Aand done with Attack 3! This species does this thing where they roll into a ball and bite their tail in defense. I thought it would be a fun challenge to pose that. =]
I really like how squishy the mouth ended up looking with some subsurface scattering treatment. ^^

Hey if someone has any info of how to get adobe substance painter for free without being a student and won't cause any fucken viruses, DON'T comment anything public, just message me privately with whatever sources you have. Because I hate Blender and I only really know how to use substance painter from when I had the free trial. And I would like to go back to making myself some vrchat avatars (I found a few free bases I want to test out).
I don't want to give adobe money, nor do I have any money to give.

emma webster -- "idyllic" (2019)
"sometimes i feel like i’m just banging on the glass screaming like a little kid" ... emma webster
"emma webster is not a landscape painter but a painter of landscapes" ... emily mcdermott
"i’m not interested in VR as an end, but as a means of explorative sculpture. my sketches are composed from a collage of inspirations: set design, landscape painting, travel photography, fantasy, and the other worldliness of screen-space. VR becomes the place where i can fuse these unlike things into one solid thought" ... emma webster
"[webster's paintings are] windows onto a high-key, ultra-verdant world—a sublime, supernatural realm that combines the thaumaturgic light of the hudson river school with the watchful marshes and sinuous undergrowth in disney’s 'maleficent.' it’s an imaginative approach to the centuries-old genre of landscape" ... johanna fateman
"there’s a built-in sadness [to] trying to capture wildlife, when these places are changing and disappearing. we pigeonhole landscape painting as pleasant and boring, but there is nothing pleasant about a climate in crisis" ... emma webster
"sometimes i feel like i'm just tapping on the keyboard whispering like an ancient enheduanna" ... al janik

I got a new body in VR, and it makes me feel so relaxed and at home! Zurg species and avatar base is by @tokyozilla and they currently sell it on Gumroad: https://tokyozilla.gumroad.com/ I did my own recolor using Neo's premade layers and added some markings in Substance Painter.

Perfect Digital Art Strategy for 2024 and Beyond: Embracing AI and Pushing Boundaries
The digital art landscape is poised for an even more explosive evolution in 2024 and beyond. To navigate this exciting world and carve your own niche, here's a blueprint for a perfect digital art strategy:
1. Embrace AI as a Collaborative Force:
AI Art Tools: Don't fear AI, embrace it as a collaborator. Experiment with tools like Midjourney, Dall-E 2, Artbreeder, NightCafe Creator to generate initial concepts, explore new styles, and break creative block.
Refine the Output: Use your artistic skills to guide and refine the AI's suggestions, adding your unique touch and vision to create truly original artwork.
Human-AI Fusion: Blend traditional techniques like painting or 3D modeling with AI-generated elements to create hybrid masterpieces that transcend limitations.
2. Push the Boundaries of Creativity:
Explore Emerging Technologies: Dive into cutting-edge avenues like VR/AR painting, interactive installations, and generative NFT art to stay ahead of the curve.
Experiment and Diversify: Don't stick to one style. Keep experimenting with different mediums, techniques, and genres to unlock your artistic potential and surprise your audience.
Challenge Conventions: Use your art to provoke thought, question norms, and inspire conversation on social and environmental issues.
3. Build a Strong Online Presence:
Showcase Your Work: Utilize platforms like ArtStation, Instagram, Behance, and NFT marketplaces to reach a wider audience and connect with collectors.
Engage with the Community: Actively participate in online forums, discussions, and events to network with other artists, learn from each other, and build a loyal following.
Leverage Social Media Tools: Utilize social media analytics and marketing strategies to promote your work effectively and reach your target audience.
4. Monetize Your Passion:
Explore NFT Opportunities: Explore the vibrant world of NFTs to sell your digital artwork and create new income streams.
Offer Commissions and Collaborations: Partner with brands, influencers, or other artists for commissioned work and creative collaborations.
Create Online Courses and Tutorials: Share your knowledge and expertise by teaching online courses or workshops on digital art and AI tools.
AI Tools Recommendations (ideas):
Concept Generation: Midjourney, Dall-E 2, Dream by WOMBO, NightCafe Creator.
Image Editing and Upscaling: Photoshop, Gigapixel AI, Topaz Labs tools.
3D Modeling and Animation: Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, Adobe Substance 3D Painter.
VR/AR Creation: Tilt Brush, Quill VR, Gravity Sketch.
Interactive Art and Generative NFTs: Art Blocks, fxhash, Crypto.Art, Async Art.
Remember: This is just a framework, adapt it to your unique artistic vision and goals.
The key is to embrace innovation, push boundaries, and stay constantly curious. Your art, infused with your own voice and fueled by AI's potential, will shine in the vibrant future of digital art.

Ernest Edmonds, Nineteen, (1968-69)
Richard Bright: You use the term ‘computational art’ or ‘software art’, distinguishing it from ‘digital’ or ‘new media art’, when discussing you own art practice. Can you say more about this and how you began creating ‘computational art’?' Ernest Edmonds: ‘Computational’, or ‘software’, art is bound up with the use of computer programming as a core medium. Such art involves writing and manipulating code as an essential element, just as a painter might manipulate oil paint. ‘Computational’ might be a better word to use than ‘software’ because the key point is the conceptual use of programming. The physical use of a computer and the actual running of code isn’t the point (valuable as it is). It is the exploration of the concept of computation that is central, and this can be done by hand. Kenneth Martin’s work, for example, can in part be understood in this context. The more general terms ‘digital’ and ‘new media’ art need not refer to the direct use of computation as a medium. For example, manipulating photographs with Photoshop or constructing a VR world would be digital but need not involve any direct involvement with code.

#1 and 9 for your ask game!
1. Art programs you have but don't use
ougggh I've got a couple. Shapelab for VR 3d sculpting...... uhhhh... Sai (licensed) and Corel Painter (pirated), technically. (have the files laying around in a dropbox folder SOMEWHERE. I've used a lot of different programs over the years but always only gravitate towards 2 or 3 favs!
9. What are your file name conventions
it used to be just keysmash but now I do so much work I am FORCED to be slightly organized. I try to make the name something I'll remember - however sometimes that name is just 'awoo' or 'headpats' LMAO

Broken Girl News

Things you might want to know, for Feb 17, 2023:
‘Irreversible’: One of the Most Controversial Movies Ever Is Back — …in case you want to become uncomfortably aroused in a dark room full of strangers.
A Well-Turned Curse Can Remind You of the Power of Language — Fucking A.
Why the Myth of the Library of Alexandria Is Wrong — Pretty much the same reason every other great story is less great in fact… reality is boring and complicated.
Willis Family Statement | AFTD — I was a giant Moonlighting fan when I was a kid, so when Bruce Willis broke out in Die Hard, I remember inwardly cheering at his success… this goofy, fast-talking actor was going to be an action star! Seeing how things have gone over the last ten years is as sad as that time was hopeful. I’m glad he has the family and money to make things as comfortable as possible, but… fuck. Just… fuck.
Watching this artist drag an easel into Half-Life: Alyx makes me want to be a VR painter too — Every time I see an Alyx mod or something, I want to re-enter that world… ‘cause it’s a fun place to visit. And then I think about setting up the lighthouses, and the cables, and the hulking beast of a PC I need to run it… and I go back to Mario Kart.
I Returned to 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons'—And You Should Too — …and speaking of returning to Nintendo…

Next Artfight piece! The moment I saw this design, I knew I had to do something with it. Such a fun shape and cohesive color pallet! Had a lot of fun posing this in VR. Unfortunately the pose made it tricky to find the best shot as a main image, so here's more bonus shots! XD

This avatar was created as my own persona for use mostly in VRChat. The theme was a digital artist with some light retro future elements.
I wanted to make full use of the, recently added at the time, components like physbones so I went all in on the dynamics with the hair, straps, and id badge.
Created in Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Unity.

If THG's characters are living in modern world (now), what do you feel would be their profession?
Also, what would they study in university?
PS : For Peeta (baker or painter) and Mrs Everdeen (nurse or doctor), could you list another profession beside those please?
You can include as many characters as you can or want.
Thank you so much 😀
@curiousnonny
Caesar grew up in Washington, D.C. with the deep desire to move to New York City one day. He did, his family barely affording him university, and studied a media-subject with theatre and drama elements. During and after his studies, he did stand-up for a while until he got a writing job at a late night show and later himself being discovered and inheriting the late night show job (possibly having been a sidekick addition in those shows).
Plutarch also grew up in Washington, D.C. (I like that as a "modern" Capitol place for obvious reasons). He knew Caesar from an early age onward and abandoned his plans to go to Harvard so he could study together with Caesar. I've got different ideas for him here: A) He studied history + politics and got a job at his dad's company where he did political advising for politicians in D.C. B) @beedelia thought of him doing an engineering degree, come up with his own company and do some VR technology, more hardware than software, so technology can be used for many things.
Cressida is always closely tied to Caesar, meaning she studied in a creative film area, did an internship at his late night show, and went on to become an independent film maker. Caesar keeps close contact with her and he probably has done some cameos to also help the movies gain traction.
Cinna studied fashion and became a fashion designer later on in life. He will never be on the level of beloved and well known as some high end brands, but he is the kind of secret tip if you are interested in cool and sustainable outfits to wear.
Virgilia's verse varies, but she usually comes from a tight knit community. Verse A) Virgilia comes from a very conservative Christian home and goes on to study theology in New York City, but later switches to human rights and law studies. Verse B) She is a former cult member who becomes an advocate against cults and various religious sects.
