I’m doing my on repeat playlist since I don’t trust my actual everything playlist…plus you gotta talk about the song and I can’t do that with the hundreds of random music I saved because I sort of liked it…

The Rain - Smash Into Pieces. One of the few vent songs I play when mommy issues flare up lol…also I always love songs that use the sun as a goal, to finally feel it after years of darkness and cold. It goes hard.

Dreams Without a Future - Sabled Sun. Beautiful piano but it’s the title that really punches me. I can’t articulate it. Just let it sink in. Dreams without a future, hopes with no hope, yearning for what is forever out of reach. Consider that the song is part of a project about a dying, overindustrilaized earth and…

The Blood is Art - Pastelle. This is one of my main ship songs uhhhh so to spare everyone…I really enjoy the singer’s voice, she nails the ethereal and angelic, and hearing it with such angry lyrics and sharp turns in notes is really interesting. And I adore the ending, just haunting vocalizations that are seeped in regret and sorrow…

Pottle - Bengalfuel. For once I cannot wax poetic about an ambient song. It’s just really calming and relaxing, 10/10 noises.

Love You (When You’re a Mess) - Jadudah. found this song during a really lull era where I wasn’t finding any new good music so I became so obsessed. The guitar riffs go crazy. Also I found this song when I was first getting into my stupid ship so 😅

Island - Bengalfuel. This is from the same album as 4 so…still applies. Nice noises, I like it a lot more for having reverb and longer notes.

Wicked Game - Chris Isaak. Quintessential post-hang out song. I use it mainly to relax but still want something more song-like than ambient. Again, I love guitar, and the strumming in this is really something.

Your Eyes Open - Keane. Another thing I really love is unconventional instruments together. So I really enjoy how the piano is used alongside drums and vocals. And again, I really enjoy long notes which the vocals easily supply.

(I skipped a song because it was another BENGALFUEL ALBUM ONE) Into The Unknown - Starset. I actually used to hate this song haha. But then it grew on me. Did you know there’s piano in this too? You can only hear it with good headphones, buried in the chorus. But, starset has my favorite hard rock/metal guitar riffs, hence why they’re like…my #1 band. I paid $140 to get my albums signed 🤨

Secret of Life - Lord Huron. The chorus would help me reach like 20mph on my bike it went so hard. Also reminds me of one of my favorite OCs…I should really go back to writing…oh well.

I’m a chronic oc maker so I will keep the list short by only talking about the ones that people might encounter in WoW! (US - Wyrmrest Accord, say hi if you see me!!)

• Zhuklesh: He’s a dracthyr evoker who combats the difficulties of his creation and abandonment by Neltharion with the joyous whimsies of life. Though not a Dark Talon (and overall claiming neutrality), he tends to stick with the Horde over the Alliance because he enjoys the vibes that the Horde brings to the table. He’s curious, fierce, and proud. Finding his favorite color was an absolute delight to him, and he’s settled on an enjoyment of bright and gentle pinks such as the shades found streaking the sky at dawn. I didn’t have a song readied to associate with him but I’m making the snap decision to assign To The Sky by Owl City.

• Vildryc: A primal dragon from the ages of Galakrond and the War of the Scaleborn, he was meant to be elevated with the power of an Incarnate after Vyranoth was sealed in the Vault. However, he failed the ritual and was consumed by the ice, thought dead and left forgotten for thousands of years. When the Dragon Isles were awakened and flooded with mortal explorers, Vildryc was unintentionally freed from his icy prison. Now he’s trying to adjust to modern Azeroth while still seeking a way to carry on the war that is so fresh in his memory, unwilling to forgive the Aspects. If asked about his favorite color, he’d answer that it’s a vibrant violet. As for songs, I’ll go with either Frequency or Back To The Earth, both by Starset.

• Ael’thein Mirthheart / “Eyes”: Ael’thein is a blood elf who was aligned with the Illidari on Outland, where he worked in the Den of Mortal Delights. After surviving the raid on the Black Temple, he fled back to Quel’Thalas where he grew in popularity as a courtesan. Enough popularity that the magisters began sticking their noses into his business to ensure his minor levels of influence could be used to maintain Silvermoon’s peace and order. Ael’thein grew resentful and took a “vacation” that spiraled into landing him among the Blacktalon. Now he adopts the code name and title “Eyes of the Black Prince”, returning to Silvermoon to use his status to spy for Wrathion. Just to keep him up to date on important happenings, of course. His favorite color is very typical for a blood elf, being the bolder shades of red. I don’t have any songs picked out for him yet.

• Caedmus: My very sad old man. A draenei who lived long enough ago to remember fleeing Argus, he spent the following thousands of years growing angry with the constant fleeing of his people. Draenor was a home that he’d hoped would become permanent. Obviously that didn’t work out, and his rage finally exploded when the Exodar crashed, killing his wife, and he learned it was sabotage. Despite being heavily injured, he went to confront the blood elves responsible and promptly got slaughtered. Years later, he found himself waking in Acherus, no memories of his previous life present. Being a death knight has been a very unfun time for him and after gaining his free will, he’s taken to wandering Azeroth, a shell of his living self. He’ll claim not to have a favorite color, that it’s not something he’s put much thought into. There are many songs (a whole playlist even) for him but I am choosing It’s All So Incredibly Loud by Glass Animals.

• Zolduri: Once a troll of the Gurubashi and now vaguely of the Darkspear, she was the high priestess of Hir’eek long ago when Hakkar and the Atal’ai were rising to power. For speaking out against Hakkar and preparing to leave with the Darkspear, she got jumped one night and sacrificed to Hakkar. Later, she was raised as a zombie by the Atal’ai. She spent several centuries enslaved to their will until she was able to break free. Her faith in Hir’eek remains as strong as ever and she has taken to coping with the shame she feels at her undead state by devoting everything that she is and does to her loa. Recently, she’s also taken to watching over the Darkspear from afar, lending them aid under cover of night and always fleeing before she can be seen. Her favorite color is the sort of greens that you’d find standing in a forest and staring at leaves filtering sunlight. She doesn’t have any songs associated with her yet.

• Nythoren Moonweaver: He’s a night elf who grew up as a caretaker of Elune-favored spiders and a temple healer. The second invasion of the Burning Legion ripped his life out from under him and ultimately resulted in his encountering Illidan, training as a demon hunter, and discovering being transgender. He elected to consume an aranasi for his ritual, clinging to his love of spiders. Afterwards, he served Illidan primarily as a strategist and as a trainer of basic first aid skills for the Illidari. In the current age, with the Legion defeated and Illidan gone, he’s taken up a hobby of spider breeding, half returning to his old life as a caretaker of the creatures. His favorite color is orange, especially in its softer or faded shades. I have no songs chosen for Nythoren yet.

• Leoranaku / “Leo”: They’re one of my newest, so this is going to be short. A Netherwing dragon who came with their flight to Azeroth, they’re determined to find a way to bring more of Outland’s creatures to the safety of Azeroth as their former home crumbles away. To this end, they travel Azeroth in search of environments that might be able to well-support Outland life. They’re quite taken with the forsaken, and assume the visage of one. Much less taken with orcs, having been a beast of the Illidari’s fel orcs in the past. Leo’s favorite color is just about any shade of blue imaginable. I currently don’t have any songs for them either.

Last song I listened to: well this isn't saying anything about me because I'm not even all the way through it and I've never heard it before this, but Disorder by Third Eye Blind I guess? Before that...uhh. Trying to remember. I think Halo by Starset, which is a lot more representative. (Hey, is your blog title from Perfect Machine by the way?)

Currently reading: ...literally just last night I was hoping nobody would ask me this BUT I'LL BE A GOOD SPORT: I'm unfortunately reading Centaur Aisle by Piers Anthony. In fact I'm trying to read all of the Xanth novels in order. I think I don't even like them at this point? But I did read them as a kid and I have this inexplicable urge to go back through them and see what they look like as an adult. It's not good so far, though I gotta say this book is an improvement over the first three...? nOT THAT THAT'S A HIGH BAR!! BUT STILL. In my defense I'm also currently reading all the Discworld novels in order because all things in balance et cetera and I recently finished Soul Music, which slapped super hard.

Currently watching: Yeeeaaah my ADHD doesn't like watching things. I have not currently watched something since like 2020 and even then I didn't finish it, so...on that technicality, I guess Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance? ...sort of. It's as close to an answer as I'm gonna get.

Current obsession: I gotta finish decorating this house in FFXIV or I'm gonna screech a little. I have had it for over a year now and not done shit with it. But I'm almost done! Also RimWorld, Terraria with the Calamity mod, and I really want to make some cinnamon rolls with brioche dough at some point soon here.

Im ALWAYS looking for new songs for my playlists so question: do you have a toh playlist or otherwise any songs you associate with anyone from toh?

i don't have an owl house playlist specifically and i have WAY too many songs that i associate with toh characters to reply to in an ask, but you might get some mileage out of hunter's emo playlist, which is 12 hours of rock/metal music that i think hunter would relate to. hyperfixations are real

you might Also find some owl house feelings on my current original fiction writing playlist, because there's quite a bit of overlap with hunter music and general dark magic music and belos music and vengeance music. was gonna pull specific titles but it's honestly like.... half the songs on there. ("monsters" and "seven devils," two songs that make me think A LOT about caleb vengeance, have already been there for Months)

the most ON THE NOSE song on that playlist for hunter in particular is "alchemy" by starset:

Author’s Notes: First trip on the angst train folks. I've had this in my head for ages because I wanted to try something that wasn't relationship focused and I'm still not over this whole storyline with the chips, they were so darn close to exposing ol' sheev. Fox deserves some spotlight but i'm very sorry it had to be on this. I have got a part 2 practically written up already but wanted to test the waters with this bit first. Let me know what you think!! Fic below the cutoff :).

The title is from the song Monster by Starset. If you're after some good sci-fi related songs for the feels, Startset is where it's at.

Each step was quiet, calculated as CC-1010 moved into the storage bay. His men following his lead as they prepared to surround their target. General Skywalker was verbally defending the Chancellor from where he was captured in a ray shield. The target was unaware of their presence, time to move in.

Set to stun.

“Stand down, soldier! Get on your knees!” CC-1010 commanded, surrounded by his Shock Troopers. The target looked over at the unattended pistols. “Don’t do it solider.”

“GET AWAY FROM ME!”

“FIVES NO!”

Threat. Eliminate the threat.

Good soldiers, follow orders.

Set to Kill. CC-1010 never missed.

No.

Rex was screaming.

General Skywalker was ordering the Guard to lower the ray shields, not that CC-1010 could hear him over the ringing in his ears.

No.

The Captain was at his ARC-Trooper’s side, cradling his head. The blaster wound a disgusting contrast to the pure, shiny, white plastoid of his armour. The blaster wound that CC- no, that Fox inflicted.

No no no no no no.

The pistol fell from his hands and clattered to the ground as Fox came back to himself, the only sound which could be heard among the silence apart from Rex’s begging to Fives to stay with him.

Fox tore off his helmet. He couldn’t breathe. Fuck. The weight of what he just did crashed into him like a tsunami, threatening to take him down, tear him apart.

He stared at his gloved hands which shook uncontrollably. He tried to stop them but his brain didn’t have control of his body anymore. His men were looking at him, he could feel their gaze tearing into him like a jury to a defendant. Watching as their Commander fell apart.

He fell to his knees. No longer able to support his own body weight alongside the weight of his actions. He’d just killed another clone. One of his own vode. His own flesh and blood. That’d never happened before. Sure there had been traitors before among the clone ranks, but they’d never been executed on site. They’d never been pursued by Fox. Lucky them.

The chancellors’ orders echoed in his ears. “Eliminate the threat, Commander.”

Not bring him in for questioning. Eliminate him. No court hearing, no hearing Fives’ side like Slick and others before him. Just execution. And Fox was his executioner. Fuck he was going to vomit.

“Rex” Fox didn’t realise he was speaking until Rex’s eyes met his over Fives’ lifeless body, which he continued to cradle like his last hopes in this war.

Rex’s eyes were cold as ice, the power behind them attempting to freeze Fox to his very core. He didn’t blame him.

The heartbreak at losing another member of Torrent Company cracking the Captain’s usually unshakeable composure. As it fell apart piece by piece in front of Fox’s eyes, he was left staring at his little brother. His Rex’ika. Distraught, heartbroken, empty. He wanted nothing more than to protect him like back on Kamino, when Rex was a young cadet who feared the thunderstorms of their home planet. But Fox couldn’t protect Rex from this, Fox was the reason behind his brother’s agony, his loss. Fox was the monster.

“I-…” he couldn’t get the words out. He couldn’t explain himself. What could he say? I didn’t have a choice, I had to follow orders? That wasn’t going to fix the hole left in Rex’s heart. For losing Fives and for losing Fox too, because the Commander was sure he was dead to him.

Rex finally pulled his eyes away and it broke Fox’s heart. The Captain looked back down at his friend in his arms, his brother. He brought his forehead forward as he raised Fives’s, meeting him in one final Keldabe as he recited the Mando’a that had become far too familiar for them all. Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la. He cradled Fives close to his chest and hooked a hand under his legs as he got to his feet.

Rex’s face was stony, emotionless as he carried his fallen brother out of the storage bay. He held himself together as he brushed past the helmet-less Shock Troopers who stood stock still around their shaken Commander. He didn’t even spare Fox a glance. General Skywalker was hot on his Captain’s heels, going to offer support where he could. Just like that they were gone.

“Sir-“ one of the troopers went to place a hand on his Commander’s shoulder.

“Tell the Chancellor it’s done” Fox snapped out, the words tasting like bitter bile in his mouth. He did his best to regain himself as he grabbed his bucket, re-securing it and his emotions behind as strong a wall as he could fortify in his current state. Still shaking hands clasped around the dropped blaster and Fox finally returned to his feet, slightly unsteady.

“Return to base” his orders were flat as they came through the helmet. His soldiers didn’t react for a moment. He looked each of his men over, their shock at watching what happened bared to the world on their faces. He couldn’t take it. “Now.” Finally they nodded and made the move to leave the Gods-forsaken place.

Everything was a blur; people, places, all fading into nothingness behind Fox as he paced back to his office. His safe space. His feet carried him while his mind drifted, almost leaving his body in an attempt to protect himself from the internal horrors that threatened his grasp on reality.

Next he knew he was back in his office, no idea what route he’d taken to get there. The door had barely shut behind him before he stumbled to the small refresher attached and vomited. Choked sobs wracked his body as he emptied his stomach, tears creating salty tracks down his cheeks.

Once his body stopped torturing him, he finally backed away from the toilet and crawled to lean against the ‘fresher wall. His legs sprawled out in front of him as he threw his head back against the cool tiles. The sharp pain from the action doing nothing to bring him back, to distract him from the agony in his mind.

“Fox, Fox!! It’s Thorn, are you there?” The heavy gunner shouted from outside, his fists banging on the door demanding entry.

Nothing.

Thorn had heard what had happened, half the Guard already knew by now. Fox had been ordered to execute another clone by the Chancellor. As soon as the confirmation reached his ears, the Commander dropped everything to find his superior. He’d been friends with Fox long enough to know when he was nearing his breaking point, and he knew that this would throw him off the edge of his sanity.

“Kriff, Fox. I’m coming in!” He announced before punching the code in and rushing in to find his friend.

What Thorn found wasn’t pretty. Fox was propped up against the fresher wall, his head covered in a thin sheen of sweat, his amber eyes glassed over as he sobbed. He looked absolutely wrecked.

Thorn dropped to his side and took hold of his hands in an attempt to ground his friend. “Fox, hey Fox, can you hear me?”

Nothing.

“I heard what happened. I need you to come back to us, yeah. Maker, we need you Fox.” That got his attention, Fox’s watery eyes met his, but the Commander wasn’t fully present behind them yet.

“It wasn’t me” Fox choked out in barely a whisper, tears flowing freely again. Thorn moved forward and pulled the Commander into his arms, their armour fitting awkwardly against one another but it was enough. The broken man clung to his brother as he continued to repeat his words in a tear filled mantra against Thorn’s armour.

After what felt like forever, the shudders that tore through Fox’s body eventually died down to something more manageable. Thorn took that as his moment to try and get his Commander sat up again, maybe even get some water in him. He began to pull away slightly so he could look him in the eyes but as soon as he did, Fox started babbling again. At least it was a few more words than before.

“I set the gun to stun, I swear. I don’t know what happened. Once I saw Fives, everything went dark.” He tried to explain with as much coherence as he could. “They’ll never forgive me for this.” Thorn knew who he was talking about, his batch mates. Cody, Wolffe, Bly, Ponds and Gree. Fox had felt that their relationship was strained ever since he joined the Guard and his brothers went out to fight on the front lines. He’d become the cold leader of the Coruscant Elite Guard, he had the ‘cushy desk job’ while they had to watch their men die day in and day out on the battlefield. The sad truth was that they’d never understand the things the Guard had to go through each day. One night after a particularly tough day, he’d listened as Fox admitted that he wished he could provide his men with honourable deaths in battle to save them from their fates within the Guard.

Thorn’s chest felt like a vice as he cradled his friend, trying to absorb some of his pain as if it would help make things a bit easier on him. He’d never seen Fox like this and it was killing him. Why did the Chancellor always place the worst jobs on the Commander, why did he have to keep him so close, right under his thumb ready to make him do the dirty work. Never thinking about the aftermath, because the clones didn’t matter. So long as Fox kept showing up and performing admirably on the surface, the day to day pain and suffering wasn’t of concern to the Republic, least of all to the Grand Chancellor.

“Fox, I’m going to call Triage alright? He’ll know what to do.” Thorn announced softly, not getting much of an acknowledgment for his words as Fox started to drift off in his arms, his body’s exhaustion overtaking him for a blissful moment.

UNFINISHED: STARSET’s Hidden Gem

With their new album releasing just half a day ago, STARSET has added a bunch of new songs to their collection of beautiful work, all of which I love so dearly. From the singles released, you can really tell that this album is going to be an absolute banger. Their creativity seems to have no end, and this album release has been anticipated by their audience for literal months now. In this blog post, I am going to dissect one track in particular, which I feel is a hidden gem. It’s a track that hasn’t been talked about a lot, and I think it deserves some more love. Without further ado, let us dissect this track, which is actually NOT from the album released today… get bamboozled.

Did I get ya? Well I hope I did, unfortunately I actually haven’t had a chance to listen to the new album HORIZONS yet, so that’ll have to wait. The hidden gem I am referencing comes from their album VESSELS. This is the track that concludes the whole album, called “Everglow”. There is a lot to this specific track that is underappreciated, so if you’ve made it this far, take a seat, grab a snack and drink of your choice, and relax as we take this song apart and reveal the magic that lies underneath.

To start things off, here’s a fun fact. Everglow is STARSET’s longest released song to date, having a runtime of 7:56. It’s almost an eight minute song! This makes room for a lot of goodness, and within this time, there are multiple sections that each sound distinct in their own way. We’ll call the first 1:46 of the song section one, which is a calm, purely electronic section with lead vocals. The very first virtual instrument, or synthesizer used already fits the title of the song, as it feels like wisps of light flickering in the dark, almost like fireflies. Dustin stays in his low-mid register as he sings in this section, which creates a very calm and almost sad feeling to start the song. The percussion is soft and not intrusive, and it disappears when Dustin first sings the word Everglow. This makes way for other synthesizers, which are fast, but also very quiet. They remind me of bugs or small creatures just darting around. In fact, this whole song gives me a foreign world kinda vibe. Like, you’re stranded on a planet in some unknown solar system, and this first section is just you observing all the crazy looking, bioluminescent wildlife. Something neat to also note in this section is how the pulse is felt. Almost the whole section feels like a nebular waltz, with a pulse that can be thought of in three. Boom tick tick, boom tick tick… just try saying those words out loud while listening. This is briefly turned on its head at 1:25, when these rising, almost surging synthesizers come in with a pulse that feels like it’s in two. What’s interesting is that the tempo of the song is exactly the same, the feeling just becomes more driving and uneasy, given this new idea of a “subdivision” or division of the beat in two instead of the waltz-like three. The three feeling returns at 1:34, when you hear the word Everglow again, as it is still in that waltz-like feeling. It’s a brief idea, but it’s also one that draws lots of attention.

I have yet to talk about the remaining sections of Everglow, those being section 2: continued electronic music and building of motives, section 2.5: bridging the gap between the two halves of the song, section 3: the intense rock section, and finally section 4: the epic cinematic orchestral conclusion to both the song and the album! Skephalo Week, Day 5: Song

Title: send out the signal (read on ao3)

Skeppy sacrificed himself to save his best friend. Bad sacrificed himself to be with him again. The Bloodvines Arc, songfic of “Halo” by Starset

Skeppy didn’t know much about Bad’s background or his life before the demon traveled to the Overworld. He just knew that he used to live in the Nether, and not the safe, surface level Nether where Overworld beings had carved out and explored, but the deep dark core of the realm.

But you are not alone

All he knew is that on occasion, Bad would slip away from the home they created within smooth quartz walls and return to that world.

He always came back though, but he always came back different. Quieter, shakier, and just a little bit terrified, like he knew something that Skeppy didn’t.

(Under the covers of blankets, Bad whispered that he was afraid something terrible was coming, something that was destined to destroy them)

You make me superhuman

Year ago, Bad had given him his core, the part of his soul that tethered him to the Overworld. Skeppy was never the brightest scholar, but he did do his research.

So long as the core was protected and safe, the host of the core and the demon were undying. But it was risky for a demon to entrust another living being with their core. A demon’s core could grant functional immortality to its host, but it also gave the host a form of control over part of their soul, something most demons would never risk.

Skeppy once asked why Bad didn’t just anchor his life force with an inanimate object like most demons and Bad just hugged him.

He would do anything for Bad. Bad loved him, entrusted him with the most important thing to a demon, the literal vessel of his immortality.

They had been inseparable ever since. Though all the trolling and yelling and arguing and fighting. Through the countless wars on the server and the deaths and creations of countries.

And if I'm lost in the world's shadows

I'll use the light that comes to me

Bad wasn't an angel. He was a demon, that part was obvious. He didn’t exactly have that angelic halo that was told in legend and stories of old.

But Bad laughed at him when Skeppy pointed out that Bad was more angelic than demonic. “Angels aren’t as nice as you think, Skeppy” he said, smirking, tail twitching like an excited cat.

Skeppy had rolled his eyes.

“But if it makes you feel better,” Bad had continued, walking towards him and looking directly into his eyes. “You’re like my halo.” His clawed hand rested gently on the glowing blue core in the center of Skeppy’s chest.

The Bloodvines was a dark stain on their shared history, the most tragic and heartbreaking thing that had ever happened between them, a tale of miscommunication, sacrifice, and skewed senses of self-worth.

Skeppy saw it coming, he saw the bright red of Bad’s energy being sapped away until he was slowly being replaced by the ghost-white husk of himself, a puppet. He saw the bright red ginting in Ant and Puffy eyes and he was terrified.

If it means the death of me

I won't let go

The Egg promised him that Bad’s core would be safe; it swore that if he gave himself up, then it wouldn't need nourishment from others. Bad would be free, the whole server would be free, and bonus, Bad’s demon core would be safe forever. Bad would be safe forever.

The obsidian crumbled beneath his diamond pickaxe and the Egg closed around him, sinking beneath his skin and tearing him apart.

He only saw red. He only felt red. Burning, scorching pain that ripped him apart from the inside. He barely felt his own body, only the ever growing red vines that pulled him apart and dug deep into his very soul. He couldn’t even scream.

The Egg devoured him. It felt like his very skin was tearing away from his bones.

He was dumped onto the floor of the statue room, wriggling bright red bloodvines curling around him, cutting and squeezing and throbbing. His mind felt hazy and lost, and he couldn't control any of his movements, could just watch himself talk like he was dissociating from himself.

Send out the signal and I'll fly low

When Bad approached, Skeppy tried to hold onto him, to shout at him, to do anything. He wanted Bad and the core to be safe above anything else. I won’t stop loving you, he yelled at Bad in his head. I saved you!

But his mouth didn’t follow his thoughts and he watched his own body move against his will, attacking Bad and running. The haze of pain was ever-consuming and Skeppy’s mind nearly collapsed in on itself.

He had never wanted to die more than he had in that moment.

Bad knew Skeppy was still there. Even though Bad was still under the influence of the Egg, he was still mostly himself. And Bad knew that Skeppy was still there, locked in the confines of the red imposter version of himself.

They tried everything, yelling old insides jokes, telling stories, the holy water, everything.

Skeppy couldn’t break free.

Your halo.

He could still feel Bad’s core deep inside him, but he was trapped and suffocating in the red haze of the bloodlines, the red tendrils invading his mind and his heart and his body.

He clung onto it, the last remnant of Bad. It was like the faintest balm for the ravaged expanse of his soul.

Months and months passed and Skeppy was barely holding onto a shred of his own identity. The Egg hissed at him, mocking him: Bad had given himself up in exchange for Skeppy.

Skeppy begged for someone to save them.

It felt like it lasted an eternity.

When the Egg was destroyed for good, Skeppy sobbed as the tendrils that had been embedded in his skin for months burned away, searing fiery pain ripping across his whole body. The core was dim, blinking faintly in time with Skeppy’s racing heartbeat.

Bad was crying too, holding him close to his chest, spaded tail gripping only Skeppy’s arm desperately.

From your halo...

When every inch of red was finally torn away from his skin, Skeppy blinked back tears and opened his eyes to Bad’s face hovering over him, white eyes glowing bright like a beacon of hope.

His best friend was shaking, trembling as he gently traced the outline of Skeppy’s normal, human skin with a curved claw.

Skeppy was so weak, he could barely do more than stare up at Bad.

With a faint hum, the core glowed bright blue again and Skeppy let out a choked laugh and clung to Bad tighter. Bad rested a hand over the core and pressed their foreheads together tenderly.
