-I'm choosing Destiny 2 because I've already covered this for HK I think. But really anything that involves the story pacing of Lightfall, O14, or Eramis tends to get on my fucking nerves. Lightfall was paced exactly how it needed to be for the vibe that we were dealing with (NO WE ARE NOT GOING TO GET ANSWERS RIGHT AWAY IF WE DID A MAD RUSH TO SAVE A RECENTLY-DISCOVERED CIVILIZATION ALREADY UNDER ATTACK THAT HAS A KEY THAT COULD HELP US THAT WE ONLY JUST LEARNED ABOUT), Saint and Osiris were always gay and referring to each other as 'brothers' doesn't negate that because it is an extremely fucking common address of comradery in every country apart from America, and ERAMIS IS NOT A FUCKING DISCIPLE NOR DID SHE KNOW WHAT SHE WAS GETTING INTO WITH THE WITNESS. SHE'S A PAWN SHE'S A SLAVE SHE HATES WHAT SHE DID. Nobody seems to understand the concept of nuanced morally grey characters but her NOT wanting to side with House Light bc it places the Eliksni in a vulnerable position to the humans is VERY reasonable and we outright see in canon MULTIPLE times that she entered a deal with the devil before she saw the contract. Also the Witness is abusive as fuck so she is not part of a fucking 'darkness found family' she is in deep shit watching her friends and loved ones being raised from the dead specifically to torture her and she wants to die because of it oh my goddddddd

House of Flowers (the order of the flowering lady)

Keskrasyks, a baroness of the House of Dancers, breaks away from her house with some captains and their crews, unhappy with how things are playing out now that they've arrived on Earth after the Long Drift. It's the Dark Ages, shortly after the Collapse, and there's much turmoil and fighting to survive.

She does not stay in the Cosmodrome, she takes her crews far away from their old House, eventually settling them in Yorkshire, England. There isn't much around besides rolling hills, the occasional smoking ruin, and lots of sheep, and in their search for a place to permanently stay, they come across the remains of a small farming village.

While scavenging the village for any possible supplies, some young Dregs find the body of a dead Exo woman—who, most presumably, was killed in the initial phases of the Collapse. Having never seen an Exo before and not really knowing anything about her besides that she resembles the native residents of the planet and that she appears to be a machine, they assume that she must have been of great importance—as within their culture machines are worshipped, so, naturally, this machine must be worshipped too, yes? A machine of such intricate and detailed build? It m u s t have been special

So they go and tell Keskrasyks! and they show her the body

And she's like... yknow when you put it that way it COULD be important. We really need something mystical for morale that ISN'T the Great Machine that abandoned us. Hey servitor come over here. We could make a religion outta this

So she goes and tells the rest of her crews that hey, since the Great Machine abandoned us, let's worship this fuckin thing instead! and for some reason (idk I need to think about it more) they're all like yeah!! for sure!!

so they set her up in a barn or a church or something, decorate it all nice, clean her and clothe her in old-style Riis priestess robes and jewelery as best they can, and sit her on a chair/ at an alter to make her look important, and have the Prime Servitor live there as well as it is their main place of worship. it takes a while but eventually she gains the title "Lady of Flowers", as there are a lot of flowers in the area and people keep putting flower crowns on her.

Keskrasyks, despite setting the whole thing up and knowing that it's just a way to keep everyone happy, sort of truly begins to worship her even though she was only really doing it for show. She's a hard woman, she's a warrior, and yet she's trying to adjust herself to leading this mostly peaceful little commune because she couldn't stand to see how her House went down the drain. There's not much food, and not much scrap, and the days are getting colder and greyer—she doesn't know how much longer they can last, if winter is setting in. She's not used to being terribly kind, and she's afraid. She tells her worries to the Lady as she worships, and she feels better for it.

Everything is fine, apart from the threat of the encroaching winter, until a Ghost wanders into their little camp. And revives their Lady.

Understandably, the place is in an uproar! The Great Machine didn't abandon them, it sent a little emissary to awaken their Lady of Flowers to guide them! It's all real!! Keskrasyks is having her Captains doing damage control like CRAZY as she shields the Lady's body with her own and takes her back to her quarters for some privacy, the Lady is about five minutes old and has No Fucking Clue what's going on, and her Ghost is freaking the fuck out

anyway. anyway. eventually they fall in love. big grumpy battle-axe lesbian and her tiny priestess wife who can nuke you with Light if you're that much of a horrible person. Keskrasyks learns kindness and patience from Lady and Lady learns "Murder is Okay Sometimes" from Keskrasyks

Fuego loves anything and everything spicy and hot, things like seared tiktiks in serrano sauce and scrambled aphid eggs on the side is his version of a perfect breakfast. Good luck in trying to get him to eat his veggies.

Lune’s taste is a lot more on the sweeter side, oatmeal and cut fruits and the occasional runny poached egg and toasted bread is good enough for them.

🌙-what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

Fuego really hasn’t thought of a wish he wants, he has what he needs and is loved by his family. But deep down he definitely wishes for companionship, be it platonically or romantically. It’s lonely being a Prince, everyone trying to impress you to gain favors in court, he just wants someone outside of his family to see him as just himself.

Lune’s biggest wish is to know. They have no recollection of their past, their birth is an enigma to everyone and themself. Who are they really? Why are they so different, everyone knows that they are no common bug so what exactly are they? Identity crisis is plenty with them.

💚- what things make your oc feel comforted? hugs, kisses, food?

Fuego’s biggest comfort is his mom, even when he’s older he seeks her out. He loves getting hugs and listening to her purring, it soothes any anxiety and stress instantly. He’s a mama’s boy!

Lune feels most comforted when wrapped in soft blankets, the pressure of being rolled into one soothes them immensely. Quiet also helps a lot, and definitely relishes any time they are not needed. A good nap in a nice heavy blanket is the perfect solution to any stressful day.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

ugh this is a tough one. (especially since i know that some of MY headcanons directly contradict some of yours oops)

honestly? my big one is i think everyone is wrong about the Knight's name. "ghost" is.... fine, i guess, and i suppose it's cute that it comes from Hornet, but i don't think its a name they would pick for themself if they had the chance to choose. i also recognize that i don't exactly have a good replacement name for them, so i'll probably keep calling them ghost because i know people will recognize it, but i do think that "The Knight" is much closer to what they'd pick for their name, if they ever decided to choose.

13. worst blorboficiation

i don't know if i'd consider it the worst, really, but it's very interesting to me how everybody and their dog latched onto Grimm. we know hardly ANYTHING about him other than that he's apparently drawn to dying kingdoms to feed on the fears and nightmares of the dead and reincarnates periodically through a ritual that involves at least SOME measure of violence, and everyone makes him EXTREMELY sexy and usually quite sympathetic and like. believe me, i understand the urge to make tall skinny bug hot and likeable but i just don't think there's any canon basis for those interpretations of him. i think at best he is an ambiguous and mysterious figure, and less generously, a bit of an opportunistic vulture, tbh.

to be clear; i LIKE blorbo grimm! i like him a LOT! but i do think he is the character who has been most fanon-ized out of any of the hollow knight cast.

3. What was their first impression of each other?

-If I had to guess from the scene where they meet in Pigeon and the Phoenix, Saint's first impression of Osiris was that he was a lost bird who needed a friend, and Osiris's first impression of Saint was 'holy shit, beefy.' And honestly, I feel like I personally can't come up with anything better than that because it's so on point for them both kjdsfhg

4. Do they enjoy PDA, or are they more private with affection?

-I feel like both of them are quite private people by nature, but that they're starting to warm up to PDA now that neither of them have to worry about keeping up appearances anymore

28. Who’s the better chef? Do they cook for the other?

-Osiris has the better technical skill, but good fucking luck getting him in the kitchen lmfaooo. He's more than content to just dump milk into a cereal bag and go, if he even eats at all. He's got all these old Middle Eastern recipes from a variety of countries and cultures tucked away in the back of his head and has all the muscle memory needed to eyeball what's required, but he only ever cooks for other people, not for himself.

Saint, however, is a very enthusiastic cook even if he's not always the best at it, so he's usually the one who cooks in their day-to-day life. When Osiris cooks, it's typically because he's doing it for Saint, or because there's people over- like Ikora, Crow, or the Young Wolf- that he feels responsibility for. His love language is all about taking care of people, so that's one of the opportunities he has to show it, and since it comes about so infrequently, he tends to pounce on it when he can.

As for when Saint and Osiris both want to give each other a romantic dinner, however, then they usually argue over who gets to do it before settling either for cooking together or for one of them to teach/read out the recipe to one while the other does the actual cooking. Which, yes, has lead to many a distraction and a tripped fire alarm in the past

hollow/myla. i have no idea if i came up with it directly, but i can't remember anyone else doing so! the pair of them healing together and encouraging each other in a post-game scenario where they both survive, or an au where the hollow knight is fascinated despite themselves by the songs of a miner...v nice.

4: Name a popular ship you don’t get the appeal of.

lace/hornet. she does seem to be dangerously flirting in her trailer, but man! we don't know lace yet. feels like ppl are setting themselves up for future upset if the collective fandom's made-up characterization for the sake of shipping don't match.

The bulk of the Thirteenth Crusade AU, and honestly my best longform fic I’ve posted so far. Low-fantasy AU featuring an original setting! Dragons! Found Family! More Dragons! Trust As A Theme! A causal chain that, to quote, “rips like hell”! if you like Dadtcher content this is where you’re gonna find mine.

Mu travels across the continent with a dragon’s soul bound to a book, on the promise that as she upholds her end of the deal, the dragon will rain fire on the heads of the force occupying her home island.

Quantum Crucible (Amphibia, 5500 words, complete)

Okay this rec is both a plea of ‘please pay attention to this fic I worked very hard on it and it’s one of my favorites and it’s underappreciated’ but also I genuinely think it’s one of my better fics.

So y’know how the Shadowfish are just kinda Still There under Marcy’s room after she and her pals disturbed them? They’re curious about her. So is Marcy about them. And isn’t it interesting, that she was placed right above where the monarchs of the old empire keep all their interdimensional prisoners and trophies...

Day One Dark (Promare, 50k, complete)

Also super underappreciated tbh, this is the longfic that took me two years to write. A canon-divergent and VERY worldbuilding-heavy AU that covers events after the escape from Freeze Force Detention Center, without the escapees being tracked. Lots of looks into Burnish culture and physiology, with attention paid to the world outside of Promepolis.

Death and Taxes (Brave Animated Series, 14,700 words, complete)

I would also say this one is underappreciated too but tbh it’s doing fantastic for how tiny the fanbase is lmao (pls give Brave on netflix a shot). Primarily a story and character piece regarding the events between Morewant’s sudden crowning and the end of the short-lived King of War’s reign. 

Blown Buds of Barren Flowers (Amphibia, 3,800 words, complete)

Has a much longer sequel in the form of Light of Presage, but THIS ONE is solid as hell imo. Do you like insight into the Core possession? The most crunchily visceral and vivid mental dialogue? Marcy getting to literally say “fuck you” to the Core? Go! Go look! Seriously it’s my favorite example of the mental dialogue specialty at the moment!
