people at her own detriment and was willing to take the fall for such much ahhh

in my opinion she’s good vice captain material!! perhaps a cowardly one but still reliable. also a good treasurer for the crew as always

zoro, cook

zoro grew up training to be a swordsman and competes against kuina, but he also has a knack for cooking as a hobby. he’s mostly the same but sanji’s “stuck on a rock in the middle of the ocean with zeff” happens to him instead (flute-of-pan suggested the cook always suffers the fate of starvation)

kuina decides to run away and zoro is roped into her plans. it goes wrong and they get stranded on a rock, eventually arguing and ending up on opposite sides of the rock with the little food they brought

zoro finds out kuina gave him everything they had soon after she stops replying to him. he’s rescued thanks to kuina’s dad, who tracked them down with vivre cards. kuina’s had long since burned up

similar to canon, zoro continues striving to become the world’s strongest after her death. i think this backstory coupled with him eating those stomped riceballs at the very beginning of the story is so….(GESTURE) it’s very reminiscent of sanji’s no-waste-policy which he would absolutely also have

sanji, sniper

germa 66 has a mafia aesthetic now 👍i only have the willpower to draw reiju here she ended up kind of cluttered but i like my vision

sanji’s backstory is mostly the same: he and his siblings are genetically modified to be the perfect soldiers, but he had a kind nature that made him the target of abuse. after reiju helps him escape, he ends up with zeff and worked as a janitor. zeff loses his leg while trying to save sanji in a maritime accident; though they don’t get stranded anywhere, sanji has to be indebted to him somehow

when the baratie is opened, he works as a busser/guard against unruly guests. flute-of-pan mentioned that he could fire the canons of the ship

when the strawhats meet him on the baratie, sanji still gives don krieg’s crew food. i don’t think his kindness around that would disappear just bc he doesn’t have a whole starving incident

usopp, navigator

on top of bluffing about being the leader of a huge pirate army, he would create fake maps and brag to everyone in syrup village (especially kaya) about these places he so evidently visited. kaya loved his drawings even if the places weren’t real

his dream is to create a Real map of the whole world, not a fake map that he makes up out of stories. drafting the real world makes him a brave explorer of the seas, which he also wants to become :)

when the strawhats meet him, they were basically relying on nami’s limited sailing skills to get around. not only do they get the going merry but they have a real, reliable navigator now! AND he’s multitalented B)

chopper, helmsman

from a young age he set his sights on sailing the seas to escape from the isolation he faced on drum island. he would routinely make little boats for himself to escape the island on, failing each time, and hiriluk would always nurse him back to health

instead of studying to be a doctor, chopper has a general desire to be helpful and acted as an assistant to hiriluk’s medical endeavors

both flute-of-pan and onethousandsunnies pitched that chopper studied stuff like ocean currents!! overall he studied the ocean real hard but would never leave the island without hiriluk

hiriluk’s death would glue him to doctor kureha’s side and it isn’t until the strawhats come that he has the courage to embark on a new journey

franky, muscian

bro grew up running around water 7 trying to get people to join his band. tom and iceberg are still his family. his shipbuilding skills don’t go past an amateur level in this au. he would develop a line of dinky guitars (or instruments in general) that also had lasers/canons/confetti in them. his dream is A FRANKY WORLD TOUR 🤞FREE ADMISSION

many of his weaponized instruments littered the shipyard, spandam uses them in his attack

after the whole tom/spandam situation unfolds, iceberg is the one to find and reconstruct franky into a cyborg after getting run over by the sea train. but he won’t implement piano key abs no matter how much franky asks 🙄

the newly formed franky family protect the city and throw unsolicited concerts in the middle of the street B)

robin, shipwright

though she’s not an archeologist, she still grew up on ohara! instead of archeology, she’s a gifted engineer. her devil fruit made her an outcast and her strange, misunderstood inventions did not help her case

when jaguar d saul gets stranded on ohara, robin constructs the raft for him :) the buster call unfolds the same as canon except this time, everyone’s actually not lying when they say robin can’t read poneglyphs! she never learned!! again flute-of-pan had the cool idea that she is wrongly accused. still, she’s pursued and branded as a devil child

she ends up with crocodile, who believes she can read poneglyphs. she takes advantage of this and earns his protection from the government but her ruse is uncovered when she lies to croc about what alabasta’s poneglyph says (girl cannot read that!)

robin dreams of creating a ship that can carry her and the friends she wishes to have. after meeting robin in alabasta she joins the strawhats!!

brook, doctor

he was the doctor of the rumbar pirates. an injured laboon came to like brook after he nursed him back to health!! when yorki became sick from disease brook tried his hardest to cure him, but failed :(

he was doomed to watch his crewmates die to poison that he cannot hope to cure because he himself was also dying. when he came back thru his fruit it was already too late :( the rumbar pirates Do record a song for laboon though this event cannot be edited 🤞

met in thriller bark; ik that’s a long ass time to go without a real doctor on board

by the time they meet brook everyone’s already so battered that he has to go to town on them with gauze and stitches. the company delights him ^_^

jinbei, archeologist

i mentioned this in the first post abt this au but his interest in history sparked thanks to the history of joyboy and fishman island being so intertwined. at some point in his youth, jinbei frequently visited ohara (prior to the buster call) and grew a strong relationship with the scholars there (i’m just assuming they wouldn’t be racists 🤪) he runs into robin a handful of times

he secretly learns how to read poneglyphs here leading up to the buster call. he wasn’t on the island when it happened so he managed to avoid robin’s fate

his story proceeds the same from there with the neptune army, joining fisher tiger, meeting koala, etc…

i enjoy the idea of getting invited to be a warlord by the government while simultaneously being one of the most wanted people in the world for knowing poneglyph secrets

An au where sanji cheats on charlotte pudding with zoro. But like not really. Is it cheating if u r about to be married off against ur will. Which is messed up. Sorry. But this has so much feelings. If u cd write as a one last time thing. A closure. He is forcefully being married off to her and one last time with zoro is all he asks for .

My first thought was... he wouldn't do that to a woman... but then I thought... well she's pretty honest about not wanting him though... plus - corruption happens gradually.

Idk how agreeable with the timeline hut uh...

EDIT!!! I started doing this in canon but then I stopped because I thought "okay, but this would be better in royalty au", so I started doing that. Sorry for taking a while. I haven't been on my usual groove lately:/

(ok, uhhh here I go making stuff up now)

Sanji had a bit of an on and off relationship, if one could even call it that. It started off as a moment of weakness but then they started enjoying the comforting touches, the hugs, the lingering kisses. It was nice to feel needed, wanted. And not long after, they became... something. Neither of them knew what... but it was something...

Then the WCI thing happened and Sanji felt more alone than ever. He heard how she talked to him behind his back. She started talking like that in front of him too. He was unwanted, unneeded. There was no Luffy, no Nami... no Zoro.

... ok so uh sorry, wait, royalty au now

Sanji was sent off to marry a princess. He had no idea who she was, but what he did know was that he'd get away from his family. Away from his brothers and father at least. That was enough. After his mother's death, his sister was the only one who he felt alright around.

At first he was so happy to have a chance with a beautiful girl like her. But whenever Sanji tried to meet her before the wedding, she told the guards to refuse him. During the wedding she acted sweet, but it seemed more like she was happy at the guests, rather than him. But he was sure it was fine. After the wedding she acted like he wasn't there. When they got to their bed chambers, she finally turned to him and told him she was "Oh, so tired, would you mind leaving the room for me just for tonight, husband dear?" And of course Sanji would! Sure it might have been a political arrangement, but he'd do all he could to be the best husband for her.

One night kicked out of his own chambers turned into two, turned into a week, turned into several months. She hated him. She didn't want to even look at him. Whenever he was in the room, she'd walk out, not even trying to make up an excuse. He would hang around the kitchens a lot, and from time to time he'd hear the staff whisper about how the mistress would talk badly about the mister. He would listen to all the insults she had said about him and how she wished he'd never been born.

It was better than living in fear of being attacked by his brothers or father... but he felt even more lonely.

He grew tired of having to listen to the servants talking about how she talked behind his back. Tired of having their eyes filled with pity on him every time he tried to distract himself with cooking.

He took a trip into town, he paid one of the servants to give him his clothes. Oddly enough the servants seemed to like him quite a bit. So at least he had some of them to cover for him (not that anyway would look for him).

He looked for a bar or restaurant. He had never actually gone out of the castle gates. No one offered to take him out for a tour or even tell him about his people. All he knew about the things around him was because of books and what he's asked from servants.

He soon finds a bar/tavern. Upon walking in, he bumped into someone. He was going to apologize, but then the man scowled at him. He looked dumb, with three swords and green hair. What a pretentious bastard.

Comments were exchanged and before either of them realized it, they were fighting. The owner of the bar/tavern came out - an old man with a braided mustache. He stopped the fight. Turned out that the moss-headed guy was named Zoro and was a bounty hunter, who was in town not for long. "Such a shame though," the swordsman said "I would've lived to spar again, you're almost like an equal."

"Oh yeah?" Sanji gave in "Come any time, I'd love to kick your ass."

"What do you know about anything, castle-loving freak."

Sanji stepped back at Zoro'z words. They were a joke, he was sure but how did he know? "Wh- what do you mean?"

"Isn't that the uniform of the castle servants?"

Sanji could breathe again. "Oh, yeah, I forgot to change..."

Time passed and each day Sanji would go to the tavern. The owner - Zeff, would let him cook in the kitchen sometimes. Zoro was there for a weeks woth of time and then left without a word. A shame, Sanji felt that they could have had a beautiful friendship... Life continued and not much changed. A year more locked out of his chambers, servants whispered about other people being more welcome in the young lady's room than her own husband. He didn't like that word anymore. It felt hollow when it came to her.

And then Zoro came along again. Sanji didn't know he could be that happy. They went back into a routine. Zoro left now and again for jobs, but the days of his absence started to get less and less. First it was several months, then five or four, until he decided to stay for almost a year in town. Sanji didn't want to hope too big, but he gathered up the courage to ask "why"? Why would he keep coming back to a town with no work for him.

Zoro didn't even try to lie that it was work. Sanji had seen him taking up small jobs and sleeping in the tavern for free. Sanji even tried giving him money, but he's as stubborn as a mule.

The swordsman looked at Sanji and told him why, it was "because you're here."

Sanji didn't believe it at first, he wasn't something anyone would want to stay or go anywhere. But then Zoro kept talking about how he wanted to take Sanji with him and travel. But how could Sanji say yes... how could he say no...

He said he needed time but Zoro took it as a no. He left and this time his voyage was almost as big as the first time. But when he came back, he wasn't alone.

Sanji didn't even notice that he was with other people. The moment he spotted him, he leaped into his arms and kissed him. He kissed him like he wished he did a year ago. He told him that he was an idiot and that he didn't mean it as a no, and then he heard the people behind him. Zoro introduced himself again, as the right-hand man of the future king of the pirates.

Luffy laughed and said "So you're the cook that my ship needs! That's so cool! Join my crew!"

Sabosan Modern AU in which Luffy hosts a party in his house because Ace and Sabo are both out for the night and he thinks it's a great opportunity to turn it into fun (because he hates having the place to himself. It's boring and lonely). It's just the usual six people (East Blue crew + Vivi) but they always have so much fun anyway. So the thing is- They're drunk. Wasted. And they don't even get in trouble anyway, they're just playing silly games in the safety of their home and there's nothing wrong with that, surprisingly. It's impressive how they manage to get in more trouble when they're sober. However, Sanji is going through a rough time. He's been quiet all night and everyone knows something's wrong with him because he has been in a mood for the past week, but he's Sanji, so, he won't talk. Something something, Zoro and Sanji fight like usual but this time Sanji is drunk and honest and everything hurts, so he ends up genuinely feeling like shit and going upstairs to ignore everyone because he can't handle all of that right now. Nobody follows him because again, they're all drunk and they don't even know what to do with that and it'd be surprising if they even noticed the fight because, again, drunk and playing games. And since Sanji has always been and always will be in a romantic teenage coming-of-age movie ever since WCI happened, Sabo just casually, randomly, comes back home because of inexplicable reasons (the reason being he fought with Koala in their college dorm for setting on fire one of their books while saying the educational system is a scam and she kicked him out for the night). So the guy sees all this party they have and just goes "I'm too tired for this. Just don't break anything and God, please, don't go into Ace's room" / Usopp: Wait, why? / Sabo: You don't wanna know.

So Sabo goes upstairs to his room, hoping to get some sleep or work done (work being planning his next riot, not studying. Imagine Sabo studying, pffft) but instead, he finds a blond sitting on his bedroom floor on the verge of a panic attack, drunk, crying and begging Sabo not to kick him out because he doesn't want to go back home. Sabo has no idea why the hell he's saying that because he doesn't want to kick them out, especially Sanji, now that he's saying all of these incoherent things about being afraid to go back home. Sabo recognizes what's going on because he has gone through this himself and they also have to deal with Ace's panic attacks a lot. So he helps Sanji calm down and ends up reassuring him that no, he's not going back home tonight. He can stay all he wants. And Sanji keeps crying and whispering things and names Sabo only knows because of magazines and the news ("Vinsmoke Ichiji, next in line to preside the executive table at Germa Enterprises!" / "Commonly known as a heartbreaker, Vinsmoke Niji was recently seen on a date with one of Charlotte Linlin's daughters!" / "Accused of problematic commentaries, Vinsmoke Yonji addresses the discourse by saying, and I quote 'Who the fuck cares?'"). So, alright, Sabo is not fond of the Vinsmoke family and at first he wasn't fond of Sanji either for the same reason, but he's different from them and he has known ever since two years ago the guy came over with lots, and lots of food only because Luffy wasn't eating properly. But Sabo now knows the rich family isn't just full of shit socially but also inside, and seeing Sanji so anxious and weak about it makes his blood boil. Now is not the time to get angry, though, so he just stays by his side and waits for him to calm down, offering him a shoulder to cry on. The guy is drunk and having the breakdown of his life and the only thing Sabo can do right now is be there for him, even if he wishes he could just go over to their ridiculously huge house and burn it down. The things Sanji talks about aren't pretty. They make him want to throw up.

Sanji ends up falling asleep and Sabo takes him to his bed so he doesn't sleep, well, on the floor. Sabo goes downstairs instead. Besides, he has to clean up the mess the others made anyway.

So Sanji wakes up in a random bed, recognizing the room, and wanting to die from the hangover he's having right now. But he remembers everything, sadly, and he wants to die from embarrassment because he just vented to his friend's brother like it's nothing. They get along, but not that much to do shit like this. He wants to try and sneak out of their house before anybody notices, but of course, Sabo does. It seems the guy has a power for these things. But Sabo is extremely nice, actually, and it isn't that awkward in the end. They're alone because the others got up earlier to go home and Luffy went with them too to spend the rest of the day with Zoro (wow, who could've guessed). Sanji doesn't want to go home but he needs to get the fuck out of here because he feels like he's intruding, especially since Sabo has made breakfast (normal, regular breakfast. Nothing too special but it's way more than what he expected from these siblings). He has to finish eating and then he'll go home! But then Sabo offers him a shower and- Okay. He'll go home after having breakfast and showering! But then Sabo tells him to, please, stay, and be my guest, it's a bit boring here on my own and I want an excuse not to study. And how can Sanji say no to the guy who has helped him so much? So he stays. And one thing leads to another and it's already nighttime because they actually have a lot of things in common and they have fun together- But Sanji needs to go home. Now. Because if the news finds out about him being away for this long it's gonna be a problem and his brothers will be twice as annoying.

Sabo finally lets him go but- But there's something in his eyes when he does. He's worried sick. He's so concerned for him that it's aching inside of Sanji's heart too. Sanji wants to stay the same way Sabo wants him to not go. Almost begs him to. But he can't. But Sanji knows, then, that if he ever needs somebody to talk to, Sabo isn't that far from home anyway.

I really wanna draw a happy birthdayboy Sanji all smiley and wobbly 💗💗💗 but cant sketch anything new rn and cleaning the comic is much easier, no thoughts, head empty

Anyway, ramble time

I don't have much experience with making comics, the żabka AU one being the one I roughed out first, but it was much less complicated. I dont recall making a serious comic effort before that... I now have a newfound admiration for drawing fight scenes, found it extremely hard lmao Generally I keep second guessing myself, always thinking I should have added more panels to make what's happening more clear, not sure if the flow of it is right. Even though I already moved onto cleaning I still keep making changes to the sketched out panels that were supposed to be final lol I also second guess the plot I'd planned, maybe I didn't think this characterization through enough? What if people dislike it?

But! If I keep tweaking and overthinking it I'll end up never posting it and I don't want that. And if I focus on other people's judgement I won't find joy in making art and I don't want that either.

So here's to sharing art! Regardless of mistakes and doubts 💗

Expanding on the split!Zoro au

I wanted to write out the time frame and other little details.

This au mostly works with the post time-skip but if you can write anything before then go for it. (I wanna see 👀)

I'll be writing post-WCI pre-wano (gotta add the vinsmoke angst) so spoilers ahead.

Addressing the Zoros will be based on the sword they have. (Luffy still just calls them all Zoro and Sanji still calls him all the nicknames)

Wado would be with the "younger" mindset since he has the passion and drive started from Kuina's rivalry/death. (He'll kill anyone who tries to take it away)

Sandai would be with the aggressive Zoro. Bandana tied on with a cursed sword in hand, trouble will happen. (Possible plot point 👀)

Shusui with the stoic Zoro since it's one of the more powerful swords, it needs to be in the hands of someone responsible.

said this in ye olde author's note on the bodyswap fic but the thing about whole cake island as an arc and trying to canon-divergence it is that if you want to be a complete pedant* about making sure the net result (specifically wano) doesn't end up too deeply altered, it's really hard to change anything because the arc is so tightly and specifically plotted to make it so that every character involved really couldn't be somewhere else

*it's me, i'm the pedant. and i mean really:

if brook hadn't gone to WCI, who would have gotten the poneglyph rubbings?

if nami hadn't gone to WCI, how would she have fared in the raid on onigashima without zeus?

chopper probably would have just had to hide during wano, unfortunately; on WCI, he could at least help protect nami

WCI is a stealth mission - what could the crew as a whole have possibly done all together that wouldn't have immediately brought even more attention to them all even more quickly?

the WCI squad can't stand and fight during the wedding because they don't have the whole crew with them (specifically zoro and his fighting skill), but how well would that even have gone for them, considering that literally all of big mom's officers were there?

what would zoro - god love him but he's a bull in a china shop - have been able to do during WCI when it was a game of subtlety from the very beginning

which is not at all to hate on "zoro goes to WCI" AUs in any way (i will generally devour just about any canon divergence out there) (feed me more) (i am asking for recs) but as i specifically am the aforementioned complete pedant about wanting to make a canon divergence that makes sense when i'm the one writing it, WCI is so difficult to pick apart because it just can't go any differently and still have the same impact. sanji isn't sanji if he doesn't commit that batshit insane act of self-sacrifice. luffy isn't luffy if he doesn't follow sanji. you (i) can't put anyone else anywhere else without breaking a whole bunch of shit in the process. wait ohmygod imagine lusan in warlord!sanji au. luffy goes through so many shovel talks that stop midattempt bc all the warlords are very protective over their kid but they can tell without minutes of meeting luffy that hes the best there can be. luffy has no idea theres a shovel talk hes just happy to talk to ppl who have sanjis baby pictures and embarrassing stories. tho i guess this kinda scenario works with other ships too

God that'd be hilarious. I feel like Jinbei wouldn't even try honestly after seeing WCI. And he is talking to the others. They all coparent someone who is so reckless and willing to die. It's like they kidnap the seraphim and go to Karai Bari where the warlords are all at because Jinbei called ahead and is like "I HAVE NEWS I WILL TELL YOU WHEN WE GET THERE!"

The Warlords and the Strawhats are all staring at each other as Boa tries not to swoon for Luffy. The seraphim are with them and looking at them all like they're dumb. Jinbei is so excited as he looks at his other coparents who are looking at mini versions of themselves and to the pirate crew and then to Jinbei specifically. Buggy is so confused and scared. He knows that Sanji is the kid of his "lieutenants" and the other three warlords but like honestly, he's scared.

"What the hell are these?" Crocodile asks.

"Seraphim is what Vegapunk called them. Look at them! It's us!" Jinbei says excitedly. "I know I've been unfairly having too much time-"

"You're in the crew!" Boa yells with a finger. "Of course you get a bunch of extra time with them!"

"But now with these you can all have a child again as well!" Jinbei grins and Mihawk just crouches down in that "Oh no God why me way" as he looks at their kid. Basically. Sanji is gripping their hair which Jinbei tries to get him to let go of. Doffy strings Sanji's hands to get them to stop. The Crew is ready to fight.

"Calm down, it's fine, I wasn't going to kill them this time." Doffy laughs.

"Oh but you would have last time?!" Sanji yells at him.

"If it came to it." Doffy shrugs with a grin and Sanji just starts yelling at him in a foreign language. Doffy is just laughing and then Sanji's legs light on fire and Mihawk groans. Crocodile sighs while Boa runs forward and holds Sani in a bear hug and squeals about no one mentioning that! She has Sanji in the air and spinning. Sanji is yelling at her now as Doffy laughs his ass off.

"What is going on?" Usopp asks in despair.

"He's our child, duh." Boa says.

"Well I'm their boyfriend so can you let them go?" Luffy asks. Nami chops Luffy's head, Zoro is screaming at Luffy for saying that and Mihawk for hiding it.

"So just to be clear, our child can set themself on fire, is dating their captain, Doffy almost killed them and would have if it came to it." Crocodile says.

"And they can sky walk." Jinbei nods proudly. Boa screams in delight and swings Sanji around more as they screams in another language and just losing it at his crew but Luffy blanks out.

"Sanji. Family meeting. Buggy, entertain them." Mihawk demands.

"Why me? Are you taking those things?" Buggy screams gesturing at the seraphim.

"No." And all the parents leave and Sanji is being carried by Boa as he's still yelling.

After the meeting Doffy, Crocodile, and Jinbei agree it's not worth trying to give Luffy a shovel talk. Boa and Mihawk on the other hand are going to give their child's captain a deep, deep, shovel talk. Also everyone is asking about the fire and Boa and Crocodile are picking apart his outfit which Boa and Sanji say Croc doesn't really have a leg to stand on there.

When they filter out of the tent where said family meeting took place they see Buggy and some of his crew members doing circus acts for the Strawhats and Seraphim. Luffy immediately rockets to Sanji and saying he's hungry and Sanji nods and invites everyone to the Sunny for dinner.

"Wait, so did you know Sanji before us?" Usopp asks Robin.

"No, I had heard of them but by the time I joined Sanji was already working at Baratie." Robin answers.

"How come you never told me the cook was your kid?" Zoro asks Mihawk.

"Because that would include explaining this convoluted mess and Sanji would have told you if they wanted to." Mihawk answers. "Strawhat found out at Marineford."

"What'd I find out?" Luffy asks.

"That we are Sanji's parents. Although there was quite a lot going on so I don't blame you for forgetting." Jinbei says with a pat to Luffy's shoulder.

"How did five warlords even end up with a kid?" Franky asks.

"Mihawk got me and Zeff off the rock and I went with him. Didn't want to leave me alone on Kuriagana so I went with him to meetings." Sanji shrugs. "The first few times I went with the others was because he had a job and then I just started getting passed around."

"You were so tiny back then!" Boa wails as she grabs Sanji and holds them close. Franky sets up the barbeque outdoor counters and Sanji frees themself and mutters the whole way to the galley to start gathering ingredients and supplies. Boa saddles up next to Luffy and starts to try the shovel talk but then she watches Sanji start chopping and slicing as the grill heats and just watches Luffy watch Sanji with the softest eyes. So instead she thanks him for getting Sanji back from Germa.

"Well yeah, he's my cook." Luffy says like it's obvious and suddenly to Boa it is.

Mihawk tries when Sanji drags Zoro to go do dishes with him saying it shouldn't take too long. Luffy is playing with the Seraphim who seem interested but confused. Luffy doesn't have a lot patience but he does have a lot of perseverance so he takes to teaching these things easily. Mihawk simply nods at Luffy who smiles widely at him.

When Sanji comes back out Nami wraps an arm around them and with a devilish grin.

"So how many drinks do I have to give out before I start to hear embarrassing stories?" Nami asks sweetly.

"Please don't." Sanji says.

"One time I took Perona and Baby 5 to Baratie and Sanji almost died five times!" Doffy calls from where he's perched next to Crocodile.

"Perona knew!?" Zoro yells.

"Yes, but she would only go to Kuriagana. I spent a lot of time painting nails." Mihawk drawls.

"Oh, I forgot to mention on our previous phone call but Sanji did kick Saint Jupiter." Jinbei nods proudly.

Mihawk pinches the bridge of his nose and groans as Doffy laughs. Boa is once again swinging Sanji around, Crocodile nods his approval at their child. Sanji is then pulled to their captain as the parents tell about Sanji's childhood. Boa coming through with photos she had marines take at warlord meetings of Sanji and their parents doing their absolute best or worst depending on the photo.

♥ Hello hello! My name is Spots (20 and she/her) and I’m currently looking for a One Piece (specifically the anime/manga) writing partner.

Specifically, I was hoping to do an OC x Canon roleplay with doubling because I’m a silly indulgent dumpster gremlin. That said, there are certain rules and facts to keep in mind:

• I currently am on Ennies Lobby (I’m an anime watcher but tempted to pick up the manga. I’m just terrible at reading) and while I am aware of spoilers, I would prefer to only play characters that appear before or during the arc. Yes I am aware that is at the beginning and it does lead to some characters like Law and Doflamingo being excluded so if this is a turn off for you I completely understand. If, not epic! That said, I am doing my best to get through the show quickly and know too many spoilers (… I spoiled a good chunk of WCI for myself cause I am a sucker for Sanji content) so you don’t have to worry about completely tiptoeing around spoilers with me.

•If you can’t tell by my icon and the talk about spoilers, I would love to play against Sanji. I’m just a sucker for this silly little guy man. That said, if you’re willing to play him for me, I would be down to play just about anyone for you in return as long as like I said, I’ve been able to see them on the screen.

•That said, this is not a requirement but I would love to have our OCs involved in the same plot rather then being in two separate stories because I am a sucker for OC interactions and the stories feeling connected. So I would be especially be down to play another Strawhat for you (especially Zoro since I feel like that could allow for some very funny interactions but I’m down for anything).

•While my pairing is MxF, I am lgbtq+ friendly so feel free to hit me with any pairing on your side

• I prefer to rp on Discord but am down to try other formats just inform me.

•I am a literate-novella roleplayer and often tend to write 2-3 paragraphs at the very least and have written some pretty long winded posts. That said, I never expect the same length. Just quality replies I can work with.

•I love OOC and headcanons. Please please hit me with all your ideas, memes, rambles. I beg. I will eat all that stuff up. All I ask is that we both show equal interest in each other’s stuff and it doesn’t feel like one’s OC is more important than the other. If you ever feel like that is the case with me, tell me and I, in return, will tell you.

•That said, you don’t need an OC prepared to respond. If anything, feel free to message me if you don’t have an OC at all because I would adore to bounce ideas off of each other and see what we can make together. Okay, well in my mind the Sora Warrior Of The Sea are fiction. They're like Batman or Superman but ig maybe more of a magical girl version of the power rangers???

I wanna say that WCI has to be one of my fav arcs as well I live it to bits! And that's one of the reasons I honestly don't know how to do it lol

I have a little post in my drafts about Zou but WCI I haven't really made up my mind. The two posts are kinda intertwined so I'll tey to post it right after this answer.

I did try to shower-think it and I came up with a few ideas but idk if I like them enough':)

At some point, Judge had started getting bad press for having a son he abandoned and is now in a mental hospital. He didn't know how the word got out, but it did and he decided that he'd get him out and treat him in some private place but it was very obvious that he didn't want to go and since he was a legal adult, he could decide for himself. (Even if he wanted to leave, the doctors were the only ones who could dismiss him after he signed himself in.)

About his brothers - They look a lot like the heroes from the Germa comics and act just as uptight and heartless as them. Subconsciously, Luffy must have mistaken them for "The Warriors Of The Sea". But in reality they're just brats who used to bully their brother - mean little kids who grew up to be even worse adults. Sanji's sister, however, I imagine has visited before, only this time she wasn't dressed like she was in hiding. The Vinsmoke family (in my head) is a bit like the Rockefellers - everyone knows who they are and it's hard to drop their name in a casual conversation and not get some kind of reaction.

In regards to his past - Sanji still got abused and beaten up by both his father and brothers. But instead of being a failed experiment, he was just a nice little boy who didn't like sports and competing in things, he just liked stereotypically girly things like butterflies flowers, cooking, and pretty things. His father didn't like that, as he believed that all his dons should be manly men who won chess tournaments, so soccer games, basketball matches or martial arts competitions. If they weren't the strongest, smartest, most handsome men in their circle, then they were no sons of his. And Sanji didn't meet that criteria. He didn't care for sports or competing, he just wanted to have fun and to have friends. Don't get me wrong, he was still smart. But wanting to be a cook is not exactly a good look if all of your family is just CEOs and multimillionaire company holders. Or at least in Judge's eyes. So when Sanji ran away at 12 (I'm making him older to make it more realistic), Judge just closed his eyes and reported him missing in the wrong region so he couldn't be found and so the investigation could declare him dead after the appropriate amount of years.

The golden bracelets were real, but they weren't exploding, Judge just used them to yank Sanji when he got mad at him and threaten him. "I'll cut them off till wherever they reach!" he'd say, so Sanji would wish to be skinnier so if they slip off, then maybe he wouldn't cut his hands off? That was his child logic at least. That's how his questionable relationship with food started, but later on he'd just starve himself to feel like he still has control over something in his life. Anything. That or as a punishment to himself, more than often he wouldn't believe he deserved food or he'd think that there are people with bigger needs than him. So he'd lose appetite and maybe feel sick enough to throw up. (Him having bulimia is one of the many reasons why hates himself and thinks he doesn't deserve food, because why eat if he'd just throw it up?(Zoro hates that he thinks that way btw and he tries feeding him every once in a while because he'd notice that Sanji could scarcely say no to him. Plus he likes taking care of him))
