In honor of Father's Day, I have some headcanons about the Wachowski bros and when/how each of them started to call Tom and Maddie, "Dad" and "Mom".

Wachowski Family Headcanons: ✨Putting a Label on it✨

"I've got a lot more than that, Dad."

Sonic obviously first calls Tom "Dad" at the end of the second movie. For a while he slips into automatic and calls him "Tom" occasionally, but deliberately calls him Dad whenever he thinks about it until it's ingrained in his head. "Donut Lord" is still a popular go-to as well.

Sonic calls Maddie "Mom" within a few days of calling Tom "Dad". He does it deliberately since he doesn't want her to feel left out about him calling Tom "Dad" now. Don't get him wrong, he does feel that way about her, but it's just a little hard because it feels almost like betraying Longclaw. It helps a bit that he never actually called Longclaw his mom. He's quickly able to say "Mom" with complete genuineness, and he knows Longclaw would be supportive of it.

Tails hears Sonic calling them Mom and Dad and almost immediately begins to think of them that way, although he's too shy to call them that for a few weeks. Sonic encourages him to say something after Tails confesses to him how much he wants to call them that. Tails finally goes to Tom and Maddie and asks very shyly if he can call them that. They are of course thrilled, and from then on he calls them "Mom" and "Dad".

Knuckles takes the longest of all of them. He's been alone so long and had to basically be an adult, so he has a hard time thinking of anyone as his parent. He does start to think of the whole family as his tribe, and is content for a while to leave it at that, without more labels. However, after a couple of months, he is able to loosen up and think of them more parentally. One day he calls Maddie "Mother" without even thinking. He gets a little awkward about it, but is soon comfortable enough to call her that regularly.

It's a little harder with Tom. Knuckles cares a lot about him, but deep down is afraid it would be dishonoring to his biological father to think about anyone else that way. Tom takes him out on the lake like he did with Sonic, and assures him that it's okay for him to miss his real dad and not to want to call him that, but that Tom will always be there to take care of him in whatever way he needs. Knuckles spends a lot of time in thought about it, and realizes that his real father would have wanted him to find someone older and wiser to mentor him. He starts to talk about Tom as his "adoptive father" and "father figure." Tom appreciates it, but is thrilled when one day they're out working on a project together and Knuckles finally just calls him "Father".

💙 For Christmas, Tom and Maddie got Knuckles one of them..I forgot what u call em..music boxing machine thingys, that you attach to the wall and you punch different areas on board on time to the beat of a song.

Yeeeeah not only did he destroy that the moment his fists made contact, but he also left a little costly gift of his own for his parents on the same wall where it once was…

❤️ Sonic still has to check with Maddie to know whether a certain cup, bowl or container is microwave save.

Sonic: Hey Tails, can this go in the microwave?

Tails: ………*shrugs*

Sonic: Oh come on- *immediately calls Maddie waiting for her to pick up* Mommy ANSWER……MOMMY!!

Tails very well knows…he just wants to see his brother go into panic state

🧡 The brothers when bowling

Knuckles: Grabs the heaviest ball and chucks it with one arm, and somehow manages to get a couple strikes. However he has had a few warnings and even got his family suspended from the complex for what he claimed to be “minor damage” (he threw a ball up into the screen displaying the scores and another time, smashed a ball down too hard on a lane it went straight through the floor)

Tails: Still struggles to lift the ball properly so he uses two hands when holding/throwing it. Sometimes he will use the ramp that is available or he gets help with his stance from a family member (usually Maddie). Doesn’t make strikes often but his family is super encouraging and supportive towards him and he is determined not to give up, and when he makes one for the first time, they go absolutely wild. They’d fill the room with their screams and shouts and all ambush the fox with hugs and kisses and praises for his mini milestone. Tom would pick Tails up and sit him on his shoulder as they all chant his name…the smile on Tails’ face could not be any wider, he was the happiest boy in the world at that moment. But shortly after he bursts into tears because never had he experienced anything like this in his life. His tiny heart just couldn’t handle all this appreciation, support and love that came from a place he once least expected.

Sonic: IS the bowling ball. He’d often forms an alliance with Tom to become the undefeatable father/son duo, though Maddie just sees it as cheating, as wholesome and funny as it is. Sonic once got trapped behind the fence that comes down once you knock over the pins, and had to come out through the channel that returns the balls. They get a bit hesitant on this as they’re worried he might get stuck under there. When he’s not being the ball, he’s either helping Tails, dancing to the music, or begging his parents to do the mii spinning action from wii sports when he chucks the ball behind him.

💙 When Tom is out on his street patrols around town, the boys sneak out and follow him.

Cue to the part where he’s taking a break in a parking lot, looks out the window just to see his 3 sons in the distance sitting on the fence…with Sonic holding a fishing rod with a bag of donuts hooked on the end of the line, the trio snickering away as he made eye contact.

They were clearly tryna lure him in, The Donut Lord, with donuts! Some smart cookies they were…he shook his head, smiling to himself before muttering through the mic, “Tempting…”

He could hear the 3 cackling in the distance, Sonic almost having a Humpty Dumpty incident.

Well, I have the haedcanon that Sonic likes to be petted behind the ears or etc, but he doesn't like to show it (he has a reputation to take care of xd).

Sometimes it's allowed but only if it's Tom or Maddie (privileges).

If someone else comes up to him to try it, it will make him uncomfortable and he will pull away a bit.

(some people in town have tried it before because they thought he was a cat or something, but some people still don't get it and still see him as a "pet"... which he hates and makes him overthink it).

You think the Wachowski boys like Star Wars?

I bet they would!

Sonic definitely would. That kid is a sucker for action movies, and since he's a nerd for Keanu Reeves movies, Marvel, and DC (at least the DC comics), I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's already a Star Wars fan. 🤣💙 I just love how Sonic Wachowski is a nerd like us. 🥰

I think Tails would enjoy them, but also be more picky on the accuracy of them. Being an alien himself and having actually traveled space, plus having an extensive knowledge on machinery and space travel, he'd probably get nit-picky on the details and realism (or lack thereof) in the Star Wars movies. 🤣💛

I'm still trying to figure out how Knuckles Wachowski would enjoy movies, but if the tidbits from the series have anything to say, he understands them as visual stories and seems to enjoy watching them. I'm not sure how he'd enjoy science fiction, but I think he'd find all the battle scenes highly entertaining!

I think a movie night with Star Wars in the Wachowski home would be very interesting to say the least. 🤣💙💛❤️

“The Legend of the Wailing Head Village” (as told by Knuckles)

 Their camping trip had been going well so far.  Maddie had her doubts at first.  Two of her kids spent most of their lives as in-voluntary campers.  She hadn’t been sure they wouldn’t take to it as a recreational activity.  Apparently she didn’t need to worry, because, honestly?  Knuckles was like a pig in mud out here.  He'd actually seemed disappointed they had tents and wouldn’t be sleeping in self-dug burrows.  And while Sonic had obviously been very bored on their hike, campfire chilli dogs (more magical than regular chilli dogs!) and s’mores were right up his alley.

 That said, Knuckles was less than impressed with scary stories around the campfire.  “You mean they aren’t true?  How can they be scary if they aren’t true?”

 “Ugh,” Sonic rolled his eyes as he flicked off the flashlight he’d been holding under his chin during his rendition of the man with the hook hand.  “You’re no fun.”

 “Scary things are not fun.”

 “Agree to disagree, big guy.”

 “Maybe you can tell the next one?”  Tails piped up.  “Sonic’s been telling all the famous scary stories from here, but are there any scary echidna stories?”

 Knuckles frowned.  “There are… but they are not made up.”

 Sonic rolled his eyes again.  “Bet they’re not even that scary.”

 “They are!  I have one… it is truly horrific.” Knuckles glared.

 Sonic zipped over, handed Knuckles the flashlight, then zipped back to sit between her and Tom.  “Prove it, tough guy!”

 Knuckles glowered, but was always up for a challenge.  He stood up on the bench and carefully switched on the flashlight, holding it under his chin like Sonic had.  Maddie probably should have told him this wasn’t required for scary story telling, but it was kind of adorable and she didn’t want to interrupt.

 Knuckles cleared his voice and took a moment to gather his thoughts before he took a deep breath and began.  “There once was a… very scary witch.”

 Sonic burst into giggles.  “Oh, I can tell this is gonna be an excellent scary story already!”

 Knuckles scowled at him, but pressed on: “He called himself a doctor… But I very much doubt he has received a doctorate and he was not a healer by the standards of our people.”

 “Impersonating a doctor?  Nothing could be more frightening,” Sonic chimed in.

 Tom nudged him.  “Hey, be nice and listen.”

 “My people had an innate connection with chaos energy,” Knuckles boasted. “And we could use it to manipulate the chaos energy in plants.  But a single mistake can cause death or worse, thus only the high priestesses were allowed to manipulate chaos energy in an animal or person.  The witch broke this rule when he…”  Knuckles paused and something pinged Maddie’s Mom-Radar.  “He broke the rule.

 He… was obsessed with this one echidna legend… Which could be a scary story all on its own.  His ambition was to revive an ancient echidna demigod who dwells, scattered in the Chaos Force.  He thought one with power such as mine could be used as a vessel for this god.  He manipulated my great-uncle–”

 “Great-uncle?”  Sonic sat up.  “Wait, is this like… one of those ‘it happened to my uncle’ almost  true stories?”

 “This is a completely true story,” Knuckles scowled.  “It happened to my great-uncle and to my great-aunt and to me! For I am in this story as well.”

 “Well, that makes you questioning this guy’s doctorate status hilarious actually.”

 “This story is not hilarious,” Knuckles said very seriously.  “It is a sobering reminder of what happens when you manipulate chaos energies in living beings and meddle in forces you do not fully comprehend!”

 “Okay, let’s settle!”  Maddie cut in.  “Sonic: no more interruptions.  Knuckles: go ahead, honey.”  This story was already making her feel uneasy, but Knuckles wasn’t exactly a ‘sharer’ and she wanted to hear what he had to say.

 Knuckles’ scowl deepened and she thought for a minute that he might refuse to continue.  Apparently the urge to prove to Sonic that his story really was scary was too great.

 “He manipulated my great-uncle into helping him.  I was only just at walking age and it was easy for my great-uncle to lure me from my parents and bring me to the witch-doctor.”  The Mom-Radar was pinging again.  “Of course, I was too young to serve as a vessel for a god.  My tribe believed their plan was to infuse my great-uncle with my power so he might be the vessel.”

 “Why couldn’t this fake doctor use himself?  Oops!”  Sonic clapped a hand over his mouth and looked apologetically up at Maddie.

 Knuckles’ scowl deepened and it took a moment for him to continue:  “He… did try previously.  Using me.”  There it was.  Red flag located.  “He attempted to siphon power from me–”

 “Holy crap?!  Did it… hurt?”  Sonic asked.  Maddie touched his shoulder, either to quiet his interruptions or calm his concern, she wasn’t sure which.

 Knuckles glared at him before he spoke at length.  “It was agony.  Now shut up.”  He continued, oblivious or uncaring to how this admission affected the rest of them.

 “Chaos energy does strange things in those who are not meant to have it.  He gained a sort of chaos power but… it was wrong.  Certainly not something he could draw a god from.  It also left him physically and mentally altered.  Also he was banished.  Which is why he needed my great-uncle, Dimitri, to sneak me out of the village for his second attempt.”

 This story was already horrifying, but not for the reasons Knuckles seemed to think.

 “Of course, it all went wrong,” Knuckles continued, his gaze falling on the campfire.  “The chaos energy put in my great-uncle recoiled.  His body was destroyed until the only thing left was his head.  Unfortunately, it had been so infused with chaos energy that he survived his dismemberment.”

 Tails pressed against her.

 “My people were already searching for me,” Knuckles carried on. “They heard Dimitri’s screams and followed them.  The witch fled before they arrived, and when they did, they were so repulsed by what had become of my great-uncle, they immediately sought to end his suffering by driving an ax through his skull.”  She put her arm around Tails.

 “Unfortunately the head healed from this wound.  At this point, I was taken away.  I did not witness the rest of it, but I’m told they attempted numerous methods to end his life.  Even to the hardened warriors it was so horrific that eventually the chief and high priestess sent them away.  They built a fire and threw his head in the flames.”

 Their campfire flickered ominously.

 “When nothing was left but ash, they dug a hole to bury the remains.  But as the high priestess began to give final rights they realized the ashes were knitting themselves back together.”

 Sonic leaned against her just as Tails pressed even closer.

 “Unable to think of anything else, they waited until his head had reformed enough to speak and asked what he wanted them to do.  He first asked for me, thinking a little more of my power might restore him.”  Maddie’s breath caught.  “They refused.”  She breathed again.  “He next asked for his family.  He asked for their care.”

 Something in his voice changed, lightened, as he explained: “Sometimes in my tribe, a warrior would be injured, or a child might be born in such a way that they couldn’t quite care for themselves.  In these cases their family would care for them, with the rest of the tribe supporting.  This is what he asked for.

 “The chief returned to the village and asked my great-aunt and grandmother if they would take up his care.  My grandmother refused.  My parents would not have him anywhere near me and she agreed.  If he were in her home, then I would not be allowed there and this was unacceptable to her.  The task fell to my great-aunt and her family.

 “The chief took her out to where the high priestess guarded Dimitri's head.  My great-aunt wrapped him in a blanket and carried him home.  But when they reached the center of the village she collapsed to the ground.  Dimitri had siphoned the chaos energy from her, killing her.”

 Maddie gasped, and she wasn’t the only one.

 “He asked for me again.  He was certain my energy would be enough to restore him.  One of her children tried to pull my great-aunt’s body away and nearly collapsed doing so.  It took many attempts to retrieve her.  No one could get close to him without becoming weak.  He was drawing in chaos energy like a leech.  Still he cried out for me.”

 Maddie didn’t know when she and Tom had started holding hands until she started squeezing his.

 “The chief used a long branch to push Dimitri’s head into a dry well.  But the echo only made his screams stronger.  When the grass and shrubs around the old well began to shrivel up, the high priestess declared that it was not safe for us to remain anywhere near him.  The tribe packed up and the village emptied by midday.”

 Knuckles shrugged as though the rest of the story was natural, casual.  Routine.  “The warriors barred the entrances.  The priestesses placed seals on the barricades.  My father helped inscribe warnings on the walls, since he spoke the most languages.”  A touch of pride entered his voice at that.  “All the while, Dimitri screamed for them.

 “We moved to the far side of the island.”  Knuckles looked up.   “It was a terrible thing for my people, but they told the story of the Wailing Head Village to the tribe’s children so we would know why it was important not to meddle with the living chaos force… and also that if we should find a barricaded village on our travels, that we should stay far away, even if we hear a cry for help from within.”

 He turned the flashlight off and jumped down from the bench.  “The end.”

 Maddie suppressed a shiver.  There was a long, long silence, finally broken by Sonic:

 “Okay.  You win.  That was horrifying.”

 “It wasn’t really true though, right?  It’s just a made-up scary story, right?”  Tails was practically in Maddie’s lap; he was squeezed so close.

 “I told you it was true,” Knuckles said, somewhat affronted.

 “But you don’t really remember it, yourself right?” Sonic asked.  “Maybe your family made it up?  Or-or-or!”  He backtracked quickly at Knuckles’ outraged expression.  “OR!  They massaged the truth?  I mean it is a good story to convince you not to mess with chaos energy.  Something they probably would’ve had an interest in… what with having a superpowered toddler and all?”

 Knuckles shook his head.  “No.  I do not remember much, but I remember the tribe moving.  The chaos of it all.  And my parents would not let me leave their sides, which was unusual because I had always been allowed to wander in the village.  And I remember…” He tapped his head.  “It is permanently carved here… I remember my great-uncle’s face when he realized his body was gone.  How he screamed at me.”

 Tails shuddered and Knuckles noticed.  “Fear not, Tails.”

 Tails perked up, obviously hopeful that Knuckles would debunk his story.

 “Dimitri is only a head.  Even if he is still alive, he cannot climb out of the well.”

 “Oh,” Tails deflated.  “Okay.  That’s… not that reassuring.”

 “This means that he cannot drain your chaos energy.”

 “Okay…”

 “He is not under your bed or in your closet.”

 “O-kay!”  Maddie cut in.  “That was a great–” super fucked up“--scary story, Knuckles!  Maybe Tom can find his guitar and we can do some campfire songs!”  She looked to her husband in a mild panic.

 “I like that idea!”  Tom jumped up.  “Lemme get it from the truck…”  He started off, leaving the comforting ring of light around their campfire.

 “Y’know, Knux!” Sonic said in his ‘I’m trying to lighten the mood’ voice: “I’m with you.  I don’t think that witch guy had a valid medical license.”

 “No,” Knuckles said.  “I doubt that he does.”

 The present tense scared her more than anything else.

Tom wonders how to get the star on top of their Christmas tree. Maddie is about to call Tails when Sonic grabs the star and has Knuckles throw him to the top, only for the tree to collapse on him.

And, that kid fell off the wing of a plane and landed in the woods with no hesitation during the final battle and fought a giant-ass robot, nothing is impossible for him to do anymore.

Sonic "was" afraid of calling Tom and Maddie his parents

Another moment from Sonic 2 I think about sometimes is the line: "You're supposed to be my friend. Stop trying to be my dad."

First of all, that line nearly broke my heart.

Second, it gave me a new headcanon to work on and OH MAN

Sonic have always looked up to Tom and Maddie because of how cool they are. Protecting the town and caring for animals, of course it's cool.

But after the events of the first movie, it's pretty clear that Tom and Maddie are more than that. They protected him. They gave him a room under their roof.

No. His roof.

They took him in despite everything. They gave him a new home. A new family. Tom and Maddie is his new family. The very people he looked up to since he was just a little hedgehog.

It was everything he could ever ask for. For years he has been protecting himself and his powers from anyone who wanted it for themselves. Yet it came with a price. Self isolation.

It was total hell to be alone for one whole DECADE. All he ever wanted was friends, or at least a family to care for him.

But now those days of hiding are over. He finally has what he's been dreaming of having. A family. Parents.

But

He has his worries get the best of him every now and then.

He always looked at Tom and Maddie as his friends. But he had struggled to call them his parents for as long as he can remember.

Deep down he had always looked at them as his mom and dad as well but he just couldn't have the heart to say it out loud. He should just say it! Why wouldn't he call them now?

There is a good reason.

Perhaps that said reason was from way before he went to Earth. Maybe a few days before he lost Longclaw.

He might've thanked her for taking him in and being there for him.

He might've called her "Mom."

Before the Echidna attacked and he was forced to leave his home planet, left to believe that Longclaw had died.

That his mother had died.

The moment he gave in to the idea of having a mother figure, or any kind of parental figure, to look out for him, it immediately blew away like ash.

He just wanted a family, a group of people to love and accept him for who he is. But no matter what happens, at least to his logic, the universe just love to play with him.

It was unfair for him that day.

No matter how much he dreamed of having a caring family, he knew it won't last.

He knew he'll wake up from that dream eventually.

Even so, he wanted every moment to involve Tom and Maddie from now on. They mean the world to him, he after everything they done for him, he refuse to lose them.

Little did he know, Tom and Maddie looked at Sonic as their own son.

Knowing what he has been through, what else they should do? Part ways? Absolutely not. They wanted to do something special for him, and adding him to the household was one of them. Even if they aren't experts as parents, they'll do what they can to make sure Sonic has a full happy life.

With them. His family.

Sonic will never stop looking at Tom and Maddie as his parents, no matter how much he wished he didn't.

But sometimes, there were moments where his lies spoke louder than the truth.

He also wanted to make a difference. To use his powers to save a city from danger. He thought he can be a hero. He thought he can do it all.

But his father thought otherwise.

Sonic is still just a kid, despite his dreams of becoming a real hero. Tom knew he had to tutor the young hedgehog, remind him that the moment will come one day.

Even if they have to have this talk over, and over, and over again.

Even if Sonic refuse to listen, it won't stop him from looking out for his child.

His child.

He still has some growing up to do, he can't just spend the rest of his childhood putting himself into dire situations! Plus, he kind of destroyed an entire city block.

He put people in danger and that is not what a hero does.

Sonic was tense. He couldn't see it. Barely. But Tom heard the words he fear of hearing.

Even so, that didn't stop him. He has to be there for Sonic, father or not.

And now, ever since that, a lot has happened.

Robotnik came back.

Sonic and his new friend travel across the hinterlands to find a magical gem.

Tom saved him from an avalanche.

G.U.N. took Sonic and Tails away.

Sonic blame himself and said that Tom was right about not being a hero before running off to danger once more.

A giant robot attacked Green Hills.

Sonic gets injured, yet he still goes after the emerald.

Tom and Maddie save him before he got squished.

They were trapped by a ring of fire.

And now. They knew what will happen next.

They're about to die and they were ready for it.

Sonic wanted them to run away. But they stayed.

They're a family.

They held his hands.

They stick together. No matter what.

After everything. After everything they went through together.

After what he said to Tom on the boat.

After what he had feared.

Sonic finally gave in.

His heart had finally accept it.

They really are his mom and dad.

He always known, but he made it official. Even if he couldn't say it.

He wished he would've said it in the first place but none of that mattered any more.

He got what he always wanted.

His wish came true.

His life is complete.

And now he needs to exit that life. Along with his parents. To live with. Forever.

And then the Chaos Emeralds rise up and fused.

The power of Chaos has been fused with the power of love.

The Chaos shall protect his family.

Super Sonic must protect his family.

EVERYTHING happened so fast that not even Sonic can catch up. But is he complaining? Of course not.

His home is safe now. His family is safe, and so are his newfound brothers.

What better way to celebrate the relief of safety than baseball and ice cream?

Sonic has grown throughout all of these adventures so quickly. But it was worth it just to finally be with his family again. He's not afraid anymore. He had accept it, and now he will say it. With his heart.

"I'm happy for you, pal. You got your wingmen! Perfect friends to grow up with."

He may have a super genius fox and an warrior Echidna but right in front of him is the one person who made him who he is today. He wouldn't be here without him. He wouldn't dare to be anywhere without him. He would be surrounded by mushrooms by now if he never went to Tom's garage.

He could've asked for a better friend. But now

No. The whole time. He's more than just a friend.

"I got a lot more than that... Dad."

I really love the Sonic movies and their whole found family dynamic❤️❤️❤️❤️ I've seen some great headcanons about them, and I wanted to make some of my own!

Wachowski Family Headcanons: ✨Movie Night✨

Movie night has always been a tradition at the Wachowski house. Tom and Maddie did it, and once they got Sonic it became an even more special time. Now Sonic is super excited to share all his favorite movies with his two new bros.

They have to buy a new TV since Knuckles punched Sonic through their old one when they first met. The whole family goes to the nearest bigger city since Green Hills is too small to have a good electronics store.

Knuckles has no knowledge or interest in technology so Maddie takes him window shopping at the nearby stores

Tails is so excited when they step into Best Buy. He's never seen this much tech in one place! Tom has to remind him not to take anything apart before they buy it.

Sonic immediately runs off to look at all the new video games

The salesman keeps trying to sell Tom the more expensive and "fancier" TVs. Tails is able to see through all the fancy talk, points out the actual specs, and calculates what will give them the best bang for their buck. Tom has no idea what he's talking about but buys the one Tails points to.

They finally get it home and set up. Knuckles is still confused as to what exactly a "TV" even is. It shows things that aren't really there? Is it like a some sort of window? A portal? Tails's in-depth technological explanation does not help. Sonic finally explains it as a "magic wall mural" and he's relatively satisfied.

Time to pick a movie! Sonic wants to watch "Speed" or one of the "Fast and Furious" movies for the millionth time. Knuckles wants to watch an action movie once he hears there's fighting in them. Tom and Maddie are a little worried those might be too much for Tails. Everyone agrees to watch one of the Disney movies Maddie picked up.

They pick Lilo and Stitch (partly because of the ironic parallels of adopting a funny little blue alien with a fear of water, and just getting back from Hawaii after Rachel's wedding)

Everyone curls up on the couch or on blankets on the floor. Even Ozzie comes to join in the fun. Tails and Sonic use him as a pillow.

Maddie brings in some fresh-popped popcorn (and grapes for Knuckles). Tails is a little skeptical of the new snack, but one bite of the buttery goodness and he's obsessed. He and Sonic keep stuffing handfuls in their mouths and throwing kernels at each other. Soon both the couch and the floor is covered. Knuckles tries a few bites. He says it's okay, but swears it's better with grapes.

All the boys love the movie and think it's hilarious, although some of it goes over Tails's and Knuckles's heads due to their limited understanding of Earth culture.

Sonic finds the scene where Stitch almost drowns a little triggering, although he doesn't say anything.

Knuckles's favorite character is Cobra Bubbles. Sonic's is of course Stitch. Tails relates a worrying amount to Jumba the mad scientist.

Tom and Maddie were prepared for Tails to get scared or emotional over the movie, after all, he's still really young. He ends up being fine and really enjoys it, although he points out all the inaccuracies with the spaceships and technology.

But none of them were expecting Knuckles to start choking up at Stitch's "This is my family. I found it all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good." speech. He denies crying and claims he was only sniffing because he got popcorn butter on his nose.

After the movie, everyone stays cozied up in their blankets for a while talking and eating more popcorn. Tails falls asleep and Tom and Maddie decide it's time for bed. They carry Tails up to the boys' shared room in the attic, but Sonic and Knuckles insist on climbing up themselves even though they're both so sleepy they can barely walk.

Sonic falls asleep the moment he hits the bed. Tom puts Tails in bed, and he and Maddie tuck all the boys in. Knuckles actually allows himself to be tucked in for the first time since they got there. Maddie even gives him a little kiss on the forehead. She swears she hears him mumble something about "Ohana means family" before they go downstairs and no she's not crying why would you ask

Thus marks the end of another wonderful Wachowski Family Movie Night!

Okay so just imagine the Wachowski family out for dinner and they’re all looking at the menu

Maddie (out of the blue): “ooh they have buffalo wings.”

Tom: “yum.”

Meanwhile sonic, tails and knuckles: look up from their menus at their parents absolutely confused af because from what they can recall, buffaloes don’t have wings. Also the thought of it is a bit terrifying

They both notice their sons’ expressions and begin to explain what buffalo wings actually are. Then the trio start a heated debate with their parents as to why they call it that if they don’t have wings and since it’s not even meat from a buffalo to begin with.

I wanted to do something I've seen other people do - make a list of headcanons about the Wachowski brothers in a specific situation! And since my family has spent the last two mornings doing yardwork, that's the situation I'll pick for now.

The movies were the first part of the Sonic franchise that I truly saw, and they're what dragged me with a headlock into the fandom, so they hold a special place in my heart. Also I'm just a sucker for found family tropes, so the Wachowski family dynamic is one of my favorite things ever

Anyway! ON TO THE HEADCANONS!

Wachowski Family and yard work

It's the beginning of summer! The school year is finally over! Except with all the busyness of their relatively new life, Tom & Maddie haven't been able to spend a lot of time keeping their yard in order. Good thing they now have three boys to help them fix it up!

Sonic tries to cut through a mess of weeds by spindashing. While it effectively clears the mess, he goes a little too fast and ends up plowing through a tree. The tree falls over. Tom says no more of that.

Tails attempts pulling vines off of trees, but some of them are caught pretty tightly and he's not strong enough to get them down. Sonic and Knuckles both come running to help him out, but between their competitive minds and brute strength, they end up breaking it halfway and leaving a good chunk of it still in the tree. Tails gets a clipper from Maddie and flies up to chop it down.

An old tree is leaning over the house and Tom doesn't like how it looks like it could fall and smash the house at any time. (They've had to repair their house twice within a year and aren't keen on doing it again) He chops it down with the help of Knuckles. Tom cuts up the trunk into smaller pieces to take to a pile for firewood. Sonic and Knuckles both aim to carry the biggest and heaviest branches to show off to their dad how strong they are.

Maddie tells them to cut it out when Sonic loses his balance under a particularly heavy branch, stumbles around while trying to stay standing, and accidentally swings the branch right into Tails. (He's ok tho, Maddie checked him over.)

At some point they realize Tails is missing. Sonic finds him in the garage trying to enhance a chainsaw to be more durable and thus more able to cut through an entire tree trunk without risking getting stuck. Long story short, both Tom & Maddie said no and Tails isn't allowed to touch the chainsaw anymore.

The boys stumble upon poison ivy. Thank goodness all three of them wear gloves on a regular basis.

Maddie still checks them over, though, and Tom goes to spray chemicals on the poison ivy. Dodged a bullet there.

They've finally finished! Everyone heads inside, and Maddie checks them for ticks.

Once they're sure everyone's clear, they head out for ice cream! They deserve it. :)

sonic is the ulitmate photobomber, there has been millions of photos across the planet with blue streak behind them and there no way to plan for it, he is fast enough to pose for the picture and be gone before you even turn around, there a ton of then

Remember that Sonic X episode where Sam challenged him to a race and it appeared to be a tie so they checked the slowed recording frame by frame? Yeah, he does stuff like that on the regular. This is what happens when a silly teenager who loves having fun is given super speed

He'll infiltrate Eggman's base and make faces at every security camera while running past them. They're a little secret 'gift' if Eggman or Metal ever reviews any footage

He'll be like a little cryptid ghost urban legend in places where he never frequents but shows up in the group photos of teams like them unsolved mystery pics where a person who's supposed to be dead is in picture taken after their death kinda deal but like, more cool than scary.

What is Sonic the hedgehog doing at our wedding? Why is he amongst the graduates? Etc. Most of the people don't mind getting photo bombed by Sonic, they are instead excited.

The people who'd actually be most annoyed are his closest friends because his bombs in such pictures are so hilarious and half the time his expressions are those of a little menace enjoying causing them misery. (He's reclining over the Master Emerald in the picture Knuckles had asked Tails to be taken for commemoration and record. He's grinning evilly from behind with mints in hand as Tails captured some images for his video's thumbnails. He's blowing a raspberry at Abraham Tower in the official picture of Team Dark receiving some award. He's playing dead in the background of his friends' selfies, he's moonwalking on Tails' live stream and disappears before Tails reaches the lounge, he teams up with Charmy to ruin Espio's timer photos of cool ninja poses, he shows up in one of the images of Amy's picnic with half the deserts gone and stuffed mouth while giving a deer in headlights look at the camera, she turns around after checking the photo and nothing is there but half the deserts are gone. )

Common Sonic headcannons I love...

I love the one of Gerald basing Shadow on the mural prophecy from the echidna. It really gives a backstory to why he looks like Sonic in the first place, other than being a "coincidence".

For the movies, it's the whole found family thing (although it's cannon) So, I guess the one where the Wachowskis are somehow involved in the Ark incident from 50 years ago. It makes it all the more interesting, imo.
