alchemy of souls: this show is so well named bc it literally is my soul. to date the only media that has made me sob hysterically (multiple times!) all of the characters are so incredible and multifaceted and jung somin and go younjung portray the fl with so much depth it is amazing. lee jaewook is also incredible as the ml and his character is one of the most interesting protags i've ever seen. also the cinematography and magic system is amazing i believe it's partially based off of chinese xianxia dramas? but it is so amazing it is my favorite thing ever go watch it: a+ plot, a+ cast, a+ cinematography

law school: this one also has go younjung in it! (alchemy of souls) and i literally could not put it down bc the plot is so interesting & the characters are all. absolutely incredible to watch. it is so much more than just a murder mystery, and i think it really made me rethink how i viewed lawyers & the legal system in general. also solhwi beloveds forever so ! i think this is rlly fun if u love murder mysteries, law, dark academia or just some really well-developed characters

weightlifting fairy kim bok-joo: this one is a bit older but nam joo hyuk is so beloved here?? absolute friends to lovers excellence i love love love the chemistry between the leads like apparently they were dating? during the show? and u can absolutely tell bc bokjoo and joonhyung are so in love with each other. besotted. i think it's such a fun drama and bokjoo is so everything to me

hometown cha-cha-cha: absolutely pure serotonin at its finest. it is so escapist u can just put it on and forget abt all ur worries. there are like 0 stakes it is just such a beautiful exploration of love and living in a small town vs a city and i adore yoon hyejin she is so special to me

hymn of death: this one is literally 3 eps long & it broke me into pieces? it's a story about two people finding love during the japanese occupation of korea and it hurts so badly to see two people trying to keep their culture afloat while being occupied. also the ending is so painful but it is soooo good like. shin hye sun never ever ever misses she's my fav actress i think

my name: another shorter drama! it is 8 eps and they're all so?? action packed?? song jiwoo is so special near and dear to me. it is literally just about a young woman dealing with the grief of the death of her father and trying to avenge his death and it's one of the most painful things i've ever seen but it's incredible. han sohee put everything she had into that portrayal of her

our beloved summer: title is so correct bc this drama is so beloved to me! i honestly love how they portrayed both leads, guk yeonsoo and choi ung's struggles felt so real and kim dami and choi wooshik really did an incredible job portraying them as just. very real people. it's like. haters to lovers to exes to pining to "friends" to lovers but their love is so real. it's so so so good and it's the first kdrama i ever saw so it is forever special to me

honorable mentions:

moving: ok tbh idk how qualified i am to rec this rn bc i just started (another go younjung drama, r u noticing a pattern) but already i adore the plot and the characters and i'm so excited to see where this goes next!! this one is about a group of people who have superpowers and there's some agency involved but tbh idk much more than that

destined with you: in no way is this a drama w an actually good storyline like we are just here for the vibes but i love kim rowoon and i love jo boah and their chemistry is off the charts and they're so cute in this drama! and honestly i am having so much fun every wednesday and thursday w them . so. this one is about a "cold" lawyer and a civil servant who are reincarnations of their past selves who were alive during the joseon dynasty and whose love story ended in extreme tragedy. the lawyer (jang shinyu) is cursed to have some kind of brain tumor i think? and there's a spell book involved that belongs to the civil servant (lee hongjo). it is very no plot only vibes

see you in my 19th life: this one....fair warning. the ending is. quite. something. but honestly it started out so strong and i think it is still a fun time bc shin hyesun strikes yet again. tbh i only got thru this one bc of her portrayal of ban jieum but honestly this is probably one of her best performances if not her best. this one is abt a girl who remembers all of her past lives trying to find the boy she loved in her past life (moon seoha) but couldn't be with bc she died very young

angel's last mission: love: i think this one def got a tad melodramatic at times but honestly kim dan and lee yeonseo are so in love. i want to be in love like they are in love. this is abt a ballerina who, due to an "accident", became blind and couldn't dance anymore and an angel is sent down to help her find love but ends up falling in love w her instead. another shin hyesun drama and she never ever misses so ! her portrayal of yeonseo is an acting masterclass actually

to be watched:

twenty-five, twenty-one: saw an edit of this one to long live and had to watch it so it is on the tbw. also a nam joo hyuk drama (about a young woman's fencing journey & youth w her friends & first love and also about her daughter's ballet career i think)

moon lovers scarlet heart ryeo: i love love love iu and need to see her projects so! heard this one is pure pain which sounds sooo fun actually (about a girl in the 21st century who gets transported to the goryeo dynasty i believe)

extraordinary you: cannot believe there is a drama that exists with both lee jaewook and kim rowoon. how is that real (about a girl who is a side character in a comic book and decides she doesn't want to be and then there's like a crossover w another comic book or something like that)

ehehe. i specifically put this question on here so i could gush about burn <3 i didn’t appreciate him as hermann back in 2018 + he didn't really catch my eye back then, but watching torchwood made something click in my head, i think he’s the prettiest ;-; ive since gone thru a bunch of his filmography fhdksjf i adore him, he’s sooo talented n underrated. and what an absolute dork + lovely guy too, like when i was rlly fixated on him last summer i dug through tumblr shit into like, times people met him at conventions in 2013 and literally every single person was like “he was the sweetest person ive ever met” like i could not find a single negative thing about him. he’s a doll. ok so idk about Magnum Opus but . you can hear it in the silence is probably the most personal fic i have ever written and the closest to a magnum opus i’ll ever get bc 1. i relate so deeply to mike wheeler as is and this was kind of how i interpreted his struggle w his identity and coming into himself just as a teenager navigating that weird place between high school and college and figuring out your interests and who u are,, and 2. full disclosure bc we’re all Friends here i Did write this fic right after a long distance relationship ended earlier in the summer which definitely influenced my decision to write it in the first place and 3. idk! there were so many aspects of this fic that were just me projecting, like mike getting the older sister mentor figure he deserves (i love nancy but she is Not the greatest older sister ok) and learning to take his time w things when you feel like u dont have enough of it,, anyways i would say this fic is probably my Favorite ive written ! it’s rly hard for me to reread my works but this one ive read back a few times and i actually. enjoy it?

Everytime every freakin time i get that they love water, oceans,will meet around a water body,man! i love how sheng wang and jiang tian found a home in each other so so much. they're dramatic af in the way teenagers tend to be, emotions running wild without abandon, reckless in the brilliance of their youths, and yet they're both hiding their loneliness and i love that they're able to share that with each other. sheng wang, who's "always been good at letting go" and jiang tian, who's "never been able to make others stay"...  sheng wang, realizing his feelings and trying to let go of jiang tian, calling him "ge", flunking his exams on purpose to draw a line and create some distance, and jiang tian, giving him a wholeass notebook of exam questions with detailed answer key to get him to "score higher and come back". and then it's mirrored again after the separation and timeskip, with sheng wang "letting go" by constructing shells around him to protect himself and his broken heart and throwing himself headfirst into work, and jiang tian being the one to "reach out and probe" by texting him "anonymously" throughout the years, the equivalent of the notebook of exam questions...

What I Disliked

tbh the tonal shift to the Family Angst n the knives was so abrupt, it's super jarring when compared to the rest of the wn. overall i don’t rly dig the dogblood drama even tho the post-timeskip is a nice wrap up to the events. like i get why it’s necessary but honestly the best parts of moumou were the early parts when they’re just innocently competing over exam results and making trouble here n there.

lowkey i was feeling a not small amount of post-novel depression after tbbf, and fumbled around a bit seeking new things to read, and really moumou is an amazing palate cleanser in the sense that tbbf's worldbuilding scale was truly too big, the romance understated and yet running deep, the plot deceptively simple but executed so, so well, that reading anything with a grand scale would inevitably draw comparisons. in that sense, it's better to go with a genre that's the complete opposite―a small scale story, simple and realistic, without a single hint of fantasy.

possession (1981) duh. gore doesn’t kick in for a bit and isn’t super long and gorey but it’s SO GOOD when it does

deathgasm (2015) was sooooo fun and gorey and bloody and campy. very much an ode to evil dead.

OH and if you haven’t seen evil dead that too!!! i like evil dead 2 a lot more than the first but both have good gore

basket case (1982) so fun

the loved ones (2009) really gorey really fun really cool horror role reversal. i ❤️evil teenage girls. felt martyrs (2008)-esque in some parts, which i will talk abt later in this post

IMPETIGORE (2019) !!!!! literally one of my favorite movies ever it’s SO underrated and was soo good and gorey and literally everything i could want in a horror film.. fucked up lore, nature and graveyards AGH it was so good. it’s a shudder original but i think you should be able to find it through other means if u dont have shudder

the autopsy of jane doe (2016) much more a medical gore type situation but i loved it

the dentist (1996) super fun mouth themed horror / gore. felt like a fever dream and a drug trip combined. the second one was also really fun

audition (1999) literally need to say nothing about this

the hellraiser series!! I’ve only seen up to 5 i think but 1 + 2 are so good. (2nd is my fave)

the saw franchise is all great gore!!

may (2002) was so damn good!! i think you would really love this one, there's a milk + blood moment in it!! and weird creepy dolls!!

suspiria (1977) and the 2018 version were so good! the 2018 one wasn't so much a remake as more than a retelling and expansion. i personally did the 2018 one first and then the 1977 one upon a recommendation so that you can go into the 2018 one without comparing it to the original, which i felt helped in my enjoyment of it a lot.

house of wax (2005) i have some mixed feelings on this movie as i do think it plays into the “omg people who look different than us are sooo evil and fucked up horror trope” but. the gore is amazing and the soundtrack fucks so hard.

the descent (2005) literally there’s a lake of blood. and very very very few men god bless.

american mary (2012) incredible amazing outstanding show stopping never been done before

revenge (2017) no idea how i feel about this movie but the gore was good

okay and now the cronenberg section of the reclist. i recommend everything of his so here are his more gorey ones ranked by my faves (dead ringers isn’t gorey really but it gets an honorable mention as my fave cronenberg)

videodrome, shivers, the fly, rabid, the brood, scanners (these are more body horror than pure guts n blood but they are great nonetheless)

okay and now my two really fucked up but amazing recs that i have to give a disclaimer these are Intense and not-for-everyone-recs

martyrs (2008) is one of my top 10 movies ever i adored it so much and it’s so gorey and gross and wonderful but as i said, quite intense and stomach churning.

and then the nekromantik series. these are quite a bit of meta commentary films, i.e why would someone watch this because they really are gross and insane. nekromantik 2 was my favorite. but yeah big big warning for these in general. definitely hard stomach churning watches, and makes you question why you are watching them, but still amazing. but yeah. proceed with caution with them if you watch them.

i find it both frustrating and fascinating tht there seems like an almost universal understanding among kh fans tht the women + girls of kh are treated badly by the narrative but then all of these same fans turn around n treat these characters Just as badly. 

n ive been chewing on this question for a bit trying 2 figure out how Best 2 say this but fuck it. heres a bullet list of assorted thoughts on the subject none of it is eloquent or coherent. 

kairi absolutely suffers the most in the narrative n in fan content. nobody needs me 2 tell them tht. but specifically i dislike tht everything abt kairi seems 2 come back 2 her relationship 2 sora and Soras Feelings For/About Her. frustrating. 

the way tht ppl go out of their way 2 compare xion n kairi despite them having almost nothing 2 do w each other infuriates me. the in game statement of xions core memories being soras memories Of kairi does not make her a kairi. i think it does her a serious disservice 2 reduce xion 2 tht even if the games compare them as well. tht doesnt make it ok for either of these characters. 

namine is probably among my fav characters in the series. i think shes a rlly good supporting character. shes got fun powers, a good set of circumstances tht fuel her actions, she makes mistakes, n shes allowed to rectify tht later. the problem is tht she blips out of existence almost as soon as her story is over n it feels like the narrative just Doesnt know what 2 do w her after the fact. thts rlly frustrating. 

aqua isnt a bad character but i hate the voice direction for her it just feels....weird 2 me. the wiki compares her 2 kairi also which i fucking loathe. her entire playable story is cleaning up after other ppls messes n she seems 2 get constantly pushed into Mom Friend role in fan content tht ive seen. n like.....i dont think her story is inherently bad but i DO hate the bad taste it leaves in my mouth where the only playable lady character in a Main Storyline is just cleaning up after the mess of the male characters.

larxene is the best character in the goddamn series this is not a joke. shes fun 2 watch shes got a rlly epic moveset n abilities shes just fantastic every second shes on screen she steals the show. BUT. shes a villain. n as far as i know, her former self elrena doesnt act like tht. n is a completely different fucking person. so.

strelitzia only exists 2 die i guess. i could not tell u anything abt skulds personality even tho i like the version of her ive made in my head. ava n invi r practically interchangeable w one another. i frequently forget there r girls in dark road.

SO BACKSTORY !! we have andrew: a complete weirdo but likeable abt it? just a chill dude doing his own thing while gaming. sometimes he codes too (here is a beloved fic with absolutely feral robot maker/youtuber!drew). his channel name is nyandrew, it never gets Big big but its stable enough that andrew can do it for fun. he has The Cat Ear Headphones which he never acknowledges the existence of but still wears every single stream. king knocked over his camera once and that 10 second clip became his channel trailer forevermore

there's always someone in the back of his streams just . sleeping?  it's kinda hard to see, no one knows who it is and andrew never addresses it so everyone just accepts it as another quirk of his lives... until one day andrew streams earlier than normal and halfway through the door creaks open and they hear "...babe? i couldn't-- oh. can i come in" cue absolute CHAOS within the chat bc WHO IS THIS !!!!

this person is the one and only kevin day. he's a college student but lives at the house and usually pops up in the other's vids. he was helping dan (who started this whole operation) with moving in. that day he hung out with the foxes, who convinced him to stay for their first day sleepover celebration and then he never left :]

neil is a faceless streamer and a generally funky dude . he started out with silent walkthroughs/speedruns of puzzle games, and now he plays whatever while keeping up the most bizarre and unrelated commentary. he also runs the foxes' podcast. his 'quiplash/jackbox with friends' vids (prompt game where everyone votes on their fav answer) are his most popular because he always has the most brutal and funny answers and he's in top 3 every single time

he only shows up on camera in the other's streams as a hand or legs but once a week MINIMUM the mysterious neil comes into andrew's room and says "release the roombas" and then u hear meowing (this is also where the channel trailer comes from)

kev's always sleeping on lives because andrew streams at 2am (insomnia things)... kev has night terrors and sleeps better with someone else in the room, but andrew can't really sleep with another person on the bed so this system works 4 them

there's this mythical clip of neil coming in and like collapsing on top of kevin sleeping on the floor. they say something 2 each other and neil laughs and then leaves AND IT HAS TORN THE INTERNET APART FOR YEARRSSSSS nyandrew's biggest career drama is nobody knows what's happening between them

andrew is also generally such a gremlin about answering questions u will never get a straight answer from this man ever . and on this topic he is the Worst. (referring 2 kevin) "who's ur friend?" he's not my friend.   "okay. what's the name of the man in the room with you?" very funny guys. that prank won't work there is no one behind me . "u said u were an only child" i never said that. i said i grew up an only child    and so on

when neil actually sticks around in a live - he's wearing a hoodie with the strings taut so it covers his face mostly. kev's passed out on andrew, andreil r bantering and flirting. andrew's like "i gotta go to the bathroom" and he just. hoists kevin up and puts him in neil's lap instead and NONE OF THEM BLINK and kev just curls a hand in neil's hoodie, looks up at him and hes like *squints* "ur hiding?" in a sleepy tone and neil's like ":] u don't like the look?" when andrew comes back he brushes neil's neck and all 3 of them keep casually talking LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED and chat is literally unreadable. it is going insane

in regards 2 ur post about lap sitting these 3 are EXACTLY like this tiktok. *caresses head* "can u stay for one game..." like !!!!!!!!!!!! i am gone i am deceased... it is them. kevin is the main lap stealer between them (imagining kev's 6'1 self curling into a ball 2 fit in the chair with either of them. sparks joy) and he is super clingy while andreil have little gestures like neil slinging his legs over andrew's on the couch. he sits upside down and andrew steadies him when neil starts to slide off. neil tries to go for a run at like 5am after staying up all night and andrew catches him in the kitchen, all bleary after a live and shoves him into a beanbag. (if he sits on top of him to make him stay and they have an intense mental conversation with unwavering eye contact then nobody's around to prove it)

at the end of the day (night? morning? what is time to them) they're tired and the walls and online personas are down. they stay up talking or sitting in silence, all squished together on a mattress or sprawled around the tv or listening to low music in the car.

- snl ripoff au! danny and rusty are the weekend-update-adjacent anchors and they get gay. i Would have this take place in la (reuben is taking A Risk producing a late night sketch comedy show on the west coast but the 11/12/however fuckin many are fantastic cast members so even though they lose revenue from the other timezones not watching as much as they watch snl or whatever, they still make BANK... but danny and rusty getting gay throws the equilibrium out of whack) BUT la sucks DICK so its happening in new york. also this way u get Ocean Sibling Banter (debbie and lou are the anchors for The Actual Weekend Update and when debbie/lou get together and also when danny/rusty get together there are so many ‘just switch out the blondes/brunettes nobody will be able to tell and we won’t have hr down our necks’ jokes)

- au based on this post where some archaeologist finds a bunch of dannys [french person voice] Love Lettairs 2 rusty and so obviously the logical course of action is to rob the museum (which happens to be the museum that tess is curating. funny how things work out) without telling his team What Theyre Stealing. they successfully pull off the heist but turns out the letters were not among the items they stole!! danny is getting desperate. as a last-ditch attempt he calls tess and asks her to let them rob the museum. shes like Why The Fuck Would I Do That. he explains and she begrudgingly agrees. danny and livingston go break into the museum Again but rusty tails them bc dannys been acting Weird and he finds out abt the letters bc livingston sweats more whenever he tells a lie. they live happily ever after (literally, theyre immortal) the end. also even though dannys a werewolf the 11 all call him the new jersey devil (its not his fault that legend came to be ok!! he was very drunk!!)

- HOSPITAL AU!!! danny and rusty r er techs while theyre doing med school and nobody knows how they juggle their shifts w school but also rusty can do a tracheotomy in like 5 seconds and danny can tell when a person needs an mri before they even list their symptoms so nobody questions it and nobody splits them up Ever. when they eventually become surgeons, danny does cardio and rusty does neuro, and whenever they have to work together not only do they never have to say what theyre doing, they don't even have What Do U Want To Cook For Dinner convos fully out loud. tess is head nurse... she makes so many excel spreadsheets... they are ALL color coded. isabel is head er doc and nobody dares to halfass things on her watch. reuben is head hospital admin, saul is chief surgeon, basher is head of the burn unit, the malloys r the HUNKIEST nurses in town, frank does plastic surgery/ent (every patient loves him bc he is just So Calm), livingston is The IT Guy, yen does like orthopedics or physical therapy, and linus is their fav resident who they all lovingly tease 24/7. the ocean sibs r both Cardio Gods and each dominate their respective coasts. debbie is an nyc doctor and if she sees a mass gen doctor its on SIGHT. the few surgeries that she and danny collab on go so fast that the med students in the gallery Cannot tell whats happening. lou is also a plastic surgeon and she and frank r best buds. linus requests time off like 6 months in advance Every Time and everyone hates it bc then They have to be on call but he doesnt realize his Extreme Overachieverness is causing so much strife. whenever tess and danny get in an argument she colorcodes his rounds spreadsheet to be the most neon shit youve ever seen. can you tell i never fully progressed past my greys anatomy phase this one is like 93489302 lines long

- superpower au where rusty has midas touch and danny has corrosive touch and when theyre too young to have control over their powers (abilities develop throughout adolescence and the user gains control at the end of adolescence) they accidentally brush hands and are terrified they just killed each other but turns out their powers like. cancel out. so until they reach like 21 or 22 and can touch things without fucking them UP they just. hold hands all the time. bc otherwise they have to wear gloves to prevent Accidents and both of them “hate gloves” (and also love holding hands. gayasses)

- uhhh hallmark au where danny is a crime fiction writer out on some beach north of ocean city nj and rusty is his fancy nyc editor. everyone else is a thief including debbie who is just Very weirded out that her brother, who robbed boston’s institute of contemporary art at age 22 and got away with it, has decided to spend the rest of his life churning out books. he is very critically acclaimed and about half of the 11 are buds with him and use his published books as heist inspo. the other ~half of the 11 are buds with rusty, and they tell him if danny’s heists are feasible or not (they always are. scarily so.) anyway rusty and isabel break up 12 days before xmas and danny and tess break up 8 days before hanukkah so dannys heading to debbie’s place in upstate new york to mope for the holidays when A BLIZZARD HITS and he gets stranded in midtown. and he and rusty are buds but like. Email Buds. they dont hang out irl and therefore they dont let their Totally Bud-Like Feelings mess up their professional relationship. but danny is stranded and its hanukkah and he ends up crashing at rustys place for the duration of the blizzard. and then rusty ends up coming to debbies place for the rest of the holidays. and then they kiss on new years eve and debbie kicks them out bc theyre being gross

I’ll answer not just Jen’s question, but generally thoughts surrounding D and Rose’s relationship!! It’s gonna be long because I think about this a WHOOOOOOLE lot, and I seriously mean a whole lot,,, so read ahead!

btw, if you think Rose is a bad person and D hates him, that’s where you’re mistaken! IT’S MY STORY MY HEADCANONS SO IF U DONT WANNA READ THIS THEN DONT BRO HJASGJHASHJ

PRE-ETERNATUS, CHALLENGER ARC

Ive mentioned before, but D and the chairman had a fairly good relationship!!

In-game, rose is very interested in the player and talks to you a lot, so honestly not much changes here

D, in his challenger phase, is forcibly very loud and flamboyant. being overly animated and confident, he’s able to keep up with rose who likes to chat and banter with him 

When d talks to people, he KNOWS he’s being over-the-top, which is why he feels very awkward doing it (when people point it out, it makes it painfully awkward and embarrassing for them. Point in case: bede and Marnie!)

Rose finds him a very interesting trainer and observes D a lot. Its not hard to notice how hard he’s trying, but rose doesn’t point this out and genuinely moves along with what D’s vibes are as to not make him feel any more humiliated 

D is aware that Rose is playing along with his act, and thanks to this it really builds up trust like!! Oh the chairman isn’t making fun of me and genuinely finds me interesting and strong!!!! the chairman!! What a morale boost!!!!!! 

Again, its genuinely (funny and) awkward when D is being his over-the-top animated self, and its easy to point this out (which most people do, from his rivals to other trainers, to even gym leaders) but the only people who dont actively point it out AND act along would be his mom, hop, Leon, and rose! 

in addition, D has a pretty high-pitched voice so its easy to tell he’s trans?? He was worried he was going to be misgendered by such an all-important person like the chairman, but was surprised when rose immediately was just comfortable with calling him a “young man”

Another cute trivia thing during this stage was that they both are wearing shades for their “incognito mode” and D even gives the chairman some fashion tips for the next time he goes out!

It actually pisses off bede with how much rose and d talk;;;;;;  def one of the reasons why d and bede fight hhhh

The part of the plot where they head to rose tower, D was actually very against it in the beginning, saying that he could actually just try and call up the chairman if he wanted to! He tries and tries, but then starts to panic once he does in fact realise that something isnt right 

Even after storming thru rose tower and defeating oleana, d eVEN TRIES TO INVITE ROSE TO THEIR DINNER (MY BOY IS THINKIN: A DINNER WITH HIS FAV PPL!! HOP, LEON, AND ROSE!! the only one missing would be his mom) ……….but r-rose dismisses it with a smile, saying maybe next time…………..

D is a meek, insecure person who is easily broken down, so he really needs a lot of support to keep moving sO JUST IMAGINE this baby boy who puts trust in someone suddenly goes batshit and you have to defeat them with ur own hands????? Wowza. 

POST-ETERNATUS, NEWLY APPOINTED CHAMPION

OH BOY EVERYONE KNOWS HOW THIS FUCKIN GOES IF THEY REMEMBER MY FIRST POSTS JHASGJHHJAS

Ive already shown this via an illustration + a short Drabble, but its only after the eternatus battle that their father-son relationship is revealed

The game really doesnt show how serious the eternatus battle was, but for me: Leon was hospitalised for quite some time and wasn’t allowed to battle D until he healed up. At the same time, this gave D a lot of time to think about wHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED

I dont mention it, but this is where his gym leader au starts off from the canon timeline!! At this point, D is calling his mom or talking to hop or just locking himself up and is just generally in a panicked state where he feels like dropping out of the challenge, feeling overwhelmed with what just happened

ANYWAY IM HERE TO TALK ABT ROSE AND D but lets just say his Pokemon convince him to continue!!   

at the same time of his win, gossip went around quick and not only is D now very popular for suddenly defeating the unbeatable champion Leon, but is actually the “villainous��� chairman rose’s son!??!?!?!??!! 

POOR SON BOY IS OVERWHELMED ONCE MORE, HELP HIM.

He actually escapes to the isle of armour + crown tundra as a way to give him time to think about this more (isle of armour: personal time for himself to think alone, crown tundra: chance to spend time with relatives he didn’t know he had) 

OK GENUINE RELATIONSHIP ANALYZATION TIME:

After becoming champion, he really didnt go see rose at all, feeling a plenty mix of frustration, sadness, anger, betrayal, but!! his feelings dont simply surround the “oh the adult I trusted was actually bad and lied to me“ or “wtf hes the dad who wasn’t there for me and is the reason why mom is alone how dare he” IT REALLY WAS A MIX OF BOTH HGHHGHH

But its BECAUSE he was close to him in the first place that he knows rose wasn’t just….straight up a bad person or a villain

The important part here was that rose and D were close during the challenger part, and our lad had a lot of time to think about how he was simply a good, misguided man

rose is very passionate about the things he cares about, to the point of doing anything and everything for them (ex. Awakening eternatus for Galar’s sake to the point of accidentally getting darkest day, or even working hard for Miriam’s sake to the point of accidentally never being there for her anymore) 

Yeah, d talked to a whole lot of people to think this over. He learned what happened between rose and his mom while talking to her, and D also learned what happened between peony and rose to further understand what’s up!!

In the process, I like to think both Miriam and peony dont hate rose! D was also an important factor in helping the both of them realise and clear up a few things, and at least, in their minds, stay on good terms with rose 

During both DLC arcs, D is silent at first but slowly n surely starts sending small letters to Rose :’))

YAY ACTUAL INTERACTION????

After a lot of thought on his self-journey, its safe to say that D had felt a lot more comfortable, finally talking to rose after the galarian star tournament arc !!

Ive mentioned before, but its not like D has to start from scratch since they had a good relationship as challenger and chairman beforehand anyway

D wants a dad! He does want to meet his dad, and at the same time rose regrets not making time for his lover and future family, so I’d say after pushing away the initial negative awkwardness they do both have the same, genuine goal in mind to talk to each other and build a good relationship with each other!!!!!!

Ive also said before but like ONE OF D’S FEARS IS…..”WHAT IF I MEET MY DAD AND HES TRANSPHOBIC” YKNO???? So knowing that rose already thinks hes already perfect in his eyes, IT REALLY DOES WONDERS TO A YOUNG BOY YKN O ?? ? ? ? ?? 

Uhhhhh honestly I really dont know how jail works and shit sO LETS JUST SAY D VISITS REGULARLY IF HES NOT BUSY WITH CHAMPION DUTIES!!!

TL;DR

D had a lot, and I mean A LOT, of time to think about Rose. He does not have any ill intentions or feelings towards him, and the two have a hopeful, slowly budding father-and-son relationship.
