Hya! I love your art and have been following you for ages now from different accounts, you and a bunch of other artists have broken me out of art block, and helped me with with my depression. So if it's not weird to ask for the LGBTQ+ request,I was wondering if you can do angor rot x gunmar enemies to lovers trope? (Headcanons, gunmar is pansexual, and angor is demise sexual:)) thank you itsmerb for being a wonderful and talented artist! And happy pride month!!
Thank you so much for the kind words! It makes me unbelievably happy to know I've been a help in your life one way or another, and I'm glad that you're improving bit by bit.
I originally planned to do a much simpler image (gunmar holding angor by the throat, angor looking smug, maybe?) but I couldn't figure out the angle, so... now they're nice and cozy!
I sadly didn’t had much time but I am currently on chapter 10 and I must say...
I LOVE IT.
The writing is good, the characters act like in the show (well..with those special circumstances) and I like the way that the story goes!
Although I do not ship Strickmar but I still love this because Strickler and Gunmar actually act like they should! (I must say the fluff is still cute)
Anyways... I’ve actually read the 'spin-offs'? I don’t know how to call them but the small storys that play before/during 31 Days, they are also good written!
(And I love how Blinkys brother just wanted to make him mad by drawing or writing things into his books-... Or the Emu chapter, god that was funny. Aaaand Stricklers card that he send to Barbara I can't, It's so dorky and cute and so much in character! And Gunmar 'protecting' his mate is actually also cute-)
My thoughts about how Trollhunters handled changelings
The depiction of the changeling oppression in Trollhunters makes me uncomfortable. On one hand, I appreciate what the writers want to convey-that changelings despite appearing evil at first glance are victims of their situation and forced to be evil to survive. Real minorities are often forced to do bad things for survival irl, so I can respect Trollhunters for teaching children this lesson when kids show villains are usually one-dimensionally evil. However, some part of me feels uncomfortable with how it was depicted. One reason being that I dislike fantasy racism metaphors on principle because they're usually not done well or feel awkward, another being that I prefer villains who can serve as power fantasies, and the changelings being motivated out of fear and looked on as lesser dampens this fantasy somewhat, plus I prefer villains who are monsters to be terrifying and monstrous, which is dampened if they are too sympathetic. Another major reason is because feel weird because I like and enjoy the Gumm Gumm characters but since they belong to the "oppressor class" in relation to their treatment of changelings liking them makes me feel vaguely guilty, even when I know that's illogical and baseless. Like yeah I know Gunmar/Bular/Usurna aren't equal to real people who have taken part in oppression, but my mind feels confounded even by the idea that its possible for some people to relate to how the changelings were treated from their own experiences.
My realization regarding Gunmar's escape from the darklands
I just had a fridge logic realization regarding Gunmar attempting to escape the darklands.
So, without the intact Killahead bridge only small items can enter the Darklands through fetches, tiny portals that only allow items no larger than an infant. However there is a way to get around this:
the trolls use fulminators to shrink items. It even works on living things, as demonstrated by Jim. Gunmar and the gumm gumms don't need any killahead bridge; all they need to do is to first build a fulminator in the darklands, shrink themselves and then return to normal size on the way back.
The materials necessary for building the fulminator might be too large to pass through, but then you could build one big fulminator, shrink the items neccesary and pass them through a fetch. Problem solved.
