Ok but I kinda wish Usagi was in the Cass Apocalyptic series because Usagi vs Tiny Angry Tello would be gold

The Turtle & Coriander "Satisfaction"
The guidebook says "The turtle and coriander calls us to be satisfied with what we have been given or what we have achieved. It invites a moment of rest and reflection. Perhaps due to Aesop's fable, "The Tortise and The Hare", turtles are symbols of patience and good health. In this fable, the slow but determined tortoise wins its race against the speedy but distracted rabbit. The turtle triumphs by pacing himself, illustrating the adage: "Slow and steady wins the race." Similarly, in the Victorian language of flowers, coriander indicates concealed worth, reminding us that things may not always be what they appear. In other words, a dedicated tortise who puts in the work can achieve just as much- if not more than- the swiftest rabbit."
You need to pace yourself. Things may not be happening as quickly as you want, but sometimes that's just how life is. Slow down, and enjoy your time now. You'll want to save your energy for when the time really comes to start moving quickly. You don't always have to rush or force things. You can simply go with the flow.

I just realized that a lot of Game Grumps comedy is like the Tortise and the Hare.
Arin is the hare: he’s often cocky and brash about his skills because he’s “the video game boy” and that often costs him an easy victory
Dan is the Tortise: steady and calm, often times one-upping Arin solely because he ain’t showing off.

The moral of the story "the tortise and the hare* is not that slow and steady wins the race. It's don't get cocky/overconfident like the hare did.

You know, that episode made me realize that Marrow really is Harriet’s impulse control. In another way, he makes her take things slow and steady (which is kinda supported by their semblances), like the tortise to her hare. Which I also think means if he’s not around, Harriet will commit a war crime
Harriet almost committed a war crime WITH him there.

ive heard of the story of how the tortise beats the hare in a race
Precisely. And how did the tortoise win the race? Not by rushing into things. Things take time and patience if you want a particular outcome. As a medic I have learned that the hard way many, many times. Even now I struggle with patience once and a while. Kaon wasn’t built in one cycle.

The Tortoise and The Hare: When The Race Is Over [slight gore warning!]
As he rushed to the finish line, he saw with his own two eyes that he lost. The hare was known to be the fastest animal in their little town named Junebug. To lose to a tortoise was losing his pride. If I hadn’t gone to sleep. He thought to himself. As the animals cheered for the tortoise Hare was left alone. But he wanted to be alone. He walked back to his burrow with shame and knew that he would have to deal with his family’s wrath. He opened the door hesitantly and was waiting to hear his parent’s disapproval. “Hare.” His father said in a low voice. You could hear the growling in his voice. “Yes, Father?” Hare responded with his head down. “I am disappointed in you on many levels. Have you no pride in the family name?” His voice grew louder with each word he spoke.
“I do! I…” Hare wanted to say so much but couldn’t. It’s because of that pride I failed. He thought to himself. “What?!” But his father wasn’t a mind reader. “To lose to a tortoise? You must not have any pride in yourself!” His father’s lecture went on for an hour and Hare stood there as his father yelled and stomped around the room. Hare’s mother was in the kitchen ignoring the scene.
“Go to your room. No dinner for you!” His father finally concluded. “What?! But-” “GO. TO. YOUR. ROOM!” His father exclaimed. Hare’s mother turned her head slightly towards her husband and child. Hare didn’t say anything and just went to his room. This must be my karma for always bullying Tortise. Hare thought to himself as the tear formed in his eyes. He was only 15 years old. The next morning, Hare’s shame didn’t end there. His mother slid a plate of dinner for Hare in his room last night so at least he didn’t feel completely alone.
Hare hopped his way to school and as he made his way downtown, he heard murmurs from the other herbivores. Shut up… Hare’s thoughts became more unstable since that night. It’s already bad enough that his father put all this pressure on him. “How’s it feel to be a loser for once?” One of the whispers said. “He lost to Tortoise!” Another said. Shut up! His adrenaline was rushing through his body the angrier he got. You know nothing! “What a loser.” “SHUT UP!” Hare yelled at one of the kids. It was Jimmy the Rex Rabbit. “What do you know Jimmy? Nothing!” He got in Jimmy’s face. “Back off of me!” Jimmy said, pushing Hare back. With all the pent-up frustration Hare had inside of him, it didn’t make him hesitant to punch Jimmy in the nose.
There were gasps then a silence. Hare was on top of Jimmy continuously punching him. Even as his knuckles bleed, he wouldn’t stop. His mind was rushing and everything was loud. He was never a fighter. He was all bark and no bite. Most of the time at least...One thing that was clear to Hare was his hatred for his father. Leave me alone! PUNCH! I just wanna be normal! PUNCH! “I HATE YOU!” PUNCH! Jimmy’s face was bloody along with both Hare’s and Jimmy’s clothes. Everything was still except for Hare. He was panting and felt as if he was looking at himself.
“What is going on out here?!” The principal, Mr. Cross(a gorilla) was walking outside, but due to his monstrous weight, it was more of a stomp. Everyone was looking around. Hare stood up, his legs wobbled from the shock. What have done? “Mr. Willis!” Mr. Cross bellowed. He deserved it. Mr. Cross walked towards Hare. Hare sees Tortoise. No...Hare turns his body. The fear in Tortoise’s eyes is shown. It’s his fault. Just as Mr. Cross saw everything, Hare said in a cold voice with murderous intent, “Tortoise...Let’s hove a rematch.”
They stood at the start line. The same track. The same racers. The same crowd. But even though they were the same animals, they still weren’t the same. I’m not doing this for you anymore. This is personal. They readied themselves. Tortoise was shaking more than he did last time. He knew he only won by a fluke, no way would it happen again. “I’ll see you at the finish line,” Hare said. “Maybe,” Hare said. The gun blew and Hare took off. Tortoise, just like last time, was still moving his leg. Hare finished the track but he wasn’t finished.
As I said, this is personal. Hare continued running until he was at his father’s race track. “What are you doing here?!” His father yelled. He didn’t respond. “So now you’re ignoring me?!” “Shut up,” Hare said his head lowered. But not from shame, but because he knew that if he looked at his father, nothing would stop him from attacking him.
“What did you say to me?!” “Let’s race.” He said. His father finally stopped yelling. “What makes you think that you can defeat ME?” Hare’s father poked Hare on his chest with his huge meaty finger. “Because I know you. Because I know myself.” Hare said. “We can do it now. In front of all of your students.” Hare said. He finally stared into his father’s piercing red eyes. His father smirked then chuckled then laughed. “It will be great to beat you! This will show you your place.” His father said.
“But, it isn’t a race if there’s nothing at stake.” His father said. “I knew you’d say that. If I win, you’ll never run again.” “And if I win?” “I’ll lose my family name. Losing all my power and will be shunned by everyone.” Hare’s father smirk became a devilish grin. “Deal.” “Then let’s get to the start line,” Hare said as he walked to the starting line. One of the students held the racing gun. “On your marks...Get set...GO!” Bang. Hare thought as he stood still and his father ran ahead.
“Why aren’t you running?” The kid asked. “Because slow and steady wins the race.” After thirty seconds Hare began to jog. If he’s anything like me, he’ll make the same mistake I did. He looked at the trees. His pride will best him. Hare took his time and kept enough self-control. He kept his goal in mind and kept jogging. While jogging, he heard his father. “HAHAHAHAHA! I knew he was terrible, but man! How slow can he be?!” His laughter echoed through the forest.
“It’s a nice day. I’ll take a rest and wake up when I hear him coming.” He said as he took a seat against the tree. I knew it. Hare tiptoed across the field past his father. Well...Not yet. He grabbed something for a nearby bush. “It looks like you lost after all.” He swung the metal on his father’s legs with all of his strength. His father yelled in pain. “HARE?!” He was discombobulated and angry. “What have you done?!” He yelled at his son. “You lost. You can never run again. This is your punishment.” Hare said right before he swung the metal on his father’s legs again. “AHHHHHHH!” His father screamed in agony grabbing his legs. “You were never my father,” Hare said swing the metal at his father’s legs, hitting his hands. There was a crack sound that was different from the others.
“What have you done?!” Hare’s dad yelled with blood running through his pants and out his hands. “Retribution,” Hare said before tossing the metal into the river that was behind the same bush he placed the metal. He walked away, leaving his father alone in the woods screaming.
Hare walked through the finish line and was proud of himself. Everyone was in shock and applauded Hare. “How did you do it?” One of the reporters asked. “Years of patience is all it takes.” “So wise!” One of the people in the crowd said. I can deal with him when the race is over.

I’ve done it now, lads
Tumblr media
Say hello to my My Hero Academia OC! After way too long planning this, then sketching it in a day, then letting it sit for weeks, and finally speed-running to the final version over the course of the afternoon - I present yet another anxious Mom friend character!
Miu is a kind and warm second year who is training as a rescue hero, primarily for natural disasters like earthquakes. Her quirk is The Tortise and The Hare, which allows her to shift into an anthropomorphic form of either a tortise or a hare. These give her the natural benefits of these animals, such as increased speed, senses, strength, or defense, as well as the natural drawbacks, such as decreased speed and intense animal instincts to run, hide, eat, and sleep. The primary drawback of her quirk is that any time she spends in one form must be recharged before she can use the other. So if she spends 5 minutes as Tortise, she has to rest for 5 minutes before she can shift to Hare.
Her hero name is Bunny Hop, though other names that were considered include Alice Rabbit, Turtleduck, and Loggerhead. Her costume is designed to be welcoming, cute, and easily visible for rescue situations. The material is flexible because of how her body mass shifts, especially in her legs and feet, which can change in shape and size. She has a zippable slit in the back of her suit for either of her tails to come through, and her hair is loosely pulled back so her rabbit ears can easily pop up. She has lots of pockets for snacks and first aide materials.
I gave her a pretty generic backstory about being bullied as a child due to her “prey animal” characteristics, especially her rabbit-like traits. As a teenager and adult, she faces much more harassment based on the assumed “mating” instincts of her Hare form. Miu is very open about defending herself and other women from this kind of harassment, which is another one of her goals as a rescue hero.
