anxeit fantasy au where Janus flees a kingdom after getting exiled by him husband (who’s king) because he’s been cursed to only lie to him after they got married. with every lie he grows a scale and grows more monstrous. He flees to the shadow land, a kingdom run by a dragon who will eat any humans who enter without permission. He enters anyway because it’s the only safe place to go as magic is banned throughout all the kingdoms that surround the shadow land. A mysterious figure saves him from monsters and helps him make a camp, visiting every few days to make sure he’s safe. it’s revealed that Virgil is the dragon who rules the land. Janus begins to make an empire, welcoming those fleeing from the other kingdoms because of their magic and slowly builds it up. soon the other kingdoms take notice and Janus is invited back to his old home to discuss trade and treaties and whatever. Technically as an ambassador and not the ruler. Virgil comes too as a human though he makes it very clear that Janus handles all politics because he sees it all as bullshit. Virgil endes up proposing to Janus at the ball, in front of his ex husband as a big fuck you, giving him a ring from his hoard. The kig gets upset and that’s all I have for that
