NEED clarification, Sun Wukong doesn't have parents since he is literally born from a magical rock egg- so how come? Did he got adopted somehow from the same colored Monkey like him? Like is it just a coincidence?

Lihua adopted Wukong when he was but a smoll baby monkey freshly born from his rock egg, yes

As for their colored fur, hers is more of a brown while his has an orange tint to it

Are you ever planning on elaborating on what happened to Nibby in New York or are you planning on keeping it vague? Or are things that happened back in their past gonna make a resurgence in the future?

Oh, I kept it very vague on where they specifically grew up in America, so it wasn't specifically New York. But if you wanna say they grew up there, that's fine!

As for the details of what happened to them, there's only so much elaborating before it feels like a trauma dump every chapter of the shit that Nibby experienced. Of course, the same argument can be made for them learning about Wukong and Macaque's life experience, but that's why we're taking it slow! (It's also because those two haven't moved forward from their trauma, while Nibby is slowly but surely moving forward.)

We'll do a small dive into what Nibby dealt with in future chapters, but due to this being a very slow burn of a fic, it probably won't be for a hot minute X"D Keep in mind, though, it wasn't as elaborate or as grand as you guys think. It's half of why I leave a lot of it up to reader interpretation, while only providing small details here and there. Think "Series of Unfortunate Events" and that was pretty much Nibby's life up until Zan found them.

You can only use the "My trauma comes from demons trying to enslave me" so many times before it gets redundant, you know? I'm here to write a story not just about two monkeys and one human kissing, but also a story about healing and moving on from the hurt, rather than stewing in it.

It's okay!! I absolutely plan to continue TIaF, I'm just taking a break from updating chapters to focus on making very important edits to the existing ones.

As you can see from previous posts, our wonderful woman Sun Lihua was a fun addition to the story. ORIGINALLY, she was supposed to just be Wukong's old advisor, but then my brain grabbed me and was like "she's Wukong's MAMA"

So that complicates a few existing things I've written X"D and therefore wanna make some edits! (It's also a chance for me to add in scenes I feel will be fun for the fic as well)

Once I finish the edits to existing chapters, THEN we'll be going back to the regularly scheduled updates!! <3

For funsies, here's everyone's ages from oldest to youngest:

Pigsy: 47

Nibby: 25-26

MK & Mei: 18 (with Mei being like a month older than MK)

Qiqi (LBD's host): 10
