anyway, here are some of my favorite things

Love by Chance (2018)

The show that started it all (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡ Yep, my first Bl therefore I just must include it. Is is a good show? - not really. BUT! AePete are my babies, I love them. Nobody does it like them ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

2. My Only 12% (2022)

Childhood friends to lovers done right! My favorite show of the last year. It is a slooooow burn but it's so worth it! Very lively and real boys. great family and friend dynamics, kind of meh last story outside of CakeEwi but still…If you want some great friendship slowly blooming into romance this is the show

3. Kieta Hatsukoi (2021)

Super cute show. All characters are amazing, story well written, minimum hurt all the comfort. Good girl-not an enemy (im really easy too please ( •̯́ ₃ •̯̀) xd)

4. 30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii (2020)aka Cherry magic

JapBL are totally for me when they do fluff, (cause their angst is on a such level I need a lifetime to process it xd)

but this one is so fluffy (ฅ́ ˘ฅ̀)♡ They make me happy and I grateful for it

5. My Ride (2022)

Speaking of fluff °ʚ(´꒳`)ɞ° Other couples are kind of boring But! Mork's uncles, MorkTawan's adopted son (still a bit salty we didnt see him again, Tawan should've had more parenting time, he is clearly a great dad ଘ(੭◌ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚) natural growth of their friendship into love *_*. This one is good!

6.Color Rush (2020)

I love soulmates. Its short, simple story but with very interesting and original idea.

7. Hello Stranger (2020)

Such a simple story but the way it was done is amazing! Falling in love through web camera (੭ ˊ^ˋ)੭ ♡ Characters have such an incredible chemistry even tho they have minimum personal contact(kudos to actors they done well)))

I Will Knock You (2022)

Okay, yes age gap not for everyone. But again it was done very respectful. ૮₍ ´ ꒳ `₎ა I love love love Noey's ˖°.✧aesthetic✧˖°., his room is my fave ngl, i want everything he has))))I love this delusional king He was so sure Thi is into him from the second they met and i live for it.

9. Until We Meet Again (2019)

I love soulmates 2. I just love this show. Its gonna traumatize you and then comforts you with cutest fluffiest boys that going through it

10. Vice Versa (2022)

I didn't like it at first

Puen annoyed me too much ૮꒰˶> ༝ <˶ ꒱ა but then I binge rewatch it in one weekend and I just fall for it. Its so good))) I love soulmates 3 and it's super pretty. I love colors

11. About Youth (2022)

Show where I love main and second couple the same ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡ thats rare))) Again very simple story but told beautifly

Let's talk HIStory. They kind of getting worse imho. 4 and 5 were just fine. thats sucks ʚ₍ᐢ ›̥̥̥ ༝ ‹̥̥̥ ᐢ₎ɞ i still love them tho

17. Light on Me (2021)

Love triangle done right. Good light fluffy show that did hurt so good (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

I love how they told this story

its hard to explain how good this show is, its more serious than usual bls, great acting, amazing story, strong message told through not just cinematography but art and dance too. its truly great show

a personal Mario movie review from yours truly.

ok, so, I'm very natural over Mario franchise. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. so this review is mainly from someone who is there only for the animation (also for Jack Black ofc). cool? cool. alright.

spoilers below

I'm going to be super upfront with the "good stuff", and sorta detailed with the "meh stuff". mostly because the good stuff is very self-explanatory while for the negative ones I feel like at least I should give a little bit of reason why I feel that way.

good stuff

I love the world-building, everything is very well-detailed and the environment is insanely rich

character designs? love it. they look absolutely alive and expressive

the casting. I think they're all really good???? I personally think Chris Pratt is alright too ig? I mean I kinda don't care, I was distracted with everything else in the movie. but he's fine.

Jack Black. nuff said.

I love Toad. I love Peach. DK. BROWSER??? everyone's very likable damn.

I'm obsessed with the 3d models ngl. there are times when I was focused more on the models than I was on the story. It's really distracting in a good way.

Storywise, I think it's decent but also fun!

love love love the dynamic between Mario and Luigi. Peak dynamic, really.

Such a nostalgia trip. I for one who doesn't know much about Mario had such a blast listening to all the soundtracks and looking at the itsy bitsy references and such.

the credit animation is super colorful I wish I could eat it.

^ I was watching this with a friend who is obsessed with Mario. there are times when he went absolutely insane and explained some stuff that I didn't know. which I think it's cool! it's crazy how there are literally easter eggs and fan service everywhere, it doesn't feel forced too. I really could see why people love it so much.

meh stuff

ok, imma be honest. I'm just gonna complained about the plot holes here,, It didn't really effect the story, but it did confuse me a bunch of times. again, this is coming from someone who doesn't know much about Mario. I might miss some stuff.

the transition when Mario/Luigi got teleported from Brooklyn to the Mushroom Kingdom. like, why? what's so special about that specific pipe?

also before that. why's Brooklyn drowning all of a sudden lmaoo. that part kinda felt forced just so Mario and Luigi had a reason to go below the sewer. it sorta makes sense I guess? but the pacing is pretty dang weird.

how does Peach know her own kind? "you're a human!". she was a literal baby when she first got to the Mushroom Kingdom

I love love love Toad character. I just don't understand his presence? I mean sure, he's bringing the comedy, but you could find the "comedy" elsewhere too. so his character is a bit useless despite him being the protector. long story short, the movie would be fine with or without him < this is how much his character matters imo.

the pacing after Mario agreed to fight with DK and then suddenly he's on the stage. tbf this isn't really a big deal? but the transition kinda bugged me.

I don't know what exactly they wanted to do with Mario and Peach relationship. do they like each other romantically? it doesn't feel like it despite being teased a few times.

my dude Luigi has to sit in the cage for how long now? kinda suck. I wanna know more about him, I wanna see him more in action.

that being said. I wish they did more with Luigi, give him something to develop on. because seeing him fighting Browser doesn't feel as rewarding as how we see Mario. all he did most of the time was get caught and sit in a cage while Mario had to go through all those bullshit. but I get it though. storytelling wise, Luigi is supposedly Mario's goal. to get him back and all that. I get that.

I can't feel sad for Mario for some reason??? (this has nothing to do with Cris Pratt btw). his supposedly "emotional" scenes didn't impact me at all. in fact, I felt awkward. I honestly don't know why though.

the final fight scene is also awkward? I mean it's cool, don't get me wrong. I think it has to do with where they're fighting? I guess imma blame Brooklyn for this.

the 80's pop songs felt out of place, but maybe that's just me.

personal rating? 7.

but I genuinely get why people love this movie.

Watched the movie and honestly it was fine. No groundbreaking cinematic masterpiece. No disasturous dumpster fire. Just an ok movie that felt like a fanfiction from s1

Here's some more thoughts I have. There's no structure it's a little chaotic. Also spoilers (duh)

The stuff I liked:

The music was good

THE ANIMATION IS GORGEOUS. The lighting in every scene is perfect, the city actually feels populated and the colors overall are so much prettier than in the show

I loved the akuma designs

They do a good job of establishing how Marinette, in the beginning, is very anxious, affected by Chloe's bullying and how she doesn't have friends. That works better than what the show tried to establish, about how Marinette had no friends but still being popular for some reason

Alya being a good friend

The way Adrien deals with the loss of his mother and how playing the piano brings him comfort and makes him feel close to her. Imo the show went overboard with how literally everything Adrien does is dictated by his dad and never something he might genuinely enjoy doing. The fact that he had this hobby made him feel like he was more than just a sad boi

Adrien also seems to struggle with not having many friends outside Nino. Works pretty well with the characterization that he's socially awkward after being homeschooled for most of his life

Generally this Adrien has more PV vibes? I‘m digging it ngl

Marinette's dad is the best

Fu's introduction to Marinette sure was something xD

Gabriel was a good villain character. The show version is just some weird ass goof who is a huge ass to his son and everyone, yet the show wants you to feel for him without giving us a reason to care. This version actually has complexity. He’s still an ass, but now the pain over loosing Emilie feels real. You also have him hesitating to use the butterfly but ultimately spiraling completely into an actually threatening villain.

the fight scenes looked great

Marinette is still clumsy and awkward towards Adrien but without being too cringe about it and doing stupid shit. It‘s just heart eyes and day dreams and some stuttering. She‘s still nervous but I never felt like Adrien brought oit her worst side like in the show. She was simply a girl in love. This was wholesome to watch and so much better than... whatever the fuck the show did with the fucking dating trauma to use for """comedy""" bc the show runners have zero respect for her seriously I'll never get over how fucking stupid that was Marinette honey you deserve so much better

I honestly think this is a better version of the square. Still heavily flawed, but their dynamic feels so much more natural. Ladynoir stuff was sweet

The end where Marinette looses the earrings and then saves Chat without the costume was a good scene

Most of their moments were just quiet moments between just the two without any outside forces and characters constantly pushing them together. This bothers me in the show so much and is another major reason I cant get behind the ship, but for the most part the movie has some gentle pushing here and there but no convoluted and stupid cringy plans. In that regard movie love square is superior

Nino had a thing for Alya from the start pretty much, unlike in the show where he was crushing on Mari five minutes before getting with Alya. I like them in both the show and the movie, but the way they got together in the show was a little meh

Nino getting screentime in general

The stuff I don't know how to feel about:

Careless whisper. It was silly goofy but especially the second time when Paris is on fire and we skip to Adrien's room where he sulks... yeah that tome switch really threw me off

Two different voice actors for singing an talking. The difference was very jarring and while good for Bryce, Cristina has the voice of an angel like cmon I need her to do at least a cover from one song

Gabriel's redemption. Ok so I'm a little torn because the way they did it ties in very well with the the "power of love" theme that his love for Adrien makes him realize his mistakes bla bla, but he still terrorized a city and yet faces zero consequences, and Adrien forgives him, which are all thing that really rub me the wrong way. Idk the franchise is so obsessed with painting this man in a sympathetic light and in order for this to feel truly satisfying Gabriel shouldn't have tried to destroy Paris like 5 minutes earlier. I see what they went for and thematically it worked but I just need Gabriel to be put in prison

Speaking of Gabriel, the Adrien Gabe relationship isn't as abusive as in the show. This isn't good or bad, but I still think (very unpopular opinion) the show doesn't handle abuse well at all bc the only point of the abuse is pity points in oder to get the fans to care about the characters. So taking that out of the movie where you have limited time to wrap this whole thing up might've been a smart decision

With the ending they sort of hinted at a sequel

The cut off kiss at the end. They still act like a love square kiss is something sacred that they can‘t just give their fans. Commit to it already

The stuff I didn't like:

The dialogue was… something. Marinette just asking her mom over breakfast how to make her dreams come true. Babe just just woke up, that deep convos are for late nights

Generally the dialogue in both the movie and the show is a little weird

Lika Alya‘s „people try really hard to fail as hard as you“ Marinette spilled some coffee it‘s not that hard

Even though I liked the portrayel of Marinette‘s anxiety, at times the went overboard with it

Going back to the Gabriel redemption, just let Adrien have negative feeling about Gabriel already. The s5 finale have him idolize him and here he just instantly forgives and forget

So the butterfly is a villainous tool by default? They could've fixed their messy lore but noooo

The scene where Marinette gets her miraculous feels rushed.

The way Adrien receives his miraculous. He was chilling in his room and suddenly a black cat shows up. He doesn't even have to proove himself like Mari when she almost got hit by a truck. The moment in the show was already weak but this is just fucking stupid

the first akuma was just some random dude. They should've used someone the main duo has a connection to

Chat being a lil bitch about Ladybug rejecting him. Hated it in the show, hate it here. They could've used the movie to fix Adrien and they didn't. Other than that being a dick move as so many people have explained millions of times now, I find this such a boring source of conflict for the climax of the movie? They worked well before and they both know they care for each other as partners and even if being rejected hurts, Chat acts like LB just threw their friendship away or something with how strongly he reacts to it. In the show it felt blown out of proportion and it does here as well. I think they should've had a different kind of conflict which actively hurt their partnership or Chat stops treating LB unfairly just because to her he‘s not a romantic partner.

The fart jokes. Though tbf this is a kids movie

The way Marinette falls for Adrien was extremely underwhelming. Adrien smiles at her and helps her get up and then just walks out of the library all like „she‘s so weird“. Could‘ve been fixed if he and Mari stayed in the library and had a little conversation

Also Adrien‘s introduction in general? He just chills in the library and… yeah that‘s it. I blame this on the writers of the movie cutting character introductions short because they assume the audience already knows the characters and therefore doesn‘t have to introduce them. I don‘t think that was a good choice

The Adrienette stuff was just a montage. Would've been nice to actually see them connect (though that was probably a time issue)

Also they didn't give any spotlight to Marinette's good qualities like selflessness and intelligence. Would've been nice to see her be more willing to be there for people and help them out with things as a result of her gaining more confidence

Seriously the montage was a big mistake and takes away a lot from what could've made the movie stand out

The reveal felt a lot like Adrien only loving Marinette because she's LB, which was a big reason for me to not ship Adrienette prior to the flip (not that I did after). Something like this would‘ve been believable in a setting where they didn‘t know each other as civilians I guess, but that doesn‘t work for the square. Had they actually shown Adrienette develop outside of a montage this would'be been way more believable and touching.

I think a reverse love square from the beginning would've worked better here, or they should've made the Ladynoir side canon

Adrien tells Marinette about his dead mom. Chat noir tells Ladybug about his dead mom. How does she not make the connection?

The "power of love" theme fell flat with Marinette. she doesn't have her moment of "oh I have to protect the people I love" like Tikki's dialogue suggests. There were multiple people at the theme park she could've spotted being in danger and that should've made her want to save them. Tom being there was literally the perfect set-up. The show does this with Alya being trapped under a car or something and Marinette seeing her

I also think the jump from anxious Mari to brave Mari didn't work. In both the show and the movie it just feels like she just decides to be confident now without really getting there through hard work. The motivation was there in the show (see previous point) but in both instances it just happened too fast. Let Marinette have time to really adjust to her new role

This would've worked if the movie didn't try to keep the show's formula of "villain of the week". Why are we getting a montage about that when there's already a whole ass show with five seasons where we already see that? This montage took up time that could've been used more effectively. The movie should've tried to be more of it's own thing, really shoud've tried to flesh out the characters more in a way the show doesn't. They didn't need LB and CN immediately competent and loved by the public after the theme park fiasco. Just use the run time of the movie to get adjusted to fighting crime on a weekly basis, have them fail to then fix their mistakes and learn from them. Why not do a training montage with the point of becoming better instead of flirting? The movie tries too hard to keep up the show formula and it takes away the quality the story could've had

Also in Marinette's case it felt like the only "power of love" that mattered was her partnership with Chat. Her family and friends weren't completely unimportant but definetely underutilized in that regard. Romantic love is not the only important love you know

Their powers of cataclysm and miraculous ladybug only came in at the very end. The built up could've worked if they spent more time showing how they become good and experienced heroes over time

Generally the climax was underwhelming. Gabriel learns Chat‘s identity and the damage is made undone like 10 seconds later

Adrien being like "yeah I didn't really get close to people after my mom died" what's with the Nino erasure smh

Luka wasn't important

Kagami wasn't even there

I think the end scene hinted at the sentimonster stuff and I wished they would've just not include that

Final thoughts

There are things the movie did better than the show and some things it didn't. They don't waste much time on establishing who the characters are because they expect viewers to already know that from watching the show. But like the show, they fail to use the concepts they've set up in an effective way. The movie not only tries to stay true to the show but is almost dependent on the audience knowing the series.

But yeah, the movie atmosphere was nice. Nothing extraordinary but also not super bad. It had s1 vibes and despite the problems I listed, I had a good time for the most part. Not a must watch but still fine

ngl, the modern gene error thread actually gives me a little bit of anxiety, bc theres a very specific gene + color combo that is "bugged", but it looks so much infinitely better bugged than it does regularly. normally the combo is just ugly fodder, but with the specific gene, with a specific color, on one pose only, its absolutely gorgeous. so much so i have multiple dragons of that combo because of how nice it looks. (and before anyone says anything, there isn't a single non-bugged color that comes close to it, all the adjacent colors are either meh or suffer the same ugly colors.) so far my hope is that nobody will notice because of how few dragons there are with the combo + how specific it is to find, but im still genuinely worried about it getting fixed bc i think i would honestly just exalt all the dragons with. they have lore and everything, but i really cannot stand the combo normally. and i know i should probably just get it over with replace them with new dragons but i just agonize over it so much because i dont want to see my dragons get ruined over this. and i know that it's just "making everything consistent" but this is also an issue that affect ~100 dragons at most, but also they fixed the same issue on a different breed fairly recently (which had even less dragons affected) so idk. just upset i guess.

[Magi reread; special edition] Episode 2: Dungeon Suite [Part 1]

Y'know, I meant to do the ops and eds on the side, but tbh feels a bit pointless? So I'm making up for the op here.

Fun fact! I actually used to dislike V.I.P.! I like it, now, but at first it was just kinda meh to me. Idk what changed. But still Hikari >>>>>>> Honestly, Hikari and With You With Me are still best op/ed in Magi to me, and that will not change. But I am also extremely biased towards the Magnostadt Arc. Can't wait for it.

I like it when they're allowed to be a trio. And also how it's shown from Morgiana's perspective. The world was so dark until these two came around.

You seemed like you were gonna be more important than you ended up being, and I'm a bit sorry.

Ugh, this dumb bitch (I love him).

My beautiful daughter who deserves every good thing in the world and a very not cool boyfriend with a stupid horn on his head.

Fun fact, I've only noticed that lil prince Alibaba on xth rewatch.

I love the door scene, ngl.

Anyway, I also really liked at the beginning the scene with Ugo, and how it transitioned to Alibaba. It's both cute and a bit sad, too. Alibaba's kinda filling that place Ugo's about to leave empty.

Ok, the actual episode.

That's still a really cool shot.

Also, I forgot to mention. But in the anime Aladdin and Alibaba become genuine friends far faster. But that's also bc the first few chapters were juggled around a bit.

Aladdin gest tired of summoning Ugo much faster here, and, yeah, he just faints a little, pushing Alibaba and himself in.

It's a cool scene, and I like it very much, but also, that's the exact opposite of what happened in the manga. I've mentioned it before, in the manga Aladdin wakes up first and has some time to calm down, so he's more level-headed when Alibaba gets there, and he is the one to save Alibaba by convincing him not to rush in blindly. Here, well, clearly Alibaba wakes up first (because Aladdin's already kinda fainted), notices the danger and gets them out.

You guys remember all these chibi Rolling Girl animations?

We had a moment with Jamil (I don't recall half of the oasis trying to convince him not to go), but it was a funny scene, bc it transformed into Aladdin and Alibaba running and screaming.

ALSO now that I realize. In the manga Alibaba actually makes a point to prepare for the dungeon. I like that, it shows that he's being understandably cautious. But here they just straight up ran on Ugo from the desert, and went in without a second thought. Well, that's not true, Alibaba was thinking about what it entailed, but he didn't actually consider preparing or anything at all, only asked if Aladdin wanted to turn back, cuz it was his last chance.

Oh, yeah, Alibaba's thinking about it, now. Good that he's aware of that, but, like, it's quite a difference.

This scene is still hilarious.

But also, man, purpla saliva looks kinda sick there, ngl.

Oh, yeah, I wasn't imagining it. They used white outline for it.

Alibaba has a pretty cool fighting moment here, ngl.

AGAIN. Man, they really made Alibaba save their asses left and right. In the manga it was, again, Aladdin, who called for Ugo. Like, bro, what the hell.

Like, listen, I live for Alibaba being allowed to be cool and all that, but not at the cost of other cast members?

Now Aladdin's calling for Ugo, so at least that, I guess. But it sure took him ages to do anything.

But also, I gotta admit that Amon's Dungeon is my favorite aesthetics-wise. I love all the colors here.

5. 3 favourite characters?

Esteban, Elena, Naomi. (Though it's a very close call between Naomi and Valentina ngl and sometimes, Elena annoys me a little and gets bumped down a place or two).

6. Least favourite character?

Shuriki in the sense that she's the one who personally evokes the most angry feelings in me. But I also thinks she's a particularly good and effective villain and a very effective means of creating high stakes and woobifying Esteban further, so she can stay in my book.

I also really dislike Cristobal Castillo a fair bit for obvious reasons, but I think he also works fairly effectively in the context of the show as both a temporary baddie and as foil to Esteban (even if I wish we could've seen them interact more).

I think Fiero and Zopilote are both really interesting conceptually but were largely wasted in the show itself. Maybe they would've worked better if they were combined into a single character. Ash's evil mentor who serves as a foil to her and to Mateo, allies temporarily with Shuriki for POWAH (but always plans to betray her) in S2 and is both very proud of and very demanding of Ash. But in their current incarnation, they're just kind of there and largely pointless to me.

In terms of characters who weren't specifically designed to be villains, I am not particularly fond of Flo, Charoca, Luisa, or Mateo. I wouldn't say I "hate" them exactly as all do have some moments that I enjoy and have a role to play in the story. But even at their very best, I am decidedly "meh" about them compared to the others. Particularly Mateo. (I recently made a post about what I see as pretty clear writer's bias/favoritism toward him and why it aggravates me).

9. Favourite season and why?

It's difficult to say, since I think each of the seasons have their own particular strengths and weaknesses.

S1 is most consistent on an episode-by-episode level. At this point, the show is mostly filler/world-building but its much less glaring and disruptive here than in the later seasons. Also "Island of Youth" and "King of the Carnaval" have my whole heart.

S2 is best at pacing and balancing filler with the main plot. Shuriki is also by far the best villain on the show, and while there's still a lot of missed opportunities with that (which I'll get into at the next question), her return and defeat are handled reasonably well. I also feel that S2 has the best Dia de los Muertos episode (" The Jewel of Maru") and the best holiday episode ("Snow Place Like Home"). That being said, S2 is particularly aggravating to me as an Estefan since he does pretty much nothing of substance for an entire season--with the exception of an (admittedly great) cousin rap battle and a bit of (shared) focus in the Navidad episode.

S3 is probably my favorite and there is so much to love about it. the show finally gives Esteban the characterization and plot focus that he has deserved all along--and as a bonus, they gave him magic powers, a (reluctant and fortunately temporary) villain era, a redemption arc, a sparkly magical outfit( that pairs with Elena's) and an extremely stupid new hairdo to boot. I also love love love Elena's emotional magic (particularly as a parallel with Esteban's teleportation and just the aesthetic of her dress changing colors with her mood). I also love Victor and Carla redemption (even if I wish we could've seen more of them). In S3, we were introduced to Chloe, Antonia, Ixlan, and Rebecca who are some of my faves of the supporting characters. I love everything about "Dreamcatcher" and most of "The Magic Within" (except for Flo and the mood whiplash she brings with her) and "Coronation Day" as well.

But for all that is great about S3, there are some notable flaws as well. The most obvious of which is pacing. (Granted that this is probably unintentional and a lot of the problems are due to Disney airing things wildly out of order). We will go from some of the most devastating and emotionally exhausting episodes on the show to just super low-key filler episodes without any preamble and it's so frustrating. That being said, S2 did a much better job integrating the main plot even into filler episodes. (Ex: There was a little bit Victor and Carla shenanigans in "Royal Rivalry" and a few scenes of "Carla-as-Rita" even in the mostly filler science fair ep). It's also wildly funny to me how we will go through multiple S3 episodes without Esteban appearing or even being mentioned, yet the moment he does show up--either in person or conversation--he is accompanied by the affirmation that Elena is 110% incapable of being normal about him. It's like he either doesn't exist at all to her OR he is one of the only things that exists to her. There is absolutely no middle ground. It's hilarious.

I also have mixed feelings about Ash, Chatana, and the Four Shades of Awesome as villains. Chatana in particular seems underdeveloped and underused. While I mostly like Cahu as the final Big Bad, the other Shades seems kind of random and out of place, and I also think Cahu should've been introduced an episode or two earlier. Even if she doesn't appear, we could've learned that summoning her was Ash's plan and what she expects to accomplish. As well as the stakes of what they are risking by doing so.

16. Most ridiculous plot line?

The absolute nonsensical timeline/episode airing order throughout the whole show but especially in S3. Honestly, ridiculous is not at all the right word, but the plot arc--or at least plot element--that I find most aggravating is Esteban's plot during the S2 "Shuriki Returns" arc. Or more specifically, the complete and utter lack of Esteban plot during said arc. More than anyone else on the show except possibly Elena (and even that is debatable), Esteban's entire character has been shaped by 41 years of Shuriki's reign, coupled by his own guilt for enabling that reign in the first place and his lingering fear and trauma from the Dark Times in general.

As such the Shuriki returns arc should've been nearly as crucial to his character development as it was to Elena's. And yet...all we get is "The Right Thing to Do" and a few tiny little moments in "Song of the Sirenas" (him hiding behind Francisco on seeing Shuriki again and wanting to be rescued first from the tower). That's it. Three little moments, two of which are specifically played for laughs and all of which only really contribute to Esteban's character development if you really stop and think about them beyond the surface level.

Esteban uses his body as a shield multiple times to protect Elena from Ash (and later Cahu) in S3 and yet, he sees Shuriki and he immediately darts behind his grandfather for protection like a scared child. He literally does a song and dance to try to persuade (and then force) Elena to stay as far away from Shuriki as possible. He jumps the line to try be the first to be rescued from Shuriki and then his second thought is to protect the youngest and most vulnerable person in the room (Isabel) instead of himself. It's almost (sarcasm) as it he knows better than anyone exactly what truly horrendous things that Shuriki is capable of and wants to protect himself and his family from them.

I mean, I understand that the nature of this being a children's show discourages them from delving too much into Esteban's trauma and what exactly the Dark Times looked like. If they reminded the eight year olds watching that 41 years is an insanely long period of time to live alone without family, friends, or freedom, they would probably get so many angry letters from parents. Yet in the very first episode of the show, they just low-key reveal that Shuriki enslaved the noblins .

I don't think it would've been too much to have Esteban be like "Remember the noblins. Remember your parents. Remember the amulet. These are only a few examples of the terrible things Shuriki has done . I've seen them all firsthand and I've seen countless more equally nightmarish so I will not let you go after her now" before he breaks into his Hamilton audition piece.

Or even just there be a brief moment during the "Shuriki Returns" arc where someone is like "How are you holding up, Esteban? This must be so scary and stressful for you too/ you in particular." But no, this was apparently too much to ask for.

My favorite songs from the show are always the random ones with guest characters as opposed to the actually plot-important ones with main characters, lol. So my top 5 would probably be: "You Can't Catch Me," "A Little Bit More," (Val, my beloved) "More, More, More" (which is probably the most underrated song on the show imo), "You Want to Live Forever," and "The Gift of Night" and probably in that order.

If you held a gun to my head and told me I had to pick a more important song that is song by a series regular, it would probably be either "Something I Would Never Do" or "Let Love Light the Way."

1. Version 6.0: Elysia - Herrscher of Human: Ego

OKAY. SO.

This.....THIS BUBBLEGUM BITCH IS THE CAUSE OF THE GODDAMN PROBLEM WITH THE COLOR PALLETTE ON THE BATTLESUITS THESE DAYS. YOU, ELYSIA. YOU'RE THE CAUSE OF THIS.

BUT. I do wanna say one thing; since she's the one who started this bullshit, it's pretty obvious the color scheme fits her. I kinda like the design, and the color scheme clashes well when it comes to her, sooooo the rating is: 8/10! Kinda solid.

2. Version 6.1: Li Sushang - Jade Knight

Ok i have to tell the truth here and say that i.....prefer her HSR design, obv. But this design is nice too, so yea. Plus! It kinda sticks with the name of the battlesuit; "Jade Knight", since there's jades in some areas of the battlesuit, which is pretty lit!

Rating is: 7/10! Once again, i prefer her HSR design, but this one is nice too.

3. Version 6.2: Ai Hyperion - Chrono Navi

Good god i do NOT like this design that much ngl. Idk why, it just doesn't scream to me well. Ugh.....

Rating is: 4.5/10. Idk what to say abt this other than the fact that i'm not a big fan of this design.

4. Version 6.3: Bronya Zaychik - Herrscher of Truth

So the truth is......this design fucking rocks. Common Bronya W <33333

Rating is: 10/10! I'm honestly just gonna rate my fav designs a 10/10 lol.

5. Version 6.4: Kiana Kaslana - Herrscher of Finality

This design is.....um. Meh.

The more i look at it the more i can tolerate it, ig, but idk.....it just doesn't sit right to me at times 😭

6. Version 6.4: Raiden Mei - Herrscher of Origin

Oh my fucking god this design is just bad imo. The more i look at it the more confusion seeps into me. Why is it built like that. Why. Just why. Istg i don't think lighter colors like THIS clashes with Mei that well in all honesty.

Rating is: 3/10. One of my least favorites.

7. Version 6.5: Susannah Manatt - Valkryie Quicksand

Susannah, i love you as a character, but as a battlesuit? Fuck no. What the fuck is this shit.

Anything below 3/10. I couldn't find the right number to express my absolute dislike/hatred towards this battlesuit.

8. Version 6.6: Hare/Misteln Schariac - Dreamweaver

Another very eye blinding color pallette, but nonetheless this is....slightly better i guess???????? Idk lol. Her ult kinda disappoints me a lil, but eh, whatever.

Rating is: Very fucking neutral/10. Once again, couldn't find the right number to express how i feel abt this battlesuit.

9. Version 6.6: Prometheus - Terminal Aid 0017 (i think???? I forgot the name wtf </3)

Fuck yea!2!1!11!1!1!1!1 LOVE HWR LOVE THIS DESIGN PROMETHEUS SWEEP

I dunno if I asked or remember asking that question, but anyway, what is your overall thoughts of Wicked World, if you watch all the episodes?

I don't recall you asking either, really, so....

Overall thoughts: it was meh. I did manage to like, watch all of season one and it was really hard to do cause the plot clearly struggled to find what it wanted to do, let alone the fact that some of the characters just felt weirdly written, Evie being the one that comes to mind but Audrey also in some sense and could they make their mind up with Lonnie already?? Girly girl in first film, into ROAR in D2 and hip hop in wicked world???? Did no one know what they were doing with Lonnie at this point in Descendants or-

And the animation....look, its not as bad as Addison’s Moonlight Mystery, that one is meme material. But like, you can tell where the CGI struggled with the hair movements and such and even somehow lightwashed Audrey’s skin??? Apparently they fixed this in S2 but like???? How??? And the outfits....look, a large majority of them are fine...given they mostly wear outfits from the first Descendants, so...but BEN?! WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIM?! Maybe this is why we don’t get Ben wearing shit beyond his king outfits: because when Descendants tries, they somehow give him two different patterned outfits at the same time and different colors for some reason. And you can tell the CGI budget was small as shit...because characters like Chad and Doug are missing, hence why you don’t see Evie and Doug dance with each other in S1 finale and have a weird joke as a result with Evie dancing with the princess crown.

And for the characters we got introduced to....Freddie’s pretty cool, kinda funny with China Anne McClain voicing her in S1, but she’s a pretty cool daughter of Facilier at least, but damn, even if this Mal is more likeable then films Mal, Mal still a bitch about bringing Freddie off the Isle. And Ally and Jordon....they okay. Like, Jordon’s name is a little weird as we can’t tell where exactly the team got this name for a character whose dad was from Agrabah. But like, she’s okay at least I guess, but I’m mixed on Ally: one hand, design is cute and I do like how they TRIED to make her a lil wonderland like, but on other hand: god could her quick to accuse moments in S1 get annoying... And CJ is probably the biggest mood of S1: appearing for maybe one episode and then fucking off afterwards. A mood, I tell you. Tho outside of that, she’s a good character...even if they just didn’t use her very well in the end.

I didn’t really watch S2 per-say, maybe a couple of eps but I honestly lost interest after S1. But I will say from what I watch: meh on the season. At least it had a plot I guess this time...even if the jewels existence is confusing to me because....you telling me the heroes have all these powers given to them, even with the discouragement of using magic, and we NEVER got to see them use the jewels again after this??? Are you KIDDING ME- and they also took the villains away from them but are now giving them finally to the VKs??? What??? HOW DOES THAT WORK- how did only Maleficent hide hers but no one else??? AND WHY WOULD SOMEONE LIKE CRUELLA HAVE ONE- Though ngl, evil Mal was kinda cool to see and her song is a bop at least...even if her whole jewel thing is confusing as fuck still... And for the new guy who was made to be the villain...at least he had more to do this season then CJ did in S1??? But not saying much, and ngl, the crush on Mal feels like....a weird way to tie him to Mal and its never brought up again beyond that mention, not even when Mal tells Evie to distract Zevon like uh, Mal, he has a crush on YOU, not Evie, YOU do the distraction here- And CJ just...appears randomly again in finale and I guess auradon is chill with her suddenly despite all she’s done.

And....not surprised it didn’t get a S3, don’t even try after the mess that was D3. Though out of this, the wedding prep shorts and the zombies one....this is probably the most decent animated series’ Disney’s done so far, so...

My thoughts on Pokemon Scarlet (and Violet)

So I just beat the main story of Scarlet the other day, and I think I’ll weigh in on it all. Obviously, spoilers below, so proceed with caution.

Right of the bat, the performance and graphics need to be addressed as the elephants in the room. I personally found that the performance was only really bad in specific areas, like that one bamboo forest area. The graphics varied from “meh” in some areas to completely hideous in others, with camera clipping and lighting flickering being very common, though ultimately these didn’t impact my enjoyment of the game too heavily.

Difficulty wise, I can say that it drops off pretty quickly, with it only becoming a challenge during boss battles, like with gym leaders, rivals, the elite four, etc. The lack of the ability to change your battle style to “set” along with most trainers and gym leaders having no more than three pokemon really doesn’t do much to help this. The Team Star bosses were some of the most difficult battles in my experience.

The world itself has some good bones to it, but sometimes it feels empty, especially in the towns, the one place you think shouldn’t be empty. The lack of interiors to buildings really hurts the game, as having the ability to explore every nook and cranny of the towns and cities in previous titles really made them special, and talking to every NPC as well. In SV, this is all pushed to the side, with many shops having only GUIs pop up once you enter the door, and almost all non-shop or plot important buildings being non-enterable. The most horrible example is the 5 skyscrapers in the electric type gym’s city. All are modeled, referenced in npc dialogue, and yet they don’t do anything other than to add something to the landscape.

The the new pokemon designs are some of the strongest ones I’ve seen in years. I adore the regional variants as well as the new pokemon (Clodsire, Lokix, and Maushold being some of my favorites.), though the starters I am 50/50 on.

The designs for significant NPCs like the rivals, teachers, and gym leaders were all great, and the designs for non-significant npcs (like the various trainer classes) were also pretty good. I do like that they had some variations within the trainer classes in terms of hair color, skin tone, etc. Also there are more body types represented. Particularly a lot of muscular ones (I will not elaborate on how this makes me feel)

Now for the story (MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW)

The story itself seemed to start out fairly average for a pokemon title, but it quickly ramped up. The Path of Titans and Starfall Street arcs definitely gave this vibe off right away. Arven’s desire to make his Mabosstiff feel better again was really sweet, and seeing the motivations and drama behind the origins of team star and its bosses definitely made me sympathize with them. I quickly speculated the Cassiopeia was Penny, and by the time it was formally revealed in the plot, it was less of a “AHAH I KNEW IT! >:D” response and more of a “Oh.... I knew it... ;-;” one. Plus Penny turned out to be a literal cybercriminal who stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of league points from the pokemon league, which is kinda based ngl.

The main storyline following Korraidon and later Area Zero is what I consider to be the strongest story pokemon has told in years, especially in the final parts. Finding out why Professor Sada left Arven alone for all those years, the true nature and goals behind her research, and learning more about Arven, Nemona, and Penny whilst travelling through an extremely surreal area with an eerie soundtrack definitely struck me. but nothing could prepare me for that finale.

It turns out that Sada succeeding in making her time machine, but is now dead, she had thrown herself in front of Korraidon to protect it from another more aggressive one she had brought through the machine from the past. The Sada we were communicating with was actually an AI, a literal android. The pokemon that had been brought through the portal would innevitably ruin the ecosystem if they made it out onto the surface, but the original Sada insisted that she would make it work, to create a paradise. The AI even recognized that her ideas were flawed, but was programmed to prevent the machine from being shut down. Resulting in a battle between her and the player (with one of the most amazing battle songs that Pokemon has ever had), along with a second battle where only Korraidon had the ability to fight (leading it to break free of its fear and return to its battle form). only to realize that AI Sada is one of the failsafes for the machine, it would not deactivate with her still there. So after saying her goodbyes to the gang as well as telling Arven that she is proud of him, she goes through the machine, to the past (something that Sada originally desired), and being that she was no longer present, the machine was able to shut down.

If that doesn’t sound like it belongs in a Pokemon game, I wouldn’t blame you for thinking that, but I feel that it is one of the most emotional and somewhat dark stories pokemon has told, and I like that.

Now that spoilers are out of the way, I want to discuss the music briefly. Toby Fox seems to be becoming a regular part of Game Freak’s music team and I hope that it continues to be that way, his influence within much of the game’s soundtrack is obvious, especially the final battle against AI Sada. I look forward to seeing any future work he will do in possible SV DLC and future Pokemon titles.

My final rating is probably a 7 out of 10. The story, designs, and music were insanely good, but the lackluster graphics, absence of even the most basic difficulty options (like set battle style, level scaling, exp share, etc.), and the various performance issues and graphical bugs slightly impacted my experience negatively. Hopefully updates and patches will solve the bugs and performance issues, but I don’t have high hopes for the graphics or difficulty improving until the next titles.

Ultraman Trigger October Scans

So ill just be covering the main content since like most pages of the scans are just miscellaneous stuff

The only thing we can talk about here is that if we look at the bottom right, we see the Dark Giants standing alongside the Absolutians neutrally. Does this mean that they've teamed up?

Tho its very unlikely that the Absolutians would be staying any longer than ep 15 since they're way too strong. But considering we have GE and Trigger Dark, whom both are currently stronger than the Dark Giants, perhaps the Absolutians made a deal with them and thus granted them the same Absolutian boost after essentially recruiting them for their expanding army?

Its kinda the only way for them to still be able to fight back against the heroes without Vulthroom's involvement yet nor access to the Eternity Core

And gosh can we talk about the lineup here?

Kyrieloid essentially got a glow up, now he looks so smooth damn

And MAN the Metsu kaiju's design really surpassed my expectations cause initially I was kinda 'meh' once we knew what they were gonna be like with the leaks but WOW, they actually look so good????

Like damn I guess its the color combinations which really strikes me as them looking kinda like an infected creature, but menacing af, especially Metsu Orga, which imo look waaay better than its original counterpart

Gosh I hope that unlike the original Ura, which was basically just a wild animal which turned good in the end, Metsu Orga actually has ill intent to harm and give us a far more interesting fight scene

And GOD I would totally buy a DX Metsu Orochi even though I already have the original cause DAMN he looking scary af yo

Also I want to talk about the Trigger Dark hyper key cause its actually kind weird here, specifically its number

For one, the order is opposite to both the M and U Hyper Keys and its index is 10, essentially Tiga's Hyper Key which is a merch item. Not to mention it has two dots beside the 10 as well.

This means that its possible that we'll have more than 10 Hyper Keys as we had previously assumed

I suspect it'll have something to do with his rumored Clash and Vortex forms which I suppose we would see in next month's scans which I'll talk more about

So onto Trigger Dark himself here, seeing as Ignis is attacking Trigger when he doesn't really have any bad blood with each other, I suspect that Ignis is going berserk due to Trigger Dark's own darkness which causes him to attack Trigger

And this is further evidenced by Trigger Dark taking on Metsu Orochi, which is basically an Orb reference for his 5th Anniversary as well

Tho the question is is Trigger Dark still conscious? I mean we know that Trigger is essentially a host of himself(?) but technically speaking, Ignis is a host of yet another Kengo counterpart so I wonder how that's gonna work

Also curiously enough if we look at the Key that Ignis has in the Black Spark Lens, its the GE Key funny enough

Not sure if this is Ignis really using the GE key actually or its something just in the scans for foreshadow a fusion of GE and Trigger Dark which was something I postulated months ago

But with the recent leaks of Vulthroom, Vulthroom enhanced Carmeara and Demonozoa Carmeara Eternity, for Trigger to fuse both his GE and Dark forms together seems more and more likely to keep up with the increasing power scale

Its either that or Glitter form which ngl I prefer the former

Man as expected, the Trigger series is really kicking into high gear in the second half finally

Okay so here's the thing. I like the new outfits but also kinda don't like it..its definitely unique and matches their personality very well. Like the buster bros being hip teen style, mtc with the..very uh uncle vibe that screams "adult" they did riou kinda dirty ngl. fling posse very colorful and has a variety of styles and mtr being classy. I love Jiro’s hat and Saburo’s hair is adorable! Obviously Samatoki looks amazing as well, and Gentaro is one of my faves, I love that they gave him a modern look it’s amazing! Jyushi looks really good too for some reason, maybe it’s the hair? Or shoes? Hifumi kills it and honestly I’m digging Dice’s vibe too.

Some of the others are just meh for me but overall they’re better than previous outfits we’ve been given in my opinion!

Winter anime 2020

And it’s time for another one of these lists. They kinda keep growing in number and it’s scary, but here it is! This season there were some continuation and some anime that got new seasons (ahiru no sora, chihayafuru, isekai quartet, kaibukichou sherlock, iruma-kun, radiant, nnt) but here are the new anime we started ^^

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

This is a typical isekai with a game-like action and plot. It doesn’t have any deeper meaning, but okay for relaxing. Basically, if you want to take your brain out for a walk - watch this!

Darwin’s game

The manga is better. It always is, but here especially so. It has a really good concept - a battle to the death game in real life, but not as good execution with the anime adaptation, they skipped some of the really important parts. Don’t let that discourage you tho! It has a good character development and nice action scenes, which makes it quite good! And move on to the manga later ^^

Dorohedoro

A very interesting anime! Weird, but good! Not surprising tho, it’s mappa. The world in which the story is placed is, although very dark, refreshing and unusually good. The characters are unique, lovable, but weird... like really weird. The animation is a bit different, but it has it’s charm. Also, it has it’s fair share of blood and gruesome scenes, so skip it if you don’t like that. We loved it though! One of the favorites ^^

Hands off the motion pictures club!

Soft. Just goddamn soft. The animation is a bit different and simplistic, but it fits the characters so well. This slice of life pulls you into the imaginative and colorful world of three high school girls who share the love for animation, and the viewer follows their process of getting inspired for plots for their anime and working on creating it. There is not much action going on, but it always leaves you with a positive feeling after watching it.

ID:Invaded

Yes. Watch it please. Awesome detective/ mystery story. The idea of entering a criminal subconscious (aka the id) is a unique and it gives new possibilities for detectives to find clues. The plot is very intriguing and keeps you on your toes. Its confusing at the beginning, but the story connects better after a few episodes and it makes you want to watch more. The characters are intriguing and their conversations well paced. (also great voice actors and music *-*) It has some darker scenes, murder and suicide mention, just thought I should mention that, but it’s an extremely good anime, so would definitely recommend!

If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die

As you can see from the title, this is about a girl fangirling over her favorite idol and that’s it, that’s the plot. But, it’s somehow soft, nicely animated and the story is just enough for an episode a week. It shows both the idol and the fan side of the idol culture, especially the less famous groups. Overall, it’s not an anime that will knock you off your feet, but it’s a solid comedy with relatable characters ^^

Infinite Dendogram

Generic entering-a-game anime. The point of the anime is that every persons possibilities are endless and everyone has the potential to develop into a strong person. Like we said, nothing new. It’s old, but cute concept.

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun

And we’re pretty sure most people already know about this one! It’s playful, colorful, cute as heck, the main girl gets a bit annoying, but it’s hella good! The story balances comedy with a school setting and a darker side involving yokai and evil things that lurk in the shadows, making it interesting to watch. The animation is pleasant to the eyes and the characters are great, what’s more to want ^^

Kyokou Suiri

The plot of this anime is more focused on logical and critical thinking rather than on action, though it may seem otherwise from the synopsis. The relationships between the main characters are kind of weird, but in a good way and their interactions are always interesting. We were pleasantly surprised to see the main female character to have a crush on a guy and still maintain her IQ level. Overall, it’s a good anime, it has good voice actors (Mamo-chan <3), but don’t expect to be kept on the edge of your seat.

Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden

If you watched Madoka, I’m sure you’ve heard about this release. We were happy that they kept the same dementia animation style, especially of witches. It kinda has a more positive vibe than the original but it still keeps some of the original darkness. There are a lot of new magical girls and more plot and action. It’s pretty good, but the original is better (we love them darkness).

Natsunagu!

A very cute five minute anime about a girl searching for her friend who suddenly stopped answering her texts. The animation is cute and you have nothing to lose if you watch it.

Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga

It’s about japanese warlords and historical figures, who are resurrected as dogs. Even though they’ve kept their personalities, they can’t say no to dogs drives (pet me hooman!). It’s cute, but not a lot of plot.

Pet

It has a very interesting idea of entering peoples subconscious and changing it, manipulating their memories in order to control them. But the executions of that idea is... meh, at best. The characters aren’t lovable or memorable, you don’t feel a connection to them. It’s one of those anime that at the end you say ‘It could have been so good’. But yeah, it wasn’t.

Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It

The title says it all. Comedy, slice of life (but not really, the sample is not representable). You really start rooting for the main couple and they are funny at proving their love. It’s also educational, it does mention and explain some principles. It’s quite funny ngl.

Smile Down the Runway

A heartwarming anime about a guy who wants to be a designer and a girl who is too short, but still wants to be a model. It’s a story about perseverance, hard work and pushing towards your dreams. Positive and emotional, and you find yourself cheering for the main characters. Perfect if you want a slow paced anime that includes character development.

Somali and the Forest Spirit

It’s heartwarming, has very clear animation and great voices. The concept is really interesting, the accent is on understanding others different than you and showing love and support. Basically, lots of emotions, it doesn’t have action or a complicated plot, but as a soft story, it’s pretty good.

The Case Files of Jewler Richard

This show is so filled with emotions and softness, it’s amazing! It’s mostly peoples stories - problems and difficulties they overcome on their own or with help of the people close to them, which also have some connection to a jewel. The plot focuses more on the main characters in the later episodes. But the art is very pleasing and the main characters have good chemistry. Of course, it’s not for those who don’t like a bit more of a slow paced story, mostly based on storytelling and human interactions. But it’s still good ^^

Watched but got to lazy to properly review: Ishuzoku Reviewers (sometimes you just have to admire that someone had the imagination to come up with some of the episodes), Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (not terrible, not that good either)

Currently working on: Well, I have quite a few art WIPs piled up ngl. A couple of Anakins and Obi-Wans (very surprising I know hehe) and a gift for my SO. Currently it’s easier to start a new drawing than to finish a WIP!

It's my birthday today (12th march) and I was wondering if I can request some headcanons of the karasuno and/or nekoma team finding out about the manager's birthday when the day is about to end? Like, they didn't know it was their birthday until after practice maybe? I've been feeling kinda meh cause all my friends live so far away from me and I've been spending my birthday at home with my cat _(:'з」∠)_. Thank you! I love your blog, it really makes me smile ❤

Hi Lovey!! Happy Birthday!!🥳 🎉🎉 (It’s actually still the 11th for me, time zones are wild). I hope this gets to you in time! I’m gonna write for the Karasuno babies, and send you Happy Birthday vibes!!!! Smooch your kitty for me ^^ (it’s actually right before practice that they realize it, because reasons)

KARASUNO

The first person to find out that it’s your birthday is Nishinoya, and he busts into the group chat with all caps (It’s the one that you’re not part of that Daichi uses for boring practice updates Tanaka’s words not his) because HOW COULD WE NOT KNOW IT’S Y/N’S BIRTHDAY??!?!

After everyone stops talking at once (Asahi is wondering how he’s such a terrible person, Suga can’t believe he never added it to his phone calendar, Hinata is on the verge of tears and can barely see to type, Kageyama asks if he should save the milk he just bought to give to you instead of drinking it) Daichi kind of takes command

“We’ll figure something out and it will be fine, so just CALM DOWN AND SHUT UP” it’s eerie how everyone involuntarily shivers even though it was a chat message

Everyone rushes to get to the gym before you do so that they can figure out some kind of decorations. Yachi raids her art classroom for colorful paper and streamers and nearly passes out afterwards because she can’t believe she actually s t o l e something.

A brief squabble ensues, but Tsukishima and Yamaguchi are eventually sent to a convenience store to get some snack cakes or ice cream or something

(Tsukki acts like it’s a huge bother, but honestly he would never trust Tanaka and Nishinoya or Kageyama and Hinata to do something so important and not mess it up so it’s not like he has much of a choice)

Meanwhile Yachi and Kiyoko help everyone make cards for you, with little doodles or messages, some of the boys get more into it than others.

Finally Tsukki and Yama return with as many goodies as they can get their hands on, including a nice sized sweet bread that will have to do as your “cake” - they even found some birthday candles.

The moment Coach Ukai arrives Nishinoya begs to use his lighter for the candles, and he almost refuses until Suga steps in and explains what it’s for - he gives in just because it’s for you and for once the team is working together without him telling them to

When you get to the gym, the lights are all off, and for a second you think you must have the day wrong (but you don’t, it’s your birthday, of course you know what day it is-)

You nearly jump out of your skin when you peek your head into the gym to figure out what’s going on and the boys all jump up and shout “HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!!!!!!”

ngl, you get a little teary eyed right away because it almost felt like no one else even really cared about your birthday, but your boys have come through for you like they always do and you can’t even move or say a word, at first

Suga gently nudges you toward the bleachers where your “cake” is set up, and after Noya and Tanaka shout at you to blow out the candles and make your wish, you stop smiling long enough to do it

(”What did you wish for, huh?”)

(”No way I’m telling you, otherwise it’ll never come true, Noya-kun”)

(You wished that they would win Nationals)

You’re overwhelmed with everyone’s well wishes and cards and all of the treats, some of them even took the time to write thought out little notes abut how much they appreciate the hard work you do (Okay, it’s the third years, Ennoshita, and Yamaguchi) but everyone at the very least takes the time to say happy birthday and to show you a little extra attention and love.

All in all, even if it was last minute, it was the best thing you could have asked for, and you tell them that over and over again. They assure you that it was the least they could do and that next year, they’ll know ahead of time and do something BIGGER AND BETTER (Noya adds explosion sound effects)

You’re a little scared, but also feeling incredibly warm inside
