Hazardcore is an aesthetic that’s already existed for a long time, but that I’ve incorporated into my near-post-scarcity worldbuilding project.
What do people in such a post scarcity world do? With no job, free rent, free food, free internet, a monthly stipend around $1500 (2023 continental US buying power… ish) and hobby shops nearby, hiking trails everywhere, drugs, power tools, and spray paint available for a reasonable price, all delivered by automated train from… y’know… over there. Somewhere.
The (a) result is Hazardcore, a movement of people who enjoy dangerous hobbies of all kinds sharing their experiences and custom gear online, seeking out ways to top themselves and each other, design and build new equipment to do it, and make sure you’ve got the skill and balls to pull it off.
I doodle fashion designs, but that can tell part of the story. They incorporate a lot of caution stripes, warning labels, and bright colors, both for fun and because it can legit save your life.
And as any subculture that people devote their entire lives to has, it’s developed more… frivolous fashion as well. Sometimes fashion gets in the way of safety and… well, medical care is also free and bloodstains fit the aesthetic.
And a lot of people die. It’s widely socially discouraged. Some people call it a cult.
I spent way too much time working on these "Warning Fragile" stickers, lol… 😅
(And no this is not a commercial project/work-for-hire; I just felt like I wanted to make them, earlier this week… a digital-doodle of sorts, if you will...)

“He had just about enough intelligence to open his mouth when he wanted to eat, but certainly no more.” ― P.G. Wodehouse
Did someone really try to eat the box? This must be a message to all the Stoners with a powerful hankering from the munchies. I was already worried about humanity, but I now am terrified.
Stupid people winning stupid prizes is not something new. What is new is social media…
One of the things that's funny when you work for a biotech startup is the beta users end up being your coworkers. They are in the trenches with you trying to get this damn thing to work while the VPs only hired because they know someone and the VC firms feel far more removed from your reality.
There was one job, forever ago now, round one, the user manual was super basic, do A then B amount X. As time went on we added highlighted warnings and notes about how the experimental would fail if you did the opposite of directions. From the beta testers point of view, each iteration included more and more ridiculous warnings like "if you forget to put in your sample the experiment will be useless" or "if you don't mix all those chemicals you put together...uhh things will fall." And I'm in industry, I've become numb to stupid shit people do in the lab, but this research assistant over the course of a year, I will never forget her face every time I saw her pointing to the latest warning knowing full well not only did someone do this not but they made a fuss it was reasonable mistake that we had to write about it...I've never felt so seen.
youve heard of sex flowers get ready for the flower that makes you into a celestial shoujo herione complete with particle effects you cannot turn the fuck off and creates a wifebeam so powerful it can incapacitate and maim and keeps making you burst into tears and fall on your ass which makes the wifebeam More Powerful and you also cannot turn this off either.

This is Mouse (She/Him/It), my floor cleaning coworker. He works autonomously.
We are all very nice to her but I'm especially Normal™ for him. I thought you might appreciate meeting it
I am so happy that my various machinery/robot posts have prompted people to send me cool things! What a beautiful creature with a beautiful name... the green plastic mouse taped onto it. She is so wonderful and the world is full of joy.
