indefinite writing hiatus

hi hi <3 just popping by to say i don’t think i’m going to post fics anymore. i’ll be privating some fics on my masterlist that i don’t want to be public anymore, but some will still be viewable. while i do this, my masterlist will be private just while i edit stuff out.

this might change in the future idk i’m not 100% solid with this decision, i just feel really disenchanted posting my writing on here and flopping all the time lmao but who knows, maybe in the future i’ll post fics again.

this isn’t to say i’m leaving the blog, i’m still gonna be here, post gifs and reblog fic recs. i just don’t think i’ll be posting a fic any time soon.

100% unconcerned about Foamstars, or any other game that copies Splatoon in some way. Why would I be worried? If it's bad, then it hangs around for a year and then gets shut down and bothers nobody. If it's good and successful, then maybe it inspires something good in a future Splatoon 3 update or whatever the next Splatoon game is. As a Splatoon fan I stand to lose nothing, and potentially gain an improved version of the game I like.

#absolute worst case scenario: it's so singularly successful that Nintendo goes out of business completely #while inconvenient even that would be a blessed release in its own way #anyway foamstars is prolly gonna flop anyway just because most multiplayer shooter things do these days so whatever whatever whatever

“Why is Cub peeling grapes?”

Impulse shrugged, toeing off his sneakers. “Shrooms, prolly.” He flopped onto his side, socked feet and cargo-short-ed legs flung over the back of the couch. “Cubby, you good?”

Cub, wonder in his eyes, looked back. He seemed not to be glancing over, but to be watching the world pass in front of him like a rat looking out a bus window, wind in its fur and streetlights in its eyes. “I’m wonderful.” He looked back to his plate, adoration plain on his face. “I love grapes.”

Impulse tossed him a thumbs up. “Good to hear, man.”

Bdubs nodded. Sometimes, Cub was better left to his own devices. “I brought the goods.”

“Did you remember the sauerkraut this time?” Skizz, who was determinedly not looking away from his Mortal Kombat game on the tv, cocked an eyebrow in a preemptive, judgemental jab.

“Get your own sauerkraut, man.” Bdubs tossed a tinfoil-wrapped hotdog to Impulse, one into the kitchen to his right where Tango was attempting to fix the leaky faucet, his legs sticking out from under the sink into the middle of the tile floor, and one vaguely towards the couch between Skizz and Impulse. “Hotdog Guy sends his regards.”

Impulse raised a brow. “Does he actually, or are you relying on your weird cute-boy-senses again?”

“It’s not a cute-boy-sense! It’s my incredible rizz!”

“Oh, my god.” Impulse groaned, to Skizz’s cackles.

Bdubs grinned, nudging Impulse’s head, which was resting on the ground, with one of his sneakers. “I could show you, if you need any tips…”

“Broooo.” Impulse threw an arm over his face, his ears reddening. “You’re the worst. And– and you!” He half-glared at Skizz, who was still idly giggling at his reaction. “I have plenty of rizz!”

“Yeah? When are we gonna get to meet your boyfriend then?” Bdubs sang, drawing out ‘boyfriend’ as long as he could before losing his composure to a chortle.

“He’s– Hey! He’s not my boyfriend!” He swatted at one of Bdubs’ calves. “He’s just a friend.”

Tango, ever with good timing, emerged from his hazard site that was the kitchen. “Oh, are we talking about Impulse’s boyfriend?”

Bdubs wrinkled his nose. “Why do you smell like fire? Aren’t you fixing the plumbing?”

Tango shrugged, attempting to push up his glasses with one elbow, hands full of assorted tool boxes. “It happens.”

“It– what happens?”

“Oh, you know. This, that.” He gestured vaguely with his head.

Bdubs blinked. “O–key. Weirdo.”

Tango bumped him with a shoulder. “I hear Cute Hotdog Boy said hello this morning… When's the wedding?”

“Well, he didn’t say hello, exactly, but I could sense it.”

“With your cute-boy-senses?”

Bdubs groaned, a traitorous smile quivering over his lips. “Fuck off with that! But I’m totally going to ask him out tomorrow.”

“You said that yesterday!” Skizz piped up, still intently focused on his game.

“Is he into you?” Impulse, still hiding his face, poked at Bdubs’ ankle.

“Oh, he’s so into me. I can tell these things.” Bdubs scratched at his neck idly, cheeks reddening.

“Oh, my god.”

“He’s gone off the deep end.” Skizz signed, mock-mournfully.

“I’m serious!”

“You’ve never talked to the guy.”

“So? He doesn’t talk much! And, I said hi this morning, and he nodded at me, and he already had my order ready.” Bdubs crossed his arms, leaning back in what Skizz would later describe as a swoon, and what Bdubs then imagined was a badass, cool-guy lean.

“I think he’s just learned your schedule, man. You’re there at the same time every day.”

“But he basically said hi today! He doesn’t usually do that…” He hummed.

“He’s lost in the sauce, bro. Or the hotdog water.”

“Lost in the ketchup, more like. ”

“He’s a hotdog dude, man.” Skizz redirected to Bdubs, “How great could he be?”

“He’s awesome, you don’t even know. Plus, what do you have against the hotdog industry, Skizz?”

“Nothing, but what’s a hotdog cutie have in common with an optometry major?”

“He’s in herbology, I saw his bag one time! It had a bunch of band patches, too, and pins– He’s so cool, his hair is dyed this crazy white and he’s into plants and nature and indie rock–”

“Homie. “

“–and he always smells so nice, too. Like … “

“Like hotdogs?” Tango supplied.

“Yeah…” Bdubs sighed dreamily.

“Dude. Bro. Man. Have you ever asked him about this stuff?”

“No, but–”

“And he’s never said hi to you?

“Well, no, but–”

“Homie, I think you’ve just developed a pavlovian response to this guy.”

“Have not!”

“Bro. You always see him when you’re hungry, right?”

“Well, yeah.”

“And he gives you food?”

“Yeah. It’s his job!”

“It’s also his job to make you feel good, man.”

“Is not! You’ll see, I’m asking him out tomorrow.”

“Yeah, okay, buddy." Skizz smiled softly, looking away from his game. "You do that."

“I will!” Bdubs looked down at his half-wrapped hotdog. “I will.”

I don’t wanna keep bringing up the noah thing but he really turned off his comment sections, did it become to much for him. I notice that he tends to do something controversial but gets away with it unlike for example Millie, and he never turned off the comments before ever. he started to like pro Palestine posts so maybe he opened his eyes a little but he’s still following Israel government. I think he was raised that certain way and his mom also posts a lot of pro Israel stuff and I’m not excusing his actions, but it makes sense the things he did. So the hate is weird it’s too much he prolly feels everyone hates his guts :((

they said his career gonna flop it’s not but he’s not gonna have much support in future years cause of this. His “fans” just turned on him too instead of giving him benefit of the doubt cause he was raised this way. anyway he’s not pro anything he’s just following what his mom and dad think I think he’s pro peace and probably wants two state solution

it’s ok! a lot of people on both sides have turned their comments off. we don’t know noah but we do know that the post was about the october 7th massacre, and he felt the need to speak up because he was getting comments that mocked a young woman’s death. it wasn’t a randomly posted stance about the israel-palestine conflict that’s been going on for over 7 decades.

it’s worth remembering that following someone on social media doesn’t always mean endorsement. a lot of leftists used to follow trump on twitter to stay in the know re. what he’s saying. i follow newspapers across the political spectrum; it doesn’t mean i support people with right wing views. i’m just keeping myself aware of what people are saying on certain issues, how they report the news, etc.

it is possible his parents shaped his views; but we don’t know what their views are. they could be pro-peace while believing jewish people should have a homeland, and noah agrees. or their opinions are something else entirely and noah is forming his own opinions. don’t worry, his career will be fine, and he’s fine. no one likes what is happening. only cruel people and shit stirrers are gleeful about what is happening to palestinians, or israelis. or even both.

How team m (servamp) sleeps:

Tsubaki,i feel like hes gonna snore a little, claims to NOT be annoying, sometimes but also sometimes dont cling, doesnt like sleeping w/ blankets or socks unless its freezing, deep sleeper, man will sleep past a literal fire drill

Sakuya, prolly sleeps with a mahiru plush smh, dreams of mahiru, sometimes clings, likes wearing socks cuz he doesnt wanna touch the cold floor in the morning, light sleeper

Otogiri, doesnt snore at all, grabs onto anything like it will run away from her, likes to sleep with a thin blanket, wakes up at weird times and falls asleep again, light sleeper since she has to stay alert unless someone or something broke into the team m base

Higan, man probably sleeps in the last position he was in, complains of back pain when he slept in a freaking chair, just flops onto the bed and/or floor and sleeps, snores loudly, heavy sleeper

Berukia/belkia (how to spell his name??), loud, moves ALOT, sleeps w/ a teddy bear tsubaki gave him,could fall off the bed if not carefull/in a deep sleep, has fallen asleep head down-ass up position, heavy sleeper

Shamrock, sleeps on his back with arms folded across his chest, wears a blanket up to his chest, clings sometimes but not always, doesnt move at all sometimes, light sleeper, a door opening could wake him up

Lila/lilac, sleeps with a plushie, wears socks and uses a blanket, surrounds himself with pillows, light sleeper

This was a lot less angsty than I had in mind but I still love it and loved writing it

It’s really obvious when Camilo’s upset

He mopes

It’s so goddam pitiful you can’t help but want to hold him

I mean you were gonna do it anyways but his sad puppy eyes and droopy head just make it more compelling

He’ll keep up an act for the crowds and the kids, smiling and playing

But as soon as he waves goodbye the grin fades and his shoulders slump and he crosses his arms across his chest

Yes Ik it’s very angsty teen

But it’s also very Camilo

He’s not gonna try to hide his feelings if he doesn’t feel like he needs to bc it seems stupid

Why would someone bottle up their feelings?

Why hide them?

That just creates more problems

And not the fun kind

So when you approach him and ask if everything’s alright he doesn’t try for a smile and nod his head

Camilo looks right at you and shakes his head with the saddest look it makes your heart ache

So you offer him your hand and lead him somewhere secluded

You sit down on a bench or the ground and either A) gently pull him onto your lap or B) let him sit next to you

It depends on the temperature and your moods

It doesn’t matter which position tho he’s still gonna curl up there and flop his head onto your shoulder which prolly hurts you both a lil but you don’t really mind as he nuzzles into you and breathes deep

You wrap your arm(s) around him, rest your chin on the top of his head, and trace the tips of your fingers up and down his arm(s)

Or you might do that to his back

Or you might rub his back

Or a combination of the above

But anyways

As Camilo heaves a sigh you quietly ask if he wants to talk about it

Welp I was gonna say that toward the beginning of your relationship he wouldn’t but I honestly don’t think it would matter

If he doesn’t need to get it out or if he doesn’t have the energy to talk about it then he shakes his head

So you’ll just chill there with him, comforting him wordlessly, pressing tender, loving kisses anywhere and everywhere

Neck, forehead, temple, hair, hands, arms, shoulders, everywhere

If he’s on your lap with his chest to yours you’ll slowly comb your hands thru his hair and twirl the ends around your fingers

I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times in all the other hcs and imagines and fanfics but a main cause of Camilo’s upset-ness is that ppl in town are always asking for him to be other ppl

No one asks for just Camilo

So he’s often left feeling unwanted and used

So you’re there to remind him that you and the other Madrigals love Camilo for Camilo

He’s more than his gift

Then another huge source of mopey behavior is an identity crisis

With his gift it’s easy for all the appearances and genders and changing to go to his head

Camilo is also, without a doubt, a he/they

I don’t know a single he/they or she/they (including myself) that has not had multiple gender identity crisis’

And even after they come out and have it “figured out” there are still lots of times when they question it

So when Camilo has his he’s very confused and feeling vulnerable and probably second guessing everything every time someone calls him “he” or “they”

There’s honestly not much you can do for this

No solid advice you can give

No definite or clear solution

But you can offer support

You can promise that you’ll be there no matter what

It doesn’t matter if Camilo is a guy, gal or nonbinary pal

i've listened through american beauty/american psycho!! the sound of this one was definitely interesting, i feel like it leaned into the "pop" side of fob harder than any of their other albums, which i don't dislike! not my favorite album sound-wise, for one thing i feel like it's their loudest album by a country mile which i wasn't expecting considering how loud mania is, but i can definitely vibe with this! my personal fave songs were uma thurman, jet pack blues, novocaine, and twin skeletons (hotel in nyc). centuries is great too, of course, though it didn't blow me away like i was expecting from the fob song with the most plays on spotify by a good 500,000 listens. aaaand i must confess that i am intensely nostalgic for immortals bc i was an absolute nerd for big hero 6 as a kid.

but yeah, with that i have officially listened through all of fall out boy's main studio albums (aside from evening out with your girlfriend, which after thinking on it some more, i'm likely not gonna listen to)! if you couldn't tell from my entire personality for the past like, two months, it's been a fun ride! i'm prolly never gonna have a definitive ranking of each album that i'm satisfied with (my favorite flip-flops between save rock and roll and so much (for) stardust every goddamm day, and infinity on high and folie a deux are so ridiculously good that it makes ranking everything below first place harder), but either way, this band has permanently wedged itself into my brain and i couldn't be happier about it <3
