hi!! i can't seem to find your radfems in Ohio post, but we're trying to find other locals lol. anybody in Dayton?
If you can't find any here, you should definitely get to one of the women's fests in the midwest. There's also a discord and this post.
Reblog to help her find Ohio and Dayton connections

thinking about witchcraft & how much I despise "the divine feminine" & how unwelcoming many pagan spaces can be to gnc women... @vvitchscvm-deactivated20230666 thought ab your post ab lesbian witchcraft today while considering how to navigate the ways I want to practice when "the divine feminine" has no place in my life or home...

this is absolutely a fresh take and I want to talk about it more
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so I wanna talk about this comment by @vvitchscvm. idk which post it was from, this is just a screenshot, do you know the post?
-> male violence being inherent does not mean men could not evolve
this is so fresh to me because it made me realize the nature vs. nurture argument has evolved to mean "cannot change (nature) vs. can learn (nurture)"
So the question becomes:
if something is natural to a human being does that mean they can't learn/change/evolve beyond it?
-> male violence being socialized posits men as intentional sadists, which is more dangerous than pure aggressive instinct and means women are even less safe.
this also startled me, because it means that patriarchy socializes men to be intentional sadists, which is worse than if men were just more naturally likely to be aggressive and impulsive
I also agree with this. Patriarchy DOES socialize men to be intentional sadists, and that's why they're so dangerous to us.
but do you agree with this? do you any further thoughts on this?
So gyns, I would love your input and thoughts on this, please reply or rebog

idk if you know her but i need to rant. that vvitchscvm-deactivated20230666 girlie has gone absolutely insane. she thinks that comphet is a legitimate thing AND she sees intersex males who were socialized as females as genuine women, disgusting!
idk who she is. I’m guessing she’s not a lesbian though. Actual lesbians agree that comphet is a fakebian term. First of all the creator of the term, Adrienne Rich is a political lesbian. Second, comphet came back into mainstream use bc of that stupid fing masterdoc. The masterdoc which is really a bisexual guide.
Intersex males are intersex males. Idk my opinions on them but they lack all female reproductive organs. Have a false vag… That sounds like they didn’t complete their male development. They’re not women period. Just feminine looking males.

what do you think?
I would need more research before I believe much about the origins of the female homosexuality, also I don't care to find the root cause of why people are homosexual because I think it should remain a magical unexplainable thing, it isn't a disability or disease, finding a direct origin will lead to people looking for "cures." and developing tests for gay people which may affect gay life in a dystopian way. Imagine of Chechnya or Saudi Arabia had a full proof test to find out someone's sexuality. HOWEVER, I do not think our GNC traits are incidental, I think there is a reason gay women have similar traits even without our diversity. It is interesting, but I hope it remains fascinating pseudo science or theories.

@vvitchscvm because the post is getting too long:
Stop making shit up about random dead gay trans men. I did a little research on Google and I found that you pulled that out of your ass. LS is a community icon, and is largely responsible for our (gay trans men's) current rights.
The leftism leaving everyone's body as soon as a trans man is gay.

Not the same anon but yeah, vvitchscvm is… interesting. She is a huge terfy radfem and also thinks psychiatry is a scam and is harmful to (cis)women because it “drugs them and alters their brains”. I’m not trans myself, but her posts about trans people and psychiatry are very jarring.
Yeah, I saw that. Like oh hoo boy red flags all over.

sorry to bring back the spirituality discourse when it seems to start to dry out, but i was not sure whom to ask about this.
my question is concerning the definition of the word 'spirituality'. Throughout the discussion here i saw people defining spirituality differently and in a way that confused me. Im a psychology undegrad, so my understanding comes in majorly from this field. Spirituality is usually defined as 'a concern for or sensitivity to things of the spirit or soul, especially as opposed to materialistic concerns' – that's the first definition APA gives. I usually use this or a few other definitions from dictionaries when think about spirituality. But on here i saw people calling cognitive processes and/or emotions like curiosity, wonder, mindfulness, intelligence, awareness, connection, integrity, culture etc. as spirituality. It honestly made it harder to engage with the discussion in any meaningful way since i wasn't sure if every mention of spirituality ment the same thing or not.
I am confused as to why do we need to rebrand any human experience that does not have an immediate and visible material form as spirituality. Im not sure such a plurality of definitions aids the discussion in any positive way. I wonder if there are examples of feminist definitions of spirituality in feminist academic literature( and if so, maybe you could give me some directions to what to look up).
as a side note, i'm sorry to hear that people harassed you for your position during the discussions. It definitely went over the top. I don't consider myself spiritual, but I can see the point you were making and the nuances that might be in this topic.
like I said (many times - i made a #witchcraft discourse tag if you are interested!), I don't consider myself spiritual. personally have never loved the word (idk why, it's just kind of an ick for me tbh). so i don't think I'm the person to ask this, sorry. @vvitchscvm-deactivated20230666 might be better suited to it? idk.

I read a paper that @vvitchscvm-deactivated20230666 sent me on the “Guardian” path/role from Dianic Wicca, and it was so interesting. I’m not a butch lesbian myself by any means, but it was crazy how much I could instantly relate to the reasons for the guardian developing…even just as a gnc bi woman, I’ve also constantly felt this tug at my gut, this feeling that even in goddess-centric spiritualities/groups, “femininity” was assumed to be the the more spiritual, and therefore better or more natural quality. There was never really any room for gnc women, it always felt like I had to choose between being more “spiritual” or being myself. It feels good to finally read of other women like me who have felt that as well.
And then, I also saw good points being made in the counter arguments as well. I’m always wary of people spouting the “butch/femmes are just recreating patriarchy” line of thinking, but I can see in the context of how the role was being cemented in the rituals how limiting it could feel. “You’re X so you do this role with limited function while other women do this role with limited functions”. To my understanding, movements like Dianic Wicca and Filianism sought to counter the masculine/feminine assumed dichotomy in a lot of new age movements like Wicca and Neo-paganism at the time. Instead, they present the idea that all “roles”/enegies/spiritual capabilities are found in the Goddess, and by extension, women. And that’s what initially drew me to Filianism/Deanism.
I’ve had a lot of ideas brewing for a while now about goddesses with more “masculine” traits, and how gnc women deserve to see themselves in the divine too, without having to water down our own existence to fit the more mainstream mould. This has given me a lot to ponder, though, before I jump to a solution.
Overall, I love the line of thinking I’m seeing in some of you all now along the lines that there’s often something gnc to be found in all of us who walk the witchy path. Also, I wanna write up a whole post about my thoughts and feelings on this idea of “The Honred Goddess/Woman”—but I’ll be doing more research and need more time to write it up. I’ll be tagging my ramblings on all this with that though!
