The Lost and the Jammed
by Tom Mecredy
[Print & PDF]
The Lost and the Jammed is a three stat, high lethality dungeon-crawling game filled with strange and esoteric firearms, wandering gunslinger-mystics and high-calibre monsters threatening to overwhelm the last strongholds of civilisation. Written and produced by Tom Mecredy and Zachary Cox. The Lost and the Jammed presents a uniquely twisted roleplaying experience, taking a dark fantasy setting, such as Warhammer Fantasy, the Witcher or Dark Souls, and mixing with the gunpowder gonzo of Enter the Gungeon.
Players step into the waterlogged boots of the Flotsam, mercenaries and adventurers drawn to the Blighted Lands by the promise of plunder. When the Old Kingdom’s mancers unleashed the cataclysm that broke the world, they left devastation in their wake. The Blighted Lands are all that remain, the last bastion of humanity clinging to survival in the skeletal remains of the Old Kingdom.
You’ll explore abandoned gun foundries, dilapidated war machines, and isolated settlements, encountering infernal demons, grotesque aberrations, and chanting cultists. Uncover the science and magic of the Old Kingdom and bend it to your will, helping humanity cling on in the face of utter annihilation.
This 108 page softcover A5 book was crowdfunded as part of Zinemonth 2022. It was created by Tom Mecredy and Zachary Cox, illustrated by Perplexing Ruins, edited by Cody Faulk and designed by Minerva McJanda. The cover was created by Chris Bissette. The map of the Blighted Lands was created by Fernando Salvaterra.

BBC Big Read List
Many years ago, I first started tallying the books from the BBC Big Read list, seeing how my reading and interests correllate. I don't take it as the "one truth" on which books are worth reading or "good", I just find it interesting which ones I agree with. Let's go!
Out of the BBC's "The Big Read" list from 2005, which ones did you read, plan to read or started to read, but didn't finish? The ones I read are fat, the ones I still want to read are in italics, the ones I started but didn't finish are crossed out and all the other ones I have either never heard of before or never wanted to read them.
1. The Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien 2. Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen 3. His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman 4. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams 5. Read: 57 Want to read: 60
Some of the books to read I know very little about except the title and that they're classics, some others I know a lot about (and I even have "Men at Arms" on my TBR pile for when the mood strikes me next). I like reading classics once in a while, but especially older ones I can't read too often, I need to be in the right mood for that style of writing.
The last time I updated this was in 2015 and I had read 44 and wanted to read 72 - so 15 books in 9 years xD Like I said, it's not a challenge or a goal to read all of them, just a convenient way of keeping track of which classics I want to read eventually.

Tagged by @all-rock-and-roll-is-homosexual and good lord I haven't done one of these in yonks!
Favorite color: Cobalt blue - deeper than Aquamarine, slightly brighter than midnight
Currently reading: Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks (because a certain Lord Anderson namedropped it as his favourite book.)
Last Song: Sleep 8 (Dream) by Tom Middleton but I'm not sure that counts as I was fast asleep when it was playing (it is an album literally designed to put you to sleep, an absolute blessing for insomniacs) - the last song I listened to consciously was Higher State of Consciousness by Josh Wink
Last series: honestly, I don't watch television? I know this is a massive failing on my part. If something's really worth it, I'll either get it on DVD or find it on YouTube years after it was fashionable.
Last film: The Third Wife directed by Ash Mayfair. I thought it was going to be more spicy and lesbian TBH? But it was slow and thoughtful and possibly the most beautiful cinematography I've seen in a long time
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Spicy (very un-British answer, I know) but I've also got a massive sweet tooth
Currently working on: Renovations on my flat. Yes, incredibly quotidian and tedious, getting flood damage and damp fixed in my kitchen and bathroom and the boiler replaced. My entire life is piled in boxes in my bedroom while the walls are ripped out and I'm staying in an incredibly noisy AirBNB directly on the South Circular (talk about a Picnic By The Motorway!)
I tag (god it's been so long since I've been on Tumblr I don't even know which of my mutuals are even active any more?) @black-lodge-gatekeeper @ingerarcik @scavengedluxury @kalluun-patangaroa @tiesandtea and anyone who sees this is welcome to consider yourself tagged and do it if you fancy.
