The closer Edward gets, the clearer it is that the short time the guards had him was occupied with something. His lip is split at the side, blood smeared over his bottom teeth. A bruise is slowly coming in at his temple on the opposite side. But most concerningly, there is an angry puncture wound in the side of his neck, and his eyes are a fathomless black. "Shit," Izzy swears, his own eyes widening as he presses himself - painfully - harder into the stone at his back. "Fuck." Ed after smoking enough on his pipe for it to alter him is calm, sleepy and a little horny, but Izzy can't imagine their captors have been so kind as to give him something of the poppy. It could be anything, do anything. Hurt him, or make him hurt Izzy more than he intends. Izzy's shoulders pop, his elbows strain, but there's nowhere further to go. Edward's hand closes around Izzy's throat, stopping Izzy's breathing for a moment even though the touch is oddly gentle. His gloves are missing, his bare skin hot against Izzy's. Izzy thinks he can feel both of their pulses pounding at the side of his neck. "Fuck," he swears again, this time his voice coming out twice as raspy, half-breathless. It's been a long time since Edward stood this close to him, even longer since he's done it so… non-violently. His grip is firm, possessive, but it doesn't hurt. The warmth of his body seeps into Izzy head to toe, blankets him completely. He's swamped by him, even more so crowded into this musty little corner. Edward hooks his foot round Izzy's ankle and pulls, tugging Izzy's legs out from under him. He catches Izzy behind the knee so that he doesn't go down too hard, so that he lands mostly on his ass, sparing his bound arms. The strangeness of that doesn't fully register to Izzy, given how Ed maintains the pressure of his other hand around Izzy's neck as he follows him onto the ground. "No, wait, Edward, fuck!" Izzy tries again, his words coming faster, higher in his throat. "I didn't, Captain, I swear! I swear." Ed's hand comes away from Izzy's neck finally. Izzy gasps, shamefully loudly, but he knows better than to be relieved just yet...

Hell yeah!

Raymond’s trans, he transitioned socially fairly young (young enough that Terran never knew him as anything but Raymond), and I've so far shown it in him mentioning his ears being pierced and taking their-world equivalent of HRT. I have a page in my notebook from when I was first thinking of if him being trans made sense and it did! Raymond is... god what's his role, it's so much... catalyst, source of moral conflict, love interest, best freind, source of greif, champion of good.

Syndicate doesn't have any enbies so far-- well, Jodi's rommate is nonbinary but they aren't even a character. However, I have a lot of enbies in Second Chance-- I seem to love she/theys and he/theys in there.

First if all, gods in general are genderless, but Ardisci, god of knowledge who's begun to feel more human than god found themselves to be leaning towards nonbinary-girl. Nit positive what Ardi's role in this version would be yet, but they get used by an MC at one point but provide valuable information and insights at others. Ava, the MC's crush, I'm thinking will discover themselves to be a demigirl/similar too, Ava is not just a love interest but provides Chrys safety and stability. Korin I spontaneously decided was he/they, he's a researcher for the sort-antagonsits and reflects a lot of Russell’s characteristics, and help at a key point in Russell’s arc. And a freind of Russell, Halyn, goes by ze/zem, Halyn provides Russell safety when he has no one else but also pushes him.

In Immortal Souls, Logan is bigender (they/them), and a family freind of Maera, Cassia, is a trans woman. Logan is a main character, one of 3 people the story follows, and Cassia gave a younger Logan the courage to be gnc.

A few other random stories also have some trans/nb characters... some I'm not as sure about though.

Excellent concept!!! I didn't know this is a thing! Also thank you for asking! I do have trans, nonbinary and gnc characters!

I will give couple of prominent examples from WIPs I've most worked on recently, since I have large casts and listing all would be too much.

Vanaróu (Vaan) from Golden Maiden, Silver Bride is a bi trans man. He's an important secondary character and the LI of one of the POV characters. He's a veere (they are basically demigod race) and a definite himbo warrior sage. The main conflict of the story was started between two veere clans, Urvins and Caiens (Vaan's clan), which escalated to a massacre of the Caiens by Urvins, leaving on Vaan and his sister. Vaan later kicks off the events of the story by murdering a wife of an Urvin lord.

Ainur from In The Name Of Violence is a bi gnc genderqueer woman and also the MC. Any pronouns work for her and she mixes them too in her internal dialogue. Her presentation is often androgynous, sometimes very masculine, and she feels seen when people get confused about her gender, though she'd described herself as woman adjacent. She's a former assassin and current private detective. Her life is a big mess; her former crime family is out to kill her, her father figure is an undead monster and mental health is deteriorating again.

Corinna from In The Name Of Violence is a trans lesbian. She's Ainur's ex-girlfriend and second in command in her former crime family, who is hunting her. Corinna's mother is the commander and most infamous crime lord in the city, and her brother's murder is the central mystery. She occupies a sort of ambiguous antagonist and occasional ally space in a very femme fatale way, which fits her vibe. She has a very complicated and co-dependend relationship with her mother and her motives are often shrouded in mystery.

Voji from again In The Name Of Violence is non-binary gay (they/he) and an important side character. They are an assassin for another competing crime family. They are one of the suspects in the murder mystery the story centers and the homoerotic enemy to the other crime family's shapeshifting undead assassin (Ainur's father figure).

Thoughts at the bar this Friday. I also started reading Pageboy, and although it sometimes hits close to home, it's giving me some good gender-affirming feelings. Elliot Page and I have a roughly 2-inch height difference.

I have SO MANY different trans headcanons for Izzy omg. i love the idea of izzy - and everyone it's relevant to - just never actually "coming out" or having like Official before-and-after type transitions or any of that. like. he just, like, grows his hair out a lil and changes pronouns and that's it that's the whole Thing. no one even remotely comments on it. maybe because ed adapts to it so readily everyone else just kind of assumes izzy's done this before. diversity win.

i also love amab genderqueerism of any and all kinds, and izzy is such a lovely choice for it.

This Thursday, at long last, I have an appointment booked to discuss HRT!! I don't expect anything to come of it unfortunately but it's still better than doing nothing

#my doctor is a real one and my mum is great #the only roadblock is my father 😞 #depending on how things go at the doctor -- #if i have a diagnosis for gender dysphoria already then i may bring the permission application for starting hrt from the appointment #but if i don't it will be a much longer process and ill have to go to wherever for counselling (a process my dad won't need to know about) #-- i will wait til friday night to ask him about it. and maybe have a bag packed to spend the night at a friend's #not that i wouldn't be welcome in my house just that the worst part of all our previous debates was slinking back to my room #i just craved space all those times and i doubt that's changed in the past year or so where neither of us brought up the whole trans thing #anyway. we'll see. i have no expectations but i have a shred of hope #and either way i get to miss most of my science class lol #anyway i have mentioned this in another rant post but it's just. yeagg it's something #on a more positive note i think one of my fish is pregnant #or deathly ill #hopefully pregnant
