Students are now required  to choose their preferred senior high strands upon their entrance and to begin studying the subjects that are going to introduce them to the career path that they want to pursue.
I know some of you guys are still confused about which track or which particular strand you wish to take in your senior high school year. WHY SHOULD INCOMING SHS STUDENTS CHOOSE YOUR TRACK?
Every Senior High School student should make a decision between Academic, Technical Vocational Livelihood, Sports, and Arts & Design. Academic track has three strands: ABM, HUMSS, and STEM.
We should always select the route that we want since it is crucial for us SHS students to get more information and to be able to pursue our chosen course before graduating from SHS. And from these tracks, we can learn how to manage our time and what we want in the future; from these tracks, we can have a business as a student, as well as a part-time job, and we can learn more about what we can learn from these tracks.
We have three strands from which to chose. It is not a game or a joke to choose your strand; you must think thoroughly so that you do not blame yourself in the end. Choosing your strand will aid you in your college career, so consider your options carefully.
TECHNICAL-VOCATIONAL-LIVELIHOOD TRACK

2. You must have a clear image of your personality in order to select a track that corresponds to your preferences and experience. According to John Holland, there are six major personalities, and each one has a compatible job path.
Realistic people are doers who enjoy hands-on labor such as mechanics and carpentry. They will find the TVL course to be the most relevant to them.
Investigative persons are intellectuals who succeed in theory-heavy fields such as law and medicine. Based on their personality, they choose the STEM strand of the Academic route. Artists utilize their imagination to create, therefore they fit right in with the Arts and Design course.
Other artists who enjoy performing, on the other hand, are a good fit for the senior high athletics track. Social ones are people-pleasers who enjoy working with others. They are well-suited to vocations such as coaching, teaching, and counseling, thus the GAS or HUMMS strands of the Academic track are the ideal options for them.
Enterprising people are risk-takers who strive to influence others. They are ideal for politicians and business owners. As a result, they should pursue the Academic route and concentrate on the ABM strand.Conventional types are orderly people who take pleasure in maintaining structure and order. Accountants, programmers, and editors are ideal employment for this type. Thus, the Academic and TVL track, which is part of the ICT strand, corresponds to their character.

Deokhye Academy Admissions
Admission to Deokhye Academy for non-Legacy students is only open from seventh grade to twelfth grade. Parents with a legacy student are urged to have students apply during their elementary age to become familiar with the school campus as well as their peers and staff members.

Financial Aid
The total amount of fees comes to ₩95,188,118 with tuition needing to be paid on an annual basis. There are many ways that students can support themselves. A financial aid package is made up of a combination of scholarship funds, bank loans, awards, and possible student employment.
After a student passes the entrance exam, there is a two-week period for students to apply for scholarships. There is no application fee. Senior high school is a secondary school that students attend in the three or four highest grades before college. A high school where someone is a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades is an example of a senior high school. In the Philippines Senior High School (SHS) covers the last two years of the K to 12 program and includes Grades 11 and 12. In SHS, students will go through a core curriculum and subjects under a track of their choice. Now let us know some tracks that you can take in senior high.
The first one is Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track is one of the tracks offered in Senior High School. It focuses on technical skills development in any area. It can be used as their credentials in applying for a job if he/ she wants to work after Senior High School (SHS) graduation. Under the senior high school tech-voc track are the following strands. •Agri-Fishery Arts •Home Economics •Industrial Arts •Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Second, Sports Track aims to give you understanding of the basic principles and techniques in relation to physical education and recreation. It will also offer you discuss various factors that affect social, psychological, and cognitive development in sports leadership and management. Third, Arts and Design Track intends to provide students with knowledge of the different arts and design forms, materials, media, and production in the creative industries. When it comes to visual arts, it is other than painting. There is printmaking, architecture, interior designing, photography, and film production. And last is Academic Track defines a set of possible course selections available to a specific group of students. They are analogous to the colored course selection sheets common in a paper-based course selection process. Define an academic track and courses that students can or must complete when assigned to that track. And under this track are four strands namely Accountancy Business and Management (ABM), General Academic Strand (GAS), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strands. Each strand has its own specializations and set of challenges. For ABM strand is designed to train students in the basic concepts of business management, financial management, and corporate operations. GAS is the most flexible strand among the four strands offered in the Academic Track because students get to learn and experience something from all the other strands. GAS is essentially for students who are undecided on which strand to take. HUMSS is for learners who aim to take up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social science-related courses in college. And last STEM is an educational program developed to prepare primary and secondary students for college and graduate study in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In addition to subject-specific learning, STEM aims to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning, and collaboration skills.
Today, one of the most important requirements for college admissions is completing senior high. So if you are planning on studying a four- or five-year degree program at the college of your dreams, finishing senior high school is a must. In addition, finishing senior high school also allows students to study general education subjects that they would not have otherwise studied until their first or second year in college. This gives the students more time to familiarize themselves with the specialization that they have chosen if they eventually decide to pursue higher education. In choosing the right strand is not just about making new friends and discovering new things related to a subject (like learning to make ice cream in chemistry). NEW BEDFORD — Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School has introduced marine technology as a new program this year.
Since the program is in its first year, it is only offered to freshmen at this time as part of their exploratory studies.
From now until January, students will start to gain a better understanding of the marine fisheries industry, which employs so many people on Southcoast.
Michael McConnell, marine technology teacher and curriculum leader for the program, has been leading the freshmen through their exploratory studies in hopes of gaining 15 students interested in the trade by January in order to continue the course for the following years. It would include a total of 48 students spanning across all four high school grades. He said the students in this trade will be well-versed in service and work on internal combustive engine.
During the fall, freshmen are expected to create two model skiffs: one out of paper and tape, the other with more advanced materials such as fiberglass and resin. The school has provided the supplies to students who attend class in person as well as those learning from home. During their three days in shop, students practice techniques in wet sanding, buffing, waxing and polishing on four mid-sized motorboats. On the mechanical side, their curriculum consists of understanding how engines and carburetors operate.
McConnell said that freshmen students will be introduced to engines right off the bat. From there, they will learn about boat building and construction along with material. As they approach their final years in the program, juniors will learn advanced engine building along with electronics and diagnostics repair.
Students will understand how to work on large vessels and interpret their heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and propane systems. Besides the mechanical operations of a boat, students will also learn about navigating boats and how they can apply that knowledge to the field, such as understanding the laws of the waterways and towing a boat adrift out at sea.
“This has been a long-awaited program,” McConnell said. “There is so much industry in the area,” he said. “It’s great to give back to the industry that has employed the community.” According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, New Bedford has been listed as the most valuable post in the country for 19 years.
McConnell said that employers looking to recruit students from the program at GNBVT are local marinas and boat facilities, as there is a high demand for mechanists. He said the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association has predicted 3,000 job openings in the New Bedford area over the next few years, which would be beneficial for all graduating students.
McConnell has a long history in the marine technology industry. His uncle owns a jet ski shop in Dartmouth and he said he has always been interested in the industry for as long as he can remember. He said his main hobby and specialty in the field is diagnostics motors.
The marine technology program was funded primarily by grants and most equipment was donated. “We are very fortunate to not have to spend a lot of money,” McConnell said. Motors, one of the most costly and vital pieces of the boat, were donated so students could practice their skills.
Steve Walker is an outreach coordinator for Voc-Tech and agreed to oversee the start of the marine technology and aviation programs. “We will prepare the students to continue their education and prepare them to pursue the trade,” he said.
Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical Institute, the part of the high school that holds night classes, offers a post-secondary marine technology course which began last fall. According to the online school bulletin, students earned their boating and safety course credentials and adapted the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) curriculum. GNBVTI obtained Chapter 74 approval by the Department of Secondary Education (DESE) to hold both the day program for high school students and graduates.
“We are ecstatic as a school to answer the call of the businesses leaders of the community and local businesses of Buzzards Bay by providing an educated workforce both by our day program and our night technical institute,” Superintendent-Director James O’Brien said.

NEW DELHI: Following the suit of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Madhya Pradesh board has also released new timetable for examination of remaining subjects of Class 12.
As per the new timetable, the examination will begin from June 9 and conclude on June 15. The exams will be conducted in two shifts and the board has also given a set of guidelines to be followed for conducting the examination, Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh, divisional officer Deven Sonwani told TOI.
The MP Board of Secondary Education released the new timetable for the board exams of class 12 that were postponed in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The remaining board exams will take place from June 9 to June 15 in two shifts to avoid overcrowding at the exam centres.

PRO MPBSE S K Chourasiya said, “The students can download the new timetable from the MP board website. Added precautions will be taken to ensure students don’t fall ill. Parents have been advised to ensure that their child is fit and is not having fever, flu, cough etc. The board has also given strict instructions to maintain social distancing and usage of masks by students compulsory while taking the exam.”
The exams will be held in 2 shifts from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm so that the there is no overcrowding at centres and to ensure that fewer students are seated in a room. The exams will begin with Higher Mathematics and Geography on June 9, and conclude with Chemistry and Element of Science exam and History of Art exam on June 16.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Feb. 8 (PIA) -- With creativity and a bit of innovative tweaking, the Department of Education’s (DepED) Tagbilaran City Schools Division was able to do what most have failed: bringing the students back to the farms.
“It may not be as big yet, but of the 73 graduates in the strand last year, about 30 of them proceeded to take agriculture courses at the Bohol Island State University in Bilar or at the Leyte State University in Leyte,” said Manga National High School (MNHS) Master Teacher I Pablita Cabarles during the recent Kapihan sa PIA.
MNHS is the City Division’s pilot area for its Senior High School Agriculture and Fisheries strand billed as Eskwela Turo Agricultura (ETA).  
While concerns have been raised over the dwindling number of young people choosing to go into farming, DepEd saw this as an opportunity and integrated agriculture and fisheries in its technology and livelihood education for Grades 4 to 6.
But even then, Education Supervisor Joseph Barrete of the Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS) found that the elementary curriculum is not contextualized and localized to the needs of Bohol.
Barrete coordinates the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) and Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) for the City Division.
He said Tagbilaran City, for example, has nine barangays and the curriculum does not even talk about fisheries, only agriculture.
Speaking during the weekly Kapihan Sa PIA over DyTR, Barrete said they gathered all TLE, EPP, and TVET instructors and with government agencies concerned and reviewed the DepED curriculum.
Finding the anomaly, they integrated contextual and local needs for the kids to find the curriculum relevant to their communities, based also on relevant department orders.
"We need to make a program that allows continuity of the city division redesigned program and put in the course equivalent to a national certification II for crop production leading to organic agriculture in the agri-fisheries strand in the senior high school," he added.
With barely enough space to pilot-run an agri-fisheries course in Tagbilaran, the City Division worked on a classic urban example of farming in a limited space in MNHS. 
MNHS is the logical choice: it is also a school beneficiary of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and is getting training from the government agency.
Perched on the hillsides of ElleyHill, MNHS sits on a rocky outcrop with hardly a flat farm surface, but the fruit of the agriculture curriculum is evident, said Cabarles.
Cabarles, who coordinates for the agriculture strand, also said the DA-ATI helped a lot as the technologies they test at MNHS all proved useful. 
"We partnered with ATI and even cascaded to all city schools the redesigned curriculum, which was also validated by school supervisors in the country," Barrete said. 
"Right now, we tend to benefit from the DA ATI partnership as the school has slowly become an agriculture and fisheries learning area," shared Cabarles, who added that they are now opening a bigger tilapiahan in the school complex.
"We used to have urban gardening integrated in our school in a garden and we tweaked it again to edible landscaping and put in edibles, ornamentals and herbs in the landscaping design in all city schools. The results were again novel," Barrete said.
That was when the Eskwela Turo Agricultura (ETA) was started, the packaged special course for senior high taking up the agriculture strand, the farmer teacher added. 
Children who see how the tilapia in the school pond have grown are asking their parents to provide areas in their home lots where they can plant or culture fish.
Now that MNHS is leading the way and other city district schools are following, there is but just one more thing to do: bring the curriculum outside the city division.
For Barrete, who is now monickered “Father of Eskwela Turo Agricultura," the task may be daunting.
But with his commitment, passion and the dire need to help supply food, he is taking on the mission one division at a time. (RAHC/PIA7-Bohol)

STOP THE STRAND DISCRIMINATION
This senior high (grade 11), I thought my new school was great. Well its actually great but.... the majority students here are not-so-great people(not generalizing everyone here). I thought that I would see mature people yet all I ever see was people who are not commited in their studies. Yet why did I put the title there here's why.. What is strand discrimination? - unjust treatment of the students because of their specialized track when in reality every strand has its equal and unique studies. Here in my country there are different kinds of strands: ©TRIVIA AND FACTS AND EDUKASYON PH© --- Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Strand °specialzes in bussiness and acounting.  is for those who plan on taking up Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy and Marketing in college. Those who are planning to take up HRM should choose this too. Humanities and Social Sciences Strand (HUMSS) °is for students who are eyeing Writing (particularly, novelists), Political Science, Sociology, Priesthood, Law and Community Studies. If you have a talent in public speaking, this strand is for you. General Academic Strand (GAS) °If you’re not yet sure what course to take in college, this strand is the same as you. It teaches Social Science, Humanities, Economics, Management and Disaster Readiness. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) °is the perfect track to choose if you are planning to study Pure and Applied Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics in college. You will be studying Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Calculus in this strand. This is not for the faint-hearted. Arts and Design Track.(AD) °This track is for those who are interested in pursuing careers on the performative and creative field. Get to discover your capabilities and stretch what you can do in industries of music, theatre, visual arts, media arts, and dance. You can gain various skills such as song composing, stage performing, illustrating, sculpting, photography, or choreography under this track. Arts and Design also aims not only to ensure that you can get a livelihood out of your interest in arts and design but also to help various regions in the country in preserving their local culture. Sports °This is not all about dance and just playing sports. Physical Education includes an understanding of human movements through anatomy and physiology. Part of the curriculum in the Sports Track is Safety and First Aid. This is to ensure that you have the life skills and competencies in safety, injury prevention and management in various sports and exercise settings for prompt and proper response during emergencies. Part of the career track in here is for you to learn the right ways in administering tests and programs for physical fitness and performance enhancement. Technical-Vocational Livelihood Track (Tech-Voc) °The Tech-Voc track is divided into four strands. This caters to those who want to work immediately after Senior High School a. Home Economics Stand This is our classic idea of the TLE subject. Those who are interested in housekeeping, tailoring, caregiving, food and beverage services, bread and pastry services, tourism and handicrafts should choose this. Take note though that this isn’t the correct strand for those who are planning to take Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) in college. Most students who choose this have plans to work in the aforementioned areas immediately after Senior High School. b. Information and Communication Technology Strand Interested in computers? The ICT Strand is the perfect choice. You’ll be taught how to write computer programs, websites and possibly apps. This includes Medical Transcription and Computer Animation. After taking this strand, you can then proceed to BSIT in college. You can also work immediately as a computer programmer, animator or medical transcriptionist but make sure you’ve already learned enough. c. Agri-Fisheries Strand This strand is for those who are interested in agriculture and aquaculture. Horticulture, Pest Management, Animal Production, Slaughtering and Fish Production are all tackled here. Graduates from this strand might be able to work in farms immediately but they can also proceed to related courses in college. d. Industrial Arts Strand The last strand under the Tech-Voc track is our classical idea of what tech-voc is – Carpentry, Automotive Servicing, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Electronics Repair, Electrical Installation, Welding (SMAW), Plumbing and Tile Setting. --- As you all read each track specialized certain fields respectively. The treatment though is different and not a good one. I tell you my story. I'm F, 17 years old choosing a track for my future. At first, I do not know which track should I choose cuz you know there's still college. I think first the pros and cons. Pro because it would be convenient especially if I would still choose that related career from my specialized track. Con because it is very expensive though education nowadays is all about money. I choose Arts and Design Track. Well, my parents was kinda dissappointed when I told them the track I chose because out of all things why that track. My father voiced out that 'it would lead you to know where.'I admit it I cried after my father leftvyou know why? That is my DREAM. I WANTED AND NEEDED that track because I may find there who I am. Now I do not regret it because not only that I found myself when I choose Arts and Design but I now have people who I consider as my family (my classmates). We considered ourselves as a family as if we are brothers and sisters. This is the first time in my school years that I have experience to having a united fam.Everyone in my class is equal. There is no fake personalities only we show our true colors to each other. Always having a good time spreading good vibes even if you are stress af. Yet there's a catch... Being united family there are still conflicts not in my class but in the other strands. When you thought everything is good. Someone will kill the joy. I do not when did the conflict/discrimination began.. Maybe is it because some of my subject teachers praised me and my classmates for the good behavoir yet noisy in a good way. Most of me and my classmates are mature becuz we do not want bashing and bullying people because we have conscience. Others maybe are jealous because me and my classmates are one but the are divided. Maybe its a mystery.. Most of my classmates heard the rumours/talks about our class.. Some people asked my classmates why they choose the track and they told my classmates 'You chose it because you suck at MATH and it is very easy track' Another asked and told that "why are you guys participating in specch choir competition, shouldn't you guys be in the decorations?" Really?! Just because we are Arts and Design doesn't mean you should treat us as if we are nothing to you. You treated as if you guys are suprior and ours are minority. When in reality, like life, NOTHING IS EASY. You sould treat us as equals because we are students our OBEJTIVE here is to learn and achieve our dream not having some competion and also tension that would tear us all apart. I hope that whatever problems you all have, you will find solutions for it. ~We have to be united branch not a divided branch!~

  All of us know that the calibre of talent distinguishes great from good, winners from losers and adaptation from extinction. Having the right team playing on the field is the fundamental difference between victory and defeat.  Indra Nooyi, chairwoman and former CEO of PepsiCo.  
It’s been nearly two decades since Steven Hankin of McKinsey Group coined the term ‘war on talent’ to highlight the need for HR practitioners to identify, protect, nourish and develop key staff in order to safeguard future competiveness and prosperity in origanisations. Talent is not a soft skill anymore: it has a positive and quantifiable connection to a company’s financial performance, an economy’s sustainable growth and a nation’s socioeconomic development as well.
No plan for future can be complete without meticulous strategies to build the human resources that are going to be the movers and shakers of tomorrow. And no country can restructure its economy and chart out its future course of action without reconstructing its talent management models. If talent is instrumental in igniting growth and driving innovation, its scarcity constitutes the single biggest obstacle to achieving those goals. Therefore, the disparity between what a nation requires from its people and the skills as well as capabilities that its potential workforces are equipped with, should be the last thing it could tolerate.

HR specialists and industry experts OER spoke to for this report are of the opinion that with economic diversification aimed at reducing the dependence on hydrocarbon resources high on agenda, the Sultanate requires highly talented and extremely competent national workforces catering to the requirements of the emerging industries. They observe that at this crucial juncture when the government has identified certain key sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, tourism, fisheries and mining to diversify the economy away from oil and gas, one of the key challenges facing Oman is the lack of skills to propel these industries and make them up and running.
Mohammed Masaud Al Kharusi, chairman of Intersearch ME, Oman and an industry veteran, stresses the importance of better planning to ensure that Oman produces the right cadre of people with requisite skills to meet the country’s vision being developed. He hits the nail on the head saying, “There is a mismatch of skills of Omanis entering the job market and the requirement of the businesses, coupled with a reluctance of organisations to further invest in the development of new skills because of cost pressures. There are insufficient apprenticeship schemes to address the large absence of Omani technicians or so- called blue-collar workers for medium-sized companies.”
Outlining some practical measures to address these concerns, Al Kharusi explains it’s essential to define the key areas required for people development in Oman. “A national manpower plan is required to determine the type of skills to be developed to address the gaps, to determine the new skills required to meet our longer term needs and to gear up our educational system, vocational training and apprenticeships schemes to produce the skills required. To this end, we need integrated planning and robust data on our Omani cadre so as to determine the skill gaps, and plan our future requirements accordingly. This will need to be coordinated and managed by the government at a very senior level.”
Mohammed Al Esry, general manger- operations at National Training Institute, corroborates saying, “Omani economy requires diversification of skilled and talented workforce to cope with the Vision 2040. Many key roles such as leadership and management continue to be occupied by non-Omanis as many organisations consider these positions to be very strategic for the growth and success of the business. Omanisation strategies require creativity and innovation to ensure strong educational foundation, training and skills building capabilities which will help develop competent workforce for the industries.”
He adds, “The replacement of an expatriate with an Omani will only provide temporary solution, unless nationals are equipped with sufficient management knowledge and strategic capabilities to overcome challenges of the market demands and the dynamics of the industry environment. Creating and fostering conducive workplace environments to develop Omanis must be the priority of all stakeholders. While providing effective training to build competence, we are working very closely with employers to ensure smooth transition and further development take place on the job.”
Venkatesh PV, principal consultant & business head, RAB, chimes in commenting, “The challenge of skill gap is further accentuated with our goals of creating jobs for the nationals and developing and empowering the national talent pool. In a traditional economy, you can address the skill gap over a period of time, by using foreign experts and expat workforce, till we develop skilled and trained national workforce. But today we don’t have that luxury. It has to be done through a big bang approach. The industries have developed in much faster pace, whether it be the different tourism projects and hotels, manufacturing plants, airports, seaports, free zones etc. And there is a huge demand for skilled workers. But we cannot change overnight the entire syllabus and curricula of the universities and colleges in the country to ensure that all of them suit these industries. Universities are making their courses job-oriented and industry focused; but it’s a long-term process.”
Venkatesh suggests that the easier and faster approach to address the challenges of skill gap is to offer skill-based short term courses, just like a three-month training programme focused on teaching specific skills required for a particular job. “These programmes can certify that an employee is competent, after subjecting him/her to an assessment. For example, in the hospitality industry, one does not require a hotel management degree to work as a front -office person. One only needs to know how to use the hotel software and have good communication skills. These are the things which can be obtained through a short-term course. The government, training institutes and private sector companies should encourage these kind of short-term, job-oriented courses or educational programmes.  It can be done as an industry-wide initiative, adhering to the standards and qualifications of respective industries, rather than pushing it through individual companies. Universities, training institutions and industry associations have a bigger role in implementing them,” he says.
Prof Yusra Mouzughi, vice-chancellor of Muscat University, substantiates this saying that there is wider recognition that successful human capital development requires ever-deepening partnership between government, education and business. The provision of internationally-excellent education is essential in Oman, but not enough on its own. It needs to be coupled with direct industry experience. She continues, “Muscat University’s mission responds directly to the Sultanate’s strategy to build a highly capable workforce, strongly aligned to economic sectors with evidenced potential for growth. Our own analysis identified logistics and the supply chain, business, finance and entrepreneurship and chemical engineering as sectors in which Oman possesses very significant advantages and the real opportunity to compete at regional and global scale. These sectors, and their strategic importance to the national economy, directly influenced the portfolio of programmes we assembled and now provide.”
Adil bin Ali Al Rahbi, HR Head at Oman Arab Bank, agrees to this observing that proper coordination between private sector entities and government regulations will streamline the direction and help achieve strategic collaboration. He also stresses the importance of linking the curriculum of the ministries of education and higher education to meet actual demands of the Omani market.
“The synergy in managing the employment sector in Oman is more essential than ever before, to ensure full alignment when it comes to developing futuristic talented workforces starting from early education stages”, observes Al Rahbi . “This synergy will also be needed in building a strong entrepreneurial platform in the Sultanate, which definitely needs to be taken care of; from building capacities to easing the process of investment in this market segment. Such synergy should help make all business sectors think globally, so as to bring prosperity to the national economy and to keep the workforce at the cutting edge.”
Venkatesh further builds on this suggestion saying that encouraging entrepreneurship and creating a vibrant start-up culture in the country will help bridge the skill gap significantly. “So even the students passing out the universities will have an eco-system to start something on their own. There should be more incubation centres. We have existing ones, but I think they are not still reachable to many college students. Our educational institutions should have their own entrepreneurial or star-up hubs which will encourage students to start ventures on their own. There are a lot of start-up initiatives which students and youngsters can start on their own, especially in industries like tourism,” he adds.
Demand for experts, international exposure    
The increasing demand for training and skill development in several new industries and professions necessitates the availability of experts and skilled trainers to exchange knowledge and provide training. But as Al Kharusi observes the labour regulations do not always allow bringing in foreign experts to, say, help a new start-up to establish itself quickly as well as to develop Omanis in the requisite skills.
“There is a challenge in the form of restrictions in getting government permissions to recruit such skilled workforces”, explains Venkatesh. “This amounts to some sort of tightrope walking. In order to clear this bottleneck, we should be open to the idea of offering short-terms visas for the experts and skilled trainers from abroad. They will stay in Oman for a short term and will leave after transferring knowledge and developing the talent in their respective areas. Some kind of special consideration should be given, in order to get experts specifically for developing the talent in the new industries and professions that are coming up.”
As Mouzughi observes Oman’s human capital development strategies have taken careful account of global competition, and so there is now stronger recognition of the need to support a workforce and society that is outward-facing, internationally engaged, and comfortable in an array of business and cultural contexts. She says Muscat University is making particular efforts to ensure that students feel part of a global community. “The community on our campus is a diverse international mix, which increases intercultural awareness, provides a global social network and the opportunity to interact professionally with people from all over the world,” she adds.
Omanisation: Beyond the obvious  
There is no dearth of success stories and workable models when it comes to developing Omanis and offering them rewarding careers in various sectors. Al Kharusi himself is an example of an Omani mathematics graduate who started at the bottom of the ladder in IT and scaled new heights through hard work as well as appropriate professional development and training to become the first Omani to run an IT organisation in Petroleum Development Oman. Later on in his career, he changed his discipline to HR and ultimately progressed to become an HR director after having received the relevant exposure from Oman and abroad.
“Omanisation should be redefined as competence development and acquisition of new knowledge and experience,” he avers. “If you invest in Omanis who are competent with the right attitude and behavior, they will succeed and can then develop other Omanis in turn in a sustainable manner. If we encourage new players to enter the market, then we can increase employment and training opportunities for Omanis. However, we need to give these foreign entities longevity to operate so that they can reinvest and employ our cadre. One of the most important factors which can make Omanisation sustainable is to empower organisations to fire non-performing Omanis so that they can recruit and replace them with Omanis with the right skills, attitude and work ethic.”
Any nationalisation effort is successful when a nation has the right talent available to do a particular job in the best possible manner, opines Venkatesh. “Organisations should take a lot of responsibilities to develop and nurture their talent. When somebody comes in an organisation, they are skilled to do a particular job only. But the responsibility to ensure that this employee learn new things and scale new heights up the career ladder lies with the organisation. I have worked with a lot of small companies who say they don’t have the time, money or luxury to train people. That is an absolute farce. You don’t need a lot of money to train people. But you need the will. Organisations will have to play a very important role in further developing the talent of their own employees.”
But he says many people opt for the shortcut of poaching talent from other companies by offering an additional say RO50, instead of looking at how they can develop their own existing people in the long run. Another shortcut is relying on expats, without investing enough in developing their own Omani staff.  Many companies practice the method of plucking talented Omanis from other companies, without contributing to develop new talents and improving the skills of their existing talents.
He adds, “Omanisation is not just increasing the number of Omani employees but it is developing new talents and creating skilled national workforce. How long will we fish in the same pond again and again? The pond is not getting bigger and the fish is only getting depleted.”
He puts the blame on the companies who are not making the effort to increase the size of the talent pool. “We need to increase the size of the talent pool, to make nationalisation work well. An internal development framework is absolutely necessary to ensure that our Omanisation is successful.”
Al Kharusi equates this trend to the movement of millennial- job hopping from one organisation to the next and as a result gaining higher salaries like 20 per cent – a trend which the US has followed for many years.  However, he says such people plateau around this level and do not offer much in terms of driving the business forward.
Al Rahbi maintains that organisations need to adopt experiential learning methods, including job rotation and cross function career moves, to gain different exposures and take up higher responsibilities in the future.  He calls for organising several personalised training interventions to meet the need of millennials and generation Z. “They will soon become the driving force behind change in the workplace at all organisations, be it in the public or private sector. It is crucial to pay attention to this fact because continuing the traditional approach of designing career development programmes for young Omanis is not going to work in the long run.  Furthermore, to make Omanisation sustainable, it needs to develop dynamic and innovative leaders, who are able to spot talents and be capable of developing future leaders and successors.”
Career awareness, guidance
Al Esry elaborates on this saying that finding the right people for the right roles is a huge challenge because at present there are no established vehicles to provide effective career awareness and guidance at any levels of education or employment seeking process. “Establishing a career guidance cell which would provide some sort of a basic aptitude testing and career orientation is a dire need.  This would then create a national database of jobseekers sorted out into various skill categories.  Potential employers would be able to access this database to ensure they get the right candidates for the right jobs. Therefore, in order to make Omanisation sustainable and effective in the long run, employers should select the candidates from the database, put them through a relevant training programme to develop basic skills and then progress them through a well-structured on-the-job training phase.”
He adds, “Organisations need to build an attractive environment to allow new generations to adapt to modern technologies and methods and at the same time allow them to be creative, innovative, self –valued, confident, and be inspired to become a productive employee. The government should enforce regulations to develop nationals through intensive apprenticeship programmes as part of ICV commitment to develop competent human capital.”
HR as a partner of business 
Learning and development have gone through dramatic changes over the past few years. In the last seven to eight years, the way HR departments function across the Sultanate has gone through a big change. In addition, keeping pace with global HR practices, the concept of HR business partnering has come of age in Oman in a big way.
Says Venkatesh, “HR has come out of its shell, and is emerging as a partner playing an active role in the running of businesses. In several large companies, HR directors sit on the board, indicating the growing role and strategic importance of human resources in business operations. In Oman, the nationalisation of workforces has also a given further impetus to this. Implementing an effective business partnering and centers of expertise model is accelerating the evolution of HR function.”
The entire way HR is organised has also changed, he adds. “In some larger organisations, employees have a dedicated HR person who manages all their HR-related needs. Since all their requirements converge in one resource, employees do not require to go to different people for different things. And this person is able to build trust and create a rapport with all employees.”
However, he says HR is still restricted in its role of hiring and firing, owing to the challenging economic situation. He says, “When it comes to expats, it’s all about getting the best out of what you have. Hiring new expats has become very difficult, as it involves getting clearance for them as well as finding people who are willing to relocate and work abroad. Therefore, working with employees, developing them and ensuring that they are happy have become very important, even in the case of expats.”
Promising initiatives Public and private sector companies have long since realised that they need high-quality managerial and executive talent to succeed in the new markets that are so critical to the future growth of businesses everywhere. Al Kharusi says there has been a major drive in terms of developing leadership capabilities of the Omani cadre both in private and government entities. The larger organisations have leadership development programmes and succession planning for some time so as to develop competent Omanis to fill their talent pipeline and leadership positions. He observes that there is a large requirement for Omani leaders with proven track records to lead senior positions or head a number of new companies being established especially in the public sector.
Al Kharusi also notes that a number of holding companies and investment companies have been set up, creating an increasing requirement for investment skills, ICT skills and leadership skills which are not always available. These companies are now investing in developing such skills in their own employees or recruit them from other companies.
Companies such as Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) are addressing the large skill gap at the technician level by utilisng the National Training Fund. Once qualified, these technicians are placed at contracting companies where currently there are a substantial number of expatriates. The In-Country Value (ICV) initiative is addressing the skills gap by instituting practical training and apprenticeship schemes for various skills to produce competent Omani technicians, he adds.
“Unfortunately, we still see a mismatch of skills between what is produced by our educational institutions and the requirement of our companies and organisations. We have seen a trend in terms of addressing this issue via Tanfeedh and other ministerial bodies; however, more work needs to be done,” Al Kharusi says.
Muscat University is the first university in Oman to offer year-long industry placements, whereby undergraduate students will spend the third year of their degree in industry, applying the knowledge they have learnt in years one and two. After graduating, they will have already gained a year’s experience increasing the chances of securing a job in their chosen fields.
Mouzughi explains how Muscat University strives to be innovative and entrepreneurial, enjoying strong connections to the business communities of Oman such as PDO, Oman Data Park etc. “Our programmes are combining academic rigour with direct relevance to the world of work, and they require an immersion in industry plus familiarity with the latest learning and information systems. Our academic staff adopt newly devised pedagogical approaches, and our virtual learning platforms ensure that students not only have ready access to materials and key content, but are also adept at using advanced technologies. We need learners who are confident with change, adaptable and resilient.”
A promising initiative in the banking sector is OAB’s employee’s development programme called, ‘LEAD’ which aims to prepare future leaders for the bank across different functions. Learning is made available for everyone at OAB from the service level to top executives, says Al Rahbi. “Moreover, OAB makes sure that the executives are equipped with necessary leadership competencies. OAB executives attended and will continue to attend highly ranked executive programmes in top institutions across the world. This includes MIT, Columbia, Harvard, Wharton School of Business, INSEAD and IMD, just to name a few. Coaching skills are an important competency that OAB executives have and is in the progress of being certified.”
In insurance sector, National Life and General Insurance Co. (NLGIC), Oman’s largest player in this vital segment, has taken various initiatives to identify and develop national talent. The company has conducted various learning and development programmes at regular intervals, internally as well as led by external experts. The company accords top priority to employee engagement activities and provides express growth track with well-formulated succession planning.
Unleashing innovation, creativity   
As global economy is going through an unprecedented technological churn, a lot of jobs are at high risk of vanishing due to automation. Changing demographics are also likely to cause substantial shifts in the size and age of workforces around the world. Oman is not immune to these tectonic shifts, as the twin forces of technology and globalisation have made economies across the world more entwined. Employers need to take account of these shifts when they draw up their plans for sourcing talented workers, as well as how they manage their existing pool of talented employees. It will be too early to predict exactly where the next generation of jobs will pop up and what they’re going to look like.  Due to the inherently disruptive and fast-evolving nature of these jobs, companies as well as education institutions need to adapt and keep up with the pace of change.
Although Oman has made progress in terms of innovation and technology, the Sultanate is still in a catch-up mode, says Venkatesh. “We are still catching up with what is happening in the rest of the world. There are a couple of reasons for that.  One is, we need to create an environment conducive to innovation and creativity. Innovation and creativity are not something you can teach in class rooms. They should be inculcated naturally because it’s the ethos and environment that nurtures and fosters them. This environment should be created in schools, colleges, universities and everywhere.”
Today worldwide innovation and creativity are the most important competencies that will make employees and organisation successful, he says. They are instrumental in making employees tide over the various challenges and help take their companies to a different level of growth. That competency needs to be developed from a very young age, with plentiful opportunities given to people to think out of box and do things which are innovative and creative.
Venkatesh adds, “Schools and education institutions should function as the hub of creativity. But unfortunately in our schools children are made to do only primarily structured activities which are bound by rules and regulations. This thwarts their ability to be creative and go out of the box. We should give children ample opportunities to do and act out of the box. There could be mistakes and pitfalls. But that is part of the game.”
College courses and university curricula should be developed keeping in mind the global knowledge economy, says Venkatesh. “Today, it’s not important where you have got the knowledge from, if you have the right knowledge and the competence to exhibit them.  But unfortunately, we are still obsessed with the name of the university or college where one studied, the certifications and courses one obtained, irrespective of the qualification, skills, competencies one is equipped with.  Why are we so hell bent on papers? With so much of open source learning available, today one can sit at home and learn so many new things. The focus should be on whether you are able to demonstrate and exhibit the knowledge/ skill, rather than where and how one got the knowledge from. Employees should be allowed to get education and knowledge from anywhere they wanted. Don’t restrict them, let them go anywhere-online, offline, blogs, social media anything they want. That will go a big way in unleashing innovation and creativity.”
Many organisations in Oman are slowly moving to e-learning and mobile based training. “Today, the so-called internet generation, is coming to the workforce in a big way. Their learning pattern is very different. They are no longer interested in sitting in a class room and going through a teacher-led learning programme. They are very good at quick learning. You may not get them sit for a two-hour session. But if you give them a five-minute snippet to learn, they will be happy to go through it and learn.  They will also learn something on their own, without a teacher to instruct or guide them. They learn new thing through watching and listening or thorough social collaboration. Byte sized learning will be a way forward in Learning and Development in the near future,” says Venkatesh.
Accroding to Al Kharusi, the advent of cloud services, digitalisation, Internet of Things, cyber security and risk management and compliance requires us to develop such knowhow in our educational institutions so as to produce the ICT skills required by such industries and other organisations. Concentrated focus is required in producing such skills.
He adds, “If we are to compete regionally or globally, we need to project what are the skills required to address our long term needs to meet our vision as a nation. Increased effort is required by organisations to benchmark their processes in terms of efficiency, people productivity, reducing transaction times or use of technology and artificial intelligence to optimise their workforce if we are to compete with peer organisations globally.”
Al Esry has no doubt that the future belongs to technology-driven companies and technologically competent job seekers.  “While a number of initiatives have been introduced to usher technology into Oman, we are still a long way to go. The preferred route to learning is still face-to-face. Commitment and dedication to self-learning using technology does not seem to be appealing as of now for the masses. However, we are gradually bringing in technology into our training methods. Oman is taking the necessary steps to be in pace with the growing technological changes.”
Al Kharusi agrees saying that the Sultanate is making significant progress in this direction. The most visible example is the e-government project which has made an enormous impact on simplification of government processes to the delight of its citizens, he says.
A number of initiatives have also been introduced to enable us to catch up with the global pace of development; however, more needs to be done to accelerate it in an integrated manner. Creativity and innovation and the acquisition of new knowledge are key and are to be stimulated if we are to become competitive.
Al Kharusi adds one of the new trends is the move towards flatter and leaner organisational structures and outsourcing of non-core processes all in the interest of reducing cost and, indirectly, manpower. Mergers and acquisitions of companies of interest continue and this will lead to higher competition locally and some cases regionally.
Automation of HR
Venkatesh vouches for that saying that there is an appetite for innovation in HR as Oman has quickly embraced a lot cost-effective technologies including those introduced by his organisation. Technology is a major leveraging factor in terms of transforming HR and improving the efficiency and the effectiveness of people, he adds.  Most of the medium to large companies have adopted automation of HR activities, according to Venkatesh.  Initially it was HRIS, an intersection of human resources and information technology that has brought about these changes, allowing HR activities and processes to occur electronically.
Today, several routine, non-value added activities are handled by HR systems. And a lot of systems have become intelligent, being able to take decisions on their own. HR solutions and ERP solutions are offering very intelligent technology. A lot of companies have started adopting that for managing their day-to-day work. Employee services is one of the areas which have gone through a great amount of automation. More and more companies are moving towards technology-based dip stick and instant engagement surveys which instantly gives them the climate mood and pulse of an organisation instantly.
Al Rahbi also believes in the power of digital and data analytics to enhance the efficiency of HR functions, especially in decision-making and in managing human capital, both proactively and productively.
In short, for a forward-looking company or a future-driven economy, technology and innovation cannot be of lesser importance in managing and developing human resources than they are in solving a business challenge or tackling a socioeconomic issue.
It’s essential to rethink the current education as well as hiring models and create a new paradigm that will give us the much coveted edge in the knowledge-economy. Only through concerted, multi-stakeholder, systematic cooperation and dialogue among policy makers, relevant educational institutions, government and the private sector can this be achieved.

K to 12 Curriculum

Ang DepEd ay nagpapatupad at namamahala ng edukasyong K to 12 simula nang pormal itong itinalaga noong 2013. Sila ang may eksklusibong pamamahala sa mga pampublikong paaralan, at regulasyon para sa pribadong paaralan. Mula sa 10 taong basic na edukasyon—6 na taon sa elementarya at 4 na taon para sa high school—mula taong 1945 hanggang 2011, ang implementasyon ng programang K–12 ng DepEd at kasunod na ratipikasyon ng Kindergarten Education Act ng 2012 at Enhanced Basic Education Act ng 2013, naging 13 taon na ang basic education ngayon. Isang taon ang para sa kindergarten, 6 na taon para sa elementarya, 4 na taon para sa junior high school at 2 taon para sa senior high school, para sa mga mag-aaral mula edad na 5 hanggang 17 taong gulang. Nitong 2017 lamang naisapatupad ang implementasyon ng Grade 12.
Junior High School ang tawag sa dating 4 na taon ng high school. Ang Senior High School naman ang ika-11 at ika-12 taon, na naghahanda sa mga kabataan para sa kanilang pagtatrabaho. Ito ang specialized upper secondary education, na base sa kakayahan at interes ng isang mag-aaral. Maaari na silang mag-apply ng TESDA Certificates of Competency (COCs) at National Certificates (NCs) para makapagtrabaho ng ayon sa kakayahan nila. May technical, vocational at entrepreneurship courses sila. Kung nais pa nilang magpakadalubhasa, maaari nilang ipagpatuloy ang pag-aaral sa kolehiyo. Sa tulong ng Commission of Higher Education (CHED), magiging sapat ang kaalaman at kakayahan ng isang mag-aaral na nakatapos ng Senior High School, para makapagtrabaho na ng bokasyonal o magnegosyo, o magtuloy ng pag-aaral sa kolehiyo.
May mga maaaring piliin para sa specialization, o "specific tracks” o patutunguhan ng espesyalisasyon:

Ang K to 12 ang sinasabing naghahanda sa bawat Pilipinong mag-aaral para sa mas mabuting kinabukasan dahil mas matibay ang pundasyon nito. May mga certification na maaaring kunin ang mga mag-aaral sa bawat baitang pagkatapos ng elementarya, na nagsasanay at naghahanda sa kakayahang pang bokasyonal at may specialization, tulad ng Certificate of Competency (COC) sa Grade 9 at 10, halimbawa.
Sang-ayon ako sa implementasyon ng K to 12 program dahil bilang Senior High School student, nakikita kong napabuti ang pag-aaral ko at nadagdagan pa ang kaalaman ko para maging handa sa aking kursong nais kuhanin sa kolehiyo ngunit hindi pa masyadong handa ang gobyerno para mapunan talaga ang ganitong sistema katulad na lamang ng kakulangan sa facilities, teachers and modules lalo na sa track na gustong kuhanin ng isang mag-aaral.
Dapat ay mas bigyan nila ng atensyon ang mga nais pang mag-aral sa susunod na henerasyon bilang Senior High School Student, dapat ay bigyan nila ng pondo para makuha ng isang eskwelahan lahat ng tracks na nais ng estudyante, madagdagan pa ang teachers na nais magturo at maisaayos ang facilities para hindi maging siksikan ang mga estudyante sa isang kwarto.
Dapat ay ihalintulad ang mga turo ng Senior High School sa ibang bansa upang mai-apply natin sa mga mag-aaral ang kumpletong sistema at pag-aaral sa sa kanila upang masabi nating nabigyan tayo ng kumpletong gawain na maging handa kapag pumasok na tayo sa kolehiyo.

Ang K-12 ay isang katawagan para sa kabuuang edukasyong elementarya at mataas na paaralan. Ginagamit ito sa Estados Unidos, Kanada, Timog Korea, Turkey, Pilipinas, Ehipto, Australia, Iran at Ekwador.
Sa Pilipinas, ipinatupad ni dating pangulong Benigno Aquino III ang K-12 Education Program. Ayon sa mga opisyal at mga tao na pabor dito ay makakatulong daw upang malinang ang kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa ating bansa. Isa rin sa dahilan nito ay ang pag-unlad ng ating bansa at makasabay sa estado ng ibang bansa ayon sa opinyon ng iba.
Nagkaroon ng sama-samang paghinga ng lunas mula sa mga tagapagturo nang si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, isang buwan bago umupo sa opisina sa 2016, ay nagpasya na suportahan ang K hanggang 12 na programa. Naniwala sila na ang reporma sa edukasyon ay matagal nang huli. Sinabi ng Department of Education (DepEd) chief of staff Nepomuceno Malaluan na mayroong 1.45 million Grade 11 enrollees sa 2016 - 96% ng inaasahang bilang ng mga enrollees.
Sumasangayon ako sa K-12 ito ay may layon ring mas iprepara tayo para sa kolehiyo kaya’t meron naring mga paksang pangkolehiyo na isinali sa curriculum. Alam kong dagdag trabaho naman ito sa ating parte, pero kung iisipin mas okey naman ito nang umangat din tayo sa kondisyon ng ating edukasyon.
Sa parte naming mga estudyante, una naming naging reaksyon ay nadismaya bagamat dagdag perwisyo lamang ito. Gayon na rin sa banda ng mga magulang dahil dagdag bayarin na naman ito sa matrikula, kaya siguro maraming nag-alsa patungkol dito. Pero ng dumating ang panahong napasa na sa korte ang bill at unti-unti nang iniimplementa ang nasabing batas, isa sa naging mga programa nila ang mga Symposium na may layong bigyan ng edukasyon ang mga magulang at mga estudyanteng sasabak sa nasabing programa patungkol sa mga pagbabago sa pagsisimula ng panibagong curriculum.
Marami na sa aming eskuwelahan ang nagsalita patungkol dito, at masasabi kong namangha ako sa benepisyo nito. Dito ko nalaman na dahil nadagdagan ng dalawang taon ang ating edukasyon mas mataas na ang ating lebel kung sasabak tayo sa ibang bansa, hindi na tayo mag-aaral pa pagdating doon. Nasabi ring pagkatapos ng Sekundarya ay pwedeng nang makatrabaho sapagkat my mga certification ka nang pwedeng matanggap dahil sa mga programang nakaloob sa Senior High, at tamang-tama pagkatpos mo ng Sekundarya ay nasa saktong edad ka na para magtrabaho.

K-12 curriculum isang programa na Hindi sinang-ayunan nang pangalan , maaaring para sa kanilay sagabal o dagdag gastusin sa pag aaral at itoy tinuturing hadlang para makahanap agad ng trabaho. Hindi natin maipagkailang naguguluhan tayo at Hindi sang-ayon sa proggramang Ito noong itoy ibang inanunsyo , pero sa kabila ng lahat itoy ating naunawaan at mas naintindihan.K-12 ang ibig-sabihin na sa simula ng iyong pag-aaral kinder to grade 6 (primary) , grade 7 to grade 10 (secondary/junior high) na may karagdagang dalawang taon sa pag-aaral Grade 12 (Senior high school)
Ang programang itoy mas makakatulong sa mga mag-aaral upang mas maging bukas ang langlang mga isipan sa kung Anong dapat gawin sa mga hinaharap , katulad na lamang ng pagpili ng career . karagdagang impormasyon , kung may karagdagang taon karagdagang kaalaman naman ang ating makukuha Dito, Ito ay isinasabatas upang mas maging maayos ang pagpapatakbo ng sistema ng edukasyon sa pilipinas .
Yung K-12 ay tungkol sa kakayahan ng isang mag-aaral , kakayahang gawin nito(skills) kahiligan man o karapat-dapat para sa kanyang career , ang mas maganda pa Dito kung mag tatrabaho ka man in abroad Hindi mo na kailangang mag-aral ng 2 years kung ipupursue mo yung tinapos mo Dito sa pilipinas . Globally competitive para makasabay tayo sa mga Tao sa ibang Bansa at syempre mas mapapadali narin ang paghahanap ng trabaho.
Kung ako'y tatanungin , sang-ayon ako sa programang Ito, sapagkat katulad ng iba mas makakapag-isip ka pa ng Tama kung Anong gusto mong course na mas bagay Sayo in future. Maaaring itoy maraming advantage pero nagkakaroon din Ito ng disadvantage . So ano nga ba ang disadvantage Dito ?Besides sa karagdagang tuition , may kakulangan din Ito ng mga Rooms . Pero Di natin kailangang ipag-alala Ito sapagkat tayo'y supurtado ng mga gobyerno.

Ang K-12 ay tumutukoy sa mga grado sa kindergarten hanggang labindalawa kung saan ang pagpasok ay sapilitan.
Isinara ni Pangulong Aquino ang K + 12 Program sa Batas. Sa isang makasaysayang sandali para sa mga tagapagtaguyod ng katarungang pang-edukasyon, inaprubahan ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III ang Republic Act (RA) 10533, pumirma sa batas ng K + 12 na programa noong Mayo 15, 2013.
Ayon sa DepEd: Sa pamamagitan ng K-12, hindi na kailangan ng mga kabataang magtapos ng kolehiyo para magkaroon ng trabaho.
Pinapatunayan nito na ang karapatan ng mga kabataang makapag-aaral sa kolehiyo, makapili ng propesyon at magkaroon ng oportunidad para matulungan ang kanilang pamilya na umasenso sa buhay ay itinuturing na pribilehiyo lamang ng may kakayahang makapagbayad ng matrikula sa kolehiyo. Kung wala ka nito, sisiguruhin ng K-12 na makapag-aral na lamang ng bokasyunal at teknikal kahit hindi ito ang iyong nais, para sa pagtatapos ng sekundarya ay maaari nang maghanapbuhay. Dagdag pa, sa K-12, inaasahang magtatapos ang mga mag-aaral sa edad na 18—legal na edad para makapag-trabaho. Maliban dito, hindi rin nasosolusyunan ang kawalan ng trabaho ng mga kabataang nakapagtapos ng kolehiyo. Ayon sa pag-aaral, humigit-kumulang na 461,000 Pilipinong nagsipagtapos ng kolehiyo noong taong 2008 ang walang trabaho.
Akoy sang ayon sa pagpapatupad ng K to 12 sa bansa sapagkat maraming Pilipino ang hindi kayang makapagkolehiyo at hindi makapagplano dahil sa kakulangan sa kaalaman. Sang ayon ako sa K to 12 dahil matutulungan tayo nitong makapag desisyon ng gusto nating tahakin sa pagtungtong ng kolehiyo.
Sang ayon ako sapagkat maraming Pilipinong kabataan ang matutulungan nito na makapagtrabaho agad sa legal na edad (18 years old).
Maraming estudyante ang may ayaw ng K to 12 nung una pero nung kinalaaunan nagustuhan nila ito. Marami na ang natulungan ang curriculum na ito maraming nakapagtapos ng Grade 12 na nakpagtatragbaho na ngayon. Hindi lahat kayang makapag kolehiyo kaya’t may k to 12 nang sa gayon ay makapag trabaho na agad.
Kaya ako sangayon maraming kabataan ang matutulungan ng K to 12, dahil hindi naman lahat may kayang makapag kolehiyo at dipende naman sa plano ng mga kabataan kung may plano pa silang magkolehiyo, dahil maraming kapos at mas nagiging kapos pa pag nag kolehiyo.
