A Lesson in Critical Thinking
It occurs to me that not everybody got particularly robust education (read: any) in how to think critically or apply problem-solving and data collection methods to day-to-day matters they may encounter in their lives. And while I'm no expert in this by any means, I do think I can shed some light on a thing or two.
Let's Say I Have an Observation
It could be anything, from a "fact" someone shared to a pattern I notice in the world -- what matters is it's something I want to verify. For a lighthearted example: I run a discord server, and three members whom I think most of us in the community would consider "cool peeps with their shit together" are polyamorous.
Faced with that observation, one might be tempted to make the claim, "Poly people have their shit together more than the rest of us." And you could even come up with some compelling rationalizations for that, such as, "the poly lifestyle requires so much more communication that people who live it also have better people skills" or hell, even, "living with multiple partners is the ideal state of being, and if we all did that we'd be happier and better-adjusted, too."
And, hey, maybe those things are true! But before we go about spreading that message, maybe we should take a step back and confirm it a bit, hmm?
Checking for Biases
The first thing I'll want to do is think about my claim and validate whether it really feels true and fits within what I generally know about the world:
Are those three people really as "with it" as they seem to be? Am I cherry-picking my evidence to support my conclusion?
Did I see that two people fit the pattern and so lumped in the third polyamorous user with them just to make my argument more compelling?
Might I have a vested interest in wanting this to be true? Does anything about me/my identity hinge on this worldview being correct?
it's important to be honest with yourself at this stage. Confirmation bias is something we can all fall into, and it doesn't make you a bad person -- but it DOES make your data unreliable!
Searching for More Cases
If the claim "polyamorous people are better communicators and more likely to have their shit together" is true, then we should be able to find more examples of it in the wild! Perhaps we should validate our claim by collecting some more data:
Can we survey a population -- say, a polyamory community online -- and capture some raw data? Could we come up with some kind of questionnaire that evaluates the "has-it-together-ness" of a person?
Can we even just informally ask around for other people's experiences? Anecdotes aren't data, but they can help you take a temperature of whether something might be worth investigating further.
Do we have any other experiences we can draw from that might help us validate the claim? Do we have counter-examples in mind who are polyamorous and *don't* have their shit together?
Has anybody ELSE noticed this phenomenon before? Are there studies about it? If so, do they seem well-done? Are the sources credible? (Evaluating a source is a whole other thing and a matter for another guide)
Obviously, a survey is the most scientifically rigorous option -- but you don't have to do a full-on study to validate every single thought and suspicion you have! Sometimes you discover a satisfactory explanation that somebody else has come up with. That's still better than running around espousing a claim you just made up or heard on the street without any further validation!
Eliminating Variables
Okay, so let's say you've acquired some data -- either scientifically collected or informally gathered. And let's say that data does indeed agree with our suspicion! From the results of our hypothetical survey, perhaps we've determined that polyamorous people are indeed more likely to have their shit together (by whatever metric we're judging that against).
Let's see if we can poke some holes in that.
Is there anything else that the people you surveyed have in common that might affect things? For example, if everybody happens to have a stable polycule, could it be that relationship stability is the real factor (as opposed to the number of partners?)
Is where you're finding these people affecting the results? Are people who are in certain types of communities more likely to respond in certain ways? How big was the sample size?
There's a reason why scientific studies eliminate variables, have control groups, and utilize a double-blind method!
The point of all of this is not to make any claims about polyamorous people, and it's not to tell you that you need to complete a scientific study to every thought that pops into your head. The point is to give you a framework for thinking critically about claims and observations. Mentally running through this process ("is my data accurate? am I biased? how could I validate this information? what other explanations might make sense?") might take just a few minutes once you've practiced it, and it can save you from falling for fake news, dangerous pseudoscience, propaganda, and so forth.
Now go out there and think critically!

its always been a struggle trying to figure out where to center myself and my work and how to show it and organize it- and as much as i love my website i think its a tough reality that ppl do not go to it like they do social media, discords, etc. its like the site itself is viewed like a piece of art and not actually a place to utilize for news etc...
of course w places like twitter becoming unreliable and be never liking it anyways, i think im gonna aim to set up a public discord server-- it will not become the only place for news, as i dont like discords where all info is there and nowhere else. butid like to have a space for ppl to join, esp as i see it as a hub for sharing ideas, creative works, etc and hopefully in turn directing more ppl to what i am making bc i am so bad at uh. sharing things, mostly bc its more text than art.
my idea rn for managing it tho, is the server will have open and closed periods, closing when the member count reaches a certain cap. i dont want to have a server of hundreds in a short period, unable to focus on the people- i want to make sure i can interact w people! itll have some verification process too as i dont want to risk random trolls/etc. ill be sure to share this asap but i want to make sure its all good before i post.

thinking about the fact that ranboo's lore is hard to get into and impossible to get the full picture of without watching literally hundreds of hours of vods that may or may not be archived and also are occasionally scattered across other peoples vods completely randomly including but not limited to awesamdude, philza, capt. puffy, tubbo, tommy, fundy, or wilbur and that many of *these* vods were not archived, not to mention the ARG. and also the fact that this is by design and when given the opportunity to rectify this by doing a recap stream, ranboo did it "in character", meaning a vast majority of these smaller details were completely omitted and lore in chill streams is completely unlabelled because cc ranboo just didn't want to do it, or because he wanted people to watch his streams regardless of if it was lore or not so countless scenes are buried and lost to time, even those that give vital information to his character, such as the two scenes with the plan board that i hardly ever see referenced. and cc ranboo insisting you can understand his character without following the enderwalk arc and then like half of his solo lore is exclusively about the enderwalk arc and ive been following this trail of crumbs hopelessly for over a year now and i have to deal with people having shitty uninformed lore takes and i have to look at this and know that it was done by design that you can follow ranboo lore and get the broader picture through recaps and analyses but will you ever experience digging through or archiving ranboo's inventory from stream to stream to pick out when things were happening off camera? or will you ever stream hop in the middle of the school day for the hope of maybe spotting him wandering around in the background of another stream, maybe sending a cryptic message in chat? do you still watch every single stream trying to connect it to ranboo's story somehow, and then somehow manage to be RIGHT even when ranboo hasn't logged on in a month? do you theorize and theorize based on information given to us a year ago and get that confirmation a year later, only for people who haven't been watching from the start to insist this just means he was manipulated and has no autonomy? and you just have to sit there and hunt for clips that may or may not exist because c ranboo is unreliable and cc ranboo is allergic to confirming anything about the enderwalk state, knowing that this misinformation is by design and so much of this arc is preserved in your memory and in analyses long lost to time or deleted discord servers with months of backlogs and liveblogging from this era. theres so few clips to prove anything outright because none of this information is ever given outright. it's implied, suggested, spread across 4 streams. its a culmination, a build up over time repeatedly slowed down by scheduling issues and real life getting in the way. and it SUCKS because so many of these facts are what make this story well written. but it also makes it exclusionary by design and things get abandoned and pushed to the side and maybe retconned maybe not, maybe reworked and adjusted and it all adds up to something but it's impossible to know what and i adore this story. i adore it because i've had this experience and i've been there from the start. it just makes me a little bit sad because it seems to gatekeep itself and if i weren't a college student and super fucking busy, i'd do it. i'd rewatch the streams from december, january, february, march, and i'd document it all. i'd clip it and give you all the information i build my perceptions of this character off of from back to front, but i physically cannot and that makes me sad. maybe this is a commentary on how inaccessible the DSMP is but it feels like ranboo turns that up to 11. i've been hyperfixated on ranboo's story for over a year now and i want to share that experience, and i do in every way i can. but it's fucking hard sometimes.

Why I Believe Endersmile Is Canon
Because I’m on a bit of an Endersmile binge--
This is all gonna be very messy and just me putting my thoughts together and I’ll probably not be going through the VODs for exact timestamps or anything because that’s exhausting and I applaud the people who do, but here are my thoughts on Endersmile and why I’m 100% convinced it’s canon. They’re besties your honor.
/rp Any names mentioned are referring to their dsmp characters and not the streamers themselves unless specified
First off: The Disc. Dream trusts Ranboo, a lot. He trusts him so much that he literally gave Ranboo one of the two discs he needed to pull off his big plan at the finale. He trusted Ranboo, so much that Ranboo deciding to give the disc back to Tommy or Tubbo wasn’t an option, even though Ranboo was friends with both, which he knew. I don’t know why he gave Ranboo the disc, or how he got the disc from Skeppy in the first place, and I’m sure he did have a hundred and one back up plans for if Ranboo did decide to give Tommy the disc, but asking Ranboo to hold onto the disc in the first place means Dream trusted him to a degree, and that’s big coming from Mr. “Reserved”.
Second: Knowing Dream’s Voice. Ranboo knows/remembers Dream’s voice well enough that he hears it whenever he’s in the panic room, that his subconscious uses Dream’s voice to force Ranboo to confront his fears. For a guy who hasn’t had any one on one time or conversations with Dream in VC on stream, he sure does a really good job imagining his voice. /s
Basically, they must have spoken, a lot. They must have spent time together outside planning for things or exchanging items or whatever. So much time, in fact, that Dream and Ranboo both end up sharing the same ideology of “People not sides” of “One big happy family” of “Being the person that stops conflicts” of “Being on all sides” of “Mediating between those sides” of “Choosing the side they think is right”.
During Ranboo’s prison visit dream/nightmare, the Voice tells Ranboo that the only reason Ranboo hasn’t been hearing it lately, is because he hasn’t been speaking with Dream as often. That Ranboo and Dream had talked with each other nearly everyday. And I’m inclined to believe that because the mere existence of the voice proves he’s heard Dream’s voice a lot, or he has a very good memory of Dream’s voice, which, considering his memory problems probably isn’t the case. This is further supported by how ever since Dream’s been in prison, ever since Ranboo banned himself from the prison, he hasn’t heard even a hint of Dream’s voice, not even as he’s remembering more and more.
Third: The Disc War Finale. During the disc war finale, we have in universe proof and out of character confirmation from both cc!Dream and cc!Ranboo that the characters had been staring at each other during the entire thing. Some friends on a discord server have also pointed out how Ranboo appeared to be avoiding Tommy’s gaze unless Tommy’s distracted. And during the entire thing Ranboo’s the only one not holding out a weapon, instead he’s got a book and quill in his hand. We’ve now also got confirmation that Ranboo was Enderwalking during the Disc War Finale, which makes all the strange behaviors make sense because if they’re friends, if they’re allies, then Ranboo didn’t show up to fight Dream. Then Dream might’ve been trying to convey something to Ranboo, like perhaps trying to keep Ranboo from doing something stupid and revealing their alliance. Especially if he planned on being put in Pandora, he really doesn’t need his friend to try and “save” him and ruin the whole plan.
Fourth: The Voice. I am inclined to believe the things the voice says. Why? Because everything the voice is talking about are all the things Ranboo doesn’t want to confront, doesn’t want to see, doesn’t want to remember. The voice isn’t malicious. It’s not even Dream, it’s just using Dream’s voice to make Ranboo listen. And Ranboo knows it’s just himself. (also out of character confirmation from the cc!s that the voice is NOT Dream and never has been, it’s just a manifestation of all the shit Ranboo’s repressed coming up and slapping him in the face) Everything the voice does, all the things it says, is trying to get Ranboo to remember the “bad” things he’s done, to remember that he was on Dream’s side. To force him to face that side of himself that might be capable of doing bad things, if there’s a good enough reason. It exaggerates things, it makes them out to be worse than they actually are, but that’s how it’s able to get Ranboo’s attention, that’s how it’s able to force him to think about those things. Ranboo won’t do anything until he’s forced to face the problem, the Voice is just trying to get Ranboo to do that.
This is why I believe Ranboo DID blow up the community house. Why he’s working with or has worked for Dream in the past. Why he willingly gave Dream his memory book, possibly to create a visible conflict between them and ensure no one would connect them as allies, like what Dream wanted to do with Punz. And also because the other things it’s said, such as Ranboo being given the Cat disc to hold onto, have been proven to be true. Nothing the Voice has said has been confirmed a lie. And many of the things it’s talked about aren’t things we or Ranboo can find the answer to unless he talks to Dream, which is until the dude’s rescued from the prison, isn’t happening. (cc!Dream where’s your Dream lore?!?!?!)
That said, if Ranboo was the one to blow up the community house, then Dream was covering for him during the Disc War Finale. He didn’t have to. He could’ve thrown Ranboo under the bus. But he chose to take on that blame, make himself look even worse in the eyes of everyone gathered there while he was at their mercy, to protect Ranboo from similar persecution. Doesn’t this remind you of anything? And Ranboo’s got a track record of making friends with those who help him.
Fifth: The Visits. Ranboo has visited Dream in prison multiple times. At the very least at least 2 times that we have direct confirmation of, and probably even more. His visits are consistent enough that just a few days after Ranboo bans himself from the prison, Dream notices and starts a strike, tells Sapnap that Ranboo’s stopped visiting, asks him, his best friend who literally threatened to perma-kill him if he were to ever leave his horrible situation, to send a message to Ranboo. (which, I guess Dream still kinda trusts Sapnap despite everything that’s happened, huh?)
Why would Ranboo visit? Unless they’re friends, unless they’re allies? Because even Dream’s so called best friend only ever visited once. Even Bad who Dream claims to have been the nicest only ever visited once. And while Tommy and Quackity visited more than once, their multiple visits have very clear reasons behind them, while Ranboo’s just, don’t.
And consider: How did Ranboo know about the things that were said during the Disc War Finale, word for word, line for line, that he wasn’t present for, unless someone’s told him? Unless he heard about it from Dream himself. Unless that was what they were talking about. Unless that’s part of the reason Ranboo kept visiting Dream.
Sixth: The Lessons. I don’t know about you, but giving life lessons to someone sounds like something you’d do with a friend, and not just a “puppet”. The whole lessons book gives off really mentor mentee vibes, and considering how Ranboo’s following in Dream’s goal of stopping conflict and uniting the server, well. And the lessons aren’t even malicious, or designed to push Ranboo away from others. In fact, many of them, especially the last few ones we see, are designed to protect Ranboo! Unless Ranboo’s safety was a top priority for Dream, there’s not much reason to pass those lessons down. This lines up incredibly well with Dream taking the blame of the community house’s destruction during the Disc War Finale, as well as his protective streak at his own expense when it comes to his allies and the people he cares about. Which means Ranboo is someone he cares about, which means they’re friends! They’re besties your honor!
Seventh: Ranboo’s Vehement Denial. Ranboo is infamous for being an unreliable narrator, for being in incredible denial despite all evidence supporting otherwise. Which means his vehement denial that Dream can be anything but bad is a fairly obvious red flag that that’s not true, and that Ranboo has reason to believe it’s not true, but chooses to actively ignore or forget those reasons and attempts to reinforce the “everything’s Dream’s fault, he can never change and will always be bad” mentality, that sounds like something he stole from Tommy or c!Dream antis, because he doesn’t want to face the fact that he has reasons for believing the opposite. At this point, I am 100% on board with the idea that all these unprompted instances of Dream hate is just a blatant cover up of how that’s not true at all. (Which he touches on, ever so briefly, when he renovates the second stronghold room)
Aaaaand that’s it! For the most part. I could touch on how Enderboo is hoarding all the backbone in this relationship and that the dynamic between Enderboo and Ranboo is closer to that of someone waking up after a sugar high or going for three days straight without sleep than it is two completely separate people or someone who’s literally sleepwalking (and that “Enderboo” is his normal state and “Ranboo” is the sleep deprived not thinking straight state). But this post is already obscenely long and I should end it here.
TL;DR: They’re besties, your honor.
Anyways, if you got this far, thanks for reading!

Hey i just read Kara no kioku song translation and it's just a hopeful song, I related and i cried 😭 and i was thinking what do you think it has to do with the manga? Can you see any relation?
Hey there anon! Sorry for the late response I was very passed out when you sent it
To answer your question, to my understanding the song and the manga aren’t connected to each other…for what I can gather they just happen to share name
I don’t remember if it was explicitly said or if it’s something that was said on one of the discord servers but there was a reliable source to it? It’s been so long since the manga came out so I don’t remember lmao I’m an old woman, tho I can say there’s something similar like how at the beginning of the song the “MC” talks about getting used to their new room and how surprised they are about how loud the city can be…to me this feels like this “MC” just moved in to a new place and, just like how the rest of the song implies, how unfamiliar for them it is. Eve has said many times before he used to move in to different cities bc of his parents’ jobs so maybe the song is about that experience? As someone who moved out of the country I do relate way too much with it tbh so maybe that could be the meaning?
I say this bc, as we know, Rei just moved in to Tokyo at the beginning of the manga and we can see how anxious and stressed he’s about the whole experience (something I can say it’s also in the song) but other than that I don’t really see more relation? Maybe the more the manga progresses more similarities could be shown
(Chapter 15 spoilers so if you haven’t gone that far ahead go read it and come back) I think the reason why the manga is called like that is bc the title can be translated to “memory of the void” or “empty memories” which relates to the fact that Rei has an amnesia of some sorts. Bc of this void in his memory (hehe) we should consider him an unreliable narrator and not really take at heart the fact that he just moved in bc he probably doesn’t remember he actually lived in Tokyo and if he did then he wouldn’t share that similarity with the song’s “MC”
Idk if this really helped but yeh manga territory sometimes is sloppy isn’t it?

ARTIST CLAIMS ARE HERE!
TIMELINE:
Artist Sign-Ups: May 22-August 7
Artist Claims Open:  August 6
Final Check-In: August 30
Final Drafts Due: Sept 18
Posting Begins: September 21
THE BASICS:
One of the unique aspects of a big bang challenge is the combination of fic and fanart. Artists are welcome to create art in any medium they choose, including but not limited to: mixes, videos, podfics, gifs, drawings, paintings, graphics, edits, comics, physical crafts. Art is impossible to quantify, but we do ask that artists put in a significant effort in recognition of the work that the writers are doing on the fics. Authors will be writing their fics all summer and will be expending significant time on the project. A good benchmark for artists is about 15-20 hours of work, including brainstorming and planning.
The final product should be a collaboration between author and artist. What that collaboration looks like is a highly individual process: if you get a clear artistic vision, run with it; but you should also feel free to ask your author any questions you have along the journey. Artists and authors should share drafts with each other as they go so that when the final products are posted, they complement each other well.

We have 5 wonderful Big Bang fics. Click the Read More for their summaries!
Fic 1: Take Me Out to the Ballgame Tentative Title: (not the title) take me out to the ballgame Pairing(s): Jon Favreau / Tommy Vietor Characters:  Jon Favreau, Tommy Vietor Ao3 Rating: E Warnings: No archive warnings apply Additional Tags: Baseball AU ; Coming Out ; Bisexual Characters ; Dating ; Alternate Universe - Different Meeting Summary: Jon and Tommy meet playing baseball in high school and start to fall for each other, then Tommy moves away. Their epic love story continues when they end up on the same Minor League baseball team. The big question is, will they end up with a World Series ring or an engagement ring? Fic 2: Spirits that I’ve Cited Tentative Title: Spirits that I've cited   Pairing(s): Tommy/Lovett; background Emily/Jon, Alyssa/Erin Characters: Tommy, Lovett, Favs, Emily, Alyssa, Erin, Dan Ao3 Rating: tentative M (for psychological horror and possible sex) Warnings: a non-consensual kiss under the influence of possession might happen, this scene is not yet written Additional Tags: paranormal investigators, slow burn, reluctant colleagues to friends to lovers, mutual pining, angst, hurt/comfort, accidental internet stars, bed-sharing, coming-out, road trips, witches getting married, demonic possession, ghosts, mythical creatures, Monster of the Week, psychological but non-graphical horror, slightly unreliable narrator, intoxication, magical mind control, themes of bodily and mental autonomy, (past) abusive relationships (not between main characters), possession induced mental health problems, worldbuilding, happy ending Summary:  It’s a cold day in November when Tommy meets Lovett and his life turns upside down. Which shouldn’t be the worst thing, looking at it objectively.
Because, objectively, Tommy’s life already sucks. He is lonely, depressed, and Crooked Medium, the agency for paranormal investigations he co-owns with his ex-boyfriend Jared, is falling apart. Besides the shitty fact that he and Jared broke up, they constantly operate in the red, despite their best efforts. And it’s just the garbage cherry on top of the dumpster sundae that Jared and their only other core member, Jon, hate each other’s guts. Jon is Tommy's friend, but more importantly, he is Crooked Medium's exorcist par excellence, and for a former priest Tommy thought he might be better at the whole 'turn the other cheek' thing. He supposes that probably explains the 'former' part. So of course he panics when Jon unexpectedly buys out Jared’s shares in the company and offers Lovett a one-year apprenticeship as a medium and buys Jared shares of the agency. Suddenly Tommy’s faced with training a person who is not familiar with magic in one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, instead of relying on the experience Jared had. Despite the help from magical professors Alyssa and Dan, witch and shop-owner Erin, and their whole team—to Tommy it feels like Lovett’s credentialing next November is ages away. However, after a bonding experience involving ghost mice, Tommy slowly but surely discovers that Lovett isn’t an inconvenience at all. He is charming, attractive, hilarious, and way more talented than Tommy originally anticipated. Even their business improves, especially when they become an overnight internet sensation due to a malfunction. Instead of operating only in Boston, people across the country are now booking them to handle their mystical and paranormal problems. With each new case, Lovett learns more—and Tommy learns more about Lovett. This is unfortunate, given that Lovett is technically Tommy's intern, and the last thing Tommy needs is a harassment scandal. Tommy, naturally good at ignoring things, decides to ignore it. Which works out fine, thank you very much. At least up until Alyssa and Erin’s magical wedding in the woods. Or up until Lovett has a life-changing experience with a mirror. Or maybe even up until Lovett (plus Lovett's friend/household spirit Spencer) moves in. And just when Tommy thinks falling in love with his employee is his biggest problem, it turns out much more nefarious forces are at work. Fic #3: The gentle outline of the country we are building Tentative Title: The gentle outline of the country we are building  Pairing(s): Jon Favreau/Jon Lovett/Tommy Vietor, Jon Favreau/Jon Lovett, Jon Favreau/Tommy Vietor, Jon Lovett/Tommy Vietor Characters: Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor, Dan Pfeiffer, Alyssa Mastromonaco, Cody Keenan, Michael O' Neill, Spencer Wong, Andy Favreau, Tanya Somanader, Travis Helwig Ao3 Rating: E Warnings: No archive warnings apply Additional Tags: DC era, LA era, pining, wrong number AU, polyamory, threesomes, jealousy, slow burn, friends with benefits, angst with a happy ending, getting together, smut, fluff, blowjobs, anal sex, rimming, dirty talk, sexting, drinking, marijuana, sex under mild influence of alcohol, friends to lovers.  AO3 (working) Summary: It takes spending the night in one room with a king-sized bed for Jon, Lovett, and Tommy to finally get it right after nearly a decade of trying.  AKA A story about Jon, Tommy, and Lovett getting together, aided and abetted by Jon’s technological ineptitude, misunderstandings, love, friendship, and longing.   Expanded summary: Jon and Lovett embark on a charged, text-based flirtation without knowing the other after Jon texts the wrong number during the 2008 general election campaign. It feels like a summer fling that wouldn’t end, just like those times Jon had slept with Tommy back in Chicago. But both of them do end, but at least Jon’s going to the White House with a new speechwriter and his best friend in tow. Jon thinks, not the right time then with Tommy, not the right time now with you, Lovett.   They write speeches and policies and learn lessons on how to build a country and a friendship. The first summer at the White House, Tommy starts taking Lovett to bed almost every night. Two years later, he stops, because Lovett knocks on his door one day and says, “I am leaving.” Not quite the right time for you and me.   Lovett spends his days in LA writing things very different from what he used to but thinking thoughts about Jon and Tommy that aren’t all that different. Jon and Tommy skype him from Chicago when his show gets canceled, and Lovett thinks about how right they look together on the screen, like they belong to each other. Jon comes to LA and doesn’t leave. Tommy moves closer, but not close enough. They lose everything when November 2016 dawns and then build an empire from the ruins, and over the next few months, they think, maybe it wasn’t the right time then, and maybe we did not do this before because we were always meant to do this together. All of us.   Fic 4: Loving Him was Red - Azure Title: loving him was red - azure Pairing(s): Jon Favreau/Dan Pfeiffer, background Michael/Elijah Characters: Jon, Dan, Tommy, Lovett, Alyssa, Michael, Elijah Rating: E Warnings: No major warnings apply Additional tags: alternate universe, actors, hollywood, tabloids, love at first sight, BDSM, like lots of BDSM, spanking, flogging, humiliation, painplay, safeword use, failed scene, alcohol, alcohol abuse, drug use and abuse, divorce, bad at communication Summary: Rising star Dan Pfeiffer meets grown-up child actor Jon Favreau on the set of the movie that just might be their big break. It's a good old-fashioned Hollywood story. Boy meets Boy. Boy falls head over heels at first sight. Boy marries Boy. Boy ties Boy up and fucks him til he screams. But the Hollywood lights hit every dark shadow too and as the tabloids stir up gossip; as Jon spends more and more time at the club; and as Dan starts to wonder what comes next, the faultlines widen and their marriage falls into the abyss This is the first of a three fic arc chronicling the beginning, end, and re-beginning of an epic love story. Fic 5: Invisible String
Tentative Title:  Invisible String Pairing(s): Jon Favreau / Tommy Vietor Characters: Jon Favreau, Tommy Vietor Ao3 Rating: Explicit Warnings: NO WARNINGS   Additional Tags: affection, holding hands, chase sequence, shaving (face), mention of pod sponsors, wills & estates, cartoon villains, clothes sharing, Boston, plane flights, current day/LA era,Summary: Human boatshoe Tommy Vietor discovers he can claim a huge inheritance if he can prove he is married. If he does not, the $40 million fortune will go to the National Rifle Association. Best friend Jon Favreau steps up to help Tommy out. The NRA hires investigators to find information in order to break the will, chasing our boys all over Boston at one point.

With discord you can do a screen share but its kinda unreliable and rabbit is down but it was renamed to something else you have to download to use
i tried all the options a while ago hoping to host a rewatch party ;_; discord only screenshares to friends via DMs, if you wanted to share in a server it would only share a specific application (games)
rabbit is bought by Kast, it didnt work out for me, and there was a specific netflix streaming browser addon but i think it’s faulty or blocked because it didnt work.
i’m only paying my netflix sub for TDP, so every day i am not watching it is a money wasted 😂

witchcraft 101
I'm sure you've seen a post like this before because everyone and their mother has reblogged one or two at some point in time. But regardless I'm gonna take my own crack at it.
It is important to note that you don't have to become an expert in everything on this list to officially graduate from baby witch status. It's more like, do some research and at least dabble in everything a couple times and decide where you want to go from there and when you feel like you're not a baby witch anymore you're not.
So here is a list of the things you should look at first, a starter kit of information, if you will:
- a book: Usually called a grimoire or a book of shadows. This is a collection of all your research, notes, and spells, and usually one of the first things a witch realizes they'll want, if just for pure convenience. Looking up lists for this will give you a broad idea of all the subjects to study. You can use a word doc or a notebook for your book, or whatever works, it doesn't matter what.
- the different types of witch: Wicca is what you will probably encounter first as they publish the most literature, though they've only been around since 1954. But there are also traditionalists, green, kitchen, urban, secular, eclectic, christian, muslim, polytheistic, and many more. The purpose of this item on the list is to educate yourself on the different paths available and the types of witches you will interact with in the community, not on labeling yourself.
- tools: classically a wand, knife, pentacle, book chalice, broom, and/or cauldron. A more common list would include candles, herbs, essential oils, rocks and crystals, insense, and some form of divination. Witches may use some, all, or none of these. I am of the firm belief you don't need a damn thing to practice witchcraft, while other witches may find tools essential. Both opinions are valid.
- divination: the most common are runes and tarot, though you can create a divination system out of anything as it's all about pre-assigning meaning and then interpreting how they are positioned and interact. There are many pre-existing forms of divination, all with their unique quirks. You don't have to practice divination to be a witch so if you're not feeling it move on.
- sigils: Popular because of their beginner friendly process and convenience, but no less powerful.
- diety: Some witches work with god/dessess. Some work with one or two, others entire pantheons like Greek and Norse. Sometimes witches are approached by a god/dess, sometimes they seek them out specifically by name or through their domain, like 'travel' or 'women'.
- hot topics: Ongoing dialogue in the witch community over cursing/hexing, consent for working spells on or on the behalf of people, who can be a witch (answer: anyone), cultural appropriation, etc.
- energy work: Usually recommended pretty fast to new witches. In its simplest form it is basic meditation, but moves on to grounding, centering, shielding, energy points, etc, which are the basic steps for protection and spell work. From there it branches off into an entire specialization.
- protection: Theres nasty stuff out there and meddling with magic draws attention. Having a working knowledge of different protection methods that work for you is essential. Salt and smoke cleansing are the most widely used.
- safety: Not all herbs are safe when burned, not all crystals are safe when put in water, and some common essential oils are not safe to come into contact with skin or can be toxic to animals. Do your research.
- correspondences: These are the meanings for things and their symbology, such as 'red' being used for love, or passion, or putting a clover in a luck spell. Typically these are put in lists which are abundant on tumblr, which are either historically based or personal experience. They are good for reference but are not meant to be memorized as you need to use associations that make sense to you. If you don't share the associations in the list then that ingredient won't work that way in the spell you made.
- psychic abilities: mainly the 4 clairs, clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance, but there are more and each have branches. There is of course, intuition, which you'll be hearing a lot of.
- spells: I use spells on tumblr for brainstorming how to format a spell when I feel clueless, but then from there it's all about what feels right and what ingredients I have on hand. I have a friend who plans out spells for days thinking about ingredients and then makes a trip downtown to our closest witch shop to buy everything, but whatever floats your boat. Ultimately intention and intuition are everything.
- community: Witchblr is tumblr's witch community, but there are forums and discord servers as well. Offline there are covens and meetups, but either way finding a group that works for you might require some time and dedication.
- sabbats and esbats: The "witch" calendar. Not observed by everyone. Mostly referring to the equinoxes, solstices, and moon phases. Meant for celebration and drawing power for spells. Not sure if the term is specifically wiccan.
- casting circles: An actual circle you mark out around you to create a safe magic powerhouse. Generally a ritual. Some traditions have specific ways for this to be done, others don't. Many people do it how they want, many don't do it in a ritualistic way, and many don't do it at all. I usually just wave some insense around and call the area cleansed.
A word about tumblr: tumblr is great for the community and initial research and opinion gathering, but it definitely shouldn't be your only resource. Google can be a great friend, so long as you ignore biased and unreliable resources.
I feel like with this list you'll have a very strong start as a baby witch. I will add to it if I think of anything else. Feel free to message if you have questions.
