Starfall's Helpful Locations Guide 1 !

We thought It'd be helpful if we discussed some of the locations you can visit during your stay in Starfall, that way you can plan ahead for sites you wanna see! So have this 'lil guide with descriptions of each place and what they have to offer! (This post includes places from the City! Check our other post for Suburban Spots!)

City Sites !

Starview Cinema

If you're looking to watch movies in HD, Starview Cinema should be at the top of your places to visit. A few years back, it was redone to give it the aesthetic of a vintage Cinema; a giant movie board - updated daily -, a large, lit-up sign, ticket booths under the awning, it's got it all! Inside, despite the illusion of a flat roof outside, there's a domed ceiling with a starry sky painted on, giving the building a magical night feel. There are self-salting and buttering stations, concessions, and even a bar for you to get a little sum :) There are two wings on either side, each holding 10 regular theatres and 1 VIP theatre. People praise Starview on how quickly new releases make it to the screens, but recently, "movies" and "ads" containing strange, often graphic, material have been appearing where they aren't meant to. Not to fret, the staff are working on a fix for this! So If you see anything strange, do make sure to report it.

Celeste Aquarium

The Celeste Aquarium is quite a sight to see, and not just for the life within, but for just how grand it is; gorgeous detailing surrounds the entire building, along with marble pillars and steps, which are always kept pristine. There are 3 sections in total, split into two wings on either side of the main building, which sports a giant glass dome; it's ethereal at night! Each section houses a different type of aquatic lifeform: smaller fish, like seahorses or clownfish, are at the right wing, while the left wing holds larger fish and creatures, like whales and sharks. There is a large, cylinder tank at the center section, under the dome, that holds a mix of both wings, though majorly holds rare, magical creatures. Sometimes, there are mermaid shows held at the center tank; however, Celeste Aquarium does not use real mermaids for these shows; despite some people pointing out how real the fins look, we can say that its thanks to our special effects team that we're able to make the mermaids look convincing!

Novelty Nook

A popular, well-known bookshop within the city; a staple if you're an avid reader! The building is two stories tall, and its exterior is modern, with a solid black coat of paint on the bricks in front and large windows, making it stand out from the shops on either side. It has a cute black awning with a sign just above it. Although it seems small outside, it has a surprising amount of space once you step in. It exhibits a homey vibe inside, warm lighting and a relaxing feel, contrasting the cool, modern design of the outside. It has books from every genre, and nearly every author: Kids' books, romance, murder mystery, how-tos, you name it and the shop has it! In the back of the store, there's a spiral staircase leading to the second floor - though it barely counts as one, sporting a hollowed center to view the first floor and vice versa. There are sliding ladders on some bookshelves, for the books higher up. It's a great place to go if you're looking for a good book to get lost in, or to meet new friends with similar interests!

Comforting Slashers During a Breakdown

Michael Myers

- Michael isn't prone to normal breakdowns, he gets more violent and lashes out a lot more

- When he feels like too much, he literally destroys everything around him might go out for a couple of kills too

- It's hard to bring him down to Earth, there's definitely a larger chance of you getting hurt in the process

- I think the best approach is to really be there for him either right before or right after he reaches a boiling point

- He'd still be in his feel feelings about everything, and sometimes what he needs is a solid hug

- Michael would feel a strange sense of vulnerability and it makes him uncomfortable. He usually strays away from physical contact, but for some reason he feels a weight lifted off of him when you wrap your arms around him

- Michael doesn't care for you helping him explain his feelings, it reminds him too much of his time with Dr. Loomis. It's better to just let the silence linger and let him relax in your embrace

- Sure it may not be the healthiest thing to let it all pass and never mention it again, but at least it could save someone's life (if you catch Michael just in time-)

Bo Sinclair

- Dare I say that Bo is the most self destructive out of the bunch

- I think he tries to hold himself to a high standard and set impossible goals, he stresses himself out constantly because of it

- Honestly he just wants someone to be gentle with him when he's breaking down

- While he is outwardly expressive, it's going to take everything for him to confront his feelings and let himself cry

- Bo and toxic masculinity go hand and hand like bread and butter

- Kiss him gently, hold him close, give him so much reassurance he needs it so much

- Tell him it's okay to cry, your shared room is now a private and safe space where he feels comfortable to do so

- Whispering to Bo that you love him just the way he is, that he shouldn't feel like he should go above and beyond to be loved will start the waterworks omg he will never be letting you go

Billy Loomis

- It's very easy for Billy to break down when things are out of his control and no where close to the night he has planned

- Leading up to it all, he becomes a lot more snappy and prone to make threats. And mid breakdown, he will be punching walls and screaming

- Everything festers to anger doesn't matter how he felt initially

- Billy prefers being left alone during these moments, it's embarrassing to him if you walk in on everything and it's very uncomfortable

- He always felt like he had to only rely on himself, so having help when it's not asked for or planned doesn't stick well to him

- I think comfort can happen in a very late stage of Billy breakdowns: self loathing

- After blaming everyone else, after taking his anger out on any and everything around him, there's a rare chance you'll see him feeling bad for himself and tearing himself apart

- That's when you can sweep in and just kinda baby him: sweep the hair out of his face, take care of his bloody and bruised knuckles, shower him with tenderness.

-It's where he's feeling the softest and he needss you

Adrien: [M'lady? Have you forgotten about Prince Ali's engagement ceremony? I'm waiting for you at the Town Hall. Please be quick, Chloé sat next to me since you weren't here.]

Adrien: [M'lady? Are you alright? Haven't heard from you for ages. Please call me as soon as you can.]

Adrien: [Marinette? I'm getting really worried now… your mum and dad also haven't heard from you, nor Alya. Where are you? Chloé won't leave me alone!]

Alya: [Girl? Adrien is very worried, where are you? I'm getting worried too…]

At the bottom of the Seine, a phone beeped with a message received and then switched itself off.

Marinette opened her eyes, a sharp pain spreading from the back of her head. She tried to say something but all she could let out was a muffled: "Mhhhf".

"Oh, you woke up. Alla buon'ora!(1)"

Marinette's eyes widened. She wiggled, desperately trying to move, but her body failed to follow her brain's request. That's when she realised she was tied up.

"Wiggling like the slimy little worm you are." The green in Lila's eyes seemed to sparkle as she smirked. She heard Marinette mhhhf'ing some more and her smirk widened. "So good that finally you've been reduced to the silence you deserve."

Marinette could hardly breathe. What happened? She remembered reading Adrien's text message that the place for the ceremony had changed and to meet him at some luxury boat moored at Port Debilly. She had reached the place, a strange man had let her in and…then nothing. The taste of the cloth that had been stuck into her mouth was overwhelming her. Her skin was all tensed around the tape that shut her mouth.

"Is she awake, sweetie?" The man who'd let her in the boat looked in from the door.

"She is, Jacques. Leave us alone a little longer. Then she'll be all yours," said Lila looking at him and the man smirked before closing the door behind him.

Marinette's heart went into overdrive.

"Amazing what you can achieve with flattery." Lila looked at her again, showing her a website that displayed the message she received from Adrien earlier. "And amazing what you can find on the internet. It was so easy…just flattering the right people and I got access to this fake SMS website. And Jacques…is the perfect pawn. He thinks I'll help him sign an exclusivity deal with Prince Ali for his cruising boats. Che imbecille. (2)" She cackled. "And now, it's the end of you. You won't prevent me from achieving my goals again." She slammed her hands on the table in front of her. "All my plans always ended up being no more than pipe-dreams, all because of you! I HATE you, Marinette. You'll pay for all the tears I've shed on my pillow at night."

Marinette wanted to tell Lila that this was going too far. This was much worse than threatening. This was kidnapping. Attempted murder. This was a criminal offence. As annoying and evil as Lila had always been, Marinette didn't expect that she would fall this low. But she couldn't say anything, she could only struggle more with the knots that were tying her arms and hands.

"Pointless of you to try to open those knots," said Lila when she saw her struggling with it. "Jacques was a sailor, he's an expert at knots of any kind. You won't free yourself. Whatever you do. And no superhero will find you here. Jacques will stay, to make sure nobody finds you until Papillon comes back." She patted softly on her cheek. "Yes, Marinette. Papillon wants you spared, to akumatise you. He thinks you'd be his best akuma. Un altro imbecille (3). You must die, and I will make sure you will, this time. This time you won't ruin my plans. I'll be the winner at the end and the real pipe-dream will be yours!" Her face lit up with an eerie light as she sneered. "Mors tua, vita mea(4), after all. You brought this on yourself."

Cackling, she moved to the door. "Jacques? I'm done with her. I'll go to Prince Ali's ceremony now, give me some time to talk to him, okay?"

"I'll make sure the cat won't find her, sweetie. Don't worry."

A wave of disgust shook Marinette's gut when Lila gave the man a quick peck on the lips. But as Lila closed the door behind her and the man kept staring at where she left dreamily, Tikki popped out of her shirt and looked at her with a determined frown.

"Don't worry, Marinette. We'll figure out something!"

All Marinette could do was dart her gaze towards one of the windows of the boat, but Tikki shook her head.

"I won't leave you alone."

Marinette closed her eyes and lowered her head.

"Any sign of her, Rena?" said Chat Noir to his communicator.

Chloé had been more clingy than she used to be in the bad times, but as soon as he'd managed to get rid of her, he transformed and started looking for Marinette. The ceremony for Prince Ali's engagement hadn't even started yet, but he didn't give a damn. It was unusual of Marinette to not contact anyone for hours, and his gut feeling told him she was in danger.

"No sign of her anywhere. She won't even answer her bugphone."

Chat Noir sighed. "I know. I've been calling her non stop for hours on both phones. I have a nasty feeling about this."

Carapace appeared near Rena on her communicator. "Don't worry, dude. We'll find her," he said before Rena hung up.

"Hope so, bro." Chat Noir looked at his baton with concern. It felt like a useless exercise to look for her in superhero form. Wherever she was, it wasn't in full sight. There was only one other thing he could do. He opened his communicator again and dialed Nathalie's number.

hi so i have a question !! do you know of any spells on protecting a relationship from external forces and negative energies ? if not fo you have any suggestions on what to use or do to create one ? thank u sm !!

I don’t normally answer spell requests, but I figured this might be a good opportunity to show how you can use a pre-made spell and deconstruct it if you need to adapt anything or make substitutions. So this post is about:

Deconstructing spells and making well-informed substitutions (and a love spell I guess)

The basic steps I’ll be walking you through are: reading through the spell as it appears in the book or online, identifying the purpose for each item or action, finding equivalent or more powerful items or actions as needed, performing the spell and knowing whether or not it worked. 

If you just want the fish then I guess you can read the first part and go home, but I’m giving you the “learn to fish” option (better deal, imo). 

(This spell is mine btw, so please don’t repost it anywhere. This also means it’s based on French Canadian folk magic, which might differ from your personal practice.)

The intent of this spell is: “These individuals are happy together and prosper, and are protected from hindering forces/energies.”

The spell:

- Two apples- One knife- One pack dry yeast (they’re usually about 7g)- 1.5 tablespoons of white sugar- 1.25 (one and a quarter) cups of warm water- 0.5 tablespoons (half) or 1.5 (one and a half) teaspoons- 1 tablespoon of oil- 3 to 3.5 (three and a half) cups of flour - enough twine or string to wrap around the apple, 100% cotton NOT synthetic (butcher’s twine for example)- Baking tray or bread mold- Oven

1. Before you start any kind of ritual, you want to cut both apples in half top down (vertical through the core). Don’t worry about perfection, it doesn’t matter, but you need to have this step done before you cast any kind of circle if that’s something you do. 2. If you have any kind of “pre-spell” activities such as casting a circle or cleansing your space, go ahead and do that. 3. Bring one half from each apple into the ritual space (”ritual space” as in wherever you do your thing, does not have to be an altar or anything of that nature… I do mine wherever is practical, in this case the kitchen counter) as well as the twine. Put the two halves together, wrap the twine around them three times and tie a knot. If you like to say something during your spells such as a mantra or a sentence setting your intent, to this while wrapping the apple and tying the knot. If short, repeat it three times. French Canadian folk magic often has short rhymes repeated during spells.4. You’re gonna bake some bread. You can use a different recipe than the one linked, and change the list of ingredients accordingly. When kneading, focus on your intent and the two people the spell is involving. There will be long pauses while you let the dough rise: what you do during that time doesn’t matter for the spell. The second time you let the dough rise, you need to put the apple into the center of the dough FIRST (so it is enclosed completely) and let the bread rise around it. Don’t worry if the bread rises funny or caves in the middle.5. Bake the bread with the apple in the center. Ideally you should use a bread mold, but you can just shape it roughly round and put it on a baking tray if you don’t have one. 6. Score a cross shape into the bread using your knife (straight sharp blades work best).7. Once the bread has baked and cooled, each party the apple halves are representing must eat a piece of the bread. Depending on the environment you’re in and the apple you used, you’ll have varying levels of edible bread. If your loaf looks roughly normal, you should be able to each eat from one extremity. The closer you get to the apple, the more chances there are that it’s gooey, undercooked, or mushy from the juices. It’s not bad for you, just kinda gross tasting. Feel free to eat it if you want. The more weird your bread looks, the more your center is sketchy. Wonky bread isn’t a bad omen and won’t affect your spell, it’s just physics and stuff. 8. Enjoy your magically enhanced relationship, and don’t forget that no amount of magic can help if there are too many mundane issues left unresolved.

Interlude:

Before you deconstruct a spell, it’s important that you determine whether or not the spell should be deconstructed. If you’re using a random spell you don’t know the source of, or something written by someone on the internet (like this one), you can usually make a significant number of (logical) changes and substitutions. 

However, in the case of spells that have centuries of history, such as spells found in old arcane texts and grimoires, the more you change the more likely you are to get an unpredictable result. Spells that have been passed down survive because they work as written, and every change will decrease it’s likelihood of success. Ideally, you want as many checks in the “keeping as is” column as possible, and very few checks in the “changes” column. Sometimes there are things you just have to modify because life has changed since the 1700s, and that’s fine, just make sure you’re changing only when necessary and using sensible substitutions. More importantly, be prepared to deal with any consequences that may arise. 

Deconstruction:

Here I’m going to give you the purpose and meaning behind each element of the spell. The next section will show you how to come up with substitutions.

• Apple: In French Canadian folk magic, it’s a symbol of love and unity. Each full apple represents the person as a whole, and we put the two halves together so they can come together. You want to avoid using only one halved apple, as that implies that each person is incomplete until they are paired with the other half, which can create codependency or abusive relationships. One tradition is to use a half with a stem to represent the male in the relationship, and a half without the stem to represent the female. This is obviously heteronormative and might not work for your situation, so in the substitutions section I’ll list some other options. You can also just ignore the stem situation completely, and just determine in your mind which is which. 

• Twine or string: The twine is representative of the relationship itself, keeping the two halves together. It’s all the good things in the relationship, such as communication, honesty, common traits, etc. We wrap the twine around the apple three times because the number 3 in French Canadian folk magic is used to “strengthen” a spell or intent. 

• Flour: Flour represents prosperity in the home. It does not represent excess. It is having enough to eat, to stay warm, to live happily and comfortably. The type of flour doesn’t matter.

• Other ingredients: Everything else is used as part of the bread making process, and has no significant meaning otherwise. 

• The joining of the apples step is explained pretty well already in the apples info, so I’m going to move on to the bread baking. Kneading the dough and preparing the bread are all symbolic of the time and work it takes to maintain a good relationship with someone, and are important steps if you’re able to do them. During kneading, you should be focusing on your intent for the spell. 

• Placing the apple in the center of the bread is to bind the symbol of the couple (the apple) with the symbol of prosperity and happiness (the bread). The water from both will mix, and water is like the “and” in your spell if it were a sentence. You’re saying “These individuals are happy together AND prosper”. 

• Scoring the bread with the cross is your symbol of protection from outside forces. Since French Canadian folk magic is heavily entwined with catholicism, the cross is a protective symbol. 

• Eating the bread can be considered both the activating of the spell, as well as the closing element. It is enforcing the properties as it is ingested by the people involved, and is symbolic that they have accepted the intent of the sorcier or witch. 

Substitutions: 

I obviously can’t possibly cover every single option here, but I’m going to do my best to give you a lot of suggestions that should give you a pretty good idea of what kind of changes you can make and how to adapt the spell to your abilities, correspondences, and what you have available to you. 

• The apples and twine can be substituted for anything else that would represent the individuals and a loving relationship. If your local folk magic has a symbol that is different from apples, you can absolutely use that instead. Likewise if you have a personal correspondence that is stronger to you, or tag locks for the individuals in question (just remember it’s going in bread, so hair might not be your best option here). 

• The stem situation, as I mentioned in the deconstruction section, is not a mandatory part of the spell. Nonetheless, I wanted to provide some alternate options. You can of course you two stemmed apples, two unstemmed apples, you can cut the apple into more than two pieces (so long as you can roughly fit them together, and you would use a corresponding number of apples), etc. Keep in mind that the stems don’t need to represent anything at all, and they can be unrelated to gender (for example, stem representing the taller person and no stem being the shorter one). You can make it whatever you want. If you would like the stems to represent gender, non-binary genders can be a bent stem, a half stem, an additional stem (just stick it in, don’t put glue on it please), whatever you want. Again, you can completely disregard the stems if it causes any kind of anxiety for you or if you’re like me and massively despise the binary implications of it. 

• If you can’t find cotton twine or don’t have cotton string, you can use anything else that would tie the two halves together. The important thing to keep in mind here is that it is going inside the bread, so you definitely don’t want to use synthetic fibers as they could melt in the oven and go into the bread (don’t eat that). The important thing is that there be something going around the apple holding the halves together. You could even use a long strip of dough from what you’ve kneaded. Another important thing is that you don’t do something that will go through the apples to keep them together, such as using toothpicks, as this has a different meaning and will change the intent of the spell. 

• The bread baking is a step that might be problematic for individuals who are not open about their practice, or who are physically incapable of making the bread because of the kneading, or multiple other reasons. If the issue is the kneading, you can use this no knead recipe instead.  If you’re dealing with any other issue for the bread step, you just need to find a substitute that would represent the same thing for you or for your culture. Some examples: using rice in place of bread, writing your intent to fill up an entire page of paper (or typing it and printing it out) and wrapping it around the apple, burying the apple outside, etc. If visualization is your only option, go for it. 

• Eating the bread is your activation step. If someone is allergic to gluten or has a dietary restriction, you can change the type of flour you use accordingly without changing the intent of the spell. If you didn’t bake bread, any alternative that feels to you like the intent of “the individuals involved accept the intent of this spell” will work. It can be as simple as them both holding the apple and reciting a line if you wrote one, or simply reciting the intent of the spell, etc. This step is going to be dependent on what you’ve already changed if anything. Ultimately, there should be an overall impression of completion afterwards. 

Counter-spell: 

You should always, always have a way to undo any spell that you’ve performed. I personally keep the twine somewhere safe, and will cut the twine in half or burn it if I need to reverse the spell. Alternative options would be to have a set of words as your counter-spell, or some other symbolic means of reversing the spell. Be careful that this information is only available to those involved with the spell, so no one wishing ill on the relationship can do any damage.

1 year blog anniversary ♡

So I made it to the one (1) year mark earlier this week !!!! And I can’t help but feel a bit emo… When I look back I feel like I’ve changed a lot, not only as a person, but as a writer. I can still remember the night I posted my first fic… How I sat there for half an hour and debated on whether or not to press ‘post’. My first ever story was barely 2k words, so I can’t help but feel like I’ve grown a lot… But honestly, there were times when I felt immensely dissatisfied with my writing, and times when I thought I lost the interest I had for it as well. I’m not sure if I’ve said this before, but I don’t get the opportunity to write fiction or write in English, period. So being on this blog has been a fun way to channel my creativity, but has also been difficult because I didn’t know anything about proper grammar, etc. I think that even if I were to close this blog, I’ll have learned a lot !! That’s why I don’t have any regrets - even if there are some moments I’d rather not have a repeat of dlfkjdfl

In hindsight, I think the most rewarding thing was to know that other people enjoyed my writing… Writers have the tendency to be too harsh on themselves, and I think that being on here has made me realize that I don’t need to meet impossible standards for my writing to be enjoyed by others. So thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has sent me nice messages, or left nice things in the reblogs… I don’t say it enough, but it means the world and brightens up my days by a mile !!!!!!

Also, I really want to thank the fellow writers on here who have given me encouagement and advice !!! There are a lot of people that I want to name, but in true Ave-fashion I’m fcking tipsy right now and I’m afraid I’ll forget people if I start making a list djkfkdfj but i’m making one anyways

“... waking up. Guys, s/he’s waking up!”

Your first rise to consciousness felt like surfacing from a drunken state. At first, it took all your effort to peel your eyes open - and then everything else kicked in all at once.

Staring at the ceiling of Richie’s kitchen, hard wood under your back, the cold sweat lacquering your entire body and, most of all, the agonizing pulses of pain radiating from what was left of your calf.

Your breaths turned to gasps, to groans of fear and pain, to strangled yells your throat was too dry to support. You registered fingers, grazing over your skin too close to your wound, and thrashed wildly, trying to kick them off.

“Don’t!” you tried to yell, but only the feeblest of croaks left your lips. “Don’t touch it...”

“Y/n. Y/n, look at me.” A head of curly auburn hair and pretty eyes swam before your tear-clouded vision. “You’ll be alright. Listen to me, you’ll be fine. We have to stop the bleeding.”

You bit your trembling lip and squeezed your eyes shut, feeling the unshed tears residing there spill and slide hot down your cheeks. Seeing with clear vision now, you spotted Eddie hunched up tightly against the wall, limbs locked together tight and face buried in his knees lest he see your ugly, bleeding wound. Richie hovered next to him, standing, uncharacteristically quiet, and almost no color in his face.

“Your parents?” you asked weakly, hating to do it, but needing to you.

Richie swallowed. “They’ll be out for a few more days.”

You nodded, but your stomach had no place for pity right now, not when the pain was this intense.

Finally, you saw Bill hovering over your leg. Around fifty medicine bottles and drug packets lay scattered like litter over the counter, but he touched each one with an uncertainty that made dread fill you.

Finally, Bill caved, and called over, “E-E-Eddie! I n-need your help over here!”

Looking like he wanted to vomit, Eddie slowly righted himself and walked over, dry-retching every time he saw the slowly blackening blood crusting around your wound.

“Alright,” the boy said faintly. “Get the fexofenad- the brown bottle with the blue cap.” Bill retrieved it and twisted off the lid. A strong smell of disinfectant rose from the bottle, and you whimpered and twitched in a strange sort of terror. “OK, now soak these cotton pads with it and clean the wound. We need to make sure it’s not infected before we wrap it up.”

“What about the bleeding?” you interjected, horrified. “It’s not just going to - to fucking dwindle to a stop. That thing almost tore my whole fucking leg off!”

Eddie and Bill exchanged quick glances. “Y-Y/n, uh... it - it probably f-feels bigger than it really i-is.”

“What does that mean?” Hysteria was beginning to rise, taking your words on the way to your mouth and flaying them, leaving only these high-pitched, panicked sound.

“He means it’s actually... kind of a small wound,” Eddie supplied nervously.

“Sm - fucking small?” You shook your head. “That’s impossible, I felt it, I - it’s teeth were -”

“IT’s played mind games before,” Mike supplied gently from somewhere you couldn’t see. “Maybe making you feel like you were going to die was just... adding to the fear.”

And, finally, the realization dawned on you, and the hysteria broke into a single sob of relief. “I’m not going to die?” you whispered, seeking confirmation from Eddie. For a boy who looked like his kneecaps would’ve given in five minutes ago, his smile was sure.

“Not unless Bill fucks it up spectacularly beyond his track record.” He reached for your hand, then quickly retracted it. “Sorry. I would take your hand but there’s... there’s blood all over it, so...”

You laughed, a breathless sort of laugh over in one exhale because there were too many feeling warring around in your body right now to spend time on just one, then hissed in pain as your wound began to sting,

Bill swiped the soaked cotton pads over the edges of the teeth marks, clearing up the blood that has crusted black, and then inside, over jagged flesh and torn muscle, making you twitch away and groan and gasp - but all the placebo agony from your first waking had turned tail and fled, leaving you with only this dull, pulsing pain like needles pricking into your skin.

“A-alright, it’s wiped. Sh-should we wrap it up n-n-now?” Bill asked, and Eddie nodded in affirmation. You hissed again as Bill, albeit gently, began to wind a long length of bandage gauze of your calf, layering it on thick and then tying it off with a rather spectacular knot, and that was it, over. The Losers Club breathed a collective sigh of relief, and you tried for sitting up.

Black dots swarmed your vision, and you groaned, groggily swaying on the spot until an arm caught your weight and helped you off your makeshift operating table. Stan supported you as you blinked away the darkness, and when you unhooked your arm from his shoulders with a murmured, “thank you,” he beamed in a way you’d never seen him smile, and that was as much a remedy as any packaged or plasticked drug could be.

You looked over at the table. Your wound was small, true, but holy shit did it ever bleed a lot. Blood dripped from the sides of the wood and also made a grotesque bread-crumbs trail to the door of kitchen, twining round the corner and out of sight. You swallowed.

Richie was the first to speak. “Look, I know my folks are negligent assholes and everything, but...” he cast a long look over the state of the place. “I’d rather not poke a sleeping dragon in the dick, y’know?”

A nervous laugh broke forth from everyone in the room, and fifteen minutes following, there was a pail filled with hot water, a tub of sponges and cloths that Eddie gagged to touch - “do you even wash these, Richie?!” - and everyone was at work.

You helped to scrub down the table with a hard, bristly brush, while Ben took the other die. In your panicked flails after waking up, you’d managed to get gore on the wall a meter to your left as well, which Beverly and Bill tackled together. Eddie, Stan and Mike had disappeared out the kitchen to presumably scrub away the trails of blood from the front door and the driveway, and even Richie - no, especially Richie - was helping, on his knees and scrubbing at those blood spats on the floor until they were way past clean. His glasses kept sliding down the bridge of his nose, and his skin held a sheen of sweat from the effort.

You listened to the sounds of your friends all over the house, and grinned. You’d never been so happy whilst cleaning up blood before.

The seven of you sat in a lopsided circle, in the grassy top of the cliff overlooking the quarry. Beverly was plucking daisies from the grass and making a deft flower chain with it, and you lay horizontally with your head in Stan’s lap and your legs sprawled over Richie, who kept tickling your toes until you kicked him in the chest.

“Guys?” you piped up tentatively, and in the slightly bored silence, all eyes turned to you. You swallowed, sitting up and knotting your hands together in your lap. “I just... wanted to say I - thank you. For the other day, and taking me to Richie’s house and patching me up and... everything.”

Richie scoffed. “What, like we’d just let you bleed out on the floor?”

You shrugged. “I don’t know. I wasn’t really thinking clearly...” you trailed to a stop. “When - when IT appeared for you guys... was he just a clown? Or did he - did he take other shapes too?”

To your misguided relief, Eddie, Bill, Mike and Stan nodded in affirmation.

“I - I saw a leper,” Eddie stammered. “Mike saw his parents, Stan saw that freaky woman in the painting in his dad’s church and Bill... Bill saw Georgie.”

You swallowed, feeling tears rise to your eyes.

“Why?” Beverly called from across the circle. “What did you see?”

“I saw...” You gathered yourself. “You. All of you. Dead, dying. And I couldn’t - I couldn’t do anything. It’s like... “Yeah,” Bev echoed softly. “We love you too.”

You smiled, and your cheeks were wet with tears again but it didn’t do to wipe them away, not with everyone gradually piling atop of you in a gaggle of limbs and soft hands and hair pressing into one another in a circus parody of a hug.

Amidst the labyrinth of your friends, you vowed to never feel lonely again.

Starfall's Helpful Locations Guide 2 !

We thought It'd be helpful if we discussed some of the locations you can visit during your stay in Starfall, that way you can plan ahead for sites you wanna see! So have this 'lil guide with descriptions of each place and what they have to offer! (This post includes places from the Suburbs! Check our other post for City Sites!)

Sweet Dreams Pastries

If you're a fan of sweets, try checking out this quaint corner bakery! Its exterior isn't anything extravagant - the building is painted in black with detailing in the same color to give subtle texture, there are many large windows for natural lighting, and a sign sits above a cute striped awning, decorated heavily with flora, giving a modernized twist on a classic look. The interior is quite small, as it wasn't intended to be a place for sitting and dining; though recently, they've taken customer feedback and have added a few tables and seats inside, more on the patio. Murals were also painted inside to add some flair against the white walls. The pastries aren't particularly eye-catching, yet somehow Sweet Dreams makes them taste far better than any other place. People joke that there has to be a secret ingredient since there's no way it's possible for something as simple as a chocolate chip cookie to taste so different and sweet!

Among The Stars Casino

Gambling isn't a child's game, so if you're looking for games with high stakes and big prizes, Among The Stars Casino is your place to go. Being around for years, the casino has built a reputation. One might be shocked when first seeing the outside; a 3 story-bricked building, old detailing, and a giant awning decked in neon lights, the name included, would make anyone think it wasn't a high-end casino like the rumors, but once inside, it lives up to the claims. The interior is a complete 360, with a large walkway as you enter through the doors, fancy carpet lining the floor with tiles where it's not, murals painted on the ceilings with white trimming highlighting them, chandeliers hanging from ornate holders, and on either side of the walkway are tables upon tables for playing to your heart's content. The two other floors are similar in appearance, but there is a mixture of open tables and slot machines rather than only tables; there's also a bar on the second floor! There's talk of a basement floor, how only VIPS are allowed down for special games with special prizes, but it's a silly rumor that's meant to rack in VIP membership money.. right?

Mystic Lagoon

Uncovering secret spots is something any explorer can do, but if you're looking for a real challenge, try finding this Mystical Lagoon. Hidden deep within the forest, losing your way while searching is easy; the signs of whether you made it or not are nearly non-existent; a tip.. if you notice vines, thorny ones, sticking together to form a make-shift wall, trying to hide something, you're most likely on the right path. To know if you've found the lagoon, not a random, hidden pond, the biggest sign will be the entrance; there'll be a bridge - unlike the other spots - old, a bit dilapidated, and missing a few stone bricks. Reeds shroud the sides of it, while vines and moss cover every inch. Past the bridge, under leaves and past tall reeds, there'll be the first bit of the lagoon, colorful flora surrounding the area, while drooping trees and flowery vines cover it. Following the path deeper, the light that seeped through the thin openings of the leaves disappear; it's like an eternal night, and the plants and vines glow like stars. Even then, a feeling of unease surrounds it; maybe that's why larger animals won't travel deeper, or maybe it's 'cause of that large thing hiding under the murky waters.
