I recently watched Revolutionary Girl Utena, and wanted to do fan art like this, of other characters in that style. Then I realized Vel and Cinta from Andor are revolutionary girls, and are gay, which is perfect, so that's what I did, tracing a screenshot of them.

“I had a lot of practice,” Vel says, then blushes. “With the dresses, and getting them off quickly, I mean.”
“Oh, sure, tell me what you meant,” Cinta says, and kisses Vel before she can respond.
what i love about vel and cinta is they’re not just surface-level representation, like that dumb kiss in the end of tros that could easily be edited out and has no meaning. they’re fully integrated into the story, with their own personalities and journeys. and even better, their dynamic itself is complicated—the tension between commitment to the rebellion and each other, between cinta’s cold confidence and vel’s passion. it calls back to a common sw relationship tension, which is the struggle between duty to a higher cause and selfish love. you can see a similar dynamic in kanan & hera’s relationship in rebels and even in anakin and padme’s relationship in the prequels. tl;dr they’re great and finally!
