River Nevaeh Goddard, a nonbinary 17-year-old, was found dead in their boyfriend’s house earlier this month. Goddard’s boyfriend, 20-year-old Shane Curry, was charged in connection with their death after telling police that he had stabbed them with a sword. According to Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents, Goddard was nonbinary and used she and they pronouns.

On April 3, 2024, police were called to Curry’s home in Stow, Massachusetts for a well-being check, per a press release from Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office obtained by local outlet MassLive. Although Curry stopped officers from coming inside the home for nearly two hours, when police finally entered, they found Goddard dead inside and arrested Curry, taking him to a local hospital for evaluation. Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents reports that the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children had listed them as a missing child since April 2022, when Goddard was 15.”

Note: As a result of the antiblack racism that often gets perpetuated in these circumstances by my fellow white lgbt+ people, I am going to explicitly ask that you do not use “rest in power” in the notes of this post. I have grey hairs on the side of my head. Not everyone I know gets them this early. But with my experiences, I can say I’ve lived.

20 is so old but 20 is so young.

And many of my siblings will never get the chance to flourish. To grow grey hairs, that is. Or even to grow old.

I don’t know my expiration date, but I am blessed to have lived this long.

Me, my brothers, my sisters, my siblings— They want us all gone. Eradicated, whatever word you choose. They want us gone.

Don’t forget about me when I’m gone.

Keep our stories alive. No, scratch that—keep us alive.

We are not scary and we don’t want to harm your children.

Some of us are children, were children, and will continue to be children.

I want to have a full head of grey hair, and a partner to sit beside me in a withered rocking chair.

We are not going anywhere.

It's ironic that for the Panhellenic exams the essay topic was "feminism" and in less than two months two women in Greece have been murdered

One of them, Anastazja (age 27), was probably raped and then murdered. She came from Poland to Greece to work for the summer and her body was found naked close to a lake.

I saw a man on the TV saying she had an "escort app" on her phone, as if this gives men the right to rape and murder her

The murderer was Googling shit like "how to get rid of bodies" and I think he cut/or burned her fingers so they couldn't recognize her. The authorities also found some fucked up shit on his history related to rape- porn.

I dont know much on Anna's (age 46) case but I know she was murdered cause she existed. She came in Greece from Cuba to live free and was murdered cause she was a trans woman. She was found murdered in her apartment. She was wounded probably by a knife

Also since she was found dead, she has mostly been misgendered in media as "man found dead" etc

Also since I mentioned the exams at the beginning, I should add that someone who murdered his wife some years ago was also giving those same exams

Her name was Caroline (age 20) and she was murder by her husband "who was a pilot and a good guy" in their home. She also had a newborn daughter at the time. He planned the whole thing to look like a robbery, even tied himself up and all

When I just saw this information I couldn't stop crying thinking about it, and now my heart aches. They were the same age as me, I know for a fact like any other teen they dreamt of their future, who they would want to become, what to achieve, create, wondering if they meet those in the future they can call friends, wondeting if it'll get better when they grow up, maybe wished to leave that terrible place or maybe wanted to stay. How could anyone let this happen, why were they discharged from hospital so easily? And the school, we all know why. I hate to think about how, even with all the progress made, these things still happen.

But I also blame the government, the school, and even those bigoted online accounts that teach their followers hate. In this case LibsOfTikTok, who targeted the teacher of this school, who supports lgbtq+, so they had to leave their position. It must have been the push for this to happen. I think their tiktok account has been thankfully deleten. But i have no idea about Twitter or any other. Please check and mass report them if it still exists. Hey, your blog is pretty big so could you please help spread awareness for Jacob Williamson? He was murdered (hate crimed) last summer, but there's only like 15 posts about him on here. He was a trans man, he was 18, and he died before he could start hrt or even consider surgery.

This is unfortunately the first time I've heard of this case as well. Unfortunately, a lot of crimes against our community are often kept quiet and are swept under the rug.

I didn't see an update on whether the people who murdered him were brought to justice or if they were kept for questioning, but nevertheless, it really feels like there can be no justice in cases like this.

RIP Jacob Williamson.

Tee Arnold, a Black transgender man also known to his friends and family as Lagend Billions, was shot in Hallandale Beach, Florida on April 3. Arnold died from his injuries in HCA Florida Aventura Hospital on April 7. He was 36 years old.

According to ABC affiliate WPLG, Arnold was shot near a shopping complex at around 1:30 a.m., and was transported to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in critical condition. He died four days later. Police told WPLG that they do not believe the shooting was a hate crime, but rather an ‘isolated incident,’ adding they had identified a woman who knew Arnold as one suspect. In a Facebook post on the night of April 1, just over 24 hours before the shooting, Arnold wrote that someone had placed ‘a reward on [his] head’ and said they wanted to kill him.

Arnold attended Miami Central Senior High School and went on to study at Florida Memorial University, a Baptist and historically Black university (HBCU), according to his social media profiles. In social media posts reviewed by Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents (PLC), friends and family mourned Arnold’s ‘greatness, laughter, and good energy,’ recalling his compassion and willingness to help during difficult times.”

Nex Benedict was a indigenous trans nonbinary teenager. Their head was beaten against the floor in a bathroom stall. Less than 24 hours later, they died, most likely from undiagnosed head trauma. Conservatives say they want to, "protect the children", where was the protection for Nex? That's the thing. There wasn't any. Nex died. And many more trans, queer, and nonbinary minors will if we don't step up and do something. What happened to Nex has and will happen to queer folk around the globe. Say their name.

Edit: I didn't expect this to get much attention, but thank you everyone. What alot of people, "forget" to mention was that Nex was two spirited, which means they were indigenous. The fact that I wouldn't have heard about this if I didn't have Tumblr is absolutely revolting. News needs to be covering this. But what are Republicans doing?
